ABSTRACT Professor Peter Steele S.J. cuts a fascinating figure both in contemporary scholarship and poetic achievement. His work extends over a vast range of genre from poetry to criticism, public address and intellectual journalism. Some of his huge literary output is published, some of it awaits publication, and much of it is either uncollected or held in archival situations. Steele is a writer who matters today not only by virtue of his leading a distinguished academic career, and being a widely published poet, but also because for some two decades he has been a focal figure in the Society of Jesus in Australia and New Zealand and has had extensive experience as he would say 'plying his priesthood' in various British and American Jesuit institutions. This has resulted in a large volume of mostly unpublished writings ranging from prayers, liturgies and reflections to homilies for private and public occasions. The challenge of addressing Steele�'s literary achievement lies in the fact that his spiritual insights form the basis of his poetic, academic, and ethical imagination. This thesis has attempted to identify the core nature of these insights and to trace the way in which they ramify into the world of people, events, and art, especially literature. The basic issue concerns the principle of radiance, how it finds expression through Steele�s major motifs or figures of Jester, Pilgrim Expatriate, Celebrant and Word or Witness, and how this principal operates as the unifying basis of his thought. The thesis tries to investigate this unifying vision within the subtle diversity of the many ways Steele encounters the modern world. In identifying Steele�s structure of thought as a radiant entity focused on the theocentre of God and emanating to the Incarnate God, to the writers of the gospels and epistles, to St. Ignatius, to St. Edmund Campion and to all people especially artists, it has been necessary to shape each chapter in a roughly parallel manner and to organise it according to these stratafications. Each chapter places the individual motif within Steele�'s individual and Ignatian milieux, and examines the function of the particular figure or motif under investigation. Each chapter will then trace the figure (Fool, Pilgrim / Expatriate, Celebrant or Word Witness), as Steele sees it manifest in God, in Christ, in the scriptures, and as he understands it imparted to Campion, to Ignatius as he writes the Spiritual Exercises and to writers (and readers) of literature. Each chapter also has variations appropriate to its subject matter and medium so that for instance the chapter treating Steele�s Pilgrim figure will consider his treatment of it in both p oetics and homiletics and that treating the Word or Witness will predominantly relate to that figure to his critical appraisal of Peter Porter�s p oetry and the organisation of the latter will break from the established pattern of organisation in several major ways. This thesis offers a study of a rich Australian talent operating intellectually, academically, imaginatively and spiritually. If one were to seek to place Steele amongst similarly minded writers one would have to locate him in the community of writers recognised for their classical and contemporary sophistication, writers such as Peter Porter, Seamus Heaney, Joseph Brodsky, Derek Walcott and Anthony Hecht. In this sense Steele is international rather than Australian in his emphasis; but being a true international he also includes Australia in his thinking.

There has been significant increase in the occurrence of earthquakes and other disasters around the world recently. With record-breaking storms and natural disasters destroying different parts of the world, many people have to deal with the repercussions of the aftermaths; and homelessness is one of the facts of such incidence. This master thesis is aimed at creating living solution for the victims of earthquakes and other kind of disasters; natural or human-made (war), providing accommodation for homeless people after an earthquake or a housing alternative for refugees. The design of the collapsible home is basically a new concept of emergency hut for accommodating people in emergency after the event of disaster with easy assembling and quick installation feature. Considering the situation of homeless people after catastrophic disasters who need to be accommodated, the design and creation of a quick, accommodating and low-cost emergency hut is advantageous. This project also provides a living service for both refugees and homeless people. It is low cost, modular, and easy to use. More than that it is feasible and it makes it possible to accommodate people for a longer period of time, rather than a very short temporary housing solution such as tents.Det har skett en signifikant ökning av jordbävningar och andra katastrofer i världen. Med rekordstora stormar och naturkatastrofer som förstör i delar av världen måste många människor nu hantera efterverkningar och återuppbyggande, och hemlöshet är en av de faktorer som uppstår och som påverkar människor mest. Det här examensarbetet syftar till att skapa en boendelösning för offer för jordbävning och andra naturkatastrofer och krig. Det hopfällbara hemmets design är ett koncept för krisboende med enkelt montage och installering. Om man betänker den situation som människor hamnar i som blir hemlösa vid en katastrof, kan en design av en snabb och billig boendelösning som krisboende ge enormt mycket. Projektet kan också vara en boendeservice till flyktingar och människor som är hemlösa av andra anledningar än katastrofer. Det tillverkas för en låg kostnad och är möjlig att använda som modul och enkel att sätta upp. Men viktigare än det är att den ger möjlighet att härbergera människor under en längre tid till skillnad från mer temporära lösningar som exempelvis tält. Det hopfällbara hemmet är gjort av hållbart material, den använder grön energi och lyser upp staden. Den är utrustad med vertikala trädgårdar för att användarna ska kunna odla egna grönsaker och den återvinner vatten från regn. Den innehåller basala hopfällbara möbler och rumsavdelare som ger känsla av hemtrevnad och bekvämlighet.

This thesis explores the role of water in urban landscape architectural design and identifies strategies that will conserve and optimise the use of water in the built environment. This is done through selecting a site in Pretoria at the intersection of the Apies River channel and Nelson Mandela drive and designing an Urban Water Centre that explores; exposes and celebrates water in the urban context. The design creates opportunities for kids from nearby schools, students from TUT, residents from the area, pedestrians and tourists to interact on a physical and emotional level with water. Educating people about water conservation is an important aspect of the project and raising awareness is the first step. The design addresses the city-wide need for green public open space and provides opportunities for urbanites to connect with water and the Apies River. This connection is established through the facilitation of significant encounters with water. These include physical contact play with water, creating interest and anticipation around rain events and through translating some of the associated attributes of water into a solid surface. The design approach is influenced by studying the Sustainable Sites Initiative’s ecosystem service approach. Green Star SA is investigated for a possible application to landscape architecture. The findings from the Sustainable Sites Initiative are enhanced by General Systems Theory and then used to generate systems that supports the desired experiences. The first and largest system lifts some of the base flow from the Apies River channel with a waterwheel, where after it is purified in a constructed wetland and a chlorine-free disinfecting process. The clean water is then displayed in a play pond that partially drains through a gravity driven vortex generator. The vortex generator aerates and cools down the water while adding movement; sound and a sense of the passage of time to the human experience. From the vortex, water flows into a constructed pebble lined stream that children can play in and experience stream ecology. The pebbles and vegetation refers back to the Apies River before it was lined with concrete. From the stream the water rejoins the channel. The second on site water system addresses rainwater. The design creates anticipation and curiosity associated with rain events. Rainwater from one of the on site buildings are harvested and displayed in a rain-meter garden. A first-flush system intercepts the first dirty water where after it drizzles down a rain-curtain into a rain-meter system. The rain-meters are large bullet resistant glass tank-like containers, calibrated to show how many millimetres of rain have fallen during the shower. A rain-sensor drains the water into a temporary wetland and lets in percolate into the underground storage tank. The third on site water system treats grey water from buildings through a stepped constructed wetland and displays the cleaned water in a jubilant motion activated display at one of the pedestrian entrances. Water from the rain-meter system; the grey water system and harvested surface runoff all contributes towards meeting the water needs of irrigation and buildings. Other eco-system service strategies identified in the study are applied in the design. These include the protection of on site biomass along with the introduction of region appropriate planting; design for- and use of waste reducing materials and the integration of on site systems to enrich the experience. By means of the Pastoral one an Education celebrated in the body and the laugh, visible is unmasked by means of can?onetas and of the licentious gesticulations of the jokers of this idleness. For such, we support ourselves in the phenomenological of Merleau-Ponty, the tradition and transmission of the verbal as it is conceived by Paul Zumthor, as well as in the phenomenology of the memory of the jokers and in the studies of cultural history and the philosophy of the body. The objective research to argue the body and the laugh as learning of the culture, as well as carrying through the production of a cartography of the potiguar pastoral ones, in the direction to argue the elements of the licentious gesticulations for the look and of can?onetas for hearing. Para tal, apoiamonos na fenomenologia de Merleau-Ponty, na tradi??o e transmiss?o da oralidade como ? concebida por Paul Zumthor, bem como na fenomenologia da mem?ria dos brincantes e nos estudos da hist?ria cultural e da filosofia do corpo. The aim of this thesis is to determine whether the involvement of a celebrity in advertising is the right choice and also make recommendation for selecting the appropriate celebrity in advertising beer, more precisely, three specific brands (Pilsner Urquell, Krušovice and Staropramen). In the thesis I explain the basic characteristics of consumer behavior, reference groups, marketing communication, celebrities and marketing research. The application part focuses on the beer market in the Czech Republic and the brewing in 2010, further I pursue my own selection of brands of beers and I state a brief characteristic of both particular beers and businesses. I continue the content analysis and the analysis of my own research, whose main objective is to select particular celebrities for selected brands of beer, on the basis of characteristics and features of celebrities, which should correspond to the image of each brand.

The objective of the diploma thesis was to evaluate the suitability of choosing beach volleyball representatives Kristýna Kolocová and Markéta Sluková as the new faces of the adidas brand women's cosmetics line. Following the introduction of the adidas brand is an account of products portfolio distributed by this brand, description of their communication and characteristics of communication of their main competitor. Secondary research prepared the necessary basis for the primary character. The means of the primary research was a questionnaire, which was distributed to 162 respondents mainly from the University of Economics. The result was a finding, that Kristýna and Markéta are known by approximately half of the subjects and that the absence of the main communication channel, television, was a probable influence on the awareness of the subjects about cooperation with the adidas women's cosmetics brand. The recommendation for future marketing campaigns is more intensive communication via internet and the use of television as the key communication channels.

I live in a place out of balance, surrounded by a society based on youth and a climate-controlled 68 degrees. The cities are one of extreme scales and of a homogenous nature. The Seasons pass by with no clue except for maybe a change in our wardrobes. The social side of our human condition presses itself on us until our individuality is crushed or until we go numb. Alternatively, we can spiral in to our uniqueness while growing more and more delinquent of the responsibility owed to the whole. Corporate Icon Skyscrapers, Oppressive Anonymous Housing Blocks, and MacDonald Kings will continue to exist and are not necessarily evil in and of themselves, but they must be balanced out with portals back to our souls and doorways out of the profane and into the sacred.
Statement of Intent
Our cities, in their present state, can be seen to correspond to the mythical model of chaos: the condition of undifferentiated formless modality. Through an act of will, we can recreate the center and regenerate our ties to the greater whole of which we are part: nature.
The object of this project is to create a microcosm that through the observation and experience of calculated phenomenas, recreates the link between an individual and the macrocosm of nature.

Previous issue date: 2014-12-02The object of this work is the body in the laboratories of the liturgy celebrates Network. The study was conducted through literature research and participant observation. It was investigated whether the methods used in laboratories litírgicos actually ensure the full participation of the person in the liturgy; if the individuals involved acquire a more integrated and full perception of self and other, and how they acquire understanding of the cosmos. It was found that Network takes over the body as an element of capital importance for the completion of the rite, so she has sought, through the liturgy laboratories, working for those involved in liturgical action can be positioned fully in comprising this sense the rediscovery of corporeality. This effort has contributed to a better understanding of the human being in its entirety, where the individual perceives himself interacting with his peers, with the cosmos and with the transcendent.
O objeto deste trabalho é o corpo nos laboratórios de liturgia da Rede Celebra. O estudo foi realizado por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e observação participante.Foi averiguada se os métodos utilizados nos laboratórios litírgicos realmente garantem a participação plena da pessoa na liturgia; se os indivíduos envolvidos adquirem uma percepção mais integrada e plena de si e do outro, e qual a compreensão que eles adquirem do cosmo. Constatou-se que Rede assume o corpo como elemento de importância capital para a realização do rito, por isso, ela tem procurado, através dos laboratórios de liturgia, trabalhar para que os envolvidos na ação litúrgica possam se posicionar de modo pleno, compreendendo neste sentido a redescoberta da corporeidade. O presente estudo enfoca o termo de compromisso de ajustamento de conduta celebrado perante o Ministério Público do Trabalho. Importante salientar que os conflitos de massa trouxeram nova roupagem ao sistema jurídico brasileiro de forma a consagrar e a insculpir o preceito da tutela coletiva. Neste sentido, a efetividade dos direitos metaindividuais ganhou corpo por intermédio das formas extrajudiciais e judiciais de solução de conflitos coletivos, tudo em prol da garantia dos direitos sociais, da paz social e do pleno emprego. A coletivização dos interesses implicou redução dos conflitos trabalhistas individuais, abrangência de interesses de grupo, categoria ou classe, maior observância dos valores sociais do trabalho, conciliando, portanto, os princípios fundamentais e basilares da República Federativa do Brasil. O alicerce dos direitos metaindividuais trabalhistas estrutura-se nos direitos humanos fundamentais e, neste contexto, devem pautar-se as cláusulas mínimas a serem estipuladas no ajuste de conduta como forma de tutela contra as lesões a interesses difusos e coletivos na esfera da relação de trabalho. A defesa da ordem jurídica, do regime democrático e dos interesses sociais e individuais indisponíveis foi conferida ao Parquet Trabalhista na qualidade de órgão agente e consagrada pela Constituição de 1988, dissociando-se, efetivamente, da função eminentemente parecerista (órgão interveniente) até então prevalecente. A estrutura do termo de compromisso de ajustamento de conduta, bem como sua forma de celebração, natureza jurídica, objeto, limite das cláusulas, dano moral coletivo, hipóteses de flexibilização da multa estipulada, competência territorial para assinatura, descumprimento do ajuste, além de outros aspectos polêmicos alusivos ao tema constituem objeto da presente dissertação. Não menos importante é a abordagem do procedimento investigatório e do inquérito civil, instrumentos comumente utilizados no exercício do poder de investigação consagrado pelo artigo 127 da Constituição Federal brasileira à Instituição do Parquet em defesa da ordem jurídica, do regime democrático e dos interesses sociais e individuais indisponíveis.The present study focuses on the commitment/agreement term of conduct settlement signed before the Labor Public Prosecution Office (Prosecuting Counsel). It is important to stress that the mass conflicts brought new drapery to the Brazilian legal system in order to establish and inscribe the precept of the collective protection/injunction. So, the effectiveness of the metaindividual rights got stronger through the mediation of the extrajudicial and judicial forms of solution of the collective conflicts, everything in favor of the social rights guaranty, social peace and full employment. The collectivization of the interests implied reduction of the individual labor conflicts, coverage of the interests of group, category or class, better compliance of the social values of work, reconciling, therefore, the fundamental and basic principles of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The basis of the labor metaindividual rights structures itself in the fundamental human rights and, in this context, there should be the minimum clauses to be stipulated in the conduct settlement as a form of tutelage against the damages to diffuse and collective interests in the sphere of the working relationship. The defense of the legal system/order, the democratic regime and of the unavailable social and individual rights was given to the Labor Parquet as an agent organ and consecrated by the 1988 Constitution, dissociating, effectively, from the eminently function of giving an option (intervening Organ) prevailing until then. The structure of the commitment/agreement term of conduct settlement, as well as its form of celebration, legal nature, object, limit of the clauses, collective wounded feelings, hypotheses of relaxation of the stipulated fine, territorial jurisdiction for signature, noncompliance of the settlement/adjustment, besides other polemic aspects allusive to the theme are object of the present essay. Not less important is the approach of the investigative proceeding and of the civil investigation, instruments commonly used in the performance of the investigation Power consecrated by the section 127 of the Federal Brazilian Constitution to the Institution of the Parquet in defense of the legal system/order, of the democratic regime and of the unavailable social and individual rights.

A promoção da saúde da gestante, que pode ser feita mediante o fornecimento de orientações sobre o processo gestacional, as mudanças físicas e emocionais próprias da gravidez, o trabalho de parto, parto e puerpério, é preconizada como uma das atividades essenciais da assistência pré-natal. Uma cartilha educativa, com orientações fidedignas e significativas na perspectiva das gestantes, representa um subsídio importante para o desenvolvimento das atividades educativas do pré-natal. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa foi elaborar uma cartilha destinada à promoção da saúde da gestante e os específicos foram sistematizar o conteúdo da cartilha, selecionar as ilustrações da cartilha, compor a cartilha, validar o conteúdo da cartilha com a colaboração de peritos e validar a adequação da linguagem e das ilustrações da cartilha com a colaboração de gestantes. As etapas da elaboração da cartilha consistiram na sistematização de seu conteúdo, com base na identificação das demandas dos participantes de um grupo de gestantes mediante abordagem participativa, em momento anterior ao início da presente pesquisa. O conteúdo da cartilha foi elaborado em bases científicas, mediante revisão da literatura. A composição da cartilha, quanto à seqüência das informações, formatação das ilustrações, escolha das cores, diagramação, organização estrutural e formato final, foi realizada mediante assessoria de profissionais de comunicação. A versão preliminar da cartilha foi submetida ao processo de validação, que foi realizado com a colaboração de peritos e gestantes. Um grupo composto por oito peritos, que representavam as categorias de médico obstetra, enfermeiro obstetra, enfermeiro promotor da saúde, educador físico e auxiliar de enfermagem, fizeram a validação das informações, da linguagem, das ilustrações, da apresentação da cartilha e deram sugestões para aperfeiçoar a cartilha. A versão aperfeiçoada da cartilha foi entregue às gestantes em acompanhamento pré-natal em um serviço público de saúde. Elas foram solicitadas a ler a cartilha, indicar palavras, expressões, frases ou ilustrações incompreensíveis e dar sugestões para substituí-las. Este processo foi realizado até a fase em que não foram identificadas dúvidas a respeito do conteúdo da cartilha e isto demandou a inclusão de nove gestantes. Concluída esta etapa, foram realizadas a última edição, a diagramação e a impressão da versão final da cartilha. O processo de construção da cartilha, desenvolvida mediante estratégia participativa, dialógica e coletiva, como preconizada nas práticas de promoção à saúde, foi construtivo e enriquecedor e seu emprego é recomendado para a elaboração de novas cartilhas educativas visando à promoção da saúdeThe promotion of health among pregnant women, which can be accomplished by furnishing information about the gestational process, physical and emotional changes specific to pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum, is essential to prenatal care. An educational booklet with trustworthy and significant advice could represent an important contribution to prenatal awareness training. The general objective of this study, therefore, was to produce such a booklet: systematizing its content, selecting illustrations, organizing its composition, verifying information with experts, and testing the adequacy of its language and illustrations in collaboration with the target audience. The content systematization was based on the suggestions raised by a group of expectant mothers prior to the beginning of the present project. The content of the booklet was developed through a review of scientific literature. The composition of the booklet, i.e., the formatting of illustrations, color, design, organizational structure and the sequence of information, was accomplished with the help of communications professionals. A preliminary version of the booklet was submitted to a process of validation by both experts and pregnant women. One group of eight professionals, including obstetricians, nurses midwives, a health promotional nurse, a physical education professor and nursing auxiliaries, evaluated the information, language, illustrations, and the general format of the booklet, giving helpful suggestions. The revised version was delivered to nine expectant mothers participating in prenatal care at a public health service center, who were asked to read through the booklet and point out any difficult words, phrases, expressions or illustrations and give suggestions for substitutes. This step continued until no new objections to content could be found, and this final version was reformatted and printed. The process of developing this booklet by means of a collective, participatory dialog, a process widely recommended for health promotion strategies, was both constructive and enriching, and the authors suggest its use in similar enterprises

Millions of young people around the world are increasingly engaging on digital platforms in learning computer programming to create and share interactive projects, and connect with others online. Not surprisingly, this has also led to a growing interest in designing tools and methods that can automatically assess children's progress in computational learning by analyzing the data being generated by their participation. Many of these approaches are looking at children's data with a narrow lens, often using it to generate dashboards that are primarily designed for educators, and focus exclusively on evaluating specific computational concepts in children's projects. In this thesis, I design and offer an alternative approach - one that utilizes children's data for empowering children themselves to celebrate, discover, and reflect on the full range of their contributions as members of a creative community. I introduce Scratch Memories, a new web-based visualization system I developed to enable children to reflect on their creative journey with Scratch, the world's largest online programming community for children. The system dynamically generates personalized visualizations highlighting a child's key moments, diverse creations, and collaborative experiences with others since the time they first joined the community. I share my own creative journey and the iterative development process behind this work. Based on observations and semi-structured interviews, I describe how the system not only sparked children to reflect on their personal trajectories, but also to feel inspired to make new memories. I conclude by describing future work through what I call my explorable explorations - a set of new in-progress tools and ideas that I hope can inspire others to create positive reflective experiences with data that celebrate, rather than evaluate, children's creative selves.

Nous essayons de tracer l'évolution du vocabulaire basé sur le verbe "célébrer" dans la liturgie latine -son étymologie, comment est il utilisé en latin classique et catholique, quelles furent les modifications et les changements au Moyen-Age, sa transformation lors du renouveau liturgique avant et après Vatican II. .With the publication of the Constitution on the liturgy of Vatican II in 1963 and the subsequent new liturgical books, we notice an important change in the kind of language used to speak of the christian liturgy. Fazendo isso, elas narram histórias que transcendem as suas próprias e dão voz as mulheres duplamente marginalizadas cujos testemunhos foram excluídos da História oficial e do cânone literário por serem negras e mulheres.A study of motherhood as a recurrent theme in African American Literature in the last three centuries and this may be seen in the words of Harriet Jacobs and Maya Angelou. In their autobiographical works, respectively, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, the authors place their marginalized black female self in the center of their own experience and revisit their past memories. By doing so, they narrate stories that transcend their own and voice the double jeopardized black women whose testimonies were excluded from official History and suffocated by the literary canon.

The path of Pipipã affirmation is expressed through multiple choices such as: internal organization, indigenous schools (differentiated education), aricuri resumption with its spiritual and “diacritical” meaning, construction of the Saint Expedite's Chapel and organization of children's baptism in aricuri. This research sought to interpret the meaning of these aspects in the perspective of the “way back”, the affirmation of the identity of the Pipipã indigenous people (município de Floresta, Sertão de Pernambuco). A participant research was carried out as an instrument of data collection and construction of “intercultural dialogue”, having theoretical foundations and reflections on Anthropology and History, which became important tools to analyze the Pipipã people's project. Children's baptism celebration in aricuri context is a kind of meeting point of two intentionalities: that of Pipipã on his “way back”, and that of the Vatican Council II in his desire to reform the Liturgy in the perspective of individuals participation with different socio-cultural expressions.
O caminho de afirmação Pipipã expressa-se por meio de múltiplas formas: organização interna, escolas indígenas (educação diferenciada), retomada do “Aricuri” com seu significado espiritual e “diacrítico”, construção da Capela de Santo Expedito e organização do batismo das crianças no Aricuri. A pesquisa aqui apresentada procurou interpretar o significado desses aspectos na perspectiva da “viagem de volta”, a afirmação da identidade do povo indígena Pipipã, município de Floresta, Sertão de Pernambuco. Realizou-se uma pesquisa participante, como instrumento de coleta de dados e construção de um “diálogo intercultural”, tendo como fundamentos teóricos reflexões da Antropologia e da História, que se tornam instrumentos importantes para analisar o projeto do povo Pipipã. A celebração do batismo de crianças no contexto do “aricuri” é uma espécie de ponto de encontro de duas intencionalidades: a de Pipipã em seu caminho de volta e a do Concílio Vaticano II em seu desejo de reforma da Liturgia na perspectiva da participação dos indivíduos com diferentes expressões socioculturais.

In regard to the exegetic methodology, this study is conducted using a synchronic perspect;s narrative, one perceives the importance of the so-called exodus project as a search for a fair society with no poor, an inclusive and compassionate society. Certainly, the last supper condensates al;s gospel, Jesus death is interpreted from a prophetic perspective of the practice of justice;
O presente estudo tem por objetivo demonstrar as dimensões sociais da ceia de Jesus, segundo o evangelho de Mc 14,22-25. Quanto à metodologia exegética, a pesquisa é conduzida por meio da perspectiva sincrônica. O estudo literário desta perícope leva a situá-la no contexto das refeições de Jesus, das partilhas prodigiosas dos pães, podendo-se chegar a considerar a última ceia a culminância destas. Transparece assim, na narrativa de Mc, a importância do chamado projeto do êxodo enquanto busca da construção de uma sociedade justa e sem pobres, inclusiva e solidária. Certamente, esta ceia condensa toda a comensalidade de Jesus, que, por um lado, subverte os valores do sistema social da Palestina do século I sob o domínio dos romanos, baseados na busca da honra, do prestígio e do status... Por outro, o agir comensal de Jesus parece ser contestação às normas da pureza ritual das lideranças religiosas judaicas de Jerusalém, como também crítica à concepção expiatória dos sacrifícios apresentados no templo. A ceia de Jesus é antecipação do banquete escatológico, do qual participarão todos, segundo a fidelidade ao projeto do Reino de Deus. Sua morte, conforme o evangelho de Marcos, é interpretada na perspectiva profética da prática da justiça.

Pesquisa teórica, de cunho filosófico-educacional, discute o projeto pedagógico do professor Carlos Roberto Petrovich (1936-2005) e suas possíveis ressonâncias com o riso e a arte bufa de François Rabelais, estudado por Mikhail Bakhtin. Petrovich foi aluno da primeira turma da Escola de Teatro da Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA), e tornou-se depois professor. Nos anos imediatamente anteriores à sua morte, foi suspenso Ogan de Ogum, Terreiro Ilê Axé Opô Afonjá, Salvador-Bahia. Como não há registro sistematizado das suas experiências, este trabalho converteu-se numa tentativa de preservar a memória daquele que defendeu vigorosamente os povos silenciados. Pensar o homem e o mundo na perspectiva de Petrovich ensejou, necessariamente, o trânsito pela educação, pela cultura, pela arte e pela religião afrobrasileira. A preferência por resgatar a intensidade da sua vida através de personagens que representou no teatro e no cinema, trabalhos nos quais atuou como diretor e como arte-educador, todos de grande relevância para compreender sua verve poético-dramática e suas idéias de educação, resultou num texto que incorpora livremente figuras de estilo e adota o sentido do mosaico como premissa para construção do seu perfil biográfico. Sustenta, assim, a existência de um projeto petrovichiano, como percurso formativo guiado pelo imperativo de "ser o que se é", lema de Píndaro. Esta pesquisa apoiou-se no método alegórico e na filosofia da história de Walter Benjamin, tomando a vida de Petrovich como ruína e ressignificando-a a partir das narrativas daqueles que com ele conviveram. Para tanto, foram realizadas entrevistas abertas, gravadas, além de falas do próprio Petrovich. O projeto pedagógico deste professor instiga ao resgate da historicidade, da ambivalência, da corporeidade, da quebra de hierarquias, características do riso rabelaisiano, promovendo a restauração do educar a partir de uma estética que incorpora a arte, a filosofia, a literatura e a mitologia como possibilida- des de libertação do sujeito para empreender sua viagem na direção de "ser o que é".

El trabajo que aqu? se presenta tuvo como objetivo investigar una instituci?n escolar en la ciudad de Macau / RN. Esta instituci?n, que fue innovadora en su contexto social y pedag?gico, fue pesquisada a la luz de los par?metros de la historia cultural. Una escuela que fue creada en el siglo XX, en el a?o de 1923, cuando el pa?s a?n viv?a la efervescencia de la implantaci?n del nuevo ordenamiento pol?tico - la Rep?blica. Elegimos como objeto de estudio las fiestas escolares, que tuvo lugar en esta instituci?n durante el periodo 1949-1962, procurando aclarar c?mo ocurr?a la realizaci?n de estas fiestas y c?mo fueron fundamentales para el funcionamiento de las relaciones pol?ticas, sociales y culturales en el ?mbito escolar. El an?lisis y la interpretaci?n de las fuentes documentales escolares, los documentos de otras instituciones, las entrevistas abiertas, la informaci?n oral, la legislaci?n de la educaci?n y de las escuelas, los peri?dicos y documentos oficiales de la ?poca relacionados con la tem?tica y que formaron el corpus documental, se basaron por obras de Souza (1998), Juli? (2001), Castro (1997), Kossoy (2001) Saviani (2005), Escolano (1992) y Carvalho (1990). Por tratarse de una instituci?n de ense?anza, el an?lisis central es la cultura escolar y la historia de la educaci?n brasile?a es el campo de la investigaci?n, haciendo una relaci?n de las fiestas escolares. En el relato, se reconstituyen las festividades c?vicas, solemnes y recreativas, adem?s de los elementos de formaci?n que se evidencian en el discurso de la educaci?n moderna. Para ello, buscamos entender que, en las pr?cticas cotidianas de la escuela, hab?a un m?todo de actuaci?n que segu?a las directrices del Departamento de Educaci?n. Estas directrices eran dadas por medio de las normas y decretos editados y se adentraban en el discurso en torno de las iniciativas emprendidas para difundir las nuevas pr?cticas pedag?gicas, y dentro de ellas, en el momento apropiado, los profesores dedicaban un tiempo de sus clases para explicar acerca de los d?as festivos y sus organizaciones. Estas constataciones fueron certificadas por la documentaci?n listada y por las entrevistas abiertas, y nos se?al? para el modelo escolar propugnado por el Grupo Escolar Duque de Caxias, que era fruto del nuevo orden republicano

Recent statistical studies suggest the proportion of Hispanic students within our nation’s classrooms is growing at a significant rate, experiencing the highest increase in numbers of any other ethnic group. These students require resources conducive to English language learning which also honor the Hispanic/Latino culture. Yet, out of 3,400 books received by the Cooperative Children’s Book Center (CCBC) in 2011, only 52 were penned or created by Latino authors/ illustrators. This number is expected to decline over the coming years. This insufficiency is an enormous challenge to librarians who strive to empower the Hispanic student population and promote cultural diversity among all students.
Empowering Learners, (p. 53) reminds us that librarians offer materials and services to accommodate the needs of children for whom English is a second language. The library program ideally seeks to reflect the linguistic and cultural pluralism of our country.
How can we arise to this need? Librarians succeed in supporting Hispanic students by utilizing Pura Belpré award-winning titles. This accolade is presented annually by the Association of Library Services to Children (a division of the ALA) to a Latino/Latina writer and illustrator whose work “best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth,” embodying the essence of the Latino culture.
The promotion of Pura Belpre’ titles, the delivery of associated crafts and activities as well as the use of online resources serve as indispensable tools to assist the librarian in enriching the literary experiences of Hispanic learners and celebrating the Latino heritage with all children.
In our session, we share in-depth knowledge of selected titles with correlating crafts and activities. Attendees will leave the session with practical, concrete instructional ideas, ready for immediate use.

Foi conduzido no Centro Espírita Nosso Lar Casas André Luiz (Guarulhos, São Paulo) um ensaio clínico aleatório, de desenho paralelo, duplo-cego, para investigar o efeito de um dentifrício contendo Triclosan e Flúor na redução de placa bacteriana e gengivite. Cinqüenta e cinco internos da instituição foram aleatoriamente divididos em dois grupos: teste (n=28, Colgate Total) e controle (n=27, dentifrício convencional contendo Flúor). A alocação dos sujeitos aos grupos foi conduzida pela farmácia Fórmula e Ação, que distribuiu os dentifrícios em tubos de acordo com o grupo experimental. A identidade de cada grupo foi mantida sob sigilo pela farmácia até o final da fase experimental da pesquisa. Os critérios de inclusão foram: presença de pelo menos 20 dentes na cavidade bucal e idade entre 15 e 45 anos. Os critérios de exclusão foram: presença de doença periodontal avançada e histórico de hipersensibilidade ao triclosan. Não se permitiu que os sujeitos da pesquisa utilizassem qualquer outro produto para controle de placa durante o estudo. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram examinados por Um investigador calibrado, no início da pesquisa, três meses e seis meses após o início. Avaliou-se a quantidade de placa bacteriana pelo Índice de Placa (IP) de Quigley-Hein (1962) modificado por Turesky et al (1970). Após evidenciação da placa, cada dente foi aferido em quatro sítios: MV, V, DV e P ou L, com exceção dos terceiros molares. Aferiu-se a gengivite pelo Índice Sangramento Interdental (ISI). O grupo teste apresentou redução significativa (p<0,001) no IP aos três meses, seguida de uma nova redução deste índice de três para seis meses (p<0,001). Houve uma redução significativa no IP do grupo controle (p<0,001) aos três meses, seguida por redução significativa aos seis meses. Não houve diferença entre os grupos em qualquer momento. Houve redução significativa do ISI no grupo teste após três meses (p<0,001) e embora tenha ocorrido uma diminuição de ISI entre três e seis meses , esta não foi significativa (p=0.07). No grupo controle houve redução no ISI após três meses (p=0,001) e após seis meses (p=0,001). No entanto, não houve diferença estatisticamente signifacante entre os grupos, em qualquer momento do estudo. Não foram observadas reações adversas durante o estudo. Os autores concluíram que o dentifrício contendo triclosan e flúor não promoveu benefícios adicionais ao dentifrício convencional na redução de placa bacteriana e gengivite interproximal.A randomized, double-blind, parallel design clinical trial, was conducted at "Centro Espírita Nosso Lar Casas André Luiz" to evaluate the effect of a dentifrice containing Triclosan and Fluoride in the reduction of plaque and gingivitis. Fifty five volunteers were randomly allocated in the following groups: test (n=28, Colgate Total) and control (n=27, conventional dentifrice containing fluor). The independent Pharmacy "Fómula e Ação" distributed the dentifrices according to the allocated group and was responsible for the allocation concealment. The sealer code breakers for the dentifrices were kept until the end of the study. Participants were enrolled in the study if they met the following inclusion criteria: minimum of 20 natural teeth and age between 15 and 45 years. Exclusion criteria were advanced periodontal disease and history of hipersensitivity following triclosan usage. Volunteers were not allowed to use any other product for plaque control during the study. Subjects were examined bu a calibrated invetigator, at baseline, three and six months. The clinical scoring procedure used to assess plaque formation was the Turesky (1970) modification of the Quigley-Hein (1962) index plaque scoring index. The clinical scoring procedure used to assess gingivitis was the interdental bleeding index of Caton and Polson (1985). There was a significant reduction in plaque index (p<0,001) at three and six months in both groups, but there were no differences between them. In the test group there was a significant reduction in interdental bleeding at three months (p<0,001), but there was no difference between the third and sixth month (p=0,07). The control group showed significant reduction in the bleeding index at three and six months (p<0,001), but no differences were found between the groups. No adverse effects were observed during the entire study. The autor concluded that the dentifrice containing triclosan and fluoride did not promote any additional effect on plaque and gingivitis reduction.

This thesis had as research object the various cultural manifestations in the Festa de Sant?Ana in the twentieth century, between the years 1920-1987. Noteworthy among these cultural manifestations the Festa de Largo, which occurred in the area outside the religious temple, composing some of the steps of the celebration of Senhora Sant?Ana, who is the patroness of the city of Feira Santana. These manifestations of popular and profane character, as the Bando Anunciador, the Lavagem da Igreja, and the Levagem, which were aggregators spaces of a myriad of religious and political expressions, producing diverse cultural practices. Another objective of the analysis was to understand the representations, appropriations and cultural practices undertaken by the participants in the festivities, as well as understand the shock of representations present in the celebrations, resulting from the opposition of the ways the party was experienced by participants ahead to how the festival were idealized by the Catholic Church.
Esta disserta??o teve como objeto de pesquisa as diversas manifesta??es culturais presente na Festa de Sant?Ana no s?culo XX, entre os anos de 1920 a 1987. Destacam-se entre estas manifesta??es culturais as chamadas Festas de Largo, que ocorriam na ?rea externa do templo religioso, compondo algumas das etapas da celebra??o a Senhora Sant?Ana, padroeira da cidade de Feira Santana. Estas manifesta??es de car?ter popular e profano, como o Bando anunciador, a Lavagem da Igreja e a Levagem, eram espa?os agregadores de uma mir?ade de express?es pol?ticas e religiosas, produtoras de diversas pr?ticas culturais. En la actualidad, el aumento del tráfico patrimonial ha aportado significativos ingresos al sistema económico y tributario peruano. Estas disposiciones patrimoniales se manifiestan con la celebración de un negocio jurídico. No obstante, mientras más ascienden los índices de las transferencias, más se acrecientan las formas de defraudación y criminalidad entre los sujetos intervinientes y en la administración pública. El ordenamiento jurídico peruano otorga ciertas medidas para evitar o, en todo caso, subsanar algunas deficiencias en la celebración de un negocio; pues en algunos casos, una de las partes intervinientes obra con una finalidad completamente ilícita. Así pues, por ejemplo, para los actos celebrados por un sujeto sin un poder de representación o estando este ya se encuentra extinto, el Código Civil sanciona con la imposibilidad del acto de surtir efectos jurídicos respecto del representado. La complejidad y confusión que genera el uso y aplicación de la ineficacia en los operadores de derecho ha generado que pocas veces sea invocada en un proceso civil; es por ello que considero que con la aplicación de un remedio jurídico más comprensible y conducente, se podrá disminuir el índice de fraude al momento de la celebración de un negocio jurídico.Tesis

Actualmente el comercio electrónico -en particular el de tipo Business to
Consumer (B2C)- ocupa un lugar sumamente importante en la economía
mundial. Este tipo de comercio no sólo se ha venido desarrollando y
expandiendo a pasos agigantados y a gran velocidad, sino que además tiene
una importante proyección de crecimiento a futuro que va de la mano con las
nuevas herramientas tecnológicas de las que el consumidor se puede valer
para realizar este tipo de transacciones.
En América Latina el comercio electrónico ha alcanzado cifras importantes.
Durante el año 2012, por ejemplo, los ingresos totales por transacciones de
tipo B2C ascendieron a US$ 43 000 millones de dólares. Sin embargo, en el
caso particular de Perú, el comercio electrónico aún constituye un mercado
incipiente en comparación con los demás países y bloques de la región.1
Siendo esto así, podemos afirmar que el comercio electrónico en el país se
encuentra muy por debajo de los niveles deseados y que, en este ámbito, el
Perú no tiene una posición competitiva respecto de sus pares de la región.
Uno de los principales obstáculos para el crecimiento del comercio
electrónico es la falta de confianza de los consumidores en el mismo. Ante
esta situación, los legisladores de diversos ordenamientos jurídicos -entre
los que se encuentran Colombia, México, Argentina, Chile y la Unión
Europea- han decidido aumentar los niveles de confianza en el comercio
electrónico a través del fortalecimiento del sistema de protección al
consumidor en este mercado, principalmente mediante el reconocimiento del
derecho de retracto a favor de los consumidores que realizan este tipo de
