Abstract:
Translation is a par excellence cultural communication and translators are agents of cultural transfer by means of language. Literary texts provide the translator with a higher grade of freedom than any other type of texts because of the self-referentiality of art encoded in language. Decoding the original and creating a new body in a different referential system are individual hermeneutic acts of the translator. Deciphering an author’s world is a step closer to the heart of the source culture and an ever-open language-game. The challenges I met translating Irene Solà’s novel gave me a special insight to Catalan culture and the English, Italian and Spanish translations gave me the opportunity to study other translation strategies. This essay is the first in the series of traductography essays centred on the Catalan-Hungarian intercultural communication revealing the processes in the black-box of the translator’s mind that on the one hand can serve as a guide to Catalan culture and, on the other hand, as a basis for further translatology research.

Abstract:
The European ballad, an orally-performed narrative song, developed in the medieval period with many cross-fertilizations among ballad types in various language areas. Nevertheless, to date there have appeared only a handful of comparative studies of these pan-european themes, with investigations dominated by the Finnish geographical school, whose primary interest is in finding genetic archetypes. In this study, my aim is, rather, to do a typological and stylistic analysis of one wide-circulating song-type, known in many variants throughout the continent, some in comic and others in tragic versions. The ballad I shall analyze appears in Hungarian in several variants as "A megcsalt ferj," in Anglo-American tradition - recorded in over 400 variants – the ballad is known as "Our Goodman," or "The Cuckold's Song," or, in more blatantly obscene versions as "The Old Man Came Home" and "Home Drunk Cam' I". There also exist Spanish, Catalan, French, Italian, and even Yiddish versions, all of which I shall be taking into consideration.

Abstract:
The Gesta Hungarorum is a valuable source of the early history of Europe and Hungary. As a result, several translations in addition to the Hungarian have been published: Romanian, German, Slovak, Polish, Catalan, English, Russian, etc. While some questions regarding the translation of the personal names used by Anonymous are predictable, a comprehensive understanding can only be reached through a complete comparison of all data. Thus, data collection is the first step of research. The current study examines the use of personal names in the English and Romanian translations. Aspects connected to translation are systematised based on the various levels of their context. A detailed analysis of the data brings new aspects to the fore that highlight questions connected not only to the text of the Gesta itself but translation in general. Thus this study is useful not only to a small group of scholars but any who face challenges in the translation of names.

Abstract:
Reproductive medicine is actively developing, and new methods, drugs, and protocols are being developed and introduced for the treatment of infertility. Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) are the most effective methods. In ART protocols, ovarian stimulation (OS) is based on gonadotropin use. The choice of the starting dose of gonadotropin is a critical factor in the successful OS and the effectiveness of ART programs. The article describes the development history of gonadotropins and provides current data on their use in ART programs. The use of biosimilars of follitropin alfa in OS is discussed, and the effectiveness of its Russian biosimilar is also addressed. Abstract:
Adolescence is established as an important stage in the human being, we try to show how positive or negative this stage can be in the development of an adequate environment, elucidating the benefits or consequences that can affect the psychomotor development of a person. Adolescence is the time when the personality of an individual is defined, influenced by various factors that can help the subject to develop adequately in society, as well as factors that can affect the subject conditioning him/her to an environment that is not favorable for his/her development. Both physical and psychological changes are mentioned, as well as hormonal factors which play an important role in development. It is intended to demonstrate the hormonal mechanisms that condition the changes in the development of the human being. Abstract:
Abstract:
Big data technology has been widely used in entrepreneurial research in recent years. To explore the development trend and fundamental characteristics of big data in entrepreneurship (BDIE) research, we conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of BDIE based on 541 publications between 1993 and 2020 from Web of Science. On the one hand, this paper focuses on some essential characteristics of the BDIE publications, such as categories, citation, H-index, and the most cited publications. On the other hand, visual scientific maps are presented by bibliometric tools, i.e., Bibliometrix, VOS viewer, and CorTexT Manager, showing relationships between publications and knowledge structure in BDIE research. Finally, hot topics in current studies, knowledge, and limitations are discussed, guiding scholars to explore new research directions. This paper provides a relatively broad perspective for applying BDIE research, which contributes to understanding the evolution of BDIE research and inspires scholars in related fields. Rubio-Fernandez, Paula, and Julian Jara-Ettinger. "Incrementality and efficiency shape pragmatics across languages." Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences 117, no. 24 (June 1, 2020): 13399–404. http://dx.doi.org/10.1073/pnas.1922067117.

Abstract:
To correctly interpret a message, people must attend to the context in which it was produced. Here we investigate how this process, known as pragmatic reasoning, is guided by two universal forces in human communication: incrementality and efficiency, with speakers of all languages interpreting language incrementally and making the most efficient use of the incoming information. Crucially, however, the interplay between these two forces results in speakers of different languages having different pragmatic information available at each point in processing, including inferences about speaker intentions. In particular, the position of adjectives relative to nouns (e.g., “black lamp” vs. “lamp black”) makes visual context information available in reverse orders. In an eye-tracking study comparing four unrelated languages that have been understudied with regard to language processing (Catalan, Hindi, Hungarian, and Wolof), we show that speakers of languages with an adjective–noun order integrate context by first identifying properties (e.g., color, material, or size), whereas speakers of languages with a noun–adjective order integrate context by first identifying kinds (e.g., lamps or chairs). Most notably, this difference allows listeners of adjective–noun descriptions to infer the speaker’s intention when using an adjective (e.g., “the black…” as implying “not the blue one”) and anticipate the target referent, whereas listeners of noun–adjective descriptions are subject to temporary ambiguity when deriving the same interpretation. We conclude that incrementality and efficiency guide pragmatic reasoning across languages, with different word orders having different pragmatic affordances.

Abstract:
Global climate change and ecological environment destruction have become global problems that cannot be ignored. As the largest developing country, China faces the reality of emission reduction from the international community and the pressure of domestic environmental protection. Based on the policy process of carbon peak and carbon neutrality in China, the allocation and use of carbon peak policy tools in China are analyzed by using the Multiple-Streams Approach, and some insights are proposed, hoping to provide some thinking for related research. The initiation of China’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality policy agenda is inseparable from concerns about Problem Streams, discussions on policy streams, and the promotion of Political Streams, as well as the help of policy entrepreneurs. In the future, in the process of continuously promoting carbon peaking and carbon neutrality policies, China should be problem-oriented, continuously optimize policy guidelines, continue to deepen the political environment and promote comprehensive green transformation and sustainable economic and social development with "Double carbon" policies. Abstract:
In 2020/21, the collaborative distributed Hungarian library platform will be completed and introduced, revolutionizing library services with state-of-the-art IT solutions. The Hungarian National Library Platform (HNLP) puts the national library services, the common catalog and interlibrary loan, the services of the ISBN office, the digitization cooperation on a new foundation, and integrates the Hungarian National Namespace and opens up entity-based data connections beyond the library world. It expands the range of services provided to readers, providing legitimate digital content to both library visitors and remotely logged in online users. It provides modern interfaces for publishers and authors to expand the range of information about their publications with relevant data. It is open to libraries to replace, in part or in full, their existing IT solutions and, moving into the cloud-based system, use it as their own integrated library platform. The parameterdriven HNLP allows connected libraries to create a unique brand image, deliver their collections in the most diverse way, while becoming an integral part of an entity-based data model-based metadata repository and digital object repository. The collaboration between libraries, which began in 2016 with the design of the new platform, has now entered a new phase: our partners review the specifications, the libraries provide their data for the developed modules, test the system elements, and then the entire platform in an integrated way. The first module of the HNLP, the “old and rare books” module, was launched in October 2019, followed by the launch of the Library Science Library in 2020, and in 2021 the operation of the National Széchényi Library in this modern environment will follow. What are the main pillars of this platform? What secures the required flexibility? What makes it capable of accommodating any type of metadata and serving any type of library? How can all types of libraries be connected, small and large libraries, university and church, public and private libraries alike? How is the system open to the processing of archival and museum materials? What has been achieved so far and what are the next steps until the full transition?
