Abstract:
Papillomavirus oncogenesis as a benign process, clinically diagnosed as papillomatosis, is common in small domestic animals, in particular among cats and dogs, but in the nosological structure of neoplasms has a different ratio depending on the species. Recent data indicate the provocation of precancerous and neoplastic lesions in domestic species by the papillomatosis virus. Clinically, oncogenesis is associated with lesions of the skin and mucous membranes, which is determined by the tropicity of the virus, since the papillomavirus replication cycle is closely related to the differentiation of cells of the multilayer squamous epithelium, and in accordance with the morphological classification provokes the development of epithelial tumors without specific localization. The following neoplasms were identified in the structure of tumors of epithelial origin in dogs and cats: papilloma, squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma. In statistical studies during the study period, organ-specific tumors in dogs amounted to 23.85%, in cats 12.5%. The concept of infectious oncology is used, which includes and combines the basic principles of infectious and oncological processes. Bibliographic analysis revealed the associativity of papillomavirus infection with specific neoplasms, depending on the taxonomy of the virus and the type of animal.

Abstract:
Faced with the current pandemic of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), many doubts have arisen in society and fake news has been disseminated on social media about the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 between animals and humans, thus increasing the number of animals abandoned by tutors after the beginning of the pandemic. This review brings information from studies carried out on COVID-19 and pets. A bibliographic review of scientific publications was carried out: periodicals, magazines, books and articles on the subject. With the results, it was observed that although dogs and cats are affected by the new coronavirus, their transmission to humans has not been confirmed, however, there are suspected cases that humans can transmit the virus to animals and that probably, only the cats can transmit the virus interspecies.

Fernandes, Ana Margarida Cortez. "Neoplasias da glândula mamária das cadelas e das gatas: revisão bibliográfica com descrição de seis casos clínicos." Master's thesis, 2017. http://hdl.handle.net/10437/8273.

Abstract:
Mammary gland neoplasms are one of the most common tumor types in bitches and cats. The percentage of malignancy is quite high in cats occurring in 80 to 90% of the cases, whereas in the bitches it’s around 30-50%, so early diagnosis and treatment are of great importance. The objective of this dissertation was to document practical cases of mammary gland neoplasms in bitches and cats, and the respective treatment protocols applied. Six clinical cases were studied, three bitches and three cats. In all cases, surgical excision was performed as the sole treatment method, and no adjuvant treatment was conducted even in cases of high risk of relapse and/or metastasis. It was verified that the clinical staging was not performed completely in any animal before surgery and the diagnosis was obtained through histopathological analysis. It was found that the economic contingencies of the owners were the main cause for the postponement of the surgery or the recommended complementary diagnostic tests, There is a need to perform regular oncological follow-up of these patients and to develop and implement the use of adjuvant treatment protocols in order to improve the survival time of patients with breast cancer that have poor prognostic factors.

Abstract:
Assessing the environmental impact of transport has been an issue over the last decade. The general framework is established and the followings factors must be considered to obtain results as accurate as possible. Among others (a) the study should considered the entire life cycle if possible: building & materials, usage phase and waste treatment and (b) usage phase assessment must be developed under real conditions in addition to lab tests. When the object of study is urban private transport, some extra lines can be taken into account considering the high impact that environmental initiatives makes in society. The information that local authorities and community receives about the initiative is as relevant as the environmental benefits obtain of the implementation of the project. In this paper, we present the methodology developed to assess CO2 emissions of electric vehicles intendent to car-sharing and home care; two projects developed at Valencian region. We deepen in the relevance and type of information obtain and manage for both studies with a life cycle vision. As a result of usage phase assessment, field test proves to be revealing giving a more realistic vision of the benefits of the project. Theoretical assessments were useful to consider the implementation of a certain project and the necessary support complementing the entity of the study. Resources needed to develop field test might skew results by biasing the study. Attention need to be paid in order to manage resources to set up field tests and avoid setting up field tests due to available resources. Bibliographic studies have shown building, materials and waste treatment depends on available data. Life cycle assessment seems to be the most adequate tool to obtain accurate results although the cost of the assessment is high and might not show significant differences between cars of similar characteristics.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.4995/CIT2016.2016.3430

Abstract:
The paper presents the assessment of RELAP5/SCDAP code capabilities to simulate the thermal-hydraulic behavior of liquid metal coolants. The preliminary part of the study dealt with a bibliographic review of the heat transfer correlations available for liquid metals, in particular for lead-bismuth eutectic. The most appropriate correlation, according to the thermal-hydraulic condition of the Chinese ADS design has been implemented and tested in the code. The experiment facilities used for the assessment study are the South Korean HELIOS facility, the KYLIN-II facility and the TALL facility. The first one is a T-H loop which is down scaled by a factor of 5000 of the reference PEACER-300 concept reactor, and has been recently used for an international benchmark organized by the OECD/NEA. As the first phase of the benchmark is concluded, the data is available in the open literature. The second facility is constructed and operated in the Institute of Nuclear Safety Energy of the Chinese Academy of Science in Hefei (CAS). The third facility has been constructed and operated at KTH Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm. The full height facility was designed and operated to investigate the heat transfer performance of different heat exchangers and the thermal-hydraulic characteristics of natural and forced circulation flow under steady and transient conditions. A consistent and systematic approach for the nodalization development and assessment procedures that respond to the IAEA guidelines is discussed and thoroughly applied. The present paper discusses the results of the assessment study of the RELAP5/SCDAP capability when working with liquid metal fluid. The procedures and the database developed constitute the base in our institute for further study in case more experimental data will be available.
