Abstract:
Modified peanut husk was used as an adsorbent to remove chrome blue-black from its aqueous solution. Results of kinetic experiments demonstrated that the adsorption was effective and rapid.Three different kinetic models (i.e.,intraparticular diffusion model, Lagergren-first-order and second-order equations) were used to describe the adsorption mechanisms. The adsorption of chrome blue-black on modified peanut husk was not controlled by intraparticular diffusion. The kinetic adsorption data can be well simulated by the second-order equation and the adsorption might be rate-limiting controlled. The suitability of the adsorbent was tested by fitting the equilibrium data with Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms, which gave good fits with both isotherms.

Abstract:
Abstract In the 16th century, the Spanish brought logwood from Mexico to Europe. Its extract was used for textile dyeing. The French introduced the logwood tree to Western Hispaniola, which became Haiti in 1804. Around 1880, Haiti exported most of its logwood to France. In 1847, Runge introduced the black chrome-logwood ink as an alternative for iron-gall ink, because the latter attacked the steel writing nibs. The most important constituents of logwood are hematoxylin and hematein. Due to the profitable import conditions from Haiti, chrome-logwood ink became the cheapest and most commonly used black writing ink in France. This could explain why Vincent van Gogh, during his French period, used it for writing and drawing and why most of the French postcards from the first half of the 20th century, studied in this publication, were written with chrome-logwood ink, while most of the Dutch postcards were written with an iron gall ink.

An attack that can leak authentication credentials on a Windows operating system by using the SMB file sharing protocol on a Windows operating system is an ever-present problem. It's been exploited in many ways, but the only solution found is limited to local area networks. Jonathan Brossard and Hormazd Billimoria recently presented one study involving internet attacks at the Black Hat security conference in 2015. However, no SMB-related attacks were published. In this paper, we will explain how an attack can cause Windows credential theft, which may affect the default configuration in Google Chrome browser.Key words— Kredensial Windows, Google Chrome, Vulnerability

Abstract:
We evaluated the adhesion, friction characteristics, durability against bodily acids, sterilization, cleaning, and anti-reflection performance of diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings formed as a surface treatment of intracorporeal medical devices. The major coefficients of friction during intubation in a living body in all environments were lower with DLC coatings than with black chrome plating. DLC demonstrated an adhesion of approximately 24 N, which is eight times stronger than that of black chrome plating. DLC-coated samples also showed significant stability without being damaged during acid immersion and high-pressure steam sterilization, as suggested by the results of durability tests. In addition, the coatings remained unpeeled in a usage environment, and there was no change in the anti-reflection performance of the DLC coatings. In summary, DLC coatings are useful for improving intracorporeal device surfaces and extending the lives of medical devices.

Abstract:
The development of spectrally selective materials is gaining an increasing role in solar thermal technology. The ideal spectrally selective solar absorber requires high absorbance at the solar spectrum wavelengths and low emittance at the wavelengths of thermal spectrum. Selective coating represents a promising route to improve the receiver efficiency for parabolic trough collectors (PTCs). In this work, we describe an intermediate step in the fabrication of black-chrome based solar absorbers, namely, the fabrication and characterization of nickel coatings on stainless steel substrates. Microstructural characteristics of nickel surfaces are known to favorably affect further black chrome deposition. Moreover, the high reflectivity of nickel in the thermal infrared wavelength region can be advantageously exploited for reducing thermal emission losses. Thus, this report investigates structural features and optical properties of the nickel surfaces, correlating them to coating thickness and deposition process, in the perspective to assess optimal conditions for solar absorber applications.

Abstract:
Zero-waste is an ambitious goal to encourage sustainable production, consumption optimum recycling and resource recovery. The recycling and resource recovery of chrome-tanned leather waste is a difficult proposition because of the three-dimensional chemical network of collagen, which renders leather waste incompatible to polymer matrices. Many attempts have been undertaken to reuse leather waste, most of them require technological processes and challenging chemical pretreatments, which make the reuse an economically disadvantageous industrial operation. The paper aims to show how a very fine separation of leather solid waste leads to raw materials suitable for mixtures with natural rubber, without any chemical pretreatment. In other words, the paper intends to be a stimulus to manage leather solid waste carefully to start a cleaner and more profitable production. In particular, various industrial compounds containing different concentrations of post-tanning dyeing, or chrome shaving or oil-tanning and natural rubber were vulcanized through a standard preparation. Some compounds were also reinforced with carbon black and the vulcanization kinetics were monitored through rheometer. Experimental results indicate that there exists an optimal concentration of waste such that post-tanning dyeing post-tanning and chrome shaving are suitable for manufacture floor mats, soles and heels while oil-tanning waste can be used for making hose or conveyor belts. The mechanical performances of the articles prepared by direct mixing with leather waste are the same as those of commercially distributed rubber products.

Abstract:
Édouard Vuillard (1868–1949) is well known for his small atmospheric paintings, often portraying his own home and family as the subject matter. Interior, Mother and Sister of the Artist (1893) underwent at least one restoration treatment before being acquired by the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in 1934. The painting was treated again in 1954, but no analysis was carried out to understand the artist’s methods and materials at that time. To better understand the choices of Vuillard in Interior, Mother and Sister of the Artist, a comprehensive suite of imaging and spectroscopic analyses was undertaken, including: XRR, UVF and IRR Photography, XRF, Raman spectroscopy and SERS, and µ-FTIR. Statistical analysis on the XRF data using MCR-ALS further revealed some of the intricacies of Vuillard’s technique and color choices, where a large number of pigments were used in designing this intimate composition, including lead white, zinc white, bone black, ochre, umber, vermilion, Geranium lake, red lead, ultramarine, Prussian blue, chrome yellow, chrome orange, zinc yellow, strontium yellow, cadmium yellow, and a chromium oxide green.

AbstractNew simple, rapid and accurate spectrophotometric techniques for osmium assays in fixatives and stained tissues have been elaborated using acid (Tropaeolin O, Tropaeolin OOO-I, Tropaeolin OOO-II, Orange G), o,o′-dihydroxo substituted azo dyes (Eriochrome Blue Black R, Acid Chrome Dark-Blue, Eriochrome Black T) and flavonoids (morin, quercetin, luteolin). Methods are based on sensitive osmium(IV) reactions with reagents and the formation of stable coloured compounds. Tolerance ratios of main matrix components of histological specimens during Os(IV) spectrophotometric determination with reagents has been established. Results of osmium determination in fixatives and fixed tissues, obtained by means of different reagents, appeared to be sufficiently similar, although effects of matrix components differ. The accuracy of spectrophotometric osmium assay in fixatives with azo dyes has been confirmed with voltammetric investigations. Results obtained from osmium uptake by rat gum tissues are valuable for clinical testing of dental drugs, indicating the influence of drug treatment on the gums.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTWe present two distinct methods to nanostructure the surface of amorphous silicon to produce unique, nanoscale surface features. One method is a dry etch process that employs a modified Bosch1 process on an advanced silicon etcher to produce needle-like features of amorphous silicon. Likewise, we also investigated metal-assisted wet chemical etching2 as an alternative method to nanostructure the amorphous silicon to produce porous-like features. The resulting surface topography leads to an optically black appearance over patterned or large areas. This is a result of the interspacing between each needle and pore that leads to a high optical absorption. Thus, we designate it as black amorphous silicon (b-a-Si). We have deposited and formed regions of b-a-Si on variety of insulating films and metal electrodes, including chrome and titanium. In this study, we characterize the electrical and optical properties of as-deposited amorphous silicon and nanostructured amorphous silicon.

The results show that the two products both can meet the needs of users in above-mentioned surface performance, besides pure Zinc coated product has more advantages in this performance in comparison to Zn-Al-Mg coated product. Users should pay attention to clean the fingerprint regularly which attached to the surface of the steel plate during use and the protection with the exposed surfaces of the steel during shipping.

Abstract:
Black chrome coatings were electrodeposited under galvanostatic conditions on SS substrates. To enhance the thermal stability of the coatings for viable usage in parabolic trough receiver tubes in solar thermal applications beyond 250°C, graphite encapsulated FeCo nanoparticles had been introduced in the electrolyte solution at different weight percentages (0.025, 0.05, 0.1). An increase in the thermal stability of the coatings in the range of 400°C to 600°C is noticed from the STA analysis. The corrosion analysis (Tafel) and cyclic voltammetric studies of the coatings in the presence and absence of nanoparticles have been carried out in 3.5% NaCl solution to understand the stability of the coating in saline environment.

Abstract:
A microscopy investigation has been performed together with non-destructive component analysis to verify properties of pigments used in Unhangak Hall Dancheong in Hwaryeongjeon Shrine, Suwon. In addition, X-ray diffraction analysis, polarization microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy analyses were performed on the pigment specimens collected at the site. Dividing the Unhangak interior into areas and performing pigment property analyses has confirmed that the pigments Jusa, Jangdan, and Sukganju (iron oxide, red ocher) have been used for red colors. Jahwang, Gold, and Gamboge (organic pigments) have been used for yellows, the pigments Hayeob, Seokrok, Neorok, Samrok, and Chrome green have been used for greens, and Seogcheong and Heocheong have been used for blues. Baekto, Yeonbaek, Hobun, and Chalk have been used for whites, and Meog has been used for black. The inclusion of Chrome green (a modern pigment) among the pigments used to produce the Dancheong of Unhangak Hall has been confirmed. With this one exception, traditional pigments have been used. One unique property of the dancheong decorating Unhangak Hall include the use of higher than ordinary proportions of Jusa and Hayeob than is ordinarily found in traditional buildings. Another distinction is that expensive pigments including Seogcheong, Heocheong, Seokrok, Jusa, Jahwang, Gold, and Hayeob have been intensively used in worship spaces including the center compartment (Jeongkan) and Nae-hap. These pigments have been used over a coating of white primer (mostly Baekto, Yeonbaek, Hobun or Chalk) to improve choromaticity and color vibrance.

Abstract:
The cross-section stratifications of samples, which were removed from six icons, are studied using optical microscopy, micro-Raman spectroscopy, and micro-Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The icons, dated from the 14th to 19th centuries, are prominent examples of Byzantine painting art and are attributed to different artistic workshops of northern Greece. The following materials are identified in the cross-sections of the icon samples using micro-Raman spectroscopy: anhydrite; calcite; carbon black; chrome yellow; cinnabar; gypsum; lead white; minium; orpiment; Prussian blue; red ochre; yellow ochre; and a paint of organic origin which can be either indigo ( Indigofera tinctoria L. and others) or woad ( Isatis tinctoria L.). The same samples are investigated using micro-FT-IR which leads to the following identifications: calcite; calcium oxalates; chrome yellow; gypsum; kaolinite; lead carboxylates; lead sulfate (or quartz); lead white; oil; protein; Prussian blue; saponified oil; shellac; silica; and tree resin. The study of the cross-sections of the icon samples reveals the combinations of the aforementioned inorganic and organic materials. Although the icons span over a long period of six centuries, the same stratification comprising gypsum ground layer, paint layers prepared by modified “egg tempera” techniques (proteinaceous materials mixed with oil and resins), and varnish layer is revealed in the investigated samples. Moreover, the presence of three layers of varnishes, one at the top and other two as intermediate layers, in the cross-section analysis of a sample from Virgin and Child provide evidence of later interventions.

Abstract:
High effective selective absorbing bimetallic structures of Sn and Ni for solar thermal collectors have been investigated. They were produced by cathode electrodeposition on polished copper plates from water solution. Scanning electron microscopy micrographs show that they consist of a highly branching layer of bimetallic needles. They serve as a radiation trap for the solar radiation because of multiple reflections. The reflectance spectra were measured in the visible and infrared range. The absorptance of the coating was calculated as 98% in the solar radiation range and the thermal emittance in the infrared region at 100 °C - as 10%. The selective absorbing coatings are investigated by X-ray diffraction analysis and X-ray photoеlectron spectroscopy as well as optical spectra in the UV-VIS and IR region. The samples with selective absorbing coatings have been tested at natural solar radiation. The results show that the new coatings have substantial advantages in comparison to the widely used black chrome.

Abstract:
This study applied multiple scientific approaches to establish the significance of an old work of art, Red Guitar, by examining its historical origin and the color materials used in its creation. Additionally, the study provides thus far unknown pieces of Olga Picasso’s family history to be added to her biography. Scientific approaches included digital X-ray radiography, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and elemental thermal conductivity analysis. This combination of techniques provided a broad confirmation as to when the painting was created. The artwork includes colors (white, black, blue, yellow, green, red, and brown/red) and prevalent use of lead- and iron-based historic pigments—chrome yellow, yellow ochre, and red ochre. It also documents the use of unconventional materials, such as the colorant Pigment Red 4, and nitrocellulose. This investigation led to the conclusion that the artwork, Red Guitar, is authentic and in accordance with Picasso’s work during the first two decades of the 20th century.

Abstract:
A multi-directional relationship may be conceivable between elements and melatonin in sessile organisms. Melatonin is an important hormone that helps regulate metabolism. This study investigated how different doses (0 μM/control, 250 μM, 500 μM, 1000 μM, and 1500 μM) of exogenous melatonin supplementations (EMS) affected the elemental contents in Anatolian black pine (Pinus nigra Arnold. ssp. pallasiana (Lamb.) Holmboe) seedling tissues (root, stem, and needle). Two different application forms (root-dipping and needle-spraying) were selected in the study. In the samples of seedling tissues, sodium (Na), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), iron (Fe), aluminum (Al), magnesium (Mg)/ppm; chrome (Cr), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), phosphorus (P), selenium (Se), silicium (Si), silver (Ag), sulfur (S), zinc (Zn), and molybdenum (Mo)/ppb were analyzed using inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES). Of the 18 elements examined, there was a statistically significant difference (p<0.05) between all seedling tissues and different doses of EMS. The results show that EMS may have the regulatory effect on seedling tissue element metabolism.

Abstract:
Vulnerability lifecycles and the vulnerability markets are related in a manner that can lead to serious security and economic risks, especially regarding black markets. In the current era, this is a relationship that requires careful scrutiny from society as a whole. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed the actual data relating to vulnerability-regulated markets in the case of two well-known browsers, Firefox and Chrome. Our analysis shows that financial reward is the main motivation for most discoverers, whose numbers are increasing every year. In addition, we studied the correlation between vulnerability markets and the vulnerability lifecycle from many perspectives, including theoretical concepts, and statistical approaches. Furthermore, we discussed the potential risks for people and organizations in terms of security and economics. We believe that money is the main motivation in vulnerability markets and that the latter are, in turn, the main driver of the vulnerability lifecycle, which presents several risks to the software industry and to society itself. Thus, in our opinion, if vulnerability markets can be controlled, the vulnerability lifecycle will be reduced or eliminated, along with its associated risks.

Abstract:
In this paper, polyaniline/attapulgite (PANI/APT)-supported nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI) composites were synthesized by liquid-phase chemical reduction method and used for the removal of two kinds of dyes. The structure of as-prepared nZVI/PANI/APT was characterized by various test methods. The removal property and degradation mechanism for azo (alizarin yellow R, methyl red, chrome black T, methyl orange) and non-azo (methylene blue, rhodamine B) dyes in aqueous solution were investigated. The presence of PANI/APT can decrease the aggregation of nZVI particles with maintenance of reactivity and improving adsorption capacity for degradation azo dye. The experiment results showed that the removal property of the composite materials on azo dyes is obviously better than that on non-azo dyes. The varying removal efficiencies of dyes depend on the different degradation mechanisms. Azo dyes removal by nZVI/PANI/APT was mainly due to the reductive cleavage of the N = N of nZVI, while non-azo dyes removal mainly contributes to the adsorption of PANI/APT. The study demonstrated that nZVI/PANI/APT has potential applications for the removal of azo dyes from wastewaters.

Abstract:
A variety of metallic and non-metallic mineral deposit types occur within Archean and Proterozoic rocks in the area encompassing the Lake Nipigon Region Geoscience Initiative. Archean deposit types include Algoma-type banded iron formation-hosted iron (e.g., Lake Nipigon iron range); volcanogenic massive sulphide copper–zinc (e.g., Onaman–Tashota belt); ultramafic intrusion-hosted chromium (e.g., Puddy–Chrome lakes); mafic to ultramafic intrusion-hosted copper–nickel – platinum group element (PGE) (e.g., Lac des Iles); and pegmatite-hosted deposits of rare metals (Li, Ta, Be), uranium, and molybdenum (e.g., Georgia Lake field, Black Sturgeon Lake, and Anderson Lake, respectively). Mesothermal lode gold deposits are prominent in the Beardmore–Geraldton camp. Superior-type iron formation occurs in Paleoproterozoic Gunflint Formation. "Red-bed" copper occurs in Mesoproterozoic Midcontinent Rift-related Osler Group volcanic and interflow sedimentary rocks. Native copper and copper sulphides occur in Mesoproterozoic Sibley Group sedimentary rocks, adjacent to ultramafic intrusions. These mafic to ultramafic intrusions, associated with Midcontinent Rift magmatism, host copper–nickel–PGE deposits (e.g., Seagull, Great Lakes Nickel). Silver-bearing veins occur in Paleoproterozoic Animikie Group sedimentary rocks in proximity to Midcontinent Rift-related mafic intrusions (e.g., Silver Islet, Silver Mountain). Lead–zinc–barite veins, uranium-bearing veins, and amethyst vein and replacement-type deposits may be cogenetic and formed at or near the unconformity between Sibley Group basal sandstone and underlying Archean granitic basement (e.g., Dorion, Black Sturgeon Lake, McTavish Township). The hydrothermal systems that produced all of these veins were probably driven by heat associated with Midcontinent rifting. Many occur in structures related to rift-bounding faults. Iron oxide – copper–gold deposits may occur near the English Bay intrusion.
