Abstract:
A review of a small South African genus Vauanthes Haw. (Crassulaceae), endemic of the south-west of Western Cape Province (Republic of South Africa) is given. The genus is shown to be well distinguished morphologically from Crassula s. str., but was unmeritedly forgotten and its species were included in Crassula s. l. A new system of the genus including two sections and 5 species is presented. Several new combinations (Vauanthes sect. Dinacria (Harv.) Byalt comb. nova, V. depressa (Eckl. et Zeyh.) Byalt comb. nova, V. filiformis (Eckl. et Zeyh.) Byalt comb. nova and V. grammanthoides (Schonl.) Byalt comb. nova) are proposed. The key for the species determination, brief synonymy for subgenera and species, information on types, ecology, phenology and geographical distribution of the species is given.

Abstract:
Twelve morphogroups were defined on the basis of test shape and nature of test coiling as a result of the investigation of the Paleocene benthic foraminifera from the coastal part of East Stara Planina. The morphogroups are rounded trochospiral (RT), plano-convex trochospiral (PT), biconvex trochospiral (BT), milioline (M), rounded planispiral (RP), lenticular (L), flattened ovoid (FO), tapered and cylindrical (T/C), spherical (S), flattened tapered (FT), tubeshaped (T), streptospiral and heteromorphous (S/H). The previously described Byala-type and Flysh-type assemblages differ from each other by the predominant test morphology. There is no strongly dominating morphogroup in the Byala-type, while the Flysh-type is strongly dominated by two morphogroups. Both Byala-type and Flysh-type are dominated by morphogroups typical for deep sea conditions.

Abstract:
This study examines the organization of the village society in Benestad, in southern Sweden, during the period from 1886 to 1928. The study focuses on the commonly owned resources in the village and how the landowners there came together and shared the resources. By studying the records of the societies’ meetings, and in particular the cases that concerns the common resources, a categorization has been done.   The results of the study show that the landowners in Benestad shared pasture lands, milk carriage and other resources with one another. Overall, the village society had a strong organization with at least two yearly meetings about the commonly owned resources. Not everyone was however welcomed to the meetings and the wives and children had to trust their housemaster to also consider their interests. By comparing the results with Elinor Ostrom’s theory of eight design principles that unites all stabile institutions that handle commonly owned resources, one can say that the village society in Benestad was a stabile establishment. In fact, the society is still active - even if the landowners nowadays deal with other matters than those of the milk carriage.
