Abstract:

L'Autrichienne Ingeborg Bachmann, poétesse, romancière, dramaturge et essayiste, née en 1926 dans la province de Carinthie (région limitrophe à la fois de l'Italie et de l'ex-Yougoslavie), et morte à quarante-sept ans plus tard à Rome, a laissé une oeuvre marquée par les grands bouleversements de son pays dans la première moitié du XXè siècle. L'effondrement de l'empire austro-hongrois et la disparition de ses anciennes frontières a signifié pour elle la mort d'un monde et d'une certaine idée d'universalité et de tolérance. Le sentiment de la précarité des frontières, soumises aux changements de l'Histoire, et le deuil du pays perdu se conjuguent avec la volonté de refuser tout ce qui fait obstacle à la soif d'éternité de l'individu. Ces lignes de force qui traversent l'œuvre s'opposent, fusionnent ou se condensent dans le mot "frontière", le remodèlent et le transcendent. Dans une première partie intitulée "Les frontières d'Ingeborg Bachmann", il s'agit de vérifier la pertinence de l'hypothèse de départ : les frontières historiques, géographiques et culturelles de son pays seraient-elles le fondement réel de la perception de la frontière par Ingeborg Bachmann ? On se demandera ensuite si la notion de frontière joue un rôle dans les conceptions théoriques d'Ingeborg Bachmann sur la littérature, puis on se posera le problème de son identité autrichienne et de son identité sexuelle : comment sera-t-elle perçue en tant que femme et écrivain ? Les deuxième et troisième parties de ce travail tiendront compte de l'aspect réversible de la frontière : frontière de vie et frontière de mort. On conclura à un univers bachmanien à polarité double
The austrian Ingeborg Bachmann, a poetess, novelist, dramatist and essayist, who was born in 1926, in the county of Carinthia (area near Italy and Slovenia), and died forty years after in Roma, left a work determinated by huge overthrows in her country, in the first half of the twentieth century. The downfall of the Austrio-Hungarian Empire and the disappearance of its former frontiers meant for her the death of a world and of a certain idea of universality and tolerance. In a first part, called the Frontiers of Ingerborg Bachmann, must be verified the pertinence of a hypothesis : the historical geographical and cultural frontiers of Ingeborg Bachmann are the actual basement of the perception of the frontier by her. Which is the role played by the frontier in the theoretical conceptions of the writer about literature ? The problem of her Austrian identity will be stated, then the problem of her sexual identity : how did she feel as a woman and a writer ? The second and third parts of this study will deal with the reversible aspect of the frontier : frontier of life and frontier of death. The conclusion will lead to a universe with double polarity

Ingeborg Bachmann a développé en 1959-1960, dans la leçon de Francfort Der Umgang mit Namen, une théorie des noms qui prévoit l'intégration des oeuvres d'art plastiques au texte littéraire et qui expose les fonctions de ces oeuvres dans le texte littéraire : sauver ce qui a disparu en apparence et montrer au lecteur comment, en renonçant à la vue, il peut ouvrir son regard à une autre perception qui met en mouvement le passé dans le présent, et inversement. Cette théorie des noms de l'art, déjà presque une théorie de l'image, reprend les différents aspects qu'Ingeborg Bachmann avait esquissés dans des poèmes précédant la leçon de Francfort et dans la nouvelle Das Lächeln der Sphinx (1949). Elle y esquisse les trois directions dans lesquelles se développera la théorie des noms : la greffe d'une oeuvre d'art plastique dans une image poétique, la conception d'une poétologie du voir et l'annonce de la déchéance des noms. Après les premiers poèmes intitulés Die unirdische Welle, Bachmann articule par la métaphore du sourire en vague et de la vague en oeil à partir de La Joconde (Leonard de Vinci) la liaison de ces différents éléments entre eux. L'intertextualité et la citation apparaissent comme les concepts littéraires et interdisciplinaires qui nous permettent d'articuler la transposition de l'image concrète vers le texte et, dans un deuxième temps, le passage de l'image concrète vers l'image poétique.

Abstract:

The female characters play a dominant part in Ingeborg Bachmann's prose writings. This study attempts first to determine the existence of a coherent image of the female in Bachmann's narrative prose and then to analyze it. In contrast with much of contemporary literature, Bachmann's females show so many "traditional' contours of behaviour and mentality that the question of a conventional sex-specific image arises with the attendant question as to its purpose. An analysis of these characteristics reveals that Bachmann's image of the woman deserves the appellation "sex-specific" but that these "traditional" characteristics are infused with new values: the values of individualism, of a specifically female identity and of a new and particularly intense personal freedom. Thus emotionalism, irrationality and vanity are components of a new form of personal development and expression that is less restricting and more self—oriented than the " traditional" image which many critics have assumed they represent. This interpretation provides the key to the solution of a second critical problem in Bachmann's fiction: the female-male antithesis. This antithesis often assumes violent dimensions such as in the theme of the "sick male" or the "victimized" female. Bachmann depicts the "female" characteristics in marked contrast to those of the male and lends them moral significance in an antithetical world of male versus female, whereby the female and her values are assigned a morally higher position. Here the emotionalism, irrationality and non-utilitarian thinking of the female stand in contrast and are deemed superior to the calculated behaviour, rational thought and efficiency of the male. The image of the male is extended to represent the technological, rational and inhumane aspect of modern society. Thus, Bachmann's image at times transcends the male-female issues and points to problems of a universal nature: the reaction of the individual against ever increasing strictures laid down by administrative, economic and social structures of modern industrialized societies. Finally, the theme of personal freedom underlies all the personal conflicts, motivations and aspirations of Bachmann's heroines. It finds expression in the most extreme form of longing for a state of being entirely lacking in any form of limitation whatsoever: the Grenzubertritt. The failure of Bachmann's females in marriage and family life, their unsatisfactory relationships with the opposite sex, are all seen to have their roots in the incompatibility of social commitment with this urge for personal freedom. Bachmann does not solve the dilemma but tried instead to give poetic form to these goals and values and to sustain the hope for the ultimate attainment of the Grenzubertritt.

L'analyse de la creation litteraire d'ingeborg bachmann sous l'angle de l'exotisme revele une projection des desirs de l'individu dans des univers etrangers face au conflit entre ses aspirations existentielles et les realites socio-politiques, un conflit qui determine la conception philosophique d'une utopie. Consideree en correlation avec les implications socio-politiques de la perception des realites - surtout etrangeres - depeintes dans l'oeuvre, la stylisation de la relation dialectique entre l'experience de la negation de l'individualite et la recherche de l'identite propre permet d'evaluer la perception de l'autre dans la conception poetologique et l'ecriture de l'auteur. Les references sociale et historiques, qui sous-tendent la critique de civilisation fondee sur une constellation afrique europe, par exemple, definissent la dimension interculturelle d'une confrontation de deux modeles de societe. Cette observation de soi et de l'autre donne l'occasion, a la lumiere de la confrontation du monde occidental au monde africain, de reflechir sur les rapports qui ont determine cette rencontre de cultures en mettant l'accent sur le phenomene d'alienation et la necessite d'une affirmation de l'identite culturelle, afin de degager la valeur essentielle d'une conscience historique indispensable a la realisation des conditions primaires d'une rencontre culturelle
The analysis of the representation of foreign worlds in ingeborg bachmann's literary works reveals an exotistic projection of the aspiration that the individual develops in the conflict between existential needs and the reality of the social and political world - a conflict that lies at the heart of the author's philosophical concept of utopian thinking. Because of the social and political implications involved in bachmann's perception of (especially foreign) reality, the literary form of the dialectic relationship which exists between the experience of the annihilation of the individual and the search for individual identity allows a discussion of the role of cultural difference in her writing as well as in her concept of literatur. The social an historical references, for instance, which underlie bachmann's critical view of culture in term of the constellation africa europe, define the inter-cultural dimension that the confrontation of two models of society implies in her works. Bachmann's treatment of the problems of the self and of difference are discussed in the light of the clash between the western world and africa in order to reflect on the conditions which determine the encounter of cultures. The discussion highlights the phenomenon of alienation and the necessity to affirm cultural identity so as to underline the essential value of historical awareness as an indispensable condition of the understanding of the forces at work in the encounter between cultures

L'objet de cette thèse est l'étude des relations homme-femme dans l'œuvre d'Ingeborg Bachmann. Le rapport des sexes est abordé comme le Leitmotiv de cette œuvre et comme une métaphore des multiplies polarités et ruptures qui caractérisent les écrits de l'auteur. La relation homme-femme est envisagée comme une forme privilégiée du rapport à l'autre et renvoie le texte littéraire à des données psychologiques (Freud, Weininger, Groddeck), historiques ou philosophiques (Heidegger, Wittgenstein, Jaspers, Bloch). Le but ultime de l'analyse est de remettre en cause les interprétations féministes trop réductrices tentées jusqu'ici et de montrer que l'autre (l'homme) est de plus en plus un produit imaginaire, une projection en négatif du je (la femme), à la fois objet d'une adoration mystique et d'une haine fanatique. L'analyse se développe en deux temps correspondant à des périodes distinctes dans la vie de l'auteur (récits de jeunesse, poésie, pièces radiophoniques, premiers textes en prose) jusqu'en 1961 et met en rapport la tension homme-femme avec la déchirure entre l'individu et le monde. Dans la seconde partie, l'analyse porte sur la transformation de la tension homme-femme en un conflit d'ordre éthique dans le cycle Todesarten, le fragment Gier et le recueil Simultan
The subject of this thesis is the study of the relationship between men and women in the work of Ingeborg Bachmann. The relation between both sexes is seen as a leitmotiv and as a metaphor of the multiple polarities and opposing themes in her work. The analysis considers the psychological and philosophical implications this question involves. In addition, this thesis tries to show the insufficiency of feminist interpretations. Men are first of all products and negative projections of the feminine imagination. The role of men is to serve as mediators between the ego and reality. In chapter are the interpretation focuses on the first part of Bachmann's work (poems, radio plays, prose until 1961) and explores the tension between men and woman in the context of the tension between the individual and the world. Chapter two deals with the transformation of this tension into an ethical conflict in “Todesarten”, “Gier” and “Simultan”

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Despite the consistency and regularity of Bachmann’s critique of journalists and journalistic content, there has been to date no dedicated study of her portrayal of the journalistic media in individual works or her work as a whole. This dissertation addresses this gap in Bachmann studies by undertaking a detailed and comprehensive analysis of Bachmann’s literary portrayal of the journalistic media from the time she first came into the literary spotlight in the early 1950s until her 1972 Simultan collection, the last work to be published in her lifetime. The primary focus of this dissertation is a close textual analysis of literary works in which Bachmann makes significant references to journalists and journalism, examining these references closely in the context of existing scholarly analyses. In a systematic analysis of each literary genre that Bachmann tackled—poetry, radio plays, short prose and novels—this study demonstrates that Bachmann’s critique of journalists and journalism recurs with notable frequency and consistency throughout her work from 1952 onwards. The detailed analyses show that Bachmann’s critique of the “fourth estate” ranges from the mildly critical to the vitriolic, and constantly returns to a core set of concerns about the misrepresentations perpetrated by the journalistic media. The negativity of Bachmann’s critique is, however, almost always offset (and even undercut) by evidence that the journalistic media are not always successful in their (according to Bachmann’s portrayal) deceitful and destructive practices. This results in the oxymoron encapsulated in a literal interpretation of Ich’s declaration in Malina that the press is “ein unglaublicher Betrug”: while Bachmann does her utmost to depict the press as “Betrug”, she simultaneously reveals to us that it is also “unglaublich” in the sense of “unglaubhaft”. What also emerges from this study is that Bachmann’s literary critique of the journalistic media as both deceptive and inherently destructive is often counterbalanced by a more positive and contrary element that points towards where and how we might find the truth that the journalistic media do not and cannot convey.

O objetivo da pesquisa O aspecto rítmico na tradução de cinco poemas de Ingeborg Bachmann é realizar traduções dos poemas \"Die gestundete Zeit\", \"Anrufung des Großen Bären\", \"Alle Tage\", \"Erklär mir, Liebe\" e \"Was wahr ist\" de Ingeborg Bachmann (1926-1973), as quais considerem o aspecto rítmico como fator fundamental do processo tradutório. Para tanto, serão analisadas as estruturas internas do ritmo nos poemas escolhidos à luz de reflexões teóricas acerca de o que é e como se manifesta o ritmo. A partir de tal análise e das reflexões será proposta, por fim, uma estratégia de trabalho tradutório que privilegie tais estruturas rítmicas no texto de chegada.
The purpose of The rhythmic aspect on translating five poems from Ingeborg Bachmann is to translate the poems ,,Die gestundete Zeit\", ,,Anrufung des Großen Bären\", ,,Alle Tage\", ,,Erklär mir, Liebe\" and ,,Was wahr ist\", so that on translating them their rhythmic aspect will be of cardinal importance. To this end, the internal rhythmic structures within those poems will be analysed under theories which state what the rhythm is and how it displays itself in a poem. Based on this analysis and on the theoretical reflection I will then propose a translating strategy in which these rhythmic structures are the priority in the target language.

Abstract:

In this paper I study the Austrian author Ingeborg Bachmann’s novel Malina (1971) from the perspective of Gérard Genette’s narrative theory and his notions of tense, mood and voice. In dialogue with earlier research on Malina I reflect over the last scene in the novel, what really happens there and how it matters for the rest of the novel. I give an account of feminist theories with focus on the annihilation of the female voice, the memory as theatre and the folklore tale as flight. The result is a more distinct perception of Bachmann’s skill, closeness and awareness as a writer and her use of Malina as contribution to the feminist debate and as a tool to find a place in the patriarchal world of intellectual, postwar Vienna.
I min uppsats har jag undersökt hur Ingeborg Bachmanns roman Malina är uppbyggd ur ett berättartekniskt perspektiv med hjälp av Gérard Genettes begrepp tempus, modus och röst. I diskussion med tidigare forskning har jag reflekterat över vad det är som sker i romanens slutscen och vad det har för betydelse för resten av verket. Jag har redogjort för tidigare forskning som med feministisk grund studerar förintandet av den kvinnliga rösten, minnet som teater och sagan som flykt. Resultaten är en tydligare bild av Bachmanns tekniska skicklighet, täthet och medvetenhet som författare och hur hon dels använder Malina som ett inlägg i den feministiska debatten och dels använder den som ett verktyg för att själv kunna verka i det intellektuella, men patriarkala efterkrigstidens Wien.

La importancia de elaborar un plan de negocios en cualquier empresa radica en la clarificación del funcionamiento y desempeño del negocio, conocer a conciencia la industria donde compite la empresa, identificar estrategias que permitan alcanzar el éxito y requisito para realizar alianzas estratégicas u obtener fondos de inversionistas. La presente investigación pretende explorar las estrategias de crecimiento que Pirca Bachas podría seguir teniendo en cuenta sus recursos actuales y el contexto recientemente modificado por la pandemia de Covid 19. Para conocer las características internas de la empresa y de sus clientes actuales, se estudiará su funcionamiento, sus fortalezas y debilidades y los resultados de una encuesta realizada a sus clientes. El contexto externo de la empresa se describirá mediante estadísticas que brinda la cámara Argentina de Comercio Electrónico y diversas fuentes periodísticas reconocidas. Se explorarán las posibles estrategias de crecimiento, sus ventajas y desventajas con relación a la situación actual de Pirca Bachas. De acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos se recomienda a la empresa implementar en el corto plazo las siguientes estrategias: Desarrollo de productos, incorporando nuevos modelos de bachas y mejorando los materiales utilizados para su impermeabilización, Integración horizontal, mediante una alianza estratégica con Red Disensa pudiendo ampliar de esta manera los canales actuales de distribución.

Abstract:

This thesis examines a selection of poems of Ingeborg Bachmann and Paul Celan for stylistic devices, used to express the dynamic of speaking and silence in the poems. The main question of the thesis is how speaking and silencing are represented in the poetry of Ingeborg Bachmann and Paul Celan and which influence has the philosophy of Ludwig Wittgenstein and Martin Heidegger on this representation. For both poets the problem of speaking and expressing themselves appeared to be an acute question in the post-war time (World War II). The language scepticism led to the reconsideration of the role of language in poetry and the search for the new ways of expression.

Abstract:

L'intérêt de la critique pour quelques thèmes majeurs du projet romanesque inachevé des "Façons de mourir" a favorisé une lecture de l'ensemble de l'œuvre de Bachmann à travers ces thèmes liés à la souffrance et à la destruction dans les relations humaines. Or la problématique des "Façons de mourir", présente dans tous les textes en prose de l'auteur, a trait à une multitude d'enjeux qui sont loin de porter exclusivement sur ces thèmes; l'analyse de ces enjeux nécessite une lecture d'ensemble de l'œuvre. Les questions liées à l'espace et au temps étant omniprésentes dans tous les textes en prose de Bachmann, elles se prêtent bien à une étude portant sur l'œuvre dans son ensemble. Elles permettent également de rétablir les liens étroits entre les nouvelles de la trentième année et les autres textes de Bachmann. Le recours aux écrits théoriques de l'auteur révèle quelques tensions majeures liées à des enjeux d'espace et de temps, comme la limite de la connaissance et du langage et la lutte contre ces limites. Dans les leçons de Francfort, l'espace et le temps occupent une place privilégiée dans la conception littéraire de Bachmann. La polarité et les conflits spatio-temporels mis en avant dans ces écrits se répercutent sur les textes en prose de l'auteur. Leur étude met en lumière à la fois la continuité entre les textes et la diversité de l'œuvre, tout en permettant d'apporter un nouvel éclairage à la problématique des "façons de mourir"
The prosa fiction of Ingeborg Bachmann mainly consists in three works: the first narratives das Dreissigstejahr, the novel Malina and the last narratives Simultan. When Bachmann died, in 1973, she left many hundreds of pages of fragments and notes belonging to her novel project Todesarten ("Ways of dying"), which was planned as a trilogy; Malina was a part of it. The great interest of the critics for the unachieved part of Bachmann’s writing lead to the concentration on the themes of "Ways of dying", like suffering and destruction in the modern world, letting forget that the texts are many-sided. By studying the different texts together, and by confronting the last works of Bachmann with her early narratives, the questions of space and time, present in all of them, revel various stratums in the texts. Some works of theory, and especially the conception of literature Bachmann presented in the frankfurter vorlesungen helps not to avoid the complexity of her writing; the links between her prosa texts and some main concepts the author defined for the construction of her works show that questions of space and time are the most adapted way to enter them
