Abstract:
CAD/CAM technology (Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing) in the matter of fact helps in design and development of two-dimensional or three-dimensional models and their realization on numerical controlled machines. The key to direct or indirect CAD/CAM dental restorations is the measurement of dental preparation in the mouth or on the plaster die. The aim of this paper is to describe the possibilities and the way of function of different computer aided inspection (CAI) systems as a first part of CAD/CAM systems. Different researchers have presented several approaches of methods for three dimensional (3D) measurement. Today, for chairside dental treatment, only the optical method of measurement has lead to satisfactory results in practice. Laboratory CAD/CAM systems use mechanical and optical technologies for 3D measurement. Optical impression grows as a leader of CAI segment of almost every new CAD/CAM system. The most important properties of 3D scanners are: accuracy, volume and speed of measurement and ergonomy of instrument. .

This thesis will address the design and production of the ATC Kolín comapny's logo. Thesis will be supported by the use of CAD/CAM programs. The choice of materials, components and tools will also be specified. Milling strategy will be designed with the PowerMill program. Two different methods of production will be compared. First one is the conventional machining on the FV 25 CNC vertical knee milling plant with the Heidenhain iTNC 530 controlling system. Where as the second one is the additive rapid prototypong technology with the usage of Fused Deposition Modeling method. The thesis is finished by the technical-economic evaluation with analysis and comparison of production alternatives.

Over the last decade improvements in design technology has taken grand steps in changing the way we build the structures of tomorrow. Conventional drafting software like AutoCAD and Microstation are being challenged by tools that go beyond the two dimensional representational abilities of paper documentation and replacing it with complex three dimensional virtual construction files that are more comprehensible and offer more flexibility with respect to design and also in terms of inter-professional communication. My interest's lie in the new dialectic emerging between architects and fabricators, who ironically sit at opposite ends of the construction spectrum yet are now collaborating with the help of modern-day software. I envision these new tools as being pivotal in both reassigning the roles of design and creating a more seamless construction process. It is this modified construction process that I intend to explore through this thesis.

The project developed under the engineering studies, solves the problem of production of a prototype car using modern technology, reverse engineering and CAD / CAM. Based on the literary study of the issue, was designed process of digitization of the physical model of car, including the treatment and processing of data. Follow-up step was to verify the production of the additive rapid prototyping technology - FDM method. Verification of the results was performed on a vertical milling cantilever FV 25 CNC with control system Heidenhain iTNC 530 using a cutting strategies by PowerMILL CAM software. At the end of the resulting models edit as necessary.

This master's thesis deals with design and manufacture of a prototype of pitman front right wheel of student's formula Dragon 4 of a team TU Brno Racing with use of advanced CAD/CAM technology. Opening part of the thesis deals with the theoretical analysis of milling technology. Furthermore, there is an analysis of aluminum alloys, which aims to integrate the material being machined CERTAL. In the practical part of the work the construction of pitman is done using CAD software SolidWorks 2012 and proposal of milling strategies is done using software PowerMILL CAM 10. The following is the realization of manufacture in CNC machining center MCV 754 QUICK at Bosch Diesel Ltd, in Jihlava. Techno-economic evaluation of the manufacture is done in conclusion.

We are living a continuous and fast technology evolution, maybe this evolution goes faster than our capacity to assimilate what we can do with it, but the potential is clear and the future will be for those who identifies the right technology with the right application. In the information era, we are literally swimming in an ocean of structured and not structured data and thanks to the evolution in the Telecommunications technologies, all that information can be used from everywhere. However, information means nothing without the capability to analyze, extract conclusions and learn from it, which is way the technologies like treatment of Big Data and the Artificial Intelligence are crucial. Imagine how these technologies shall allow engaging the design of a part or any concept by applying rules, which will facilitate the design significantly, how the integration of the validation of the structural models by the Classification Societies will be linked directly by cloud applications. Imagine all the benefits of this two simple examples that can be implemented thanks to the potential of these technologies. The way we work with shipbuilding CAD tools is also changing thanks to the ubiquitous access to the information and the different hardware available to explode that information: AR, VR, MR, Smartphones, tablets, etc. Nevertheless, not only the way we work, but also the way we interact with shipbuilding CAD tools is changing, with technologies like natural language processes that allows having a direct conversation with the applications. The concepts that are absolutely clear from now to the future in shipbuilding is the use of Data Centric model and the concept of Digital Twin, a real and effective synchronization between what we design, what we construct, by covering the complete life cycle of the product thanks to technologies like IoT and RFID. This paper tries to explain the importance to understand how the new generations of naval architects and marine engineers are immersed in a technological world in constant and rapid evolution. The way they interacts with this ecosystem will determine the way we should define the new rules of the shipbuilding CAD systems.

Abstract:
Technological innovations in sanitation are poised to address the great need for sanitation improvements in low-income countries. Worldwide, more than 2.4 billion people lack access to improved sanitation facilities. Innovative waste treatment and sanitation technologies aim to incorporate user-centered findings into technology engineering and design. Without a focus on users, even the most innovative technology solutions can encounter significant barriers to adoption. Drawing on a household survey conducted in urban slum communities of Ahmedabad, India, this research brief identifies toilet and sanitation preferences, amenities, and attributes that might promote adoption of improved sanitation technologies among potential user populations. This work uses supplemental insights gained from focus groups and findings from the literature. Based on our research, we offer specific guidance for engineering and design of sanitation products and technologies.
