Abstract:
Kemampuan kuantitatif dibutuhkan calon guru biologi dalam memahami fenomena biologis. Hal pertama yang perlu dilakukan dalam menyelesaikan masalah ini adalah perlunya eksplorasi kondisi kecemasan matematika calon guru biologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi tingkat kecemasan matematika calon guru biologi dan perbedaannya berdasarkan gender dan angkatan masuk kuliah. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuisioner AMAS (Abbreviated Math Anxiety Scale). Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistic deskriptif, uji anova satu arah, dan uji Kruskal-Wallis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan calon guru biologi memiliki tingkat kecemasan matematika dan kecemasan belajar matematika berdasarkan angkatan dan gender berada pada kategori sedang. Sementara kecemasan evaluasi matematika berada pada kategori tinggi berdasarkan angkatan dan gender. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan kecemasan matematika, kecemasan belajar matematika, kecemasan atas evaluasi matematika berdasarkan gender dan angkatan. Hasil penelitian ini layak menjadi perhatian dalam pendidikan biologi bahwa perlu dikonstruksi suatu desain didaktis ataupun perubahan kurikulum yang mendorong integrasi dan interdisiplinari matematika dan biologi sehingga kecemasan matematika dapat berkurang. Quantitative ability is needed by prospective biology teachers in understanding biological phenomena. The first thing that needs to be done in solving this problem is the need to explore the condition of pre-service biology teachers’ mathematics anxiety. This study aims to explore the mathematics anxiety level of pre-service biology teachers and their differences by gender and cohort. Data were collected using the AMAS (Abbreviated Math Anxiety Scale) questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA test, and Kruskal-Wallis test. The results showed that pre-service biology teachers had mathematics anxiety levels and mathematics learning anxiety based on cohort and gender were in the medium category. Meanwhile, mathematics evaluation anxiety is in the high category based on cohort and gender. The results also showed that there was no difference between mathematics anxiety, mathematics learning anxiety, anxiety over mathematics evaluation based on gender and cohort. The results of this study deserve attention in biology education that it is necessary to construct a didactic design or curriculum change that encourages integration and interdisciplinary mathematics and biology so that mathematics anxiety can be reduced.

Abstract:
The characteristics of biology education students in lectures must be known to design better lectures. This study aims to analyze and determine students' characteristics in the Biology Education Study Program enrolled in basic biology courses at Universitas Labuhanbatu. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. A total of 30 first-semester biology education students were sampled from the population of first-semester biology education students. The tool for data collection was interviewed, and the strategy for data collection was the distribution of a questionnaire. The results of this study indicated that Biology Education students' characteristics enrolled in basic biology courses at Universitas Labuhanbatu were as follows: (1) Confidence in analyzing and understanding basic biology materials 47.20%, (2) Discipline 76.66%, (3) Honesty 48.66%, (4) Responsible 81.86%, and (5) Social care 69.66%. According to the results of this study, the student's character in the education system is one of the main aims for supporting a learning process in students so that they can become the next generation of individuals with excellent character souls.Abstrak Karakteristik mahasiswa pendidikan biologi dalam perkuliahan perlu diketahui guna mendesain perkuliahan yang lebih baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat menganalisis dan mengetahui karakter yang ada pada mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi pada mata kuliah biologi dasar di Universitas Labuhanbatu. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kualitatif deskriptif, Populasi yang digunakan adalah mahasiswa pendidikan biologi semester satu dengan pengambilan sampel total sampling yang berjumlah 30 mahasiswa pendidikan biologi, Instrumen dalam pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara serta teknik dalam pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian angket. Hasil dalam penelitian ini memperoleh hasil bahwa karakter pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi pada mata kuliah biologi dasar di Universitas Labuhanbatu memperoleh hasil sebagai berikut bahwa perolehan hasil data berupa: (1) Percaya diri menganalisis dan memahami materi biologi dasar 47,20%, (2) Disiplin 76,66%, (3) Kejujuran 48,66%, (4) Bertanggungjawab 81,86%, (5) Peduli sosial 69,66%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa karakter pada mahasiswa dalam sistem pendidikkan merupakan salah satu prioritas yang sangat penting dalam menunjang suatu proses pembelajaran yang ada pada diri mahasiswa agar dapat menjadi generasi penerus yang terbentuk jiwa karakter yang baik.

Abstract:
A model is a key element in the daily practice of biologists, students, and teachers in learning biology. The existence of models, both physical and non-physical models, is crucial in learning implementation. Therefore, this article aims to explain the importance of the nature of model (NoM) in learning biology. This study used the literature review method. The literature review contains reviews, summaries, and the author's thoughts on several library sources. Thus, this study provides a description, summary, and information about the nature of models, especially in biology learning. Based on the literature study results, the study of the nature of models in the biology class is on the implementation of learning, teaching materials, and assessments. Models can be divided into types and characteristics that become alternative solutions to represent an object since biology studies a lot about living objects.Abstrak Model merupakan elemen kunci dalam praktik sehari-hari bagi para ahli biologi, siswa guru dalam pembelajaran biologi. Keberadaan model baik itu model fisik maupun nonfisik sangat penting dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penyusunan artikel ini adalah untuk menjelaskan pentingnya hakikat model dalam pembelajaran biologi. Kajian ini menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan (literature review). Studi kepustakaan berisi ulasan, rangkuman dan pemikiran penulis tentang beberapa sumber pustaka. Dengan demikian, kajian ini memberikan deskripsi, ringkasan dan informasi mengenai Nature of Models khususnya dalam pembelajaran biologi. Berdasarkan hasil studi literatur, kajian Nature of Models dalam kelas biologi terdapat pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran, bahan ajar, dan asesmen. Model dapat dibagi ke dalam tipe dan karakteristik yang menjadi solusi alternatif untuk merepresentasikan suatu objek, karena ilmu biologi banyak mempelajari tentang objek-objek kehidupan.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine prospective biology teachers’ perceptions and attitudes towards Instagram as a potential edutainment tool in biology learning. The study involved 87 prospective biology teachers from 4 public universities in Indonesia. Participants answered 15 closed questions and three open questions. Then data were analysed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results demonstrated that prospective biology teachers had highly positive perceptions of Instagram as an edutainment tool in biology learning. Respondents strongly agree that Instagram is easier to use than other learning platforms to create and upload learning content. Prospective biology teachers’ attitudes show that they agree to use Instagram as an edutainment tool in biology learning. The use of Instagram also has the potential to increase motivation, interaction, and creativity and is enjoyable in learning biology. Key words: Instagram, edutainment, perceptions, prospective biology teacher Abstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji persepsi dan sikap calon guru biologi terhadap Instagram sebagai sarana edutainment yang potensial dalam pembelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini melibatkan 87 calon guru biologi dari 4 perguruan tinggi negeri di Indonesia. Partisipan menjawab 15 pertanyaan tertutup dan tiga pertanyaan terbuka. Kemudian data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa calon guru biologi memiliki persepsi yang sangat positif terhadap Instagram sebagai sarana edutainment dalam pembelajaran biologi. Responden sangat setuju bahwa Instagram lebih mudah digunakan dibandingkan platform pembelajaran lain untuk membuat dan mengunggah konten pembelajaran. Sikap calon guru biologi menunjukkan bahwa mereka setuju untuk menggunakan Instagram sebagai sarana edutainment dalam pembelajaran biologi. Penggunaan Instagram juga berpotensi untuk meningkatkan motivasi, interaksi, dan kreativitas serta menyenangkan dalam pembelajaran biologi. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh persepsi siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi, ekspektasi karir, dan regulasi diri terhadap hasil belajar biologi. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian ex-post facto dengan pendekatan jalur. Variabel eksogenus dalam penelitian ini adalah persepsi siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi dan ekspektasi karir, sedangkan variabel endogenusnya adalah regulasi diri dan hasil belajar biologi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja pada siswa kelas X MIA dengan besar sampel 43 orang siswa. Data persepsi siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi, ekspektasi karir, dan regulasi diri dikumpulkan dengan angket, sedangkan data hasil belajar diperoleh dari nilai ulangan harian dan penilaian akhir semester. Data dianalisis dengan analisis jalur (pathway analysis). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) ada pengaruh yang signifikan persepsi siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi terhadap regulasi diri, 2) ada pengaruh yang signifikan ekspektasi karir terhadap regulasi diri 3) ada pengaruh langsung persepsi siswa pada mata pelajaran biologi terhadap hasil belajar biologi 4) ada pengaruh langsung ekspektasi karir terhadap hasil belajar biologi 5) ada pengaruh tidak langsung persepsi siswa terhadap hasil belajar biologi melalui regulasi diri, dan 6) ada pengaruh tidak langsung ekspektasi karir terhadap hasil belajar biologi melalui regulasi diri. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan hasil belajar biologi dapat diupayakan dengan peningkatan persepsi siswa, ekspektasi karir, dan regulasi diri.Kata kunci: ekspektasi karir, hasil belajar biologi, regulasi diri, persepsi AbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of students' perceptions on biology subjects, career expectations and self-regulation towards biology learning outcomes. This research was an ex-post facto with pathway approach. Exogenous variables in this study were students' perceptions on biology subjects and career expectations, while endogenous variables were self-regulation and biology learning outcomes. This research was conducted at SMA Laboratorium Undiksha Singaraja in X Grade Natural Science students with total sample were 43 students. The data in this study were collected using student perception questionnaires on biology subjects, career expectations, and self-regulation. While learning outcomes data was collected from tests and final test. Data was analyzed by pathway analysis. The result show 1) there are effects of students 'perception on biology subject toward self-regulation, 2) there are effects of career expectation toward self-regulation, 3) there are direct effects of students' perception on biology subject toward biology learning outcomes, 4) there are direct effects of career expectations toward biology learning outcomes, 5) there are indirect effects of students' perception on biology subject toward biology learning outcomes through self-regulation, and 6) there are indirect effects of career expectations toward biology learning outcomes through self-regulation. So it can be conclude that the improvement of biology learning outcomes can be pursue from increase of student perception , carrer expectation, and self-regulation.Keywords : career expectations, learning outcomes, self-regulation, studens’ perception

Abstract:
This research is a type of descriptive research with the aim of knowing the critical thinking ability profile of prospective biology teachers at the University of Papua. The population in this study were all prospective biology teacher students at the University of Papua. The sampling technique is purposive sampling, namely sampling based on a specific purpose. The number of respondents was 42 prospective biology teachers. The instrument is in the form of essay questions. Based on research data analysis, the average proportion of critical thinking skills for biology teacher candidates is 55.03. Furthermore, the proportions based on critical thinking criteria are 10% uncritical, 53.33% less critical, 36.67% critical and 2.38% very critical. This in general it can be interpreted that the critical thinking skills of prospective biology teachers at the University of Papua are in the less critical category, this is very important to be empowered as a provision to face competition in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.Keywords: Analysis, Critical Thinking Skills, Prospective Biology TeachersAbstrak Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui profil kemampuan berpikir kritis calon guru biologi di Universitas Papua. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa calon guru biologi di Universitas Papua. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cara Purposive Sampling yakni pengambilan sampel berdasarkan tujuan tertentu. Jumlah responden sebanyak 42 calon guru biologi. Instrumen berupa soal essay. Berdasarkan analisis data hasil penelitian rata-rata persentase keterampilan berpikir kritis calon guru biologi yaitu 55,03. Selanjutnya persentase berdasarkan kriteria berpikir kritis yaitu kategori tidak kritis 10%, kurang kritis 53,33%, kritis 36,67 % dan sangat kritis 2,38%. Dengan demikian secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis calon guru biologi Universitas Papua berada pada kategori kurang kritis, hal ini kiranya sangat penting untuk diberdayakan sebagai bekal untuk menghadapi persaingan di era revolusi industry 4.0.Kata Kunci: Analisis, Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis, Calon Guru Biologi

Abstract:
Online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic is a choice so that learning can continue. However, in its implementation, various obstacles were found. These obstacles are caused by poor internet networks, limited internet quotas, and the availability of teaching materials that do not support the online learning process. Therefore the objectives of this study are to describe: 1) The validity of the biology e-module, 2) The practicality of the biology e-module, and 3) Students’ responses to the biology e-module based on I-SETS using eXeLearning on bacterial material. The method used in this study is the research and development method with the ADDIE model. The result shows that: 1) The average validity results of biology e-modules, include the material validity of 94,5% (very valid) and the media validity of 95% (very valid), 2) The practicality of the biology e-module was obtained at 94% (very practical), and 3) The average student’s responses to the biology e-module was obtained at 85% (very good). So, it can be concluded that the biology e-module that has been successfully developed can be used in online biology learning. Pembelajaran daring selama pandemi COVID-19 menjadi alternatif pilihan agar pembelajaran tetap dapat berlangsung. Akan tetapi dalam pelaksanaannya ditemukan berbagai kendala. Kendala-kendala tersebut disebabkan oleh jaringan internet yang buruk, kuota internet yang terbatas, dan ketersediaan bahan ajar yang kurang mendukung proses pembelajaran daring. Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) Validitas e-modul biologi, 2) Praktikalitas e-modul biologi, dan 3) Respons siswa terhadap e-modul biologi berbasis I-SETS menggunakan eXeLearning pada materi bakteri. Metode yang digunakan dalam studi ini adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model ADDIE. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Rata-rata validitas e-modul biologi, meliputi validitas materi sebesar 94,5% (sangat valid) dan validitas media sebesar 95% (sangat valid), 2) Praktikalitas e-modul biologi sebesar 94% (sangat praktis), dan 3) Rata-rata respons siswa terhadap e-modul biologi sebesar 85% (sangat baik). Maka dapat disimpulkan e-modul biologi yang berhasil dikembangkan dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi secara daring.

Kegiatan pengabdian telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 15 Oktober 2019 yang bertempat di Laboratorium SMA Negeri 1 Way Jepara, dengan diikuti oleh 26 orang peserta guru biologi SMA. Hasil evaluasi diperoleh hasil dan manfaat dari kegiatan pengabdian ini diantaranya adalah meningkatkan keterampilan guru- guru SMA dalam pembuatan preparat smear darah dan preparat awetan biologi sebagai media pembelajaran biologi. Kegiatan diharapkan kelak dapat membantu guru-guru biologi dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran IPA sehingga mutu pembelajaran IPA dapat lebih meningkat.Workshop and Training on Making Biology Preparations for High School Teachers in East LampungAbstractThe workshop and training in making biological preparations for high school teachers aims to train teachers to make biological preparations that are important in the implementation of biology practices in schools. The low problem-solving ability in understanding biology lessons makes biology lessons difficult for some prospective teachers to learn. This study aims to determine the contribution of science process skills to higher-order thinking skills. This study uses quantitative methods to analyse the HOTS skills of prospective biology teachers. The quantitative descriptive method used in this study. Data collected from 59 respondents through the Saturated Sampling technique. The instrument used was 54 multiple choice questions with indicators of science process skills and higher-order thinking skills. The data obtained is processed quantitatively with Microsoft Excel. Prospective Biology teachers have the contribution of science process skills with a high level of ability of 13% and a contribution is known. This research proves that the contribution of science process skills to prospective biology teachers to higher-level thinking skills has low categorisation. Rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam memahami pelajaran biologi menyebabkan pelajaran biologi menjadi sulit dipelajari oleh sebagian calon guru. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi keterampilan proses sains terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif untuk menganalisa keterampilan HOTS calon guru biologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah diskriptif kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan sampel sebanyak 59 mahasiswa melalui teknik Sampling Jenuh. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa 54 soal pilihan ganda dengan indikator keterampilan proses sains dan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Data yang diperoleh diolah secara kuantitatif dengan Microsoft Excel. Calon guru Biologi memiliki hasil kontribusi keterampilan proses sains dengan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi sebesar 13% dan diketahui adanya kontribusi. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa kontribusi keterampilan proses sains calon guru biologi terhadap kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi memiliki kategori rendah. Terjadinya Pandemi Covid-19 yang menyebabkan perubahan pola pembelajaran secara offline menjadi pembelajaran online, sehingga memberikan tantangan tersendiri bagi dunia Pendidikan tinggi, baik bagi mahasiswa maupun bagi dosen. Sebagai upaya peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran Biologi Dasar secara online, maka dinilai penting untuk menganalisis pengalaman mahasiswa selama mengikuti pembelajaran online Biologi Dasar, khususnya terkait jenis sumber belajar yang digunakan dan kendala yang dialami selama pembelajaran di masa Pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis sumber belajar yang dimanfaatkan mahasiswa selama pembelajaran Biologi Dasar secara online, kendala yang dialami mahasiswa selama pembelajaran Biologi Dasar secara online, dan persepsi mahasiswa terkait potensi penggunaan E-Module Biologi Dasar untuk mendukung pembelajaran online Biologi Dasar. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Jurusan Biologi Angkatan 2021 yang telah mengikuti pembelajaran Biologi Dasar secara online. Sebanyak 60 mahasiswa berpartisipasi secagai responden dengan mengisi kuesioner yang diedarkan melalui google form. Hasil analisis data terkait pengalaman mahasiswa dalam Pembelajaran Biologi Dasar secara online menunjukkan bahwa jenis sumber belajar yang paling umum digunakan oleh responden adalah Buku Fisik/Text Book (47%), Internet (43%), dan Powerpoint (42%). Responden umumnya menggunakan satu atau dua jenis sumber belajar, hanya sedikit responden yang menggunakan lebih dari dua sumber belajar. Jaringan yang tidak stabil (40%) dan kesulitan memahami materi yang disampaikan secara online (21%) merupakan kendala yang paling banyak dialami oleh responden selama pembelajaran Biologi Dasar secara online. The occurrence of the Covid-19 Pandemic which caused the change in learning patterns from offline to online learning posed its own challenges for the world of higher education, both for students and for lecturers. As an effort to improve the quality of online General Biology learning, it is considered important to analyze students' experiences while participating in online Basic Biology learning, especially regarding the types of learning resources used and the obstacles experienced during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Therefore, this study aims to find out 1) Types of learning resources used by students during online General Biology learning, 2) Constraints experienced by students during online Basic Biology learning, and 3) Student perceptions regarding the potential use of General Biology E-Module to support online Biology learning. The population of this study were students majoring in Biology Class of 2021 who had taken online Basic Biology lessons. As many as 60 students participated as respondents by filling out a questionnaire which was distributed online via the Google form. The results of data analysis related to students' experiences in learning Basic Biology online show that the most common types of learning resources used by respondents are Physical Books/Text Books (47%), Internet (43%), and Powerpoint (42%). Respondents generally use one or two types of learning resources, only a few respondents use more than two learning sources. Unstable network (40%) and difficulty understanding material delivered online (21%) are the most common obstacles experienced by respondents during online General Biology learning.

One of the communication skills that must be possessed by prospective biology teachers is oral communication skills. Communication learning plays an important role. The aim of this research is to know the oral communication skills of prospective biology teachers through distance learning. This study uses True Experimental Design with a type of one shoot case study design. A research sample of 30 students of Wiralodra University Biology Education was randomly selected. The results of the data analysis showed that the communication skills of prospective biology teachers in distance learning using the Moodle platform were in the good category with a percentage of 81.8%. 204This paper presents results of study on the development of professional training program participants’ personal perceptions and preferences toward biology content which were used as their research subject along the program. This longitudinal study was carried out in one of universities which conducted professional training program. As many as 23 participants have an undergraduate degree in biology and did have not educational research experience. The main data source for this sequential exploratory research design was participants’ classroom action research document which was analyzed along the program. Questionnaire on biological content capabilities was used as an additional instrument to identify participant’s personal perception. Results showed that biology content themes used are always changing. Personal perception of participants according to biology content also varied. In addition, biology content chosen as research focus was not related with the level of complexity of the content and participants self-efficacy.Keywords: biology content, teacher professional training program, research focus ABSTRAKArtikel ini menyajikan hasil penelitian tentang perkembangan preferensi dan persepsi personal peserta program pendidikan profesi guru. In the course of physics in the biology program should be equipped application of concepts and principles of physics in the field of biology. It is very important to facilitate students in mastering and enjoying physics courses. In this study, documentation study of biology books in the subjects of General Biology in 1st semester. Based on the analysis there are application of the concept of style in the subject material of General Biology namely: capillarity style on xylem and phloem; Force on muscle tissue; And food peristaltic style. The results of this study are useful as a basis for the preparation of physics-oriented teaching materials of biological science, so that biology students are expected to be interested in physics. As a recommendation that analysis of the application of concepts and principles of physics in biology must be done in a continuous manner. Keywords: Style concept application. Dalam perkuliahan fisika pada prodi biologi seharusnya dilengkapi aplikasi konsep dan prinsip-prinsip fisika dalam bidang biologi. Hal tersebut sangat penting untuk mempermudah mahasiswa dalam menguasai dan menyukai mata kuliah fisika. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan studi dokumentasi terhadap buku biologi pada mata kuliah Biologi Umum pada semester 1. Berdasarkan analisis terdapat aplikasi konsep gaya dalam materi mata kuliah Biologi Umum yaitu : gaya kapilaritas pada xilem dan floem; gaya pada jaringan otot; dan gaya peristaltik makanan. Hasil studi ini bermanfaat sebagai dasar pijakan dalam penyusunan bahan ajar fisika yang berorientasi ilmu hayati, sehingga mahasiswa biologi diharapkan tertarik terhadap fisika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan e-modul materi sistem pertahanan tubuh dengan instagram sebagai bahan ajar biologi dan potensi efektivitas e-modul guna mengembangkan keterampilan argumentasi siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian Research and Development dengan tahap Analysis, Design, dan Development. Subyek penelitian terdiri atas dua orang ahli materi biologi, dua orang ahli media pembelajaran biologi, satu guru biologi, dan 30 siswa kelas XI IPA di salah satu SMA di DI Yogyakarta. Data penelitian meliputi nilai kelayakan e-modul yang dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen penilaian ahli materi biologi, ahli media, dan guru biologi, serta data kemampuan argumentasi siswa yang diperoleh dari soal pretest dan postes. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul layak digunakan berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi biologi yaitu sebesar 92%, ahli media sebesar 81.5 %, dan hasil penilaian guru biologi yaitu sebesar 77.5% untuk indikator kelayakan modul tergolong layak. E-modul ini potensial efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan argumentasi siswa berdasarkan nilai gain score sebesar 0.54 yang berarti keterampilan argumentasi siswa setelah belajar menggunakan e-modul mengalami peningkatan dengan kategori sedang.This research aims to determine the feasibility of an e-module developed using Instagram as a biology instructional media on the topic of immune system and to find out its potential of effectiveness to develop students' argumentation skills. This research was conducted based on Research and Development framework through Analysis, Design, and Development stages. The subjects of the study were two biology experts, two biology instructional media experts, a biology teacher, and 30 grade-11 students of a high school in Yogyakarta province. The research data include the value judgements of the e-module feasibility which were collected using expert judgement sheets for biology experts, instructional media experts, and biology teachers, while data of students' argumentation skill obtained by pretest and posttest. All data were analyzed descriptively. The findings show that based on the feasibility judgements by 92% of biology experts reviews, 81.5% media experts reviews, and 77.5% of teacher review towards the feasibility criteria it is noted that the developed e-module is feasible to be used in biology instruction. Thus, the e-module is noticeably effective in fostering students’ argumentation skills based on the gain score obtained by 0.54 which means reached to medium category of students’ argumentation skill achievement.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan web pembelajaran biologi berbasis Socio-scientific issues (SSI) untuk diimplementasikan dalam pembelajaran biologi di SMA. Metode yang digunakan adalah research & development. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 2 ahli materi, 2 ahli media, 2 guru biologi, dan 20 siswa SMA. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen penilaian dan angket. Data kualitatif dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif sebagai bahan revisi media dan data kuatitatif menggunakan persentase untuk penilaian kelayakan. Hasil dari penelitian pengembangan ini adalah web pembelajaran biologi berbasis SSI topik sistem pernapasan untuk mengembangkan literasi kesehatan siswa SMA kelas XI. Web pembelajaran yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria kelayakan berdasarkan aspek konsep esensial materi biologi, informasi kajian biologi, bahasa kajian biologi, organisasi pembelajaran, dan operasional sajian web berdasarkan hasil penilaian dari ahli materi, ahli media, dan guru biologi. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian tersebut dapat disimpulkan web pembelajaran yang dkembangkan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi. Searching the literature or research on learning practices oriented towards health literacy, especially through science-biology subjects in Indonesia, showed that the development and application of instructional design has not been widely produced. This study aimed to determine the feasibility of a biology learning web based on Socio-scientific issues (SSI) to be implemented in biology learning in high school.The method used was research & development. The study subjects consisted of 2 material experts, 2 media experts, 2 biology teachers, and 20 high school students. Data collection was carried out using assessment instruments and questionnaires. Qualitative data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively as media revision material and quantitative data using percentages for feasibility assessment.The result of this development research is a biology learning web based on SSI on the topic of the respiratory system to develop health literacy for high school students. The developed learning web has the feasibility criteria based on aspects of the essential concepts of biological material, information and language of biological studies, learning organization, and web presentation operation. It was Based on the results of assessments from material experts, media experts, biology teachers and limited trial test. Based on the results of the assessment, it can be concluded that the learning web developed is suitable for use in biology learning.

The results showed that biology teachers have a good self-efficacy on their TPACK. Biology teachers are confident that they will carry out practical work successfully during this pandemic crisis. Biology teachers tend to show better self-efficacy in content knowledge than knowledge related to technology. However, they generally still show enthusiasm to increase their technological knowledge. The results indicate sustained integration of technology in learning even after the COVID-19 crisis, for example, when blended learning is in the future. This research may be used to develop a professional program to improve teachers' TPACK. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi self-efficacy guru Biologi terhadap TPACK pada kegiatan praktikum selama pembelajaran jarak jauh. Metode deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan melibatkan 42 guru yang tergabung sebagai anggota musyawarah guru mata pelajaran Biologi di Kota Garut dan dipilih secara acak. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner penilaian diri untuk mengeksplorasi self-efficacy yang dimiliki guru. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru Biologi memiliki self-efficacy yang baik pada TPACK mereka. Guru Biologi percaya diri bahwa mereka bisa melaksanakan kegiatan praktikum dengan sukses selama pandemi COVID-19. Guru Biologi cenderung menunjukkan self-efficacy yang lebih baik dalam hal pengetahuan konten, jika dibandingkan dengan pengetahuan yang berkaitan dengan teknologi. Tetapi umumnya tetap menunjukkan antusias untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan teknologinya. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan potensi integrasi teknologi yang berkelanjutan dalam praktikum berbasis online terutama ketika blended learning menjadi keharusan setelah melewati masa krisis pandemi COVID-19. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan dasar untuk mengembangkan program profesionalisme guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan TPACK.

Multiple regression techniques are used as data analysis. The results showed a significant effect between scientific literacy on mastering basic concepts of biology, critical thinking skills on mastering basic concepts of biology, as well as scientific literacy and critical thinking skills together on mastering basic concepts of biology. Biology is a science subject which on the one hand becomes a favorite subject for many students, but on the other hand has many topics that are considered difficult by many students. The aims of this study was to map the difficult topics of biology in senior high school based on the opinion of undergraduate students. This present study used survey research design. The participant of this study was the undergraduate student of class of 2017 majoring in Biology in one of the state universities in Malang. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire of difficulty topics on high school biology subject and descriptive analysis was used as data analysis techniques. The result of this study was Genetics, Metabolism, and Cell Division were the first, second, and third most difficult topics in XII grade. The Immune System, the Coordination System, and the Plant Tissue were the first, second, and third most difficult topic in XI grade. Protista, Monera, and Virus were the first, second, and third most difficult topics in X grade. Genetics, Immune System, and Metabolism also selected into three topics of all grades that were considered most difficult by undergraduate students majoring in Biology. Biologi merupakan mata pelajaran sains yang di satu sisi menjadi mata pelajaran favorit bagi banyak siswa, namun di sisi lain memiliki banyak topik yang dianggap sulit oleh banyak siswa. Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk memetakan topik-topik biologi di Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) yang dianggap sulit berdasarkan pendapat mahasiswa-mahasiswa S1. Studi ini menggunakan desain penelitian survai. Partisipan pada studi ini adalah mahasiswa S1 angkatan 2017 Jurusan Biologi di salah satu universitas negeri di Malang. Instrumen yang digunakan pada studi ini adalah angket topik-topik sulit pada mata pelajaran Biologi SMA dan analisis deskriptif digunakan sebagai teknik analisis data. Attitude is a tendency to behave and may be viewed as an individual's response to a stimulus. Although attitudes toward biology, particularly the human circulatory system, can be represented by the acceptance or rejection of certain biological objects. This research aims to determine high school students' attitudes at SMA Negeri 2 Bilah Hulu towards biology subjects, particularly the material on the human circulatory system. This research employed a qualitative strategy and descriptive approaches. The findings of this survey indicate that the indicator of pleasure in studying biology is 78.30%, the indication of curiosity is 82.92%, the indicator of interest in extending biology time is 80.90%, and the indicator of interest in a career in biology is 79.89%. This research concludes that students have the highest positive attitude toward the indicator of curiosity, while they have the least positive attitude toward the indicator of enjoyment in learning biology. Good curiosity from students is a good foundation in the learning process; it's just that innovative learning activities that are more interactive are needed if you want students to be more interested in learning biology.Abstrak Sikap ialah kecenderungan dalam berprilaku dan dapat diartikan sebagai ungkapan seseorang terhadap suatu stimulus. Sedangkan sikap terhadap biologi khususnya mata pelajaran sistem peredaran darah manusia dapat diungkapkan melalui perasaan/perilaku menerima atau menolak terhadap objek biologi tersebut. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui sikap peserta didik terhadap mata pelajaran biologi khususnya pada materi sistem peredaran darah manusia pada tingkatan sekolah menengan atas lebih tepatnya di SMA Negeri 2 Bilah Hulu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu pada indikator kesenangan dalam belajar biologi dengan persentase sebesar 78.30%, indikator rasa ingin tahu dengan persentase sebesar 82.92%, kemudian pada indikator ketertarikan memperbanyak waktu biologi dengan persentase sebesar 80.90%, dan pada indikator ketertarikan berkarir dibidang biologi dengan persentase sebesar 79.89%. Adapun kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu bahwa sikap positif peserta didik paling banyak pada indikator rasa ingin tahu, sedangkan sikap positif peserta didik paling rendah ada pada indikator kesenangan dalam belajar biologi. Rasa ingin tahu yang baik dari peserta didik adalah pondasi yang bagus dalam proses pembelajaran, hanya saja diperlukan inovasi kegiatan belajar yang lebih interaktif jika ingin peserta didik menjadi lebih tertarik untuk belajar biologi.

This study aimed to determine basic teaching skill level of pre service Biology teachers in one of private university in Indramayu in terms of their skills in opening, probing question, stimulating, conducting core activity and closing teaching activity. Subjects were 90 Biology Education Program. This study use ex post facto approach with quantitative descriptive research methods. Data were collected using teacher observation and peer assessment sheet. The instruments used were teaching assessment rubric and questionnaire data. The data obtained were processed and analyzed in the tendency table to determine criterias in describing pre service Biology teachers’ basic teaching skill mastery. Result showed that pre service biology teachers were sufficiently skillful in opening, probing question, conducting core activity, and closing teaching activity whereas in giving learning stimulus they were deemed skillful. There has been substantial research into terminology as an issue in learning science, especially against the backdrop of concerns over school literacy in science and as sometimes reflected in the poor performance of high school students in assessment tasks. Relevant research has emphasized issues such as lexical load, complexity and metaphor. Variation in the use of terminology has, however, been relatively under researched, although there is evidence that terminology use does vary within and across high school textbooks of science. Drawing on an eclectic theoretical framework comprising transitivity analysis (Halliday 1994), legitimation code theory semantics (Maton 2013a), and the context-specific term model (Gerzymisch-Arbogast 2008), this article identifies and classifies variations in the terminology employed in three high school textbooks of biology in Nigeria. It then determines what impact assessment tasks which use terms that differ from those employed in students’ study materials have on students. Examples are found of variant terminology impeding science literacy and task performance, even though there is reason to suspect such variation might in fact have been leveraged to enhance cognition.

The research aims is to develop biology teaching material integrated religious value on vertebrate subject which fulfill feasibility, readability and effectiveness.The design of the research use Fenrich Instructional Development Cycle Model contains six phase; planning, design, development, implementation, analysis, evaluation, and revision. On this development, the assessment was done by 2 biology lecturers, Islamic lecturer, and biology teacher. The objects of the study are 30 students of X SMA Amanatul Ummah Surabaya. The analysis result and discussion show the average score of feasibility counted by the 2 biology lectures, Islamic lecturer, and biology teacher toward the developed-handbook is 93,1% on the contains goodness, 95,8% on language goodness, and 85,1% on serving goodness component. The students give positive response toward the teaching material that has been developed. This teaching material have low degree or difficulty by 11,1%. The average percentage of readability is 95%. Reliability of teaching plan effectiveness is 98,51%.Based on analysis result, the conclusion is biology teaching material integrated religious value on vertebrate subject which fulfill feasibility, readability and effectiveness. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar biologi terintegrasi imtaq pada materi vertebrata yang memenuhi kelayakan, keterbacaan, dan keterlaksanaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan Model Siklus Pengembangan Instruksional Fenrich yang meliputi enam fase yaitu fase perencanaan, perancangan, pengembangan, implementasi, analisis, evaluasi dan revisi. Pada tahap pengembangan, dilakukan penilaian oleh 2 orang dosen biologi, dosen agama, dan guru biologi. Pengambilan data dilakukan kepada 30 siswa kelas X SMA Amanatul Ummah Surabaya. Hasil analisis dan pembahasan menunjukkan nilai rata-rata hasil telaah dua dosen biologi, dosen agama, dan guru biologi terhadap bahan ajar yang dikembangkan adalah sebesar 93,1% pada kelayakan isi, 95,8% pada kelayakan kebahasaan, dan 85,1% pada komponen kelayakan penyajian. Bahan ajar yang dikembangkan memiliki tingkat kesulitan yang sangat rendah yaitu sebesar 11,1%. Nilai rata-rata persentase tingkat keterbacaan bahan ajar adalah 95%. Reliabilitas instrumen keterlaksanaan RPP adalah 98,51%. Siswa merespon positif terhadap buku ajar yang dikembangkan.Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar biologi terintegrasi imtaq pada materi vertebrata memenuhi kelayakan, keterbacaan, dan keterlaksanaan.

Abstract:
The obstacles in the biology learning process are curriculum implementation, syllabus development, competence, material mastery, learning methods, laboratories, learning media, teaching aids, learning evaluation, and learning motivation. This study aims to identify the obstacles faced by teachers in the biology learning process at SMAN 1 Rantau Utara, Labuhanbatu Regency using descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research data were obtained by distributing questionnaires and interviews with statements about barriers in the study of biology. Data is processed in percentages. The diagram results show high walls from 78% of laboratories, 76% of the curriculum, 70% of methods, media, and evaluation, and 67% of teacher competence. Overall, the data collection results show that with high barriers, obstacles to implementing the biology learning process cover an average of 72%. The results of this study can be used as a reference for teachers in schools, especially biology to design learning activities that further stimulate students' creative processes. In addition, it is hoped that external education stakeholders in Indonesia will focus more on implementing better policies.Abstrak Hambatan dalam proses pembelajaran biologi berupa penerapan kurikulum, pengembangan silabus, kompetensi, penguasaan materi, metode pembelajaran, laboratorium, media pembelajaran, alat peraga, evaluasi pembelajaran, dan motivasi belajar. Hasil diagram menunjukkan hambatan tinggi dari 78% laboratorium, 76% kurikulum, 70% metode, media dan evaluasi, kompetensi guru 67%. Secara keseluruhan, hasil pendataan menunjukkan bahwa dengan hambatan tinggi, hambatan pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran biologi meliputi rata-rata 72%. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan acuan bagi guru di sekolah, khususnya biologi untuk merancang kegiatan belajar yang lebih merangsang proses kreatif siswa. Selain itu, diharapkan pemangku kepentingan eksternal pendidikan di Indonesia agar semakin fokus dalam menerapkan kebijakan yang lebih baik.

Abstract This study aims to analyze Pedagogy Content Islamic Knowledge (PCIK) on the Indonesian Qualification Framework (IQF) in Biology Islamic Education Study Program. The competence in Pedagogy Content Knowledge (PCK) is the achievement of Biology Education Program. The challenge faced by Biology Islamic Education program which lies under Islamic colleges and universities is to combine the program with the knowledge of Islam. The graduates of Biology Islamic Education program are required to master the Pedagogy Content Islamic Knowledge (PCIK). PCIK analysis was conducted qualitatively on Biology Islamic Education curriculum document at three state Islamic universities in Indonesia. The subjects of the study were three heads of study program, fourteen lecturers, and sixteen students. In-depth interviews, questionnaires, and discussions were conducted on the subjects. The results showed that PCIK is conceptually and textually seen in three subjects, namely capita selecta, microteaching practice, and school field practice. PCIK appeared in the scientific process, i.e. critical reflective activity on the significance of natural phenomena created by God. Selain itu dilakukan wawancara mendalam, pengisian angket, dan diskusi terpumpun bersama narasumber yaitu tiga orang ketua program studi, empat belas dosen, dan enam belas mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan PCIK secara tekstual konseptual terlihat pada tiga matakuliah yaitu kapita selekta, praktik pengajaran mikro, dan praktik lapangan madrasah. Penelitian longitudinal ini dilakukan di salah satu universitas penyelenggara pendidikan profesi guru biologi di Indonesia selama satu setengah tahun. Sejumlah 23 peserta program pendidikan profesi guru biologi yang menjadi subyek penelitian ini memiliki latar belakang akademik sarjana biologi dan tidak memiliki pengalaman melaksanakan penelitian pendidikan. Dokumen rancangan dan laporan penelitian tindakan kelas peserta selama mengikuti pendidikan profesi guru merupakan sumber data utama penelitian yang menggunakan desain penelitian campuran tipe eksploratori sekuensial. Kuesioner tentang kemampuan konten biologi merupakan instrumen pendukung yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa preferensi tema konten biologi peserta selalu berubah. Persepsi personal peserta terhadap konten biologi yang dipilihnya sebagai fokus penelitian juga bervariasi. Sebagai tambahan, pemilihan konten yang dijadikan fokus penelitian tidak terkait dengan kepercayaan diri peserta terhadap pemahaman konten yang dimilikinya. ABSTRACTThis paper presents results of study on the development of professional training program participants’ personal perceptions and preferences toward biology content which were used as their research subject along the program. This longitudinal study was carried out in one of universities which conducted professional training program. As many as 23 participants have an undergraduate degree in biology and did have not educational research experience. The main data source for this sequential exploratory research design was participants’ classroom action research document which was analyzed along the program. Questionnaire on biological content capabilities was used as an additional instrument to identify participant’s personal perception. Results showed that biology content themes used are always changing. Personal perception of participants according to biology content also varied. In addition, biology content chosen as research focus was not related with the level of complexity of the content and participants self-efficacy.

In this study, we reported the implementation of framing in plant anatomy course and how framing improves preservice biology teachers' spatial thinking. Thirty-five preservice biology teachers served as subjects. Spatial thinking were evaluated based on four cognitive processes in spatial thinking: (1) producing representations, (2) maintaining and managing representations in working memory, (3) scanning the representation in working memory, and (4) transforming representations. Results indicated that framing improved preservice biology teachers’ spatial thinking in which all four spatial thinking parameters significantly improved after learning plant anatomy with framing. Framing in a plant anatomy course can improve preservice biology teachers’ spa-tial thinking because questions, guiding sentences, and worked examples aided them in overcoming cognitive stress when engaged in a difficult task.ABSTRAK Dalam studi ini, kami melaporkan implementasi framing dalam mata kuliah anatomi tumbuhan dan bagaimana framing dapat meningkatkan pemikiran spasial calon guru biologi. Tiga puluh lima calon guru biologi menjadi subjek penelitian ini. Keterampilan berpikir spasial dievaluasi berdasarkan empat proses kognitif dalam pemi-kiran spasial: (1) menghasilkan representasi, (2) mempertahankan dan mengelola representasi dalam working memory, (3) memindai representasi dalam working memory, dan (4) mentransformasikan representasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa framing meningkatkan pemikiran spasial calon guru biologi dengan keempat parameter berpikir spasial meningkat secara signifikan setelah pembelajaran anatomi tumbuhan dengan fra-ming. Pada bagian pendahuluan penelitian, kami telah menemukan hanya empat jurnal yang memiliki skop secara spesifik di bidang pembelajaran biologi. Keempat jurnal tersebut adalah Journal of Biology Education, Bioedu, Bioedukasi dan Didaktika Biologi. Dalam keempat jurnal ini kami juga telah menemukan 547 artikel yang telah dipublikasikan sejak tahun 2012-2017. Semua artikel ini telah diunduh dan dilakukan analisis konten. Analisis konten dilakukan mengacu kepada tujuh aspek yaitu topik biologi, subjek penelitian, metode/desain penelitian, elemen penelitian, alat pengumpul data, jenis dan ukuran sampel dan teknik analisis data. Data yang telah diperoleh, telah dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif dan telah ditampilkan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. The data obtained were analyzed with descriptive statistics and displayed in tables and graphs. We founded that only four journals have been scope specifically in the biology learning. The four journals were Journal of Biology Education, Bioedu, Bioedukasi and Didaktika Biologi. In theses journals, we also found 547 articles published from 2012-2017. All of these articles were downloaded and all of theses articles were subjected to content analysis. The result of the study showed that research trends BER in Indonesia across the year 2012-2017 were devide on seven categorizes such as; biology topics was animal form and function, teaching and learning was subject matter, research design/methods was quantitative experimental design, research element was cognitive, data collection tools was achievement test, samples was the students at Senior High School (SMA) and the size of samples was between 31-100 and technique of the data analysis was quantitative method. Models are direct replicas, images, or copies of real objects or figures. They are made in place of the original object and therefore used as such in place of the original. Inability to have access to mammalian internal organs is one of the challenges in teaching some concepts in Biology. Hence, the need to develop a 3-dimensional automated model of the human heart (3-DAMHH) to teach Biology concepts in Ilorin, Nigeria. The study was a developmental research design model. ADDIE model was adopted. The findings of this study revealed that a 3-dimensional (3D) automated model of the human heart was successfully developed with silicon gum, pop, oil paint, hosepipe, pumping devices, transformer, and diode. Findings also revealed that a 3-dimensional automated model of the human heart was cost-effective. This study recommends biology teachers use 3-DAMHH for teaching abstract concepts in biology. Abstrak Model adalah replika langsung, gambar atau salinan dari benda atau angka nyata yang dibuat sesuai dengan objek aslinya dan karenanya digunakan seperti objek aslinya. Ketidakmampuan untuk mengakses organ dalam mamalia merupakan salah satu tantangan dalam mengajarkan beberapa konsep dalam mata pelajaran Biologi. Oleh karena itu, perlu dikembangkan model jantung manusia otomatis 3 dimensi (3-DAMHH) untuk mengajarkan konsep Biologi. Dalam hal ini ini peneliti mengambil konteks di Ilorin, Nigeria. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model ADDIE. Temuan penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa: model jantung manusia otomasi 3 dimensi berhasil dikembangkan dengan permen karet silikon, pop, cat minyak, selang, perangkat pompa, transformator, dan dioda. Temuan lain juga mengungkapkan bahwa model otomatis 3 dimensi jantung manusia hemat biaya. Studi ini merekomendasikan agar para guru Biologi menggunakan 3-DAMHH untuk mengajar konsep abstrak dalam biologi dalam pembelajaran mereka.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengintegrasikan materi dan permainan biologi di SMA Karitas Watuneso dalam kegiatan Biology Club I. Metode ini hasil kolaborasi instruksi langsung, demonstrasi, dan metode diskusi. Penyelenggaraan kelompok Biologi I di SMA Karitas Watuneso mendapat respon positif dengan tingkat kepuasan tertinggi masing-masing mulai dari Zoology Games, Botany Games dan Microbiology Games. Tingkat kebermaknaan kelompok Biologi I memperoleh skor tertinggi, diikuti oleh pemahaman materi dan kepuasan kegiatan.

Abstract:Implementing virtual learning using technology media is changes. This is a challenge for Biology teachers, especially in implementing the 2013 curriculum. This study analyzed the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in the virtual biology learning process for teachers at a Madrasah Aliyah in Labuhan Batu Regency, North Sumatra. The method used is the descriptive qualitative with subjects in this study were biology teachers who were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews and observations. The collected data were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in the biology learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic has not been maximized. Teachers still experience obstacles in making and implementing RPP activities in online learning. As a result, learning activities are only centered on the teacher. Abstrak:Penggunaan media teknologi dalam pembelajaran berkembang dengan pesat. Hal ini menjadi tantangan bagi guru Biologi khususnya dalam mengimplementasikan kurikulum 2013. Penelitian ini menganalisis implementasi kurikulum 2013 dalam pembelajaran Biologi secara virtual di salah satu Madrasah Aliyah Swasta di Kabupaten Labuhan Batu Sumatera Utara. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deksriptif dengan subjek penelitian guru Biologi yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan implementasi kurikulum 2013 dalam proses pembelajaran Biologi di masa pandemi Covid-19 belum maksimal. Guru masih mengalami hambatan dalam membuat dan melaksanakan kegiatan RPP secara daring. Akibatnya, kegiatan pembelajaran hanya terpusat kepada guru.

O objetivo dessa pesquisa é investigar a Representação Social de Biologia entre alunos do ensino médio. A metodologia utilizada foi Redes Semânticas para os termos Biologia, Ciências e Profi ssão. Foram pesquisados 100 alunos do ensino médio. Os resultados permitiram identifi car que os alunos do ensino médio têm uma representação social da Biologia muito associada a seus conteúdos e muito pouco em relação às ações científi cas presentes na Biologia. A própria ideia de Ciências é mais associada a Física e Química do que a Biologia, ao mesmo tempo que muito associam mais a disciplina escolar do ensino fundamental, que a atividade científica em si. Por fi m, a representação social de Profi ssão enfatiza comportamentos de sucesso não relacionados ao trabalho científi co. Esses resultados sugerem que uma parte do problema está associada provavelmente à forma na qual é conduzido o ensino de Biologia, que favorece apenas a representação de nomes e não de uma postura de investigação e produção de conhecimento. Th e objective of this research is to investigate the Social Representation of Biology among high school students. Th e results showed that high school students have a social representation of the biology associated with its very content and very little about the actions present in scientifi c biology. Th e very idea of science is more related to physics and chemistry than biology, while associate much more discipline Elementary School that scientifi c activity itself. Finally, the social representation of behaviors emphasizes Occupation of success is not related to scientifi c research. Th ese results suggest that part of the problem is probably associated with the way in which teaching is conducted in biology that favors only the representation of names and not in a position of research and knowledge production. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan menurut model Borg & Gall. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket validasi LKS, angket karakter peduli lingkungan, soal kemampuan pemecahan masalah, lembar observasi penilaian produk daur ulang limbah dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. The availability of teaching materials greatly supports the quality of learning and helps students understand the subject matter. A teacher needs to convey material based on students' characteristics and the applicable curriculum to achieve an effective and efficient learning process. This study aims to analyze the need to develop biology handouts on human circulatory system material. The data collection instrument is using an online questionnaire. The research data were analyzed descriptively. The subjects of this study consisted of a biology teacher and 123 students of class XII MIA. The results showed the analysis of students' needs for the development of biology teaching materials on the concept of the human circulatory system with a percentage of 69.9%. Teaching materials significantly impact the ease of learning biology, and handouts are essential at these research locations. Similar research also needs to be carried out at various levels of education and on different materials.Abstrak Ketersediaan bahan ajar sangat mendukung kualitas pembelajaran dan membantu peserta didik memahami materi pelajaran. Seorang guru perlu menyampaikan materi yang sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik dan kurikulum yang berlaku untuk mencapai proses pembelajaran secara efektif dan efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perlunya pengembangan handout biologi pada materi sistem peredaran darah manusia. Instrumen pengumpulan data yaitu menggunakan kuisioner secara online. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Subyek penelitian ini terdiri dari seorang guru biologi dan 123 peserta didik kelas XII MIA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa analisis kebutuhan peserta didik terhadap pengembangan bahan ajar biologi pada konsep sistem peredaran darah manusia dengan persentase 69,9%. Bahan ajar berdampak signifikan terhadap kemudahan belajar biologi, dan handout penting di lokasi penelitian ini. Penelitian serupa juga perlu dilakukan pada berbagai jenjang pendidikan dan pada materi yang berbeda.

Abstract:
Abstrak: Praktikum biologi merupakan kegiatan yang penting dalam memberikan pemahaman dan pengalaman nyata kepada mitra sasaran didik. Salah satu kendala dalam praktikum biologi adalah kurangnya pihak sekolah dalam mengirim guru-guru biologi untuk mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan yang dapat meningkatkan kompetensinya. Solusi dari permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada guru biologi terkait dengan beberapa topik praktikum biologi, seperti pengamatan dan identifikasi fitoplankton dari air rawa gambut. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pelatihan pengamatan dan identifikasi fitoplankton air rawa gambut untuk guru biologi SMA Se-Kota Palangka Raya. Metode yang digunakan pada pengabdian ini adalah pemaparan materi, diskusi, praktikum, dan monitoring dan evaluasi kegiatan. Praktik mencakup pengambilan sampel, pengamatan, serta identifikasi fitoplankton yang dilaksanakan di laboratorium. Kegiatan pelatihan dilakukan pada bulan November 2023 dengan 14 orang mitra sasaran. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan wawasan dan keterampilan mitra sasaran dalam kegiatan sampling dan pengamatan fitoplankton air rawa gambut yang ditunjukkan dengan kenaikan rata-rata 30 angka dari pre test ke post test untuk keseluruhan mitra sasaran.Abstract: Experiments in biology is an important activity in providing real understanding and experience to students. One of the obstacles in the experiment was the lack of schools in sending biology teachers to participate in training activities that can improve their competence. Solution to this problem is to provide training to biology teachers related to several biology experiment topics, such as observation and identification of phytoplankton in peat swamp water. The purpose of this community service was to provide training on the observation and identification of phytoplankton in peat swamp water for high school biology teachers in Palangkaraya to improve practical skill in biology. The methods used in this community service were the presentation of material, discussion, practices, monitoring and evaluation of activities. Practices included sampling activity, observation, and identification of phytoplankton in the laboratory. Training activities were conducted in November 2023 with 14 participants. The results of the training showed an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in sampling and observing peat swamp water phytoplankton with an average of 30 numbers from pretest to post test for all participants.

Abstract:
<p class="Abstrak"><strong>Abstract:</strong> The purpose of this research was to find out the teaching materials that needed to be developed in Cell Biology courses at Malang City Universities. The study was conducted on students who have taken Cell Biology courses in four college at the Malang city. The type of research conducted is quantitative descriptive research. The results showed that students were interested in Cell Biology courses and in the Cell Biology course there were several topics which were considered difficult including cell division, cell division control, and cancer, while for the results of the study related to the availability of teaching materials used, data were obtained that in three universities, namely UNISMA, UMM, and IKIP Budi Utomo, the percentage was more than 50% while for UIN the percentage was 48%. Students consider teaching that has not been able to construct understanding of concepts in studying Cell Biology courses so it is necessary to develop research-based module teaching materials.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bahan ajar yang perlu dikembangkan pada matakuliah Biologi Sel di Perguruan Tinggi Kota Malang. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap mahasiswa yang telah menempuh matakuliah Biologi Sel di empat Perguruan Tinggi kota Malang. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian deksriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa tertarik pada matakuliah Biologi Sel dan pada matakuliah Biologi Sel terdapat beberapa topik yang dianggap sulit antara lain pembelahan sel, pengendalian pembelahan sel, dan kanker. Hasil penelitian terkait ketersediaan bahan ajar yang digunakan diperoleh data bahwa pada tiga perguruan tinggi yaitu UNISMA, UMM, dan IKIP Budi Utomo diperoleh persentase lebih dari 50% sedangkan untuk UIN didapatkan persentase sebesar 48%. Mahasiswa menganggap ajar yang digunakan belum dapat mengonstruk pemahaman konsep dalam mempelajari matakuliah Biologi Sel sehingga perlu adanya pengembangan bahan ajar modul berbasis penelitian.

UPAYA PENINGKATAN SIKAP ILMIAH DAN PELESTARIAN BUDAYA LOKAL MELALUI PRAKTIKUM BIOLOGI BERBASIS ETNOBIOLOGI AbstrakPotensi lokal yang ada di sekitar sekolah pada umumnya belum banyak dimanfaatkan secara maksimal sebagai sumber belajar biologi, oleh sebab itu perlu dikembangkan praktikum biologi berbasis etnobiologi sebagai upaya pelestarian budaya lokal.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah 1) mengkaji pengetahuan Etnobiologi dan meningkatkan sikap ilmiah peserta didik SMA melalui praktikum biologi. 2) mengintegrasikan budaya lokal masyarakat suku Dayak Ngaju di wilayah Kabupaten Gunung Mas pada materi pelajaran biologi. Tahap pertama merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, pada tahap ini dilakukan pengkajian potensi lokal berbasis etnobiologi meliputi sumber daya alam hewan, tumbuhan dan potensi lokal lainnya, yang dimanfaatkan masyarakat.Tahap kedua dilaksanakan praktikum biologi berbasis etnobiologi pada peserta didik kelas X di tiga SMA wilayah Kabupaten Gunung Mas dengan menggunakan angket respons peserta didik terhadap pelaksanaan praktikum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan sikap ilmiah setelah mendapatkan pembelajaran biologi berbasis etnobiologi dibanding kelompok kontrol dengan rata-rata skor sebesar 0,47 (kriteria sedang).Budaya lokal perlu didokumentasikan dan diajarkan kepada generasi berikutnya untuk menghindari kehilangan budaya lokal di wilayah setempat.AbstractLocal potentials that exist around the school, in general, have not been maximally utilized as a source of biology learning. Therefore, it needs to be developed learning biology-based on ethnobiology efforts of preservation of local culture. The purpose of this research is 1) to study the knowledge of ethnobiology and to improve the scientific attitude of the learner of high school students through biology practicum. 2) integrate the local culture of the Dayak Ngaju tribe community in the Gunung Mas District area in biology subject matter. The first stage is qualitative descriptive research. At this stage conducted an assessment of local potency based on ethnobiology covering natural animal resources, plants, and other local potencies, which is utilized by society. The second stage is practicum based on ethnobiology biology of class X students in three high schools in Gunung Mas District by using the questionnaire of students' responses to the practicum implementation. The results showed that there was an increase in scientific attitude after obtaining biology learning based on ethnobiology- compared to the control group with an average score of 0.47 (medium criterion). Local culture needs to be documented and taught to the next generation to avoid losing local culture in the local area.
