Moustaki, Argyro. Paris 8, 1995. http://www.theses.fr/1995PA081099.
Full textThis study presents "frozen" expressions related to the support verb to be in modern greek. Our approach is based on z. S. Harris'transformational grammar whose methodological frame has been worked out in french by m. Gross. We have mainly studied prepositional structures, but also structures in which the predicate noun is in the genitive or dative case. After having described the global structures and lexical composition of those expressions, we classify them according to their syntactical structure. A description of the distributional and transformational properties of the 2200 collected idioms is given in the 9 binary matrices (tables) that we have worked out. The variables and the operators entailed in the structures are also represented : it thus constitutes the lexicon-grammar of those expressions whoses entries are not words, but whole sentences. Our study is morphological as far as it describes the morphological behaviour of parts of speech ; the study is also syntactical as those morphological relations are treated syntactically

Full textThe elegy was fashionable at the dawn of modernity, during the periods which are known as Pre-Romanticism and Romanticism. But this infatuation with elegy was not without raising deep questioning on its generic dimension. Indeed since the French had appropriated the genre, the elegy can no longer be just defined by a formal criterion which has become disputable. Furthermore, as early as the classical period, two dangers have been subverting the genre: its wide range of themes which is an obstacle to our grasping its quintessence and an evolution at a standstill condemning it to stereotyped perceptions. And from this came the worry to amend the confusion existing around the elegy as well as the urge to revivify its expressive power around the more flexible notion of "elegiac". The modernity of the elegy relies on this problematic heritage and requires a study in historical perspective: the vitality of the elegy at the beginning of the XIXth century allowed itself to provide a new interpretation of its genre that promoted the elegiac as a decisive criterion. Millevoye’s works enables us to date this turning point which paved the way to the romantic elegy linked to the rising notion of "lyricism" and glorified by Lamartine under the auspices of meditation. But while revivifying the elegy on elegiac expressiveness, romantic modernity compelled with the subject having to respond to historical vagaries that were eventually unsettling. Hence a shifting away from elegiac writing during the second half of the XIXth century into intimist withdrawal, parodic splitting or polyphony, all of them being various utterances of a questioning of the elegiac complaint’s subjective source. When the elegy as such resurfaced the literary scene owing to the trauma of the Second World War, it featured a shifting genre to crystallize the doubts, mournings and smiles of a lyricism as uncertain of its own song as the very existence of a subject that haunted its lines more than he inhabited them
Roynard, Michaël. "Generic programming in modern C++ for Image Processing." Electronic Thesis or Diss., Sorbonne université, 2022. https://theses.hal.science/tel-03922670.
Full textC++ is a multi-paradigm language that enables the initiated programmer to set up efficient image processing algorithms. This language strength comes from several aspects. C++ is high-level, which enables developing powerful abstractions and mixing different programming styles to ease the development. At the same time, C++ is low-level and can fully take advantage of the hardware to deliver the best performance. It is also very portable and highly compatible which allows algorithms to be called from high-level, fast-prototyping languages such as Python or Matlab. One of the most fundamental aspects where C++ really shines is generic programming. Generic programming makes it possible to develop and reuse bricks of software on objects (images) of different natures (types) without performance loss. Nevertheless, conciliating the aspects of genericity, efficiency, and simplicity is not trivial. Modern C++ (post-2011) has brought new features that made the language simpler and more powerful. In this thesis, we first explore one particular C++20aspect: the concepts, in order to build a concrete taxonomy of image related types and algorithms. Second, we explore another addition to C++20, ranges (and views), and we apply this design to image processing algorithms and image types in order to solve issues such as how hard it is to customize/tweak image processing algorithms. Finally, we explore possibilities regarding how we can offer a bridge between static (compile-time) generic C++ code and dynamic (runtime) Python code. We offer our own hybrid solution and benchmark its performance as well as discuss what can be done in the future with JIT technologies. Considering those three axes, we will address the issue regarding the way to conciliate generic programming, efficiency and ease of use

Full textWe are dealing here with a research on argentina's social history envisaged under an interdisciplinary aspect, centered around the history, the economy, the sociology, and the political science. The central question of this research is "peronism", a specific aspect of orgentina's history. Using, in a very flexible way the theoriticalustensils of critical marxism, this study tries to report the contradictions of peronist nationalism and the reasous of it's impact on argentina's working class for half a century. The analyses of the economical structure, of the dynamic of social struggles and of the modern political history of the country permit to center the specific aspects of the "argentina paradigme" and this within the dependant capitalism in latin america. The qoal of this study is to demonstrate that there is no historical fatality and that the crisis and degrading of the argentina society are the result of a social and political "choice". This research is based upon an abondant bibliography as well as on a personal experience which underwent thirty years of social and political history in argentina

Full textPostmodernism -in order to prove that modern demands are self - delusions- is obliged to resort to the use and selective projection of moral criteria. However, according to its declarations, postmodernism rejects moral criteria and does not include them in this ideological and conceptional armament of its arguments. The assertion that modernity is incircled in the idea of progress reveals essensialist core of post-modernism. Because, only the one who knows the concept of authenticity, that is, who knows the meaning of real change and have formed the image of a world able to include an authentic existence reconceled to its essence, can characterize a change as self-delusion

Full text"Le Devisement du monde" ("The description of the world") is the title of the book by Marco Polo. This term here covers a socio-anthropological method which combines the notion of "figuration" (Elias) and that of discourse (Foucault). This method is based on an analytical structure ("negotiation" – "platform" – "discourse"), which thus completes the tool bequeathed to us by Norbert Elias, by specifying how a figuration is set up or broken down, by a series of divisions. Allowing us to analyse certain measures of governmentality (Foucault), this approach also answers the problem of permanence and change, recurrent in philosophy. This forms the first part. Applying this tool, the second part reviews the history of modern man up to the recompositions which he applies ceaselessly to himself

Full textWe study the ways argentinian generation of 1837 thought politics for institute modern political order in Rio de la Plata between 1830- 1853 in Buenos Aires at the origins of “intellectual movement” as well as in Montevideo place of insurrectional exile where they intended to build a political opposition to rosism. We reconstruct the fundamental problems of a conceptual and generational sociability with Echeverria’s and Alberdi’s works but without forgetting the contributions of Juan Maria Gutiérrez, Miguel Cané father and the so called “spectators” of Generation of 37 Domingo F. Sarmiento and José Mármol. We underline four themes that estructurate the generational political discourse: the historical and collective conscience; the importance of writing as a way of creating a modern public space; the capacity paradigm of politics as a structure that orders their political language and the Representation as a rational and dynamic principe in political order. These work came up of these first questions: how was that they thought political order when National State didn’t exist and, more specifically, which were the concepts that organized their political discurse to think politics? Our research intents to contribute conceptual history and political philosophy to interpretate the forms of political thought in argentinian’s 19 Century. In terms of Rosanvallon’s works, we hope to contribute to a “conceptual history of politics” that can give answers to the ways that literate élite built a political order called Argentinian Republic

Full textThis doctoral dissertation is a historical study on the malayization of the Southern Philippines, in a long term perspective, from the 15th to the 19th century. It focuses on the way by which the islamization influenced culturally and socially the Southern Philippines in the context of the emergence and the growth of two modem political entities : the sultanates of Sulu and Maguindanao. Based on the exploitation of indigenous texts -historical narratives and codes -the study demonstrates the use that can be made of these sources in the reconstruction of the history of the sultanates. It gives a chronological overview of the way the different political entities organized and developed in their ecological envirorunent, from the coastal areas to the hinterland. Then it considers the legislative framework and the mythical foundations of royal power to evaluate the degree of malayization ofthe elite. The study finally provides an explanation for the contemporary situation of the Southem Philippines where the Malay cultural heritage is hardly noticeable

Full textThe present study is a reflection on the triangular relationship between a relational impasse, unresolved loss and the psychoanalytic notion of the double. The impasse creates an "all or nothing" situation, the significance of which appears to be the inability to accept the loss, separation and otherness. We assume that denied grief is the reason behind an individual entering an impasse, while the double substitutes this loss even to the point where it becomes illusory. The double refers to everything that pertains to duality in human experience. It mediates the tensions between opposites, both without and within, present and absent. In this context, it refers both to the split and the whole and it is for this the reason that we propose it as a solution (real or illusory) to the deadlock. This is demonstrated by way of five Hebrew literary works

Full textSurely because he wrote nothing, Socrates is much written about. Immediately after his death in 399 B.C., a death felt as a tragic injustice, his pupils wrote dialogues to keep him alive. The so called "Socratic dialogues" were so flourishing that it makes Socrates go down in the world of litterary and philosophical muths. Modernity is however the time in which blossomed the lyths of Socrates, a secular saint, rival of Christ, herald of a morality called to do without God and priests, embodying the ideas of justice and freedom to the sacrifice. Theater is one of the favourite places, if no the perfect but difficult place where this myth is expressed. Heir of the socratic dialogues, the plays try out to philosophize on stage till finding the socratic inspiration which, trough the art of dialogue, invites each one to find himself

Full textThe present dissertation concerns the influence of English on the Greek language in the years 1980-2004. The corpus of the study (333 000 words) is based on different types of discourse: on the one hand financial, scientific and political written texts; on the other hand oral speech from radio advertising, arts and politics. The present study investigates whether the influence of English onto Greek has evolved during that period; it also investigates if such influence has generalized to the whole Greek language or if it limits itself to particular discourse types. Two measure instruments were used: the number of borrowings from English and that of code-witches found in the various types of utterances. Multilingualism, language-mixing, the psycholinguistic analysis of such phenomena, the study of loanwords and code-switching, the relationship between language and thought will remain open and fairly promising research fields for quite a long time to come

Full textDe Vetula, pseudo-Ovidian poem from the 13th century, attributed to Richard de Fournival, Chancelor of the Church of Amiens, is unique insofar as it blends a romantic plot with long developments about hunting, games, astrology, and astronomy, the scientific contribution of which is quite significant. One century later, Prosecutor Jean Le Fèvre decided to translate the text retaining a versified form. The edition and the study of this translation – passed on through three manuscripts – highlight the difficulties and obstacles a 14th century writer had to face while trying to transpose a poetic and elaborate writing from one language to another, popularize somewhat complex scientific notions, and create a specific vocabulary

Full textOur work concerns the genesis of one of the first famous Latin tragedies of the Renaissance: Marc-Antoine de Muret’s Iulius Cæsar. We adopt a perspective recovering from the history of texts: we indeed try, from the data which we can pull of Iulius Cæsar, to reconstitute the library of Marc-Antoine de Muret and to explain the reasons which led the author to be inspired by certain texts and not by the others. If it is, indeed, possible to propose a catalog of the former sources where Muret drew its informations about Caesar’s murder, if it is also possible to operate a distinction between major and minor sources as they supplied in Muret the historic material to weave the tragic weft or only details, he is also determining to wonder in which editions Muret consulted these sources. Analysing the spread of the editions of the Greek and Latin Classics in the 1540s, we have formulated the hypothesis that Muret was inspired by the Annotationes in L.Florum by Joannes Camers (father Giovanni Ricuzzi). At first our studies have concentrated upon the transmission and the reception of the ancient texts giving testimonies to Julius Caesar’s murder, then upon the commentaries on the nature of the tragedy which influenced Muret and led him into the composition of the tragic plot

Full textNicolas Petit (c. 1497-1532), from Normandy, studied and taught in the college of Montaiguin Paris (c. 1510-C. 1522). This college had bad reputation among the Humanists who said itwas hostile to Bonae Literae, but the modernity of Petit’s poetry (Elegiae de redemptionehumana, Paris, Jean Petit, 1517, in collaboration with Jean Des Fossés ; Sylvae. Afterwards, Petit went to Poitiers (c. 1522-1532) to studylaw ; there, he frequented the literary circles and became friend with the Rhetoriqueur poetJean Bouchet and the young François Rabelais. This Ph. D. consists in the edition, annotation and traduction of the Sylvae and of the Elegiaede redemptione humana (1st volume). A second volume contains a study of the intellectualbackground of the college of Montaigu which bases on a reading of the texts written in andaround this college ; then I begin a literary study of the Sylvae (imitation of Stace, influenceof Angelo Poliziano, pre-rabelaisian nature of Petit’s texts) ; in the last part, I analyze theinfluence of Petit’s poetry on Jean Bouchet’s works and also on Rabelais’s ones. In each partof my study, I base my reflection on a general overview of neo-latine literature of the time, inorder to insert Petit in his intellectual and literary background
