A reconstrução de defeitos ósseos críticos é alvo de inúmeras pesquisas em cirurgia bucomaxilofacial. Materiais a base de hidroxiapatita sintética e tendão bovino mineralizado foram preparados para servirem de arcabouço para regeneração óssea.
