Abstract:
Achievement of the right ratio of religious studies and religious education is possible under the condition of integration of mental values of individuals and societies, as well as the gradual formation of a single mental space of civilization. It has been established that the philosophical basis of religious studies is that it can: define and form the correct worldview positions regarding religion; offer the person a system of attitudes that excludes negative fluctuations in the search for an appropriate worldview; regulate the axiological positions in the multi-variance of moral choice. In addition, the philosophical basis of religious studies should help to harmonize the content of this education with personal views on the student's religion. This basis should be grounded in the position that religious studies should not impose a certain view of the religions of the world on young people, but should offer a volume of objectively balanced knowledge of religious world view.

Abstract:
This article summarizes the background of empirical journalism studies in Argentina. In recent publications, researchers have consistently underscored the lack of data on the profession and the scarce development of theoretical frameworks related to journalism studies. The local investigations have prioritized approaches and methods that do not give the whole picture of the population of journalists. Most of the research tends to equate media analysis and media messages with journalism study and keeps on failing to provide data that allows for learning about the working conditions and the professional profile of the Argentinean journalists.

Abstract:
AbstractThis article sketches the contents of the open letter of 138 Muslim Scholars to Christians. In addition it provides a reflection of the common ground the authors construct between the faith of Muslims and Christians. Maybe this common ground lies, more than either Christians and Muslims may be aware, in their joint roots in Judaism. The present article concludes with some reflections on the presupposition that it is fertile to start a dialogue on the basis of a (supposed) common ground.

Abstract:
AbstractThe cult of Kybele is well known from Greek and Roman sources and well-described in most modern literature on antique religions. The cult, however, is primarily known in its Roman version, which differs greatly from the cult in the ancient Phrygian homeland of Kybele. This article presents the latest research on this subject: iconography and roles, attendants relating to the goddess, cult places, rituals and worship, and transference of the cult from Phrygia to Greece. The Phrygian goddess, characterised by features of wild nature, was represented primarily by predatory birds, and she was worshipped in mountainous settings. Instead of portraying her as a typical Mother goddess associated with nature, fertility and procreation, new research has argued that her status as a Mother derives from her connection to the king, thus being the mother of the state and the throne. It is also maintained in the article that Attis is a late, Greek invention, and that the cult in Phrygia did not take the form of a mystery religion. In conclusion, it is suggested that the Black sea area played a role in the development and the dissemination of the cult.

Abstract:
The 1MDB stands for 1Malaysia Development Berhad. It is a company formed in 2009 by the federal government of Malaysia. 1MDB had become such a problem for many by late 2014. And today a year later the sad and debilitating saga continues unabated. The case of the 1MDB should be of a particular interest for students and scholars of auditing, accounting and corporate governance since it involves the following: the alleged disappearance of a huge amount of company’s funds; the apparent hiding of significant amount of real losses year after year with the accounting of paper profits originated from repeated fair revaluations of properties or other assets; the possibility of repeated cases of audit failure; the probe conducted by various parties locally which include the Office of the Auditor General; and, the lack of evidence of best practices in corporate governance being implemented since its formation. Each of these five areas of concern is laid bare in a series of five case studies where the materials come mainly from three news portals which are based inside the country: MalaysiaKini, The Malaysian Insider and Free Malaysia Today. All the published materials of concern are dated up to the end of June 2015. It is also notable that following the completion of these case studies, the work on another series of case studies shall be embarked upon. The new series shall give focus upon what has taken place since early July 2015. The intention behind the writing of these cases is to have them used in classroom discussions to help towards the emergence ofMalaysia tomorrow that so many inside the country has embarked upon so that history is given as little chance as possible in repeating itself!

Full text
Abstract:
AbstractTheLetter to Theodoremay need to be reattributed to Origen of Alexandria. Many of its features seem demonstrably Origenian, and its language aligns with early Christian and Origenian usage. Two noncanonical gospel fragments in the letter do not betray a modern author, but rather evoke early Christian symbolism and narrative structure. The single garment worn by a character in the first fragment reflects Christian symbolism and resembles the philosopher’s garment, which many early Christians adopted and portrayed in material artifacts. Origen’s intellectual interests can explain the letter’s preparation for philosophical exegesis, and its language reflects his text-critical practice. Nevertheless, Origen’s circumstances indicate the text of the noncanonical gospel fragments is unreliable. The letter also echoes Papias in the manner that Origen does. Morton Smith’s account of its discovery does not betray a forgery or hoax, but plausibly depends on other nonfiction works of manuscript discoveries written during the 1960s. Further work may be needed to secure attribution, but Origenian authorship is a simpler explanation of the evidence than modern forgery.
