Abstract:
Health is something very important and valuable, without a healthy one can not enjoy life. As the times progressed, the types of disease increased with new or even different manifestations of previous symptoms. Medical diagnosis (abbreviated DS or Dx) is the process of determining a disease or condition of symptoms and signs of a person. ARI disease is one type of disease that suffered someone. ARI is an inflammatory process in the area of the respiratory system starting from the top of the nasal cavity, progressing to the pharynx and larynx. ARD disease without good knowledge can lead to erroneous treatment of a disease, may be more severe or even cause death if late helped. One tool that is very helpful in making diagnosis of internal diseases is expert system. Expert system in general is a system that seeks to adopt human computer knowledge, so that the computer can solve problems as is usually done by experts. Hopefully with this system, the layman can solve certain problems either slightly complicated or complicated though without the help of experts in the field As for experts, this system can be used as an experienced assistant. Application of expert system used to diagnose internal diseases by using Forward Chaning method where the diagnosis is done by analyzing the input of symptoms in the form of questions about what is felt by the patient. Input the symptoms are then processed by using certain rules in accordance with the science of experts or general practitioners who previously been stored in the rules of treatment. Analysis results then checked compatibility with the doctor's diagnosis to know the truth. Keywords: Expert System, Diagnosis, ARI, Forward Chaining

Chang, Wei-Lin Melody, and Michael Haugh. "The metapragmatics of “teasing” in Taiwanese Chinese conversational humour." European Journal of Humour Research 8, no. 4 (December 9, 2020): 7. http://dx.doi.org/10.7592/ejhr2020.8.4.chang.

Full text
Abstract:
One of the challenges faced by researchers working on conversational humour across languages is that the particular scientific metalanguage we use to talk about the phenomenon in question influences and shapes our understanding of it. The aim of this paper is to explore the import of such issues for research on conversational humour through an examination of the labels used by Taiwanese speakers of Mandarin Chinese when talking about what is broadly termed “teasing” in English. Our aim is to better understand the connotations of these various native terms, how they relate to each other, and how they are deployed by speakers when referring to “teasing” events. The study draws on interviews with native Taiwanese informants and an analysis of large web-based corpus of Mandarin Chinese, the zhTenTen17 Traditional Corpus, to show that “teasing” is conceptualised in complex ways by Taiwanese speakers of Chinese, and because of that the same “teasing” event is open to construal in different ways by those speakers. We conclude that metapragmatic studies of conversational humour in different languages are important if we are to avoid bleaching out important cultural properties and thereby distorting our objects of analysis.

Abstract:
In this paper we studied the effect of engineering expertise in providing directional judgments. We asked two groups of people, engineers and non-engineers, to observe and memorize five maps, each including a four-point path, for 30 sec. The path was then removed and the participants had to provide two directional judgments: aligned (the imagined perspective on the task was the same as the one just learned), and counter-aligned (the imagined perspective on the task was rotated by 180°). Our results showed that engineers are equally able to perform aligned and counter-aligned directional judgments. The alignment effect due to the distance from the learning perspective was, in fact, shown only by non-engineers. Results are discussed considering engineering both learning expertise and specific predisposition.

Abstract:
Good health care, readers of this journal know, requires more than the physician practicing “evidence-based” medicine, using the wizardry of modern technology in combination with honed diagnostic skills to identify medical troubles and their treatment. It depends on the physician's understanding of the patient's emotional and social needs, and requires skill and sensitivity in relating to patients and their family members.

Abstract:
This article explores the historical development of common-practice musical style and how that development might connect to the cognition of key within the history of Western European tonality. First, musical corpora of 19 composers were divided into three-chord progressions, and these progressions were tallied. The chord tallies were used for a cluster analysis and for measurements of inter-corpus cross entropy. The cluster analysis divided the corpora in ways that conform to historical and stylistic intuitions, and inter-corpus cross entropy was found to correlate with the years separating the corpora. These findings show that the chronological distance between two musical corpora seems to predict compositional similarity and that chord-progression norms are connected to specific historical situations. In order to model how these changes might affect the cognition of musical key, a corpus-sensitive key-finding algorithm was used to decode key within a famous example of musical ambiguity, the opening of Beethoven’s “Eroica” symphony. Each corpus-trained model created a slightly different key interpretation, suggesting that historically situated models of tonal cognition might indeed interpret the same stimulus differently.
