For a number of years, the Institute of High-Temperature Electrochemistry of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences has been determining the solubility of silver depending on temperature both in individual potassium and cesium, and with additions to these alkali metals of their halides. At the beginning of the study, they were assumed to be corrosive due to the prevailing opinion in the literature about the low solubility of silver in potassium and even less in cesium. In this work, it is shown that the solubility of silver in cesium is greater than in potassium. Here are measurements of the solubility of silver in liquid cesium at temperatures from 500 to 900°C. The average value of solubility for each temperature varied from 0.94 to 11.1 mol % Ag, respectively. Experimental data on the solubility of silver in cesium are approximated by a polynomial of the second degree. NAg = 6.066 · 10–5T2 – 5.966 · 10–2T + 15.58, where NAg is silver solubility in mol %, Т is temperature in °C. In this article, using data on the solubility of silver in cesium and the ideal Schroeder solubility equation, the values of the activity coefficients of silver and the partial enthalpy of mixing of silver and its partial excess entropy in these solutions were obtained. They are respectively equal: \({{\overline {\Delta H} }_{{{\text{Ag}}}}}\) = 38 154.8 J/mol and \({{\overline {\Delta S} }_{{{\text{exAg}}}}}\) = 14.215 J/(mol · K). The Schroeder equation was used under the assumption that the enthalpy of silver melting is independent of temperature. The values of the logarithm of the silver activity coefficient versus temperature are approximated by the equation: ln(yAg) = 4589 · 1/T – 1.7097. Approximation error R2 = 0.9818.

The success of innovative drugs depends on an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to their design and development. The supramolecular architecture of living systems is controlled by non-covalent interactions to a very large extent. The latter are prone to extensive cooperation and like a virtuoso play a symphony of life. Thus, the design of effective ligands should be based on thorough knowledge on the interactions at either a molecular or high topological level. In this work, we emphasize the importance of supramolecular structure and ligand-based design keeping the potential of supramolecular H-bonding synthons in focus. In this respect, the relevance of supramolecular chemistry for advanced therapies is appreciated and undisputable. It has developed tools, such as Hirshfeld surface analysis, using a huge data on supramolecular interactions in over one million structures which are deposited in the Cambridge Structure Database (CSD). In particular, molecular interaction surfaces are useful for identification of macromolecular active sites followed by in silico docking experiments. Ornithine-derived compounds are a new, promising class of multi-targeting ligands for innovative therapeutics and cosmeceuticals. In this work, we present the synthesis together with the molecular and supramolecular structure of a novel ornithine derivative, namely N-α,N-δ)-dibenzoyl-(α)-hydroxymethylornithine, 1. It was investigated by modern experimental and in silico methods in detail. The incorporation of an aromatic system into the ornithine core induces stacking interactions, which are vital in biological processes. In particular, rare C=O…π intercontacts have been identified in 1. Supramolecular interactions were analyzed in all structures of ornithine derivatives deposited in the CSD. The influence of substituent was assessed by the Hirshfeld surface analysis. It revealed that the crystal packing is stabilized mainly by H…O, O…H, C…H, Cl (Br, F)…H and O…O interactions. Additionally, π…π, C-H…π and N-O…π interactions were also observed. All relevant H-bond energies were calculated using the Lippincott and Schroeder H-bond model. A library of synthons is provided. In addition, the large synthons (Long-Range Synthon Aufbau Module) were considered. The DFT optimization either in vacuo or in solutio yields very similar molecular species. The major difference with the relevant crystal structure was related to the conformation of terminal benzoyl C15-C20 ring. Furthermore, in silico prediction of the extensive physicochemical ADME profile (absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion) related to the drug-likeness and medicinal chemistry friendliness revealed that a novel ornithine derivative 1 has the potential to be a new drug candidate. It has shown good in silico absorption and very low toxicity.

This report describes a new, modified, simple, and cost-effective method for the use of CHROMagar Candida (CHROMagar Company, Paris, France) for the presumptive identification of isolates as Candida albicans after preliminary growth. Sixty randomly selected clinical isolates were evaluated, including 38 of C. albicans. With incubation at 37°C for 24 h, the sensitivity and specificity appeared to be excellent and the test performed better than the traditional germ tube test. However, at earlier times, C. tropicalis isolates gave false-positive results.

The accelerated transition to renewable energy systems worldwide has triggered increasing interest in energy storage technologies, especially in lithium batteries. Accurate diagnosis and understanding of the batteries degradation mechanism are essential. Titration Gas Chromatography (TGC) has been developed to quantitively understand the anode. The inactive Li in the cycled anode can be categorized into two kinds: 1) trapped Li0 (such as trapped lithiated graphite (LixC6), Li0, and lithium silicon alloy (LixSi)) and 2) solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) Li+. Noted that only trapped Li0 can react with the protic solvent to generate the hydrogen (H2), while SEI (Li+) does not1. Therefore, the H2 gas quantification can be correlated to the trapped Li0 as the foundation mechanism of TGC. With the optimal solvent selection, we successfully applied TGC to investigated: 1) the degradation behavior of Si-based anode materials2, 3; 2) corrosion effects on electrochemically deposited Li metal anode4; 3) the cycling behavior of Gr anode; 4) Li inventory quantification in practical Li metal battery5. We demonstrate the various application of TGC techniques in quantitatively examining the Li inventory changes of the anode. Beyond that, the results can provide unique insights into identifying the critical bottlenecks that facilitate battery performance development. AbstractCaO–MgO–Al2O3–SiO2 glass-ceramics with diopside as the main crystalline phase were prepared by melting blast furnace slag obtained from Baotou Iron and Steel Company. The effect of heat treatment on the crystallization behavior of glass-ceramics, containing a large proportion of melted blast furnace slag, was studied by means of differential thermal analysis and scanning electron microscopy. The optimum heat-treatment regime was obtained by orthogonal experimental results for glass-ceramics in which blast furnace slag comprised 70% of the composition and 1% Cr2O3 and 4% TiO2 were used as nucleating agents. The nucleation temperature was 750°C for 2.5 h and the crystallization temperature was 930°C for 1 h. Under this regime, the performance of the glass-ceramic was better than that of other groups in the orthogonal experiment.

The yield of carbon using pyrolysis at temperature of 350°C, 400°C, and 450°C were 34,65%, 26,09%, and 24,22%, respectively. The results of FTIR spectrophotometer analysis on pyrolyzed carbon contain several functional groups of O–H, C=C, and C–O. This produced char can be recycled back to agriculture land as biochar for soil improvement.

High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic plays an important role in various applications, for example, it can be used as a container (bottle). Petrokimia Kayaku Company, a branch of Petrokimia Company of Gresik, produces herbicides using HDPE plastic bottles as their container. Those plastic bottles undergo degradation (kempot) for certain period of time. The aim of this research is to characterize and to synthesize the HDPE plastic film with class F fly ash as filler. The results expected from this research are producing the plastic with a better properties and durability. This research was initiated by taking the sample of HDPE plastic bottle and herbicides (containing Gramakuat, on active material parakuat dichloride) at Petrokimia Kayaku Company. Both the initial HDPE and the degraded bottles was analyzed their tensile strength and Fourier Transform-Infra Red (FTIR) spectral. The next step was to synthesize the HDPE plastic film using class F fly ash as filler and a coupling agent. The filler concentrations were 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20wt %. The best result was 5% filler concentration with tensile strength of 27.7 lbs. This HDPE film was then subjected to degradation test using pyridine solution with various concentrations (1%, 3% and 5%) for two weeks, thermal degradation at 100 °C for two weeks and chemical resistance by xylene with soak time variation of 24 h, 98 h and 168 h. The result of degradations test show that the value of tensile strength was decreased with the increase of filler consentration. The chemical resistance, however, was increased. Bus crashes are common in urban China, and bus company regulations are hypothesized to be related to bus crash risk. We conducted a retrospective survey to examine the association in four large Chinese cities (Changsha, Shenzhen, Fuzhou, and Wuhan). Four types of bus crashes were considered: (a) passengers injured while riding the bus; (b) bus colliding with or scraping other motor vehicles; (c) bus colliding with non-motorized vehicles or pedestrians; and (d) bus damaging public facilities. Based on regulations governing the drivers’ work, complete round trips per day, and their paid salary, three categories of companies were studied: type A: ≥14 h worked/day, ≥6 round trips/day, and >70% of salary based on performance; type B: 8–13 h/day, 4 or 5 round trips/day, and 36–70% of salary; and type C: <36% of salary and no other specified requirements. Of the 926 respondents, 20.7% reported one or more crashes or related risk events in the past month. Drivers from the three types of companies reported crash incidence rates of 31.9%, 8.8%, and 6.0%, respectively, in the past month. Type A crash rates were significantly higher than type C after controlling for relevant covariates (adjusted odds ratio (OR) = 7.1, 95% confidence interval (CI): 3.74–13.47). We conclude that more stringent bus company regulations, which mandate drivers to work long hours and obtain salary based on job performance in meeting demanding metrics, are associated with elevated bus-related crash risks. Local governments in China should regulate bus companies to ensure drivers work reasonable hours and are paid based on the quality of their work (e.g., safety).

Amales Tripathi was a brilliant teacher at Presidency College and the University of Calcutta. He was academically associated with the Asiatic Society, Calcutta. Tripathi's study deals with Bengal during a period in which the great Presidency served as the political, financial, and commercial base of the East India Company. Tripathi touches on many aspects of the trade, shipping, and finances of the Company in Bengal. His initial research work was in economic history, and the doctoral thesis was published as Trade and Finance in Bengal Presidency, 1793- 1833. The work remains the standard work on agency houses and private trade under Company rule in Bengal. Professor Tripathi was highly influenced by F. P. Braudel’s monumental work The Mediterranean and the Mediterranean World in the Age of Philip II (translated from French into English in 1972-73). Even he was also influenced by Holden Furber’s John Company at Work, the first in-depth analysis of the English East India Company‘s Asian activities between 1783 and 1793 and by C. H. Philips’s The English East India Company 1789-1834(1940) which was based on Namerian philosophy. Professor Tripathi discarded the over simplifying approach and denunciatory tone. Background: KRT-232 is a potent, selective, orally available, small-molecule drug that binds to mouse double minute 2 homolog (MDM2) and inhibits its interactions with tumor suppressor protein p53. KRT-232 is under development for treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms, acute myeloid leukemia, and Merkel cell carcinoma. Increased serum MIC-1 (pg/mL) is a pharmacodynamic (PD) marker of p53-mediated activity in patients treated with KRT-232 (Allard,HemaSphere, 2020;4:S1, Abstract EP519). The aim of this study was to assess the safety and effect of a high-fat meal on KRT-232 pharmacokinetics (PK) and MIC-1 PD of a new tablet formulation in healthy volunteers. This is the first characterization of a MDM2-inhibitor-induced MIC-1 response in healthy volunteers. Methods: KRT-232-105 was a single-center, open-label, 60-mg single-dose, 3-treatment, 4-period, and 3-sequence study with a partial replicate crossover design. Volunteers (N=30) were randomized to three treatment groups: A: new tablet, fasted (reference, dosed twice in Periods 2-4); B: new tablet, 30 min after a high-fat, high-calorie meal (test 1, dosed once in periods 2-4); C: current tablet, fasted (test 2, period 1 only). Plasma KRT-232, its acyl glucuronide metabolite (M1) and serum MIC-1 concentrations were measured over 0-96 h. Urine from group C was collected over 0-48 h. Doses were one week apart. All volunteers had aH pyloribreath test and were genotyped for UGT1A1*28 polymorphisms. Results: Volunteers were 43% female, 7% African American and 77% Hispanic/Latino. Mean age was 38.1 y (range, 18-54), and mean body mass index was 26.9 kg/m2 (range, 21.4-30.9). No deaths, serious adverse events (SAEs), or discontinuations were reported. Twenty-one treatment-emergent AEs (TEAEs) were observed in 13 (43%) volunteers; constipation was the most frequent AE, followed by headache. All TEAEs were grade 1 (n=17) or grade 2 (n=4: 1 headache event [possibly study drug-related] and 3 events of headache, influenza-like illness, and pharyngitis). Mean (SD) concentration-time plots of KRT-232 and M1 were similar across the 3 groups (Figure 1a and b). A second peak was observed, consistent with enterohepatic recirculation. With a meal (test 1), KRT-232 geometric least-squares mean (GLSM) maximum concentration (Cmax) was similar (431 and 442 ng/mL (GLSM ratio [90% CI], 103% [87.4-121]) and KRT-232 GLSM area under the curve (AUC0-t) decreased from 2858 to 2325 ng∙h/mL (GLSM ratio [90% CI], 81.4 [76.2-86.9]). Median time of Cmax (Tmax) was 2 h fasted and 3 h fed. Geometric mean half life (t1/2) was unchanged (17.0 vs 17.1 h). Under fasting conditions, the current tablet (C, test 2) vs new tablet (A, reference), KRT-232 GLSM Cmax decreased from 431 to 337 ng/mL (GLSM ratio [90% CI], 78.4% [72.0-85.3]) and KRT-232 GLSM AUC0-t had a possible small decrease (2858 and 2455 ng∙h/mL, GLSM ratio [90% CI], 85.9 [80.5-91.7]). Median Tmax (~2 h) and geometric mean t1/2 (17 h) were unchanged. The fraction of the KRT-232 dose in urine as KRT-232 and M1 was negligible at 0.0201% and 0.0220% of dose, respectively. KRT-232 is a carboxylic acid with pH-dependent solubility that increases with increasing pH.H pyloriinfection, which can increase stomach pH, did not have any discernable impact on KRT-232 PK. KRT-232 and M1 exposure in heterozygous UGT1A1*28 poor metabolizers (6/7 TA repeats, N=16) was generally comparable to exposure in wild-type (WT) UGT1A1*28 (6/6 TA repeats, N=12) subjects. MIC-1 concentrations in serum were variable and followed the PK time course with a median Tmax lag of ~8-12 h. Group A: Mean Cmax 2115 pg/mL, C0 (Baseline) 170 pg/mL, AUC0-T 89267 pg*h/mL and mean t1/2 27 h. MIC-1 Cmax and AUC were generally comparable over 96 h across groups (Figure 1c).Figure 1dshows the statistically significant correlation between KRT-232 AUC0-t and MIC-1 AUC0-t. Conclusions: Based on generally comparable PK, KRT-232 can be administered with or without food, and no dose adjustment is warranted with a new tablet formulation. KRT-232 PK was not affected byH pylori, inferring that higher gastric pH did not alter absorption of KRT-232. KRT-232 exposure in UGT1A1*28 heterozygous poor metabolizers was generally comparable to WT UGT1A1*28 wild type healthy volunteers. The 60-mg KRT-232 dose elicited a reproducible and robust MIC-1 response that correlated with KRT-232 exposure, indicating MDM2-p53 target engagement. ABSTRACT We and others have shown that infection of dendritic cells with murine cytomegalovirus (MCMV) leads to severe functional impairment of these antigen-presenting cells (D. M. Andrews, C. E. Andoniou, F. Granucci, P. Ricciardi-Castagnoli, and M. A. Degli-Esposti, Nat. Immunol. 2:1077-1084, 2001; S. Mathys, T. Schroeder, J. Ellwart, U. H. Koszinowski, M. Messerle, and U. Just, J. Infect. Dis. 187:988-999, 2003). Phenotypically, reduced surface expression of costimulatory molecules and major histocompatibility complex molecules was detected. In order to identify the molecular basis for the observed effects, we generated MCMV mutants with large deletions of nonessential genes. The study was facilitated by the finding that a monocyte-macrophage cell line displayed similar phenotypic alterations after MCMV infection. By analyzing the expression of cell surface molecules on infected cells, we identified a mutant virus which is no longer able to downmodulate the expression of the costimulatory molecule CD86. Additional mutants with smaller deletions allowed us to pin down the responsible gene to a certain genomic region. RNA analysis led to the identification of the spliced gene m147.5, encoding a protein with 145 amino acids. Experiments with an m147.5 mutant revealed that the protein affects CD86 expression only, suggesting that additional MCMV genes are responsible for downmodulation of the other surface molecules. Identification of viral gene products interfering with functionally important proteins of antigen-presenting cells will provide the basis to dissect the complex interaction of CMV with these important cells and to evaluate the biological importance of these viral genes in vivo.

Leukemia is one of the most prevalent forms of cancer worldwide in men, women and children with high rate of mortality. Fifty samples of blood were collected from Iraqi patients who were clinically diagnosed by the consultants of the National Center of Hematology and Medical City and 25 healthy as a control group. By direct sequencing in Macrogen company for PCR products ; nineteen mutations were detected in codon 61 of H-ras gene in acute leukemia patients , 11 of them (57.89%) were substitutions and 8 (42.1%) were deletions. Moreover, the adenine found to involve in 14 (73.68%) of 19 mutations in AML detected in this study. Most of A abnormalities involve either trans version with C and T (7 transversions) or deletion of A. H-ras mutations were also detected in chronic leukemia patients, the H- ras mutations was 12 mutations including 7 (58.33%) deletions and 5 substitutions (41.66%) .

In early 1988, Simpson Paper Company installed the world’s first GE LM5000 cogeneration plant with full high and low pressure steam injection. The full STIG LM5000 achieves a dramatic power increase (from 32.5 MW to 49.5 MW) and remarkable improvements in efficiency from 36 to 43 percent, while reducing NOx emissions from 225 to less than 25 ppmv before further reduction with SCR. The plant, installed at Ripon, CA, features: (1) 130,000 lb/hr (59,000 kg/h) of steam injection at three locations on the gas turbine; (2) the first-time use of SCR with the STIG LM5000 resulting in an ultimate NOx emission rate of 6-13 ppmv; (3) a unique feedwater heat exchanger arrangement to reduce boiler stack temperature to 250°F (121°C); and (4) an innovative submicron inlet air filtration system to minimize the need for compressor washing. The details of cycle selection, design, installation, performance, and economic benefits of this first full STIG installation provide a useful insight into the potential of a flexible new technology.

The paper considers the problem of the noise impact of the CHP operation on adjacent settlements and on humans. At power generating facilities, the process of steam discharge from boilers is a powerful source of noise. This process occurs in emergency situations in order to reduce pressure and during kindling. When discharged from boilers through the GPC, an under expanded and non-isothermal steam flow with high speed, pressure and temperature emits a noise equivalent in characteristics to the sound of a jet engine. To perform the calculations, a request was made for data on steam parameters in front of the GPC from the Vyborgskaya CHP – 17 station, part of the TGC-1 power generating company in St. Petersburg. The calculation of the maximum value of the sound pressure of steam discharge from boilers was carried out. Sound pressure levels have been determined at various octave levels with average geometric frequencies in the range from 31.5 to 8000 Hz. A graph of the dependence of the sound pressure level on the octave level is constructed. It was revealed that the noise of steam discharge has a high-frequency character, the extreme value occurs at a frequency of 1000 Hz and is equal to 161.3 dB for boilers No. 4, 5, 6 and 158.7 dB for boilers No. 1, 2, 3. For comparison, the sound pressure level of the noise of an aircraft jet engine is approximately 160 db. To reduce the harmful effects of noise on humans and adjacent populated areas near the station, it is recommended to install special extinguishing agents – silencers.

PT BCD is one of the large pharmaceutical companies in Bandung, West Java which plays the role of main distributor. PT BCD is facing a problem related to its company logistics. The problem in question is in the form of customer complaints that reflect a bad image for the company, especially regarding on-time delivery. Many of these complaints came from outlets in the central rayon area consisting of RS A, RS B, RS C, Pharmacy D, Pharmacy E, Pharmacy F, PBF G, PBF H, and PBF I. In an effort to overcome this problem, the management plans to launch a program called same-day delivery service so it is necessary to carry out research that integrates the saving matrix method to determine the most optimal distribution route for pharmaceutical products so that the distance traveled in delivery is the shortest as well as carrying out mathematical considerations regarding fleet investment decisions based on which offers are available. Provides the greatest savings using the total cost of ownership (TCO) net present value method approach. From the results of the analysis of the two integrated methods, a picture of the decision in the form of the most optimal route based on the saving matrix analysis is obtained, namely PT BCD – RS A – RS B – PBF G – PBF H – PBF I – Apotek F – RS C – Apotek E – Apotek D – PT BCD with the decision to procure a fleet in the form of purchasing an L300 type box car. AbstractIn-transit losses (ITL) in fattening pigs refers to mortality occurring after having left the farm but prior to stunning at the abattoir. The purpose of this observational study was to identify the associations between environmental and truck temperatures, distances travelled, feed withdrawal, farm, transport company and abattoir and in-transit losses of fattening pigs marketed in Ontario, Canada from 2001 to 2004. A prospective study of 104 trips was conducted to determine temperatures inside the truck and identify the factors associated with this. In 2001, ITL was 0.017%, with 75% of producers losing < 5 pigs annually. In-transit losses increased between distances travelled of 590 to 720 km and decreased at distances greater than 980 km. The Pig Comfort Index, a combination of temperature and humidity, was used to identify thresholds of environmental conditions above which in-transit losses increased. The farm at which the pig was raised explained more variation of ITL (25%) than transport company (8%) or abattoir (16%). The within-farm ITL in 2003 had a positive association with those in 2001 and 2002. Withdrawing food prior to transport may decrease ITL on some farms. The temperature in truck compartments holding pigs increased by 0.99°C as the environmental temperature increased by 1°C and by 0.1°C as the relative humidity increased by 1%. Truck temperature decreased 0.06°C for each increase in driving speed of 10 km h−1 and increased by 7°C with an increase in pig density from one to 2.6 pigs per m2.

The oily sludge contains a toxics material. It has an impact effect to the environment and worker’s health. Therefore, treatment the residue oily sludge in the refineries storage tanks and convert it to useful product, is an important task. Oily sludge (OS) sample was obtained from North Refineries Company (NRC) Baiji which produced about 3000-3500 m3/ year. In this study, different range of pyrolysis temperatures have been applied (300, 500, 700, and 900 °C). The parameters have been investigated the efficiency of char produced from OS. The operation conditions of (20 g, 700 °C, and 1.5 h, under N2 pressure) are investigated. The calorific value was enhanced from 9.125 to 17.247 MJ.kg-1 with an increased rate ~ 89.0 %. The fuel ratio was increased from 0.78 of OS to 0.97 around 24.35 % increased percentage of char at 700 °C. Finally, the energy recovery was enhanced at maximum value 1.909 % of char at 700 °C. The results show the fuel properties were upgraded to burn with a small amount of CO2.

In both clam oocytes and sea urchin eggs, fertilization triggers the synthesis of a set of proteins specified by stored maternal mRNAs. One of the most abundant of these (p41) has a molecular weight of 41,000. This paper describes the identification of p41 as the small subunit of ribonucleotide reductase, the enzyme that provides the precursors necessary for DNA synthesis. This identification is based mainly on the amino acid sequence deduced from cDNA clones corresponding to p41, which shows homology with a gene in Herpes Simplex virus that is thought to encode the small subunit of viral ribonucleotide reductase. Comparison with the B2 (small) subunit of Escherichia coli ribonucleotide reductase also shows striking homology in certain conserved regions of the molecule. However, our attention was originally drawn to protein p41 because it was specifically retained by an affinity column bearing the monoclonal antibody YL 1/2, which reacts with alpha-tubulin (Kilmartin, J. V., B. Wright, and C. Milstein, 1982, J. Cell Biol., 93:576-582). The finding that this antibody inhibits the activity of sea urchin embryo ribonucleotide reductase confirmed the identity of p41 as the small subunit. The unexpected binding of the small subunit of ribonucleotide reductase can be accounted for by its carboxy-terminal sequence, which matches the specificity requirements of YL 1/2 as determined by Wehland et al. (Wehland, J., H. C. Schroeder, and K. Weber, 1984, EMBO [Eur. Mol. Biol. Organ.] J., 3:1295-1300). Unlike the small subunit, there is no sign of synthesis of a corresponding large subunit of ribonucleotide reductase after fertilization. Since most enzymes of this type require two subunits for activity, we suspect that the unfertilized oocytes contain a stockpile of large subunits ready for combination with newly made small subunits. Thus, synthesis of the small subunit of ribonucleotide reductase represents a very clear example of the developmental regulation of enzyme activity by control of gene expression at the level of translation.

When discussing law enforcement, the establishment of a trade union organization must of course have a legal basis. The legal basis for Law Number 21 of 2000 concerning Trade Unions is a development of thought originating from Article 28 Letters C, E, G, H and I of the Law. 1945 Constitution, As it progressed, there were many companies and company owners who rejected the establishment of labor unions. The focus of the problem topic in this research is how civil and criminal threats and their application are for company leaders who refuse to establish a labor union and whether law enforcement efforts for perpetrators of company leaders who reject the establishment of a labor union have been effective.Furthermore, this research uses juridical-normative research methods. The normative juridical research method is a library research on secondary data. The main objective of this research is how criminal or civil threats can be imposed on company leaders for refusing to establish a Work Union, contained in the provisions of Article 43 of Law Number 21 of 2000, but in the procedural legal process there is still a vacuum regarding the authority of the party carrying out the investigation. and registration numbers from the Drug Control Agency and law enforcement efforts for perpetrators of company leaders who refuse to establish a labor union, are still minimal in Indonesia, criminal efforts against company leaders who refuse to establish a labor union, it is known that from 2011 to 2016 each year there were only one or two cases, while the fact is that there are so many companies that carry out union busting actions in Indonesia and the dynamics of their resolution.

Abstract Optimized condition for desalination of the reverse osmosis (RO) rejected stream from Esfahan Oil Refining Company (EORC) using direct contact membrane distillation (DCMD) with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane was investigated here, having designed a set of 34 experiments using response surface methodology (RSM) and full factorial design (FFD) modelling, carried out in a laboratory scale set-up built for this purpose. Statistical criteria for validation, significance, accuracy and adequacy confirmed the suitability of the quadratic polynomial model employed. Response plots and regression equations suggested that the permeate flux response improved with increased feed temperature, reduced permeate temperature and enhanced feed flow rate. Optimizing DCMD process showed that maximum permeate flux of 60.76 L/m2·h could be achieved at the following optimum operational conditions: feed temperature and flow rate of 70 °C and 2 L/min, respectively, as well as the permeate temperature of 15 °C. At this point, the mean annual energy required for 90% water recovery (36 m3/h off the RO brackish rejected stream) at EORC refinery was found to be 96 GJ, which could be supplied using solar or conventional energy systems at Isfahan, facing a very critical water shortage at present.

PT Sayuran Pagi is a company that operates in the agricultural sector and focuses on hydroponic vegetables such as spinach, kale, curly kale and other types of vegetables, and is located in the city of Depok and is a Limited Liability Company (PT). The Morning Vegetable Company has three gardens which are used, one of which is the Cipaku area, Bogor, where all of its production will be sent first to a warehouse in Depok and then distributed to several partners who have collaborated. The increase in consumption of green spinach among the public affects the distribution of this vegetable, which means companies must be able to meet demand with proper distribution. In this research, to determine the shortest route when distributing from the garden to the warehouse using the Dijkstra algorithm. Based on the calculation results, the optimal solution for the shortest route is route A-C-B-F-H-I or from the toll road with a total distance of 10.55km. However, because the focus of this research is on costs, from the results of the research using the Dijkstra algorithm calculation method, it can be concluded that PT. Sayuran Pagi can take the non-toll route because the costs incurred are less than the toll route.

This article emphasizes the n e e d for r e s e a r c h into how the concept of g e n d e r shapes our usage of language. One way of illucidating gender-relatecl language usage is studying how women and men use j o k e s a n d h u m o u r o u s remarks in d i f f e r e n t contexts a n d also focusing on what types of j o k e s are c o n s i d e r e d a p p r o p r i a t e for m e n and women. Jokes might seem as a trivial subject f o r a linguist. In our opinion, however, h a n t e r i n g a n d h u m o u r o u s responses consitute in integral part of h u m a n spöken i n t e r a c t i o n . In private conversations g r o u p s of women are shown to joke and communicate freely. Despite the fact that the female g e n d e r role is limiting it can also provide women with a f r e e d o m a n d flexibility of language not f o u n d elsewhere. We have r e a c h e d the conclusion that women censure their language and their behaviour depend i n g on the situation and the company. Furthermore we have b e e n able to ascertain that m e n and boys use more jokes t h a n women in public conversations. Our g e n d e r roles socialize us i n t o expecti n g girls a n d boys to behave differently also in this respect. Men a n d boys a r e e x p e c t e d to use m o r e jokes. They a r e also allowed to j o k e in situtions were women cannot. Our school observations as well as our scrutiny of televised debates and talk shows c o n f i rm this. Women also refrain f r om joking d u r i n g j o b interviews a n d similar situations. This article is based on two s e p a r a t e studies. Despite dissimilarities in focus a n d collection of data b o t h studies p o i n t to similar results: — Men and boys use jokes more f r e q u e n t l y than girls a n d women — T h e r e is a g e n d e r - r e l a t e d d i f f e r e n c e as to the c o n t e n t s of t h e jokes. — G e n d e r roles restrict women, especially in public situations a n d prevent t h em f r om using humourous remarks or jokes for fear of not being c o n s i d e r e d serious.

Likewise the application of sales and cash procedure, it has run systematically with flowchart that has used a system. Sales and cash system utilized by PT Metro Batavia Distrik Bogor has made use of on-line system, thereby data can be always up date. PT Metro Batavia Distrik Bogor has made use of e-ticket selling system. During a scientific study, a laboratory experiment was conducted to investigate the degradation of oil by various microorganisms in a liquid mineral medium containing 2% oil. This experiment was conducted at temperatures of 24ºC and 5ºC for a duration of 10 days. Using infrared spectroscopy (IR spectroscopy), the degree of oil decomposition by each microorganism was determined. Based on these data, four associations of microorganisms were created, which proved to be effective in breaking down oil hydrocarbons. Using gravimetry and IR spectrometry, the degree of oil biodegradation by these microorganism associations was assessed, ranging from 30% to 70%. Based on the data obtained regarding microbial associations, a new bio-preparation was developed, containing the Pseudomonas sp. K3-H strain and two Rhodococcus strains (F2/2-Н4, F2/1-Н4). Subsequently, fieldwork was conducted on the premises of oil waste of the company "TOO Company – Daulet Asia." Over a period of 12 weeks, the population of oil-degrading microorganisms at the oil-contaminated site reached the required level, resulting in an 89.67% reduction in the amount of oil. It is worth noting that the ambient temperature varied from 05 to 39°C during the day and from 0 to 24°C at night during this period. The results of the field studies demonstrated the effectiveness of the developed bio-preparation based on the Rhodococcus erythropolis KZ1, Rhodococcus erythropolis KZ2, and Pseudomonas putida KZ3 strains. Thus, the proposed bioremediation strategy utilizing the developed bio-preparation successfully passed the testing phase at the landfill of "TOO Company - Daulet Asia" in the Kyzylorda region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Abstract:The production of soybeans in the state of Santa Catarina is quite significant in the national context, since the state is recognized for producing seeds with high standards of physiological quality, due to the use of modern technologies and favorable climatic conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the physiological quality of soybean seeds produced by major companies in the state of Santa Catarina, analyzed in three seasons: harvesting (reception at UBS), after processing and at the time of sale. The experiment was conducted in the state of Santa Catarina, in the main regions and companies producing commercial soybean seeds: Xanxerê (companies A, B and C), Abelardo Luz (companies D and E), and Campus Novos (companies F and G), in addition to Canoinhas, which was evaluated with a single producer (company H). Data analysis and interpretation of the results showed that the soybean seeds produced in different regions have adequate quality for sowing and germination within the standards required for marketing, except the BRS 295 cultivars and Don Mario 7.0i company "F".

PT. Medco is a business entity engaged in managing industrial plantation forests and one of the company’s branches is in South Papua—Merauke. This company manages wood to be processed into raw materials for paper and other purposes. Timber production activities that produce waste in very large volumes, these wastes still have a high calorific value which their utilization will produce fuels that can be used, one of which is as fuel for boilers for power generation. This study uses a qualitative method where research is conducted to obtain the necessary data to then be analyzed again by calculating combustion using the British Thermal Unit (BTU) analysis method. Preliminary data required for qualitative analysis include operational and technical steam boiler data. The fuel used in the combustion process is wood chips and bark obtained from production residue or what can be called waste. The results of the calculation of the combustion process in the 1 × 7 MW steam boiler (PLTU) PT. Medco shows Carbon (C) 34.47%, Hydrogen (H2) 4.22%, Sulfur (S) 0.06%, Oxygen (O2) 30.75%, Nitrogen (N2) 0.22%, Water (H2O) 27.80%, Ash 2.48% and a calorific value of Hight Heating Value (HHV) 9160.8 Btu/lb, Excess water 30% and fuel consumption of 16784 kg/h. The mass flow rate of steam is 35 tons or 66150 lb/h with a combustion gas temperature of 1490 °C and an adiabatic temperature formed in the furnace of 1075 °C. Primary air requirement is 43594.91 kg of air and the secondary air requirement is 18727.24 kg of air. The heat energy that is put into the steam boiler from the results of the combustion process is 98.24 × 106 BTU/h or 28.77204 MW, the heat that is utilized for the process of changing the fluid phase of the liquid in the water pipes along the boiler wall is only 83.038 × 106 BTU/h or 24.31975425 MW. So, it can be concluded that there is an energy loss of 15.2020 × 106 BTU/h or 4.452286 MW.

In his study activated carbon was prepared from Helhelok stones as a raw material by using chemical activation with zinc chloride (ZnCl2) as a chemical agent with the concentration 40% for 25h at (25⁰C±2). The optimum conditions were approved in having carbonization temperature 400ᵒC for 1h to get a maximum percentage of yield 56%. Other properties of the prepared activated carbon were also studied such as pH, ash content, density, moisture content, conductivity, iodine number and methylene blue dye absorbance. Eventually the prepared activated carbon in this work has obtained good characteristics that make it play an essential role in industrial uses and compared it with commercial standard sample from B. D. H Company.

This study investigated the application of the crystallization process for oilfield produced water from the East Baghdad oilfield affiliated to the Midland Oil Company (Iraq). Zero liquid discharge system (ZLD) consists of several parts such as oil skimming, coagulation/flocculation, forward osmosis, and crystallization, the crystallization process is a final part of a zero liquid discharge system. The laboratory-scale simple evaporation system was used to evaluate the performance of the crystallization process. In this work, sodium chloride solution and East Baghdad oilfield produced water were used as a feed solution with a concentration of 177 and 220 g/l. The impact of temperature (70, 80, and 90 °C), mixing speed (300, 400, and 500 rpm), feed concentration (177 and 220 g/l), and time (0.5-9.5 h) on the crystallization performance for oilfield produced water treatment were investigated on evaporation rate and recovery. The recovery increased with increasing temperature and mixing speed while decreasing with an increase in feed concentration. Pure water and salts were recovered from the concentrated produced water, the recovery of pure water at 80 °C, 400 rpm, and 220 g/l feed concentration was 82.22 and 81.35% after 5.5 h for NaCl solution (i.e., simulated oilfield produced water) and oilfield produced water, respectively.

Firm diversification is the level of development a firm undertakes both through the number of firms it manages and the level of its business segments (at least two business segments). Based on agency theory, companies with multi-segments are suspected of placing too large investment in their line of business with low investment opportunities. Meanwhile, according to market power theory, only conglomerate companies are able to diversify well. Previous research stated that even if conglomerate companies diversify, it may lead to firm performance’s loss. This study aims to determine the influence of diversification level, investment opportunities, firm size, leverage, and number of segments on the firm performance of manufacturing companies. The conclusion of this study shows that there is insufficient evidence that diversification level and number of segments has a negative influence on company performance. Also, there is insufficient evidence that leverage has a positive influence on company performance. Meanwhile, there is sufficient evidence that investment opportunities and firm size have a positive influence on firm performance. The lit(h)olinguistics of educational reflection focuses on stones and names relating to stones present in various open and closed spaces of the City of Magpies. It is their specificity that the students of the University of Zielona Góra explore at the interdepartamental seminar known as „Kamień w kulturze” („Stone in Culture”). The relation of space -city-stones has become an inspiration to comment on multiple stones found in Zielona Góra , among others, in: a) the landscape (terminal moraine, brown coal, lapidarium), b) secular architecture (city walls made of field stones, sidewalk, stone foundations), c) sacral architecture (medieval stone chapel in the Vineyard – „Kaplica na Winnicy”, rococo stone baptismal font), d) the museum of Zielona Góra (“disgrace” heavy stones), or e) a jeweler company (amber, pearl, brilliant). Stones that the students learn about, which spatially embellish Zielona Góra, and their names were listed and interpreted in the paper. They make the City of Wine an urban phenomenonwith stone elements of nature and culture being part of its palimpsest layers.

The large amount of nitrogen in the water environment had casued the serious deterioration of water environmental quality. Controlling the emissions of nitrogen from producing source to reduce the emission of nitrogenous effluent was an important step for water environment regulation. In this study, laboratory experiments were conducted under anaerobic conditions to translate the ammonia nitrogen and nitrite nitrogen into nitrogen by ammonia oxidizing bacterias. The wastewater used were from a coal liquifaction company of Yunnan in China. The experimenal conditions were controlled as that temperature was 35 °C, pH was 7.9 and hydraulic retention time was 24 h. The experimental results showed the Ammonia oxidizing bacterias had powerful capacity of denitrification from wastewater and removal efficiency of nitrogen is over 90 %.

This paper investigates the effectiveness of a biological trickling filter for the treatment of wastewaters produced by a company manufacturing dairy products. First a bio-trickling column with a height of 150 cm was packed with lava rocks from north mountain of Tehran. It operates with the recirculation of liquid through the packing. In order to startup the pilot scale, steady state condition was gained by pumping activated sludge and dairy wastewater for 23 days. Afterwards, dairy wastewater was added to liquid tank for treatment. Hydraulic retention time (HRT) of treatment decreases from 5 days to 1 day then at HRT of 12, 8, 7, 6 and 4 h. Results show that the average chemical oxygen demand (COD) decreased from 2,750 to 98 mg/L at HRT of 7 h and efficiency of TKN removal was more than 70%. The microorganisms developed in the bio-trickling filter were able to efficiently remove COD levels up to 2,750 mg/L, under aerobic conditions at pH values between 6.8 and 7.2 under low temperature condition between 10 and 13 °C.

In Indonesia online media, news portals are required to undergo a verification process by the Press Council. To be verified, the news portal media company is obliged to complete the requirements including; a) incorporated as a Limited Liability Company (PT); b) has a Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP); c) has an editorial office; d) has an editorial structure; e) the editorial staff is led by a certified senior journalist; f) have employees; g) registered in labor insurance; h) attach proof of employee payroll sheet. This requirement is still followed by other requirements, as an indicator of the feasibility of a news portal company. The monitoring partner of the Matarakyat dotcom news portal, an online media under the banner of the people. News, is experiencing administrative problems in facing the verification of the Press Council. Lecturers of the State Administration Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), University of East Indonesia (UIT) Makassar, together with a team from the FHISIP of the Open University (UT), and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Bosowa (Unibos) Makassar, carry out Community Service (PKM) guidance. With the guidance method, the 15 employees and journalists obtained results that were believed to be able to overcome the problems at hand. The mentoring has succeeded in providing understanding, knowledge and application in the work practices of partners, before the start of factual verification by the Press Council.

This study aimed to analyze the correlation between Human Capital Sustainability Leadership style and manager resilience through a pragmatic worldview. Using explanatory sequential mixed methods research design (QUAN→qual), respondents covered were managers from the Airline Operations Group of an AIRLINE Company with at least one year of managerial experience within the organization. In the quantitative phase, Human Capital Sustainability Leadership Scale by Di Fabio and Peiro (2018) and Domain-Specific Resilient Systems Scales (DRSSWork) by Maltby, Day, Hall, and Chivers (2019) were used for the online survey. Forty-five (45) eligible respondents have participated. Mean, standard deviation, and Spearman rank correlation coefficient were employed. To further explain the quantitative results, one-on-one qualitative interviews were done with eight (8) key informants, face-toface and online. Themes were identified. Results showed that Human Capital Sustainability Leadership style was exhibited by the Airline Operations Group managers to a very high degree while resilience was exhibited to a high degree. There was a linear, positive, and highly significant correlation between Human Capital Sustainability Leadership style and resilience. Each aspect of the Human Capital Sustainability Leadership style was positively, highly, and significantly correlated with manager resilience. Through triangulation, a model of leadership styles and manager resiliency was built. Abstract Abstract 777 Background: Protein kinase C β (PKCβ) is critical for B-cell signaling and survival. Over-expression of PKCβ is implicated in the pathogenesis of follicular lymphoma (FL). Enzastaurin (ENZ), an oral serine/threonine kinase inhibitor, targets the PKCβ and PI3K/AKT pathways to inhibit tumor cell proliferation, induce apoptosis, and suppress tumor-induced angiogenesis. Reported here are the final clinical and correlative study results from a phase II study. Methods: This was an open-label, single-arm, study of patients (pts) with hiastologically confirmed grade 1/2 and stage III/IV measurable FL. Pts were either chemonaive or relapsed after 1 chemotherapy regimen or single-agent rituximab. Pts received 500 mg oral ENZ once daily (1125-mg loading dose on D1) ≤ 3 years or until progression, withdrawal, or toxicity. The primary endpoint was response rate (RR). Secondary objectives included progression-free survival (PFS), duration of response (DoR), and safety. Pre-treatment samples were used for correlative research. Staining was performed for BCL2, BCL6, CD10, Ki67, FOXP1, FOXP3, CD20, MUM1, CD68, and PD1 expression. ENZ-specific biomarkers investigated by immunohistochemistry (IHC; standard H scores range 0–300) included PKCβ2, PTEN, pS6, pGSK3β, and pCREB. Logistic/Cox regression determined the statistical correlation between clinical outcomes (RR or PFS) and IHC for each marker. All tests of association were conducted at a 2-sided α = 0.05. Clinical Results: Sixty-six pts (23 male, 43 female; median age 62 years \batchmode \documentclass[fleqn,10pt,legalpaper]{article} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amsmath} \pagestyle{empty} \begin{document} \(3382\) \end{document}) were enrolled. Based on FL International Prognostic Index, 12% had low-risk disease (0-1 risk factors [RF]); 55%, intermediate-risk disease (2 RFs); and 33%, high-risk disease (3-5 RFs). Forty-six pts (69.7%) were chemonaive and 20 pts (30.3%) had ≥ 1 prior chemotherapy. The median overall exposure was 10.8 months (mo; 1–57 mo). Of 58 pts who received ≥1 dose of ENZ, 2 (3.4%) had complete response, and 15 (25.9%) had partial response (overall RR = 29.3%). The median PFS was 15.2 mo (95% confidence interval [CI] 11.1–25.7 mo). DoR median was 20.5 mo (95% CI 9.1–31.5 mo). Seven pts (10.6%) discontinued treatment due to adverse events (AEs), of which 5 (7.6%) were possibly drug related: bronchitis, prolonged QTc interval, abdominal distention, colitis, and skin rash. Four pts (6.1%) had drug-related serious AEs: grade (Gr) 3 bronchitis, Gr 2 vision, Gr 2 diarrhea, Gr 2 pancreatitis. There were no drug-related deaths. To date, 5 pts remain on treatment and have been on treatment 3.5–5 years. Correlative Results: Tumor tissue was obtained from 28 pts. Patient demographics and overall RR were well balanced between protocol and correlative study populations. No significant associations with RR or PFS were observed for any FL-specific markers. Significant associations were observed between low cytoplasmic PKCβ2 and increased RR (median H score cutpoint 151.5, odds ratio (OR) [95%CI] = 0.027 [0.001-0.656], p=0.027) (Table 1, Figure 1). Significant associations were also observed between PFS and both cytoplasmic PKCβ2 and cytoplasmic pS6 using median H score cutpoint (Table 1). Conclusions: ENZ has clinical activity and is well tolerated in pts with grade 1/2 FL. Low cytoplasmic PKCβ2 was significantly associated with increased RR and longer PFS; high cytoplasmic pS6 was significantly associated with longer PFS. This study aimed to examine the effect of profitability, liquidity, leverage, and dividend policy on investors’ response; with firm size as the moderating variable. Moreover, the study was quantitative. The data collection technique used purposive sampling. In line with that, there were 334 samples from 39 Property and Real Estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2012-2021. Furthermore, the data analysis technique used multiple linear regression. As the result concluded that (a) profitability had a positive effect on investors’ response;(b) liquidity had a positive effect on investors’ response; (c) leverage did not affect investors’ response; (d) dividend policy did not affect investors’ response; (e) firm size was not able to moderate the effect of profitability on investors’ response; (f) firm size was able to moderate positively the effect of liquidity on investors’ response; (g) firm size was not able to moderate the effect of leverage on investors’ response; and (h) firm size was not able to moderate the effect of dividend policy on investors’ response.

Abstract Bioassays were conducted on 25-29 April 1994 at the Southwest Florida Research & Education Center, University of Florida at Immokalee. Two lots of imidacloprid were tested, Admire®1 (2 F) and BAY NTN 33893 (21.4% imidacloprid, Miles, Inc., Kansas City, MO). SLWF used in this study was maintained in established greenhouse cultures on potted tomato plants (Lycopersicum esculentum Miller, cv. ‘Lanai’) (one in each 15-cm pot) using Metro-Mix® 300 growing medium (Grace Sierra, Horticultural Products Company, Milpitas, CA), and fertilized once per wk using a slow release fertilizer (NPK: 12-8-6) (Diamond R Fertilizer Company, Winter Garden, FL). Whitefly-free tomato plants were exposed to whiteflies for 24 hr in the greenhouse. The plants were then disinfested of adult whiteflies with a vacuum cleaner and maintained in whitefly-free cages for 10 days to obtain second and third instars. Infested leaves were dipped in imidacloprid solutions and then placed individually in a 20 ml glass vial filled with water to incubate for 4 d at 25 ± 2°C, 70% (±5%), RH, and fluorescent illumination at 14:10 (L:D) h. Nymphs were examined with a stereoscopic microscope and dead nymphs distinguished as dry or detached from the leaf surface.

Abstract Background Bezlotoxumab (BEZ) and actoxumab (ACT) are monoclonal antibodies against C. difficile toxins B and A, respectively. Patients receiving a single infusion of BEZ alone or with ACT in the MODIFY I/II trials showed an absolute 10% (relative ~40%) reduction in rCDI over 12-weeks compared with placebo (PBO). The addition of ACT did not improve efficacy. This post hoc analysis investigated whether BEZ prevented relapse with the same strain and/or reinfection with a new strain. Methods C. difficile strains isolated from patient stool samples were typed by PCR ribotyping, PCR free library construction and Illumina whole genome sequencing (WGS). rCDI was defined as diarrhea with toxigenic C. difficile in stool. Reinfection and relapse were differentiated by comparing ribotype (RT) and pair-wise single-nucleotide WGS variations (PWSNV). Relapse was assigned if the baseline RT and the RT isolated during rCDI were the same and PWSNVs were ≤2. Reinfection was defined as rCDI cases with a different RT compared with baseline or the same RT with &gt;10 PWSNVs. Patients receiving BEZ or ACT+BEZ were pooled and patients receiving PBO or ACT were pooled. The effect of BEZ on the cumulative incidence of relapse and reinfection was estimated by Fine & Gray’s competing risks survival model. Results Among 514 patients with rCDI in MODIFY I/II, 259 (50.4%) had a baseline and a post-baseline C. difficile isolate. There were 198 (76.4%) relapse and 50 (19.3%) reinfection cases (Table). Among rCDI cases, proportions of reinfection and relapse were similar between treatments. Proportion of relapses was higher for RT 027. Significant differences in crude cumulative incidence for relapse (P &lt; 0.001) were observed for BEZ and ACT+BEZ groups compared with PBO and ACT groups. Similar changes were observed for reinfection but results were not significant. Cumulative incidence curves showed that relapses occurred earlier and at a higher rate than reinfections, but the reduction in rCDI was similar (Figure). Conclusion The BEZ-induced reduction in rCDI observed in MODIFY I/II reflects the prevention of relapses due to the same strain. A reduction in reinfections was also observed, but likely due to a smaller number of reinfection cases, the difference was not significant. Disclosures M. B. PT Sayap Mas Utama is a company engaged in the toiletry industry. The products produced include DAIA detergent, So Klin detergent, Economy cream soap, Blue Wings cream soap and Dang Dut cream soap. The packaging used to pack these products is plastic / cellophane roll. In its production, PT Sayap Mas Utama cooperates with several cellophane suppliers, namely Unipack, Bonavista, Toppan, and Iluva. It is required because if only work with one supplier, the production needs for packaging cannot be fulfilled. This is happened due to the productivity level of PT Sayap Mas Utama is indeed quite high. There are some suppliers has differences in the delivery of goods so that this influence to the productivity of the company. By this research, it is expected that the company can find the best supplier by considering several criteria, namely price, quality, service, delivery accuracy, and quantity suitability. After conducting research using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method with the help of the Expert choice application, it was found that Unipack is the best supplier with a weight value of 0.311. Abstract Background CDI in patients with SRI is harder to treat and is associated with higher recurrence. MODIFY I/II found that BEZ, a monoclonal antibody against C. difficile toxin B, is superior to placebo (PBO) at preventing rCDI in patients receiving standard of care antibiotics (SoC). This post hoc analysis assessed efficacy of BEZ in patients with SRI in the MODIFY studies. Methods MODIFY I/II mITT populations were pooled to estimate initial clinical cure (ICC), rCDI, and mortality through 12 weeks. Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was calculated with the Modified Diet in Renal Disease (MDRD) method. SRI was defined as eGFR &lt;60 mL/minute/1.73 m2. ICC was defined as SOC ≤16 days and no diarrhea on the 2 days after SoC end. rCDI was defined as diarrhea and toxigenic C. difficile in stool. Mortality within 90 days after randomization was summarized. Results Of the included 1554 patients, 1101 had no SRI (≥90: n = 612; 60 to &lt; 90: n = 489); 430 had SRI (30 to &lt;60: n = 290; 15 to &lt;30: n = 71; &lt;15: n = 69); 23 had unknown eGFR. 87% of SRI patients had ≥1 risk factor for rCDI. Relative to patients without SRI, more patients with SRI were ≥65 years (69% vs. 44%), immunocompromised (25 vs. 20%), had ribotype 027 (25% vs. 17%), and used concomitant antibiotics during SoC (41% vs. 31%) or after SoC (36% vs. 28%). SRI patients had more severe CDI (21% vs. 14%), lower CDI cure (78.4% vs. 80.1%), higher rCDI (31.6% vs. 27.8%), and death (11.6% vs. 5.3%) In the SRI cohort, more BEZ vs. PBO patients were inpatients (81% vs. 72%), ≥65 years (72% vs. 65%), immunocompromised (28 vs. 22%), and used systemic antibiotics after SoC ended (40% vs. 32%). The rate of ICC was similar between treatment groups and the rCDI rate was significantly less the BEZ vs. PBO group (Table). Conclusion SRI was associated with worse CDI outcomes. BEZ given with SoC significantly reduced rCDI in patients with SRI and could benefit this hard to treat population. Disclosures Y.
