Abstract:
The decision on the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union rightly caused an increased interest of our public in the entire integration process, which until now was mostly considered a problem of only Western Europe and affecting us only marginally. It is undoubtedly related to the general lack of knowledge and information about what the European integration process is. Most people know that it is about economic cooperation leading to integration, but few people realize how big a role politics plays here, how much attention needs to be paid to social, cultural and other issues. If we want to fully know and understand the European integration process, we have to admit that it already has its own history, which, thanks to Europe's divided past, we hardly know at all. If we ask ourselves when it all started, we must also ask which personalities were behind the birth of the integration idea, what it originally looked like, why and how it began to proceed, how further development took place, what obstacles the process ran into, etc. Answer it is not easy to answer all of the above questions and it is not at all possible to manage it in one article. Nevertheless, even a review of one book can contribute to a gradual understanding.

Abstract:
Integration is a perspective direction for improving modern education. For persons who have entered a shortened form of education or have an educational and qualification level obtained in another speciality, it is necessary to introduce the teaching of an integrated discipline in the practice of learning. This will allow such applicants for education to systematize their knowledge and focus on the most pressing issues of their future profession. The small number of integrated disciplines in the educational process is due to a lack of awareness among teachers of the advantages and opportunities of integrated disciplines for training specialists, and insufficient development of methodological foundations for the promotion of integrated disciplines. The purpose of the article is to characterize the methodological bases for the development of integrated disciplines in higher education institutions. The main scientific results of the study include the definition of integration as a process, result and phenomenon; characterization of the features and forms of integration of educational disciplines (intra-disciplinary, interdisciplinary, multi-level, combined, trans-subject); identification of the positive and negative aspects of the introduction of an integrated educational discipline. The authors define integration as a phenomenon characterizing the synthesis of procedural and resultant components of integration with the aim of targeted formation of new knowledge and practical skills among students. The main advantages of the introduction of integrated disciplines include systematization and concentration of knowledge within one discipline; comprehensive consideration of the object of the study taking into account all its characteristics; no duplication of information in different courses; saving students time as a result of workload optimization. The general conclusion is that the development and implementation of an integrated discipline in educational practice contributes to the further development of the professional knowledge and skills of a future specialist. Prospects for the further introduction of integrated disciplines in higher education are related to the improvement of the existing format of training using integrated disciplines, as well as regulatory and methodological bases for the development and implementation of integrated disciplines in higher education institutions.

Abstract:
Ontology matching is a rapidly emerging topic crucial for semantic web effort, data integration, and interoperability. Semantic heterogeneity is one of the most challenging aspects of ontology matching. Consequently, background knowledge (BK) resources are utilized to bridge the semantic gap between the ontologies. Generic BK approaches use a single matcher to discover correspondences between entities from different ontologies. However, the Ontology Alignment Evaluation Initiative (OAEI) results show that not all matchers identify the same correct mappings. Moreover, none of the matchers can obtain good results across all matching tasks. This study proposes a novel BK multimatcher approach for improving ontology matching by effectively generating and combining mappings from biomedical ontologies. Aggregation strategies to create more effective mappings are discussed. Then, a matcher path confidence measure that helps select the most promising paths using the final mapping selection algorithm is proposed. The proposed model performance is tested using the Anatomy and Large Biomed tracks offered by the OAEI 2020. Results show that higher recall levels have been obtained. Moreover, the F-measure values achieved with our model are comparable with those obtained by the state of the art matchers.

Abstract:
In the context of the evolving role of Physical Therapists (PTs) in health promotion, this study explored the incorporation of nutritional assessment and counseling into PTs’ professional practice in Israel. Using an anonymous cross-sectional survey design, the research gauged PTs’ professional background, nutritional knowledge, lifestyle habits, and the extent of nutritional care integration. Our survey gathered data from 409 certified PTs in Israel, revealing inadequate nutritional knowledge, commendable nutritional lifestyles, and limited nutritional care integration. Participants with over 13 years of clinical experience demonstrated significantly higher levels of nutritional assessment and counseling integration within their physical therapy practices. Workplace setting, nutritional lifestyle, and nutritional knowledge emerged as significant predictors for nutritional care integration. Specifically, working in outpatient clinics and possessing better nutritional lifestyles and knowledge were associated with the increased integration of nutritional assessment and counseling within physical therapy practice. These findings underscore the need for targeted interventions and formal nutrition education to bridge the knowledge gaps and optimize patient care. These results advocate for comprehensive nutrition education in physical therapy curricula and the fostering of PTs as role models. Integrating nutrition care could empower PTs to enhance patient outcomes and fulfill their role in preventive healthcare.

Abstract:
In the article the prerequisites for the emergence and development of a new trend in philosophy, experimental philosophy, are determined. It is noted that the dynamics of methodological approaches in experimental philosophy allows us to trace the historical continuity of experimental philosophy. The status of experimental philosophical knowledge, combining empirical and theoretical knowledge in cognitive activity, has radically changed in our time, having passed the dialectical path of development from a single philosophical knowledge of antiquity through the disintegration of empirical and theoretical knowledge in the 19th-20th centuries to integration - an interdisciplinary synthesis of sciences - in the 21st century. It is concluded that in the context of the historical genesis of the development of philosophical and scientific thought the emergence of modern experimental philosophy at the beginning of the 21st century historically determined and seems to be not a random phenomenon, but arisen with the objective need to create research methods that are adequate to the needs of modern science.

Abstract:
Navigation in honeybees is discussed against the background of the types of memories employed in the navigational task. Two questions are addressed. Do bees have goal-specific expectations, and when are novel routes travelled? Expectations are deduced from (1) context stimuli as determinants for local cue memories, (2) landmark-dependent path integration, (3) sequential learning of landmarks, and (4) motivation- and context-dependent memory retrieval. Novel routes are travelled under two conditions: (1) goal-cue-based piloting and (2) integration of simultaneously activated vector memories. Our data do not support the conclusion that memory integration in bees is organised by a cognitive map. The assumption of purely separate memories that are only retrieved according to the chain of events during navigational performance also appears to be inadequate. We favour the view that multiple memories are integrated using external and internal sources of information. Such configural memories lead to both specific expectations and novel routes.

Abstract:
Over the past years, media coverage of firms has received significant scholarly attention. However, the resulting literature is spread across multiple disciplines and, therefore, varies with regard to its theoretical underpinnings and contextual settings. This makes it challenging for scholars to understand the contributions of this literature, to identify areas of inquiry, and to develop an encompassing research agenda. In this review, we address these issues by surveying the diverse literature on media coverage of firms to develop an integrative framework of the antecedents and consequences of media coverage that highlights paths for future research. Specifically, we identify the three theoretical perspectives—economic, institutional, and social-psychological—that the literature generally assumes on the news media. In addition, we highlight differences between strategy, finance, governance, and crisis contexts and review results from articles examining media coverage of firms in aggregate. In each context, we identify the primary functions of the news media as well as antecedents and consequences of media coverage. We proceed to develop an integrative framework for media coverage of firms by building on these findings and by examining the empirical methods used to measure media coverage, particularly regarding the measurement of specific coverage attributes. We highlight the gaps in current knowledge that our framework exposes and derive opportunities for future research that can further scholars’ and practitioners’ understanding of firm media coverage.

Achievement of the right ratio of religious studies and religious education is possible under the condition of integration of mental values of individuals and societies, as well as the gradual formation of a single mental space of civilization. It has been established that the philosophical basis of religious studies is that it can: define and form the correct worldview positions regarding religion; offer the person a system of attitudes that excludes negative fluctuations in the search for an appropriate worldview; regulate the axiological positions in the multi-variance of moral choice. In addition, the philosophical basis of religious studies should help to harmonize the content of this education with personal views on the student's religion. This basis should be grounded in the position that religious studies should not impose a certain view of the religions of the world on young people, but should offer a volume of objectively balanced knowledge of religious world view.

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to study knowledge integration mechanisms in an interdisciplinary research project. It develops the theoretical literature on the concept of knowledge integration, particularly the adoption of different organizational mechanisms. The research helps to explain how to adopt different integration mechanisms in the various steps of a typical university industry research project. Design/methodology/approach This research relies on a case study. The authors used three data collection techniques: internal document analysis, observation/site visits and semi-structured interviews. Documentary analysis was used to understand the organizational structure and to identify knowledge integration issues. Observation and site visits at university research laboratories were used to increase understanding on particular issues. Staff interviewed included managers and academic researchers. Findings Findings are primarily related to a better understanding of choices of knowledge integration mechanisms in a university industry research project. A crucial aspect was the level of mutual understanding of specialist knowledge. When project members were derived from different sides of the university-industry border, there was a major need for recurring to more structured knowledge integration mechanisms, even if the scientific background of participants was homogeneous. Originality/value Previous studies on the relationships between university and industry deals with the issue of governing the knowledge exchange on the border at a macro level; conversely, an interesting research gap is represented by knowledge integration mechanisms to be deployed on the university-industry border, especially at micro level. In this paper, the authors do not cope explicitly with university-industry coordination mechanisms but use the University-Industry border to study knowledge integration in interdisciplinary setting. The study is exploratory, which may be useful in generating future research hypotheses, connecting the features of research projects with the need to achieve knowledge integration.

Abstract:
AbstractThe Decision Model and Notation (DMN) is a recent Object Management Group standard for the elicitation and representation of decision models and for managing their interconnection with business processes. DMN builds on the notion of decision tables and their combination into more complex decision requirements graphs (DRGs), which bridge between business process models and decision logic models. DRGs may rely on additional, external business knowledge models, whose functioning is not part of the standard. In this work, we consider one of the most important types of business knowledge, namely, background knowledge that conceptually accounts for the structural aspects of the domain of interest, and propose decision knowledge bases (DKBs), which semantically combine DRGs modeled in DMN, and domain knowledge captured by means of first-order logic with datatypes. We provide a logic-based semantics for such an integration, and formalize different DMN reasoning tasks for DKBs. We then consider background knowledge formulated as a description logic (DL) ontology with datatypes, and show how the main verification tasks for DMN in this enriched setting can be formalized as standard DL reasoning services and actually carried out in ExpTime. We discuss the effectiveness of our framework on a case study in maritime security.

Full text
Abstract:
Aim/Purpose: The current study explored how Technological Pedagogical Knowledge (TPK) influences teachers’ delivery of subject content. Background: The potential value of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) devices is lost if teachers do not integrate them into their instructional practices. Technological Pedagogical Knowledge is one of the components of Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK), and it can assist teachers in providing learners with the best classroom learning environment while integrating digital devices in the delivery of lessons. Methodology: The descriptive qualitative multiple case study was conducted at five secondary schools in the rural Bojanala District. Five teachers from five schools voluntarily participated in semi-structured interviews and a document analysis. The thematic analysis of the collected data informed the results of this study. Contribution: This study contributes to the identification and exploration of the role of TPK in enhancing the integration of 4IR devices into rural secondary schools’ instructional practices. Findings: The study reveals the limited integration of digital devices in teaching due to a lack of infrastructure, a lack of comprehensive understanding of TPK, and the absence of information and communication technologies (ICT) policies at the school level. By analyzing existing policies (or the lack thereof), the study could explain the disconnect between the integration of TPK. Recommendations for Practitioners: Teachers need to be capacitated through follow-up intervention professional development to bridge the gap between understanding TPK and the integration of different digital devices in delivering subject content. Prior to integrating digital devices into teaching and learning practices, teachers must develop or have access to ICT policies and guidelines. Recommendation for Researchers: The results indicate that even a limited understanding of TPK can motivate teachers to incorporate different strategies brought by 4IR in delivering their lessons, and this needs to be explored further. Impact on Society: Targeted TPK training and follow-up sessions can further equip teachers with the necessary 4IR transformative skills to design and deliver lessons that effectively prepare learners for the 21st-century real-world work environment. The efforts would assist learners from rural areas schools to benefit from the available technology. Future Research: The study emphasizes the need for further research to expand the global understanding of strategies for enhancing teachers’ TPK, thus contributing to the broader academic discourse on technology integration in education.

The research background is rooted in the need to address the shortcomings of traditional IPE approaches in medical colleges, where the focus has been overly on ideological and political courses without achieving desired outcomes. With the emergence of new medical sciences, there is an urgent need to endow medical students with not only technical skills but also a noble soul and social responsibility. The purpose of this study is to propose effective strategies for integrating IPE into Cardiovascular Surgery courses, aiming to cultivate high-quality medical talents who are both "professional" and "ideologically sound." The research approach involves analyzing existing literature, identifying challenges in incorporating IPE within specialized medical courses, and proposing innovative teaching models such as "genetic" integration, "synaptic" penetration, "transfer" exploration, "immersive" cultivation, and "infectious" nurturing. These models are designed to seamlessly integrate ideological and political content with medical professional knowledge and skills, enhancing students' awareness of the subject, reinforcing their confidence in medical traditions, and cultivating their noble personality and social responsibility.

Abstract:
BACKGROUND: Participatory simulation (PS) is a method that can be used to integrate ergonomics and safety into workplace design projects. Previous studies have mainly focused on tools and methods for the simulation activities. The subsequent process of transferring and integrating the simulation outcomes into the design of workplaces is poorly understood. OBJECTIVE: This study sets out to study the role of actors and objects in the transfer of ergonomics knowledge generated in PS events and in the integration of this knowledge into a design project. The study identifies factors that influence what part of the simulation outcomes are integrated. METHODS: The empirical context of the study was six PS events that were part of a hospital design project. The events were investigated based on knowledge transfer theory, observations, interviews and document studies. RESULTS: Actors and objects with abilities of transferring ergonomics knowledge from the PS events to the hospital design project were identified. The study indicated that persons producing the objects functioned as a filter, meaning that not all ergonomics knowledge was transferred from the PS events. The main influencing factors on the integration were: predetermined building dimensions and room interdependency. CONCLUSIONS: Four recommendations were proposed for ergonomists and safety professionals when planning PS events.

Abstract:
Freight village (FV) is a logistics phenomenon with broad economic, social and environmental consequences. A well organized and knowledge-based planning process is critical to realize sustainable development of FVs, due to its capability to avoid negative phenomena (e.g., unnecessary FV projects, high vacancy rates, unsuitable sites, disturbance to local residents, air and water pollutions) from the beginning. Sustainability-oriented FV planning depends largely on the identification, interpretation, creation and use of involved knowledge. Knowledge management (KM) is a planned, structured approach of systematically and actively managing knowledge for achieving the expected objectives. Thus, this paper aims at integrating KM approach to FVs planning stage for sustainable development. This paper starts with the research background. Then, it proposes a schema for FVs planning steps towards sustainable development. In particular, “sense-making KM model” is used as a guide for FVs planning process following the route: sense making - knowledge creation - decision making.

Teaching culture has been considered important in foreign language instruction for almost a century. In this study theliterature behind Cultural Schema Theory was reviewed and the practicality of applying this theory into the EFLclassroom and its effect on the EFL students’ productive skills (writing and speaking) were observed. This studyincludes two phases. First, a learning phase in which the treatment group was exposed to a variety of materials ofdifferent cultural issues. Second, a test phase in which a pre and post-test of speaking and writing were given to bothcontrol and experimental groups to determine any differences in their writing and speaking performance. And at theend of the treatment a semi-structured interview was used to know the experimental group’s opinion about differentcultural issues that were discussed during the term in their EFL class. The data was subjected to the statisticalprocedure of t-test and the results of this study indicated that not only all the students of experimental groupoutperformed the students of control group in their speaking and writing performance but also according to thesemi-structure interview the students of experimental group had a positive reaction towards the integration of cultureinto the classroom context. The results showed that L2 learners may need to understand different aspects of the targetculture better in order not only to speak and write accurately but also to interpret appropriately what they hear and tointeract effectively with members of the target culture.

Abstract:
This study aims to examine the moderating effect of knowledge integration capability on the relationship between business ties, political ties, and entrepreneurial creativity on competitive advantage. We present the first model that links the ability to integrate knowledge, network ties, and entrepreneurial creativity with the background of MSMEs in Indonesia. This study’s data collection method is a questionnaire survey given to Indonesian MSME entrepreneurs. Meanwhile, 358 questionnaires have been qualified for further processing as part of the random sampling approach used in this study’s sample collection. Additionally, the survey data were acquired through the use of SmartPLS, and the study’s findings indicate that business ties, political ties, and entrepreneurial creativity all favorably impact competitive advantage. Knowledge integration capability reinforces the influence of business ties and entrepreneurial creativity on competitive advantage. But knowledge integration capability is unable to counteract the impact of political ties on competitive advantage. The results complement the literature related to the use of knowledge resources in achieving competitive advantage. Considering the important role of knowledge integration capability in the escalation of competitive advantage in corporations, MSME entrepreneurs are strongly advised to consider the available resource of knowledge. To preserve the competitive advantage, knowledge should be continuously expanded.

Training mental health professionals in the seminary context provides the educator with several important challenges. Students must first be trained in addressing four specific audiences, each of which will have different expectations of the graduate. Students must also be given skill acquisition in four specific areas that are central to the seminary environment: a good working knowledge of hermeneutics, sound theological reasoning, ability to use psychological literature well, and an awareness of the vast sweep of church history. Seminary graduates who enter the Christian mental health professions with this type of educational background can thus make some unique and focused contributions to the ongoing integration enterprise.

Abstract:
Sensing is fundamental to the control of movement: From grasping objects to speech production, sensing guides action. So far, most of our knowledge about sensorimotor integration comes from visually guided reaching and oculomotor integration, in which the time course and trajectories of movements can be measured at a high temporal resolution. By contrast, production of vocalizations by humans and animals involves complex and variable actions, and each syllable often lasts a few hundreds of milliseconds, making it difficult to infer underlying neural processes. Here, we measured and modeled the transfer of sensory information into motor commands for vocal amplitude control in response to background noise, also known as the Lombard effect. We exploited the brief vocalizations of echolocating bats to trace the time course of the Lombard effect on a millisecond time scale. Empirical studies revealed that the Lombard effect features a response latency of a mere 30 ms and provided the foundation for the quantitative audiomotor model of the Lombard effect. We show that the Lombard effect operates by continuously integrating the sound pressure level of background noise through temporal summation to guide the extremely rapid vocal-motor adjustments. These findings can now be extended to models and measures of audiomotor integration in other animals, including humans.

Abstract:
In the evolving landscape of primary mathematics education, this study investigates the impact of gender, age, teaching experience, educational background, and mathematics-specific education on the factors of integrating digital technology during the post-pandemic era in primary schools. Data from 554 primary mathematics teachers in China, were analyzed using Technological Pedagogical Readiness scale across eleven constructs with Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney <i>U</i> tests for statistical examination. Results indicate a significant difference in the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) construct based on gender, with female teachers exhibiting stronger integration. Contrary to findings from other studies, other constructs showed no substantial gender differences, suggesting an equalizing effect potentially propelled by widespread digital adaptation during the pandemic. Age and teaching experience did not present significant variations in technology integration, revealing a shift from previously understood dynamics where younger, less experienced educators were considered more technologically-inclined. Educational levels, including junior college, bachelor’s degree, and master’s degree, along with a mathematics-specific background, did not significantly influence digital integration, indicating a standardization of technological engagement regardless of academic specialization or mathematics background. The study’s insights emphasize the necessity for inclusive professional development programs that consider these nuances and support sustained technology use in education beyond the pandemic.

Abstract:
Recently, there is a surge of interest in employing neurocomputer interfaces for a control contours implementation, especially for different infrastructures of Internet of Things. However, due to a low-level nature of such devices and related software tools, neurointerface integration with a large variety of IoT devices is quite a tedious task, and the one that requires a lot of knowledge in the neuroscience and signal processing to boot. In the paper, we propose an ontology-driven solution for facing the upcoming challenges of unified integration of brain-computer interfaces into IoT ecosystems. We demonstrate an adaptable mechanism for integrating brain-computer interfaces into the Internet of Things infrastructure by introducing an intermediate layer – a smart mediator that will be responsible for communication between the environment and the neurointerface. The mediator’s software is generated automatically, and this process is driven by a managing ontology. The proposed formal model and the system's implementation are described. The approach we have developed enables researchers and engineers without strong background in brain–computer interface to automate the integration neurointerfaces with different infrastructures of Internet of Things.

Abstract:
Background: Integrated case based lectures are widely used as an effective method of teaching and learning. This method not only integrates all the disciplines in a particular year but also presents them in an effective case based format. Over the years, the students were less enthusiastic about this method. In order to make it more student centred and to actively involve them we have introduced peer case based integrated lectures. Peer assisted learning is a strong educational strategy known to benefit peer tutors and learners. This study evaluates the Knowledge gain of both the methods to see if there is any significant difference. Methods: Students in their 2nd year MBBS who agreed to participate were included in the study. After a series of discussions with the curriculum committee, the basic and clinical faculty, topics of public health importance were selected and written case scenarios with a set of relevant questions were formulated. In case based integrated lectures for tuberculosis, lectures were taken by faculty of the pertaining disciplines. In the peer case based integrated lectures on HIV, the same were taken by the students. A pre-test and post test was conducted after each session to know if there is a significant difference in knowledge gain in the two formats. Results: For the case based and peer led case based lectures, the mean student attendance was 90% and 86%. In the pre-test of integrated group on tuberculosis the mean score was 9.96 with standard deviation of 2.38. The post-test of the same group, the mean knowledge score was 13.63 with standard deviation of 2.20. There was significant improvement in knowledge with the case based integrated lectures of 3.67. The p value (0.0001) for this intervention is extremely significant. The post-test marks obtained for integrated and peer integrated group were 13.63±2.20 and 15.86±2.39 respectively. The mean increase in knowledge after peer case based integrated group was 6.1 when compared to increase in knowledge after case based integrated group which was 3.67.Conclusions: Integrated case base lectures is an effective teaching learning tool which can be further made student centric by involving students as peer teachers. Peer teaching is a valuable methodology to engage learners as teachers to improve their knowledge and communication skills as well creating an environment in which the peer audience will likely actively discuss and exchange ideas. Peer assisted learning is need of time to increase critical reasoning skills of medical students.

Abstract:
Technology is widely involved across the learning environment including its integration into teaching English as a foreign language (EFL); however, few studies have explored EFL teachers’ perceptions of technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK). This study investigates how EFL teachers perceive and self-evaluate knowledge of content (CK), pedagogy (PK), and technology (TK), the interplay of these with each other (TPACK), and the underlying influential factors for TPACK construction. The data were gathered in China from an online survey (n = 64) comprising 35 items on the TPACK components, and self-evaluation by nine survey participants of their TPACK in follow-up interviews. WeChat, the most popular social media App in China, was utilised as the data collection tool. The survey reveals teachers’ strong beliefs in the value of PK, CK and PCK and their positive beliefs about technological applications in EFL instruction. Consistent with these results, interviewees’ self-evaluation of TPACK demonstrates that they felt a high level of confidence in CK, PK and PCK but relatively less confidence when technology was integrated despite commonly applying technology to instruction. Influential factors include: 1) contextual factors; 2) knowledge of students; 3) demographic background; and 4) availability of quality training. Decision-makers’ financial support and policy-making, technological training in the integration of CK and/or PK, and a collaborative learning strategy are recommended.

Abstract:
Purpose – The integration and retrieval of the vast data have attracted sufficient attention, thus the W3C workgroup releases R2RML to standardize the transformation from relational data to semantic-aware data. However, it only provides a data transform mechanism to resource description framework (RDF). The generation of mapping alignments still needs manual work or other algorithms. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to propose a domain-oriented automatic mapping method and an application of the R2RML standard. Design/methodology/approach – In this paper, materials science is focussed to show an example of domain-oriented mapping. source field concept and M3B2 (Metal Materials Mapping Background Base) knowledge bases are established to support the auto-recommending algorithm. As for the generation of RDF files, the idea is to generate the triples and the links, respectively. The links of the triples follow the object-subject relationship, and the links of the object properties can be achieved by the range individuals and the trail path. Findings – Consequently based on the previous work, the authors proposed Engine for Metal Materials Mapping Background Base (EM3B2), a semantic integration engine for materials science. EM3B2 not only offers friendly graphical interfaces, but also provides auto-recommending mapping based on materials knowledge to enable users to avoid vast manually work. The experimental result indicates that EM3B2 supplies accurate mapping. Moreover, the running time of E3MB2 is also competitive as classical methods. Originality/value – This paper proposed EM3B2 semantic integration engine, which contributes to the relational database-to-RDF mapping by the application of W3C R2RML standard and the domain-oriented mapping.

Abstract:
Planning mental health services is a complex task requiring an understanding of background developments and key issues related to mental health services. In Canada, the deinstitutionalization of patients attempted to shift the locus of care from provincial psychiatric hospitals to general hospital psychiatric units. This resulted in the isolation of provincial psychiatric hospitals, general hospital psychiatric units and community mental health programs, with little overall accountability for the services provided — three solitudes. To move toward the creation of responsible, integrated systems a number of issues must be addressed: target population(s); the roles of provincial psychiatric and general hospitals; community support services; continuity of care; co-morbidity; consumerism; and methods of integration. In the development of a comprehensive mental health plan, each issue should be recognized and decisions made which are in keeping with current knowledge. A companion report will survey Canadian initiatives in mental health planning and discuss approaches to many of the issues identified.

Abstract:
Background: This paper describes a series of integrative courses intentionally designed to prepare students for Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs) in a block system curriculum. Innovation: Three integration blocks are interspersed throughout the didactic curriculum to serve as checkpoints to ensure competency as students progress in the curriculum, rather than waiting until the end to determine competency. Complex patient case discussions and a series of high-stakes assessments are used to reinforce and evaluate cumulative retention of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Findings: Class of 2022 exam results showed that in the cohort of students who failed the high-stakes comprehensive knowledge assessment (CKA) and pharmacy calculations exams during the first integration block (IB), failure rates decreased in subsequent IBs, indicating early detection of knowledge deficiencies and either exam performance improvement in each IB or failure to progress to the next IB. A survey of the same cohort indicated that the final integration block prior to advanced pharmacy practice experiences (APPEs) helped improve confidence in applying key knowledge and skills into practice. Conclusion: The series of integration blocks designed and implemented at WesternU provides opportunities to reinforce knowledge and skills while requiring students to demonstrate maintenance of core competency as they progress through the curriculum.

Abstract:
The several local wars that broke out at the turn of the century have shown to the world that the rapid development of high and new technology with information technology as the core is effectively promoting the pace of world military reform, and its most essential feature is information dominance. In local wars under modern high-tech conditions, rapid response and multiarms joint and coordinated operations have become the key factors to win, which requires multiarms, multiweapon platforms, and each combat unit software to work autonomously and dynamically. This research mainly discusses the dynamic posture prediction model in the informationized combat environment. It designs the organization of command elements, related data (products and tools), competency, personnel matching checklists, and activities in joint operational planning and relies on activities to model the binding of groups, capabilities, and related data. Finally, it forms process segments through the combined design of activities and then sets the final state and background knowledge constraints on the process segments to construct the process knowledge, turning each combat unit into an agent unit, so that the combat software unit has the performance characteristics of the agent’s autonomy, reactivity, and sociality. At the same time, it has good communication performance and autonomous negotiation ability, so it can realize the autonomous connection, communication, and cooperative work among multiagent systems. During the process execution or business processing, the seat staff can input the goal and background of the activity according to the current operating environment. It relies on the background constraints of the process knowledge to quickly match the corresponding process knowledge, insert the process fragments in the process knowledge into the original process, realize the rapid and efficient decomposition of the process redefinition, and effectively ensure the orderly development of the combat command. Techniques and methods for automating integration testing of combat systems are provided. These technologies are further applied to the process of combat system integration tests to improve the efficiency of combat system integration. In addition, through the research on the integration testing technology of combat systems, the problems of low generality of integration testing software and many structural repetitive codes can also be solved and the existing integration testing technology can be further improved. In the research, the time-consuming of the script interpretation module accounts for a relatively low proportion of about 5% of the simulation. The article embodies the platform to explore the realization of multiagent-based dynamic cooperative operations, to achieve the purpose of simulating the battlefield situation, rehearsing the combat plan, and evaluating the strike effect. This study will improve the efficiency of overall combat system integration.

Abstract:
The process of evolution in health sciences has followed a similar path from being analytical tosynthesized or holistic. Multidisciplinary approach has taken over the specialized approach in thearea of health care delivery that follows bio-psycho-social paradigm in the understanding andmanagement of health problems in the general hospital setting. Emergene of Behavioural Medicineis the result of such evolutionary process. Behavioural Medicine is the interdisciplinary fieldconcerned with the development and integration of behavioural and biomedical sciences, knowledge, and techniques relevant to health and illness and the application of this knowledge and thesetechniques to prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation. The present article reviews thehistorical aspects of the emergence of Behavioural Medicine on the background of biopsychosocialmodel and impact of life-style factors on health along with the clinical application and role ofBehavioural Medicine in the primary prevention. Relevance of Behavioural Medicine in thecontext of Nepal, and the contribution of clinical psychologists in the health care system of thecountry along with the need for accepting them in the mainstream of health professionals arehighlighted.

Abstract:
The key to improving the readability and usage of educational resources is their orderly arrangement and integration. Knowledge graphs, which are a large-scale form of knowledge engineering, are an effective tool for managing and organizing educational resources. The water conservancy’s educational big data is separated into three tiers of objectives–courses–knowledge units based on the connotation level of self-directed learning. Combined with the idea of Outcome-based Education(OBE), the goal-oriented knowledge graph structure of water conservancy disciplines and graph creation method is proposed. The focus is the error accumulation problem brought about by the traditional relational extraction method of Named Entity Recognition based on rules or sequence labeling. We first complete this objective, and then the relationship classification is performed according to the water conservancy disciplines entity and relations joint extraction (WDERJE) model, on which the prompt mechanism design is based. Think of the entity-relationship extraction task as a sequence-to-sequence generation task, and take the structured extraction language to unify the coding entity extraction and relationship extraction structures. The evaluation results of the WDERJE model show that the F_0.5 value of each entity extraction is above 0.76, and the cumulative extraction relationship triple is nearly 180,000. The graph fully optimizes the organization and management of water conservancy education resources and effectively improves the readability and utilization rate of water conservancy teaching resources.

Abstract:
Under the development strategy of "new economy and management", many financial institutions focus on the deep integration of the new generation of information technology and education and teaching, and information technology teaching has been paid attention to. The new training program requires students to be able to analyze large-scale data and have strong data analysis ability on the basis of mastering a programming language. The establishment of cases in line with the integration of theoretical teaching and programming teaching can cultivate students' interest in learning statistics and improve the teaching quality of statistics. In this paper, the experimental teaching is divided into three parts: The first part is to familiarize students with basic commands. The second part is to simplify the calculation. The third part is to let students understand the basic theory of statistics, which not only helps students improve Gauss programming ability, but also helps students understand the depth and breadth of statistical knowledge.

Ali, Radwan, and Dominic Thomas. "Innovative 3D Printing Integration in IS Education: A Case Study of Experiential Learning." Journal of Information Technology Education: Innovations in Practice 23 (2024): 016. https://doi.org/10.28945/5396.

Full text
Abstract:
Aim/Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to illustrate the integration of emerging technology (ET) integration in the information systems (IS) curriculum. Background: Modernizing the IS curriculum is consistently needed to meet the demands of the workplace. The IS2020 curriculum model recommends adding emerging technology learning into the IS curriculum. It presents recommendations for IS programs based on demands from education and the workplace. Methodology: We designed, implemented, and improved a 3D printing assignment that was delivered to sophomore-level and junior-level IS courses with multiple sections. The data was collected over seven semesters. The students were required to complete a survey after completing the printing task. Contribution: The paper has two contributions: (1) it provides IS educators with a recipe to integrate ET skills and knowledge into their pedagogy, and (2) it opens research opportunities for emerging technology to fill the gap in the IS literature. Findings: There was a high completion percentage of printing 3D objects. The student learning was enhanced by user engagement and constructivist knowledge creation. Recommendations for Practitioners: We need to create experiences that can drive deeper thinking about the role of emerging technology. That will grant learners opportunities for reflection on effective organizational use of such technologies. Recommendation for Researchers: Future research can benefit from assessing technology integrations through comparative studies. We suggest focusing on assessing success and failure factors and focusing on learner motivation. Impact on Society: College graduates can benefit from acquiring knowledge and skills in emerging technologies. These graduates can help their employer organizations improve their processes and advance their strategies. Future Research: Research on assessing technology integration in the IS curriculum should be explored. In addition, researchers should investigate the impact of integration on other disciplines outside of IS.
