Shen, Ying. "Élaboration d'ontologies médicales pour une approche multi-agents d'aide à la décision clinique." Thesis, Paris 10, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015PA100040/document.
Full textThe combination of semantic processing of knowledge and modelling steps of reasoning employed in the clinical field offers exciting and necessary opportunities to develop ontologies relevant to the practice of medicine. In this context, multiple medical databases such as MEDLINE, PubMed are valuable tools but not sufficient because they cannot acquire the usable knowledge easily in a clinical approach. Indeed, abundance of inappropriate quotations constitutes the noise and requires a tedious sort incompatible with the practice of medicine. In an iterative process, the objective is to build an approach as automated as possible, the reusable medical knowledge bases is founded on an ontology of the concerned fields. In this thesis, the author will develop a series of tools for knowledge acquisition combining the linguistic analysis operators and clinical modelling based on the implemented knowledge typology and an implementation of different forms of employed reasoning. Knowledge is not limited to the information from data, but also and especially on the cognitive operators of reasoning for making them operational in the context relevant to the practitioner.A multi-agent system enables the integration and cooperation of the various modules used in the development of a medical ontology. The data sources are from medical databases such as MEDLINE, the citations retrieved by PubMed, and the concepts and vocabulary from the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS).Regarding the scope of produced knowledge bases, the research concerns the entire clinical process: diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and therapeutic monitoring of various diseases in a given medical field. It is essential to identify the different approaches and the works already done.Different paradigms will be explored: 1) Evidence Based Medicine. An index can be defined as a sign related to its mode of implementation; 2) Case-based reasoning, which based on the analogy of clinical situations already encountered; 3) The different semantic approaches which are used to implement ontologies. On the whole, we worked on logical aspects related to cognitive operators of used reasoning, and we organized the cooperation and integration of exploited knowledge during the various stages of the clinical process (diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, therapeutic monitoring). This integration is based on a SMAAD: multi-agent system for decision support
Guo, Yuhan. "Metaheuristics for solving large size long-term car pooling problem and an extension." Thesis, Artois, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012ARTO0206/document.
Full textNowadays, the increased human mobility combined with high use of private cars increases the load on environment and raises issues about quality of life. The extensive use of private cars lends to high levels of air pollution, parking problem, traffic congestion and low transfer velocity. In order to ease these shortcomings, the car pooling program, where sets of car owners having the same travel destination share their vehicles, has emerged all around the world. We present here our research on the long-term car pooling problem. In this thesis, the long-term car pooling problem is modeled and metaheuristics for solving the problem are investigated. The thesis is organized as follows. First, the definition and description of the problem as well as its mathematical model are introduced. Then, several metaheuristics to effectively and efficiently solve the problem are presented. These approaches include a Variable Neighborhood Search Algorithm, a Clustering Ant Colony Algorithm, a Guided Genetic Algorithm and a Multi-agent Self-adaptive Genetic Algorithm. Experiments have been conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of these approaches on solving the long-term car pooling problem. Afterwards, we extend our research to a multi-destination daily car pooling problem, which is introduced in detail manner along with its resolution method. At last, an algorithm test and analysis platform for evaluating the algorithms and a car pooling platform are presented in the appendix

As the amount of time spent inside vehicles increases, there is an ever more pressing need for safe interfaces that support drivers while they are multi-tasking. We present an Affective Intelligent Driving Agent (AIDA), a sociable robot designed to sit at the dashboard of a vehicle and behave as a friendly assistant. This highly expressive robot was designed to receive signals from the vehicle and use an Android phone as its face and main computational unit to manage the information that must be delivered to the driver. AIDA communicates with the driver through speech, imitating the interaction model that exists between a driver and another passenger. This research platform explores the possibility of using a sociable robot as an interface to connect driver and car, creating a stronger bond between them.

Full textAlthough knowledge about the complex of problems with climate change is widespread, individuals often do not consider their own actions as contributors to climate change when they make their own choice of how to transport themselves, especially with the widespread use of cars. To reduce unnecessary car use, work is taking place at the public sector level in the city of Malmö. Through information, communication and campaigns, the city aims to raise the amount of pedestrians, cyclists and public transport users; this job can be summarized as: behavioral change. This job is part of the aim to make Malmö a more attractive and more sustainable city. The purpose of this study is to investigate how agents of change at the public sector level understand their profession and their professional role. This involves how they understand the boundaries in which they can operate, their understanding of competencies, how they understand success in their work, and how success can be and should be measured. The study took place through a qualitative study in the form of interviews where six agents of change at the Trafikmiljöenheten in Malmö Stad make up the empirical population for the study. The results show that the interviewed agents of change see opportunities and hindrances with working in the public sector. The advantages are that they feel a level of freedom, as they are not a company aiming to sell a product and that they feel they have the opportunity to affect how the work should go about through the opportunity to bring forward their own ideas. The disadvantages are the political arena that they are a part of, where the policies of the ruling politicians form the boundaries in which the agents of change can perform their work. There is tension between working with effects that only become evident in the long-term and the demands of showing short- term effects. The agents of change say that competencies of social and interpersonal character rather than technical and practical competencies are important for doing a good job. The interviewees outlined that the general attitude towards environmental questions and choice of transport modes has changed over the past 10-15 years which makes it easier for the agents of change to reach out with their messages.

Full textIn multi-agent-systems agents cooperate and compete to reach their personal goals. For optimized agent interactions it is helpful for an agent to have knowledge about the current and future behavior of other agents. Ideally the recognition and prediction of behavior should be done automatically. This work addresses a way of automatically classifying and an attempt at predicting the behavior of a team of agents, based on external observation only. A set of conditions is used to distinguish behaviors and to partition the resulting behavior space. From observed behavior, team specific behavior models are then generated using Case Based Reasoning. These models, which are derived from a number of virtual soccer games (RoboCup), are used to predict the behavior of a team during a new game. The main contribution of this work is the design, realization and evaluation of an automatic behavior modeling approach for complex multi-agent systems.

Full textWe have concluded by implementing a controller that make use of multi agent based artificial potential field approach to achieve the tricky and complex task of collision detection and overtaking while driving in a car racing game with different other controllers as opponents. We exploited the advantages of APFs to the best of our knowledge using laws of physics and discrete mathematics in order to achieve successful overtaking behavior and overcome its drawbacks as being very complex to implement and high memory requirements for time critical applications e.g. car racing games (Section 3.1, RQ1). Dynamic objects in a fast changing environment like a car racing game are likely to collide more often with each other, thus resulting in higher number of damages. Using APFs instead of traditionally used collision avoidance techniques resulted in less number of damages during the race, thus minimizing the lap’s time which in turn contribute to better position in the race as shown in experiment 3 (Section 3.1, RQ2 and Section 6.6). Overtaking maneuvers are complex and tricky and is the major cause of collision among cars both in real life as well as in car racing games, thus the criteria to measure the performance regarding overtaking behavior of different controllers in the race is based on number of damages taken during the race. The comparison between the participating controllers in terms of damages taken during various rounds of the race is analyzed in experiment 3 (Section 3.1, RQ3 and Section 6.6). The results of the quick race along with opponents shows good results on three tracks while having bad performance on the remaining other track. Our controller got 1st position on the CG track 2 while kept 2nd position on CS Speed way 1 and Alpine 1. It had worse performance on wheel 2 which needs to be optimized in the future for better results on this track and other similar complex and tricky tracks.
