Abstract:
- Nicola Bombacci was an important PSI's leader during the First World War and the biennio rosso (1919-1920). After his expulsion from the PCd'I, of which was one of the founders, he approached fascism and became one of the last supporters of it since he had been shooted by partisans and died in Como Lake, and had been exposed in Loreto Square beside to Mussolini. After a short historical mention of the Bombacci's political life, these pages will analyse deeper the question of the passage from the left to fascism in interwar Italy, through the analyse of his political language. The method executed in order to analyse the question foresees the use of a biography by dates and the identification of the political interpretation's categories, which permit to carry out a comparison between the social-communist and fascist period. In conclusions, the article proposes a thesis of interpretation: the political passion.Parole chiave: Fascismo, Nazione, Rivoluzione, Classe, Guerra, Passione politica Fascism, Nation, Revolution, Class, War, Political passion

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract Motivation The potential of the Bombali virus, a novel Ebolavirus, to cause disease in humans remains unknown. We have previously identified potential determinants of Ebolavirus pathogenicity in humans by analysing the amino acid positions that are differentially conserved (specificity determining positions; SDPs) between human pathogenic Ebolaviruses and the non-pathogenic Reston virus. Here, we include the many Ebolavirus genome sequences that have since become available into our analysis and investigate the amino acid sequence of the Bombali virus proteins at the SDPs that discriminate between human pathogenic and non-human pathogenic Ebolaviruses. Results The use of 1408 Ebolavirus genomes (196 in the original analysis) resulted in a set of 166 SDPs (reduced from 180), 146 (88%) of which were retained from the original analysis. This indicates the robustness of our approach and refines the set of SDPs that distinguish human pathogenic Ebolaviruses from Reston virus. At SDPs, Bombali virus shared the majority of amino acids with the human pathogenic Ebolaviruses (63.25%). However, for two SDPs in VP24 (M136L, R139S) that have been proposed to be critical for the lack of Reston virus human pathogenicity because they alter the VP24-karyopherin interaction, the Bombali virus amino acids match those of Reston virus. Thus, Bombali virus may not be pathogenic in humans. Supporting this, no Bombali virus-associated disease outbreaks have been reported, although Bombali virus was isolated from fruit bats cohabitating in close contact with humans, and anti-Ebolavirus antibodies that may indicate contact with Bombali virus have been detected in humans. Abstract:
Twelve commercial and promising mango cultivars were evaluated at three agroecological zones of Bangladesh viz., Akbarpur (AEZ 29), Chapai Nawabgonj (AEZ 11), and Gazipur (AEZ 28) during 2006-07 to investigate their regional adaptability. Cultivars included in the experiment were Ashwina, BARI Aam-1, Bombai, Deori, Fazli, Gopalbhog, Kalia, Khirsapat, Langra, Lata Bombai, Rani Passand, and Surjapuri. The plants were transplanted in the field during July 1993. Tree volume was the maximum (79.78 m3) in Khirsapat and the minimum in Lata Bombai (21.92 m3). Langra had the highest percentage of perfect flower (27%), while the lowest was in Deori and Kalia (5%). The earliest and latest fruit was harvested from BARI Aam-1 and Ashwina, respectively, at all locations. All the cultivars were harvested 3-5 and 8-10 days earlier at Akbarpur and Gazipur, respectively, compared to that at Chapai Nawabgonj. The highest individual fruit weight was obtained from Fazli at all locations, while Gopalbhog (130 g) had the lowest fruit weight at Akbarpur and Surjapuri at Chapai Nawabgonj (172 g) and Gazipur (140 g). Total soluble solids content was reasonably high in all the cultivars at each location (around 20%) except Ashwina, Lata Bombai, and Surjapuri which contained around 16% TSS. Lata Bombai was highly susceptible to anthracnose, floral malformation, and stem-end-rot at almost all the locations. Other cultivars showed low to medium susceptibility to all these diseases. The highest and lowest fruit producing cultivars were Khirsapat (206) and Lata Bombai (106) at Gazipur, while Rani Passand (196) and Bombai, Lata Bombai (92) at Akbarpur but at Chapai Nawabgonj, these were Langra (325) and Deori (117), respectively. Cultivar Fazli (83.61 kg) was the highest yielder by weight, while Lata Bombai (18.35 kg) was the lowest. Among the locations, Chapai Nawabgonj was the most favourable for plant growth, perfect flower production, and yield, and least favourable for pests and diseases. The overall result of the experiment indicated that good quality mango could also be grown successfully under Akbarpur and Gazipur conditions adopting appropriate variety like Khirsapat. Abstract:

Abstract:
Background : The number of the survivours of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) is increasing. They have reported health problems. Objective: This study aimed to document the health problems of EVD survivour in Bombali District Sierra Leone. Methods: This was a cross sectional study conducted at Bombali District, Sierra Leone in February, 2015. Participants were EVD survivours admitted and discharged from September, 2014 to February 2015. In all, 304 survivours participated in the study by filling an interviewer administered questionnaire. Data were analyzed with SPSS version 21.0 using descriptive statistics. Association between independent variables was explored with chi square test. The level of statistical significance was set at p <0.05. Results: The median age of survivour was 24 years (range 1-89 years), 105 (34.5%) were <18 years, and more than half of the total responders (60.9%) were females, 92 (30.3%) were discharged in November, 2014. All 189 (62%) had health problem: 65 (34%) and 124 (66%) had single and multiple complaints respectively. Joint pain was reported by 111(58.7%), generalized body pain – 91(48.1%), headache – 81(43%), eye problems – 65(34%), psychological problems – 63(33%). Only 2 (1.06%) survivours have sought for help. Among survivours of 18 years and above, 148(74.4%) had health problems p<0.001. Health problems were reported by 101(70.1%) of survivours with no formal education p=0.002. Also, 52(83.9%) widow(er) had health problems p<0.001. Conclusion: There is a need for the establishment of survivour’s clinic. Provision of specialized care for survivour is encouraged based on their identified needs. This can be done early to avoid complications.

Abstract Among the Arabic manuscripts preserved in the Alberto Bombace Central Library of the Sicilian Region in Palermo there is an anonymous and acephalous document, the ms. III.C.4., which provides, as its only identification signs, the shelf-mark S.M.43., indicating that it used to belong to the Library of the Benedictine Abbey of San Martino delle Scale, and a cursory Italian explanatory annotation provided in 1796 by the Archbishop of Aleppo. As a preliminary step toward the critical analysis of the above-mentioned document, which will be the subject of further study, this paper will attempt to provide a codicological description of the manuscript together with a philological and historical reconstruction of its arrival to the Central Library of the Sicilian Region.

Epidemiological coverage of mass drug administration (MDA) with ivermectin and albendazole had been reported >65% in all 12 districts annually. Eight districts qualified to implement transmission assessment survey (TAS) in 2013 but were deferred until 2017 due to the Ebola outbreak (2014–2016). In 2017, four districts qualified for conducting a repeat pre-TAS after completing three more rounds of MDA and the final two districts were also eligible to implement a pre-TAS. Methodology/Principal findings For TAS, eight districts were surveyed as four evaluation units (EU). A school-based survey was conducted in children aged 6–7 years from 30 clusters per EU. For pre-TAS, one sentinel and one spot check site per district (with 2 spot check sites in Bombali) were selected and 300–350 persons aged 5 years and above were selected. For both surveys, finger prick blood samples were tested using the Filariasis Test Strips (FTS). For TAS, 7,143 children aged 6–7 years were surveyed across four EUs, and positives were found in three EUs, all below the critical cut-off value for each EU. For the repeat pre-TAS/pre-TAS, 3,994 persons over five years of age were surveyed. The Western Area Urban had FTS prevalence of 0.7% in two sites and qualified for TAS, while other five districts had sites with antigenemia prevalence >2%: 9.1–25.9% in Bombali, 7.5–19.4% in Koinadugu, 6.1–2.9% in Kailahun, 1.3–2.3% in Kenema and 1.7% - 3.7% in Western Area Rural. Conclusions/Significance Eight districts in Sierra Leone have successfully passed TAS1 and stopped MDA, with one more district qualified for conducting TAS1, a significant progress towards LF elimination. However, great challenges exist in eliminating LF from the whole country with repeated failure of pre-TAS in border districts. Effort needs to be intensified to achieve LF elimination.

Abstract:
____________________________Abstract: This article aims to analyze three songs, whose lyrics were composed by Berenice Azambuja, from the album titled Fogo de chão, by the author and Os Açorianos, released in 1975. The selected lyrics are "Lanceiro negro", "Querência" and "Lamento de gaúcho", and they are analyzed as for the maintenance of tradition and the innovation in the Regionalist and Traditionalist gaucho’s theme from the perspective of women's vision in this process. Through popular culture, in turn, was founded the basis and widespread the ideas that even today are part of the memorialistic cultural heritage of the gaucho people. So, through all the process of maintenance of the ideas related to the gaucho, it is important to reflect on the role played by women in the custody and the continuity of the tradition, and if there is any possibility to overcome this significance. Their importance in the social, artistic and cultural environment, asdisseminators of gaucho’s ideas and customs, is often superimposed and almost erased, given the greater number of men as representatives of culture, and in greater number, too, composers and interpreters of gaucho traditionalist music are male, which implies that male vision is closely linked to the legitimacy of the gaucho. Abstract:
Ebolaviruses continue to pose a significant outbreak threat, and while Ebola virus (EBOV)-specific vaccines and antivirals have been licensed, efforts to develop candidates offering broad species cross-protection are continuing. The use of pseudotyped virus in place of live virus is recognised as an alternative, safer, high-throughput platform to evaluate anti-ebolavirus antibodies towards their development, yet it requires optimisation. Here, we have shown that the target cell line impacts neutralisation assay results and cannot be selected purely based on permissiveness. In expanding the platform to incorporate each of the ebolavirus species envelope glycoprotein, allowing a comprehensive assessment of cross-neutralisation, we found that the recently discovered Bombali virus has a point mutation in the receptor-binding domain which prevents entry into a hamster cell line and, importantly, shows that this virus can be cross-neutralised by EBOV antibodies and convalescent plasma.

Abstract:
Abstract:
Teenage pregnancy continues to be one of the social barriers to the human resource development of Sierra Leone. It limits the educational progress of the girl child. The situation was a national concern in the year 2015 immediately after the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) out-break as teenage pregnancy of school going children reached its record highest in Sierra Leone, and demanded a change in the Education policy to encourage their class attendance and sitting to public examinations. This research was, therefore, conducted in one worst-hit community in the Bombali District, the Masuba community which has a Government supported Maternal and Child Health Center that could recount better for the mishap so that useful information to support Government to respond to the menace would be generated. To ensure this, the research employed a desk research in which information contained in the records of the Masuba Health Center, which was the only functioning health facility in the Masuba Community that responded to the affairs of pregnant and lactating mothers was collected. The research sought to ascertain the surge in teenage pregnancies, number delivering at the health facility complications at their deliveries, Government’s intervention on family planning in the health facility occasioned by the EVD outbreak in the Masuba community. The research found out that there was a marked increase in the number of teenage pregnancies in the Masuba community, with such reduced complications in the middle period of the outbreak; teenage mother deliveries were overwhelmingly safe with only a few referrals; Government Family Planning interventions during the EVD outbreak were the non-injectables, non-invasive, and sensitization, while that the pre and post-EVD outbreak period were counseling, pregnancy test, alongside with the injectable, pills, condoms, and invasive methods.

Abstract:
The present study was conducted in 2015 to examine the profitability of litchi orchard production at Dinajpur sadar upzila in Dinajpur district where litchi orchards are generally leases out for 1 to 6 years by the owners known as “Deed”. In total 312 litchi orchard trees of which 254 were Bombai, 40 Madrazi, 20 China-3, 2 China-2 and 3 were Bedana, were selected to estimate the BCR, NVP and IRR of litchi production. The litchi trees were 18 to 22 years old. Project appraisal techniques and sensitivity analysis was done by using primary data to determine cost and benefits from litchi production. The study revealed that individual’s investment on litchi production is profitable. The study also found that in producing litchi Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) were 1.93, Tk. 1643896 and Tk. 1230, respectively. Sensitivity analysis suggested that the investment in litchi production is profitable even for 10% increase in operating and maintenance cost or 10% decrease in gross benefit. The Agriculturists 2016; 14(2) 32-37
