Abstract:
This essay discusses translation as the primary factor in the creation of Indian literature in general and Bangla literature in the medieval period. The term "translation" that was used to describe the accommodation of numerous literatures after reception, adaption, influence, and translation in mediaeval Bangla was liberal. We discover several facets and definitions of translation while reading mediaeval Bangla literature, despite the word translation not being used. However, identical actions took place while disguising them as resistance and social welfare. This study does not investigate the original mediaeval texts; instead, it surveys Bangla-language literary histories of Bangla literature and traces how the literary historian(s) viewed the process of mediaeval translation. In order to support the idea of the Indian school of translation, this study incorporated diverse objectives, strategies, and conceptions of the poets involved in translating a book from Sanskrit, Persian, or any other language into Bangla. The focus of this essay is on issues like the origin of language, linguistic and cultural identity, resistance, and the function of translation in relation to all these elements. It also reads mediaeval translation as a component of a larger literary, political, and cultural system.

Abstract:
Heavy menstrual bleeding or abnormal bleeding is most common problems in females in present era due to improper diet habits, sleeping habits due to increasing degrees of civilisation. There are various treatment on heavy menstrual flow like hormonal replacement therapy where there is hormonal imbalancement, Anti fibrinolytics drugs in dysfunctional uterine bleeding available today. According to Ayurveda it can be correlated with Raktapradar. Various drugs are suggested in raktapradar in classical text. In this study efficacy of Sphatik bhasma (potassium aluminium sulphate also known as potassium alum or potashalum, has a molecular formulae of K2(SO4).Al2(SO4)3.24H2O) as haemostatic drug is observed through clinical trial. The clinical study was conducted on 15 patients having heavy menstrual bleeding. Interventional drug Sphatik Bhasma with pakwa kadali phala (banana or Musa paradisiaca) is administered for 3 days. The clinical assessment was done on the basis of grading criteria of Rakta Pradar like amount and duration of bleeding, pain, burning sensation and weakness and were assessed on mean scores before and after treatment and analysed. The results were statistically and clinically highly significant in Raktapradar.

Abstract:
Bengali language has been declared as the state language of the Republic in Article 3 of the Constitution of Bangladesh. Bengali is our mother tongue and we have achieved this at the cost of much blood. Moreover Bangla Bhasha Procholon Ain (Bengali Language Implementation Act) was made in 1987 for ensuring compulsory use of Bengali in courts and offices of Bangladesh. In spite of these provisions, English is still used in the judicial system (Higher Courts) in Bangladesh. Often delivering of judgments in English creates various problems for poor and illiterate person. People in our country speak in Bengali. Language of courts should follow the language of the common people. An attempt has been made in this article to assess the status and the enforceability of Bengali language with historical background, limitations of bringing into practice and some necessary measures for effective use of Bengali language in the courts. Di samping itu, kajian tentang sejarah hukum Islam di Indonesia juga dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu pijakan bagi umat Islam secara khusus untuk menentukan strategi yang tepat di masa depan dalam mendekatkan dan “mengakrabkan” bangsa ini dengan hukum Islam. Tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa umat Islam di Indonesia adalah unsur paling mayoritas. Dalam tataran dunia Islam internasional, umat Islam Indonesia bahkan dapat disebut sebagai komunitas muslim paling besar yang berkumpul dalam satu batas teritorial kenegaraan. maka ada beberapa pengidentifikasian masalah mengenai hal itu yaitu bagaimana perkembangan serta karakteristik Hukum Islam pada zaman penjajahan Belanda dan Jepang. Oleh karena itu karakteristik hukum Islam di Indonesia pada zaman penjajahan Belanda, para ahli sejarah hukum membaginya menjadi dua periode: pertama, periode penerimaan hukum Islam sepenuhnya atau yang biasa disebut reseption in Complexu. Kedua, periode penerimaan hukum Islam oleh hukum adat yang biasa disebut teori receptie. Karakteristik hukum Islam di Indonesia pada zaman penjajahan Jepang yaitu mengenai posisi hukum Islam dalam system hukum nasional pada masa kolonial Jepang tidak ada perubahan yang berarti dari periode sebelumnya. Hanya merubah nama-nama lembaga yang ada pada masa penjajahan Belanda ke dalam bhasa Jepang.

Abstract:
The feminism movement in the field of classical literature in Bali is known to rise after a female au- thor struggling from the Dutch intervention. This female figure was Ida I Dewa Agung Istri Kania. She had compiled several literary works through her criticism and “lango”, either herself or accompanied by her pupils. The forms of her works are kakawin, kidung, geguritan, and tutur. The most popular work is Kakawin Pralambang Bhasa Wewatekan. This Kakawin tells about death body burning cere- mony (Patiwa-tiwa and Baligya). It describes the entrance of Dutch into Bali and the struggle to fight against in Kusamba, Klungkung. There is also a story concerning the memorandum of understanding between Klungkung, Gianyar, Bangli, and Payangan. These stories come along with several other sto- ries behind some factual events made in Kusamba, Sweta Lombok, Tabanan, as well as in Klungkung. It is very interesting that the phenomenal Ida I Dewa Agung Istri Kania is analyzed on the sociology of literature viewpoint. It is supposed to have significance for the younger and future generations, at least in Bali. The Balinese society must be proud of having their own hero, King, who is an author of the classical works. She is a mirror, figure to take as an example of nobleness for the nation, particularly the younger female generations.

Abstract:
The 21st February is celebrated as the International Mother Language Day to commemorate the sacrifice of Bangladeshis who struggled to keep their mother tongue (Bangla) alive. The day is also celebrated to mark respect for world’s indigenous languages (Bhasha), which are on the verge of decline and demise. Notwithstanding the fact that, increasingly, English has gained most of the linguistic ground world over, the tacit and now most vocal resistance to ‘English imperialism’ is witnessed in at least the third world countries like India and its neighbors. In fact, because of extraordinary intervention of ICT and virtual world promoters like social media, the question of English has come to be the Shakespearian question in Hamlet; “to be or not to be”. The moot point is, should we resign and accept English as fait accompali or to think of alternative ways to turn ‘English advantage’ to our side without denying the fact that indigenous languages are disappearing at an alarming rate. As far as English in multilingual, multicultural and multireligious context like that of India is concerned, one must remember that language is a cultural product and also the potent vehicle to transit culture. Language is not only the medium but also the creator of thoughts and truth. These functions of language are necessarily associated with one’s mother tongue as these are the markers of one’s identity. Indian philosopher of language Bharthari (570 AD) said that language constructs our world; jagat sarvein sabdein bhashatei (we take cognizance of the world through language). Therefore construction of meaning is at the centre of language use, which is manifested through literature resulting in gyan (knowledge) and anand (bliss), the twin objectives of literature obtainable through indigenous literature created in mother tongues. The dwindling ecological diversity and declining linguistic diversity are the two greatest challenges before the world in modern times. The following research article discusses why we should care for promoting linguistic diversity (Bhasha) and solutions thereof.

This paper has two parts. In the first part (§§ 2‑3) we cover some of the resources that the Kashmiri sarcast draws on. In the second part (§§ 4‑6) we explore a particular formulaic construction that we maintain is specifically dedicated to the expression of sarcasm, not only in Kashmiri but in most languages of the Indo‑Aryan family – with the possible exception of Bangla and its neighbours. Since this construction occurs in some but not all the major Dravidian languages, it may be regarded as another feature or ‘trait’ of the South Asian Linguistic Area first adumbrated by Emeneau (1956) and further extended by Masica (1976).

Abstract:
Introduction: Padole-dole can be interpreted as rolling which aims to increase the body's resistance of children who have physical and psychological illnesses but has not been explored comprehensively in previous studies regarding the cleanliness of tools and materials, ingredients, massage/rolling techniques, and effects on child's resistance. The Padole-dole tradition is carried out by rolling the child on a banana leaf smeared with coconut oil. This study aims to explore the Padole-dole tradition of the Butonese tribe in increasing the child's immune system. Method: This study used a qualitative research method with a purposive sampling technique on 7 mothers as participants. The research took place for 3 months in Wanci Village, Wangi-Wangi Selatan District, Wakatobi Regency. Data collection was carried out by in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation using data analysis according to Raco. Result: This study resulted in five themes, namely (1) the terms and processes of the Padole-dole tradition, (2) the symbolic meaning of the Padole-dole tradition, (3) the functions and benefits of Padole-dole, (4) the experience of Bhisa (shaman) in the Padole tradition. -dole (5) Lack of knowledge and perception of body health and the meaning of Padole-dole tools and materials. Discussion: The Padole-dole tradition in its implementation process uses several tools, materials, and techniques that require certain requirements so that it can be used in the Padole-dole procession also produce symbolic meanings and benefits for infants and toddlers such as massage techniques rolling sideways and banana leaves which directly impact for infants and toddlers because of its technique and content, it is also supported by the experience of Bhisa (shaman) who has healed infants and toddlers and can convince the community that the Padole-dole tradition is a traditional method that is beneficial to the health of infants and toddlers. Assamese literature and language has gained the present status by coming across various levels. The historians of literature have divided the Assamese literary eras by examining the style of composition, language, thoughts, ideals, themes etc of the literature written in the language from the era of origin till now. While dividing this era, Charyapad has been included as one of the most important examples of early age. On the basis of numerous reliable information, Charyapads are considered as the first written specimen of Assamese literature. In order to promote the worship of Buddha religion and theory among the masses, the Siddhacharyas of Sahajayana doctrine, the recent path of Tantrayana branch under Mahayana Buddhism composed the Charyapadas. In 1907, the Mahamahopadhyaya Har Prasad Shastri discovered the Charyapadas from the royal court of Nepal and in 1916 he published it as ‘Hajar Bochhorer Purono Bangala Bhasay Bouddha Gaan o Doha’. From the ancient era, the textbooks get disappeared in the womb of time due to various reasons. In consequence to that the written specimen of Assamese literature before 14th Century B.C have been found as inadequate.

This study outlines a methodological framework for reconstructing linguistic history within a dialect continuum and applies this methodology to an under-described, controversial, and complex subgroup of New Indo-Aryan (NIA)—the Kamta, Rajbanshi and Northern Deshi Bangla lects (KRNB). ¶ Dialect continua are characterised by non-discrete boundaries between speech communities, and as a result previously divergent lects may undergo common innovations; the result is the familiar picture of overlapping dialectological isoglosses. The sequencing of these innovations and the historical relations between the lects involved are often highly ambiguous. Given the right sociohistorical conditions, a widespread innovation may be more recent than a localised innovation—the very opposite sequencing to that implied by the splits in a family tree. ¶ Not surprisingly, discrete application to the NIA continuum of traditional methodologies—including the Comparative Method, etymological reconstruction and dialect geography—has yielded unsatisfactory and at times chronologically distorted results. Historical studies, therefore, have chosen between: (a) only studying the histories of NIA lects with written records; (b) reconstructing using the chronology suggested by the shape of a family tree; or (c) settling for a ‘flat’, non-historical account of dialect geography. ¶ Under the approach developed here, the strengths of each of these traditional methods are synthesised within an overarching framework provided by a sociohistorical theory of language change. This synthesis enables the linguistic history of the KRNB lects to be reconstructed with some detail from the proto-Kamta stage (1250-1550 AD) up to the present day. Innovations are sequenced based on three types of criteria: linguistic, textual and sociohistorical. The old Kamta stage, and its relation to old Bangla and Asamiya, is reconstructed based on linguistic Propagation Events and Speech Community Events—two concepts central to the methodology. The old Kamta speech community and its language became divided into western, central and eastern subsections during the middle KRNB period (1550-1787 AD, dates assigned by attested sociohistorical events). During the same period, KRNB lects also underwent partial reintegration with NIA lects further afield by means of more widely propagated changes. This trend of differentiation at a local level, concurrent with reintegration at a wider level, also characterises the modern KRNB period from 1787 AD to the present. ¶ This account of KRNB linguistic history is based on a rigorous reconstruction of changes in phonology and morphology. The result is not only a reconstruction of historical changes, but of the proto-Kamta phoneme inventory, hundreds of words of vocabulary, and specific areas of nominal and verbal morphology. The reconstruction is based on data collected in the field for the purposes of this study. Phonological reconstruction has made use of the WordCorr software program, and the reconstructed vocabulary is presented in a comparative wordlist in an appendix. ¶ The methodology developed and applied in this study has been found highly successful; though naturally not without its own limitations. This study has significance for its contribution both to the methodology of historical linguistic reconstruction and to the light shed on the linguistic prehistory of KRNB.
