Determining optimum building orientation for naturally ventilated buildings is an important concept. Obtaining the optimum orientation will determine the success of the performance of a naturally ventilated building.<br>This project deals with obtaining the preferred building orientation for 10 regional weather stations across the province of Ontario. Existing commercial buildings are performing poorly relative to the demands of the decarbonising agenda. The result is not only excess carbon emissions, but working environments that are sub-optimal for occupants. The GPET shows interlinked and interdependent weaknesses across the five elements and proposes a new concept called ‘Conscious Building’.
