Abstract:
The article considers the history of the creation and development of the first Russian village in the Altai Mountains - the village of Cherga, which appeared in 1820-s a settlement of peasants assigned to the Cabinet mining plants. According to the author, Cherga played an important role in the economic development of the north-western part of the Altai Mountains. Cherga peasants were successfully engaged in arable farming, cattle breeding, mountain beekeeping, private hauling and taiga fisheries. In the vicinity of Cherga in the second half of the 19th century, there were large dairy farms of entrepreneurs who used advanced technologies and innovations in their farms. In Soviet times, Cherga with the surrounding villages turned into a large multi-industry state farm in the Altai Mountains. The traditions of innovation in Cherga were fully manifested in the 1980-s, when the Altai Experimental Farm of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of USSR was formed on the basis of the Cherginsky State Farm, which was still active at the beginning of the 20th century. Abstract:
The purpose of the work is to conduct research aimed at identifying dangerous areas adjacent to the village of Babugent as a result of changes in the channel processes at the confluence of the Cherek Balkarsky and Cherek Bezengiysky rivers. On this site, field surveys of channels were carried out, the sharp changes of which began with the construction of a dam for the Kashkhatau hydroelectric power plant 1 km downstream. As a result of the field survey, areas with a large amount of deposited material in the beds of the Cherek Balkarsky and Cherek Bezengiysky rivers were identifi ed, as well as erosion of the coastal slope of the floodplain terrace, where the rural cemetery is located. According to the data of the field work, calculations were carried out to determine the height of the water level depending on the maximum flow rates of flood water of different percentage provision. Based on the results of the calculations and field surveys, the zones of fl ooding and underfl ooding of the territories of the Babugent village, which is located between the Cherek Balkarsky and Cherek Bezengiysky rivers, have been determined. 22 household plots and households of the private sector of the village fall into the zone of flooding and underfl ooding. Recommendations are given on carrying out the necessary measures to ensure the safety of people’s livelihood and the infrastructure of the village.

Abstract:
In the Russian language the preposition “cherez (through)” is used in its typical contexts to refer to spatial characteristics in which an action or movement takes place. However, there are cases in the Persian language when there is no clear boundary among the spatial prepositions corresponding to the preposition “cherez (through)”, which causes difculty for Iranian learners to choose the correct one. At the same time one and the same Persian preposition can be expressed by different Russian prepositions which lead to regular mistakes in the speech of Iranian students. Tus, for instance, Iranian students use the preposition “az miyan-e” / (among) in the meaning of the Russian prepositions “cherez” (through), “mezhdu”, “ckvoz” (within) and “iz” (from), although these prepositions are different in meaning and function. In this article, the locations used in combination with the preposition “through” are systematically classifed to explain their specifc features. In addition, the ways of expressing the spatial meanings of the preposition “through” in the Persian language are addressed in order to raise Iranian learners’ awareness of possible mistakes. Te novelty of the article is in the attempt to compare semantic and spatial features of the Russian preposition “cherez (through)” with its correlates in the Persian language. Te fndings of this study can be of interest to RFL teachers, in particular in Iran, as they will highlight common mistakes in the speech of Iranian learners when using the preposition “through”, and to RFL textbook developers.

Abstract:
One of the biggest rivers in the southern part of the Balkan peninsula – the Mesta River is wellknown for frequent flash floods, especially in the upper river course. As a result of severe storms and related heavy rain in mid-July 2019, the Cherna Mesta River flooded, and this resulted in heavy damage to the road infrastructure and water-supply systems. All data indicate that this was not a usual water flood, instead at peak flow, the river carried a huge amount of gravel. Our mapping of erosional and depositional features related to the 2019 event, as well as geomorphological analysis, allows for distinguishing distinct sectors along the river valley. Most hazards are defined in the lower reaches of the Cherna Mesta River, where the processes of channel aggradation and lateral erosion are pronounced. The field analysis of the flood-related deposits indicates the operation of debris flood and hyperconcentrated and water flood processes.

Abstract:
The international trade network of the ancient Chera, Chola, Pandyan kingdoms with Rome in particular since Sangam age has been studied well by various researchers. However, a recent archaeological excavation study at Thandigudi, Pattanam and Keeladi have generated a lot more data and throws more light with new research dimension and direction, particularly concerning the trade routes. The supply chain business intelligence of the various merchant guilds operating in all three Chera, Chola, Pandya territories are reviewed to provide a framework for knowledge destination and cultural heritage trade routes from the emerging new evidence. The proposed logistics network design and destination market intelligence of the trade routes naturally evolved into three clusters of towns and places - the outcome of the research survey concludes with a newly developed smart heritage cultural route of Tamilnadu.

SummarySix nitrosoguanidine-induced manganese-resistant mutants ofAzospirillum brasilensewere isolated and used for associative N2fixation studies with cheena (Panicum miliaceumL.) in acid soil. Three mutants showed cross-resistance to aluminium and neomycin, but of these three only one showed cross-resistance to streptomycin. Inoculation of cheena withA. brasilenseand its mutants at different rates of applied nitrogen led to a significant increase in associative N2fixation, N content, dry-matter production and grain yield in acid soil. A saving of about 20 kg N/ha could be achieved by inoculating seeds of cheena with these mutant strains in acid soil.

Abstract:
During Sangam period there were land lords who holds the rank next to Vendars. These lords pay tax to Vendars and they themselves participated in politics and served as army chiefs to the Vendars in times of war. Minor parts of the lands owned by Chera, Chola and Pandyas were ruled by these land lords and they opposed them and kept the areas under their control. Land lords like Kosar came fromm the northern part of Tamilnadu. This kind of sociological approach has greatly contributed to social history of Tamil and especially about the ancient history. The most famous among land lords is Kadaiyaelu Vallalgal. The article brings out the generosity of Kadaiyaelu Vallal, his friendship with the other kings and the jealousy of the three Vendars Chera, Chola and Pandya over him. In addition to this the article discusses about the generosity, valor and fame of the land lord Athiyaman. We come to know about the glory of Tamilnadu through these kings.

Abstract:
We present a case of a 4-year-old female with a de novo heterozygous variant in the ATN1 gene. The whole exome sequencing was performed on the patient and her parents, and a likely pathogenic, de novo variant was identified in exon 5 of the ATN1 gene. There are two well-documented conditions associated with the ATN1 gene: congenital hypotonia, epilepsy, developmental delay, and digital anomalies (CHEDDA) syndrome and dentatorubral-pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA). Unlike DRPLA which is caused by an expanded trinucleotide repeat, CHEDDA syndrome is caused by variants in the histidine-rich (HX) motif at exon 7 of ATN1 similar to the de novo variant found in exon 5 of the presented individual. CHEDDA syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder previously documented in over 17 unrelated individuals. Compared to other documented CHEDDA syndrome cases, this individual shares similarities in respect to hypotonia, hearing impairment, impaired gross and fine motor ability, gastrointestinal abnormalities, hyperextensible joints, and frontal bossing. However, the individual presented here has only a moderate developmental delay and has acquired more developmental milestones such as higher-level language skills and more developed fine motor skills, than previously described individuals. The authors of this paper believe the patient’s milder phenotype may be due to the variant’s location outside of the canonic HX motif.

Abstract:
SummaryHigh-temperature-adapted strains RAU 1, RAU 2 and RAU 3 ofAzospirillum brasilenseC 7 were isolated from stepwise transfer to higher temperature (30 to 42 °C). One of the strains (RAU 1) showed more growth, greater nitrogenase and hydrogenase activities at 30 and 42 °C than parental and other temperature-adapted strains. This strain also showed growth and more nitrogenase activity from pH 6·5 to 8·0. Strain RAU 1 showed cross-resistance to penicillin (300/µg/ml) but not to streptomycin, kanamycin, viomycin and polymixin B at 30 and 42 °C. It was demonstrated in field plots in calcareous soil that seed inoculation with RAU 1 enhanced mineral uptake of cheena. Inoculation with RAU 1 led to a significant increase in associative nitrogen fixation, dry weight of roots, grain and straw yield of cheena compared with the uninoculated control with or without applied N, but the effect of seed inoculation with high-temperature-adapted strains was variable with different genotypes of cheena.

Abstract:
The genus Hyponephele includes about 40 species distributed throughout the southern part of the Palaearctic area. Within this genus, the taxa of the H. lycaon – H. lupina species complex are similar with respect to the wing pattern and genitalia structure. Here we revise this group using analysis of butterfly morphology, DNA barcodes, and study of the type material. We show that, with a few exceptions, the species in this group are allopatric in distribution. Allopatry in combination with phenotypic similarity may be theoretically interpreted as evidence for the conspecifity of these taxa. Here we falsify this hypothesis by using DNA barcode analysis. We show that the species of this complex are genetically very distant and cannot be combined together as a polytypic species. We also demonstrate that H. lupina consists of two deeply diverged allopatric clades, H. lupina s. s. and H. mauritanica comb. & stat. nov. The barcode p-distance between these taxa (3.4-4.9%) is significantly higher than the generally accepted 'standard' minimum interspecific divergence (2.0-3.0% ) threshold. These two clades can also be distinguished by the color of the upperside of the wing in males (brown with conspicuous golden reflection in H. lupina ; dark brown without golden reflection in H. mauritanica) and by details in male genitalia and male androconia structures. Syntypes of Hyponephele sifanica, H. cheena cheena, H. cheena iskander, and H. cheena kashmirica are studied and figured.

Abstract:
Two new genera are proposed, Foveomicrus gen. n. (type species Foveomicrus indicus sp. n.) and Indomicrus gen. n. (type species Indomicrus chera sp. n.), for south Indian species of Cephenniini. The new taxa are classified as members of the ‘Cephennomicrus group’ of genera, characterized, among others, by a short and broad, button-like maxillary palpomere IV. Relationships of Foveomicrus and Indomicrus are discussed, and an updated identification key to world genera of Cephenniini is presented.
