Abstract:
Background. A large number of pelvic injuries are seriously unstable, with mortality rates reaching 19%. Approximately 60% of pelvic injuries are related to the posterior pelvic ring. However, the selection of a fixation method for a posterior pelvic ring injury remains a challenging problem for orthopedic surgeons. The aim of the present study is to investigate the biomechanical performance of five different fixation approaches for posterior pelvic ring injury and thus provide guidance on the choice of treatment approach in a clinical setting. Methods. A finite element (FE) model, including the L3-L5 lumbar vertebrae, sacrum, and full pelvis, was created from CT images of a healthy adult. Tile B and Tile C types of pelvic fractures were created in the model. Five different fixation methods for fixing the posterior ring injury (PRI) were simulated: TA1 (conservative treatment), TA2 (S1 screw fixation), TA3 (S1 + S2 screw fixation), TA4 (plate fixation), and TA5 (modified triangular osteosynthesis). Based on the fixation status (fixed or nonfixed) of the anterior ring and the fixation method for PRI, 20 different FE models were created. An upright standing loading scenario was simulated, and the resultant displacements at the sacroiliac joint were compared between different models. Results. When TA5 was applied, the resultant displacements at the sacroiliac joint were the smallest (1.5 mm, 1.6 mm, 1.6 mm, and 1.7 mm) for all the injury cases. The displacements induced by TA3 and TA2 were similar to those induced by TA5. TA4 led to larger displacements at the sacroiliac joint (2.3 mm, 2.4 mm, 4.8 mm, and 4.9 mm), and TA1 was the worst case (3.1 mm, 3.2 mm, 6.3 mm, and 6.5 mm). Conclusions. The best internal fixation method for PRI is the triangular osteosynthesis approach (TA5), followed by S1 + S2 screw fixation (TA3), S1 screw fixation (TA2), and plate fixation (TA4).

Abstract:
Crucial studies have verified that IAA is mainly generated via the two-step pathway in Arabidopsis, in which tryptophan aminotransferase (TAA) and YUCCA (YUC) are the two crucial enzymes. However, the role of the TAA (or TAR) and YUC genes in allotetraploid oilseed rape underlying auxin biosynthesis and development regulation remains elusive. In the present study, all putative TAR and YUC genes were identified in B. napus genome. Most TAR and YUC genes were tissue that were specifically expressed. Most YUC and TAR proteins contained trans-membrane regions and were confirmed to be endoplasmic reticulum localizations. Enzymatic activity revealed that YUC and TAR protein members were involved in the conversion of IPA to IAA and Trp to IPA, respectively. Transgenic plants overexpressing BnaYUC6a in both Arabidopsis and B. napus displayed high auxin production and reduced plant branch angle, together with increased drought resistance. Moreover, mutation in auxin biosynthesis BnaTARs genes by CRISPR/Cas9 caused development defects. All these results suggest the convergent role of BnaYUC and BnaTAR genes in auxin biosynthesis. Different homoeologs of BnaYUC and BnaTAR may be divergent according to sequence and expression variation. Auxin biosynthesis genes in allotetraploid oilseed rape play a pivotal role in coordinating plant development processes and stress resistance.

Abstract:
Risk är en del av all mänsklig aktivitet. Att förutsäga det okända och det som kanske inträffar harvarit ett problem som mänskligheten funderat kring från antiken och framåt. Att finna en förklaringsmodelleller en metod för att med en sannolikhet gränsande till visshet kunna skaffa sig insikti morgondagen har varit och är alltjämt en stor utmaning. Det här arbetet syftar till att skapa klarheti begreppet risk och sätta det i relation till hur Försvarsmakten hanterar bedömningen av riskidag. Uppsatsen täcker den idéhistoriska utvecklingen av begreppet från de klassiska filosofernatill modern tid. För att vidga perspektivet och skapa förståelse för bedömandeprocessen berörs detkognitiva skeendet vid beslutsfattning och några av de fallgropar som är kända. Med denna begreppsförankringsom grund analyseras Försvarsmaktens riskhanteringsmodell i relation till andramotsvarande modeller. Fördelar och nackdelar påvisas. Avslutningsvis finns en rekommendationtill utveckling av modellen för att bättre svara mot de krav på säkerhet som det expeditionära insatsförsvaretkräver. Det är författarens förhoppning att efter läsning av uppsatsen skall läsaren hautvecklat sin personliga uppfattning och sitt medvetande om risk och riskhantering.
Risk is a part of all human activity. To be able to predict the unknown has been a problem of mankind since the ancient Greeks and forward in history. To find a model or method in order to foreseetomorrow with a probability close to certainty has been and is still a big challenge. The purposeof this paper is to clarify the concept of risk and put it in relation to how it is used in theSwedish Armed Forces to day. This essay covers the history of ideas of risk from ancient historyto modern times. To widen the conception and create un understanding of the process of decisionmaking, a part of the paper deals with the cognitive process and some of the common pitfallswithin it. With this foundation in the concept of risk the Swedish Armed Forces model are scrutinizedand compared to other models alike. The pros and cons are described. Finally some suggestionsto develop the model are given in order to make it a valuable tool in support of the new expeditionaryarmed forces. It is the author’s ambition that this essay will contribute to the readerspersonal knowledge about risk and risk management.

Abstract:
Increasing the utilisation of bioenergy systems has the potential to become a vital component in the struggle to maintain and fulfil global energy demands. In particular, biomass gasification can offer a solution to the ‘Energy Trilemma’, and provide an affordable, reliable and carbon neutral technology. The limiting factor hampering the progression of biomass gasification power plants is tar. Tars formed during the thermal breakdown of biomass, condense and foul downstream equipment, causing reliability issues and damaging energy conversion equipment, such as engines and turbines. Treating tar through partial oxidation offers tar destruction without waste and soot, as well as maintaining the heating value of the tar in the producer gas. Coandă burners which are fuelled by more conventional fuels have been proven to operate close to, and below, stoichiometric conditions; as such, these devices were prime for further investigation. The main objective of this research project was to develop a small-scale system which utilises a novel Coandă burner for tar destruction. An experimental rig consisting of a wood pellet pyrolyser, which produced a gas loaded with tar, and a Coandă tar cracker, was designed, constructed and operated in order to determine the effectiveness of the process, with respect to tar reduction. The principal experimental program was divided into two phases, so that comparisons of the tar composition, before and after treatment, could be formed. In the first experimental phase, wood pellets were pyrolysed at a range of temperatures between 500 and 800ºC. The pyrolysis products (gas, tar and char) were analysed. As the pyrolysis temperature increased from 500 to 800ºC there was a decrease in the yield of gravimetric tar in the sampled gas from 78.59 to 16.55 g/Nm3. In the second phase the tarry gas was treated by the Coandă tar cracker. The Coandă tar cracker was shown to be effective at significantly reducing the tar content in the product gas. The yield of key tar components in the treated gas was reduced for all tested pyrolysis temperatures. For example; when the pyrolysis temperature was 800ºC; the yields of benzene, toluene and naphthalene were reduced by over 90% and the gravimetric tar yield by 88%. The success of the tar cracker can be attributed to the high flame temperature (>1000ºC) and the addition of oxygen which leads to the production of a greater proportion of radicals in the flame which initiate tar destruction reactions.

Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskor ställs inför fler traumatiska upplevelser under kort tid än en individ utanför det vårdande yrket gör under en livstid. Empatitrötthet är för den svenska sjukvården ett nytt myntat begrepp. För att förstå empatitrötthet har även fenomenet empati beskrivits kort i bakgrunden. En vidare och djupare förståelse för fenomenet empatitrötthet presenteras i resultatet. Syfte: Syftet med studien är att utforska fenomenet empatitrötthet ur ett omvårdnadsperspektiv.Metod: En icke systematisk litteraturstudie har gjorts baserad på kvalitativa, kvantitativa och mixade ansatser för att få ett helhetsperspektiv på fenomenet empatitrötthet. Resultat: Fenomenet empatitrötthet påverkar omvårdnaden av patienter och anhöriga. Sjuksköterskor med kort erfarenhet drabbas lättare av empatitrötthet än sjuksköterskor med lång erfarenhet. Det finns inga riktlinjer för hur en sjuksköterska ska motverka empatitrötthet, utan sjuksköterskor använder egna strategier för att inte drabbas av empatitrötthet.Konklusion: Litteraturstudien visar att begreppet empatitrötthet är högst aktuellt i dagens sjukvård då hög arbetsbelastning och stress hos sjuksköterskan ofta är ett faktum. Svensson, L. Does empathy ever end? A literature review about compassion fatigue. Degree project in nursing 15 credit points. Malmö University: Faculty of Health and Society, Department of Care Science, 2018. Background: Nurses today are exposed to more traumatic events under a short period of time than a person outside the caring environment experiences in a lifetime. Compassion fatigue is a new concept in Swedish health care. To understand compassion fatigue the concept empathy further been discussed in the background. A deeper understanding for the phenomena compassion fatigue is presented in the result. Aim: The aim for this study is to further explore the phenomena of compassion fatigue from a nursing perspective.Method: A non-systematic literature review has been used in this study based on literature using different approaches to get a holistic view on the phenomena compassion fatigue. Result: The phenomenon of compassion fatigue affects the care of patients and relatives. Nurses with short experience are more easily affected by compassion fatigue than nurses with long experience. There are no guidelines for how a nurse should counteract comapssion fatigue, but nurses use their own strategies to not suffer from compassion fatigue.Conclusion: The review shows that the concept of compassion fatigue is highly topical in today's medical care when high workload and stress in the nurse is often a fact. I det här arbetet synliggörs våra styrdokument på skolans område, de statliga, kommunala och lokala, utifrån den tes/fråga som lyder; ”Tar man grundläggande värden på allvar? Tar man barns frågor om livet, på allvar?” En presentation av respektive dokument och en kompletterande intervju med den pedagogiska ledaren/rektorn på en skola analyseras och sammanfattas. Undersökningens huvudresultat är som följer; Vardagstillvaron och den sociala gemenskapen är viktiga som utgångspunkt för samtal, reflekterande och kunskapsutveckling.

Barns/vuxnas syn på medmänniskor är mycket viktigt - det utvecklande mänskliga mötet. Synliggör värden, normer, tankar och idéer och våga visa att du söker svar. Begrepp och värden är otydligare i den kommunala skolplanen och den lokala arbetsplanen.

Grundtanken med arbetet är att följa idéer och tankar som är presenterade i våra styrdokument. Från statlig nivå Lpo-94 och läroplanskommitténs betänkande: Skola för bildning (SOU 1992:94), via kommunens skolplan - Sandvikens kommuns skolplan, den lokala arbetsplanen - Norrsätraskolans arbetsplan, till rektor för skolan. Jag presenterar och analyserar varje delområde var för sig, med utgångspunkt från min tes och mina frågor. Jag sammanfattar varje delområde för sig själv. Sammanfattning av delområdena tillsammans, där relationerna dem emellan presenteras och vad man rimligen kan säga om detta material tas sedan upp i diskussionsavsnittet.

Abstract:
Penningtvätt i Sverige är sedan tidigare föga utforskat. I denna studie är syftet att undersöka penningtvätt i Sverige vad det gäller brottsstrukturen, gärningspersoner samt statistiska samband för dessa. Studien är ett uppdrag utfärdat av Länskriminalpolisen i Skåne. Materialet har bestått av straffrättsliga domslut hämtade ifrån Blendow Lexnovas rättsfallsdatabas. Utifrån domsluten kodades variabler vilka matades in i SPSS där statistiska analyser genomfördes. Resultaten visar bland annat att mest pengar återinvesteras i företag, gärningspersonerna är typiskt män i 40-årsåldern med brottslig bakgrund samt det finns ett flertal statistiska samband mellan olika aspekter av brottsstrukturen för penningtvätt. I diskussionen framhävs att resultaten möjligen kan användas i uppdragsgivarens operativa verksamhet samt att mer forskning generellt behövs om penningtvätt. En slutsats som dras är att resultaten bör generaliseras med försiktighet då brister återfinns i materialet.
Money laundering in Sweden has previously been little explored. The purpose of this study is to investigate money laundering in Sweden in terms of crime structure, perpetrators and statistical correlations for these. The study is a commission issued by the County Criminal Police in Skåne. The material has consisted of criminal judgments downloaded from Blendow Lexnova’s database of court cases. Variables were encoded which were entered in SPSS where statistical analyses were conducted, based on the criminal judgments. The results demonstrate, among other things, that most of the money is precipitated in companies, the perpetrators are typically men which are 40 years of age with criminal background and there are a number of statistical correlations between the different aspects of crime structure for money laundering. In the discussion, following things are highlighted: the results can possibly be used in the operational activities of CCP and more research is needed on money laundering in general. A conclusion to be drawn is that the results should be generalized with caution when deficiencies are found in the material.

När människor vill hitta information om vad som pågår i deras och andras samhällen, så har tidningar blivit en primär källa. Jag ska göra en analys av vad tre olika tidningar rapporterar om den antisemitiska kampanjen i Polen som började i mars 1968. Jag ska även analysera vad samma tidningar skrev om de polskjudiska flyktingarna när de kom till Sverige år 1969. Då jag gör min undersökning kommer jag att använda mig av beskrivande idéanalys som metod. Jag kommer även att använda mig av den komparativa metoden när jag jämför tidningarnas innehåll med varandra. De analytiska verktyg som jag har valt att använda när jag analyserar mitt källmaterial är etnicitet och genus. Slutsatserna av denna uppsats är att i rapporterna om den antisemitiska kampanjen nämns inga kvinnor, och att judarna var de som fick skulden för studentdemonstrationerna som skedde. En annan slutsats är att tidningarna inte rapporterade någonting om de polska judarna som kom till Sverige 1969; en orsak till detta skulle kunna vara att en församling inte ville att de polska judarna som kom till Sverige skulle göra några uttalanden i den svenska pressen eftersom de ansåg att det skulle kunna skapa problem för andra judar som ville emigrera från Polen. When people want to find information about what is going on in their own society and in the society of others, newspapers have become a primary source. I have decided to make an analysis of what three different newspapers were reporting about the anti-Semitic campaign that took place in Poland and started in March 1968, and what the same newspapers were reporting about the Polish-Jewish refugees when they arrived to Sweden during the year 1969. Given that the basic material that I am using is newspapers I have decided to use descriptive idea analysis when performing my study. I have also chosen a comparative method to use when I make comparisons between the newspapers. The analytical tools that I am going to use when I analyze my material are ethnicity and gender. The main conclusions of this essay are that there is no mention of women in the anti-Semitic campaign that started in March 1968 and that the Jews were blamed for the student demonstrations that took place. Another conclusion is that the newspapers did not report anything about the Polish-Jews that arrived to Sweden in 1969, and a reason for that could be that a parish did not want Polish-Jews that came to Sweden to make any statements in the press because they were afraid that, that could create problems for other Jews that wanted to emigrate from Poland. Abstract:

Globaliseringen innebär möjligheter för företag att verka på en större marknad, men detta innebär också att organisationen blir mer utspridd och svårkontrollerad. Ett ökat fokus på kunskap som resurs för att skapa konkurrensfördelar samt att använda expatriering som ett verktyg för hantering av den utspridda organisationen har lett fram till valet av syfte med denna uppsats. Vi vill utifrån vår modell över hur repatrioters kunskap kan överföras och bidra till organisationens utveckling, beskriva och analysera hur företag idag tar tillvara på repatrioters kunskap. Vi har valt att göra vår undersökning på företag noterade på Stockholmsbörsen som använder sig av expatriering utanför Norden.

Som grund för vår modell ligger teori om den kunskap repatrioter införskaffar under utlandstjänstgöring, hur kunskap kan överföras samt hur den kan utveckla organisationen och stärka dess konkurrenskraft. Utifrån vår modell har vi sedan skapat ett frågeformulär som ligger till grund för vår empiri. Frågeformuläret besvarades av 18 företag och resultatet visar att respondenterna överlag anser att repatrioters kunskaper gynnar organisationen samt att den bidrar till en stärkt konkurrenskraft. Trots detta är det enbart 3 av de 18 företagen som har en formell strategi för kunskapsöverföring vid repatriering. Ett flertal av företagen använder sig däremot av informella metoder, då främst genom personifierad kunskapsöverföring. Detta kommer dock troligtvis att ändras då många av företagen uppgett att de inom de närmsta fem åren med stor sannolikhet kommer att utveckla en strategi för kunskapsöverföring vid repatriering. Behovet av en bättre genomarbetad strategi tycks komma av en framtida utökad användning av expatriering inom organisationen.

Vidare visar flera studier att faktorer som trötthet, att barnet får all uppmärksamhet och att det finns mindre tid för relationen till ens partner, påverkar individens upplevelse av sexuell lust och dennes vilja till ett intimt sexualliv. Syfte: Syftet är att belysa kvinnors upplevelser kring sitt sexualliv i samband med föräldraskap. Metod: Semistrukturerade intervjuer som utfördes med åtta kvinnor via en Google chatt. För analysen av intervjumaterialet användes en kvalitativ innehållsanalys där nyckelord resulterade i delteman och huvudtema. Resultat och analys: Ur scriptteorin utgick jag från det interpersonella och det kulturella scriptet för att analysera hur dessa script förändrar kvinnors upplevelser av sitt sexualliv i samband med föräldraskapet. Analysen utmynnade i ett övergripande tema ”Intimitet tar sig fler uttryck”. Resultatet i studien visar att majoriteten av kvinnorna upplevde att intimitet fick en djupare innebörd efter barnet hade fötts. Flera av kvinnorna beskriver att innan de fick barn så upplevde de att intimitet sammankopplades mer med en fysisk attraktion till deras partner samt större fokus på sexualliv. Efter barnet har fötts beskriver flera av kvinnorna istället att deras upplevelse av intimitet är något som sammankopplas utifrån ett större behov att ha en emotionell närhet och beröring tillsammans med sin partner. Vidare framgick det även i resultatet att flera av kvinnorna beskrev hur de tidigare sammankopplade upplevelsen av attraktion till deras partner och dennes utseende, medan idag efter barnet har fötts så uppgav flera av kvinnorna att de istället upplevde en större attraktion till deras partner om de fick hjälp med omsorgen av barnet. Konklusion: I analysen av intervjumaterialet var det främst det interpersonella och det kulturella scriptet som var framträdande utifrån informanternas upplevelser av intimitet. Utifrån vad resultatet i denna studie visade så efterfrågar jag i den framtida forskningen kring föräldraskap och sexualitet mer fördjupning i individers upplevelser av intimitet efter de har fått barn. Malmö University: Faculty of health and Society, 2018Background: Several studies show when you become parent it can for many people be a big change in their life, both for the individual but also in relation to their partner. The parenthood often brings several expectations and new roles in the relationship that can be difficult for the parents to balance between them. Further, several studies show that factors for example, tiredness, child gets all attention and less time for the relationship with your partner, effects people’s experience to feel sexual lust and their will to have intimacy and sexual life. Aim: The aim of the study is to illustrate women’s experience about their sexual life associated with the parenthood. Method: Semi structured interviews were conducted with eight women by Google chats. For the analysis of the interviews a qualitive content-analysis was used were keywords resulted in categories and themes. Result and analysis: From the script theory I used the interpersonal and the cultural script to analyse how these scripts change women’s experience of their sexual life associated with the parenthood. The analysis emerged in to a main theme” Transform the meanings of intimacy”. The result of the study shows that most of the women experience that intimacy got a deeper meaning after the child was born. Several women describe how they before having children experienced intimacy in connection to a more physical attraction to their partner and a bigger focus on their sexual life. Today several of the women describe instead that their experience of intimacy is more connected with a bigger need of an emotional closeness and touch together with their partner. Further the study shows, that several of the women described how they earlier associated the feelings of attraction to their partner and the partner’s look. After the child was born, several of the women instead felt a bigger attraction for their partner if the partner helped more with the care of the child. Conclusion: With the analysis of the interview material it was mainly the interpersonal and cultural scripts that were prominent based on the informants' experiences of intimacy. Based on the result of this study, I ask for future research on parenting and sexuality with a wider focus on individuals' experiences of intimacy after they have had children. It means a broader perspective of what intimacy generally means after the child has been born, than what the research largely shows now. Keyword: Intimacy, parenthood, postnatal, sexuality.

Abstract:
Vi har valt att skriva om hur trygghet skapas i de olika åldersgrupperna som finns på de två förskolor där vi genomförde intervjuerna med förskollärarna. Med hjälp av semistrukturerade intervjuer, Bowlbys anknytningsteori och Vygotskys proximala utvecklingszon, är målet att studiens resultat ska ge svar på hur de intervjuade förskollärarna beskriver tryggheten och vilka faktorer som påverkar trygghetsskapande. Resultatet visar att tryggheten är grunden för barns utveckling och lärande oavsett vilken barngruppskonstellation barnet befinner sig i. Introduktion ses som en viktig del i trygghetsskapandet samt ett nära samarbete med hemmet. Att vara närvarande pedagog, lyhörd och använda sig av olika kommunikativa hjälpmedel i kommunikationen med barnen, är några av faktorerna som förskollärarna lyfter fram och som främjar arbetet med att skapa trygghet. Den största utmaningen i arbetet med att skapa trygghet är personalantalet i förhållande till antal barn i barngruppen som orsakar stress och en känsla att inte räcka till i de olika ålderskonstellationerna som finns på förskolorna.

Abstract:
This paper reviews various producer gas cleaning techniques developed/ applied in different biomass gasification processes. It investigates various methods for the removal of particulate matter and tar emissions from producer gas generated by various types of gasifiers. The various tar measurement protocols are inconsistent on the definition of tar and particulate matters. The producer gas if used for power generation using IC engines should be less than 50 mg/Nm3, and in the case of gas turbines a minimum particulate matter concentration of 10 ppm (weight) is needed. To control tars and particulates, various insitu (catalytic tar cracking using Dolomite/Nickel, partial oxidation, high temperature tar cracking, biomass selection, two stage gasification) and post gasification treatments (sand bed filter, wash tower, venturi scrubber, rotational atomizer, electrostatic precipitator, fabric filter, fixed bed tar adsorber, catalytic tar cracker, ceramic filter, cyclones etc) are used. In the cleaning train, collection efficiencies decrease drastically as particulate sizes fall below 1.5 μm. Heavy tar and alkali metals cause engine cylinder deposition and high temperature corrosion of turbine blades respectively. The selection of suitable biomass can improve the quality of gas. Nearly every biomass has a high percentage (60–80%) of Tar Forming Particles (PTFV). Tar is a general nomenclature for a group of compounds like phenols, Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH), high Molecular Organic Compounds, Water-soluble organic compounds and ash particles agglomerated with organic compounds. It is easier to remove 90% particulate matter than to achieve 90% tar reduction as they form stable aerosols. A combination of insitu and post gasification treatments is necessary to condition the fuel gas for various power generating equipments. Hence, the analysis of various gas cleaning methods are important for applying them in suitable systems.

Abstract:
TARs are a mixture of heavy and light hydrocarbons produced from pyrolysis and gasification of biomass and waste, as condensable volatiles in the syngas. Given their relatively low dew point, they are usually removed from syngas to avoid condensation and fouling of engines and equipment. Vegetable oil scrubbing compared to water scrubbing yields oil tar mixtures which is a renewable fuel and may be useful successfully to power a gas turbine. The feasibility of burning TAR, blended vegetable oil, in a combustor of a turbine is investigated. Computational simulations with a CFD software were performed to analyze evaporation and combustion processes of vegetable oil-tars mixture compared with pure vegetable oil and diesel, in terms of residence time, temperature distributions, inlet turbine conditions. The results show difficulties in evaporation of both vegetable oil and vegetable oil-tar mixture compared to diesel, with consequences in the combustion in terms of temperature distributions and higher NOx emissions. Preheating of vegetable oil and vegetable oil-tar mixture improves their evaporation approaching the results to those of the diesel case.

One of the major barriers to gasification is the need for elimination of tars that are generated in thermochemical conversion processes. While metal catalysts can be used for tar decomposition, and cheaper alternative is char. Deactivation of char catalysts has been studied and these deactivation rates have been applied to a model for a gasification system. The calculations and experimental data presented here show that if the char from a gasifier is recycled to a tar reformer then some char deactivation will take place, but the activity will not fall below 40% of its initial activity. The energy penalty for diverting char, a potential heat source, to a catalytic reactor has been accounted for. This was done by comparing the heating value of char to the heating value of syngas generated from reforming tar using the char as a catalyst. At high gasification temperatures, when tar production in the gasifier was low, the char had a higher heating value than the syngas that was produced from tar reforming. At low temperatures, the heating value of the syngas exceeded that of the char combustion, which implies an overall energy benefit.

Abstract:
Thermoacoustic refrigeration is an environmentally safe refrigeration technology that has evolved over the past three decades [1–5]. The influence of working fluid on the performance of the thermoacoustic refrigerator (TAR) expressed in terms of the cooling load and the coefficient of performance is discussed in the paper. The calculations rely on the short stack boundary layer approximation. A simple model of a one-dimensional half wavelength resonance tube equipped with stack plates and a pair of heat exchangers was used as the physical model. It is known that a TAR with noble gases and their mixtures as working fluids can achieve high values of the coefficient of performance (COP) because of small Prandtl number values. The present study revealed and quantified that cooling load behavior is quite different from the performance in terms of the COP: the highest cooling load is achieved with pure Helium as the working fluid. A reason is the very high sound speed in Helium. TARs with Helium as the working fluids deliver the highest cooling load of all gases and their mixtures examined here, therefore it has been suggested as a limiting case of the most powerful TAR. The influence of geometry and thermophysical parameters of the device on TAR performance was studied systematically and a performance sensitiviy analysis was presented with particular emphasis on TAR cooling load.

Abstract:
Abstract This study demonstrates first time in Abu Dhabi the capacity of combined 3D tar and petroleum systems modelling, in an operating oil field offshore Abu Dhabi, indicating locally the tar presence in the Arab formation. It is intended to give insights on the most likely process of tar formation and allows to a certain extent a prediction of tar presence away from well control. The tar modelling is calibrated through core observations on vertical wells, which define the thickness of the initially assumed constant and homogeneous tar mat. An extensive data set using adapted geochemistry, petrographic analyses, fluid inclusion analyses and inclusion PVTX-modelling is used to analyse the charge history of the oil field and its tar in detail. The analysed tar occludes the pore space in the reservoirs of the lower Arab Formation in the oilfield offshore Abu Dhabi. The petrographic analyses indicate the presence of tar particles even up to the upper Arab. Geochemistry and petrography show that there are two different tar types. The classical reservoir filling black tar in the upper most part of the Lower Arab is identified as APE (asphaltene precursor entity after Wilhelms & Larter, 1994) tar which is caused by a flocculation process at a certain temperature and pressure regime in the reservoir. This concept has been successful modelled and can even explain the observed fine tar particles up to the upper most Arab. The second type of initially called "tar" is analysed and observed in the top Diyab and lowest part of the Arab, in a micritic limestone facies environment. Previous concepts struggled to justify the black tar deposition in the dense micritic carbonate mudstones. The initial porosity in this micritic mudstones was already very low and therefore a tar flocculation process or gravity segregation in such an environment urges for other explanations. Our analyses indicate that the micritic mudstone acts as a source rock at the top of Diyab and the lower most Arab subunit, where the early heavy oil and asphaltenes (POA=pre-oil asphaltenes) did not leave the rock and stayed in-situ as bitumen/black tar. This has been modelled with a tar specific kinetics, differentiating in an early heavy oil component (POA), that is generated in-situ and an asphaltene component (APE) expelled within the oil and transported into the reservoir. Acceptable tar modelling result have been reached by reconstructing the charge history of the field. It shows that Diyab oil entered the lower Arab reservoir at approx. 105/95 Ma. The tar modelling through time shows that first tar deposited at 78 Ma (+/- 5 Ma) in the southern part of the oil field. The charge modelling indicates the lower Arab seal failure at approx. 58/53 Ma in the past. The shallower reservoir units of the lower and middle Arab up to the upper Arab are subsequently filled with asphaltene rich oil. Then at 48 Ma the asphaltenes reach a flocculation peak. Finally at 47/34 Ma the whole oil field with the already flocculated tar (APE in the reservoir) and the asphaltenes in the source rock (POA) received a paleo heat shock of at least 140°C, which transformed the tar into pyrobitumen and caused the today surprisingly high API (around 40°API) in the oil field by oil-to-gas cracking.
