Abstract:
The main objective of this paper is to analyze the messages that were released from Podemos' and Ciudadanos' profiles on Twitter during the period of the election campaign for the general elections of December 2015. Consequently, the theoretical approach is discussed from the perspective of political marketing, the theorizing of election campaigns and the playful theory of political communication. Consistent with the above, the 2181 tweets that constitute our sample will be analyzed through the language games as the main methodological tool, and also by the specific frame analysis as a complementary technique. In addition, we also propose to conduct semi-structured interviews in depth to see how an election campaign is managed through social media, how it is coordinated with the overall campaign and what importance do political parties give to interaction with users.

Silva, Fernanda Ferreira. "Redes de colaboração científica nos cursos de graduação em Biblioteconomia no Estado de São Paulo: interseções entre graduação e pós-graduação." Thesis, 2018. http://eprints.rclis.org/38509/1/FernandaFerreiradaSilvaVC.pdf.

Abstract:
The study presents an overview of the production and scientific collaboration networks from professors of the courses of Library Science of Institutions of Higher Education of the State of São Paulo and the intersection between the production and scientific communication of the teachers linked only to graduate courses and those linked both to graduate and posgraduate. It was assumed that the interaction between learning and research is essential to assure a high-quality learning and that, on the Information Science, the research can't ignore the knowledge produced on the professional field, which is a main silo for new researches and the advancement of knowledge. It was considered the hypothesis that, while research in Brazil is developed mainly on the posgraduate stricto sensu, the professor from the Library Science courses not integrated to the posgraduate also develop researches, but with a focus on the professional experiences, whose locus of disclosure and discussion are the academic/professional events, that allow collaboration networks different from those provided by the forums of research discussion on the graduation and represent an important potential of knowledge production for thinking and systematization, not only from professionals, but from sharing between graduate and posgraduate teachers. It was used the Social Network Analysis methodology, along with Bibliometric techniques. The scientific production 116 active professors was collected from the Lattes Platform and implemented with information from ResearchGate and Google Academics, on an interval that comprehends the last two assessments from Capes (three-year period from 2010-2012 and four-year period from 2013-2016). The results confirm, in part, the hypothesis and show that, from the 46 teachers that are not linked to the posgraduate, eleven (23,9%) did not present any publication on the analyzed interval. This is an alarming data, considering that the changes on the workplace, with jurisdictional aspects of the professions under discussion, have placed many challenges for the information professions. The research also shows that 90,6% of the teachers from Library Science on the state of São Paulo (whether linked to the posgraduate or not) have cared about the research and presentation of scientific, academic or professional works, and they maintain collaboration networks with different authors, although the internationalization process is limited to a few institutions, mainly the Spanish ones. The research contributes to the compreension of scientific collaboration between professors of the courses of Library Science of Higher Education of the State of São Paulo, comparing the behavior of teachers integrated and not integrated to the posgraduate and enable to outsource the close connection between research activities and professional activities of Library Science, and also between learning and research in this area.

Abstract:
This research aims to understand the different practices and strategies early career researchers and PhD students from the social sciences have in Social Networking Sites (SNSs) for science communication in one particular country: Brazil. Following this purpose, the central research question is which are the motives and rationale of the researchers for using social networking sites for science communication. Two sub-questions arise from this general research question: How do practices and strategies relate to the academic system of this country? And How do the traditional science communication practices translate into the use of Social Networking Sites (SNS)? This research is empirically oriented building up on case studies in Brazil. This study makes use of the adaptation that Van Dijck (2013) made of the Actor-Network Theory (ANT) and the review of affordances of social media platforms (Bucher & Helmond, 2016) to apply it to the study of social media as the theoretical approach. The methodological approach of this research is qualitative, using both interviews and netnography as research methods. The primary motivations for using different Social Networking Sites are all related to connectivity: communication with peers, to the public and research subjects, updating themselves about their research issue, dissemination of research, availability of papers, self-branding and participation in interest groups are the most mentioned. These motivations translate into cross-posting practices and integrated communication strategies -combining online and offline elements- on the different Social Networking Sites. These motivations translate into perceived affordances all related to social affordances, therefore, social capital processes: availability, scalability, visibility and multimediality. The academic system of the country has remained unchanged as it privileges traditional scholarly academic formats; therefore, early career researchers and PhD students from the social sciences only use the different Social Networking Sites (SNS) as a side aid but not as a primary means of communication. Social media is underused as a means of public science communication, even though these platforms offer a lot of advantages for pursuing such issue. Traditional science communication practices translate into the use of Social Networking Sites (SNSs). The most important issue that came out in this report was the fact that social affordances provided by Social Networking (SNSs) are still required to be endorsed by real life meeting to start further collaboration and the fact that English is the preferred language for such issues.

Abstract:
In this work it is presented a study about the practices, perceptions and values possessed by researchers at the Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades (FFyH) of the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC) in relation to the mode of scientific publishing in open access (OA). This new paradigm of communication, which was supported by the international scientific community, was born with the technological advances that allow editing and electronic distribution of their articles using the Internet and also due to the major economic barriers imposed by the corporation publishers to access this type of specialized information. In order to develop this work four research centers were selected: Centro de Investigaciones y Estudios sobre Cultura y Sociedad (CIECS), Instituto de Antropología de Córdoba (IDACOR) Instituto de Humanidades (IDH) and Centro de Investigaciones de la Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades (CIFFyH). All of these belong to the FFyH. Through an exploratory study and using the survey online, it was investigated dissemination practices, perception and values that these scientists give to OA publications. It was also studied the factors, difficulties and concerns about the choice of journals where they prefer to publish the result of their investigations. The use of OA journals, institutional repositories and journals portal at UNC as source of information was researched and also the reasons and motives that influence on the choice of model of publications. The use, the reasons and the choice were studied in order to determine the predispositions or resistance the FFyH researchers regarding the publication in OA. The results were analyzed and compared with other national and international studies on the subject of OA. It can be said that this work reached to similar conclusions.

Abstract:
The possible emigration of users of the website to any of the new communication channels is based on easier access to the library's services, as they are offered via tools and applications that are already used by the audience. Moreover, the link between library and users is strengthened, as the audience's needs are totally covered, thus creating a feeling of loyalty to the library. It should also be borne in mind that the large number of such channels gives a wider public access to the library's services in a shorter time, contributing to virality. And in general the institution's visibility and reputation in the web ecosystem are enhanced. As part of the process of constructing the on-line brand of Spanish university libraries, the services they offer can be identified under a unified banner in an environment where the growing use of mobile devices facilitates simultaneous access via various channels. However, this means our objectives both for the web services offered and the development of the on-line brand need to be associated with this identity, while the library in question must avoid becoming lost among all the content offered by competitors. This research is intended to show the need for Spanish university libraries to create an on-line brand, in the light of the possible existence of a linear correlation between the increase in the use of certain web environments (social media, apps and specific tools, which can only be viewed on mobile devices), as indicated by appropriate metrics, and the decrease in the use of the website tool, also measurable in this way. It also aims to compare the influence of tactical objectives such as popularity, activity, social perception, commitment and conversion on the possible increase in the use of these web environments and the possible decrease in the use of the website. This quantitative descriptive research proposes to compile information on the number of Spanish university libraries for which the tactical objectives of popularity, activity, social perception, commitment and conversion are pursued more effectively in the above web environments than via the website, when promoting the visibility of the libraries and their brand identity. We also try to predict, using simple regression analysis, whether the increase in the number of libraries where the use of web environments is growing coincides with an increase in the number of libraries where the use of the website is decreasing. Of the possible combinations between the website and each of the web environments analysed, the variables giving the highest Pearson linear correlation coefficient were the number of libraries where the use of each of the web tools grew and the number of libraries the use of whose website decreased. There was a strong positive correlation as both increased in parallel. Using the tabulated data for both variables, and in order to verify the prediction, in the regression formula: , the variable x, (number of libraries where the number of visits to each of the web environments increased) was replaced by a random value in the range between the minimum and maximum tabulated values for both variables. The process was carried out with two values in order to obtain two pairs of data (x, y), which were used as coordinates, so that results falling on the regression line for these data would confirm the hypothesis of an increase in both variables, as was the case. To verify the validity of the prediction line in the regression equation, the value of the variable x was replaced by its average, giving the average value of the variable y as a result. When these two values were added to the regression line, the point at which they met also fell on the line. Finally the coefficient of determination was measured, with a view to confirming that the variable for the number of libraries where the use of each of the web tools increased accounted for the variable for the number of libraries where the use of the website decreased in almost 100% of cases. One of the conclusions of this research is that it confirms the prediction that a greater increase in the number of Spanish university libraries using REBIUN where the number of accesses or visits to the website between 2004 and 2012 inclusive fell matches a greater increase in the number of Spanish university libraries using REBIUN where the number of visits and downloads using the web environments analysed in the same period rose. The results for Popularity, Influence, Commitment and Conversion were considered neutral, as it was not possible to establish a greater or lesser predominance for these indicators in relation to the web environments analysed compared to the website. However, the result for Activity showed a higher level of influence with the web environments than in the case of the website.

Abstract:
Social Sciences have a relevant importance, because they assist individuals to make sense of the social world and to situate their ideas, fears, interests, values and relationships at the center of the social processes they reflect and configure. However, a diagnosis made in the main doctoral programs of the Pedagogical Sciences in Cuba revealed deficiencies and deficiencies that led to the formulation of the scientific problem of the present investigation: insufficiencies in the process of interpretation of the social reality, in relation to its qualitative and complex nature, which limits the scientific performance of professionals. The object of the research is, therefore, the scientific research process of the Social Sciences and its field of action: the dynamics of information processing in the Social Sciences research process. The main research results are: a model of the dynamics of information processing in social investigations, which becomes an integrative didactic method for such processing, as a theoretical contribution, and a system of methodological procedures for processing information in the social investigations, as a practical contribution. It is revealed as essential regularity, the integrating logic between the understanding of the validity and reliability of social information and the systematization of the synthesis and the concretion of this information, consistent with a qualitative and quantitative processing of it. The pertinence and scientific feasibility of the research results was assessed satisfactorily through a consultation with experts and the corroboration of the partial application of the system of methodological procedures.
