Abstract:
The book Human Fraternity discusses peace and tranquility among different societies and strengthening them. The author of the book, the late Seyyed Abdollah Entezam Vaziri (1895-1983), is one of the officials of the second Pahlavi period. He wrote the book after the outbreak of two world wars. The devastation and tragedy of the two world wars led to the writing of the book. The book was first published non-scientifically during the life of Entezam (before 1983) and then in April 2021 the publications of Miras-e Farhikhteganby Mansour Rashidi and Ali Ghanbarian published it scientifically and coherently in Iran. Entezam Vaziri was a culture-lover figure and has several books and articles. In the present article, the book Human Fraternity in 2 parts (part one: the structure of the book and part two: the study of the text of the book) is introduced, described, and reviewed.

Abstract:
Books and their reviews have been historically central to knowledge dissemination in the social sciences and humanities. Despite this perceive importance, few studies have assessed the relative importance of these document types in the dissemination of knowledge. This paper aims at better understanding the place of book reviews in the scholarly communication system and to shed light--through the analysis of books on Canada, United Kingdom and United States and their reviewers--on the international circulation of ideas in the social sciences and humanities. Based on 1,675,999 book reviews indexed in the Social Science Citation Index and Arts and Humanities Citation Index over the 1975-2016 period, our results show that book reviews are decreasing in importance in all disciplines—especially those where books have historically been peripheral. We also observe a high rate of homophily between reviewers and reviewed books, with researchers being primarily interested in the books that have been written by someone from their own country. Hence, despite the now widely held assumptions of the globalization of science, social science and humanities remains a highly localized activity.

Abstract:
This thesis reports on a study which developed a profile of the reviewers of children's books in Australia. It then compared the profile with one which was developed by Kathleen Craver in 1984 of children's book reviewers in the United States. Five research questions were addressed by this study relating to reviewers and their opinions regarding review aspects, reviewer roles and review practices within the framework of their personal and professional background. Craver surveyed the reviewers from School Library journal because as a group, they provided the greatest potential for statistical significance of all the reviewing journals in the United States. As no Australian journal enjoys either the number of reviewers or the circulation of School Library journal, reviewers from eight journals which are most used by teacher and children's librarians were selected to form the population for this research. These journals are Fiction Focus, LINES, Magpies, Reading Time, Reviewpoin t, Review Bulletin, Scan and Tasmanian Resources Review. The reviewer profile which emerged from this study was very similar to Craver's in that it was not one which could be entirely defined in terms of group characteristics. Selected cross tabulations either with the particular journals, demographic details, or other variables, particularly those relating to reviewer experience failed to produce predictable behaviourial correlations. However, reviewers were united on certain issues which can be attributed to their own professional background.

The purpose of this thesis is to identify the structural features of the reviews elaborated by the teams of the Bravo!, Rolling Stone Brazil and Cult magazines in order to broaden the theories about the subject. The three are among the main publications aimed at covering the Brazilian cultural segment. At first, the genre took the marks of the academic segment to mass media, but acquired its own nuances over the years. There are 52 texts published by the magazines as a corpus. They presented diversified compositions, thematic contents and styles. Each publication was followed through 13 editions, which corresponds to the period of one year and one month. Concepts of authors who have worked on academic and journalistic reviews have served as the starting point for this survey. On the communication side, we consulted Coelho (2007), Marques de Melo (2003) and Piza (2013), among others. On the scientific side, we consulted Severino (2000), Maia (2007), Abreu-Tardelli, Lousada and Machado (2009), Medeiros (2009) and Didio (2013). The material was examined base on Bakhtin (2000). His theories about discourse genres were the main category of analysis used in this research, whose methodology is interpretative based on quantitative information for qualitative evaluations of the material and the results obtained. The main result is the observation that journalistic review, unlike what occurs in the university field, breaks with pre- established structures, although it is possible to say that its global order is roughly divided into introduction, development and conclusion. But the chain of ideas will depend much more on the knowledge about the focused object, on the professional experience and on the textual abilities of the reviewer than on the editorial rule. The exception occurs with one of two models used by Bravo! magazine that divided the text with explicit topics. The division presented variations according to the thematic content. In general, the compositional format brought this model closer to what is seen in the academic world, especially in the appreciation of books

Abstract:
This paper examines the conversion of a GE 7FA from generating 60 Cycle power to 50 Cycle power. The turbine is nominally rated for a 60-cycle ISO output of 175 MW. With the gas turbine boom of the late 1990s and then the cancellation of several GT based projects, a surplus of GTs has been created. Owners of these GTs have been reviewing alternative options for installation at another of their plants or resale of their GTs to another user. One potential solution is the conversion of a GT into a 50-cycle machine for installation in other markets around the world. If this type of conversion proves feasible, it also opens the door for the 60-cycle designed GTs to be marketed overseas to compete with original 50-cycle equipment. Three potential options for creating 50 Cycle power with a 7FA were identified: 1. Operate the Combustion Turbine Generator (CTG) at 3000 RPM to generate energy at 50 Hz. 2. Operate the CTG at 3600 RPM to generate energy at 60 Hz with the installation of an invertor, external to the CTG, to convert 60 Hz potential to 50 Hz. 3. Operate the turbine at 3600 RPM and the generator at 3000 RPM by installing a gearbox (speed reducer) between the turbine and the generator. These three options were researched and pricing was obtained on those that were considered feasible. The turbine OEM, GE, was also contacted to provide input on each of the scenarios. The results for each of the options are as follows.

Blended learning offers opportunities to incorporate different resources like books, multimedia files, web pages and innovative learning activities. Interactive assignment, chat and forum, quiz, survey, workshop and social networking are examples of activities that teachers can include in their courses. On the other side, online learning tools can be expensive and unacceptable for some of the teachers and students who resist to change or afraid of new technology. With the rapid development and wide application of e-learning, online and in-class teaching methods enhances each other and offers many benefits for students and teachers. The purpose of this paper is to reveal the advantages and applicability of the blended learning in higher education sector by reviewing the relevant literature, and then to investigates students’ perceptions and attitudes towards blended learning tools used by The Bucharest University of Economic Studies. An exploratory research based on questionnaire was conducted among the students from the Faculty of Business and Tourism. Results of the research showed that the students have positive attitudes towards blended learning. The findings also indicated that blended learning tools do enhance students’ learning experiences and learning outcomes. Based on these results, suggestions for future research directions and recommendations for both students and teachers interested to combine face-to-face and online learning were formulated.

Abstract:
Over the last few years, a wide range of building materials, systems, and technologies have been produced around the world, and concern about the field’s sustainability challenges has been mandatory. Green technology refers to a variety of new and resourceful advancements in creating environmentally-friendly transforms in daily life. It has been prepared as well as used in such a way that natural resources along with the surroundings are protected. It is intended to be an optional source of technology that lowers the need for fossil fuels and causes not as much of damage to human, animal, in addition to plant health, as well as to the environment. The use of green technology is intended to diminish waste and pollution. Environmental technologies as well as clean technology are other terms for it. There have been studies on innovation that assumes environmentally friendly properties of materials, systems, and technologies; nevertheless, nothing has been said about the social aspects of sustainability. It is important to remember that sustainability encompasses not just environmental, but in addition financial and societal dimensions, the latter of which has direct repercussions for society’s well-being. Because worldwide concerns of environmental deterioration have compelled our society to take action, efforts aimed at this goal should be based on historical and cultural values, as well as the interaction between humans and nature to rethink development and evolve the concept of long-term sustainability. New ecologically friendly technologies are, without a doubt, critical to achieving long-term development. The purpose of this research is to emphasize the societal characteristics or features that contribute to environmental conservation through green technologies. The study is based on reviewing of secondary data sources like journals, articles, newspapers, social media, books, etc.

Abstract:
This research contributes to the influential work of Melbourne-based Architect, Gregory Burgess. Awarded the RAIA Gold Medal in 2004, Burgess is best known for celebrating human values through design and for his spiritual methodologies, organic aesthetic, and work with Indigenous landowners. While Burgess has initiated very little writing, his work has been the focus of numerous articles published within a variety of journals, newsletters, magazines, and books including those from the construction industry which are often overlooked in journalistic reviews. This paper investigates discussions of architecture in publications through lenses such as intended audiences and physical medium, which consequentially develop narratives and form perceived relationships between an architectural project, an architect, and reader. Conducted as archival research within Gregory Burgess’s anthology of saved publications, the examination and cataloguing of over 230 publications that mention him and his work date from 1979-2013. The breadth of the collection provides publications which range from local timber fabrication companies to Russian journals reviewing organic architecture, the majority in which the architect and the work was discussed without consultation from the design team. As a robust collection was maintained by the architect himself, general issues of discovering and accessing publications including those which fall within the digital dark age can be accessed and provide a fuller historical perception of the built work. The discussions of and narratives formed within this literature portray Burgess and his work in conscientious manners through the written word targeted for specific audiences: the construction industry, the trained architect, and members of the general public. Often, rather than contributing to architectural journalism or critique in a meaningful way, prominent projects and their broader themes become a vehicle for the author to promote their own voice and ideas. The findings argue that the different relationships an author has experiencing an architectural space demonstrates a broader picture of the architectural industry and the ways that historical publications can generate a perception of a designer and their designs.

Abstract:
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a quantitative methodology to assess the environmental impacts of products, services, and systems. Considering the sustainable furniture production and consumption system is one of the challenges that should be addressed and improved for a better quality of life for residents and lower pollution levels for the environment. The International Reference Life Cycle Data System (ILCD) Handbook by the European Commission has defined 23 LCA applications within which developing design strategies is one. Considering 80% of environmental impacts are decided in the design stage, the research explores LCA's application in sustainable furniture system design by reviewing former articles. The study aims to define furniture design strategies based on LCA analysis. Methods: This research presents a systematic review of 165 articles and books (2000 - 2021) of Life cycle assessment research on furniture. These articles are chosen from Scopus and Google scholar, based on the relation to furniture LCA and impact factor, to make the literature review reliable. It analyses papers in the following three aspects—first, the assessed object(s) and the LCA objectives; second, LCA methods used in articles; and third, the recommended design strategies. The main findings: Reviewed articles generally belong to two categories, case study research and literature review. The exploration provides an overview of LCA supporting sustainable furniture design in 4 different levels: material level, product life cycle level, product service system level and company level. As a result, the research proposes a framework and maps the reviewed furniture design strategies onto this framework. The proposed framework shows design strategies in these four levels: material design, furniture life cycle design, product service system design, and value chain management. The framework also shows how various design strategies contribute to sustainable furniture design and visualizes linkages, overlaps and complementarities between these strategies based on quantitative LCA results.Discussion: Even though these articles proposed many strategies, we are unsure whether some strategies are missing. What is more, if we want to use these design strategies to support practical design activities, an important step is to define the priorities of different strategies in these four levels. This framework needs further assessment and confrontation among experts to make the framework comprehensive and meaningful in real work.
