Cherax quadricarinatus merupakan salah satu komoditas penting perikanan di Danau Lido, namun spesies ini sering menjadi invasif. Produksi telur digunakan sebagai informasi dasar pengelolaan lobster air tawar di Danau Lido. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis produksi telur lobster air tawar Cherax quadricarinatus di perairan Danau Lido Bogor, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2017 hingga Februari 2018 dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 101 ekor betina. Pola pertumbuhan Cherax quadricarinatus berdasarkan uji-t adalah alometrik negatif. Panjang karapas yang berbeda berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah telur total. Jumlah telur rata-rata yang dihasilkan selama tiga bulan pengambilan contoh yaitu 212 ± 65 butir telur. Volume telur rata-rata yang dihasilkan yaitu 4,2376± 1,2270 mm3 dan diameter telur rata-rata yang dihasilkan yaitu 1,9919± 0,1869 mm.

Pada pengelolaan induk di hatchery sering terjadi silang dalam (inbreeding) yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan keragaman genetik. Salah satu program untuk meningkatkan keragaman genetik adalah dengan hibridisasi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui keragaman genetik turunan persilangan antara huna biru Cherax albertisii dengan huna capitmerah Cherax quadricarinatus. Metode penelitian menggunakan analisis RAPD (Randomly Amplified Polymorphism DNA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai heterozigositas hibrida lebih tinggi (0,187-0,290) dibanding nonhibrida (0,0997-0,2211). Hibridisasi antara jantan huna capitmerah dengan betina huna biru (RA) menghasilkan nilai heterozigositas yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan persilangan antara betina huna capitmerah dengan jantan huna biru (AR).Management of fish broodstock in hatchery can reduced genetic variation. One program that can be conducted to increase the genetic variation is hibridization. The aim of this research was to find out genetic variation (heterozigosity) of the offspring of Cherax albertisii-Cherax quadricarinatus hybrid. The methods used in this research was RAPD analysis (Random Amplified Polymorphism DNA). The result showed that heterozigosity value of hybrid (0.187-0.290) was higher than that of non hybrid (0.0997-0.2211). Hybridization of redclaw male with blue crayfish female (RA) gave better result in heterozigosity value and genetic distance than that of redclaw female with blue crayfish male (AR).

Abstract:
<p>The objective of this research was to know the growth and survival rate of redclaw crayfish (<em>Cherax quadricarinatus</em>) reared in recirculation system with density 20, 30, 40 and 50 m<sup>-2</sup>. Lobster with 6.02 ± 0.13 cm length and 6.23 ± 0.51 gram initial body weights were cultured in 60 x 30 x 40 cm aquarium and compiled in recirculation system, for 42 days. Result of research showed that there are statistically difference at growth rate daily weight, coefficient of variances and feed efficiency (p0.05). From this research it can be concluded that the best density for freshwater crayfish (<em>Cherax quadricarinatus</em>)<em> </em>was 50 m<sup>-2</sup>.</p><p>Keywords: density, growth, survival rate, redclaw crayfish, <em>Cherax quadricarinatus</em></p><p> </p><p>ABSTRAK</p><p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup lobster capit merah (<em>Cherax quadricarinatus</em>) yang dipelihara pada sistem resirkulasi dengan kepadatan 20, 30, 40 dan 50 ekor/m<sup>2</sup>. Benih lobster yang digunakan memiliki panjang awal rata-rata 6,02 ± 0,13 cm dan berat 6,23 ± 0,51 gram, dipelihara pada akuarium dengan ukuran 60 x 30 x 40 cm yang diisi air setinggi 20 cm dan disusun dalam sistem resirkulasi, selama 42 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nyata pada laju pertumbuhan bobot harian, koefisien keragaman dan efisiensi pakan (p0,05). AbstrakIndonesia memiliki potensi perikanan yang sangat tinggi, salah satunya adalah lobster. Ekspor lobster air tawar cenderung meningkat tiap tahun. Total ekspor hasil lobster budidaya mencapai 94.511 ton/tahun. Pangsa pasar lobster air tawar tidak hanya terbatas di dalam negeri saja tetapi juga ke luar negeri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya bakteri kitinolitik dan juga jenis-jenis bakteri kitinolitik yang terdapat pada cangkang lobster air tawar. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi untuk mengetahui adanya bakteri kitinolitik yang ada pada cangkang lobster air tawar. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah secara deskriptif. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif yaitu penyajian data tentang morfologi dan karakteristik dari bakteri kitinolitik yang diisolasi dari cangkang lobser air tawar (Cherax quadricarinatus) dan dibandingkan dengan morfologi dan karakteristik bakteri kitinolitik dengan literatur yang sesuai. Hasil penelitian ini adalah diperoleh bahwa bakteri yang diisolasi dari cangkang lobster air tawar (Cherax quadricarinatus) dapat tumbuh dan berkembang pada media uji. Kemudian hasil uji hidrolisis bakteri kitinolitik ditandai dengan adanya zona bening yang dihasilkan dari bakteri tersebut. Dari hasil pengujian tersebut didapatkan jenis – jenis bakteri yaitu Aeromonas sp., Bacillus sp. dan Pseudomonas sp. AbstractIndonesia have highest potential of fishery. One of them is Lobster. It has increasing slightly, approximately 94.511 ton/years. The aims this research to determine the presence of chitinolytic bacteria and identify its species in crayfish shells. This research was performed via observation method to determine the presence of chitinolytic bacteria, which are exist in crayfish (cherax quadricarinatus) shell. The data used in this research is descriptive. The data descriptively analyzed represented the morphology and characteristics of chitinolytic bacteria isolated from crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) and comparison the morphology and characteristics of chitinolytic bacteria with appropriate literature. These results obtained that the bacteria isolated from crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) shell can grow and develop in the test medium. Then, chitinolytic activity was signed by the formation of clear zone on the test medium. The results obtained several bacterium species including Aeromonas sp., Bacillus sp. and Pseudomonas sp.

Abstract:
Lobster Air Tawar (Cherax quadricarinatus) merupakan salah satu komoditas perikanan yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi, baik untuk lobster konsumsi ataupun lobster hias. Kebutuhan Lobster Air Tawar konsumsi semakin meningkat, namun produksinya masih sangat rendah sehingga harga di pasaran relatif tinggi. Pakan merupakan salah satu komponen budidaya yang sangat besar peranannya sebagai faktor penentu pertumbuhan maupun dari segi biaya produksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa udang putih yang diberi pakan dengan tambahan 500 ppm L-karnitin menunjukkan pertumbuhan yang optimal. Adanya penelitian tentang L-karnitin yang mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan udang putih maka diharapkan juga mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan Lobster Air Tawar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan L-karnitin pada pakan terhadap pertumbuhan benih Lobster Air Tawar (Cherax quadricarinatus). Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian dosis L-karnitin yang berbeda pada pakan buatan menghasilkan laju pertumbuhan harian dan efisiensi pakan yang berbeda nyata (p<0,05). Pertumbuhan benih Lobster Air Tawar (Cherax quadricarinatus) terbaik pada perlakuan D sebesar 0,72 gr/hari, dan efisiensi pakan terbaik pada perlakuan D sebesar 90,68%.

Abstract:
In the last few years, there has been a notable development in the breeding of freshwater shrimp (astaciculture), which involved various species and in particular, the two Australian Parastacidae species, Cherax destructor and Cherax quadricarinatus. Information about the haemolymphatic parameters of these two species is fragmentary, and filling these gaps becomes important given their importance in aquaculture. Cellular and biochemical parameters were analyzed in both species to create a reference baseline for these parameters to identify the state of welfare or suffering of these animals. The results showed that the total haemocyte count, haemocyte subpopulations, enzymatic activities and pH are similar between the two species, while total protein and osmolality are higher in C. destructor than C. quadricarinatus. Knowledge of these parameters could assist in evaluating the good health status of these species kept in aquaculture facilities.

Abstract:
Lobster air tawar (huna) adalah spesies endemik dan merupakan komoditas perikanan spesifik lokal Papua dan Australia, yang termasuk famili Parastacidae dan genus Cherax. Secara morfologi ada persamaan bentuk dan warna antara huna biru dengan capitmerah. Diduga terjadi inbreeding yang menyebabkan produksi huna capitmerah mulai menurun. Hibridisasi antar huna bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keragaman genetiknya sehingga diperoleh kualitas benih huna yang lebih baik dalam hal pertumbuhan dan sintasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan turunan hibrida antara huna capitmerah dengan huna biru sampai 4 bulan relatif sama dengan non hibrida, pada umur 5 bulan pertumbuhan hibrida mulai terlihat lebih cepat dibandingkan dengan yang non hibrida. Hibridisasi jantan huna biru dengan betina huna capit merah (AR) menghasilkan hibrida dengan efek heterosis 25% pada kenaikan bobot badannya. Abstract:
Cherax quadricarinatus is a parastacid crayfish native to parts of north-eastern Australia and southern New Guinea. It is a relatively large and highly fecund species in comparison with other crayfish of this genus. Since C. quadricarinatus was previously assessed as an invasive species in Indonesia, further monitoring of this species in this region was recommended. Detailed understanding of its spatial behaviour can be the basis for further research aimed at improved management. Field sampling was performed outside its native range in Java, Indonesia from 2019–2020, resulting in data useful for modelling the species' spatial distribution. The occurrence of the species was confirmed in 66 of 70 surveyed localities with 51 new records for Indonesia. Future investigations focused on the relationship between the spatial distribution and dispersal pattern of C. quadricarinatus and its interactions with native biota and entire ecosystems were recommended.

Lobster air tawar (Cherax quadricarinatus) merupakan salah satu organisme yang mengkomsi pakan dengan cara mencabik-cabiknya. Semakin lama pakan tersebut dikonsumsi semakin besar peluang kandungan nutrient dalam pakan mengalami pencucian/leaching. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan pertumbuhan lobster (C. quadricarinatus) yang diberi pakan buatan dalam bentuk pakan basah (kenyal) dan kering. Juvenil lobster air tawar (dengan bobot 4,47±0,77g) sebelum diberi perlakuan terlebih dahulu diadaptasikan baik pada pakan maupun pada media pemeliharaan. Penelitian ini mengujikan dua perlakuan yakni pakan basah (kenyal) dan kering. Setiap perlakuan diberi 5 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju pertumbuhan spesifik harian, pertumbuhan bobot individu, tingkat kelangsungan hidup, serta efisiensi pakan untuk perlakuan pakan basah dan kering masing-masing secara berurut sebesar 0,47 %/hari; 0,77g; 90%; 51,57% dan 0,32 %/hari; 0,48g; 80%; 39,01%. Perlakuan yang memberikan nilai lebih tinggi pada lobster (C. quadricarinatus) yakni pemberian pakan basah (kenyal).

Lobster air tawar spesies Cherax quadricarinatus berasal dari perairan Australia dan Papua Nugini. Pengukuran morfometrik merupakan salah satu teknik dalam membedakan bentuk tubuh dari suatu populasi. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis kekerabatan populasi pada lobster air tawar dari perairan Jawa Barat berdasarkan pendekatan truss morphometric. Beberapa karakter morfometrik dilakukan pengukuran dengan jumlah total sampel sebanyak 133 individu yang meliputi 20 individu dari Waduk Darma, 38 individu dari Situ Kemang, dan 75 individu dari Situ Kemuning. Hasil analisis kluster didapatkan bahwa populasi Cherax quadricarinatus yang berasal dari Situ Kemuning memiliki kekerabatan lebih dekat dengan Situ Kemang dibandingkan dengan Waduk Darma. Adanya perbedaan karakter morfometrik diduga terjadi karena perbedaan kondisi lingkungan pada ketiga populasi. Analisis diskriminan menunjukkan bahwa C. quadricarinatus yang beraal dari Waduk Darma, Situ Kemang, dan Situ Kemuning masing-masing terklasifikasi dengan tepat yaitu sebesar 100%, 63,2%, dan 76%. Sementara itu, terdapat 4 karakter utama yang dapat membedakan populasi dari semua lokasi (C4, B5, D6, dan A6).

Abstract:
Abstract There have been reported around 11 aquatic invasive alien species (IAS) found in Malaysian waters. Cherax quadricarinatus, or commonly known as Australian redclaw crayfish, is one of the invasive species. C. quadricarinatus has the potential of causing negative impacts ecologically and economically in the local environment as it has reported in several countries if they get established and not monitored properly. Habitat alteration, native species depletion and spreading of diseases are among the reported negative impacts of C. quadricarinatus. This study was conducted with the aim to assess the genetic diversity of C. quadricarinatus from 4 different populations. Uncovering the diversity and population structure of the redclaw crayfish will help in enhancing the understanding of adaptation and survival of C. quadricarinatus. Thus, the information can be used in monitoring and management of this invasive crayfish in future. DNA of C. quadricarinatus was successfully extracted from its tissue and amplified via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) 16S gene then proceeded for sequencing and analysed using several genetic analysis software to understand the diversity, phylogeny and population structure of this invasive crayfish species. A total of 493 bp fragments of 32 samples from four sampling sites were obtained. Four haplotypes were observed which Hap-1 was the most common haplotype. The highest genetic variation is Selangor (Pi = 0.00248, Hd = 0.694). However, low levels of both haplotype and nucleotide diversity indicates the loss of genetic diversity. Analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) results revealed that the percentage of genetic variation within the population was 69.58% while among populations was 30.42%, indicating significant genetic differentiation among population (P < 0.05). The maximum likelihood tree showed that all haplotypes were clustered and grouped together with United States, Czech Republic, China and Australia.

<p><em>Cherax quadricarinatus</em> is one of freshwater crayfish species that has enormous potential for expanding its farming in future. Application of monosex male culture using steroid sex hormone administration method during the period of sex differentiation or early developmental stage might be increased efficiency in farming. This study was aimed to increase male of <em>C</em>. <em>quadricarinatus</em> by oral administration of diet containing 17α-methyltestosterone (MT) towards production efficiency. Two-week-old of <em>Cherax quadricarinatus</em> were fed ad libitum on diets containing various dose of MT, i.e., 25, 50, 75, 100 and 150 mg/kg diet or diet containing no MT as control, 3 times daily for 30 days. After MT-treatment, crayfish were fed frozen <em>Chironomus</em> sp. and shrimp diet. Sex ratio, survival and growth rate (by length and weight) were observed at the end of experiment. Sex was determined by visual observation; the male sex organ is located at the fifth walking leg while the female is at the third. Data was analyzed by F and BNT tests. The results of study show that administration of MT was significantly changed the male ratio of crayfish. Treatment dose of 50 mg/kg diet was effective to increase male sex percentage from 24.93% (control) to be 59.96%. Growth was also significantly being improved, while survival rate was insignificant. Thus, oral administration of MT is an effective way to increase male sex percentage of crayfish, although other methods and the time of hormone administration are needed to be verified to obtain maximal results.</p> <p>Keywords: monosex, 17α-methyltestosterone, sex reversal, <em>Cherax quadricarinatus</em></p> <p> </p> <p>ABSTRAK</p> <p>Salah satu jenis lobster air tawar yang berpotensi tinggi untuk dikembangkan usaha budidayanya adalah <em>Cherax quadricarinatus</em>. Aplikasi teknik budidaya tunggal kelamin (monoseks) dengan metode pemberian hormon seks steroid yang diberikan pada saat diferensiasi kelamin atau masa perkembangan awal ikan diduga dapat meningkatkan efisiensi usaha. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk meningkatkan persentase <em>C</em>. <em>quadricarinatus</em> jantan menggunakan metode seks reversal melalui pemberian pakan yang mengandung 17α-metiltestosteron (MT) sebagai upaya efisiensi produksi. <em>C</em>. <em>quadricarinatus</em> umur 2 minggu diberi pakan yang mengandung MT dengan dosis 25, 50, 75, 100 dan 150 mg/kg pakan atau tanpa hormon secara <em>ad libitum</em>, 3 kali sehari selama 30 hari. Setelah perlakuan lobster uji diberi pakan alami <em>Chironomus</em> sp. beku dan pakan udang. Parameter yang diamati meliputi nisbah kelamin, kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhannya (panjang dan berat mutlak), yang dilakukan pada akhir penelitian. Identifikasi jenis kelamin dilakukan secara visual; alat kelamin lobster jantan terdapat pada bagian pangkal kaki jalan kelima, yang betina terletak pada bagian dasar kaki jalan ketiga. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji F dan BNT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian hormon MT berpengaruh nyata terhadap persentase kelamin jantan lobster. Perlakuan dengan dosis 50 mg/kg pakan efektif untuk meningkatkan persentase jantan <em>C</em>.<em> quadricarinatus</em> dari 24,93% (kontrol) menjadi 59,96%. Pertumbuhan panjang dan berat mutlak juga menunjukkan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata, sementara kelangsungan hidup tidak berbeda. Freshwater crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) as an invasive species has high capability to adapt in most waters in Indonesia. The extant distribution of this species in Indonesia causes observation of morphological characters is important to be established. This study purpose is to compare the morphological characters of Cherax quadricarinatus from several locations in Indonesia waters, such as the river in Bintan Island, Toba Lake, and Lido Lake. The total of morphological characters was measured in twenty-two characters. The result of the Kruskal-Wallis test represented nine different characters between Toba, Bintan, and Lido. Cluster analysis illustrated the highest level of similarities between Toba and Lido. The growth rate of the dactyls, and carapace width, and ocular carapace length between Toba and Lido were similar, meanwhile between Toba and Bintan were different. C. quadricarinatus originating from river waters in Bintan Island has a different morphological character from Lake Lido and Lake Toba. The differences in morphological characters between locations are caused by differences in habitat characteristics in rivers and lakes.

An experiment was designed to assess the relative performance of three shelter types on the survival and growth of red-claw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus). A 13 days old juvenile crayfish with an average length of 10 mm were cultured in 400 ml water of glass bowl and were provided with one of 3 types of shelter over 19 days. The various shelter types assessed were dried coconut leaves, bamboo and Hydrilla. Juveniles in each bowl were fed with Artemia twice a day morning and in the afternoon. There was no significant effect (P>0.05) of shelter type on the survival rate; however, there was a significant effect (P<0.05) on growth with dried coconut leaves (5.33%) performing significantly better than Hydrilla (2.33%) and bamboo (2.00%). The Australian red claw freshwater crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus is one of the most widely distributed and cultivated freshwater crayfish due to its high tolerance towards various environmental conditions. Native to North Australia and South Papua New Guinea, this crayfish was found in Tambakboyo Retention Basin in 2016 and Sermo Reservoir in 2019. This research was aimed to identify the morphological and molecular characters of C. quadricarinatus collected from Sermo Reservoir and Tambakboyo Retention Basin, Yogyakarta. The genetic information of the samples was compared to Australian red claw freshwater crayfish currently available. The methodology used for this research are morphological, morphometrical, meristic identification, and molecular identification using the PCR method. The primer used to be 1471 primers as the forward primer and 1472 primers as the reverse primer. In conclusion, all six specimens obtained were identified to be C. quadricarinatus. Morphological analysis using UPGMA showed that all specimens were formed one big cluster and has the highest similarity index (1.00). Molecular analysis using BLAST showed that specimen from Sermo Reservoir was 98.96% identical to C. quadricarinatus and specimen from Tambakboyo Retention Basin was 100% identical to C. quadricarinatus. Thus concluding that based on their morphological and molecular character, all samples of this study were C. quadricarinatus. This finding also contributes to the distribution information of C. quadricarinatus in Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta

In the Australian red-claw crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus (von Martens) (Decapoda, Parastacidae), a gonochoristic species, seven different combinations of intersex individuals (with both male and female genital openings) have been described. However, to date, the genetic basis for this phenomenon has not been investigated. This study was designed to test a simple chromosome-based sex-determination model for C. quadricarinatus that assumes the male to be the homogametic (ZZ) sex. According to our model, intersex individuals that are functionally males are genetically females (WZ). Individual crosses were performed between intersex and female crayfish, with control crosses being performed between normal males and females. The control crosses yielded, in most cases, the expected 1[ratio ]1 sex ratio in the F1 progeny. Crosses between intersex individuals and females yielded a 1[ratio ]3 (male[ratio ]female) sex ratio in most crosses. According to our hypothesis, one-third of the females produced in a cross of a female with an intersex animal should be WW females. The hypothesis was tested by crossing normal males with F1 females, which were progeny of intersex fathers. These crosses yielded almost 100% females, a finding that conforms to the above-suggested sex determination model for C. quadricarinatus and the female WZ genotype of intersex individuals.

Abstract This study aims to determine the organoletic and chemical characteristics of freshwater crayfish carapace flour. The treatment was drying in an oven at a temperature of 80°C for 24 hours. The parameters analyzed were the amount of yield, organoleptic value and proximate value. Based on the results of the study, the yield was 92.45%. The organoleptic value is based on the percentage of consumer acceptance test that likes color 98.25%, taste 95%, aroma 90%, and texture 95%, with the characteristics of bright reddish color, savory taste, not too fishy aroma, and dry and smooth texture. The chemical characteristics are: water content (4.24%), protein (15.37.%), fat (2.07%), ash (4.2%), non-nitrogen extract material 1.63% and crude fiber 19.86%. From the data From these results it can be concluded that freshwater carapace flour can be used as a fortification material in processed products.

Cherax quadricarinatus has been widely translocated within Australia, and a number of self-sustaining feral populations have established, and persisted, in central-eastern Australia for over 20 years: however, the biology and ecology of feral populations remain poorly understood. Using the loss-by-ignition method, this study investigated differences in the total content of incombustible material (as a proxy for total mineral content), between feral C. quadricarinatus populations in southeast Queensland and northeastern New South Wales. A total of 102 C. quadricarinatus were ignited, and percent total incombustible material was not proportional to the body size, or gender of the crayfish. Incombustible content was however, significantly different between some locations of capture (i.e., waterbodies). The site where incombustible content in crayfish was atypical, Lake Ainsworth, is a naturally acidic coastal lake, and we suggest that acidity and low concentration of calcium in that waterbody are likely responsible for the difference in mineral content detected in that population. Mechanism(s) driving the difference detected in the Lake Ainsworth population are unknown, but we suggest the acidic environment could directly impact maintenance of internal calcium reserves in the crayfish (intermoult), during recalcification of the cuticle (postmoult), or both. Limited calcium availability in the lake may also be a direct, or indirect, contributing factor. The ability of C. quadricarinatus to occupy acidic habitats while managing biomineralization challenges possibly could enable additional range-expansion of the species, and potential impacts on both endangered ecological communities and other biota occupying the acidic coastal habitats of Eastern Australia.

In commercial ponds, numbers of Diceratocephala boschmai, a temnocephalid ectocommensal on the crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus, were lowest in spring (October-December) and highest in autumn (April). Worm numbers on host crayfish increased over the summer breeding period (December-April) when moulting stopped and decreased during the winter (April-October) when hosts were moulting. The number of worms correlated positively with host size. P>D. boschmai showed low host specificity in the laboratory. Worms developed and deposited eggs on five different species of Cherax (C. cuspidatus, C. depressus, C. destructor, C. tenuimanus and C. quadricarinatus). Worms did not survive on the shrimp Macrobrachium spp. because of the grooming habits of these hosts. The health of crayfish was not significantly affected by infestations with D. boschmai. Worms were not found in the branchial chamber and so were not associated with respiratory distress. They ate damaged crayfish eggs but did not attack healthy eggs.

In Tondano lake, C. quadricarinatus has developed and become fishing target using traps and spearguns. The purpose of this survey is to describe the freshwater lobster catching using traps, and to know the length-weight relationships, growth pattern and condition factor. The study was expected to use as information on the presence of C. quadricarinatus Tondano Lake. Catches were red claw, C. quadricrinatus, marble sleeper Oxyeleotris marmorata, Mud gudgeon Ophieleotris aporos, Mozambique tilapia Oreochromis mossambicus and African sharptooth catfish Clarias Gariepinus. Length-weight relationship of C. quadricarinatus was W = -1.8005 + 4.2765 log L for males, W = -1.2978 + 3.6524 log L for females, respectively, and W = -1.5631 + 3.9848 log b for combined sexes. They had positive allometric (A +) growth. Abstract:
This study was aimed to examine the different natural feeds on the maturnity of freshwater crayfish. The study was conducted on November 20th - January 21th 2021 in the UPTD BBI Lukup Badak, Takengon, Aceh Tengah. Test fish used is seed of cherax quadricarinatus measuring 52-75 g. Methods used in this study was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments in this study were P1 (Tubifex), P2 (505 tubifex, 255 carrots, and 25% sweet potatoes), P3 (50% tubifex, 25% bean sprouts, and 25% sweet potatoes), and P4 (50% tubifex, 25% papaya, and 25% sweet potatoes). Seeds of fish was put in a container maintenance with 42 liters of water volume and density of 1 tails per container. Frequency of feeding was 3 times a day at 08.00 am, 16.00 pm and 20.00 pm. The results showed that different natural feeding teratments had a very significant effect on the absolute weight and gonad maturity indexs (IKG).Keywords: Absolute weight, Cherax quadricarinatus, Gonad, Natural feed.

Abstract Lobster is among freshwater crustaceans which is potentially cultivated in aquaculture system. This present study was conducted to determine the growth and survival rate of freshwater lobster Cherax quadricarinatus fed different forage feed. The experimental methode used a completely randomized design consisted of 4 treatments in triplicate: commercial diet (PL), commercial diet and carrots (PW), commercial diet and potatoes (PK) and commercial diet and sweet potatoes (PU). The experimental lobsters were 5-7 cm in size and 6-8 g in weight. Results indicated that forage feeding can affect the total weight and length, weight gain, specific growth rate and survival rate of lobster. Data showed the best weight gain and specific growth rate were found in PW (34.37±0.30%) and (1.05±0.03%), respectively. The lowest survival rate was seen in PU at 86.67%. However, the best feed conversion ratio gained by PL at 1.74±0.09. This study suggested that the combination of commercial diet with carrots provided the best growth performances in freshwater lobster Cherax quadricarinatus.

Lobster air tawar menghadapi banyak hambatan dalam upaya peningkatan produksi lobster air tawar seperti tingkat pertumbuhan yang kurang optimal serta tingginya tingkat kematian pada fase pasca larva, salah satunya karena faktor salinitas. Domestikasi merupakan suatu cara pengadopsian hewan dalam suatu populasi yang hampir punah (terancam kelestariannya) dari kehidupan liar (habitat asli) ke dalam lingkungan budidaya.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa salinitas berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap pola osmoregulasi, pertumbuhan, dan efisiensi pakan. Pola osmoregulasi lobster air tawar pada perlakuan S3 (14 ppt) mengalami pola osmoregulasi isosmotik, sedangkan S4 (21 ppt) mengalami pola osmoregulasi hiperosmotik. TKO terendah terdapat pada perlakuan S3 (14 ppt) sebesar 30,54±0,01 mOsml/l H20, sedangkan pada perlakuan S4 (21 ppt) memiliki TKO tertinggi yaitu sebesar 287,82±0,04 mOsml/l H20. Laju pertumbuhan mutlak terbaik pada perlakuan S3 (14 ppt) yaitu 3,51 gr dan efisiensi pakan pada perlakuan S3 (14 ppt) sebesar 20,04%.

Abstract:
The article describes Australian red claw crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus, which is currently one of the most promising cultivation targets. However, to increase production volumes, it is necessary to improve cultivation technologies, which should be based on the data of physiological and biochemical parameters. An objective method for monitoring the physiological state of Australian red claw crayfish in the artificial conditions is determining its hematological and biochemical indicators that complement the general characteristics of hemolymph and later define its physiological norm. When giving the objects the compound feed, which the authors produced by their own recipe, there was recorded a high level of total hemolymph protein of 40.8 ± 4.5 g/l. According to the results of biochemical research, the cholesterol content in the hemolymph of Australian crayfish was 3.2 ± 0.6 mmol/l, and the concentration of lipoproteins was 0.8 ± 0.2 g/l (levels within the reference values). When considering the hemogram of hemolymph there were found the dominant types and linear dimensions of native formed elements. The diameter of agranulocytes in Australian freshwater crayfish varied from 85 to 90 μm, semi-granulocytes - from 90 to 95 μm, granulocytes - from 65 to 78 μm, transparent cells differed by greater variability in size, which ranged from 85 to 120 μm. The part of granulocytes in relation to other shaped elements exceeded 50%, for transparent cells it turned out to be above 20%, for semi-granulocytes - about 15% and for agranulocytes - about 5%, which means that the latter form the rarest group. The established ratios are specific for Cherax quadricarinatus, its hemocytic characteristics greatly differs from Astacus leptodactylus, which is the main object of comparative research. The results of comparative analysis of the cellular composition of the hemolymph of the Australian freshwater crayfish Cherax quadricarinatus (Von Martens, 1868) demonstrate the taxonomic specificity of this representative of freshwater aquaculture

Title (Bahasa Indonesia): Uji fisik pakan lobster air tawar, Cherax quadricarinatus, yang menggunakan beberapa bahan perekat The objective of this study was to evaluate the physical parameters of feed for freshwater crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) using different glutens. This study used a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. Treatment A was feed with starch gluten, treatment B was feed with sago gluten, treatment C was feed with seaweed gluten and treatment D was a commercial feed (control). ANOVA showed that the treatments gave a significant effect (P <0.05) on the breaking rate in the water, sinking speed, homogeneity, and hardness. The results showed that feed using seaweed gluten is very good to use. Feed with starch gluten was also better than feed of sago gluten. However, for sinking speed, control diet and starch gluten-based feed were faster than that of seaweed gluten. The result for water quality analysis including temperature, pH, DO and ammonia during the study showed tolerable ranges for freshwater crayfish. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara fisik pakan lobster air tawar (Cherax quadricarinatus) yang menggunakan beberapa bahan perekat. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan A pakan dengan bahan perekat kanji, perlakuan B pakan dengan bahan perekat sagu, perlakuan C pakan dengan bahan perekat rumput laut dan perlakuan D adalah pakan komersil (kontrol). Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa antara perlakuan memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kecepatan pecah pakan dalam air, dispersi pakan, kecepatan tenggelam, homogenitas, dan tingkat kekerasan. Pakan dengan bahan perekat rumput laut sangat baik untuk digunakan. Pakan dengan bahan perekat tepung kanji juga lebih baik dibandingkan pakan berbahan perekat sagu. Tetapi untuk kecepatan tenggelam pakan kontrol dan pakan berbahan perekat kanji lebih cepat dibandingkan pakan berbahan perekat rumput laut. Hasil analisis kualitas air meliputi suhu, pH, DO dan amonia selama penelitian menunjukkan masih dalam batas kisaran yang bisa ditoleransi lobster air tawar.
