Full textThere is little information available about the epidemiological profile of the indigenous children population, mainly in the Western Amazon Region. Knowledge about morbidity and demand to health services assists in the structuring of health systems. The Indigenous Nursing House (CASAI) works as a support unit, receiving the indigenous people referred for health treatment in the network of the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS). The CASAI of Rio Branco serves the indigenous population from two Special Indigenous Sanitary Districts (DSEI): Alto Rio Purus and Alto Rio Jurua. Aiming to outline the epidemiological profile of referred indigenous children in Acre and nearby areas, we evaluated medical records of all children under 10 years of age who have passed the CASAI of Rio Branco from January 2003 to December 2007. The most frequent causes of hospitalization in the CASAI were infectious and parasitic diseases (Chapter I of International Classification of Diseases - 10º edition) with 19per cent, followed by respiratory diseases (chapter X of the ICD-10) with 16.5per cent. Malaria was the fifth most frequent cause. In 23per cent of cases the 10 cause of hospitalization was not found on records. There was an increased participation of congenital malformations (Chapter XVII of ICD-10) in the final years of the study, suggesting an epidemiological transition process. A high prevalence of children under two years of age (44per cent) was observed, mainly in the first year of life (26.5per cent), with few newborns (3.9per cent). Almost all the children enrolled (95per cent) were resident in villages in the forest. Cultural differences between ethnic and difficult access to villages were the main determinants of demand and the type of morbidity that comes to CASAI

Full textThis work is a reflection about the mura social organization, from the study of one of the villages that make up the Indigenous Area Cunhã-Sapucaia, situated in the city of Borba (AM). The theme of the community construction and maintenance unfolds to the broader picture of multilocal relations that encompass the universe of other villages in the area, organized around the river Igapó-Açu axis, through lines that outline the political space. Line is a guiding concept of this dissertation, a definition of the relationship, it unfolds as a way of thinking as it expresses itself in different contexts. The mura village as a political and cosmopolitical area, provides the context in which we will accompany the body manufacturing process and the definition of mura personhood, key to the comprehension of the kinship and the socius.

Full textThe important role veloped by Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus sobrinus in dental caries ethyology as well as the relevance of the culture medium used for the detection of these microorganisms, the aims of the present study were divided into three parts as follows: Chapter 1 To evaluate the modified SB-20 culture medium efficacy (SB-20M) in the morphologic differentiation of the S. utans and S. sobrinus colonies comparatively to the biochemical analysis of the isolated colonies in childrens saliva samples; Chapter 2 To compare the culture media SB- 20, SB-20M, and MSB in the quantification (counting) of the colony forming units (cfu), and in the morphological and iochemical differentiation of S. mutans and S. sobrinus in childrens saliva; and Chapter 3 To employ the SB-20M culture medium without agar, called Sucrose Bacitracin Broth Modified (CaSaB-20M), in order to evaluate the viability of the in vitro S. mutans pattern strains (ATCC 25175), and the viability of the in vivo mutans streptococci in toothbrush bristles after different dry periods. In Chapter 1, the efficacy of the SB-20M was evaluated by wood spatula technique using non-stimulated saliva samples of 145 children of 6 to 12 years old. After seeding and incubation in microaerophilic conditions, the cfu counting in stereoscopic microscope, and the morphological and biochemical identification (biotyping) of S. mutans and S. sobrinus colonies were made. The results obtained after morphological and biochemical identifications were compared by the X2 test. In Chapter 2, the comparison of the SB-20, SB-20M, and MSB culture medium was made using assay tubes with non-stimulated saliva samples of 20 children with age between 4 and 12 years old. Samples of pure and diluted saliva (until 10-4) were seeded by a micromethod in Petri dishes with the culture media, and incubated under microaerophilic conditions, followed by the cfu counting, and morphological and biochemical identification of S. mutans and S. sobrinus colonies. The results obtained were submitted to the statistical analysis using Wilcoxon test and the exact Fisher test. In the in vitro study of the Chapter 3, a total of 45 childrens toothbrush divided in 9 groups (n=5 per group) were infected with a Streptococcus mutans (strain ATCC25175) suspension, under the concentration of 1.720.000 colony forming unities by mL (McFarland 0.5 scale) during 4 minutes. Briefly, after washing the Group 1 toothbrushes (control) were submitted to the microbiological processing. Group 2 to 9 toothbrushes were maintained in room temperature for 4, 8, 12, 14, 24, 36, 48, 60, and 72 hours respectively, previously to microbiological processing in CaSaB-20M culture medium. After that, the S. mutans cfu counting in the bristles were made. The results obtained were analysed by KruskalWallis test. In the in vivo study of the Chapter 3, 20 high caries risk children of 4 to 8 years old children have been participated. Each child received 13 times brushing, with intervals of 3 days between each brushing using always a new toothbrush with no toothpaste. The 260 obtained toothbrushes were divided into 13 groups (n=20 per group). After whashing the Group 1 toothbrushes (control) were submitted to microbiological processing. The other ones (groups 2 to 13) were maintained in room temperature for 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, and 48 hours respectively, previously the microbiological processing (CaSaB-20M). After incubation the S. mutans cfu counting and the quantification of extracellular polysaccharides present in the bristles were made. The data obtained were evaluated by Wilcoxon test. The level of significance in all statistical analysis was 5%. Based on the results obtained we could conclude that de morphological method for identification using SB-20M culture medium was trustable for the identification of S. mutans and S. sobrinus. The SB-20 and SB-20M showed the same effect in the quantification of the mutans streptococci, and in the morphological and biochemical identification of S. mutans and S. sobrinus evidentiating that the substitution of sucrose for coarse granular cane sugar (SB-20M) did not altered the efficacy of the medium. When compared to MSB medium, the SB-20M showed results statistically superiors with relation to cfu quantification, and morphological and biochemical of S. mutans and S. sobrinus. Sucrose-Bacitracin modified broth (CaSaB-20M) allowed the evaluation of the viability of mutans streptococci in toothbrush bristles after different drying times. According to the in vitro study with Streptococcus mutans (ATCC 25175), we could observe viability of microorganisms in toothbrush bristles for 8 hours remaining. On the other hand, in the in vivo study the mutans streptococci remain viable for extended periods (44 hours).

It has been postulated that there is a relationship between service quality and the post-purchase behavior of customers. The Casamia Fitness Center was chosen as a case study and data on selected demographic parameters, members’ consumer behavior, service quality and the overall quality of experience were collected; these were further analysed for any possible relationships. Specifically, the correlation between three pairs of variables was studied service quality and the overall quality of experience, service quality and post-purchase behavior, and finally the overall quality of experience and post-purchase behavior. 385 questionnaires were obtained. Reliability analysis and factor analysis were used to derive a measure of service quality. Statistical analysis was performed using the t-test, single factor variable analysis, Pearson's chi-square test, and regression analysis. The results show that product design should focus on the following in order of importance: safety and affordability, design, product image, cleanliness and comfort, and concern and trust. A significant difference between membership demographic parameters and consumer behaviors to satisfaction dimensions in service quality. The quality of individual products or services had a statistically significant effect on the overall quality of experience as well as post-purchase behavior. The overall quality of experience also had a statistically significant effect on post-consumer behavior. According to this research, different aspects of service quality have an effect on post-purchase behavior. In order to ensure the sustainability of fitness clubs, individual aspects of service quality need to be focused on and improved on.

Full textThis Report of the Supervised Teaching Practice origins from an atittude of reflection towards a growing world on the most varied life matters. Among them, human relations stands out. Now that interpersonal communication evolved, people have diferente ways of being, thinking, acting and living their lives on this world. New alternatives and challenging experiences emerge, but with some doubtfulness. In this sense, and with television program Married at First Sight as backround, I strive to rediscover and refurbish the outlook on the sacrament of christian and catholic marriage. On the one hand, rediscovering it’s simbolic and sacramental action, in order to cover itself on exclusivity, this is, two become one in flesh and of indissolubility, which nothing can tear them apart, due to their consent and God’s blessing. On the other hand, as of the mutual consentment of the grooms, of their choice where they give themselves to each other, the renew of the sight is within the eternal and unique yes, on the common desire of a life project as a continuous construction. It’s to give and let one self on the hand of another, which trust is founded on love. It’s being open handed and compromisse in transforming your and the other’s life in an authentic work of art.
