Abstract:
Le carceri, nonostante la forte e perdurante domanda di miglioramento delle loro condizioni di abitabilità, rappresentano un caso emblematico di situazioni inerti alla trasformazione. A fronte di tale contraddizione, sperimentare nuovi metodi e strumenti di progetto appare sempre più urgente. Questo articolo propone la de?nizione di alcuni percorsi possibili, attraverso una lettura autori?essiva di un'esperienza svolta ‘sul campo'. La sperimentazione, localizzata principalmente nel carcere di Bollate, ha riguardato la realizzazione di nuovi spazi e attrezzature per le attività sportive. Gli strumenti esplorati rappresentano il tentativo di coniugare, in modo fertile, le dimensioni trasformativa e processuale, attraverso l'interazione sociale con i diversi attori coinvolti.

L'articolo pone attenzione al tema dello sport in carcere, con un focus sulla situazione attuale in Italia. Attività ?sica e pratica sportiva sono diritti fondamentali di ogni individuo con importanti effetti positivi sulla sua salute psico?sica. È in tale prospettiva che lo studio della pratica dello sport in luoghi chiusi e tradizionalmente dif?cili come quelli delle carceri assume importanza. La disponibilità e l'utilizzo di spazi adeguati costituiscono aspetti fondamentali per il miglioramento della qualità della vita e dell'attività sportiva. Alla loro valutazione e monitoraggio oggi concorrono anche semplici sistemi ‘indossabili', come quelli che la ricerca ACTS ha utilizzato per elaborare interventi tesi a rendere gli spazi dell'istituto detentivo di Bollate (Milano) meno dif?cili.

Nelle carceri è storicamente percepita l'incapacità dell'ordinamento penitenziario italiano di tradurre i propri valori ispirativi in spazi di minima qualità abitativa per i detenuti e le attività che ne dovrebbero favorire il reinserimento sociale. A fronte di un patrimonio edilizio vetusto e inadeguato, un approccio possibile per incidere positivamente su tali condizioni critiche è la costruzione di un sapere progettuale teso a modi?care le strutture esistenti, attraverso l'indagine delle potenzialità insite nelle loro forme e nelle pratiche che devono ospitare. Questo è l'obiettivo di un programma di ricerca in corso da anni, che ha trovato una declinazione innovativa nella ri?essione e nell'agire progettuale su temi, spazi e pratiche dello sport e dell'attività motoria in carcere.

Abstract:
Aim/Background: Breast Carcinoma is one of the most common cancers occurring mostly in adolescents and has a very high risk of malignancy. Despite of some challenges with the present therapeutic approaches, alternatives have gained popularity, such as ayurveda, homeopathy, siddha, unani, etc including the use of phytochemicals and various other anticancer compositions. Carcino SC Mammae 200CH is a homeopathic medicinal mother tincture which is not as much therapeutically known for its exceptional health benefits and have to be explored for its effective activities during breast cancer. The current study aimed at evaluating the anti-cancer properties of Carcino SC Mammae 200CH on MDA-MB-231 cell line for human breast cancer, by investigating its apoptotic activity through changes in cell viability. Materials and Methods: Carcino SC Mammae 200CHwas achieved through local market in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with ity in the concentration range 3.125 µg/mL to 75µg/mL of the Carcino SC Mammae 200CH and incubated for 24, 48, and 72 hr. The percentage cell viability and IC50 values were obtained. The nuclear changes were examined. GraphPad Prism was used for statistical analysis with significant p-value at <0.05. Results: The IC50 values obtained for Carcino SC Mammae 200CH were 75µg/mL, 25µg/mL, and 6.25µg/mL for 24, 48, and 72 hr respectively. Change in the nuclear morphology was observed following incubation with Carcino SC Mammae 200CH. Conclusion: Our result suggests that Carcino SC Mammae 200CH have shown significant effects on MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells and can be considered to supplement conventional therapeutic strategies.

Abstract:
The larval development of the parasitic barnacle, Sacculina carcini, has been closely followed. Size and volume measurements have been made for the four naupliar stages and cyprids of both male and female broods. Volume increases between naupliar stages are minimal (x 1.03–1.09) and in line with other barnacle species with lecithotrophic larvae. However, the large volume reduction between stage IV and cyprid for S. carcini, which is more acute for the female larvae, is a unique characteristic. The reduced setation formulae of the larval appendages of S. carcini and another rhizocephalan are compared to those of larvae, both lecithotrophic and planktotrophic, of a range of barnacles. Sex ratios and carapace length data for 184 S. carcini cypris populations are presented which reinforce the seasonal changes in sex ratios.

Quale ruolo assume il teatro nel contesto carcerario? Quali politiche culturali attivate in carcere possono favorire il reinserimento del soggetto recluso nella società civile, in favore di un benessere sociale che riguardi non solo il carcere ma tutta la comunità? Nonostante l'assenza di dati e misurazioni sistematiche, gli effetti positivi del teatro in carcere sono certificati da un'ampia e approfondita letteratura psicologia e sociologica e dalle testimonianze dirette di detenuti e operatori. L'autrice attraversa la principale letteratura in merito integrandola con testimo-nianze di attori-detenuti, per indagare l'impatto dell'attività teatrale su più livelli della vita reclusa: individuale-trattamentale, istituzionale e sociale (Giordano et al., 2017). Ne emerge una visione complessiva del fenomeno del teatro in carcere come progetto culturale e artistico con importanti ricadute positive sul benessere psi-cologico dei detenuti, sul tessuto relazionale e sul rapporto con la società esterna.

Abstract:
Carcino-sarcoma is a malignant mixed mesodermal neoplasm accounting for less than 1% of all ovarian tumors. It is an aggressive tumor, composed of both malignant epithelial and mesenchymal components. To the best of our knowledge, less than 400 cases of ovarian carcino-sarcomas have been reported in the literature and only 10% of them are bilateral. In this paper, we report a new case of unilateral ovarian carcino-sarcoma in a 20-year-old adolescent girl with the aim to analyze it with its possible differentials, treatment and prognosis due to rarity of its occurrence in young age.

Il progetto nasce a scala urbana con la finalità di riqualificare un’area prossima al centro storico nella quale è stata interrotta la regolarità della griglia presente nella città dalla sua fondazione. La volontà, quindi, è quella di riproporre all’interno dell’area un nuovo centro di quartiere inserendo funzioni pubbliche e riaprendo al culto la chiesa esistente. Studiando la collocazione dei carceri all’interno della città dalla sua fondazione ad oggi, il carcere viene quindi inserito all’interno del nuovo centro come nella città di fondazione. Data la critica situazione di sovraffollamento dei carceri a Bogotà, il progetto si pone l’obiettivo di rispondere in parte a questo problema e, siccome è fondato sulle dimensioni originarie della città, può costituire un modello da poter riproporre in altre aree all’interno del tessuto urbano, andando quindi a costituire una sorta di “sistema carcerario”.

Quelli del carcere sono spazi fortemente determinati da condizioni di tipo burocratico e politico dove i contenuti dell’Architettura e dell’Urbanistica hanno scarsa, o nulla, rilevanza. In virtù, quindi, della ricerca di un nuovo significato del progetto, la dissertazione vuole affermare la coerenza della riqualificazione delle attuali strutture detentive per poi delinearne le caratteristiche. Si definiscono così i principi per un intervento che avvenga “da dentro”, attraverso l’uso delle risorse interne e dunque attraverso l’autodeterminazione. La tesi dimostrerà il campo di utilità del progetto architettonico e la sua rilevanza in quanto strumento di ridistribuzione di diritti e risorse in un ambito che ne soffre fortemente la scarsità.

Abstract:
This work takes steps from a circular by the prison administration, which has been sent to all prison directors some years ago. The letter clearly present a growing concern with prisoners described as “psychiatric”, who have been held responsible for several aggressions on prison staff or other inmates. In that circular the prison administration expressed the problem (growing presence of so-called “psychiatric prisoners”), framing it explicitly as a matter of order and security. In doing so, they argue that the healthcare service should collaborate strictly with the prison staff in order to guarantee security; and suggests that, when it is believed to be necessary, they should together “valorise the tools provided by the system” – that is, providing for the transfer of the prisoner to a psychiatric unit (specifying very emphatically that this should not be used as a disciplinary sanction). This research, thus, moves from a very explorative question: what is going on here? After some months of exploratory observation and interviews, some key points have been identified. The first aim of this study is to understand the features standing behind the “psychiatric issue” (or “new asylum”) narrative: this mean that we should try to understand the reasons why such a problem is being posed now, when it is very well known that psychological problems have been a major issue in prison since its very existence. Most of the staff explains it recalling the recent closure of Forensic Mental Hospitals (2015), adopting a narrative which is best described as the “new asylum thesis” (cfr. Ben Mosche, 2017). As it has been the case with the closure of the Asylums (began in 1978 but concluded in the mid 90’s), it is argued, many psychiatric patients are now “left to themselves” by the territorial psychiatric services, being taken in charge by the institution “who never says no”: the prison. I will try to look critically to such argument, trying to explain the phenomena in a more complex way. Secondly, the thesis aims to understand the ways in which the problem is being currently managed. This involves two related issues: 1) The ordinary collaboration between prison and medical staff in the pursuit of the institutional goals: in this sense it is important to notice how the symbolic and practical traits which are typical of the “prison cultures” (Vianello, 2018; Torrente, 2018) are interiorized and reproduced by the healthcare professionals working in prison. 2) The study of the extraordinary strategies of govern, which are implemented through the circulation of some “psychiatric prisoners” all around a complex and fragmented carceral-psychiatric archipelago. In this sense it will be possible to understand how the disabling effects of the prison become embodied in the prisoners themselves, being reproduced far behind the prison walls in an heterogeneous set of circumstances.

Abstract:
Este panorama constituye una interesante oportunidad para aprovechar la dinámica en que se encuentra la ciudad y enfrentar problemáticas reales y contingentes. Una de ellas, nace de la relación entre su afianzamiento como “capital cultural” y el equipamiento necesario para que ello suceda. Ciertamente que, para lograr dicho objetivo, es necesario dotarla de programas que den cabida y potencien aquella condición. Así, uno de los proyectos más relevantes, es la construcción de un gran centro cultural, en los terrenos de la ex cárcel pública. Esta propuesta, si bien cuenta con el beneplácito del Gobierno y la Intendencia Regional, se ha gestado a partir de la colaboración ciudadana y el apoyo de diferentes organizaciones sin fines de lucro. Desde el desalojo de la cárcel, en 1999, hasta la actualidad, la lucha entre dichas agrupaciones y el Gobierno, ha sido intensa. Las intenciones de éste último por materializar un proyecto inmobiliario de gran densidad de ocupación, contrastan con los propósitos de la ciudadanía y las distintas organizaciones de hacer del recinto un equipamiento cultural de proporciones. Lograr el consenso ha sido difícil y por supuesto lo seguirá siendo hasta la culminación del proyecto, sin embargo este año se ha dado un gran paso. A fines de abril, el Ministerio de Vivienda y Bienes Nacionales, traspasó la totalidad de los terrenos (más de dos hectáreas) al Gobierno Regional, con el objeto de materializar finalmente el proyecto. Por supuesto, un gran triunfo para la ciudadanía, quienes no verán bloques de vivienda y centros comerciales en el estratégico terreno. De esta forma, el paso siguiente, es plasmar los diferentes intereses, en un proyecto edificable y realista, que permita aprovechar semejante oportunidad, generando una estructura acorde con las necesidades de la ciudad.

El sentido del proyecto cultural pasa por cumplir un papel relevante para su población. Además por las características "mundiales" que posee la ciudad, su impacto debiera superar los límites políticos de ésta. En este sentido, ante todo debe ser un espacio que aporte al desarrollo de Valparaíso, que logre involucrar a la población formal e informal de Valparaíso en una actividad abierta y participativa, sin excluir el espectáculo masivo. La propuesta se desarrolla en base a dos premisas que son claves: el espacio público y la memoria colectiva, unido y relacionado a través del patrimonio tangible de la ex cárcel, sus muros y sus edificaciones relevantes.

Resumo: Analisamos o contexto histórico em que nasceu a ¿filosofia da práxis¿ de Antonio Gramsci nos Cadernos do cárcere e a própria compreensão, na sua dimensão atual e nos seus limites, sobre história, economia, ciência, ideologia e política, intrínseca a sua concepção de mundo, ao seu marxismo. Consideramos para esse fim a importante influência científico-filosófica de Antonio Labriola, Georges Sorel, Benedetto Croce e Giovanni Gentile. Não isentamos da totalidade da discussão sobre o pensamento do autor sardo, e da construção de sua ética-política, a fundamental ascendência teórica de Nicolai Lênin e Rosa Luxemburgo, dentre outros autores. Conferimos também a oposição gramsciana ao materialismo vulgar, mecanicista, da II Internacional e, especialmente, ao marxismo de Nicolai Bukhárin, um movimento de idéias, que tem como epicentro o conceito de hegemonia, determinante para a configuração geral da teoria do comunista italiano
Abstract: It is the analised the historical context in which the ¿praxis philosophy¿ was born in Antonio Gramsci¿s Prison Notebooks, but also the comprehension itself, in its outstanding dimension and limits, of history, economy, science, ideology and politics connected to its Marxist world conception. With this aim in mind, the important scientific and philosophic influence of Antonio Labriola, Georges Sorel, Benedetto Croce and Giovanni Gentile will be considered. What will not be exempt from the totality of the discussion about the thought of the Sardinian author and the construction of his ethical politics, will be the fundamental theoretical ascendance of Nicolai Lênin and Rosa Luxemburgo, among other writers. The thesis will also analyse Gramsci¿s opposition to the vulgar and mechanicist materialism of the Second International, and specially to Nicolai Bukhárin¿s Marxism, a movement of ideas has as its epicenter the concept of hegemony, a determining factor to the general configuration of the theory of the Italian communist

Abstract:
Since the series of etchings known as the Carceri d’Invenzione created by Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1788) there has been extensive debate as to their meanings. Taking advantage of drawing and the print medium, Piranesi manipulated perspective to create dislocated and irrational architecture that challenges the viewer and creates a deep sense of unease. This thesis analyses the compositional issues the Carceri provoke and explores the ambiguous relationship they forge between architecture and pictoriality. Piranesi was creating a rupture within the conventions of architectural representation; the Carceri serve as a denunciation of contemporary architectural practices he perceived as stagnant. The prints are projections that raise questions about the very nature of architectural representation that are still relevant to modern practices. Chapter 1 is a Literature Review that includes various theories and interpretations of the Carceri from the eighteenth-century to the present time. Chapter 2 examines the architectural theories and ideas being developed during the eighteenth-century and the intellectual context for the prints. Chapter 3 is a close analysis of the prints, paying attention to the instances of illogical spaces created, with a particular focus on those prints that contain examples of discontinuous space and distorted perspectives that have not been identified or discussed in detail in the previous literature. Chapter 4 examines the way Piranesi uses the temporal to explore architectural representation; the importance of history and the past to his work; and how printmaking and etching in particular enable Piranesi to encompass two critical elements, enlightenment rationality in the form of engineering, architectural analysis and description, and the expressive powers of the imagination.

Il presente lavoro, frutto di una ricerca-azione svolta sul territorio di Bologna assieme agli enti locali, si è occupato di approfondire i percorsi di reinserimento sociale di detenuti vulnerabili, in particolare quelli che, terminata la pena, possono diventare persone senza dimora. Non si tratta solo di persone entrate in carcere nella condizione di senza dimora, ma anche di detenuti che potrebbero diventare tali durante la propria reclusione. Il fenomeno ha varie cause, fra le quali si ipotizza anche la condizione detentiva appena conclusasi, insufficientemente finalizzata al reinserimento sociale del condannato e, pertanto, distaccata dai suoi bisogni, desideri, aspettative, paure e, più in generale, priva di un incontro strutturato con la società libera. Nella prima parte, il testo analizza la letteratura internazionale sul fenomeno, con un particolare focus su due recenti documenti nazionali chiave per un rilancio dell’interesse sul tema: le “Linee di indirizzo per il contrasto alla grave emarginazione adulta in Italia” del Ministero del Lavoro e delle Politiche sociali e il documento finale degli Stati Generali sull’Esecuzione Penale del Ministero della Giustizia. Nella seconda parte, il testo presenta la ricerca-azione, i cui risultati convergono nell’implementazione di un insieme di politiche sociali e pratiche educative orientate a contenere il fenomeno, azioni in parte già rese operative e realizzate assieme alle istituzioni bolognesi, coinvolte nella ricerca.
This thesis is a study of the social reintegration of vulnerable prisoners, especially those who are expected to become homeless after the detention. They are not only people in prison with a past of homelessness, but also prisoners who could become homeless during their imprisonment. The phenomenon has various causes, such as the situation after the detention has ended. The treatment may not be sufficiently oriented to the social rehabilitation and, therefore, detached from needs, desires, expectations and fears of prisoners and, more generally, they don’t meet the free society. The first part of the report reviews the international literature on the phenomenon, with a particular focus on two recent Italian documents: the “Linee di indirizzo per il contrasto alla grave emarginazione adulta in Italia” of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy(Ministero del Lavoro e delle Politiche sociali) and the final document of a special General Assembly (Stati Generali sull’Esecuzione Penale) of the Ministry of Justice (Ministero della Giustizia). The second part of the report presents the research-action developed in the Bologna area, in particular the results of implementation of a set of educational practices and social policies designed to balk the phenomenon of prisoners who become homeless, actions developed with local institutions.

Abstract:
First results of the excavation of the medieval castle of Dos Hermanas (Montemayor, Cordoba)In the south of the kingdom of Córdoba, there is the castle so-called Dos Hermanas, located in the municipality of the current town of Montemayor. It has been considered that the construction of the castle of this stately town was the result of the first moments of decline of the fortress of Dos Hermanas, located on the bank of the Carchena stream. Currently, a first excavation campaign has been carried out that brings us closer to the anthropic occupation of the site. At the same time, the archival research gives new information to the history of the site, exceeding the date of 1340, when Don Martín Alonso de Córdoba partially destroyed the Arab fortress of Dos Hermanas to build the castle of Montemayor. The first data extracted from the field work support the written sources, providing us with new data that allow us to make a more complete and novel interpretation. The survival of part of the facilities of the Dos Hermanas castle with an occupation from Roman times to the sixteenth century that shows the total non-depopulation of the place in the fourteenth century, as previously thought. A high degree of conservation of the structures found inside the wall enclosure appears a southern bay with stables with nine mangers. To the west, there is a vain and an angled staircase that allowed access from the parade ground until the round pass over the main door, which is also preserved. The objective of this proposal will be to present these first results of the archaeological intervention centered on the southern wall of the castle. These research works are accompanied by a consolidation project of the main structures, all financed by the Provincial Delegation of Cordoba and Montemayor Town Hall, whose continuity is developed in 2019 and 2020.
