Abstract:
The practice of mock bank is an institutional arrangement to expose potential bankers to basic rudiments of banking operations with the ultimate aim of increasing the profitability of the organization through employee performance. This study assessed the impact of mock bank practices on employee performance in the banking sector as a panacea for repositioning the Nigerian economy with a specific focus on Union Bank Plc. The objective is to examine the contributions of operational experience to staff, ascertain the impact of professional ethics on commercial banks in Nigeria and identify the contributions of knowledge of organizational structure on the operations of commercial banks. T-statistics was used to test the three hypotheses. Results showed that there is a significant relationship between experienced, knowledge of job ethics, and organizational structure by employees before recruitment and performance at the workplace when compared to those recruited before training. Further results revealed that employees that had mock bank experiences perform better with less supervision. It was recommended that reinforcement of mock bank practices in tertiary institutions in Nigeria and allotment of higher credit units to mock bank practice should be encouraged.

Abstract:
Stephen Onasanya had successfully steered First Bank through a three-year period of accelerated corporate transformation and growth, as the institution emerged from the global financial crisis of 2008. At the core of the bank’s transformation lay a new organizational structure. In 2010 the bank had transitioned from a geography-based to a customer-based organizational structure, and redesigned its nationwide coverage and deployment model to align with the new organization. In August 2012, it was apparent that the restructuring had been successful. Apart from the impressive financial results the bank had posted, significant progress had been made on many non-financial measures, including customer satisfaction. Nevertheless, Onasanya was not completely satisfied. He wondered what more could be done to make the new organizational structure deliver even better results, and help realize the bank’s ambitious vision of becoming Nigeria’s bank of first choice.

Abstract:
Purpose: This paper aims to explain the organizational structure of Rastin Profit and Loss Sharing (PLS) Banking. Rastin Banking is a full Islamic Banking System with all necessary parts for banking operations that can be installed in conventional and Islamic banks both. Design: Rastin Banking complies with the nature of the financial intermediary activity (the partnership of depositor in the yields of the fund receiver via the bank). To fulfill this goal, particular organizational structure, accompanying with instruments and workflow are defined. Findings: To handle Rastin Banking, particular theoretical and operational regulatory frameworks should be defined to fulfill the participation operations. In this paper, we will have a look at the necessary organizational structure to setup Rastin Banking. Research limitations: This plan was formed and tested in Bank Melli Iran in order to propose a model for other banks as well. Practical implications: In this system, the investment return of the participation is distributed to the parties of the financial partnership (depositor, entrepreneur, and bank), and it is done by eliminating fixed interest rate, and it is based on the real economy profit (return) of the activity. Social implications: Rastin Banking can lead to important positive effects on growth and economic welfare through money and capital markets. Interest rate as an essential factor in conventional banking is not usable in Islamic banking and other similar institutions that work based on partnership, such as mutual funds and saving and loan associations. Originality/value: Approach of this system is entirely different from conventional banking. In addition to removing usury in banking activities, Rastin Banking uses the best practical ethic finance to creating safe and public confidence environment for banking operations. Abstract:
In the context of the fact that the structure of the Vietnamese banking market has undergone many fluctuations, which has had an impact on banking activities, and the fact that many related studies have been carried out, but the answer is still limited and inconsistent, it is necessary to study the impact of the market structure on banking operations in Vietnam. The paper comprehensively examines the impact of market structure on various aspects of bank performance in Vietnam. The study uses three measures of the structure of the banking industry, namely, the total market share of the largest banks, the squared market share of all banks according to the Herfindahl-Hirshchman index, and the Lerner index on market power (inverse bank competition), to ensure the results are not dependent on any specific measure. The paper applies the two-step system generalized method of moments estimator to conduct regression analysis for a sample of 30 banks from 2007 to 2021. All obtained estimates generally show positive effects on bank performance due to greater market power and higher banking concentration. Concretely, more market power and greater concentration improve bank asset quality, management efficiency, bank profitability, and lending capacity. Overall, the findings of this paper all support the bright side of less competition and more concentration, which is essential to derive policy implications related to supervising competitive environments and stimulating consolidated financial systems. Abstract:
This paper explores the linkage between organizational structure and cross-cultural management. It suggests that a fluid and continuously evolving structure enables effective crosscultural management. In support of this proposition, the paper reports on the experience of one of the world's largest financial services corporations – a Swiss Bank. The bank adopted a different type of organizational structure for one of its units. This new structure was different from the traditional bureaucracy it had used throughout the 150 years of its existence. It was observed to be an emergent structure, evolving in response to the stimulants provided by its various cultural constituents. It was also flexible, allowing it to assimilate when necessary, the inputs provided by its diverse cultural constituents, and discard when necessary, the structural features which no longer served any useful purpose. This paper discusses and analyses the experience of Credit Suisse Private Banking's Project Copernicus in Singapore, (October 2000 – December 2001). The principal findings of this paper are: Traditional modes of organizational structure are not appropriate for the management of diversity. Fluid and amorphous organizational structures provide the context within which crosscultural management can be effected. There is a symbiotic relationship between organizational structure and organizational members' cultural heritage. The author had earlier highlighted (2005) the fact that current cross-cultural management research emphasises the need for multiculturalism. Multiculturalism is the management of subcultures within an entity like the nation-state. Organizational structures need to be designed keeping in mind the dynamics of interacting sub-cultures within a multicultural organization. An analysis of the case study embedded in this paper reveals that cross-cultural management is facilitated by: The co-evolution of organizational structure and management practices. In other words, organizational structure need not be durable as has traditionally been the case. Additionally, it need not precede the creation and operationalization of management practices. Allowing individual members' cultural heritage to influence the evolving nature of organizational structure. Thus a manager entering a multicultural organization would try and align himself⁄herself with the existing structure. Co-terminously, he⁄she would impact on the structure's design. The impact would have cultural underpinnings. Enacting an organizational structure that overtly takes into account the cultural conditioning of individual members. Thus two managers from different cultures experiencing difficulty in interacting with each other may both have to adapt and change in order to sresolve discord as well as to find a fit with the organization. Meanwhile, the amorphous nature of the organizational structure makes possible the improvisation that accompanies managers' attempts to find a fit.

Abstract:
Firm performance is the ultimate concern among stakeholders. The research objectives are two-fold—to determine the mediator role of knowledge management and innovative capability in driving performance among commercial banks in Thailand, and to provide recommendations and contributions based on the relevant findings. The sample comprising 600 bank officers from the six biggest commercial banks in Thailand was selected using the multi-stage sampling method. A questionnaire was used as the data collection tool and the data were analyzed via structural equation modeling (SEM). The empirically collected data generates a fit conceptual model (x2/df = 1.179, p = 0.116, GFI = 0.976, AGF = 0.951, CFI = 0.978, NFI = 0.970, and RMSEA = 0.011). In the findings, organizational structure, organizational strategy, intellectual capital, innovative capability, and knowledge management have a direct influence on firm performance (p < 0.05). Knowledge management and innovative capability were found to be mediators in the paths of organizational structure, organizational culture, intellectual capital, and firm performance (p < 0.05).

Abstract:
We develop the beginnings of a grounded theory of entrepreneurship based on the idea that entrepreneurship, in terms of a changing opportunity structure–-consisting of opportunity detection, opportunity facilitation and motivation to pursue opportunity–-can be viewed through a paradoxical perspective that considers the interplay of organizational and individual capabilities as virtuous and vicious spirals across time. The virtuous spiral led toward successful change because of supportive organizational and individual capabilities across time. The vicious spiral led away from successful change because of countervailing organizational and individual capabilities. Paradoxically, however, we found that entrepreneurship developed in both types of spirals. We discuss these points based on two case studies of Finnish banks and bank managers within the fundamentally changing opportunity structure of the banking business in the late 1980s.

Abstract:
Co-operative banks are more structured compared to credit associations. While local branches of cooperative banks can pick their own leaders and manage their own tasks, big decisions need to be approved by a main office. Credit associations frequently exercise significant local fundamental leadership, but by joining forces, they can share back-office functions including access to the global payments system. This essay provides background information on cooperative banks and small bank groups. Co-operative banks have more information available than "little establishments" as a whole cooperative banking systems exhibit greater organizational structure compared to credit association systems. Local branches of cooperative banks have autonomy in selecting their executive candidates and managing their operations. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) encounter unique challenges in their development compared to large enterprises. The competitive market environment demands that SMEs adapt to the survival-of-the-fittest dynamics inherent in a market economy. In essence, this translates to a competition for human resources, making staff training a crucial method for SMEs aiming at long-term, stable development. Staff training serves as a fundamental approach to elevate the quality of human resources within SMEs. The paper provides background information on cooperative banks and small bank groups, highlighting their organizational structure and decision-making processes. It emphasizes the importance of staff training in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for long-term, stable development, as it enhances the quality of human resources and improves overall productivity and competitiveness. The paper discusses the role of corporate culture in SMEs, stating that cultivating a positive corporate culture can enhance cohesion, employee loyalty, motivation, and job satisfaction, ultimately fostering productivity and innovative outcomes. It also highlights that a strong corporate culture can be a unique selling proposition for SMEs in attracting and retaining top talent. Additionally, the paper mentions the significance of cooperative banks in rural financing and their growing activity in metropolitan areas, contributing to the local economy and employment generation.

Abstract:
This research scrutinizes the array of strategies deployed in managing waste banks across Indonesia, highlighting the nation's efforts to tackle the growing challenge of waste management. By analyzing data from existing literature and documentary sources, the study aims to understand how waste banks operate within the Indonesian context thoroughly. It reveals that the success of these waste banks varies significantly across different regions, pointing to a complex interplay of factors influencing their effectiveness. The findings of this research are particularly revealing, uncovering three main factors that influence the effectiveness of waste bank management: the availability of human and financial resources, the quality of organizational communication, and the organization's overall structure. These factors are crucial in determining how well waste banks function. Regions with adequate resources and efficient communication channels better manage waste effectively.

Abstract:
Organizational development in banks management systems (ODBMS) is a complex phenomenon of a sustainable and multifunctional nature. The goal of ODBMS is to generate creative ideas and implement changes in order to provide an appropriate level of rational interaction between the ODBMS subjects. It leads to an achievement of the expected economic and managerial results.Organizational changes that are accompanied by organizational development in the BMS can be controlled and spontaneous, positive and negative. The idea of the article is to reveal the methodical aspects of the managed organizational development of the BMS, with expected positive effects. It would be shown that the offered ideas can be used for achieving organizational goals, avoiding the organizational entropy, increasing the creative activity of bank employees, in particular, in developing new banking products, expanding the opportunities of Internet banking, etc.Achieving certain positive effects from the implementation of organizational changes in the BMS requires a high level of managers awareness about the state of implementation of the goals of the bank’s organizational development, the methods of their implementation, factors that affect the achievement of these goals. In this context, fundamental information about the structure and links in the BMS is important as well as operational information that characterizes the level of completeness and implementation quality of the specific banking officers’ duties. In the article the features of ODBMS are solved, based on the application of the provisions of morphological analysis and set theory. The proposed provisions are considered through the prism of two criteria – the level of managerial awareness and predictability of the results of the organizational changes implementation.

Abstract:
The study examined the relationship between organizational culture and employee efficiency among commercial banks in Nigeria. Primary data was gathered by means of a self administered questionnaire. to select 223 respondents using simple random sampling technique, and out of which 218 were retrieved. the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSSS) was adopted to analyze collected data. The findings revealed that organizational processes and structures were significant predictors of employee efficiency. As a result, the staff’s familiarity with the organizational processes and structure, their efficiency levels. Arising from these findings, it is recommended that all bank employees should become familiar with and committed to the corporate culture. Appropriate incentives should be offered to employees. These should not be restricted to monetary rewards, but should include recognition of their performance and present opportunities to achieve individual goals and aspirations. Abstract:
To ensure the financial stability of Indonesian banks, especially Sharia banks, it is essential to focus on various factors and elements. This study investigates the endogenous and exogenous factors influencing the financial stability of Sharia banks in Indonesia. The study utilized data from the annual financial statements of Sharia banks in Indonesia spanning from 2010 to 2021. Panel data regression served as the analytical tool for the research. The findings indicate that the stability of Sharia commercial banks in Indonesia is influenced by both capital structure and credit risk. Financial leverage also affects sharia bank’s financial stability. While ownership distinguishes a bank in terms of organizational structure, it does not necessarily guarantee stability. Islamic commercial banks remain stable amid the COVID-19 pandemic, showing no significant impact on their overall stability. These findings will enhance bank understanding of the risks faced by banks and form the basis for new regulatory efforts to strengthen overall risk management, including liquidity risk and credit risk.

Abstract:
This paper aims to address the effects of organizational change as one of the key issues in management ethics today. The paper is based on the deductive and inductive approaches. The comparability analysis of the data was done with the application software for statistical analysis SPSS as a tool for data entry, organizing the entry of received data through which the similarities and differences between the different variables in relation to the purpose of the research are applied. This paper highlights that organizational ethics comprises the guidelines on how an organization responds to the external environment. The main implications of the paper: (i) Cultural changes are the factor that is usually not taken seriously during the changes that occur in the Bank, therefore the organizational structure created in the institution has determined the need for that culture to change in accordance with new changes so that the staff of the organization is in line with those changes; (ii) better change management skills are not only desirable, but they are also necessary for achieving vital improvements in the Bank; (iii) Ensuring that all staff members are informed of what changes will be made by management is a kind of "selling" of the changes through good and regular communication to the audience within the Bank

Abstract:
The compliance organizational unit, in a legal environment dictated by changes to the regulations of 2017, is a key organizational unit in the bank’s organizational structure, which has been assigned tasks related to the broadly understood risk compliance management. For the proper functioning of compliance organizational unit, it was guaranteed its proper location and the status of the head of the compliance organizational unit and employees performing these tasks. In contrast, the compliance risk management process, understood from 2017 as a set of specific elements and tasks (identification, assessment, control, monitoring and reporting), is one of the key processes that make up the bank’s risk management system.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to examine the characteristics of banks that were the target of intervention in the form of bailout or failure during the financial crisis and, of those subjected to intervention, what characteristics distinguish those that received bailout funds from those that were deemed failures. Design/methodology/approach The study estimates a series of logit regressions in an effort to identify the causes of regulatory intervention while controlling for bank-level characteristics and the economic and regulatory environment. Findings The empirical results indicate that many of the same characteristics associated with banks receiving bailout funds are similar to the characteristics associated with failed banks. However, non-performing loans increased the likelihood of failure, but reduced the likelihood of a bank receiving Capital Purchase Program (CPP) funds, suggesting that regulatory authorities discriminated in their use of CPP funds based on the quality of a bank’s asset portfolio. Further, those banks located in states with limits on de novo branching and those banks that are part of a multi-bank holding company structure were less likely to fail but were more likely to receive CPP funds. Originality/value This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of regulatory intervention in the banking industry during the late 2000s financial crisis and the impact of different banking organizational structures, economic circumstances, and financial fragility on the likelihood of a bank failing or receiving bailout funds.

Abstract:
The great reforms of Alexander II contributed to the development of a network of state and non-state bank-ing institutions. Non-state credit organizations such as commercial banks not only lent to different sectors of the domestic economy, but also brought financial dividends to the holders of their shares. Commercial banks played the role of intermediaries between persons with free capital and citizens of the Russian Empire who needed additional financial resources. The activities of private bank institutions were aimed at supporting the people of the Russian Empire by providing various banking services. The author explores the activities of commercial banks in the context of the development of capitalist relations in the reformed Russia. The activity of lending to the Don population by central and local commercial banks is considered separately. On the basis of statistical materials, it describes the operations of the Azov-Don commercial bank. The organizational structure of the Azov-Don commercial bank is investigated. Its activity is considered as financial discount, issue of loans and reception of deposits.

Abstract:
The paper investigates the capital structure of companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) from an organizational life cycle perspective, seen as a determinant of the decisions to finance operations and growth. For this purpose, the life cycle is measured according to the cash flows patterns. Motivated by the pecking-order theory (POT) and carried out on a sample of 59 companies in the period 2010-2020, the study uses a Least Squares Dummy Variable (LSDV) panel data model and shows that listed Romanian companies resort more to bank financing in the initial stages of their life cycle. As they reach the maturity and shake-out stages, companies reorient towards internal financial resources and equity issuance, which is in line with the POT. Furthermore, the age of companies has a rather weak effect on the financial leverage, and its effect diminishes as firms age. The results also confirm the importance of having a high level of tangible fixed assets as collateral for bank loans, but also the significant role of the industry and geographical positioning on the degree of external financing.

Abstract:
For effective investment activity of banks, it is necessary to optimize and manage the bank's securities portfolio. The modern portfolio management system has a sufficient arsenal of effective tools, including a number of principles and approaches. The volatility of the Kazakhstan stock market requires the accounting service to pay increased attention to the main function of professional financial agents (including commercial banks) - resource management. The multi-dimensionality of the modern investment portfolio of a commercial bank goes beyond the traditional "accounting" model, that is, the description of the results of portfolio management activities by drawing up the balance sheet. Accordingly, within the framework of the organization of the subject of financial activity, the problem of managing the investment portfolio, building a model and technological implementation arises.Given the huge potential of theoretical developments in the field of portfolio management, Kazakhstan's commercial banks are lagging behind in the practical implementation of management models. Decision-making within the standard organizational structure of commercial banks does not reflect the current capabilities and requirements for resource management. With the development of the Internet and information technologies in Kazakhstan, the time allocated to top managers for making managerial decisions has sharply decreased. Thus, it is necessary not only to develop a model of resource management in the financial markets, its practical implementation has also become a factor in the competitiveness of a commercial bank. The relevance of the study lies in the lack of a comprehensive approach to the practical implementation of the investment portfolio management process, starting with the creation of the organizational structure of a commercial bank and ending with the introduction of management models based on improved information.

Abstract:
Purpose Efficiency of a commercial bank affects both its competitiveness and the role it plays in the process of economic development. Although great efforts have been exerted in developing the various aspects of banking efficiency, there seems to be a lack of research on examining the impact of the bank efficiency from the employee wage perspective. The mechanism of how employee wage affects commercial bank efficiency and the relationship between the two were analyzed in this paper. Based on the growing body of research on efficiency in banking, the aim of this paper is to examine if competitiveness of employee wages at any commercial bank has any impact on the bank efficiency score. Design/methodology/approach The method used was quantitative analysis, which was based on comparing the evaluated efficiencies of the banks with employee wages published in the bank reports. The empirical data in this paper were based on 16 Chinese listed commercial banks from 2004 to 2012. The per capita wage of commercial banks was selected as the wage indicator, and the efficiency value obtained by the slack-based measure (SBM) model was selected as the efficiency indicator. According to the calculated data, the Tobit regression model was built to analyze the relationship between employee wage and commercial bank efficiency. Findings The research results show that employee wage is the key variable that influences the efficiency of Chinese commercial banks, and the inverted U-shaped relationship between employee wage and commercial banks efficiency shows up. Practical implications The wage structure data of the composition of basic pay and bonus were not available at the time of conducting the research. Per capita wages were used instead to reflect the employee wage levels of Chinese banks. Originality/value This study can provide some help for the banking industry by analyzing the wage levels from the perspective of efficiency and also further enriches the theoretical system of the relationship between employee wage and bank efficiency.

This paper aims to determine the level of information technology governance available in the commercial bank (Bank Audi - Najaf branch) using the seven components of COBIT represented. These elements constitute principles, policies, frameworks, processes, organizational structure, culture, ethics, behaviors, information, skills, experience, services, and infrastructure. The research uses the statistical method through a survey of administrators and managers in the Audi Bank - Najaf branch to determine the level of information technology governance available and compare it with the COBIT model, a tool for controlling information technology. The results show that applying information technology governance mechanisms in Iraqi commercial banks can reduce audit risks assessed by external auditors, increase the reliability of accounting information systems, and support information security in light of electronic accounting systems. Finally, applying a model to measure information technology governance in Iraqi commercial banks under the framework COBIT will be a standard measure of the level of governance of information technology and help these banks reduce risk.

Abstract:
Post-merger cultural integration is very important and fundamental for companies that carry out mergers. Because the implementation of a merger or merger of two or more different entities poses challenges to changes in organizational structure, organizational culture and corporate systems. As in the research of K. Bijlsma-Frankema who examines the success factors of cultural integration and the process of cultural change in mergers and acquisitions. With research on the effects of friction between structure and culture, as well as friction between different cultures, on organizational functioning. The purpose of this study is to determine how the process of developing new culture integration policies in Bank Syariah Indonesia mergers, implementation strategies and the implications of implementing new culture integration in Bank Syariah Indonesia mergers. This research uses qualitative methods, where the object of research is seven relevant BSI employees. The main theory used in this study is the theory of Organizational Culture developed by Cortina which is a guideline for integrating culture successfully in the organization that carries out the merger. The theory of Seven Steps to Merger Excellence Hill, R. Weiner and Weiner and the supporting theory initiated by Picot related to three strategies in cultural integration. In the implementation of new cultural integration, BSI has 3 stages of implementation, namely; (1) Diagnostic, (2) Activation, and (3) Destination. The results showed that the new culture integration (NCI) process in the BSI merger did not run instantly, but through the process of pre-merger, planning, implementation, and evaluation. NCI Implementation Strategy in BSI merger with optimization of the role of leaders to provide inspiration and motivation to all employees. The implications of NCI in the BSI merger lie in changes in structure, products and human resources.

Abstract:
The study examined the relationship between the legal liquidity ratio and profitability of Jordanian commercial banks over 18 years from 2003 to 2021. The research employed a longitudinal research design using secondary data obtained from the Central Bank of Jordan’s annual reports. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that there is a significant negative relationship between the legal liquidity ratio and profitability in the short term, while in the long term, there is a significant positive relationship between the legal liquidity ratio and profitability. The study also found that the size of the bank has a significant positive impact on profitability, while the age of the bank has a significant negative impact on profitability. Furthermore, the ownership structure of the bank was found to have a significant positive impact on profitability. The study recommends that commercial banks in Jordan should maintain a balanced legal liquidity ratio to ensure short-term stability while aiming for long-term profitability. Banks should also consider their size, age, and ownership structure when making decisions regarding their legal liquidity ratio and profitability.
