Full textThe innovation of the 21st century has no longer as a mere objective the survival of companies in the market and the stimulation of the growth at the country level. From now on, there is an urgent need to preserve the environment to ensure the development of present and future generations. Therefore, several empirical studies and theoretical accounts place the matter at the heart of innovation and economics fields of research. The first objective of this dissertation is to examine how ‐at a microeconomic level‐ the emergence and diffusion of environmental innovations is impacted by strategic inter‐firm relationships within supply‐chains. In order to achieve this goal, the first chapter shows that a monopoly maintains on the market a low‐quality product in the sole intention to increase his bargaining power against a supplier offering a drastic innovation ‐a costless high‐quality product‐. The second chapter explains how bargaining powers between vertically related firms can influence the adoption choice of environmental technology leading to a sub‐optimal level of depollution or welfare. To deal with this situation, the regulator must adapt its regulatory policy ‐a tax in this case‐ to modify the choice of the polluting firm. However, its intervention may prove insufficient under certain conditions. The second objective of the dissertation is developed in the third chapter which identifies theoretically and empirically the macroeconomic determinants of environmental innovations in order to help the regulator to better target its interventions

Full textDuring the covid-19, the agro-industrial sector continues to prove a significant role in the contribution of Vietnamese economic power. In past decade, international competiveness responding to market trends has brought an intensive wave of investment, technical upgrade, and industrialization. It, then, is expected to increase income and employment in the domestic economy by promoting export and utilizating potential advantages and opportunities. However, Vietnamese commodities have joined the global value chain but only stopped at providing inputs in the form of raw agricultural products, while the added value for them is mainly due to processing, packaging and commercial operations. Firm-level technovation as a nuclear energy of economic growth require a sustained progressive endeavour. Under an open and rich-tech ecosystem, pioneering diversification, upgraded manufacturing and effective complements/services generate co-innovation spillovers amd increase domestic value added. Most firms are becoming increasingly successful and competitive in comparison with their rivals because of their forward-thinking systematic innovation. The agro-technovation process is positioned as a central role that helps to improve the performance of Vietnamese agro-manufacturers. It is essential to be aware of the technovation-competition relationship which helps agro-processing exporter improve their business and respond quickly to market changes. We developed a framework that described how agro-enterprises adopt technological sources successfully into the technovation management process (TMP) by applying the diffusion theory. A qualitative case-study method was conformed to capture the overviews of senior executives and their staff at six typical agro-manufacturing exporters. Under a within- and across-case ananlysis, we examined whether there are two groups (competitive and non-competitive) which can be characterized by technovation performance. Moreover, by assigning six cases to one of four concordant positions, the matrix of agro-technovation performance-competitiveness (APC) as an analytical tool strengthening our classification of competitive and non-competitive groups. Furthermore, application of this matrix help excecutives allocate resources and capital to select and build their own business strategy. In next step, our research also reveals that this sucessful technovation process was initiated simultaneously by the intra-push factor (strategic planning and new HRM practices) and extra-pull factor (intangible assets). We figured that within the internal technovation process, there is occurring a technovation transformation of three flows: organizational knowledge, and organizational behavior and organizational culture in competitive-group cases. Based on a in-depth analysis, we investigated that comprehensive management process which modern technology invested and R&D division established, shaping the co-inovation value chain (CVC).Finally, a desired CVC could be observed with all of the five aspects of visible technovation-outputs explored such a new business model, new value for customers, new customer base, new effective value chain or new products/services. However, for a competitive agro-business, its five visible outputs become resiliently and flexibly once five invisible stabilized pillars (coordination, collaboration, convergence, complementarity and co-creation) had been established before. Through their CVC management practices, agro-manufactures eanable transform their limited technological resources efficiently to achieve the greater competive advantage
Lyu, Fen. "The path of the adoption of digital technology to SMEs’ business performance : evidence from China." Thesis, Paris 1, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020PA01E070.
Full textImpressive developments in digital technology such as big data, virtual reality, cloud computing and artificial intelligence have been continually and thoroughly penetrating various fields, which have reshaped innovation landscape by accelerating growth of internet of everything, data-driven computation, platform support and intelligence industry. The mushrooming of digital technology is accelerating the integration with the real economy, driving the digital innovation to expand with full extent. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are the basic units to promote employment, economic development and innovative activities. They are the largest and most dynamic parts in the market economy and thus digital innovation is central to the survival and growth of Chinese SMEs. Therefore, a clear understanding both of processes by which SMEs develop digital innovation and the benefits which flow from digital innovation in terms of market share and profit level is important. This thesis demonstrates the use of a conceptual framework, the digital innovation value chain (DIVC), and shows how the DIVC approach helps to understand the process in digital innovation for SMEs. The value of the DIVC is expressed in showing the key interrelationships in the process of digital innovation from adoption of digital technology (ADT) through digital innovation to business performance in terms of the market share and profit level. This research empirically showed that the ADT can have a positive influence on both business networks and personal networks for SMEs. Furthermore, the results indicated that heterogeneous networks including business networks and personal networks afforded by ADT allows SMEs to continuously deal with digital innovation activities. We extend existing knowledge about innovation value chain by empirically illustrating the importance of digital technology with respect to digital innovation activities, in particular for digital products innovation, digital service innovation and business model innovation , which has indirect influence on SMEs’ business performance. A key benefit of the DIVC approach is therefore its ability to emphasize the roles of different factors at various chain of the digital source-digital innovation-SMEs’ business performance nexus, and to show their indirect and direct impact. This research provides a contribution in the area of digital innovation aimed at categorizing dimensions of digital innovation by suggesting that digital innovation involve digital products innovation, digital service innovation and business model innovation according to review on previous studies of innovation. It extends existing knowledge about innovation value chain by empirically illustrating the importance of digital technology with respect to digital innovation activities, in particular for digital products innovation, digital service innovation and business model innovation. This research also corresponds with the need to make today’s digital innovation more fluid, thereby facilitating the diversity and flexibility of DIVC with regard to dynamic and boundless environment

Full textValue co-creation practices in the public service consist for a public organization to outsource functions traditionally carried out internally to citizens. It is a social innovation strategy open to the various stakeholders (citizens, users, public managers) where their creativity and knowledge can be mobilized. Despite the wide literature on value co-creation in the market context, it is still limited for the public sector (Engen et al, 2021). In a post-New Public Management spirit where the theory of Public Value Management emerges (Moore 1995; Stoker, 2006), we propose to study a mechanism of citizen participation adopted by the Tunisian public authorities and which is at the crossroads of dynamic social innovation and public management reforms: The Participatory budgeting. Using a qualitative methodology, this work explores the values created and the perceived obstacles of this practice of co-creation of public value. In order to answer the central question, we carried out a multi-level analysis (Desjeux, 2002, 2006). Our results reveal that participatory devices generate public values at different scales: Micro, Meso and Macro. Our results also demonstrate that participatory mechanisms can constrain the creation of public value, or even contribute to its destruction. Our contributions are multiple: interest of value co-creation mechanisms in the public domain, contributions to the theory of Public Value Management, and contributions of multi-level analysis to study a topic rarely treated in the literature on public service
Gharbi, Rim. "Le rôle des communautés virtuelles d'intérêt dans la communication et la co-création de valeur pour les innovations : le cas des énergies renouvelables." Thesis, Montpellier, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016MONTD043.
Full textThis work addresses the issue of the role of virtual communities of interest in the communication and the co-creation of value for renewables as an innovation. Despite the multiplicity and diversity of studies based on virtual communities, both theoretical and practical knowledge of how members of these virtual communities communicate and co-create value for innovation remains limited. In order to better understand the way of communicating, value co-creating and building an approriate analytical and conceptual framework, two complementary theoretical fields were mobilized : the actor-network theory and the lead user theory. Three studies were conducted. A primary study was conducted to identify the various stakeholders in the communication and the management of co-created value within virtual communities’networks of interest in renewables. A second study was conducted on the basis of three « networks of virtual communities of interest in renewable energies » in order to highlight how members of these networks communicate and co-create values for this innovation. A final study based on 28 interviews was conducted to understand how the various stakeholders communicate and manage diverse types of co-created values within virtual communities’networks related to renewables. Results enable to conceptualize two diverse processes. A first process was implemented to show how members of virtual communities communicate and co-create value within virtual communities’networks of interest in renewable energies: the « online user centred co-creation of value and communication of innovation process ». A second process was established in order to implement the strategy of communication and management of co-created value through virtual communities’networks of interest in innovation: the « strategic process of communication and co-creation of value to innovation management within virtual communities’networks ». Moreover, mutual involvement and integration of various actors within virtual communities’networks (such as : users, networks, contributions, co-created values and community managers) enable to communicate, to diffuse, to co-create collectively,to redefine the innovation as a result of a socio-technical system and to foster the «stabilization» of this innovation

Full textThe logistics represents the backbone of the world economy. It physically materialises the commercialcontracts between buyer and seller. Paradoxically, it seems to suffer from a lack of conceptualisation, ofits related structures and determinants. Too often, the logistics chains are mixed up with the supplychains. Also the physical logistics execution and its management are rarely differentiated. As aconsequence, wrong diagnosis are causing other issues, themselves being source of inefficiency, leadingto a kind of entropy. The latter is observable through numerous operational and financial symptoms, and it tends to grow if technological progress is not under control. What shall we do with this new data, information and knowledge? Do we actually have the right knowledge to make good use of it? Thisresearch precisely tries to describe the industry microstructures. It sheds light on the pivotal role of thelogistics management, as well as on the disruptive effects that technological progress could have on itstradition mix of production factors. It tends to show how labour factor could polarise over low and highcognitive tasks supported by human. The negentropic knowledge, using human as a support, would thenbe similar to a high knowledge transfer performance, and could become a source of joint value creation

Full textAbstract : This thesis describes the implementation of corporate culture changes at a Desjardins credit union branch and analyses how the process was achieved while ensuring it was in line with co-operative values and principles in the current context. The research is based on a unique case study for which data was collected in real time over the course of three years of regular observation. The thesis is qualitative in nature and shows the importance of instilling a renewed sense of co-operation among managers and employees, using new metaphors to convey its full meaning. It also stresses the need to better understand the different stages for building a co-operative business culture and provides a three-phrase model for transforming corporate culture within a co-operative business, which adds to the body of work on the topic. Furthermore, the case study provides better information on the crucial role played by the leader and managers and on essential qualities for a successful transition to a co-operative business culture.

Full textIn a competitive environment and with constantly changing lifestyle and consumption habits, the hotel industry offer, and the services built around accommodation and catering as we know its today, do not guaranty the attractiveness, or the profitability, that is needed for this sector to remain sustainable. The modeling of a "new" hotel industry is necessary to meet customer expectations while taking into account the costs and operating constraints, particularly the "hotel industry service" playing a key role in the production and distribution processes of the service as well as in the quality perceived by the customer. The determinants of the hotel operational performance have evolved in different cycles turning the "modern" into "traditional".This thesis begins with the exploration of these developments in mid-ranged hotels in France through a field study conducted in twelve hotels and the headquarters of the AccorHotels group in France. This step, questioning the future of mid-ranged hotels in France, raised research questions wondering about the importance of the staff in the production of mid-ranged hotels products and services in our society, and more broadly, the importance of the human capital (in the microeconomic meaning) in the hotel industry. We decided to explore the links between staff and the hotel operational performance. This performance is composed of economic results, the quality perceived by the customers as well as parameters related to the context of the hotels. Based on an in-depth study of all the methodologies and measures of human capital, we chose to measure it through employee engagement at work, using a sample of 146 mid-range hotels (representing 3740 employees) of the AccorHotels group in France. We also measured, for each hotel, a set of context data (size, location, customer mix, level of digitization, renovations...), the operating result (Earnings Before Interest Taxes), the number of business per room available (RevPar) and a measure of the quality perceived by customers (Reputation Performance Score). This thesis shows the links between the operating result per room, the quality perceived by customers and the commitment of employees to work. We will develop their respective antecedents as well as the nature of their cross-statistical relationships. This thesis prooves that as a significant precedent of the quality perceived by the customers (itself an antecedent of the operating result), the commitment of the collaborators into their work is instrumental in order to obtain a better performance for the mid-ranged hotels in France. To go further, the identification of a typology of hotels based on these links makes us able to obtain simultaneously a global and a segmented view of the mid-range hotel business in France and the role by type of hotels of staff in order to reach a higher performance
Bonaldi, Elisa. "Strategy and Method for the Elaboration, Development and Optimization of an Innovative Recycling Process." Thesis, Université de Lorraine, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015LORR0167/document.
Full textRegulations on product recycling rates, but also growing consciousness on the importance of eco-design, enforce industrials to seek for solutions to recycle their products at their end of life. Growing environmental concerns in the industry allow new business opportunities and require organizational changes to support transition toward more sustainable industrial activities. Building a recycling industrial activity for materials coming from end of life products is a great challenge that requires an analysis of the opportunities and threats and the added value of industrial partners, in the scope of a collaborative project (or a collaborative network). This kind of projects aims at designing a new recycling supply chain and to design a new product that will be manufactured by this supply chain. R&D collaborative projects enable to gather complementary competencies in order to propose solutions to increase the recycling rate on the territory. Nowadays, experiences such as collaborative projects are witnessed, giving various new business possibilities in the recycling industry. However, a literature review we have performed points out that there is no existing method permitting to analyze the opportunity of a recycling value chain and to guide industrials in the definition of a “recycling collaborative project”. Moreover, for such projects, the selection of the partners is of great issue for the industrials. Indeed, the values brought by the partners make the interest of the project and favor the success of the collaboration. However, there is no existing method to choose R&D collaborative project partners efficiently in the scope of the recycling industry. A literature review presents the industrial and scientific state of the art and highlights the existing best practices in order to take them into account for the proposal of an original contribution. From the state of the art we can highlight a lack of methods that would associate R&D collaborative project organizations with the development of recycling supply chains; this positioning contributes to the originality of the work realized. Our contribution is to propose three methods to help industrials to define a collaborative project for the design and building of a new recycling supply chain: • The first method we propose facilitates the understanding of a recycling emerging industry mechanisms, act simultaneously on the environmental impact by recycling end of life products and on the business competitiveness by differentiation in new industrial activities. • The second method we developed must helps recycling R&D project managers to define a “recycling collaborative project”, the target market, the recycled product that will be manufactured and the potential structure of the future supply chain. • The third method is related to the question of partner selection with the proposal of a ranking method and the definitions of adapted criteria for such selections. In this respect we used Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques to help industrials in this selection process. A case study is developed on the French textile recycling industry and a R&D collaborative project that introduces recyclable raw material from end of life vehicles and garments, for the development of a new product. An application of our research is conducted on a specific recycling collaborative project in order to discuss the initial results, and perspectives are highlighted for further research investigations
