Abstract:
Agathidinae is a large subfamily of braconid wasps that are koinobiont endoparasitoids of lepidopteran larvae. Although the group is relatively well studied in the northern hemisphere, the Australian fauna is poorly known, with only 36 species recorded from the continent. This study presents a synopsis of the genera and species that occur in Australia, including a key to genera, information on their distribution and apparent species richness, and a list of species according to the latest generic concepts. Ten genera occur in Australia: Amputostypos Sharkey, Baeognatha Kokujev, Biroia Szépligeti, Braunsia Kriechbaumer, Coccygidium Saussure, Cremnops Foerster, Disophrys Foerster, Euagathis Szépligeti, Lytopylus Foerster and Therophilus Wesmael, with Lytopylus known only from a single introduced species. Baeognatha stat. rev. is taken out of synonymy with Therophilus and two genera are synonymised: Platyagathis Turner with Disophrys (syn. nov.) and Camptothlipsis with Baeognatha (syn. nov.). The genera Agathis Latreille and Bassus Fabricius are excluded from the Australian fauna, as the species described under these genera are here transferred to Therophilus, and no other species of either genus have been discovered from the continent. Further, the genera Baeognatha and Coccygidium are recorded from Australia for the first time, although not represented by any described species. The following new combinations are proposed: Amputostypos dilutum (Turner), comb. nov. (from Hypsostypos), A. exornatum (Turner), comb. nov. (from Hypsostypos), Disophrys leaena (Turner), comb. nov. (from Platyagathis), Lytopylus rufipes (Nees von Esenbeck) comb. nov. (from Bassus), Therophilus antipodus (Ashmead) comb. nov. (from Orgiloneura), T. festinatus (Turner), comb. nov. (from Bassus), T. latibalteatus (Cameron) comb. nov. (from Agathis), T. leucogaster (Holmgren) comb. nov. (from Agathis), T. malignus (Turner). comb. nov. (from Bassus), T. martialis (Turner) comb. nov. (from Agathis), T. meridionalis (Turner comb. nov. (from Bassus), T. minimus (Turner) comb. nov. (from Bassus), T. minor (Szépligeti) comb. nov. (from Bassus), T. pedunculatus (Szépligeti) comb. nov. (from Bassus), T. ruficeps (Szépligeti). comb. nov. (from Bassus), T. rufithorax (Turner) comb. nov. (from Agathis), T. rufobrunneus (Turner) comb. nov. (from Agathis), T. rugosus (Turner) comb. nov. (from Bassus), T. tricolor (Szépligeti) comb nov. (from Bassus), and T. xanthopsis (Turner) comb. nov. (from Agathis). In addition, Bassus tenuissimus (Turner) is synonomised with T. ruficeps (Szépligeti) syn. nov., and Agathis dimidiata (Brullé) is designated a nomen dubium.

Abstract:
The main aim of this paper is to analyse the text of the 12th book of Geoponica for the purpose of identification of vegetable plants, which were described by Cassianus Bassus. The analysis will serve as the first step for further inquiries that will include the reconstruction of recipes that require some of the vegetables presented in the text. The text of Geoponica is a basic source learn about the agriculture but also the culinary art of the Byzantine Empire, even though it is rather hard to read due to the complicated style and quite a large number of technical terms (i.e. botanical, agronomical or astrological to name just a few). As already mentioned, the first part of the analysis is to identify the plants mentioned by Bassus, which will allow me to take further steps, i.e. to reconstruct the culinary recipes, in which the plants mentioned by the Author can be found. Without this precise identification, the reconstruction of the recipes would not be possible at all.In the 12th book of his Geoponica Bassus gave descriptions of several plants that should be taken into consideration while planning the garden, mostly for their medicinal or cooking properties. Amongst them, Author mentioned garlic, artichoke, melon, leek, radish, celery, and cucumbers. Having the rather big number of plants narrowed down will allow to demonstrate in vivo how they were served according to De re coquinaria by Apicius and present the practical usage of vegetables proposed by Bassus for cultivation. As Apicius’ cookbook is the only one preserved from Antiquity, it will remain the major source of the recipes presented in this paper.

Abstract:
AbstractTwo poets addressed by Propertius in his first book are in fact pseudonyms. Ponticus was formed on the model of Horace's Alpinus to designate someone who embodies the antithesis of the poet's Callimachean sensibilities. Bassus is none other than Horace himself, who was then in the course of writing iambics. In the eleventh epode, Horace responded in kind by creating the pseudonyms Pettius, Lyciscus and Inachia, all of which derive from aspects of Propertius' first book. This exchange between Horace and Propertius has echoes in their later work. We conclude by examining why Ovid seems to treat Ponticus and Bassus as real poets in the Tristia.

Abstract:
The Specialnik manuscript (HradKM II.A.7), from early sixteenth-century Bohemia, includes two well-known works with unique supplementary voices. One work, the final Agnus of Brumel's Missa Ut re mi fa sol la, includes an added bassus which deepens the composite range and animates the original without seriously disrupting it. An analysis of this movement shows why it was popular as an independent instrumental piece: it is clearly structured as statement and heightened reprise. The second work, Bedingham's "Fortune/Gentil madonna" contains a similar kind of bassus (as a substitute for the original contratenor) and also a triplum which exhibits characteristics of an idiomatic instrumental style. The Spec arrangement prompts a re-examination of the other sources and a demonstration that Bedingham's song originally called for a change from triple to duple mensuration in its B section.

Abstract:
One of the most effective geodynamical processes creating sedimentary basins is the continental rifting. Investigations performed in deep magma-poor rifted margins showed that the crust can be extremely extended and associated with low-angle detachment faulting. Therefore, the tectono-sedimentary models developed for classical hemigrabens of the most proximal domains of the margins cannot be applied to the distal margins. Unfortunately, due to access issues, this evolution remains poorly understood. This is the aim of this study focused on two fossil analogues (Alps and Pyrenees). Palinspastic restoration helped to restore the post-rift architecture of this type of basins preserving their syn-rift sedimentary record. This study shows that supra-detachment basins are controlled by the detachment faults flooring rift-basins. They are bounded by structural elements resulting from the hangingwall delamination during active exhumation (allochthons or detachment breakaway blocks). A syn-rift trilogy evolution can be observed as: 1) Onset of exhumation, with the hangingwall rupture during the basin opening over the exhumed fault plane. Deposition of hangingwall-derived basal facies tract. 2) Widening of the basin accommodated by the upstream footwall exhumation controls a source change to footwall derived deposits. 3) Tectonic cessation through the basin leads to develop the post-tectonic sequence consisting of passive infilling. Because of the cessation of active exhumation as the engine of the syn-rift gravity flows along the fault, this sequence is strongly dependent of a potential incoming sediment flux and its efficiency compare to post-tectonic space accommodation

Full text
Abstract:

Abstract:
This paper will provide the bases for the requirements in the Beyond Design Basis Events (BDBE) evaluation performed in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), Section XI, Code Case (CC). The CC provides rules to facilitate the affected components Return to Service (RTS) after a BDBE magnitude Earthquake. The paper describes the bases for the examination of Reactor Coolant Pressure Boundary (RCPB) Structures, Systems and Components (SSCs) for determining the actual seismic loading and magnitude. The implications of the examination data based on design allowable stress values. The pipe loads determined shall be used to calculate stresses on the pumps and valves. The paper also describes the methodology for seismic events lasting longer than 100 cycles. The Cumulative Usage Factor (U) due to the event is calculated from individual cycles as; U = U1 + U2 + U3 + ... + Un. Aftershocks are accounted for in the methodology. Fatigue usage from the event that increases the total U to a value greater than 0.8 shall be included as high risk location(s) in the ASME BPVC, Section XI, Inservice Inspection (ISI) Program.
