Abstract:
Camping tourism is one of the fastest growing segments of the tourism industry. Global trends in camping show that this type of recreational activity has begun to emerge in Asia. Meeting the expectations of potential and current tourists in a camping destination will lead to the accomplishment of competitive advantage. The endurance involvement and place attachment play important roles in understanding camping behaviors. However, limited research identified place attachment as a moderator of the influence of endurance involvement on camping travel behavior. To fill this gap, based on place attachment theory, our study developed a conceptual model that postulates endurance involvement and place attachment as predictors of camping tourism. 216 self-administered questionnaires were retuned. Confirmatory factor analysis was used to test the psychometric properties of the measures, while regression analysis was employed to assess the research hypotheses. The study results show that endurance involvement in camping affects camping travel behavior, whereas camping place dependence, camping place identity, and camping affective attachment moderate the effect of camping endurance involvement on camping travel behavior. Camping place attachment strengthens the relationship between camping endurance involvement and camping travel behavior. To maintain the sustainable development of camping tourism, campsite authorities should attach more importance to strengthening campers’ emotional bonds and concentrate on how to encourage them to participate in tourism activities. The findings have several theoretical and managerial implications for camping tourism marketing and the development of campground.

Full text
Abstract:
This paper reports sheep camping influences on soil chemical and physical properties, and pasture dry matter (DM) production of an acidic soil on the southwest slopes of New South Wales, Australia. The experiment was conducted in the spring (October-November) of 2005 on a long-term field experimental site after 13 yr of rotational grazing. The factors considered were sheep camping (distance from the camping site), pasture type (perennial vs. annual pastures) and lime application (limed vs. unlimed treatments). Over 13 yr of rotational grazing, significant amounts of carbon (C), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) were deposited near the sheep camping site via the deposition of animal excreta. Total C increased from 32.8 g kg-1 20 m away from the camping site to 41.9 g kg-1 at the camping site in 0-5 cm soil depth. The Colwell P increased from 44.0 to 125.9 mg kg-1 from the non-camping area to the camping site in 0-5 cm soil depth. The most interesting result from the current study is that soil bulk density decreased as the intensity of camping increased. On the perennial pastures, soil bulk density was 0.96 and 1.34 g cm-3 at the camping site in the 0-5 and 5-10 cm soil depths, respectively, whereas soil bulk density was 1.14 and 1.39 g cm-3 at 20 m away from the camping site at the corresponding soil depths. Across pasture types, mean pasture DM was highest at the camping site (7.3 and 6.6 t ha-1 for the limed and unlimed pastures, respectively), and lowest 20 m away from the camping site (5.4 and 4.5 t ha-1 for the limed and unlimed pastures, respectively). The vigorous pasture growth and high organic matter at the camping site may have had a "cushioning effect", thereby reducing soil compaction. However, this camping effect was confined to within 5 m of the camping site. It is concluded that sheep camping can create spatial heterogeneity in soil chemical and physical properties. The non-uniform influence on pasture productivity and composition could be minimised by altering the grazing management strategies, such as periodic relocation of the site of shelter, or further subdivision of the grazing paddock, if necessary. Key words: Soil carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, bulk density, grazing management

Full text
Abstract:
Although the effects of herbivore camping on soil physicochemical properties have been studied, whether the effects alter the soil microbial communities (e.g., composition, functions, taxonomic and functional diversities, network) remain unknown, especially below the surface. Here, using paired subsoil samples from half month-camping and non-camping, we showed for the first time that camping significantly changed the relative abundance of 21 bacterial phylotypes and five fungal phylotypes. Specifically, we observed significant increases in the relative abundance of putative chitinase and terpenes vanillin-decomposition genes, nitrite reduction function (nirB, nasA), decreases in the relative abundance of putative carbon fixation genes (ackA, PGK, and Pak), starch-decomposition gene (dexB), gene coding nitrogenase (anfG), and tetracycline resistance gene (tetB) for bacterial communities, and significant decreases in the relative abundance of animal endosymbiont and increases in the relative abundance of litter saprotroph and endophyte for fungal communities. However, camping did not significantly impact the taxonomic and functional diversity. The niche restriction was the main driving force of bacterial and fungal community assembly. Compared to no camping, camping increased the stability of bacterial networks but decreased the stability of fungal networks. Camping exerted a positive effect on the network by compressing the niche width and reduced the change in the network by reducing the niche overlap. Our results suggest that camping restructures the soil microbial composition, function, and network, and provides a novel insight into the effect of animal camping on soil microbial communities in grassland.

Abstract:
The article offers new selection principles of camping sites. Camping-parking for transit car-tourists and camping for tourists have different selection processes, preparation and organization of the site for them. It is important to take into account the maximum combination of attractions in the camping that is created. Geographical location of a site also assumes high level of security of car tourists in a camping. The authors consider requirements for the organization and following of fire safety instructions as the basic rules of security. Complying with the rules adopted for the European campgrounds is important in ensuring fire safety. They take into account a rational organization of the parking accommodation for vehicles (autocampers), tents or small houses, space for barbecue, administrative and other buildings. The authors develop a mathematical model of searching of rational placement camping for tourists, and make proposal for drawing up regulatory instruments that will reduce the threat of fire in camping. The economic efficiency of the proposed organizational and regulatory solutions is provided by reducing of costs and attractiveness increasing of these places of accommodation both for domestic and foreign car tourists.

Abstract:
Recently, Online sales related to outdoor activities increased due to an increase in demand for outdoor activities. Also, interest in camping increased to the extent that new words such as car camping (sleeping at a car while camping) and lone campers (people camping alone) appeared. However, research on the camping industry, especially auto camping, is insufficient, and institutional regulations are insufficient. Therefore, this study was intended to serve as a basis for research for revitalizing camping culture by analyzing the effects of auto-camping participation motivation and participation benefits on continued use intention mediated by switching intention and satisfaction. For the study, from February 14 to 27, 2020, a questionnaire was conducted targeting campers who had participated in auto camping at least once, and 15 out of 330 data collected were excluded. Regression analysis and mediating effect analysis were performed using SPSS 21.0. As a result of the analysis, most of the hypotheses were accepted, but the direct effects of familiality among participation motives on switching intention and facility benefits on satisfaction among participation benefits and switching intention and environmental benefits on satisfaction were rejected. The hypotheses on the mediating effect that the deviance of participation motive mediates switching intention and the mediating effect that the location benefit mediates the switching intention among the participation benefits were rejected. Although the research found the basic and practical influence factors of camping-related research and suggested the direction of marketing activities, it has limitations in securing generalization for a certain period of time and the campground.

Abstract:
Camping or what is commonly called camping is an activity that is carried out outside the room. This activity usually requires some equipment such as a carriel, tent, gas cylinder, stove, mattress, salamon jacket, and several other equipment. AM Camping is a shop that sells equipment camping. AM Camping has quite a lot of sales transaction activities. Sales transaction data can be used and processed into useful information to increase sales of equipment at AM Camping stores. The problem that often occurs in AM Camping stores is that the camping equipment needed by consumers does not exist or is out of stock because the owner does not pay attention to the camping equipment stock. To solve this problem, the authors use association datamining with a priori algorithm. Based on these results, it can be obtained that there are 8 rules that meet a minimum confidence of 50%, but because of the same itemset, only one rule is chosen so that the results of the itemset rules are 5 final rules, namely if you buy a 60 L Carrier, then 94% most likely buy a Gas Cylinder, if you buy a flat stove, you are 89% most likely to buy a gas cylinder, if you buy a frem rope, then you have an 84% chance of buying a gas cylinder, if you buy a cuff, you are 73% most likely to buy a gas cylinder and if you buy a gas cylinder you are 67% likely to buy a rope frem. With this research, it is hoped that it can provide information to AM Camping shop owners in providing stock of camping equipment needed by consumers and to find out the combination of itemset from consumer purchases

Young likens camping to a pilgrimage to nature but notes that, after more than a century of increasing popularity, the number of campers is declining. Although camping remains among the top five outdoor recreations in the United States, the rate of participation by Americans sixteen and older is down from its peak in the late 1990s. Automobile, trailer, and motorhome camping at developed locations and at primitive”locations has decreased approximately 7 percent overall. He argues this is due to modern camping, with its gadgets and more comfortable accommodations, not offering a meaningful break from everyday life, and also to efforts to rewild cities so that urban dwellers no longer need to escape to find nature.

This thesis is entitled "Gayo Camping Ground Marketing Communication Strategy for Efforts to Increase Tourism Visitors to Lake Laut Tawar" This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The problems examined in this thesis are about how the Gayo Camping Ground marketing communication strategy is in an effort to increase tourist visitors to Lake Laut Tawar and how are the communication barriers for the Gayo Camping Ground tour crew. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. This research was carried out at Pante Ujung Mepar and the Gayo Camping Ground Office for one month, from June to July. The results of this study indicate that Gayo Camping Ground in increasing visitors uses the marketing mix theory from Kotler and Keller which consists of product, price, place, promotion, and person, and shows the beginnings of Gayo Camping Ground tourism in Central Aceh which initiated by Satria Darmawan. Gayo Camping Ground's marketing strategy, according to the researcher's analysis, is very good because implementing promotions via Instagram and Tiktok is in fact very effective in increasing the number of new customers (visitors). In this study there were six informants as data sources. Communication barriers at Internal Gayo Camping Ground show ineffective delivery and response from leaders to crew accompanied by certain factors such as noise, lack of concentration and also poor delivery.

Abstract:
Child abuse is one of the growing problems with most institutions. There has been little research completed to ascertain the nature of the problem in camping. Preliminary results suggest that camps are a unique environment because the child is away from home and vulnerable. Special care is needed in this environment.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate individuals’ lived experience of camping, and to explore the effects of camping on relationships. Design/methodology/approach – The research adopted a descriptive phenomenological approach (Langdridge, 2007). Guided interviews were carried out with four participants, recalling their most memorable camping experience, with the aid of photographs to elicit memories. Analysis followed Colaizzi's (1978) seven-stage analysis and findings were discussed in relation to Duck's model of relationship dissolution (1981). Findings – Findings concern how camping is a great opportunity for couples, and friends, to re-connect with each other, reinforcing existing bonds and strengthening weakened ones. Other findings included enjoyment of the tranquillity and relaxation the natural environment provided, and for some the sense of adventure was encouraged, and the idea of “being away” from the usual surroundings was reported to be of relational benefit. Originality/value – The discovery of the benefit for camping on relationships is a unique and valuable contribution in this field because it has shown that camping can maintain, and evolve, relationships. As such, camping could be used as a bonding or relationship support intervention.

Abstract:
The camping industry has developed in a way, while most industries have declined since the epidemic broke. In this situation, outdoor companies need to apply marketing strategies to sell. The “Camping plus” model is one strategy that promotes customer satisfaction by adding additional value to the product. It can be explained as companies providing customers with various camping scenarios in their marketing. Against this background, the paper aims to search the effects of the “Camping plus” model for outdoor brands’ marketing with qualitative analysis. We invited 30 participants aged from 20 to 25 to have an interview to search the effects of the “Camping plus” model with ten questions. Nevertheless, our findings indicate that the “Camping plus” model is not always positive, so companies cannot apply this model optionally. Moreover, brands should comprehensively consider elements (i.e., the demographic of the customers, their understanding of the information the brands convey, and their attitudes to the model) to use the model effectively and efficiently.

Abstract:
Based on the camping sites in the Yellow River Basin published by Amap, this study examines the spatial distribution pattern of camping sites using various indices, including the average nearest neighbor index, geographical concentration index, disequilibrium index, and kernel density estimation. The research findings are as follows: (1) Camping sites exhibit a highly significant agglomeration distribution, and the spatial scale presents a non-equilibrium characteristic of “east dense west sparse”. The distribution density of camping sites shows clear hot and cold spots, forming a general pattern of “one belt, one mass, two points”. The locations of these camping sites commonly follow the rule of “backing mountains, along roads, and accompanied by scenery”. (2) The spatial distribution of camping sites is influenced by both natural factors, such as elevation and air quality, and social factors, such as highway mileage and the number of high-level scenic spots. The impact of social factors is found to be more substantial than that of natural environmental factors.

Abstract:
Although camping as a form of leisure tourism has grown increasingly popular since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, research on factors influencing campsite selection is still limited. This study aims to explore the relationship between perceived risk and campsite selection. We constructed a moderated mediation model and tested whether destination image acted as a mediator in this association, and whether tourists’ camping knowledge level moderated the indirect effect of destination image. Three hundred and twenty-five Chinese participants filled out questionnaires regarding perceived risk, campsite selection, destination image, and level of camping knowledge. The results revealed that perceived risk had a significant direct impact on destination image and campsite selection, and destination image mediated the relationship between perceived risk and campsites. Camping knowledge level moderated the indirect effect. Specifically, the influence of destination image on campsite choice was more significant for participants with a higher level of camping knowledge. These results explain the relationship between campers’ risk perception and campsite selection. This study has practical implications for individuals’ camping choices and the marketing strategies of related companies.

Abstract:
Sinar Adventure Store is a shop that provides camping equipment, this store has many customers who want to rent camping equipment such as tents, carril bags, stoves and sling bags. But the camping equipment rental transaction at this shop still uses the conventional process, so there are still many errors that occur in writing information and data reports on this camping equipment rental. This is the author's reference in designing a web-based camping equipment rental information system, with HTML, CSS, and PHP programming languages as the database. This system is designed using the waterfall method and the system follows the flow of the Time Charter Party method. In data processing, such as recording rental transaction data, it is still stored in a ledger storage media so that data security is not guaranteed because there is no more searching for camping equipment data at the Sinar Adventure Store who still has to wait a long time because they have to find one data person in the books. The purpose of creating this rental system is to overcome the problems that are currently happening at the Sinar Adventure Store store. The results of this study are to provide convenience in the processing of camping equipment data at the Sinar Adventure Store store such as admin data, data rental, ordering, checkout and to simplify the data search process in addition to having a more effective and larger storage media.

Abstract:
The expansion and proliferation of backcountry campsites is a persistent problem in many parks and protected areas. Shenandoah National Park (SNP) has one of the highest backcountry overnight use densities in the USA national parks system. SNP managers implemented a multi-option backcountry camping policy in 2000 that included camping containment with established campsites. These actions were intended to reduce the number of campsites and the area of camping disturbance at each site. This paper describes a longitudinal adaptive management assessment of the new campsite policies, applying quantitative measures of campsite conditions to evaluate the efficacy of management interventions. Physical campsite measurements combined with qualitative visitor interviews indicated SNP had successfully reduced the number of campsites and aggregate measures of camping-related disturbance in the Park, while minimizing the use of regulations, site facilities and staff resources. Implications for managers of other protected areas are that an established site camping policy can minimize camping disturbance, including the number and size of campsites, provided managers can sustain rehabilitation efforts to close and restore unneeded campsites. Experiential attributes, such as the potential for solitude, can also be manipulated through control over the selection of established campsites. Integrating resource and social science methods also provided a more holistic perspective on management policy assessments. Adaptive management research provided a timely evaluation of management success while facilitating effective modifications in response to unforeseen challenges. Conclusions regarding the effectiveness of a visitor impact containment strategy involving an established site camping option are offered.
