Abstract:
ABSTRACT SecB, a protein export-specific chaperone, enhances the export of a subset of proteins across cytoplasmic membranes of Escherichia coli. Previous studies showed that the synthesis of SecB is repressed by the presence of glucose in the medium. The derepression of SecB requires the products of both the cya andcrp genes, indicating that secB expression is under the control of catabolic repression. In this study, twosecB-specific promoters were identified. In addition, 5′ transcription initiation sites from these two promoters were determined by means of secB-lacZ fusions and primer extension. The distal P1 promoter appeared to be independent of carbon sources, whereas the proximal P2 promoter was shown to be subject to control by the cyclic AMP (cAMP) receptor protein (CRP)-cAMP complexes. Gel-mobility shift studies showed that this regulation results from direct interaction between the secB P2 promoter region and the CRP-cAMP complex. Moreover, the CRP binding site on thesecB gene was determined by DNase I footprinting and further substantiated by mutational analysis. The identifiedsecB CRP binding region is centered at the −61.5 region of the secB gene and differed from the putative binding sites predicted by computer analysis.

Abstract:
Yersinia pestis is one of the most dangerous pathogens. The cyclic AMP receptor protein (CRP) is required for the full virulence of Y. pestis, and it acts as a transcriptional regulator to control a large regulon, which includes several virulence-associated genes. The regulatory action of CRP is triggered only by binding to the small molecule cofactor cyclic AMP (cAMP). cAMP is synthesized from adenosine triphosphate by the adenylyl cyclase encoded by cyaA. In the present work, the regulation of crp and cyaA by CRP was investigated by primer extension, LacZ fusion, electrophoretic mobility shift assay, and DNase I footprinting. No transcriptional regulatory association between CRP and its own gene could be detected under the growth conditions tested. In contrast, CRP bound to a DNA site overlapping the core promoter −10 region of cyaA to repress the cyaA transcription. The determination of cellular cAMP levels further verified that CRP negatively controlled cAMP production. Repression of cAMP production by CRP through acting on the cAMP synthesase gene cyaA would represent a mechanism of negative automodulation of cellular CRP function.

ABSTRACT We have shown that the Escherichia coliphosphate-starvation-inducible psiE gene is regulated by both phosphate and the carbon source by using both lacZ and chloramphenicol acetyltransferase gene (cat) fusions. Yet, under all conditions tested, a single transcriptional start site lying 7 bp downstream of a predicted −10 region was revealed by primer extension analysis. DNase I footprinting showed that the PhoB transcriptional-activator protein protects two predictedpho boxes lying upstream of and near the −35 promoter region. Similar analysis showed that the cyclic AMP (cAMP)-cAMP receptor protein (cAMP-CRP) complex binds a region that overlaps with the downstream pho box. These results, together with measurements of the in vivo psiE promoter activity under various conditions, show that expression of the psiE gene is under direct positive and negative control by PhoB and cAMP-CRP, respectively.

Defisiensi kalsitriol dapat meningkatkan faktor risiko terjadinya penyakit kardiovaskular. Hal ini dikaitkan dengan penurunan fosforilasi troponin I (TnI) di Ser23/24. Fosforilasi TnI di Ser23/24 berperan dalam regulasi Mg-ATPase miofilamen dan sensitivitas miofilamen terhadap Ca2+ yang selanjutnya mempengaruhi respon frekuensi dan kekuatan ejeksi ventrikel. Ser23/24 TnI ini diketahui merupakan substrat spesifik PKA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari apakah efek kalsitriol terhadap peningkatan fosforilasi TnI mempunyai jalur mekanisme aksi yang juga melalui cAMP/PKA. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental murni menggunakan rancangan pre-post test with control group dengan sampel kultur primer kardiomiosit Sprague-Dawley jantan dewasa. Kardiomiosit diinkubasi kalsitriol selama 5 menit kemudian kadar cAMP diukur menggunakan metode ELISA. Hasil penelitian tidak menunjukkan adanya korelasi antara peningkatan TnI terfosforilasi dengan kadar cAMP (p>0,05). Penelitian ini masih belum dapat membuktikan adanya jalur aktivasi cAMP/PKA oleh kalsitriol dalam mekanisme peningkatan TnI terfosforilasi pada kardiomiosit.

Layanan pelanggan yang dilakukan melalui fitur chat atau telpon dengan calon pengunjung digunakan untuk menumbuhkan rasa nyaman dengan calon pengunjung sehingga calon pengunjung ini tertarik untuk berkunjung ke Highland Camp Curug Panjang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan Whatsapp Business dalam layanan pelanggan untuk meningkatkan minat pengunjung. Pendekatan penelitian ini kualitatif fenomenologi dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan data primer diperoleh dengan observasi pengamatan layanan pelanggan Whatsapp Business dan wawancara sedangkan data sekunder dari dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahawa penggunaan Whatsapp Business melalui layanan pelanggan memberikan dampak baik untuk meningkatkan minat pengunjung di Highland Camp Curug Panjang.

Abstract:
Expression of the surfactant protein A (SP-A) gene is lung specific, developmentally induced, and regulated by adenosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate (cAMP) and glucocorticoids. Humans have two highly similar genes encoding SP-A (SP-A1 and SP-A2). In the companion paper [S.M. McCormick, V. Boggaram, and C.R. Mendelson Am. J. Physiol. 266 (Lung Cell. Mol. Physiol. 10): L354-L366, 1994] we report that SP-A1 and SP-A2 RNA transcripts are alternatively spliced at their 5' ends, resulting in nine different primer-extended transcripts. In the present study, primer extension was used to assess the relative levels of expression of the SP-A1 and SP-A2 genes in human adult lung tissue and in fetal lung tissues maintained in organ culture in the absence or presence of dibutyryl (DB)cAMP (1 mM) and dexamethasone (Dex, 10(-4) M). Primer extension and Northern analysis were used to assess the effects of these agents on the levels of expression of these genes. In human adult lung tissue, 65% of the SP-A mRNA transcripts were derived from the SP-A2 gene, whereas only 35% were from SP-A1. On the other hand, in lung tissue from a 28-wk gestation neonate, only SP-A1 mRNA transcripts were detected, and, in midgestation fetal lung cultured in control medium, 65% of the SP-A mRNA was found to be SP-A1 and 35% was SP-A2.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)

Abstract:
Cette thèse interroge les motifs et dispositifs qui président à la préférence des acteurs pour la « guérison spirituelle » en Côte d'Ivoire. Dans cette perspective, une enquête ethnographique a été menée dans le camp de prière Jésus Chemin de la Vérité, situé à Gonzague ville au sud d'Abidjan. Pour de nombreux individus en quête de réponse à leur infortune, les camps de prière se présentent comme une alternative au système de santé conventionnel, comme le lieu où non seulement leur corps, mais également leur âme pourra être traitée. Afin d'investiguer les motifs qui sous-tendent la conversion religieuse au pentecôtisme, des entretiens ont été menés auprès des « fidèles-malades », des responsables religieux du camp ainsi que des visiteurs. Nous nous sommes également attelés à travers une observation participante à décrire les nombreuses activités rituelles du camp, l'ambiance qui y règne ainsi que les formes de sociabilité qui s'y développent. Il ressort de notre enquête que la « guérison spirituelle » peut être appréhendée comme un processus de transformation identitaire dont les manifestations se font ressentir dans toutes les sphères de la vie des fidèles, et en particulier dans la dimension intime du rapport à soi, à Dieu et à l'entourage (communauté, famille). Nous avons également mis en évidence l'importance des dispositifs rituels, et en particulier du rôle des affects et du corps dans ce processus transformatif. Le travail de l'espace du camp, sa matérialité, son environnement sensoriel et relationnel sont autant de dimensions des pratiques rituelles qui favori-sent un engagement émotionnel intense des fidèles et qui participent directement à la « (ré) invention de soi » (Kaufmann, 2004). Pour défendre cette perspective, nous avons procédé en deux étapes. Dans la première partie de cette thèse, nous restituons le mouvement pentecôtiste dans le marché religieux ivoirien d'offre de soin. Dans la seconde partie, nous décrivons et analysons en détail les nombreuses activités liturgiques proposées au sein du camp, ainsi que leurs potentiels prolongement en-dehors de celui-ci
This thesis questions the motives and devices that preside over the preference of actors for "spiritual healing" in Côte d'Ivoire. In this perspective, an ethnographic survey was conducted in the prayer camp Jesus Path of Truth, located in Gonzague city south of Abidjan. For many individuals in search of an answer to their misfortune, the prayer camps present themselves as an alternative to the conventional health care system, as the place where not only their body, but also their soul can be treated. In order to investigate the motives underlying the religious conversion to Pentecostalism, interviews were conducted with the "faithful-sick", religious leaders of the camp as well as visitors. We also set out through participant observation to describe the many ritual activities of the camp, the atmosphere that reigns there as well as the forms of sociability that develop there.Our survey shows that "spiritual healing" can be understood as a process of identity transformation whose manifestations are felt in all spheres of the lives of the faithful, and in particular in the intimate dimension of the relationship to oneself, to God. and the environment (community, family). We have also highlighted the importance of ritual devices, and in particular the role of affects and the body in this transformative process. The work of the space of the camp, its materiality, its sensory and relational environment are all dimensions of the ritual practices which favor an intense emotional commitment of the faithful and which participate directly in the "(re)invention of the self". (Kaufman, 2004). To defend this perspective, we proceeded in two stages. In the first part of this thesis, we situate the Pentecostal movement in the Ivorian religious care market. In the second part, we describe and analyze in detail the many liturgical activities offered within the camp, as well as their potential extension outside of it

La presse s’est toujours passionne��e pour les conflits au Proche-Orient. This dissertation analyzes events opposing Israelis and Palestinians in their conflict, in the eyes of the media. It provides a view that would not part the errors of the former from the mistakes of the latter, in a concept, which would set their conflict apart. The media, whether Israeli, Arab or international, creates two opposing legitimacies which shape the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Each camp claims the right to be right. In this race for information, when false information is issued, the evil done can never be undone. The press has always shown a passionate interest in the conflicts of the Middle-East. Since the signature of the Oslo agreement (1993), the press has demonstrated strong support for the effort to attain an Israeli-Palestinian peace. The failure of the Camp David Summit in July 2000 and the outbreak of the Intifada on September 29, 2000 promoted a new vision of “real-time” journalism, which favors shocking and spectacular images, very little verified. The press often acts imprudently in issuing false information

La presente investigación propone la existencia de una Querella de la novela, una pequeña «guerre littéraire» de por lo menos treinta años de duración (1670-1700) en la que Antiguos y Modernos disputaron acerca del sentido y el valor del género novelesco en el primer campo literario francés. Frente a la idea del auge de la novela a partir del surgimiento de una única obra inaugural, ya sea el Lazarillo, el Quijote, La princesse de Clèves o Robinson Crusoe, esta tesis sostiene, en primer lugar, que la invención teórica del género fue a la vez causa y resultado de diversas controversias, cuyo análisis se plantea en los términos de una querella, equiparable a la Querelle du théâtre, la des inscriptions, la du merveilleux o la du sublime, con las que mantiene diversos puntos de contacto. En segundo lugar, que hubo una profunda relación de participación entre esta querella y la contemporánea Querella en torno a los Antiguos y los Modernos, en la que la novela fue confrontada con el modelo clásico de la épica, así como con los paradigmas antiguos de la tragedia y de la historia. Y, por último, que en el proceso de emergencia de la novela, marcado ideológica y retóricamente por la Querella, el género no sólo fue aducido como emblema de lo nuevo, sino que, a pesar de su consabida modernidad, encontró su fundamentación teórica y la base para su legitimación en la autoridad y las razones de los Antiguos. Asimismo, el estudio del discurso novelesco francés del siglo XVII revela que, desde las primeras poéticas barrocas hasta las teorizaciones de la nouvelle o nouvelle historique, la novela tendió a definirse primordialmente como una forma de escritura de la historia.
This thesis proposes the existence of a Quarrel of the novel, a “guerre littéraire” lasting at least thirty years (1670-1700) in which the Ancients and Moderns clashed over the meaning and value of the novelistic genre in early modern France. Against the notion of the rise of the novel from the emergence of a single founding work, whether Lazarillo, Don Quijote, La princesse de Clèves or Robinson Crusoe, I contend, firstly, that the theoretical invention of the genre was at once the cause and result of various controversies, which are analysed in terms of a a quarrel, comparable to the Querelle du théâtre, des inscriptions, du merveilleux or du sublime, with which it shares a number of features. Secondly, I argue that there was a fundamental interplay between this dispute and the concurrent Quarrel of the Ancients and Moderns, in which the novel was set in opposition to the classical model of the epic and the ancient paradigms of tragedy and history. Finally, I show that in the emergence of the novel, informed ideologically and rhetorically by the Quarrel, the genre was not only considered emblematic of the the new but also, and despite its overt modernity, discovered its legitimacy and theoretical roots in the authority and reasons of the Ancients. Examination of the French novelistic discourse of the seventeenth century also reveals that, from the earliest baroque poetics to the theoretical treatises on the nouvelle or nouvelle historique, the novel was defined fundamentally as a form of historical writing.

Abstract:
Cap-snatching by the influenza A virus (IAV) RNA-dependant RNA polymerase (RdRp) is driven by the abundance of transcripts being actively transcribed by host RNA polymerase II (Pol II)[1]–[3]. Deviations from a direct correlation with abundance do arise, due to selective cleavage of transcripts with a compatible length (10 to 13 nucleotides) and nucleotide sequence (ending in 3’AG)[4]–[7]. Some cap-snatched primers are not directly used to transcribe mRNA, but instead undergo a prime-and-realign mechanism (PAR). As of yet it is unknown why this process occurs. My hypothesis is that the prime-and-realign process is related to the physical characteristics of the primers and their interactions with RdRp and the vRNA template. Here, I used four published deep sequencing datasets of the 5’ ends of IAV mRNA obtained from IAV infected A549 cells to examine PAR[1], [7]–[9]. Primers are biased towards PAR on the basis of length (<12 nucleotides) and RNA duplex stability (mediated by the base directed at 3’U1 and the pyrimidine-purine base pair at position four). PAR typically adds a GCA addition resulting in a primer three nucleotides longer ending in a compatible nucleotide sequence with 3’U1. Prime-and-realign converts poor primers on the basis of length and sequence compatibility with the 3’ end of the vRNA into one that can efficiently undergo transcription of the critical conserved sequence without errors, or failure. Prime-and-realign, therefore, affords tremendous flexibility to RdRp in cap snatched primer length and sequence compatibility.

Studying insider trading is difficult due to its sensitive and delicate nature. Therefore it is hard to gauge the extent of such activities. This problem has resulted in a fierce debate whether it should be prohibited or not. Using a method where the effect on monopolistic information usage can be isolated insider trading can be monitored. Such an event is a profit warning.

making a profit warning between year 2003 and 2007 on the Stockholm

Stock Exchange. Furthermore the aim with the study is to contribute

to the debate on the insider trading legislation.

Method:

The study’s purpose is achieved through an event study studying the

cumulative abnormal return as well as average daily returns during

the thirty days preceding the warning for a sample of thirty companies.

Since profit warnings should be completely random and as such

almost impossible for the market to know in advance, a significant

abnormal return can only be explained with insider trading. The abnormal returns were calculated using the Capital Asset Pricing Model

since it is the most widely used model.

Conclusion:

For the chosen time frame, when testing on a 95% significance level,

the study found a significant abnormal return during the last 10 days

of the event window but not for the entire period of thirty days. The

daily average return for the thirty companies were significant for six

of the thirty days within the event window. Two of them were included

in the last ten day period with a confirmed significant abnormal

return which might suggest that on average insider trading tend

to occur during these days. The other four was discarded due to

sample issues. Since the study was limited to a period of four years

extending the results to a period other than tested should be made

with great care since conditions may differ over time. Concerning the

current debate on the insider legislation, the findings can be used by

both sides. Either to argue for a strengthening of the law or to question its existence.

In 1991, the Federal Communications Commission began regulating the tariffed rates of the nation's largest local exchange carriers under a new regulatory scheme: price-cap regulation. Price caps were intended to "remedy" the ills of traditional rate-of-return regulation. They were to provide incentive for the telephone companies to adopt innovative technology, cost-cutting measures and provide telephone services more efficiently. To test the effectiveness of this incentive, this study examined productivity of the regional Bell operating companies (RBOCs) under both rate-of-return regulation and price-cap regulation. A total factor productivity model was developed and productivity gains were calculated under both regulatory regimes. The assumption of total factor productivity was then relaxed and value-added productivity and labor productivity measures were also examined. The point estimates of productivity gains indicate that price caps have led to greater productivity gains. Although productivity gains varied greatly across individual RBOCs, use of total RBOC data indicated that average productivity gains improved 1.3 percent under price caps using the TFP model. Similar improvements under price caps were estimated using the value-added (1.1 percent) and labor productivity measurements (1.3 percent). However, because of the variability of the annual estimates, none of the productivity improvements are statistically significant. In conclusion, calculations of RBOC productivity gains suggest that price caps have led to more efficient use of inputs--labor; materials, rents and services; and capital--in the production of telephone company output. Yet, the statistical evidence is not strong enough to unequivocally support the assertion that price cap regulation has led to great productivity gains.

Le Cap Vert a mis en œuvre, pendant les années 90, une réforme visant à restructurer le système éducatif, dont le principal résultat a été la massification de l'enseignement de base et secondaire. La question est de comprendre en quoi la réforme a apporté des innovations dans la gestion de l'éducation. L'analyse des processus de décision sous-jacents au système de gestion au Ministère de l'Education révèle une "centralisation imparfaite", alors que le renforcement de la participation dans l'éducation est un des objectifs important de la réforme. Si dans le contexte d'extrême vulnérabilité du Cap Vert la centralisation semblait inévitable pour mettre en oeuvre les objectifs de la réforme, les dysfonctionnements, les pressions nationales et internationales ainsi que les défis de la modernisation de la gestion, appellent une alternative : la décentralisation. Les voies en sont la municipalisation de l'Education et le renforcement de l'autonomie de l'école.

“This book offers an account of the life of Shibusawa Eiichi, who may be considered the first ‘internationalist’ in modern Japan, written by his great grandson Masahide and published in 1970 under the title, Taiheiyo ni kakeru hashi (Building Bridges Over the Pacific). Japan had a tortuous relationship with internationalism between 1840, when Shibusawa was born, and 1931, the year the nation invaded Manchuria and when he passed away. The key to understanding Shibusawa’s thoughts against the background of this history, the author shows, lies in the concept of ‘people’s diplomacy,’ namely an approach to international relations through non-governmental connections. Such connections entail more transnational than international relations. In that sense, Shibusawa was more a transnationalist than an internationalist thinker. Internationalism presupposes the prior existence of sovereign states among which they cooperate to establish a peaceful order. The best examples are the League of Nations and the United Nations. Transnationalism, in contrast, goes beyond the framework of sovereign nations and promotes connections among individuals and non-governmental organizations. It could be called “globalism” in the sense that transnationalism aims at building bridges across the globe apart from independent nation-states. In that sense Shibusawa was a pioneering globalist. It was only in the 1990s that expressions like globalism and globalization came to be widely used. In Japanese history the establishment of the ie, or family system, on which patriarchal authority was based, represents one of the most important turning points. The ie that came into being from the late eleventh century onwards, differs from the uji that had characterised previous eras, not so much on account of its patriarchal system but because it would place the married couple in prime position. The family, previously made up of a man engaging in occasional relationships with a number of women, would gradually become a more stable nucleus comprising of a husband with a wife who enjoyed a legally recognised position of privilege compared with all the other concubines. After her husband’s death, she would naturally become a sort of substitute figure, often gaining considerable authority and prestige. With the threat of the Mongolian invasions (from 1274 and 1281) and the consequent increase in limitations on women’s inheritance rights, many widows were forced to take vows as a sign of loyalty and tangible proof of their choice not to remarry if they were to secure their husband’s property. The literary production of Nun Abutsu (1225 ca.-1283 ca.) written in a period which led to the inevitable breakdown of the economic, social, and political balance of Japan, offers a realistic description of women’s ambitions, duties and concerns in an era of great transformation. In a close reading of her major works Abutsu no fumi (The letter of Abutsu, 1264 ca.), Utatane (Fitful slumbers, XIII century) and Izayoi nikki (The Diary of the sixteenth night moon, 1280 ca.), the book casts light on some important issues in Japanese women’s history: the gradual shift from uxorical to virilocal marriage, the consequences of this process for inheritance patterns, the meaning of women’s participation in the intellectual life of their time.

El camu camu (Myrciaria dubia HBK Mc Vaugh - Myrtaceae), es un frutal nativo de origen amazónico, su importancia radica en su alto contenido de ácido ascórbico natural que oscila entre 800 a 6100 mg/100g de pulpa (Yuyama, 2011). Frutal que viene tomando importancia en la Región Ucayali, en la medida en que el fruto va adquiriendo relevancia en los mercados nacionales e internacionales. El Perú cuenta con aproximadamente 4069 hectáreas de superficie cosechada, por lo que se ha convertido en el primer centro productor de camu camu con una producción de 14043,38 toneladas métricas (TM) de fruto/año (MINAGRI, 2020). En Ucayali, se encuentran plantadas 2313,30 hectáreas de camu camu entre los distritos de Manantay, Callería, Masisea y Yarinacocha. De estas, 1068 hectáreas son de superficie cosechada, con una producción de 1923 toneladas métricas (TM) de fruto/año, rendimiento promedio de 1,8 tn/ha y precio en chacra de S/. 2.27/kg (MINAGRI, 2020).

AbstractIn 2018 and 2019, students from NYU Abu Dhabi spent a week participating, observing, and learning in a refugee camp in Djibouti as a part of an intensive January term course on Displacement and Migration across the Red Sea. This chapter discusses the contours of this student-and-refugee engagement and its relation to the author’s prior ethnographic research and collaborative photography projects in the camp. Revisiting how the university students and their refugee hosts experienced these events, and addressing questions of ethics, value, and privilege, the chapter unsettles common assumptions about who was teaching and helping whom. As flawed and uneven as these educational journeys can be, the chapter argues that what is to be gained from these encounters are not just “small things.”

The author describes Camp Bastion and its fifty-bed field hospital. Prior to its handover in late 2014, Camp Bastion covered eight square miles of desert in southwestern Afghanistan and served as the coalition's logistical hub in Helmand. Some 600 aircraft flew in and out of the camp every day. The hospital featured an ordinary and intensive care ward, a six-bed resuscitation bay (or emergency department), a four-theater (or bed) operating room, GP and dentist practices, and a pharmacy. Each day in the hospital began and ended with a meeting of department chiefs and included many of the surgeons. It was here that patients were discussed on an individual basis and life-or-death decisions made. The author discusses the hospital facilities, services, and amenities as well as day-to-day activities.

Yitzhak Rabin's assassination triggered a burst of enthusiasm for his project. In the months that followed, his supporters continued the struggle. It was a good opportunity for the dovish left to capitalize on the widespread emotion and so to consolidate its base and marshal support for the peace process. It was able to count on the support of Shimon Peres, who had meanwhile been named interim prime minister. He was committed to abiding by the commitments of his predecessor and was also very popular. The context could not have been more favorable to Israeli pacifists. Yet the opportunity was missed. Rabin's assassination did not benefit his supporters. The image of the peace camp continued to deteriorate and increasingly seemed to go against the grain of the dominant public mood in Israel. This chapter explains this inability to capitalize on the “Rabin effect".

Weakly supervised semantic segmentation (WSSS) with image-level annotations has achieved great processes through class activation map (CAM). Since vanilla CAMs are hardly served as guidance to bridge the gap between full and weak supervision, recent studies explore semantic representations to make CAM fit for WSSS and demonstrate encouraging results. However, they generally exploit single-level semantics, which may hamper the model to learn a comprehensive semantic structure. Motivated by the prior that each image has multiple levels of semantics, we propose hierarchical semantic contrast (HSC) to ameliorate the above problem. It conducts semantic contrast from coarse-grained to fine-grained perspective, including ROI level, class level, and pixel level, making the model learn a better object pattern understanding. To further improve CAM quality, building upon HSC, we explore consistency regularization of cross supervision and develop momentum prototype learning to utilize abundant semantics across different images. Extensive studies manifest that our plug-and-play learning paradigm, HSC, can significantly boost CAM quality on both non-saliency-guided and saliency-guided baselines, and establish new state-of-the-art WSSS performance on PASCAL VOC 2012 dataset. Abstract:
O discurso contemporâneo trata de uma “morte da história da arte” em função tanto da falência da noção de história como narrativa legitimadora como do aparecimento de um outro complexo de práticas artísticas. A arte, criticando sua institucionalização, buscou escapar aos rótulos, à especificidade dos meios; estende-se em um campo ampliado. O importante trabalho de Rosalind Krauss deu-nos a chave para que possamos, hoje, ampliar sua compreensão e caracterizá-lo como imagem da multiplicidade. O experimentalismo e a externalidade são conceitos-chave para os trabalhos que se encontram em um entrelugar; também o são para pensar o discurso da história? Haverá um entrelugar crítico, em que uma disciplina transversalmente critica às demais, diferentes modos de ver se encontram? Trata-se não só da contaminação entre as disciplinas artísticas, quando o artista assume um perfil multidisciplinar, mas também de uma renúncia ao papel central processo de criação; dá-se uma “colagem de agentes” entre o público, o sítio, as ficções, as narrativas. O paradigma da colagem também está presente quando constatamos realidades temporais distintas tornarem-se próximas através do trabalho artístico. Os artistas liberam-se do peso da história: não há estilo contemporâneo, não há um critério a priori sobre a aparência que a arte deve ter; há, sim, uma apropriação de imagens. E o historiador? Cola os tempos, desloca-se, dá voz a interlocutores de outras disciplinas em seu discurso, busca multiplicar também o seu olhar tornando-se interdisciplinar? É consciente de que produz uma interpretação, um comentário que pode ampliar a própria obra? Assim faz história, crítica ou poética? Hoje as noções de artista, de arte, e de história encontram-se multiplicadas, seus limites são tencionados. O que resta? Tudo. Primordialmente, o nosso esforço em buscar os fios para tecer as conexões que possam sempre tornar vivo o exercício do pensamento, sob qualquer rótulo ou mesmo nenhum.

Abstract:
This working paper discusses the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) pilot program carried out by the Haitian Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) conducted in collaboration with the IDB. The OLPC pre-pilot project was implemented at the Ecole Nationale Republique du Chili (ENRC), an all-female public school located in Port-au-Prince. Because the school year had ended before the OLPC pre-pilot began, the project was conducted as a summer camp entitled "XO Camp," held on June 30th-July 18th, 2008. The camp enrolled 116 student participants and the XO laptop, an educational tool designed by One Laptop Per Child (OLPC), a nonprofit organization headquartered at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was selected as the educational device for the initial implementation. Although the original intention was to create a context of one-to-one computing, the XO Camp operated primarily with one-to-two computing owing to an unexpected shortage of XO laptops.

Debido a la preocupación creciente por la morbimortalidad asociada con los envenenamientos por mordedura de serpiente, la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) declaró esta como enfermedad tropical desatendida prioritaria en 2017 y 2018 y proclamó el 19 de septiembre como el día internacional del cuidado por mordeduras de serpiente, con el objetivo de llamar la atención a todas las naciones sobre este problema. Como respuesta a esta necesidad, y con el propósito de promover la difusión y aplicación del conocimiento científico para la prevención y atención de los accidentes por mordedura de serpiente a través de la interacción entre la sociedad, los profesionales de la salud, las ciencias biológicas, agropecuarias y todas las profesiones y actividades relacionadas con los accidentes por animales venenosos, la Universidad Militar Nueva Granada y su Grupo de Investigaciones Sobre Agentes Radiológicos, Biológicos y Químicos, de la Facultad de Medicina, llevó a cabo el Congreso internacional sobre mordeduras de serpientes en Latinoamérica, evento que reunió a expertos del continente que abordaron diversos aspectos relacionados con la prevención, atención prehospitalaria, diagnóstico y tratamiento de los accidentes y envenenamientos por mordedura de serpientes en la región. En este encuentro, los participantes se informaron sobre las mordeduras de serpientes desde los contextos, biológico, químico, epidemiológico y asistencial, gracias a la visión de referentes nacionales e internacionales con amplia trayectoria en el campo de la toxicología.

Abstract:
The most prominent measure to moderate the escalation of electricity prices during 2022 has been the gas cap implemented exceptionally in Spain and Portugal. We present here the most accurate, rigorous and updated estimate of the effects of this measure on the regulated electricity tariff, known as the "Precio de Venta del Pequeño Consumidor (PVPC), which directly replicates the wholesale market price. To do so, we update the data we presented in September until the end of December 2022, comparing the real evolution of this tariff with a statistical model that draws the same line but in an alternative world in which the gas cap is not applied. After six months, the electricity bill at the regulated tariff in Spain is 32% cheaper than it would be in a world without the Iberian exceptionality: according to our estimate, the resulting saving for the whole of 2022 was around €209 per consumer. Moreover, inflation in 2022 would have been 0.3 points higher without a gas cap: 8.7%, instead of the 8.4% observed. In other words: half of Spain's better situation compared to the Eurozone can be attributed to this measure. On the negative side, the higher consumption of gas for electricity generation continues and the lower price of Spanish electricity, which would have facilitated the increase in exports to France with the consequent risk of subsidization in favor of French consumers at the expense of Spanish consumers.

Abstract:
Introducción: las leishmaniasis son zoonosis que afectan la piel, las mucosas y las vísceras, causadas por un protozoario flagelado del género Leishmania, introducido al cuerpo por la picadura de un insecto flebotomíneo del género Lutzomyia. El 96 % de los casos en esta región, se encuentran en Brasil, Argentina y Colombia (valle del Magdalena y en la zona caribe) (1). Las especies incriminadas como vectores de leishmaniasis visceral son: L. longipalpis, y L. Evansi, y el principal reservorio domestico es el perro. Los objetivos fueron caracterizar el caso e identificar los factores de riesgo involucrados en la transmisión y describir las intervenciones realizadas por la entidad territorial del nivel municipal y departamental. Materiales y métodos: se realizó estudio de brote con investigación epidemiológica de campo (IEC) en el municipio de Hatonuevo-Guajira, barrio Los Mayalitos II, comunidad Guaimarito, y Guamachito. Se aplicaron herramientas de vigilancia activa, encuestas de conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas, estudio de foco, intervenciones, muestreo canino y de menores sintomáticos. Los datos fueron registrados y procesados en Microsoft Excel 2016®. Se realizó análisis descriptivo con las características del caso, abordaje e intervenciones. Los resultados se presentaron en tablas de frecuencias. Resultados: se establece como un brote de leishmaniasis visceral, caso confirmado por laboratorio, autóctono por las condiciones para la presencia del vector y reservorio positivo: niño de 14 meses, indígena, cuadro clínico de fiebre, trombocitopenia y anemia, confirmado por inmunofluorescencia indirecta (IFI) para leishmaniasis visceral, en el estudio de foco se identificó el vector y reservorio doméstico (canino) positivo en casco urbano. En la búsqueda activa comunitaria no se identificaron niños menores de cinco años con sintomatología compatible con leishmaniasis visceral. Conclusión: se establece un brote de leishmaniasis visceral con un caso confirmado por laboratorio, autóctono por las condiciones para la presencia del vector y reservorio positivo en el municipio de Hatonuevo, La Guajira en el 2018.

Saudi Arabia has announced plans to cut greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 278 million tons of CO2 equivalent (CO2e). In this regard, this paper contributes a modeling view of the climate-related effects of various energy policies on the Saudi energy system. The baseline entails the continued progression of current domestic policies without energy price reform. We examine two main alternative scenarios: The announced policies scenario (APS) incorporates some of the plans that the Saudi government has announced. In the other scenario, we run the baseline scenario with a cap on total CO2 emissions equal to those displayed in the announced policies.

Eligibility criteria: Studies included in the analysis came from original research articles that had to meet the following criteria: (1) peer-reviewed articles; (2) publication in English; (3) articles published in scientific journals belonging to the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI); (4) indexed in the Journal of Citation Report (JCR), or SCImago Journal Rank (SJR); (5) published in the period 2012-2022.As exclusion criteria, (1) studies were considered that, despite being within the publication period, analyzed seasons prior to the entry into force of the UEFA FFP. (2) studies whose object was not the analysis of the financial situation.
