Abstract:
On the subject of broadcasting the information, finding someone’s favorite book or movie in a sea of data containing books and movies has become a crucial issue. In an era when there are so many genres and types of movies and books, the customer may find it difficult to choose which to discover in the first place. Thus, personalized recommendation systems play an important role because of the value that is attributed to movies and books nowadays, and considering that there are so many to choose from that the user may not be able to have a specific target. In this context, our proposed work, design and implement a prototype of movie recommendation system while taking into consideration the real requirement for the search of movies and books. The research of movie recommendation system by using the k-nearest neighbors approach and collaborative filtering algorithm are adopted to extract the criteria for a good use case on recommender systems. At last, the results are as what was expected as they showed that the system has a good recommendation effect.

Abstract:
Watching foreign 'movies' is a great way to learn a new language” is really exciting to hear. One can't just watch a 'movies'. One has to study a 'movies' .A majority of people often rewatch 'movies' more than they reread books. ... Sure there are e-books, but it's not like they have totally replaced real books being made, and it's better to watch the 'movies' rather than cutting down trees to publish a book to read.If someone is watching 'movies', 'TV' shows, or any other material in your target foreign language, it's generally better to watch it with subtitles than without them. Foreign-language subtitles are generally a slightly more effective study aid than native-language subtitles. Watching 'television' can certainly improve your ability to understand English (passive vocabulary), it will only help with your conversational skills if effort is made to practise the words learned and use them in conversation.

Abstract:
Abstract In the 16th and 17th centuries vials played a prominent role in the visualization of nature’s driving forces as recreated in the laboratory. While in technical drawings the vial was often depicted as empty, there were also elaborate images—mainly pertaining to alchemical knowledge—in which vessels were filled, usually not with actual liquids, but with allegorical scenes. Vials functioned as visual devices, as virtual stages in illuminated manuscripts as well as in engravings in books—contrary to the reality in the laboratory where heat-resistant stoneware was normally used. This study focuses on a lavishly illustrated manuscript—Coronatio naturae—which circulated in numerous versions throughout Europe in the 17th century. The second part of this article presents the manuscript in detail, while the first part examines the serial “vial portraits” that appeared in books and manuscripts—the principal medium of alchemical communication at the time. It will be argued that the visualization of the individual stages of the alchemical process has an additional, inherent dimension of movement that can be described as cinematographic.

Abstract:
Progress in education is now beyond traditional and orthodox teaching approaches. Utilization of technology in teaching seems to be a pipe dream. Each day passes with modern interpretations and innovations. Teaching resources and technological advancement result in the desired outputs. When textbooks fail to lure learners’ attention, integrating learning with enjoyable sources appears to be an appropriate method to achieve the most. This strategy has its pros and cons. Teaching through movies might be difficult but when done well, it has multiple benefits. Unlike books, movies allow learners to acquire knowledge visually. The movie Gandhi, for instance, permits learners to experience a replica of Mahatma Gandhi’s biography. Visual samples provide a greater understanding of the period and era besides the culture of the historic figure. Furthermore, unlike books, movies are not restrained in any way. As a result, this study investigates the analytical perception of the pedagogical use of movies in French lectures as the practice is not as advantageous to French students as it appears. Following the implementation of a movie module in two French classrooms, a questionnaire was administered to 35 participants of first and second year higher secondary education to obtain feedback for analyzing the effectiveness of language acquisition. According to the data, French learners have extremely positive attitudes towards the movie-based method and consider it engaging and beneficial for enhancing linguistic and social skills.

Abstract:
In recent times, recommendation systems provide suggestions for users by means of songs, products, movies, books, etc. based on a database. Usually, the movie recommendation system predicts the movies liked by the user based on attributes present in the database. The movie recommendation system is one of the widespread, useful and efficient applications for individuals in watching movies with minimal decision time. Several attempts are made by the researchers in resolving these problems like purchasing books, watching movies, etc. through developing a recommendation system. The majority of recommendation systems fail in addressing data sparsity, cold start issues, and malicious attacks. To overcome the above-stated problems, a new movie recommendation system is developed in this manuscript. Initially, the input data is acquired from Movielens 1M, Movielens 100K, Yahoo Y-10-10, and Yahoo Y-20-20 databases. Next, the data are rescaled using a min-max normalization technique that helps in handling the outlier efficiently. At last, the denoised data are fed to the improved DenseNet model for a relevant movie recommendation, where the developed model includes a weighting factor and class-balanced loss function for better handling of overfitting risk. Then, the experimental result indicates that the improved DenseNet model almost reduced by 5 to 10% of error values, and improved by around 2% of f-measure, precision, and recall values related to the conventional models on the Movielens 1M, Movielens 100K, Yahoo Y-10-10, and Yahoo Y-20-20 databases.

Films based on comic books are now at the peak of their popularity. Every year we get at least a couple of movies about superheroes. These are high-budget productions, perfected to the smallest detail. But it was not always so. In my article I discuss the first attempts to filming comics – so-called “serials” filmed in the 1940’s. These films were shot quickly, cheaply and without paying special attention to faithfulness of the source material. However, these movies had also an impact on conventions presented in modern comic book movies.

Abstract: Now a day’s recommendation system has changed the style of searching the things of our interest. This is information filtering approach that is used to predict the preference of that user. The most popular areas where recommender system is applied are books, news, articles, music, videos, movies etc. In this paper we have proposed a movie recommendation system named MOVREC. It is based on collaborative filtering approach that makes use of the information provided by users, analyzes them and then recommends the movies that is best suited to the user at that time. The recommended movie list is sorted according to the given to these movies by previous users and it uses K-means algorithm for this purpose. MOVREC also help users to find the movies of their choices based on the movie experience of other users in efficient and effective manner without wasting much time in useless browsing. This system has been developed in PHP using Dreamweaver 6.0 and Apache Server 2.0. The presented recommender system generates recommendations using various types of knowledge and data about users, the available items, and previous transactions stored in customized databases. The user can then browse the recommendations easily and find a movie of their choice. Keywords: Recommender System, Machine Learning, Collaborative Filtering, Content based Filtering

The recommendation system is used in various fields like it is used to recommend products, books, videos, movies, news, and many more. In this paper, we use a Recommendation system for movies we built or a movie recommendation system. It is based on a collaborative filtering approach that makes use of the information provided by the users, analyzes them and recommends movies according to the taste of users. The recommended movie list sorted according to the ratings given to this system is developed in python by using pycharm IDE and MYSQL for database connectivity. The presented recommendation system generates recommendations using various types of knowledge and data about users. Our Recommendation system recommends movies to each and every user by their previous searching history. Here we use some searching techniques as well. Over the next century, the movie musical has continued to enthrall audiences with new performance and production styles. The long list of movies in which characters sing is matched only by the lavish number of books that have been published about the topic, the majority of which were written for Hollywood musical buffs. These books typically include movie stills, plot synopses, score credits, and fascinating anecdotes. The case study pedagogy over the years led to its essence in effective learning with real-life situations, logical progression and data-driven analysis in solution optimization. However, it is has its limitations in solving managerial problems with creativity. It confines the learning to its boundaries, is mechanistic and unemotional by design. It does not unfold limitless interpretation while merging creativity and innovation with out-of-the-box thinking. A differentiated session offering led to incorporating fiction movies and books to tinker young minds with a plethora of thought rainbows. The essence of the unconventional mode of group learning resulted in linkage of marketing theories to fiction, taking the interpretations to a pleasure voyage. The philosophical perspective with high engagement moves from literary subjectivity to profound management objectivity. This article depicts that experimentation with differentiated pedagogy can generate better learning outcomes which can create an effective impact for management students in creative thinking and wiser decision-making.

The article shows how hero as myth has become a popculture icon. In literature new model of ancient Greece hero represents Percy Jackson from Rick Riordan’s books about Olympians. Movie based on this novel shows how Greek mythology is popular. One of actors who played in this adaptation, Nathan Fillion, played also a hero a few times. These movies brought modern and different kind of superhero, for instance Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible Song-Along Blog (2008) or James Gunn’s Super (2010), which is similar to Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass (also 2010). A new hero is now an average person and proves that courage is more important than extrapowers. Blockbuster movies are popular on the net, where photos from scenes become memes. After the invention of the Internet access to books, games, and movies has become more convenient and faster. More and more people are becoming interested in these types of hobbies. Databases of games, books, and movies are increasing every year, and therefore a person who is interested in them has a need to organize leisure time. A hobby journal can help in this situation, for example, a diary of reading, watching movies, or playing games. Apps that implement this functionality not only help users track their progress, but also help them search for new products, discuss with other users, and receive recommendations that are generated using various algorithms. This article examines some services that provide such solutions and compares them. Using twelve of the most popular resources, we researched and compared the main features of the systems. In addition, we wanted to determine whether compared services fully fulfill the needs of users.

Abstract:
The present study focuses on one of the contemporary American fairy tale movies to analyze the postmodernist aspects present in these movies. The researcher has selected the movie Tangled released in 2010 for this purpose, it is a remake of the famous fairy tale Rapunzel recorded by famous fairy tale writers, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. One of the most prominent patterns of analyzing the movies through the lens of postmodernism is the framework by Kevin Paul Smith, in his book The Postmodern Fairytale, Folkloric Intertexts in Contemporary Fiction. He has presented eight elements of intertextuality to examine the intertextual elements of the older fairy tales present in contemporary literature (2007). Analysis reveals these eight elements in Tangled (2010) that are evident in traces of postmodernity in the movie.

Abstract:
Under the trend of globalization, movies, as a medium of cultural communication and exchange between countries around the world, are becoming increasingly prominent. Subtitle translation, which has been sublimated from an obstacle between cultures to a convenient tool, can restore the effects of art in movies and television programs, and extend the meaning within the works to facilitate cultural dissemination. In this sense, different meanings within movies as well as cultural background and character features have to be translated. This article intends to summarize the functional equivalence theory, and base the analysis of translation skills and characteristics in the movie Green Book on the theory. Through further consideration for the relationship between the theory and the practice, the research questions of how lexical equivalence, syntactic equivalence, textual equivalence and stylistic equivalence function and cooperate with one another are to be fully investigated. Finally, the conclusion is to be drawn with the purpose to show the original taste of the movie Green Book and put forward some advice in subtitle translation.

In this paper two British movies — Derek Jarman’s The Tempest (1980) and Peter Greenaway’s Prospero’s Books (1991) — will be compared to the American Mazursky’s (1982). Their different settings of the island, in particular, will reveal different cultural attitudes towards a number of issues: if the Greek island of Mazursky underlines the Atlanticism of the play associated to a realistic European recolonization, Jarman’s and Greenaway’s postmodern choices – although often in conflict — emphasize the dreamy, fantasmatic quality The Tempest shares with the movies.

Using Bloom's taxonomy of knowledge as a framework, this paper argues that, in order for Human Behavior and the Social Environment (HBSE) undergraduate students to develop a strong theory base, they must be educated and evaluated at the “application” level of learning. This paper describes an approach to teaching developmental theory at this level by using children's literature and popular movies. The approach is described and examples of the ways in which course material was integrated and applied to student selection of books and movies arc provided. Discussion of student feedback to the course assignments is also explored.

Abstract:
Abstract: This paper discusses about a hybrid recommendation platform for Movies, Books and Songs in one roof. A recommender system is a subgroup of information filtering systems that helps in predicting the “rating” or “Preference” that a user would give to any item. It also helps users to get media of their choice based on their experiences of self and other users in a productive and efficacious manner without wasting time in useless browsing. Previous approaches in recommender system (RS) include Content based filtering and Collaborative filtering. These approaches have a particular limitation as like the necessity of the user history as they visit. So as to overcome such dependencies, the Hybrid Recommendation System is introduced. It uses both Collaborative based filtering system and Content based filtering system for recommending media. In this way, the system performance will be greatly improved through the integration of these two. Keywords: Media Recommender System, Movies, Books, Songs, Recommender, TFIDF, Cosine Similarity, Pearson Correlation, KNN, K-Means Clustering.
