Particle physics makes progress in three Frontiers: (1) High Energy Frontier, (2) High Intensity Frontier, and (3) High Precision Frontier. Category (1) will be dominated by the SSC and LHC experiments in the next decade and (3) by precise measurements of the (g−2)μ and sin2θw. In category (2) there will be a new round of intense “factories” constructed for rare K decays, [τ charm] studies, ϕ Factories and B Factories. Each of these Factories provide new physics possibilities as illustrated in Table 1. Note that the High Intensity Frontier is sometimes the same as the High Precision Frontier since high statistics are usually needed for high precision. In this brief note we describe some of the current possibilities for B Meson Factories.

Abstract:
Nonleptonic decays of B mesons into two mesons or meson resonances are studied on the basis of two versions of simple pole dominance models involving scalar, vector, pseudoscalar and axial vector poles. The results are compared with those obtained from the usual factorization model and are used to obtain information on strong coupling constants between the B meson and one light or one charmed meson, respectively. These coupling constants are compared to results from various QCD sum rule calculations.

We estimate the isospin-violating QED radiative corrections to the charged-to-neutral ratios of the decay rates for B+ and B0 in non-leptonic B meson decays. In particular, these corrections are potentially important for precision measurement of the charged-to-neutral production ratio of B meson in e+e- annihilation. We calculate explicitly the QED corrections to the ratios of two different types of decay rates Γ(B+→J/ψK+)/Γ(B0→J/ψK0) and [Formula: see text] taking into account the form factors of the mesons based on the vector meson dominance model, and compare them with the results obtained for the point-like mesons.

Abstract:
We review how quark models are able to describe the phenomenology of the charm meson sector. The spectroscopy and decays of charmonium and open charm mesons are described in a particular quark model and compared with the data and the results of other existing models in the literature. A quite reasonable global description of the heavy meson spectra is reached. A new assignment of the ψ(4415) resonance as a 3D state leaving aside the 4S state to the X(4360) is tested through the analysis of the resonance structure in e+e- exclusive reactions around the ψ(4415) energy region. We make tentative assignments of some of the XYZ mesons. To elucidate the structure of the 1+cs states, i.e., Ds1(2460) and Ds1(2536), we study the strong decay properties of the Ds1(2536) meson. We also perform a calculation of the branching fractions for the semileptonic decays of B and Bs mesons into final states containing orbitally excited charmed and charmed-strange mesons, which have become a very important source of information about the structure of heavy mesons. Analysis of the nonleptonic B-meson decays into D(*)DsJ are also included.

Abstract:
The possibilities of B′ meson mixing is discussed. It is found that if fB′ is not much smaller than fπ, B's (or B'd) mixing is possible if |Vt′s Vt′b′/Vcb′| is large, but only for not too heavy b′ masses, e.g. below LEP I energies. The B'b meson will have large mixing for a broad range of parameters; however, it is hard to produce. The vector mesons (B′*) may exhibit mixing phenomena as well. A discussion of our present understanding of meson decay constants of a heavy-light system [Formula: see text] is given. Further efforts on this problem is needed, which will have an impact on our understanding of B mixing as well.

Abstract:
Leptonic decays of B-mesons are theoretically very clean probes for testing the Standard Model (SM) and possible physics beyond it. Amongst the various leptonic decays of the B-meson, the pure dileptonic decay B → ℓ+ ℓ- is very important, as this mode is helicity suppressed in the SM but can be substantially enhanced in some of the models beyond the SM, such as supersymmetric (SUSY) theories and the two Higgs doublet model (2HDM). Although the purely dileptonic decay mode is helicity suppressed in the SM its associated mode B → ℓ+ ℓ-γ does not have the same suppression, due to the presence of γ in the final state. In this paper we will also analyze the effects of enhanced Z-penguins on these two decay modes.

Abstract:
The decays of the B meson into vector mesons, observed during the LHCb experiment, provide an ideal laboratory to investigate particle physics phenomena with quantum information theory methods. In this article, we focus on the decays yielding a pair of ϕ mesons to investigate the presence of entanglement in the spin correlations of the system and quantify the amount of Bell inequality violation it entails. Our results show that the present LHCb data allow access to entanglement and to the Bell inequality violation with a significance exceeding the 5σ threshold in both the cases. This demonstrates that the strong and electroweak interactions responsible for the B meson decay act as a source of entanglement and the quantum mechanics nature of high-energy phenomena. Particular attention is paid to the assessment of loopholes: deficiencies in the experimental setup which could invalidate the results of the Bell test.

Abstract:
We report the status of an ongoing lattice-QCD calculation of form factors for exclusive semileptonic decays of B mesons with both charged currents (B → πlv, Bs → Klv) and neutral currents (B → πl+l-, B → Kl+l-). The results are important for constraining or revealing physics beyond the Standard Model. This work uses MILC’s (2+1 + 1)-flavor ensembles with the HISQ action for the sea and light valence quarks and the clover action in the Fermilab interpretation for the b quark. Simulations are carried out at three lattice spacings down to 0.088 fm, with both physical and unphysical sea-quark masses. We present preliminary results for correlation-function fits.

We review the two- and three-body baryonic B decays with the dibaryon ( B B ′ ¯ ) as the final states. Accordingly, we summarize the experimental data of the branching fractions, angular asymmetries, and CP asymmetries. Using the W -boson annihilation (exchange) mechanism, the branching fractions of B ⟶ B B ′ ¯ are shown to be interpretable. In the approach of perturbative QCD counting rules, we study the three-body decay channels. In particular, we review the CP asymmetries of B ⟶ B B ′ ¯ M , which are promising to be measured by the LHCb and Belle II experiments. Finally, we remark the theoretical challenges in interpreting B B − ⟶ p p ¯ ρ − and B B − ⟶ p p ¯ μ − ν ¯ μ .

We present new measurements of CP-violation parameters in B0 → ϕK0, [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text] decays based on a sample of [Formula: see text] pairs collected at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e+e- collider. One neutral B meson is fully reconstructed in one of the specified decay channels, and the flavor of the accompanying B meson is identified from its decay products. CP-violation parameters for each of the decay modes are obtained from the asymmetries in the distributions of the proper-time intervals between the two B decays. All results are preliminary.

Abstract:
A systematic calculation for the transition form factors of heavy to light mesons (B, Bs, D, Ds→ π, K, η, ρ, K*, ω, ϕ) is carried out by using light-cone sum rules in the framework of heavy quark effective field theory. The heavy quark symmetry at the leading order of 1/mQexpansion enables us to reduce the independent wave functions and establish interesting relations among form factors. Some relations hold for the whole region of momentum transfer. The meson distribution amplitudes up to twist-4 including the contributions from higher conformal spin partial waves and light meson mass corrections are considered. The CKM matrix elements |Vub|, |Vcs| and |Vcd| are extracted from some relatively well-measured decay channels. A detailed prediction for the branching ratios of heavy to light meson decays is then presented. The resulting predictions for the semileptonic and radiative decay rates of heavy to light mesons (B, Bs, D, Ds→ π, K, η, ρ, K*, ω, ϕ) are found to be compatible with the current experimental data and can be tested by more precise experiments at B-factory, LHCb, BEPCII and CLEOc.

The B-meson system is an interesting probe for the exploration of strong interactions, the quark-flavour sector of the Standard Model, and the search for new physics. In this programme, non-leptonic B decays, which are particularly challenging from the point of view of QCD, play a key rôle. After discussing strategies to deal with the corresponding hadronic matrix elements of four-quark operators and popular avenues for new physics to manifest itself in B decays, we focus on puzzling patterns in the B-factory data for B → ππ, πK decays; we explore their implications for hadron physics, new physics and rare K and B decays.

These rare decay processes proceed through the Flavor-Changing-Neutral-Current processes, and thus are sensitive to the postulated new particles in the theories beyond the Standard Model. Experiments at e+e- colliders, Belle, BaBar and CLEO, have been playing the dominant role, while the CDF and D0 experiments have just started to provide new results from Tevatron Run-II. The most significant achievement is the first observation of the decay B→K*ℓ+ℓ-, which opens a new window to search for new physics in B meson decays.

Three double-ring B factories—PEP-II, KEKB, and SuperKEKB—were built with asymmetric beam energies to produce high luminosity at the Υ(4S) resonance producing copious B mesons and associated particle physics data, delivered to their respective particle physics detectors, BaBar, Belle, and Belle II. In PEP-II and KEKB, the primary goal was achieved to make the first measurements of charge parity (CP) violation in decays in the B meson system. PEP-II and KEKB have finished beam operations, but particle data analysis continues. SuperKEKB is extending those measurements. The beam operation of SuperKEKB with Belle II has recently started. These three accelerators have pushed the state of the art of accelerators of two-ring colliders, including small beam emittances, small interaction point beam sizes, large stored beam currents, crab cavities, top-up injection with the detectors on, bunch-by-bunch feedbacks, crab waist operation, high beam–beam parameters, high peak luminosity, and high integrated luminosity.

Abstract:
This review discusses the present experimental and theoretical status of rare flavor-changing neutral current b-quark decays at the beginning of 2018. It includes a discussion of the experimental situation and details of the currently observed anomalies in measurements of flavor observables, including lepton flavor universality. Progress on the theory side within and beyond the Standard Model theory is also discussed, together with potential New Physics interpretations of the present measurements.

Abstract:
The aim of this text is to present the covariant confined quark model (CCQM) and review its applications in the decays of B mesons. We do so in the context of existing experimental measurements and theoretical results of other authors, which we also review. The physics principles are, in detail, exposed for the CCQM; the other results (theoretical and experimental) are surveyed in an enumerative way with comments. We proceed by considering, successively, three categories of decay processes: leptonic, semileptonic and non-leptonic.
