This article analyses the pattern of relationships between local businessmen-politicians in parliament and the executive elite in budgeting for local infrastructure development. By using the theory of patronage, cronyism, and predatory state as a framework analysis, this paper provides a theoretical contribution that sees the three theories are complementary to each other. The predatory practices in Indonesia often work in the context of political patronage and cronyism. In this study, the businessmen-politicians in parliament and executive elites of local government placed as local-state actors relate to each other in the informal networks for the practices of a predatory state. Abstract:
Bamboo is a versatile product, including building materials, furniture, fencing, handicrafts, pulp and paper, edible shoots, and animal feed used in many countries. The first purpose of this study was to evaluate and group the applications and benefits of bamboo, the second is to compare the views of consumers and businessmen to find the expectation gap between them, the third is to find the correlation between the importance of bamboo applications with the perceived benefit of bamboo and finally apply the importance-performance analysis model to position the expected application and benefits of bamboo. The theory was developed taking in account three factors: the importance, the benefits of bamboo applications, and both consumers and businessmen. The data analysis was performed on a sample of 469 respondents divided into two parts 378 for consumers and 91 for businessmen conducted in Haiti. This study exhibited that the applications were formed two groups - High importance group with five applications represented 48.9 %; and the low importance group with 15 applications are represented 51.1% based in their frequency. Furthermore, the results indicated that the consumer's views were higher than businessman for the important applications of bamboo and the businessmen were higher than the consumers for the perceived benefits of bamboo because the consumers focus on the wants of application can be profitable for us and businessman focus on the benefit. The results showed a positive relationship between the importance of bamboo with the perceive benefits. The study found the most important application is (G) bamboo panels (wall room) from consumers because this application was with multiple purposes; and the fabrication and wood base in the industry from the businessmen. So we might say the applications bamboo was very important for the country according to the respondent’s responses and also the benefits for the businessmen. Therefore, if the country could embrace this alternative, it will be a great opportunity for the population.

Abstract:
Purpose – The aim of the study is to systematize knowledge on the ethos and image of the businessman/CEO in Poland and Portugal as a result of political and socio‑economic changes in both countries, as well as to identify differences and similarities conditioned by history and culture. Research method – The method used in this study is comparative and follows a diachronic analysis, using secondary sources and critical analysis of the literature. Due to the specificity of the research issues being developed, the work is descriptive. Results – The research presents the complex and historically and culturally dependent ethos and image of the businessman in both countries; more frequent Polish research, on representative samples, a qualitative study in Portugal many years ago and a few smaller ones, as well as the lack of research in recent years, indicate the need for new research. The negative image of the businessman from the past in both countries seems to be weakening, but it has not become positive, but rather ambivalent. The traditional ethos of a responsible and caring businessman seems to still hold in both cultures. Polish businessmen are better educated than Portuguese, which is historically conditioned, but the education of Portuguese seems to be increasing recently. Businessmen in both countries have mostly professional experience prior to starting their own business. Businessmen are generally satisfied with life, family and their work, have a stable family life, and attribute their success to personal qualities; they see excessive state participation in the economy and statism. Originality / value / implications / recommendations – The study presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of the development of the ethos and image of a businessman in Poland and Portugal from the second half of the 20th century. This is the first comparative study on the businessman ethos and image in these countries. The study indicates gaps and new directions for potentially interesting research.

Abstract:
This paper is a narration on practices of unlimited liability Marwari businesses of a textile town in Western India. Although depicted as an ‘outdated’ form of incorporation, these businesses were surprisingly resilient prompting us to engage in exploration of their ways of doing business. We deployed Mignolo’s concept of colonial-matrix-of-power to anchor our interpretive sense-making of enactments of our participant businessmen. The daily doings of the businessmen and their families enacted a ‘way of life’, Marwaripan. Activities created an intermesh across ‘local’ spaces of family, business and religion, constituting, what we call, a decolonial matrix-of-praxis. It created a ‘local’ form of Marwari governance where circulation and access to capital depended on extensively (and labouriously) negotiated construction of ‘status’ within open spaces of ‘enunciation’. However, preserving Marwaripan also required arduous striving and collective toil to continuously construct subjectivities based on customary dharma through a communitarian pedagogy that could wean away actors from the state driven pedagogy of regular schools.

This paper discusses human security in the context of media threat towards the society in Indonesia. Specifically this paper seeks to explain the development of media liberalization in Indonesia and the impact on civil rights in obtaining the truth information and the quest for true and reliable information. The increasing number of top businessmen owning media companies, following political and economic liberalization has been one of the most important phenomena over the past few years. The acquisition of media companies by businessman and politicians will influence indirectly the content of news reports. Finally, some radical groups have taken advantage of the free press policy to infiltrate Indonesian moderate Muslim society. Overall, media have failed to show their responsibility and seem to be far from the ethics because they are owned by businessmen, politicians and interest groups.

Abstract:
The business developments initiated by businessmen often require large amounts of financing, hence a third party interference is needed. For this purpose, businessmen generally apply for loans or credits from financial institutions, including banks. The legal relationship between a businessman as a debtor and a bank as a creditor is stated in a credit agreement. An issue arises when there is only one creditor with more than one debtor upon one single credit agreement. In such condition, cross default and cross collateral clauses are known. This research will discuss whether the cross default and cross collateral clauses can provide legal protection for a creditor in its credit agreement with the debtors. In conclusion, cross default and cross collateral clauses are not the only factors that provide legal protection for a credit agreement between one creditor and more than one debtors. The guarantee value in the guarantee agreement made must also be adjusted to the total debt value of all related debtors.

Fierce competition in business often encourages businesses to act unreasonably in their pricing strategies. Orientation to maximum profit often trumps the ethical values derived from religious teachings. This study aims to find the meaning of strategic pricing decision-making of Muslim businessmen based on their awareness of Islamic values. Islamic values arise from the perception of business people as a reflection of knowledge about Islamic ethics that they understand. The research method used is transcendental phenomenology. Abstract:
AbstractIn the realities of everyday life, Christians often encounter various kinds of temptations to do things that are hated by God. Of the many temptations, dishonesty has become a struggle for all Christians, including Christian businessmen. This form of dishonesty is inflating funds or often known as mark-up. This paper discusses the practice of mark-up and how Christian businessmen react to it from a Christian ethical perspective. A Christian businessman should glorify God through his business activities by rejecting behavior that is contrary to Christian faith. As a follower of Christ, he must have a different attitude from society in general. The Bible as the word of God is the basis for studying the practice of inflating these funds so that Christian businessmen can apply it in their life in general and their business activities in particular.

Abstract:
Abstract Climate played a huge role in every change in the historical course of planet Earth. Even today, it is a topic that inspires experts to think and undertake initiatives for sustainable development based on the principles of green transition. However, in conditions where 99% of European businesses are micro, small and medium, it is clear that the progression of European countries towards the goal of green transition will only be through strategic planning in which “green” goals are incorporated. The transformation of micro, small and medium-sized businesses in the future period is imperative. It is becoming a strategic imperative for businessmen who want to advance in the global landscape, which is rapidly developing in a green direction. The transition to a green economy, despite the fact that it is costly, slow and will cause many “victims”, provides significant opportunities for businessmen to strengthen their competitiveness. However, it should not be forgotten that parallel to setting green strategic goals, every organization should provide strong internal capacities for the implementation of large-scale changes resulting from green transitions. The transformation should be in the spirit of smart transition, which will enable a balance between what the company wants to achieve and the skills possessed by human resources.

Abstract:
This article presents a comparative analysis of the social role of two voluntary associations of Turkish businessmen: TUSIAD (The Association of Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen) and MUSIAD (The Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen). These associations are approached both as mechanisms of interest representation and as agents of two different class strategies. Hence, the article highlights two types of organizational activities that accompany interest articulation and representation: first, the activities which seek to bind the “bearers of interest” or “members of class” into coherent communities, and second, those aimed at the promotion of particular macro-level social projects.
