Abstract:

Abstract Language identification is a complex process. In most cases, the processes of language identification by governmental agencies are based on their political compulsions and intentions. Even objective studies made by linguists are not free from the flaws of their philosophical background. This kind of lack of objectivity in establishing linguistic identities may lead to linguistic right movements. In this context, an ethnolinguistic analysis to establish the identity of a language becomes important. The cases of Balmiki and Kupia represent a situation where the linguistic identities of many languages are equally disputable due to the lack of scientific and objective studies. They are listed as different languages in many governmental and non-governmental reports. Linguists who have worked on these languages held the view that Balmiki is an isolated language spoken in Odisha only and is certainly different from Kupia, which is spoken in Andhra Pradesh. The present study attempts to ascertain the ethnolinguistic position of Balmiki vis-à-vis Kupia using bibliographical evidence. It concludes that Balmiki and Kupia are one and the same language. It also finds that it is well recorded and studied by different scholars since long.

Abstract:

Over the last three decades, India has experienced rapid economic development and social and cultural transformation. Questions arise as to how minorities secure their livelihood and what strategies are being devised for the same. And, what vision of the future do they have in mind? In this article, I will focus on the Dalit community in North India. Fieldwork conducted on one such disadvantaged group, the urban Balmikis (known as the sweeper caste) in Delhi, is drawn upon to examine as a case study. Balmikis have a high rate of migration to urban areas, which is due to their historical background of being employed in the sanitation sector of municipalities and the Ministry of Railways since the colonial times. The name of the community, Balmiki, is derived from worshipping “Bhagwan Valmik,” a legendary saint and composer of Ramayana. It began to take root as a name with positive connotations among the sweeper caste in North India around the 1920s and 1930s. Because of this historical development, it is often accused of discrediting Dalits who dissent from Hindu values and for hindering Dalit solidarity. However, if one listens to the claims of the Balmikis, they do not necessarily consider themselves "Hindus”. For example, during my research, a frequent response to questions about religion was the statement, "We are forced to be Hindus”. In contrast, the words that immediately follow, "We are Balmikis," are restated. By focusing on the beliefs and ambiguity of self-identity of the Balmikis, this article attempts to examine their anti-caste imagination. It then poses the question as to how that imagination is intertwined with everyday experiences and collective grassroots movements.

Abstract:

Numeral systems are the major counting methods found across languages. They are characterised by unique morphosyntactic structures to show numericity. The efficiency of communicating numbers is related to the morphological construction of numerals. These are also valuable sources for genetic classification. Besides, they play a vital role in establishing the antiquity of a cognate language. Peculiarly, the numeral systems of languages are the most vulnerable to elimination due to major or dominant languages. The quest in this article is to analyse the numeral morphology of Balmiki, a lesser-known language spoken in Odisha, and compare it with that of Kupia, a language spoken in Andhra Pradesh by the B/Valmiki community, to determine if their numeral structures are concealed or influenced by their encroaching languages. This study further contests a louder outbreak created during 2016-18 to ‘discover the Walmiki language’ by analysing a few unreliable numeral examples. In a series, this is the second study that compares and propounds conclusively to the fact that how these duo languages shed light on shared characteristics of numerals inherited or descended in other Indo-Aryan traditions from an etymological ancestor.

<div><p><em>Half of the scheduled caste (SC) girl students were in the age group of 16-18 years followed by 33.0 per cent who were above 18 years of age and the age of remaining 17.0 per cent students was between 13-15 years. Maximum number of students were Haijans (34.0%) followed by dhanak (27.0%), balmiki (13.0%), odd (11.0%) and khatik (10.0%); and majbhi sikh & bajigar caste respondents were less than five percent (3.0% and 2.0%, respectively). Majority of them were from joint families (78.0 %) with family size between 6-8 members (71.0%) and aspired to be graduate ( 52.0 %) and be in teaching profession (37%). Average number of siblings of the respondents was 2.48 wherein girls outnumbered boys. Illiteracy rate among their female sibling (6.9%) was more than two times higher than male siblings (2.8 %).<strong> </strong>Their mothers were home makers (48.0%) and fathers were labour (53.0%) in maximum number of cases. Majority (69.0%) of the SC girl students were from landless families. </em></p></div>

Abstract:

Occupational mobility actually modifies the real labour income and in turn changes the socio-economic profile of an individual or a family. The occupational mobility may act as a catalyst in case of Scheduled Caste upliftment because they are subjugated since time immemorial. They are still engaged in low-ranked fixed occupations. If they are able to show upward occupational mobility, then their social and economic status will surely improve. But such studies on the occupational mobility of Scheduled Caste population are meagre. Thus in the present work an attempt is made to study occupational mobility and immobility of the Scheduled Caste population. Regional analysis of occupational mobility is necessary for rational planning and legitimate minimization of regional disparities to foster a healthy and balanced development. The historical social exclusion has had a long-run effect, and its inertia is visible from the collected information as a Scheduled Caste cook in the primary school of the Pachambha village is still working as a sweeper in the school. The Chamar family is in the position to open a tea stall in the village but cannot do so because of the historical inertia of untouchability. The study also shows that the Chamar family of Pachambha village has upgraded their occupation significantly. They are more involved in the skin shearing of animals but not working as cultivators or holding their own shop or involved in a clerical job. But Balmikis and Doms1 of the selected village show considerable rigidity in occupational choice as Balmikis are mostly working as sweepers and Doms are mostly working as labourers or as soop makers2 though they can shift to the agricultural and allied activities by purchasing land from the money earned by the out-migrated sweepers and soldiers of the Indian Army.

Background: In ayurveda, Strychnous nuxvomica L(Kuchala) is said as Upavisha and used as a popular folk medicine from ancient times. Kuchala is still being used in rural india in the medicinal form. The antimicrobial screening of the extract was performed by determining the zone of inhibition using the standard method. Aim: The present study was undertaken to investigate the role of Strychnous nuxvomica L(Kuchala) as an herbal embalming drug. Materials and Methods: Purified (Shodhit) Strychnous nuxvomica L(Kuchala)seed extract was prepared by soxhlet extraction method, extract was evaluated for its embalming properties like antimicrobial action(Antibacterial, antifungal etc),anti-inflammatory activity, nontoxic nature (heavy metal analysis) by ICPMS(Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry),analytical method adopted by AOAC(Association of official analytical chemists) and USP(united states pharmacopeia),a set of reference standards and methods. Results: From the heavy metal analysis studies(ICP-MS), seed extracts of Strychnous nuxvomica(Kuchala) were found to be nontoxic. It has antimicrobial action (Total plate count -955cfu/gm) against yeast, molds (26 cfu/gm), E.coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus were inhibited. Conclusions: It is concluded that hydroalcoholic extract of Strychnous nuxvomica L (Kuchala) can serve as an herbal embalming drug due to its embalming properties.

Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to analyze the role of nature and man-made landscapes in the work of landscape architect Diana Balmori. With regard to some of her less published projects we can understand how the idea of an intimate continuity between the whole Ambiental system, includ- ing the man being nature, underlays in each of them, following a conductive line from the small to the large scale. This multiscale continuity can foster a coevolution: the model to follow is no longer based on division and local solutions but on the idea of blurring limits and connecting with natural systems creating an intimate whole. That implies also inverting the relationship between nature and city: imitate the functioning of natural engineering systems instead of leaving dif- fused fragments of nature in the city.

En este artículo se considera el significado socio cultural de las balmoreadas, una especie de bromas pesadas, que surgen como respuesta creativa a la migración privilegiada de españoles a México posrevolucionario y cuyas víctimas fueron personas de más diversos perfiles. Asimismo, en el texto se reflexiona críticamente sobre la construcción mutua de identidades de Concepción Jurado, una mujer común de la época y el personaje ficticio que caracterizó en la realización de las balmoreadas, un rico inmigrante español, Don Carlos Balmori, quien terminó eclipsándola. Por último, el artículo subraya la importancia de las balmoreadas como precursoras del arte de acción o performance art.

The palynofloral assemblage, comprising 33 genera with 45 species, is recorded from the Upper Member of Pali Formation, exposed along Son-Chundi River Section in Shahdol District, M.P. The significant palynotaxa identified are-Densoisporites playfordii, Brachysaccus ovalis, Falcisporites stabilis. Krempipollenites vistitus, Tikisporites balmei, Lundbladispora brevicula, Chordasporites sp., Staurosaccites marginalis, Satsangisaccites nidpurensis, Samaropollenites speciosus and Goubinispora morondavensis. In comparison with known Triassic palynoassemblages of Peninsular India, the Son-Chundi palynoassemblage is assigned an Early to Middle Triassic. Stratigraphic relationships between the Pali and Tiki formations are also discussed.

Más uniós tagállamokhoz hasonlóan a spanyol vezetés is különleges jogrend bevezetésével, kijárási korlátozással, valamint minden idők legnagyobb békeidőben zajló belföldi katonai műveletével próbált felülkerekedni a járványügyi helyzeten. Jelen tanulmány ezen tények, tényezők kontextusában kívánja feltárni a spanyol fegyveres erők bevetésének körülményeit a COVID-19 járvány elleni védekezésben a 2020-as évben, köztük a Balmis-művelet, valamint a Baluarte-misszió legfontosabb jellemzőit.

En 1803, por disposición del rey Carlos IV de España, se organizó una expedición para llevar a sus territorios en América la vacuna contra la viruela. Dicha expedición estuvo a cargo del médico Francisco Xavier Balmis, quien llegó a la Nueva España en 1804 para después zarpar con rumbo a las Filipinas. Misiones secundarias fueron enviadas a Tabasco, Oaxaca, Guatemala y Chiapas. En las páginas siguientes se analiza la forma en que se organizó la subexpedición que llegó a la intendencia de Ciudad Real de Chiapa, poniendo especial atención en el papel que jugó el clero en su aplicación, así como en las dificultades que enfrentó.

Para proteger a la población, las Juntas Locales de Defensa Pasiva llevarán a cabo un programa de construcción de refugios antiaéreos sin precedentes hasta entonces. En Alicante serán numerosos los refugios construidos, entre ellos los situados en las plazas de Séneca y del Dr. Balmis, ambas construcciones salen a la luz, tras años de olvido, a raíz de sendos proyectos de remodelación de las zonas en las que se encuentran enclavados.

La viruela ha sido considerada como una de las epidemias más terribles que ha devastado la humanidad. El mayor paso en la lucha contra esta enfermedad lo dio en 1798 el médico inglés Edward Jenner al descubrir la vacuna contra la viruela. Seis años después el rey Carlos IV ordenó su difusión en la España peninsular y organizó una expedición que llevaría la vacuna a los territorios coloniales de ultramar. El encargado de dirigir la expedición fue el médico alicantino Francisco Xavier Balmis y Berenguer, un verdadero ejemplo de servicio y amor a los demás; y los verdaderos protagonistas fueron niños anónimos, quienes transportaron la vacuna secuencialmente “brazo a brazo” formando una increíble cadena viva de transmisión que permitió que la vacuna llegara hasta América y de allí a Filipinas. La Real Expedición Filantrópica de la vacuna duró casi cuatro años y logró vacunar a más de 250 mil personas, en su mayoría niños. Esta heroica e inédita campaña sanitaria alrededor del mundo es considerada la primera campaña mundial de vacunación y una de las gestas médicas más importantes de la historia. Abstract:

The Royal Philanthropic Vaccine Expedition is considered in the history of medicine as the first international health expedition aimed at the global elimination of a contagious disease: smallpox. However, the initiatives carried out in this way before the arrival of the Balmis Expedition, by surgeons from the Spanish Navy, are less well known. Thus, the main objective of this research work is to offer an overview of the different anti-variolic vaccination initiatives prior to the campaign financed by the Spanish crown from these health facilities. Using the heuristic and hermeneutic method, our article is based on primary sources contrasted with specialised literature. The results obtained are presented in a narrative style from each of the surgeons identified as decisive in the implementation of the vaccine, thus providing a divergent and unpublished historiographic approach. As the facts described show, before the arrival of Balmis the vaccine substance was introduced in those countries thanks to the initiative of various surgeons: in Puerto Rico by Francisco Oller; in Cartagena and Santa Marta in Colombia by Ángel Hidalgo; in Venezuela by Alonso Ruiz; in Cuba by Tomás Romay and Bernardo de Cózar; in the Viceroyalty of New Granada (Colombia) by Lorenzo Vergés; in Guatemala by Miguel José Monzón and José María Ledesma; in the Viceroyalty of New Spain by Alejandro García Arboleya and Antonio Serrano; in Peru by Pedro Belomo; in Río de la Plata by Cristóbal Martín de Montúfar; in the Chilean region of Coquimbo by José María Gómez; and in the Philippines by Cristóbal Regidor. Finally, it should be noted that these surgeons and the approach presented are part of a historiography based on the personal actions of professionals trained, for the most part, at the Medical–Surgical School of Cadiz.

Abstract. Upper Triassic (Norian) strata of the Miankuhi Formation in northeastern Iran have been studied palynologically, revealing a diverse but poorly preserved association of dinoflagellate cysts. Based on representatives of the genera Hebecysta, Heibergella, Rhaetogonyaulax and Sverdrupiella, the strata are assigned to the middle of the Hebecysta balmei Zone with an inferred age of early Late Norian. The association shows similarities with assemblages from Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Northwest Europe, arctic Canada and Alaska, indicating an interconnection of warm Tethyan waters during the Late Triassic. The occurrence of Sverdrupiella species in the clastic, near-shore marine deposits of Miankuhi, and their presence in similar sedimentary facies world-wide, indicate that this genus was well adapted to clastic shallow-marine environments.

Abstract:

Increasing number of suicide cases, especially in adolescents, becomes problems that require serious treatment. Adolescence is a period of transition and hormonal development that can affect the emotions or mood. It is known that before attempting suicide, there are signs of language or linguistic such as verbal and nonverbal as an indication of the suicidal behavior action. This systematic review aims to identify these signs based on the results of several studies. There were 12 articles that have reviewed, the results showed there are three aspect that can be identified: used language from the suicider; perception of suicider toward the behaviour; and observerd behaviours. Most of the suicider express the feeling of Hopeless, Self-balming, feeling depressed and lonely, and also withdraw from society. It is expectedthat the result can be used as basic data toindentify signs and symptoms of suicide in adolescents. Keywords: observed behaviors, suicide language; emotional expression

Este artículo tratará de mostrar —a través del análisis de los informes de las distintas autoridades de la región— hasta qué punto se puso en práctica este proyecto, a qué autoridades implicó, qué problemas tuvo que enfrentar, cuál fue la reacción de la población y qué resultados consiguió desde 1805 —año en que la expedición llegó a San Luis Potosí— hasta 1821, cuando terminó la época virreinal.

ResumenSi bien la literatura filipina en castellano ha sido prácticamente marginada en Filipinas y en el conjunto del mundo hispánico, el presente trabajo enfoca su difusión y recepción en Hispanoamérica en el siglo XX tomando en cuenta el hecho de que por 250 años (desde 1565 hasta 1815) Filipinas y el Virreinato de Nueva España desarrollaron una relación intercolonial, no sólo en términos comerciales sino también culturales. Entre los esfuerzos por difundir esta literatura se hallan la visita a México del escritor filipino Jesús Balmori en 1931, durante la cual organizó eventos culturales y recitó su poesía ante un público mexicano, y la labor del crítico y traductor húngaro-mexicano Pablo Laslo, quien publicó una edición bilingüe (castellano-alemán) más dos selecciones de poesía filipina en México y Argentina. A partir de estos dos casos, se explora el potencial crítico de la difusión de la literatura filipina en castellano en Hispanoamérica enfatizando las posibilidades y desafíos que surgen al estudiar la literatura filipina en castellano dentro del marco de las relaciones Sur-Sur.

La pandemia de COVID-19 ha supuesto el mayor despliegue de las Fuerzas Armadas españolas en suelo propio desde 1977. El Gobierno de España decretó el 14 de marzo de 2020 el estado de alarma y puso en marcha una misión militar de apoyo y contención donde las cuentas de las redes sociales de las unidades implicadas han ido dando cuenta de su evolución. Este estudio tiene como objetivo conocer el impacto de las publicaciones subidas por cada organismo cada día de ese estado de alarma en sus cuentas de Facebook. Se ha medido cuantitativa y cualitativamente el número de publicaciones, «likes» y comentarios hechos durante el estado de alarma tanto positivos como negativos observándose que todos los organismos han dado una cobertura muy amplia de su trabajo, que ha habido unas cuentas más «acaparadoras» que otras que y el público ha agradecido y reconocido mayoritariamente su esfuerzo.

A lo largo de la historia de la Orden Hospitalaria son muchas las epidemias y pandemias que le ha tocado afrontar con creatividad, entrega y excelencia. En este estudio se realiza un análisis histórico de las diferentes epidemias afrontadas por los Hermanos de San Juan de Dios desde 1580 con la epidemia de “catarro, la llegada de la peste en el siglo XVII, el tifus, la cooperación entre del Hermano Chaparro y el Dr. Balmis contra la viruela, la fiebre amarilla, el cólera y la heroica actuación de los Hermanos liderada por Benito Menni O.H. en la campaña anticolérica a finales del siglo XIX; hasta la propagación de epidemias más recientes como el VIH en la década de los ochenta, la repercusión social con el Ébola en el 2014 y el fallecimiento de numerosos Hermanos y colaboradores en los centros hospitalarios de África, y finalmente, la actual Covid-19 que amenaza nuestra sociedad. En este artículo, se refleja como los Hermanos y colaboradores se han volcado en el cuidado de los más vulnerables y en la lucha contra las diversas enfermedades que han asolado a millones de poblaciones durante casi 500 años, siguiendo el ejemplo de san Juan de Dios. En cada una de estas pandemias, la Orden Hospitalaria con determinación y humanización ha sabido afrontar y aplica los principios más fundamentales de la institución en cada uno de los delicados momentos socio-sanitarios que en este estudio se muestran.

Abstract:

Ages varying from Late Triassic to Early Jurassic have been proposed by different authors for the onset of rifting in the Northern Carnarvon Basin. Seismic sections from the Exmouth Sub-basin and outer Exmouth Plateau demonstrate significant growth strata associated with displacement on normal faults starting at least at the base of the R. rhaetica zone (Rhaetian). This tectonic event coincides with a marked change in sequence architecture and a large landward shift (~300 km) of the paleo-shoreline to the vicinity of the Rankin and Alpha Arch trends. Rapid creation of accommodation in the inboard narrow rift basins (Exmouth, Barrow and Dampier sub-basins) is suggested to be the most likely cause of this major transgression. The preferential development of associated carbonate build-ups during the Rhaetian on the footwall side of active tilted fault blocks provides additional evidence for the onset of significant extensional faulting occurring during this time. An earlier more subtle initiation phase of rifting, however, is interpreted during the Norian, from around the middle part of the H. balmei biozone time, above which a change in stratigraphic architecture from aggrading to retrograding occurs. The observed structural and stratigraphic transitions can be related to typical phases of evolution described in many rift basins around the world. The work highlights the importance of integrating regional structural geology, sequence stratigraphy and depositional systems observations to provide robust constraints for basin evolutions.

The present work focuses on European cities’ environments and open spaces, aiming to demonstrate how, through landscape architecture, it is possible to respond effectively to many of the ecological and social hardships that the Green Deal aspires to alleviate. It was signed in 2019 by all of the member countries of the Union, seeks to reverse the climate change trend by establishing a series of goals for improving environmental and economic quality for 2030 and 2050 and also aims to enact social justice in rural areas and in the urban environment. Landscape architecture, which is the art of combining the physical and immaterial elements in cities’ open spaces, is taken in this work as the method of interpreting the existing environment. The description, together with the narrative analysis of five selected site-specific urban renovations projects carried out in the last 15 years by some of the main contemporary landscape architects, such as Micheal Desvigne, Peter Latz and Gilles Clément, demonstrates, by means of their empirical experiences, the benefits of the landscape design. It is able to match both the ecological need expressed in the Deal and to respond to the ambition of an open and rightful city, as called for by the theories of Sennet and Balmori. In order to reach the just transition and to leave no one behind, and to meet and to implement the Green Deal objectives, the new, positive and long-lasting explained transformations require the consideration of landscape design, in all its material and immaterial components, as a theoretical synthesis capable of obtaining a practical application in fighting climate change, and it should be considered and included in city management policies and in the Deal, too.

Abstract:

Influenza is a health problem and vaccination is the most effective measure to prevent it. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on vaccination coverage (VC) against influenza in healthcare workers (HCWs). A cross-sectional study was conducted at the Dr. Balmis University General Hospital in the province of Alicante (Spain), in which vaccination data were collected retrospectively. Adverse effects (AEs) were detected via telephone call between 15 and 30 days after vaccination. The existence of significant changes in VC between the different seasons studied was evaluated using Chi square with a statistical significance level of p < 0.05. A total of 8403 HCWs vaccinated throughout the different seasons were studied. The vaccination coverage of HCWs for influenza pre-COVID-19 pandemic (2019/20 season) was 51.9%; increased during the pandemic to 67.9% (2020/21 season) and 65.5% (2021/22 season); and, after the pandemic, it decreased to 42.7% (2022/23 season) (p < 0.05). The most frequent reason for vaccination during the periods evaluated was “self-protection”, followed by “protection of patients” and “protection of family members”. Of all HCWs evaluated, 26.6% (1460/5493) reported at least one AE. During the COVID-19 pandemic, HCWs’ influenza vaccination coverage fluctuated considerably. There has been an increase in VC during the most critical moments of the pandemic, both in the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, which has, subsequently, decreased in the 2022/2023 season, to levels below pre-pandemic (2019/2020 season), which justifies implementing specific measures to recover VC in Spain.

A finales del siglo XVIII inició la historia de la inmunología en México, con Francisco Xavier Balmis, quien realizó el proceso de vacunación contra la viruela, con lo que sentó las bases para la investigación y la práctica clínica en este campo de la medicina. Entre los precursores de la inmunología en México destacan Eduardo Liceaga, Maximiliano Ruiz Castañeda y Mario Salazar Mallén. Este último fundó el primer laboratorio de alergia en México, en el Hospital General de México, y el primer curso de alergia con reconocimiento por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). El Programa Único de Especializaciones Médicas (PUEM) es un plan curricular organizado en una construcción conceptual funcional, destinado a encauzar las acciones educativas médicas, cuyo diseño estuvo a cargo de la Facultad de Medicina de la UNAM, las instituciones de salud y los consejos mexicanos de especialistas; su finalidad es que el médico residente adquiera los conocimientos, habilidades, destrezas y valores éticos para ejercer su práctica profesional con calidad y eficiencia. La especialidad de Alergia e Inmunología Clínica forma parte del PUEM desde 1994 en adultos y desde 1998 en pediatría. Actualmente, la especialidad se desarrolla en ocho instituciones de salud, con seis cursos para adultos y dos en pediatría. La UNAM evalúa la calidad de los cursos de especialización mediante diversos procesos, coordinados por la División de Estudios de Posgrado de la Facultad de Medicina, a través de la Coordinación de Subcomités Académicos y el apoyo de los integrantes del Subcomité Académico de Alergia e Inmunología Clínica, con el objetivo de garantizar la calidad de la formación de los recursos humanos.

A 1300 m thick sedimentary sequence in borehole SNB–1 around Jaisinghnagar area in the western part of the South Rewa Basin has been lithologically designated as the Pali Formation. However, palynological investigation reveals presence of three distinct palynoassemblage zones belonging to late Permian, early and late Triassic ages in ascending order. Palynoassemblage I (Striatopodocarpites magnificus–Crescentipollenites fuscus) recorded between a depth of 1213.40–1164.10 m showing dominance of striate bisaccate pollen taxa chiefly―Striatopodocarpites ovatus, Faunipollenites varius and Crescentipollenites fuscus in association with Alisporites ovalis, Lunatisporites pellucidus, Densipollenites indicus and Lahirites rarus is late Permian (Raniganj) in age. Palynoassemblage II (Lundbladispora densispinosa–Densoisporites playfordii) recorded between a depth of 1054.30–956.00 m and showing dominance of cavate/cingulate spores, like Lundbladispora microconata, Densoisporites complicatus along with Kraeuselisporites rallus, Lapposisporites lapposus, Playfordiaspora crenulata, Goubinispora indica, Klausipollenites schaubergeri, Limatulasporites fossulatus and Reduviasporonites chalastus indicates an early Triassic age. Palynoassemblage III (Aulisporites astigmosus–Falcisporites nuthallensis) recorded between a depth of 404.40–53.60 m and characterized by the dominance of Aulisporites astigmosus along with Falcisporites nuthallensis, Tikisporites balmei, Dubrajisporites unicus, Enzonalasporites densus, Leschikisporites aduncus, Lunatisporites rhaeticus, Lueckisporites virkkiae, Playfordiaspora vellata, Polycingulatisporites crenulatus, Cingulizonates indicus, Neoraistrickia taylori and Aratrisporites fischeri is equated with late Triassic (Supra–Panchet) age. The Permian–Triassic boundary is delineated at the contact of coal/shale bearing upper part of the Middle Member and lower part of the Upper Member of the Pali Formation (between 1164.10–1075.15 m depth). At the P/T boundary, the abrupt change of the palynoflora is marked by the disappearance of the striate bisaccate pollen grains and appearance of non–striate bisaccate grains in association with cingulate–cavate/zonate trilete spores. The Permian/Triassic palynofloras recorded in South Rewa Basin show close similarities with those of the uppermost Bainmedart Coal Measures (McKinnon Member) and Flagstone Bench Formation of east Antarctica.
