Abstract:

The project objective was to perform laboratory tests of the SETUR DVE 120 bladeless turbine and to analyse its measured parameters. Operating characteristics were then determined based on the measured values. The measurement was performed in a closed hydraulic testing circuit in a laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. The first part of the article describes the workplace and the method of measurement of the main and the auxiliary parameters. The second part deals with the turbine characteristics. The characteristics describe the relationship between the water flow rate and the usable water gradient and between the water flow rate and the electrical power output of DVE 120, which is important from the user’s point of view. The conclusion features a comparison of the bladeless turbine operating characteristics (dependency of the overall efficiency on the waterpower) and the characteristics of the Francis turbine.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is by combination of the graph theory and Markowitz portfolio theory to illustrate how some graph characteristics are related to the diversification potential of individual portfolio-forming stocks. Using the graph characteristic, the vertex eccentricity, individual stocks are divided into two groups: a group of large and group of small eccentricity. Eccentricity in this context is considered to be a very suitable metric of the centrality of individual vertices. Different price histories (5 to 30 years) of the Standard and Poor’s index are analyzed. Using the simulation analysis, samples of mentioned groups are generated and then tested by means of comparison to show that larger eccentricity samples, representing stocks on the periphery of the minimum spanning tree of the graph, have a higher potential for diversification than those found in the center of the graph. The results published in the article can be a practical guide for an individual investor during the portfolio creation process and help him/her with decision-making about stock selection.

Abstract:

The results of modeling the properties of the semiconductor solid solution Lu1-xScxNiSb, x=0–0.10, which is a promising thermometric material for the manufacture of sensitive elements of thermocouples, are presented. Modeling of the electronic structure of Lu1-xScxNiSb was performed by the Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker (KKR) method in the approximation of coherent potential and local density and by the full-potential method of linearized plane waves (FLAPW). KKR simulations were performed using the AkaiKKR software package in the local density approximation for the exchange-correlation potential with parameterization Moruzzi, Janak, Williams. The Elk software package was used in the FLAPW calculations. To check the limits of the existence of the thermometric material Lu1-xScxNiSb by the KKR method, the change of the values of the period of the unit cell a(x) in the range x=0–0.10 was calculated. It is established that the substitution of Lu atoms in the crystallographic position 4a by Sc atoms is accompanied by a decrease in the values of the unit cell period a(x) Lu1-xScxNiSb. This behavior of a(x) Lu1-xScxNiSb is since the atomic radius Sc (rSc=0.164 nm) is smaller than that of Lu (rLu=0.173 nm). In this case, structural defects of neutral nature are generated in Lu1-xScxNiSb, because the atoms Lu (5d 1 6s 2 ) and Sc (3d 1 4s 2 ) are located in the same group of the Periodic Table of the Elements and contain the same number of d-electrons. To study the conditions for obtaining thermometric material Lu1-xScxNiSb, x=0–0.10, and to establish the energy feasibility of its formation in the form of a continuous solid solution, modeling of thermodynamic characteristics in the approximation of harmonic oscillations of atoms within the DFT density functional theory. The low values of the enthalpy of mixing ΔHmix(x) and the nature of the dependence behavior indicate the energy expediency of substitution in the crystallographic position 4a of Lu atoms for Sc atoms and the existence of a solid substitution solution for the studied samples Lu1-xScxNiSb, x=0–0.10. To understand the mechanisms of electrical conductivity of the thermometric material Lu1-xScxNiSb, x=0–0.10, various models of crystal and electronic structures of the basic semiconductor LuNiSb are considered. Assuming that the crystal structure of Lu1-xScxNiSb is ordered (crystallographic positions are occupied by atoms according to the MgAgAs structural type), the Elk software package was used to model the DOS electronic state density distribution for LuNiSb and Lu0.875Sc0.125NiSb. It is shown that in the LuNiSb compound the Fermi level lies in the middle of the band gap , and the bandwidth is =190.5 meV. DOS simulations for the ordered variant of the Lu0.875Sc0.125NiSb crystal structure show a redistribution of the density of DOS electronic states and an increase in the band gap . In this case, the Fermi level , as in the case of LuNiSb, lies in the middle of the band gap , and the generated structural defects are neutral. The DOS calculation for the disordered variant of the crystal structure of the LuNiSb compound was performed using a model that can be described by the formula Lu1+yNi1-2ySb. In this model, the Lu atoms partially move to the 4c position of the Ni atoms, and in this position, a vacancy (y) occurs simultaneously. Moreover, as many Lu atoms additionally move to the 4c position of Ni atoms, so many vacancies arise in this position. In this model of the crystal structure of the LuNiSb compound and the absence of vacancies (y=0), the calculation of the DOS electronic state density distribution indicates the presence of the band gap εg , and the Fermi level εF lies near the valence band εV. In the model of the structure of the LuNiSb compound at vacancy concentrations y=0.01, the DOS calculation also shows the presence of the band gap εg , and the Fermi level εF still lies near the valence band εV. Since Ni atoms make the greatest contribution to the formation of the conduction band εC, even at a concentration of y=0.02, the DOS calculation shows that the Fermi level εF now lies near the conduction band εC. This means that the main carriers of the electric current of the LuNiSb compound at y=0.02 are electrons, which does not correspond to the results of experimental studies. Based on the above model of the disordered crystal structure of the LuNiSb compound, the density distribution of DOS electronic states was calculated for the disordered variant of the crystal structure of the thermometric material Lu1-xScxNiSb, which is described by the formula Lu1-x+yScxNi1-2ySb. In this model of the Lu1-xScxNiSb crystal structure, the calculation of the DOS electronic state density distribution shows the presence of a band gap εg , in which small energy levels ("tail tails") are formed, which overlap with the zones of continuous energies. In this case, the Fermi level εF is localized at low energy levels, which makes it impossible to accurately determine the depth from the Fermi level εF. The proposed model is correct only for a small number of impurity Sc atoms since the partial occupation of the 4c position of Ni atoms by Lu atoms significantly deforms the structure with its subsequent decay. The results of experimental studies of the kinetic, energy, and magnetic properties of the thermometric material Lu1-xScxNiSb will show the degree of adequacy of the proposed model.

Abstract:

This investigation is aimed at the determination of the effect of sugar alcohols sorbitol and isomalt on the sorption properties of hard candy. The equilibrium isotherms of two kinds of hard candy containing sorbitol and isomalt, respectively, were obtained by means of the static gravimetric method at a temperature of 20°C. The isomalt-containing candy proved to sorb less moisture under equal conditions. The Peleg model was found suitable for the description of the sorption isotherms of hard candy.

Abstract:

A review of the principles construction of existing high voltage measuring amplifiers (HVMA) was carried out. Their frequency range was investigated. It is proposed to use a circuit of additively connected operational amplifiers with virtual power to achieve the limiting frequencies of 400 kHz and a voltage of 500V. Several models of the circuit in the circuit simulator were investigated. It was found that to compensate for the phase shift of the output signal it is necessary to use boosting capacitances and a circuit with independent feedback. References 11, figures 5, tables 3.

Abstract:

The adjustment for the firm capital structure is unclear from perspectives of trade-off theory, pecking order theory, life cycle theory, market timing theory, and free cash flow theory, since many research findings contradict each other. Adjustments for the capital structure are complex, since the conditions for each firm are different. The objective of this study is to provide empirical evidence of how firms adjust capital structure in relationship with maturity in context of trade-off, pecking order, free cash flow, and market timing theory. In terms of hypotheses testing, this study conducts logistic regression analysis with 138 Indonesian public firms as the sample in the observed period from 2010 to 2015. To distinguish the results, this study controls the sample by size and age based on the median. The study reports that preferences for the source of funds based on the cost of capital, internal conflict, and firm maturity indicate adjustments for the firm capital structure. Based on Indonesian firms, the form of capital structure in developing countries can refer to a single model or a combination of the trade-off model and pecking order model, as well as market timing.

Abstract:

Allergic diseases(AD) are one of the most urgent problems of modern medicine. The prevalence of bronchial asthma in children and adults in the Bukhara region was studied. The primary incidence of bronchial asthma in the age structure of the population was studied according to the coupons of an outpatient patient (form No. 025-12u) for 2015–2019 in 10 age groups (1–5 years, 5–9 years, 10–14, 19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60 and older) in the city of Bukhara and twelve districts of the Bukhara region.The study of the distribution of indicators of the incidence of bronchial asthma in the Bukhara region revealed that the areas of risk for this pathology are areas with industrial zones: Karakul, Karulbazar and the city of Kagan. The risk groups for the incidence of bronchial asthma are children under 9 years of age and adults aged 60 years and older. The prevalence of bronchial asthma ranges from 5.5 per 1,000 population in relatively clean areas of residence to 33.5 per 1,000 population in industrialized areas.Thus, the study showed that the highest incidence of general morbidity with bronchial asthma in children and adults is observed in the city of Kagan with the operation of an oil extraction plant, in the Karaulbazar district with an oil refinery and in the Karakul district with a Kandim gas processing plant. An increased risk of primary incidence of bronchial asthma exists for children aged 3 to 9 years and for adults 60 years of age and older.

The quality of nursing services has a direct impact on the level of client satisfaction. The marketing wave of health services has now changed from the era of service excellence to the era of care with character so that caring behavior is the main principle in the quality of nursing services. This research is a quantitative research using a cross sectional approach. This research has been conducted at the Regional General Hospital Dr. Iskak Tulungagung and the Blambangan Regional General Hospital Banyuwangi. Respondents involved in this study amounted to 180 respondents. The research variables are Organizational Characteristics, Individual Chatacteristics, Work Characteristics, Technological Factors, Culture-based Caring, Quality of Nursing Work Life, and Quality of Nursing Services. The data in this study were analyzed using quantitative analysis techniques using SEM PLS. Organizational characteristics enhance culture-based caring. Individual characteristics enhance culture-based caring. Work characteristics enhance culture-based caring. Technological factors increase culture-based caring.

Abstract:

Forceful measures have been taken in the past decade to reduce the pollution loads of pulp and paper mills. Besides more effective external waste water treatment, internal arrangements have been made to reduce pollution loads, e.g. by closing water systems. New processes and technically improved machines and equipment have made it possible to utilize raw materials and chemicals more efficiently. This has also reduced the pollution loads of the mills. In the 1970s, pollution loads were restricted by environmental laws and regulations in many countries, and the restrictions will become tighter during the 1980s. This will require much research and development. In this paper, characteristics of effluents (BOD, suspended solids, colour, TOC, COD, toxicity) discharged from chemical and mechanical pulping processes and from paper and board mills are presented in general terms and by mill department. Process developments and effects of these developments on pollution loads are described and future trends are discussed.
