Closed circuit television disingkat CCTV merupakan alat bantu yang telah banyak digunakan oleh perusahaan maupun rumah tangga dalam melakukan pemantuan. CCTV pada umumnya dihidupkan secara terus menerus dalam kurun waktu yang ditentukan pengguna. Penggunaan CCTV secara terus menerus berdampak pada pemborosan daya listrik dan usia penggunaan perangkat lebih singkat. Maka diperlukan penelitian CCTV hemat energy dan hidup hanya pada waktu yang diperlukan untuk penggunaan perangkat CCTV yang lebih lama. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah membangun Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) yang hemat energi dan masa penggunaan perangkat yang lama. Terdiri dari dua blok uatama yaitu CCTV Sistem dan blok controller. Blok CCTV berfungsi menangkap gambar dan menampilkan pada layar LCD 14 Inchi. Blok controller dengan pemroses Utama NodeMCU ESP32 sebagai pengatur waktu CCTV mendapat tegangan listrik untuk hidup. CCTV Cerdas ini akan bekerja pada rentan waktu jam 21.00 malam sampai 06.00 pagi dengan mengimplementasikan modul Real Time Clock (RTC) untuk masukkan waktu. CCTV Cerdas mendapat tegangan supply jika sensor PIR Motion mendeteksi panas tubuh manusia pada radius 3 Meter. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian alat dapat disimpulkan bahwa CCTV Cerdas berbasis NodeMCU ESP-32 dapat bekerja dengan baik yaitu setiap kali sensor PIR mendeteksi panas tubuh maka akan menyalakan unit CCTV.Closed circuit television abbreviated (CCTV) has been widely used by companies and households for monitoring. CCTV users generally turn it on continuously. Continuous use of CCTV has an impact on wasting electrical power and shortening the device's lifespan. research was carried out on energy-saving CCTV and a longer CCTV usage period. The aim of this research is to build a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) that is energy efficient and has a longer device usage period. Smart CCTV Consists of a CCTV System block and a controller block. The CCTV block functions to capture images and display them on a 14 inch LCD screen. The controller block with the NodeMCU ESP32 main processor as the CCTV timer gets electrical voltage to turn on. This Smart CCTV will work between 21.00 pm to 06.00 am by implementing a Real Time Clock (RTC) module to enter the time. The CCTV block gets a supply voltage if the PIR Motion sensor detects human body heat in a radius of 3 meters. The test results show that the NodeMCU ESP-32 based Smart CCTV can work well. The CCTV block will always turn on whenever the PIR sensor detects human body heat.

Abstract:
The installation of closed-circuit television monitors (CCTV) has rapidly increased in number ever since the 11 September attacks. With the advantages of direct visual inspection, CCTV systems are widely used on various occasions that require instantaneous and long-term monitoring. Especially for emergency response tasks, the prompt availability of CCTV offers EOC (Emergency Operation Center) commanders much better action reference about the reported incidents. However, the heterogeneity among the CCTV systems impedes the effective and efficient use and sharing of CCTV services hosted by different stakeholders, making individual CCTV systems often operate on their own and restrict the possibility of taking the best advantages of the huge number of existing CCTV systems. This research proposes a metadata-driven approach to facilitate a cross-domain sharing mechanism for heterogeneous CCTV systems. The CCTV metadata includes a set of enriched description information based on the analysis from the aspects of Who, When, Where, What, Why and How (5W1H) for CCTV. Sharing mechanisms based on standardised CCTV metadata can then suffice the need for querying and selecting CCTV across heterogeneous systems according to the task at hand. One distinguished design is the modelling of the field of view (FOV) of CCTV from the 3D perspective. By integrating with the 3D feature-based city model data, the 3D FOV information not only provides better visualisation about the spatial coverage of the CCTV systems but also enables the 3D visibility analysis of CCTV based on individual features, such that the selection decision can be further improved with the indexing of CCTV and features. As the number and variety of CCTV systems continuously grows, the proposed mechanism has a great potential to serve as a solid collaborated foundation for integrating heterogeneous CCTV systems for applications that demand comprehensive and instantaneous understanding about the dynamically changing world, e.g., smart cities, disaster management, criminal investigation, etc.

Abstract:
The article describes how CCTV has evolved in Denmark from 1954, where it is first mentioned in a specialist journal, to 1982, where legislation is passed that regulates how CCTV can be used and by whom. The article identifies four technological frames in which CCTV is placed in the period. Three of these are ‘use-directed’ as they point to various ways of using CCTV and identify certain advantages and obstacles for this use. These three frames are ‘CCTV in industries’, ‘CCTV in traffic’, and ‘CCTV in security practices’. The fourth technological frame is critical towards using CCTV; it fears that the relationship between citizens and state is hampered and that the privacy of citizens is at risk. This technological frame is labeled ‘CCTV as a democratic threat’. The article shows how there have been various controversies between the different interpretations of CCTV. Thus, CCTV in Denmark has not evolved through linear and uncontested progression; in fact, CCTV has been at the centre of several controversies in which surveillance practices have been negotiated and regulated.

В работе проведён анализ стилистических приёмов, используемых в рекламных текстах на каналах центрального телевидения Китая CCTV-3, CCTV-6, CCTV-7, CCTV-10, CCTV-12, CCTV-14 и CCTV-17. Отобранные 100 видеороликов были разделены на 4 группы в зависимости от целевой аудитории с целью проследить взаимосвязь целевой аудитории с выбранными в рекламе стилистическими приёмами. Анализ показал, что выбор стилистических средств, используемых в рекламных текстах, зависит от целевой аудитории, на которую направлена реклама.

В статье исследуются лексические особенности рекламных текстов на каналах центрального телевидения Китая CCTV-3, CCTV-6, CCTV-7, CCTV-10, CCTV-12, CCTV-14 и CCTV-17. Отобранные 100 видеороликов были разделены на 4 группы в зависимости от целевой аудитории с целью проследить взаимосвязь целевой аудитории с выбранными в рекламе лексическими средствами. Подобная работа с использованием методов корпусного анализа проводится впервые. Анализ показал, что выбор лексических единиц, используемых в рекламных текстах, зависит от целевой аудитории, на которую направлена реклама.

Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengoperasian aplikasi ini membantu kinerja khaesya cctv dalam penyampaian informasi prodak dan hargas sehingga informasi lebih mudah diakses kapan pun dan dimana pun. Yang sebelumnya Khaesya cctv masih menggunkan sistem metode penjualan konvensional menjadi berbasis web, sehingga promosi penjualan lebih efesien dan mudah diakses oleh siapapun. Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa penerapan sistem informasi penjualan cctv berbasis web ini dapat membantu kelancaran penjualan di Khaesya Cctv.

Hasil penelitian dari penelitian ini adalah, bahwa penggunaan Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) oleh penyidik dalam mengungkap tindak pidana penganiayaan ini sangat berguna, karena dimana dengan rekaman CCTV dapat membantu, mempermudah, mempercepat proses penyidikan. The position of CCTV according to the ITE and RKUHAP Laws is a legitimate evidence, whereas according to the Criminal Procedure Code the position of CCTV is evidence but there is an expansion in the ITE Law article 5 paragraph (2) which states that electronic information or electronic documents or printouts are extensions of evidence which is valid in accordance with the applicable Procedural Law in Indonesia and the position of CCTV in proving a common crime in the trial is evidence, because the KUHAP does not regulate the position of CCTV as evidence. One of the facilities for using CCTV is the disclosure of criminal acts of motor vehicle theft which are very prevalent in the jurisdiction of the Sawahlunto Regional Police Station. This research is a descriptive analytical study. Adapaun the results of research into motor vehicle theft at the Sawahlunto police Satreskrim, there were 264 cases of theft of motorized vehicles that were revealed and recorded through CCTV from 509 criminal acts of motor vehicle theft that were reported at the Satal Police Headquarters in Sawalunto. The use of CCTV helps investigators to uncover who is the perpetrator of the crime of motor vehicle theft with the help of IT experts who understand CCTV. The elements that meet CCTV as evidence are Article 184 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code, CCTV footage can be used as evidence of expansion (which is also strengthened by the Constitutional Court Decision No. 20 / PUU-XIV / 2016 dated September 7, 2016 and Article 5 of the Law ITE) so that CCTV footage can be used as a panel of judges as a guide to ensure the existence of a criminal act. Second, the constraints faced by Sawahlunto District Police Satreskrim investigators in using CCTV as evidence to reveal the crime of motor vehicle theft are maintaining CCTV in the original state, because after data from CCTV was taken, the video was not clearly visible when playing and brought CCTV experts nor can it be fast.

Pada program studi Teknologi Navigasi Udara di Politeknik Penerbangan Makassar, terdapat mata kuliah Peralatan Pengamatan Pengamanan. Mata kuliah ini mempelajari mengenai peralatan keamanan bandar udara untuk menunjang keselamatan dan keamanan penerbangan dengan salah satu peralatan yang akan diajarkan adalah CCTV. Politeknik Penerbangan Makassar berencana melakukan pembuatan trainer CCTV agar mempermudah pembelajaran mengenai CCTV beserta instalasinya pada mata kuliah Peralatan Pengamatan Pengamanan. Pada penelitian ini, tahap pertama yang akan dilakukan adalah merancang trainer CCTV yang akan digunakan dalam praktikum mata kuliah. Selanjutnya tahap kedua adalah tahap merakit trainer CCTV. Setelah instalasi CCTV selesai, tahap selanjutnya adalah melakukan pengujian terhadap sistem untuk mengetahui apakah sistem berjalan sesuai dengan semestinya. Dari penelitian ini penulis mampu merancang trainer CCTV dengan menggunakan beberapa jenis CCTV, NVR, dan Switch untuk selanjutnya ditampilkan di monitor. Selain itu, dengan adanya penelitian imi pengetahuan dan kemampuan taruna program studi Teknik Navigasi Udara Politeknik Penerbangan Makassar pada mata kuliah Peralatan Pengamatan Keamanan mengalami peningkatan dari semula 21,2% dan 37,9% menjadi 43,9% dan 48,5% dengan kategori sangat baik.

Surveillance atau pengawasan menjadi bagian penting dalam sistem pengamanan terutama pengawasan visual melalui video dengan Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) baik sebagai instrumen pelindung, investigasi hingga pelengkap keseharian. Melihat sistem pengamanan CCTV yang masih minim di Indonesia yang kemudian memperlihatkan pentingnya peran CCTV dalam rangka mencegah tindakan kejahatan dan terorisme. Menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif menjabarkan peran CCTV sebagai upaya kontra terorisme dengan melihat studi-studi terdahulu. Peran CCTV dianalisis menggunakan game theory terkait manajemen keamanan dan risiko untuk melihat bagaimana CCTV dapat memainkan peran dalam Kontra terorisme. Kehadiran Smart CCTV sebagai bagian dari instrumen keamanan dengan teknologi Artificial Inteligence (AI) yang menunjang pengenalan wajah dan aktivitas mencurigakan menjadi solusi akan sistem pengamanan dalam kontra terorisme bersamaan dengan kebersinggungan akan hak privasi masyarakat. Abstract. The installation of closed-circuit television monitors (CCTV) has been rapidly increasing ever since the September 11 attacks and has become one of the most widely used types of sensors for the tasks that require instantaneous and long-term monitoring. With the distinguished characteristics of direct visual inspection of the subject of interests, the availability of CCTVs offers the EOC commanders a quick way to validate and access the reported disaster incidents during emergency response. However, the heterogeneity of CCTV systems and the lack of appropriate descriptions precludes the optimized use of CCTV and causes immense difficulties in effectively coordinating or appraising the use of CCTV systems. By arguing standardized metadata plays the most crucial role in quickly and precisely finding the needed CCTV during emergency response, regardless of its specifications, suppliers, or locations, we propose an integrated operational framework based on the CCTV metadata specifically designed for emergency response in this paper. This framework standardizes the metadata to unify the descriptions for heterogeneous CCTV systems and fulfill the requirements for searching and selecting CCTV. Instead of the 2D point-based location or sector-based CCTV FOV coverage, we also propose to extend the FOV from 2D to 3D to precisely describe the area and even the features that can be monitored by the CCTV. This not only improves the precision and efficiency of selecting CCTV but also increase the commander’s ability to make quick and accurate responses to disasters. The advantages of integrating heterogeneous CCTV systems can tremendously improve the possibility of monitoring and updating the real-time status caused by hazards.

The questionnaire included CCTV installation and operation status and perceptions on CCTV installation in long-term care facilities. For the data analysis, descriptive statistics and chi-squared tests were performed through SAS Enterprise Guide 7.1.Results: For the mandatory installation of CCTV in long-term care facilities, 96.5% of family caregivers, 83.2% of care workers, and 65.0% of heads of facilities agreed (x<sup>2</sup>=273.71, p<.001). There was no difference in opinion among the stakeholders that a living room and program room should have CCTV installed. All stakeholders agreed that the items to punish CCTV information leakage should be included in the guidelines for installation and operation of CCTV in long-term care facilities. In addition, more than 90% agreed on the preparation of confidentiality obligation for viewing CCTV in all groups. However, there were differences in opinions among stakeholders on composing the guidelines in accordance with the Child Care Act and restricting CCTV installation to the outside of bedrooms.Conclusion: This study confirms that there was a difference in stakeholders’ perceptions of mandatory CCTV installation in long-term care facilities. To increase the effectiveness of mandatory CCTV installation in long-term care facilities, it is necessary to strengthen education on human rights and safety for older adults and improve care workers’ working environment.

In this paper, steganography is utilized to confirm the Data Masquerading and Data Modification and, in addition, to strengthen the security; the user information is protected based on PKI (public key infrastructure), SN (serial number), andR value(random number) attributed at the time of login and the user authentication protocol to block nonauthorized access of malicious user in network CCTV environment was proposed. This paper should be appropriate for utilization of user infringement-related CCTV where user information protection-related technology is not applied for CCTV in the future.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate and compare facility workers’ and family caregivers’ perceptions toward closed-circuit television (CCTV) in long-term care facilities.Methods: The participants included 70 family caregivers and 66 facility workers in nine long-term care facilities. A structured questionnaire gathered participants’ perceptions of CCTV in long-term care facilities. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, chi-squared test, and Fisher’s exact test with SPSS 26.0.Results: Family caregivers positively perceived both the function (p<.001) and compulsory installation (p<.001) of CCTV in long-term care facilities compared to facility workers. Also, family caregivers highly perceived the necessity of two improvement plans for CCTV application: “the agreement on a video-data-application plan” (p=.032), and “the necessity of a video-analytics expert” (p=.001) compared to facility workers.Conclusion: Family caregivers were more likely to recognize the importance of CCTV in long-term care facilities than facility workers. Further education on the necessity of CCTV, its positive functions, and various usage methods is required considering that the discussion on CCTV installation in long-term care facilities will become more prevalent. In addition, the legal regulations related to CCTV installation should be prepared in detail. Furthermore, it is necessary to understand that CCTV is not a solution to elder abuse, and long-term care facilities should consider future uses of AI-CCTV.

Untuk mengatasi permasalahan diatas maka perlu adanya Histogram Ekualisasi yang dapat memberikan perbaikan kualitas citra (Image Enhancement). Untuk citra yang diambil sebagai Image Enhancement sebagai contoh uji coba penelitian adalah citra Screen Capture CCTV. Dari citra Screen Capture CCTV tersebut dilakukan tahap-tahap pemrosesan citra untuk menghasilkan perbaikan kualitas citra yang baik. Rencana pengambilan data citra screen Capture CCTV sejumlah 5 citra. Cara kerja sistem informasi Image Enhancement adalah citra screen Capture CCTV di praproses dengan ukuran 200x260 piksel BMP, kemudia citra di GarayScale untuk dijadikan nilai piksel yang seragam, selajatunya citra di histogram ekualisasi untuk intensitas menjadi seragam. Untuk menguji tingkat kualitas citra menggunakan metode ekstraksi tekstur histogram berbasis rata-rata intensitas dan deviasi standar.

Kelurahan Medan Tenggara merupakan salah satu kelurahan yang terletak di Kecamatan Medan Denai Kota Medan. Berdasarkan laporan dari pihak Kelurahan Medan Tenggara kepada Tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) Politeknik Penerbangan Medan (Poltekbang Medan), masyarakat sering mengalami pencurian baik sepeda motor, uang dan barang berharga lainnya. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, Tim PKM Poltekbang Medan tertarik melakukan pelatihan instalasi CCTV berbasis internet of things (IoT) untuk masyarakat di kelurahan tersebut. Hal ini juga didukung oleh hasil survei di lapangan bahwa masyarakat belum mampu menginstal CCTV berbasis IoT secara mandiri. Dan masih keberatan untuk menggunakan jasa instalasi CCTV berbasis IoT. Instalasi CCTV berbasis IoT diperlukan agar area yang diawasi dapat diakses melalui ponsel pintar secara real-time. Tahapan sosialisasi ini diawali dengan penjelasan teori terkait CCTV berbasis IoT dan prosedur instalasinya. Selanjutnya, dilakukan praktik instalasi CCTV berbasis IoT secara langsung oleh peserta. Dan tahapan terakhir adalah evaluasi pemahaman peserta melalui pra-test dan post-test. Setelah pelatihan ini dilakukan diharapkan masyarakat mampu menginstal CCTV secara mandiri sehingga dapat mengantisipasi resiko pencurian lebih lanjut. Dan juga diharapkan juga dapat menjadi sumber penghasilan tambahan sebagai usaha jasa instal CCTV berbasis IoT.

In recent years, the rapid development of surveillance information in closed-circuit television (CCTV) has become an indispensable element in security systems. Several CCTV systems designed for video compression and encryption need to improve for the best performance and different security levels. Specially, the advent of 360 video makes the CCTV promising for surveillance without any blind areas. Compared to current systems, 360 CCTV requires the large bandwidth with low latency to run smoothly. Therefore, to improve the system performance, it needs to be more robust to run smoothly. Video transmission and transcoding is an essential process in converting codecs, changing bitrates or resizing the resolution for 360 videos. High-performance transcoding is one of the key factors of real time CCTV stream. Additionally, the security of video streams from cameras to endpoints is also an important priority in CCTV research. In this paper, a real-time transcoding system designed with the ARIA block cipher encryption algorithm is presented. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieved approximately 200% speedup compared to libx265 FFmpeg in transcoding task, and it could handle multiple transcoding sessions simultaneously at high performance for both live 360 CCTV system and existing 2D/3D CCTV system.

Criminal investigations with CCTV footage are still having a lot of challenges being faced most especially in relation to footage management. A qualitative comparative study involving getting opinions from the experienced CCTV management team and the investigation team has been conducted to gather some information regarding the current CCTV management model. These findings were compared with the challenges reported by several media and individuals. The study revealed inadequate CCTV system audits, unauthorised footage recordings with personal devices by staff, footage leakages to social media, insufficient training for some staff, low coordination between Uganda Police Force CCTV management and stakeholders involved in road constructions, water supply constructions, billboard installations and electricity supply operations that interrupts CCTV camera operations in case of unexpected occurrences of their related activities. An improved model that involves cloud-based system audits, footage automated shutdown up-on detection of recording devices, cloud-based footage analysis and automated system backups have been incorporated into the current CCTV management model. The system computerisation procedure for the improved model have as well been outlined.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektivitas pengawasan teknologi CCTV terhadap aktivitas karyawan di toko Sinar Alam Makassar. Pemantauan diukur dengan menggunakan teknologi CCTV, sedangkan kinerja karyawan dinilai berdasarkan kontribusi output, kualitas output, waktu yang dicapai, kehadiran di tempat kerja dan sikap kerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan data melalui kuesioner yang diisi oleh karyawan toko. Hasil uji validitas menunjukkan seluruh pertanyaan pada kuesioner sudah benar dan hasil uji reliabilitas menunjukkan kuesioner valid. Uji regresi linier menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh positif antara pengawasan CCTV terhadap kinerja karyawan. Hasil korelasi spearman menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang sangat kuat antara variabel pengawasan CCTV dengan kinerja karyawan. Analisis koefisien determinasi menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pengawasan CCTV dapat menjelaskan 80,5% variasi kinerja karyawan. Sebuah pengujian menemukan bahwa pengawasan CCTV berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan.. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknologi monitoring CCTV dapat meningkatkan kinerja karyawan di toko Sinar Alam Makassar. Manajemen dapat menggunakan temuan ini untuk meningkatkan efektivitas strategi manajemen dan pemantauan karyawan dalam upaya meningkatkan produktivitas dan efektivitas operasional toko.

AbstractThe chaperonin-containing T-complex protein 1 (CCT) subunits participate in diverse diseases. However, little is known about their expression and prognostic values in human head and neck squamous cancer (HNSC). This article aims to evaluate the effects of CCT subunits regarding their prognostic values for HNSC. We mined the transcriptional and survival data of CCTs in HNSC patients from online databases. A protein–protein interaction network was constructed and a functional enrichment analysis of target genes was performed. We observed that the mRNA expression levels of CCT1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8 were higher in HNSC tissues than in normal tissues. Survival analysis revealed that the high mRNA transcriptional levels of CCT3/4/5/6/7/8 were associated with a low overall survival. The expression levels of CCT4/7 were correlated with advanced tumor stage. And the overexpression of CCT4 was associated with higher N stage of patients. Validation of CCTs’ differential expression and prognostic values was achieved by the Human Protein Atlas and GEO datasets. Mechanistic exploration of CCT subunits by the functional enrichment analysis suggests that these genes may influence the HNSC prognosis by regulating PI3K-Akt and other pathways. This study implies that CCT3/4/6/7/8 are promising biomarkers for the prognosis of HNSC.

The issues in this thesis is whether the CCTV recording can be used as evidence in the process of proving a criminal case in Indonesia and what obstacles and solutions if CCTV be used as evidence in the process of proving a criminal case. The approach used problem is empirical juridical approach. The data used are primary data, secondary data and data tertiary. While the method of data collection was done by using literature study and field work and data analysis in this research is a descriptive qualitative. The results of research and discussion addressing that (1) a video of CCTV can be used as a valid legal evidence that they meet the requirements stipulated in the ITE Law Article 5 of Act No. 19 of 2016. (2) barriers CCTV as evidence in criminal cases is the lack of lighting and lack of ITE experts from the big city, so the result is dark and the image quality is less clear, but the CCTV still can be used as electronic evidence for CCTV still in the original form. CCTV evidence greatly assist the police to carry out investigations in criminal cases of theft and murder. Dari sekian banyak merek kamera CCTV yang ada, perusahaan harus jeli membaca minat konsumen terhadap produk-produk tersebut agar tidak merugi karena menjual produk yang salah. Penelitian ini berfokus pada upaya penerapan sistem pendukung keputusan terhadap pemilihan merek CCTV yang paling diminati oleh konsumen menggunakan metode analytical hierarchy process berdasarkan kriteria harga, kualitas gambar, dan kapasitas penyimpanan, dengan lima alternatif pilihan merek kamera CCTV yang banyak beredar di pasaran, yaitu Honeywell, Glenz, Hikvision, Schneider, dan Samsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Honeywell adalah merek kamera CCTV yang paling banyak diminati konsumen dengan bobot nilai 34,24%, disusul dengan merek Schneider dengan bobot 27,81%, Samsung dengan bobot 17,18%, Glenz dengan bobot 10,84%, dan terakhir Hikvision dengan bobot 9,94%. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the function of CCTV recording is to strengthen the Judge's belief in describing the incident at the crime scene recorded in accordance with the facts which are reinforced by the Expert's conviction shown in the CCTV footage and strengthening trial evidence which serves to be used as 2 evidence in court because it is used as a clue and letter. The obstacles faced by the Judge in the process of proving premeditated murder through CCTV footage of the results that were displayed were unclear, due to the location of the CCTV.

Penggunaan CCTV bukan hanya untuk perusahaan besar atau toko toko saja, namun rumah pribadi juga banyak yang memasangnya untuk mengawasi anak anaknya ketika sedang keluar rumah ataupun barang yang mungkin berharga bagi sang pemilik rumah. PurposeTo discuss and review the shift to computer enhanced self‐monitoring CCTV surveillance systems of public spaces and the social implications of this shift.Design/methodology/approachA review of the research and evaluation literature concerning CCTV surveillance systems culling out the history of public space CCTV systems and the concerns associated with first and second generation CCTV surveillance.FindingsThe main difference between first and second generation surveillance is the change from a “dumb camera” that needs a human eye to evaluate its images to a computer‐linked camera system that evaluates its own video images. Second generation systems reduce the human factor in surveillance and address some of the basic concerns associated with first generation surveillance systems such as data swamping, boredom, voyeurism, and profiling. Their enhanced capabilities, though, raise new concerns, particularly the expansion of surveillance and its intrusiveness.Research limitations/implicationsAdditional research is needed to assess CCTV surveillance on a set of social dynamics such as informal guardianship activities by citizens.Practical implicationsThe adoption of computer‐enhanced CCTV surveillance systems should not be an automatic response to a public space security problem and their deployment should not be decided simply on the technology's availability or cost.Originality/valueThis paper provides a concise overview of the concerns associated with first generation CCTV surveillance and how the evolution of computer‐enhanced CCTV surveillance systems will alter and add to these concerns. For researchers it details research questions that need to be addressed. For practitioners and government officials considering the use of public space CCTV surveillance it provides a set of issues that should be considered prior to system adoption or deployment.

CCTV installations in Jambi City have been carried out in various areas of Jambi City such as in various parking areas in government offices, at crossroads, and red lights. Even private business actors also support the installation of CCTV in their respective business areas. Advances in GIS technology can be applied to mapping the distribution of CCTV points in the city of Jambi to help collect information on the distribution of CCTV points in various public areas of Jambi City electronically so that they can improve excellent service for the community in the field of security and public comfort both for business actors and for visitors who came to the city of Jambi. So the final result of this research is the proposed design of a Web-Based Geographic Information System (GIS) application for CCTV Point in Jambi City. The system development method used is Prototype using Use Case Diagram modeling tools, Activity Diagrams, and Class Diagrams. Sistem pakar ini menerapkan atau mengaplikasikan metode certainty factor pada proses perhitungannya. CCTV pendeteksi masker dapat membantu penerapan kebijakan penggunaan masker di area rumah sakit, laboratorium, bandara dan area publik lainnya. Dalam menerapkan computer vision kedalam sistem CCTV membutuhkan metode deteksi objek yang tepat sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Metode yang dapat digunakan adalah metode Convolutional Neural Network yang menerapkan proses pembelajaran mandiri untuk mendeteksi objek. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Convolutional Neural Network yang diterapkan pada sistem CCTV pendeteksi penggunaan masker secara otomatis. Also, millions of CCTV cameras are installed in streets with the goal of reducing crimes, preventing crimes, and increasing public safety. Effectiveness of the installation of CCTV cameras in relation to crime prevention aims to determine the effectiveness of CCTV cameras in the selected barangays of Ozamiz City, usefulness in crime prevention with respect to traffic violations, crimes against person and crimes against properties and to propose an action-based plan based on the results of the study. The study utilized descriptive-correlational design, mean and standard deviation was used to analyze the gathered data. Results revealed that the installation of CCTV cameras are very effective in crime prevention as it monitors and records the scenes 24/7 that can help in solving any reported crimes such as theft or robbery incident. Moreover, the installation of CCTV cameras is very useful in crimes against person and crimes against properties as well as in preventing traffic violations because CCTV can be used as evidence in court, and it will help the authorities solve any crimes and when drivers are aware that CCTV are monitoring the roads and traffic, they will adhere to the laws set by the authorities for fear of getting penalized.

The year 2018 will be remembered as the year when CCTV cameras were first installed in the city of Gaborone, Botswana, and its surrounding villages for purposes of detecting criminal activities and preventing crime. The value of CCTV cameras in preventing crime and as an investigative tool has been an area of interest among researchers. Among scholarly studies on this field, the focus has been on the effectiveness of CCTV cameras in preventing crime and their value as an investigative tool. Since CCTV cameras have just been installed in the city of Gaborone, it may be too early to evaluate the extent to which they effectively prevent crime in this city. The purpose of this study is to document the use of public surveillance cameras in Gaborone and its surrounding areas and assess their geographic placement in light of the principles of Situational Crime Prevention (SCP) theory. Using data collected through site observation and key informant interviews, we argue for a rigorous review and assessment of the current installation and placement of CCTV cameras in Gaborone city and further scholarly study to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of CCTV camera use for crime prevention in this city.

Abstract:
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance cameras are widely used in public and private areas around the world. It is primarily used for tracking individuals and preventing criminal activities. It is necessary to balance the benefits of video surveillance and the risks it poses to individuals' right to privacy. The existing studies raised privacy issues of installing CCTV in public places. However, there is a lack of studies investigating users’ awareness of information security and privacy limitations in installing CCTV in private places. Thus, in this study, the author evaluated users' information security awareness of the value of CCTV and other forms of video surveillance. In-person interviews were conducted in Riyadh province, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A total of 77 individuals responded to the interview. A qualitative analysis was conducted to evaluate the participants’ perception of CCTV usage. The outcome of the analysis revealed four themes: Privacy invasion, privacy awareness, dilemmas in implementing security, and preventive measures. The findings revealed that the participants required strict privacy policies for installing CCTV video monitoring systems in private areas. In addition, they understood that CCTV is effectively reducing the fear of crime. The research contributes to understanding users' general awareness of information security and offers the necessary steps to protect the user's privacy in a CCTV surveillance environment. In addition, a data-sharing framework is recommended to share the data in a secure environment. Furthermore, researchers can utilize the study findings in conducting further similar investigative studies.

This study examined the concept of a smart city and the importance of a smart environment in city management. CCTV analytics has been employed to monitor and manage urban environments, especially in Semarang City. Smart city and CCTV analytics challenges facing the Semarang City Government were investigated. Interviews, document analysis, and field observation provided input for this case study, combined with specific cases to gather detailed explanations from various sources or stakeholders. The installation of a CCTV analytics system in Semarang aims to create a smart environment. The city strategically installed CCTV cameras with analytical technology and a data center to process and store CCTV data. This system monitored high-risk areas such as flood plains. The Quick Response Team handled problems immediately after the early warning system was activated. However, funding, analytical CCTV supply, and system integration were issues. Hence, the government must address these challenges to manage the environment and reduce risks. This research discovered that analytical CCTV in Semarang City provided real-time data and visualization of environmental conditions, helping the government make the right decisions and policies. Access to CCTV footage and decision-making benefited the community. Air pollution and flooding must be addressed as the integration continued. This study emphasizes urban environmental management strategies and the pros and cons of technology integration. The potential of smart environments and the challenges of smart city implementation require more research and development.

How many of us question what we’re shown via closed circuit television (CCTV) as being the truth of a situation? Can clear and easily identifiable images be wrong? And if they are, how can you argue against the power of the recorded image from a legal standpoint? Can Human Factors help us improve surveillance for society? In this real example of improper CCTV surveillance, can CCTV always be taken at face value? The simple answer is no, but how many people accept what they’re shown without question and end up paying the penalties? This paper examines a case study where all that appeared on the CCTV image was not as it seemed. It then considers the underlying human factors issues of CCTV technologies for surveillance and the importance of understanding the fundamental human-machine interface.
