Full textThere are different definitions of what a leader is, what is good leadership and there are a variety of leadership types. A leader of a team is someone who usally primarily responsible to plan the training. Today is it a higher burden on the coach and it requires more planning in order to achieve good results at high level. The purpose of this study is to investigate the elite coach´s vision of becoming and being elite coaches. The method was a qualitative method where eight interviews have been conducted. The results show that most of the coaches have similar characteristics and way of thinking. In addition, all the coaches have training linked to sport and a few have also studied at university. The main characteristics of a coach according to respondents is that elite coaches should be good at communicating, have a positive attitude and be clear. They should also be considerate, to have good skills and targets.

Full textThis study is a discursive analysis of two cinematographic trilogies produced between the years 2005-2013: The Dark Knight (Nolan, 2005, 2008, 2012) and Iron Man (Favreau 2008, 2010; Black, 2013). Both were produced at the height of 'The War on Terror', which encompasses the post 9-11 administration of President George W. Bush. In all of the movie industry's history, the highest profit yielding superhero has been none other than Batman, whose trilogy The Dark Knight is based on the comic miniseries Batman Year One (1988) by Frank Miller—the darkest rendition of the cult superhero-. As for Iron Man, this persona has been well received by the public. The movie Iron Man 3 is one of the top five highest grossing films of all time on the world market. It is without a doubt, the representation par excellence of the superhero in liquid times. Both trilogies permeate the mediascape of the past few years as cultural practices in which the image of the superhero stands out as a hegemonic system of representation justifying or legitimating an interventionist foreign policy under the guise of security. The war unfolds on the big screen and it is in the art of representation that this thesis takes place. Superheroes as icons of American popular culture have been studied at length. However, this study, inspired by the works of Stuart Hall on "radical contextualism" and on "conjuncturalism", an essential component to the problem statement, emphasizes analysis from a semiotic- discursive and interdisciplinary perspective and builds on the work done by Julieta Haidar.

Full textigdem Erbug April 2004, 184 pages Developments in the usability discipline have lead to new paths in new product development processes. The methods for development of usable products are abundant and the area is crescent for new research. One of the concerns in usability lies in the question of employment of user centered design in the prevailing product development processes. In this study, it is aimed to be clarified that inquiry into the use context should be an initial step in user centered design. However, use context is one of the less explored areas of usability. Detailed examinations of contextual factors may open paths to new methods of integrating usability into products. This study aims to take a step towards the analysis of the impact of socio economic factors on usability of product. A field study is made in order to acquire a deeper understanding. Samples of two different socio-economic groups are defined from the marketing perspective. Contextual factors are specified on the example of washing machines. Comparison of problems between the users from the two socio economic groups shed light on the relationship between socio economic variables and usability problems.

Healthy city, developed and managed by city area in recent years, is the important local action. A city is not only the economic system of humanity life, but also to be the living area in which people live, grow up with happy and carefree minds. However, disaster emerged continuously has caused people to worry about the development of environment. Therefore, how to master properties of disaster, which prevent city disaster from being emerged and promote the safety of environment, should be the important topic about city precaution against natural calamities’ plan, and should be also the one of key points to live city in which we practice healthy and safety. This article about spatial Characteristic of city calamity is the major researching focus. The article tries to instance Tainan City in Taiwan, and collect datum in the 119 emergency and rescue command center. To show the datum of historical disaster, through the way of statistics and analysis, combining with spatial analysis instruments in Geographic Information System (GIS), via spatial Geo-coding mapping which is a transformation system about disaster’s position, the calamites over the past three years are examined about the spatial gathering and spreading features and occurring potential Hot Area, and the spatial property of city calamity and relation of local land used are analyzed. To proceed in the simulation analysis of emergency rescue services standard, the performance of emergency response facilities and location characteristics of potential demands are major focus, further applying GIS and performing Maximal-Covering Location Problem with Lagrangian Relaxation. All about this result could not only analyze city humanity calamities spatial characteristics and rescue facilities performance and potential demand features, but could be the reference of rescue facilities distribution in the future.

Abstract In this thesis, the ground fault characteristics of closed-loop very high voltage(VHV) underground distribution system (VHV underground loop) are studied which includes the ground potential rises(GPR), step and touch voltages on the utility and customer substation grounding systems and the current distributions on the cable shielding conductors. The grounding conditions of cable shielding conductors are considered which includes common grounding or individual grounding for the cables in the man-holes, the variation of grounding resistances and the on or off states of the surge arresters in the cable-cover-protection unit(CCPU). For a VHV underground loop, the grounding grids in utility and customer substation and the grounding electrodes in the man-holes are connected together via cable shielding conductors and interconnected conductors (auxiliary grounding wires). So, the ground fault current of any one of customer will flow pass through all other customers’ grounding systems and thus produce GPR, step and touch voltages and large current on shielding conductors or flow into surge arresters. These problems have been found from the study results and their affections are also assessed, and this study provide useful data for improving the performances of VHV underground loop. Keyword: very high voltage underground loop, cable grounding

Full textIn three of J. M. Coetzee’s recent novels, Disgrace (1999), Elizabeth Costello (2003), and Slow Man (2005), the South African author explores notions of authorship and challenges the possibilities of the sympathetic imagination. The notion of the sympathetic imagination has roots in Romanticism, and it connotes inhabiting another in order to understand or interpret. Romantic poet John Keats described the poet as “continually in for [sic] and filling some other body” (Letter to Richard Woodhouse), and Coetzee addresses the notion of the sympathetic imagination in his work. There are two facets of the sympathetic imagination: that which governs social relations and that which authors and creative minds attempt to claim as a driving force behind their work. It is important not to conflate the two separate facets of the sympathetic imagination. The social facet encourages good citizenship and allows humankind to behave in humane ways. It counters one’s private desire for mastery and balances self-interest with self-sacrifice; the sympathetic imagination helps others attain their goals and places others’ needs alongside one’s own selfishness. A sympathetic imagination is an essential quality in society, yet it will always yield only partial success. It cannot achieve complete success because truly inhabiting and embodying another living person is simply impossible, but in fiction, Coetzee explores the possibilities and limits of the sympathetic imagination at the level of language and metaphor. The other facet of the sympathetic imagination is often claimed by authors, poets, and artists to allow them to inhabit the subjects of their creativity. Coetzee tests the limits of authorial claims that writing is accomplished by applying a sympathetic imagination. In doing so, he creates metaphysical frames in which his own author-characters interact with other characters to reveal that some characters resist being written. In these metaphysical frames of fiction, Coetzee suggests that an author’s sympathetic imagination will never have total success; he sets forth a notion of partial success that helps address what is gained when the sympathetic imagination runs up against limits. My argument is that the authors and characters in these three novels attempt acts of sympathetic imagination and recurrently encounter limits. Coetzee questions perceived notions of authorship and the possibilities of the sympathetic imagination without offering alternatives. He critiques common notions of authorship and character writing but offers no real solutions.
