Abstract:
This article investigates the work of philosopher and experimental psychologist Carl Stumpf with a focus on embedding his scientific perspective in a practice of musicianship. Stumpf wrote in an autobiographical essay from 1924 that he had considered becoming a professional violin player before taking up the study of philosophy. I claim that the practice of learning and playing this instrument sheds light on his concept of music, and at the same time signals its relevance for nineteenth-century musical aesthetics. To carve out the role of Stumpf's musicianship, I propose a “psychoanalytic” approach of tone psychology in the sense of Gaston Bachelard. For this I read through Stumpf's writings to trace the function and role of practices like analyzing tones and tunes, memorizing and notating pitch and melody, and using related tools and techniques like phonography. This is held against a reconstruction of his mentioning of the violin and of the context of violin pedagogy in the mid-nineteenth century. In so doing, I hope eventually to sharpen the notion of tone in Stumpf and thereby to contribute to a better understanding of his concept of complex qualities as opposed to the notion of Gestalt in the generation of his students.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract This article, inspired by Rudolf Haller’s thesis of an independent, specific, and unitary Austrian tradition of scientific philosophy, develops the idea of a specific Austrian tradition of psychological research, as distinguished in its development from that in Germany. This tradition was shaped by two phenomenological trends, which were merged into unity in Prague by Carl Stumpf and Brentano’s students of the second generation. One trend traces back to Goethe and was continued in Prague by the physiologists Jan E. Purkinje and Ewald Hering, culminating in the work of Ernst Mach. The other trend was initiated by Franz Brentano and spread through his school. Stumpf was the key integrator of these two traditions, which he then partially passed on to his Berlin students and founders of Gestalt psychology. Finally, Karl Bühler’s “reimport” of the Brentanian psychological legacy into the Vienna of the First Republic is briefly illustrated.

Abstract:
In harvest areas the soil preparation is occasionally necessary before reforestation including the removal, collection and transportation of stumps from the soil. Issues related to climate change and the shortage of fossil energy sources call for an increased rate of renewable energy sources. Using the stumps removed from the soil as fuel is a significant resource for biomass. For lifting a stump together with its roots a grab mounted on a shovel is generally used. To rationalise this operation, analyses of stump lifting time have been carried out. We tested a machine mounting one grab for stump lifting on three tree types (Scots pine, robinia and poplar) and found functions correlating stump extraction force and stump diameter, which can be used in order to choose the right machine and determine the cost of the operation.

Abstract:
Abstract The article describes the use of mulcher technology in forestry for the care of forest crops, removal of overgrowth under power lines, in the right-of-way of gas and oil pipelines, railways and highways. With the help of mulchers, they create fire strips in the forest, make clearings. Mulchers clean fallen trees after fires, floods and hurricanes. They are involved in landscaping and agricultural work. The article examines the work of the PT-400 self-propelled tillage mulcher for the surface crushing of logging waste on the utilized poplar plantations of the Oryakhovsky state forestry in Bulgaria. The work of the Rotor Ferri S stump grinder was studied when crushing poplar stumps with a diameter of up to 50 cm. The hourly productivity of these machines at various operations was determined, and also the process of crushing stumps and felling residues by fractional composition was studied. The work of the mulcher was compared with the bulldozer technology and the mounted tractor stump grinder Rotor Ferri S. It was concluded that the mounted stump grinder Rotor Ferri S is the most suitable machine for grinding poplar stumps of any diameter, since its productivity significantly exceeds that of the PT-400 mulcher/tiller. The load on the tractor is minimal, which saves energy. At the same time, mulching technology is very effective and in demand.

Abstract:
Abstract1. We studied the ecological aspects of maternal brood care of Chirixalus eiffingeri in bamboo forests at the Experimental Forest of National Taiwan University at Chitou, Taiwan, from 1996-1998. 2. It appears that the arboreal tadpoles of C. eiffingeri are obligatorily oophagous, maternal brood care is critical to their growth and development. If, for any reason, the female frog does not return to deposit trophic eggs into the arboreal pools, the tadpoles will not grow. 3. The female C. eiffingeri appears to be able to orient herself to the correct bamboo stump using topographical, olfactory or other cues to avoid feeding unrelated tadpoles. 4. The female C. eiffingeri devotes a large amount of energy to reproduction in that she not only invests energy to produce eggs that later become her offspring, but also allocates a tremendous amount of energy in producing eggs to feed her young. The amount of energy required for brooding and the limited number of suitable nest sites in the bamboo forests probably explain why every female frog except one in this study brooded tadpoles in only one of the bamboo stumps. 5. In most cases, all of the tadpoles in a bamboo stump were fed by only one female, but there were two bamboo stumps where two females fed the tadpoles. 6. Our results from Experiments 1-3 suggest that maternal provision of eggs for nutrition of tadpoles in C. eiffingeri incurs a reproductive cost. The female frog cannot desert her tadpoles because this will result in their deaths, thus, she is forced to withhold the future reproduction to ensure the survivorship of current offspring.

Abstract:
Background: Human milk, in addition to nutrients, contains many biologically active substances including immunoglobulins, growth factors, cytokines, and a diverse population of somatic cells. Breast milk involves no risk of allergy, contains antibodies, and contains factors such as epidermal growth factor (EGF) and erythropoietin, which may promote the growth and repair of skin cells. The discovery of stem cells and the HAMLET complex in breast milk has led to increased interest in human milk as a natural medicine. Aim of the study: The aim of the study was to identify the effect of topical application of breast milk on the separation time of the umbilical cord stump in newborns. Case report: This paper presents the case of a patient who decided to treat her child’s umbilical cord stump with colostrum/breast milk because her two older children had experienced long umbilical stump separation times. As a result of this treatment, separation of the stump occurred 90 hours after labor. There were no abnormalities in the construction of the navel, complications, or separation disorders of the umbilical cord stump. Conclusion: This research demonstrates that colostrum/mother’s milk was used as an easy, cheap, effective, and natural method of umbilical cord care.

Abstract:
Category: Sports Introduction/Purpose: Acute rupture of the Achilles tendon is a frequent injury in our country, being the most common rupture of the tendon of the lower limbs(1), especially in men aged between 40-50 years(2). The main complication of the surgical treatment is the care of the soft tissue. To minimize this risk, the technique of three transverse incisions has shown good results and low postoperative complications. We believe that this surgical technique is a good alternative, especially with regard to soft tissue complications. Therefore, the objective of this work is to describe this surgical technique and demonstrate the benefits of its performance, since special materials are not required, and can be performed in any orthopedic service, in addition to the risk of soft tissue involvement. Methods: The proximal and distal stumps are palpated and a demarcation is performed 2 cm proximal to the proximal stump and 2 cm distal to the distal stump. A third demarcation is performed in the center of the gap. The first incision is performed proximally, opening the paratenon and exposing the proximal stump; the suture used is of the Krackow type and Vycril 2 was used. The same procedure is performed on the distal stump. After that, the third incision is made to allow suturing of the extremities and tendon approximation. Procedure performed with the foot in maximum plantar flexion. The planes (paratendon, subcutaneous and skin) are sutured and the limb is immobilized in plantar flexion. The patient remains immobilized in plantar flexion (1 week). The immobilization is exchanged for an orthopedic boot with 4 shims of 1.5 cm each and weight bearing is released with the aid of crutches. Results: Follow-up is performed in the first week for dressing evaluation and in the third week for stitch removal. After that, the patient returns at 6, 12, 24 and 48 weeks after surgery. To date, this technique has been used in 24 patients. There were no re- ruptures, sural nerve neuropraxia/axonotmesis or deep infection. There was 1 case with a superficial infection, which was quickly treated with oral antibiotic therapy. To date, 6 patients have completed the 48-week postoperative follow-up. Conclusion: New studies should be carried out for the best decision on the treatment to be followed in the event of an acute rupture of the Achilles tendon, as well as studies demonstrating, it is hoped, a decrease in the rate of complications with the use of less invasive techniques. Due to the low follow-up (6 patients) we have, it is difficult to make a comparison between the percutaneous and minimally invasive techniques currently described in the literature. documentation of the effectiveness and benefit of this technique.

Abstract:
Soybean crop has contributed to improve the financial strength of the Indian farmers. It usually fetches higher income to the farmers owing to the massive export market for Soybean de-oiled cake. In state of Maharashtra Soybean is cultivated extensively in Amravati district. So the present studies explore the seasonality and price forecasting issue for Soybean crop. The is based on the secondary data. The monthly wholesale prices and arrivals data for the study collected from the agmarknet.gov.in for the period January 2008 to December 2017. To analyze the data we use statistical techniques like seasonality and exponential smoothing for price forecasting. The processing of data is done through MS- Excel and MINITAB Software. The study gives an overview of the different time series analytical methods, which can be used for price forecasting. The present study is undertaken precisely to fill the research gap and results of this study found an inverse relationship between price and market arrivals of soybean. The arrivals were recorded very high from October to January and seasonal indices of price were elevated during August in which arrivals were found stumpy. The assessment of all three Exponential Smoothing models was carried out in the procedure based on the Double Exponential model with MAD (168.3) and MAPE (6.14) values, which were considered in the smallest amount. The accuracy of proportion among the forecasted and actual price value of soybean was found in between 80.52 to 85.55 percent. It was pragmatic that the Double Exponential model was the most appropriate for forecasting the soybean.

The current study was a comparative, descriptive and retrospective study which was performed under a university setting where all the data of patients with root stumps of primary teeth were collected by reviewing patients records and analysed the data of 86000 patients between June 2019 to March 2020. The collected data were tabulated; statistical analysis was done by SPSS – IBM. The study showed that out of 2360 extractions, 35 (1.5%)was found to be root stumps of primary teeth. The root stumps were more prevalent among four years of age (42.86%) with female predilection (81.25%) and the higher incidence with maxillary 2nd molars (11.4%). The prevalence of tooth loss was found to be high in children as well as the adults so dental professionals should utilize the various measures and protocols available in preventive dentistry to minimise the effects of tooth loss.

Abstract:
There is no standard method for closure of an appendiceal stump during laparoscopic appendectomy. This study compares stump closure using a stapler with closure using an Endoloop ligature. The charts of all patients who underwent laparoscopic appendectomy at a single tertiary care center over a two-year period were reviewed for demographics, comobidities, operative details and costs, and outcomes. There were 325 patients who underwent a laparoscopic appendectomy. The majority, 250 (77%), underwent stump closure with a stapler. They were equivalent in demographics and postoperative complication rates. Cases using an Endoloop were slightly faster in terms of procedure time and room time, and less expensive in terms of operative supply cost. The price difference is not explained by time saved in the operating room and more likely by the equipment price.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Objective: To report the educational experience with pregnant women considering the recovery of collective memory inherited from the care for the umbilical cord stump provided by grandmothers. Method: This case study was based on collective memory and resulted from a workshop with 20 pregnant women from a Basic Health Unit in a city in the inland of Bahia. Results: The study showed that pregnant women’s grandmothers are significant in the stump care process because they transmit their memories pervaded by beliefs, myths and superstitions that, although should be respected by nurses and other health professionals, can sometimes contribute to the occurrence of omphalitis and neonatal tetanus. Final considerations: The results indicated the need for raising awareness and education of all persons involved in this care, especially grandmothers, so that they can reflect on the risks and damage that certain empirical knowledge can cause to the health of the umbilical cord.

Abstract:
Tooth loss is the terminal event in the life of a tooth and is a frequent episode in individuals who are uncared and have neglected oral hygiene. Tooth loss has various ill effects on an individual such as impairment of masticatory function, bad phonetics, unpleasant aesthetics, TMJ disorders, psychological issues, social withdrawal which results from decrease in confidence level. It is evident that caries and periodontitis are the most common causes for tooth loss with caries being the commonest between them. Neglected oral health may result in caries progression, which will lead to formation of root stumps. The aim of the study is to find the prevalence and incidence of root stumps of permanent teeth in pediatric patients. The study was performed under a university setting where the data of patients with root stumps of permanent teeth was collected by reviewing patients records and analysing the data of 86000 patients. The collected data was compiled, reviewed, tabulated and entered in SPSS software for statistical analysis. The study shows that only 2% were extractions of root stumps of permanent teeth. Extraction of root stumps of permanent teeth were more prevalent in patients of 9 and 11 years of age (34%) with a female predilection with most common teeth being the maxillary second premolar (22.2%). This study indicates the negligence of parents regarding the oral health of the children and provides insight on parents’ care towards the oral health of the child. Preventive measures such as topical fluoride application and usage of denial fissure sealants should be encouraged to prevent caries. Thus, the preservation of the natural dentition should be the ultimate goal of the dental professionals.
