Abstract:
In his 2011 French Studies article ‘Leroi-Gourhan and the Limits of the Human’, Chris Johnson traced André Leroi-Gourhan's ethnography of the imbrication of the biological, cultural, and technological in Le Geste et la parole (1964). Johnson placed special emphasis on how Leroi-Gourhan's narrative culminates in a speculative vision of a homo post-sapiens: a limit-experience in which our species evolves beyond the human as we understand it in an increasingly automated world. This article takes up the conceptual genealogy surrounding Leroi-Gourhan to focus on the interaction between his work and that of his unruly predecessor André Breton, and heir, Bernard Stiegler. Taking as its starting point the linguistic contagion of automatism and automation, it will argue that Stiegler's contemporary reflections on our ‘automatic society’ are rooted in a Bretonian surrealist preoccupation with the automatic – not as a category of alienation, but as a wellspring of creativity, dreams, and subjectivity unfurling in language. Understanding how contemporary French technocritical thought has filtered down from avant-garde artistic movements through anthropology in an unruly technocritical genealogy offers an opportunity to reclaim the notion of the automatic, and to reconfigure our expectations and plans for our technological future.

Abstract:
Based on the classification of automated driving by the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) and the working principle of the ECPBS (Electronically Controlled Pneumatic Brake system), the requirements and the control modes of the APRV (Automatic Pressure Regulating Valve) were concluded. Four structural configurations for APRV were proposed to meet the requirements of the ECPBS. To study the pressure regulating characteristics of the APRV of different structure configurations, a simulation model was established, and a test bench was built. Through experiments, the correctness and the reliability of the simulation model were verified. The pressure regulation characteristics of the APRV of different structure configurations under different control conditions were revealed, and the suitable levels in the SAE automated driving classifications for automatic pressure regulators of different structure configurations were determined; thus, the theoretical underpinning to improve driving safety and develop automated driving was provided.

Abstract:
The COVID-19 is the infectious disease caused by the coronavirus which is a respiratory pathogen. Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing hospital treatment. About 20% of those who get COVID-19 become seriously ill and require oxygen, with 5% becoming critically ill and needing intensive care. Complications leading to death may include respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), etc. To have a solution on this we are getting treatment from doctors, nurses and they are doing their best. But sometimes this is causing problem as they cannot give attention to each and every patient because of work load. On this situation. To help society, to help people we have a product which we can use as an attendee to the patient. This product can help patient to get his/her medications and syrups on time and majorly helps to the Covid-19 suffering patient to control patient’s oxygen level.

Liebenberg, Janet, and Vreda Pieterse. "Investigating the Feasibility of Automatic Assessment of Programming Tasks." Journal of Information Technology Education: Innovations in Practice 17 (2018): 201–23. http://dx.doi.org/10.28945/4150.

Full text
Abstract:
Aim/Purpose: The aims of this study were to investigate the feasibility of automatic assessment of programming tasks and to compare manual assessment with automatic assessment in terms of the effect of the different assessment methods on the marks of the students. Background: Manual assessment of programs written by students can be tedious. The assistance of automatic assessment methods might possibly assist in reducing the assessment burden, but there may be drawbacks diminishing the benefits of applying automatic assessment. The paper reports on the experience of a lecturer trying to introduce automated grading. Students’ solutions to a practical Java programming test were assessed both manually and automatically and the lecturer tied the experience to the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). Methodology: The participants were 226 first-year students registered for a Java programming course. Of the tests the participants submitted, 214 were assessed both manually and automatically. Various statistical methods were used to compare the manual assessment of student’s solutions with the automatic assessment of the same solutions. A detailed investigation of reasons for differences was also carried out. A further data collection method was the lecturer’s reflection on the feasibility of automatic assessment of programming tasks based on the UTAUT. Contribution: This study enhances the knowledge regarding benefits and drawbacks of automatic assessment of students’ programming tasks. The research contributes to the UTAUT by applying it in a context where it has hardly been used. Furthermore, the study is a confirmation of previous work stating that automatic assessment may be less reliable for students with lower marks, but more trustworthy for the high achieving students. Findings: An automatic assessment tool verifying functional correctness might be feasible for assessment of programs written during practical lab sessions but could be less useful for practical tests and exams where functional, conceptual and structural correctness should be evaluated. In addition, the researchers found that automatic assessment seemed to be more suitable for assessing high achieving students. Recommendations for Practitioners: This paper makes it clear that lecturers should know what assessment goals they want to achieve. The appropriate method of assessment should be chosen wisely. In addition, practitioners should be aware of the drawbacks of automatic assessment before choosing it. Recommendation for Researchers: This work serves as an example of how researchers can apply the UTAUT theory when conducting qualitative research in different contexts. Impact on Society: The study would be of interest to lecturers considering automated assessment. The two assessments used in the study are typical of the way grading takes place in practice and may help lecturers understand what could happen if they switch from manual to automatic assessment. Future Research: Investigate the feasibility of automatic assessment of students’ programming tasks in a practical lab environment while accounting for structural, functional and conceptual assessment goals.

Abstract:
In modern conditions, informatization permeate into all spheres of society. This also applies to the educational sphere. At the moment, many software products are involved in the educational process. Involve of software products helps to increase the clarity and aesthetics of students' paperwork. At the same time, the dominance of technical means increases the student load. It should also be noted that the speed of paperwork is often reduced. Students spend more time on the results with the help of technical means than on the work done by hand. This contradiction can be resolved by students acquiring skills in working with automated documents. This work is devoted to the development of methods for training students the principles of creating automated documents through the use of automatic elements: styles, objects, labels, links, automatic lists of various directions. The theoretic, practical and individual stages are fixed in the developed method. The thematic plan with covering all parties of automatic elements application at document creation is designed. The main tools used to create an automated document in most of the software products used are highlighted. Chief among these tools are: labels, links, programmable fields. To work with documents, you can use many software products, among which the most common are Microsoft Office, LaTeX, Libre Office. Today, given the current trend of distributing free licenses of software products for educational institutions and education seekers, the Microsoft Office suite remains the most popular among students. Taking this into account, the work provides examples of the implementation of tasks that correspond to the compiled thematic plan using the means of the Microsoft Office package. All examples are accompanied by pictures explaining the use of the selected automatic element. As a result of the work, a method for training students the principles of creating automated documents was formulated. Implementation of the designed training method allows to reduce the time spent on preparing an electronic document, improve the documents design quality and increase the flexibility of the received content for export, import and editing operations.

The value of automatic machine system is the compound value of the organic unity of the practical value form and the theoretical value form of sublating the logical power of capital that human (labor) sublates to the capitalist production mode, and it is manifested as the historical dialectical development law of labor (value) -- capital (surplus value) -- labor (value). The value evaluation of automatic machine system mainly includes human learning value and thinking value. Artificial intelligence is perhaps the technological innovation of our time with the strongest impact on society. Due to its capabilities, it is suitable for participating in many decisions during the employment relationship and even for automating certain processes. In my study, I examine the legal context in which the use of these tools, which involves extensive data management, can be properly implemented. I examine the prohibition of automatic decision-making and profiling in the GDPR as well as the exceptions to this, narrowing it down to cases that can also be applied in the employment relationship. Finally, I present the unintended consequences of using this technology as well as the potential issues to be aware of.

As I show with examples from the Grundrisse and the Capital, some fundamentals of Marx’s critique of political economy can be rewritten with simple substitutions to yield surprisingly pertinent analyses of today’s “information society” and the role that data and AI play in it. The reason behind this strange phenomenon is that Marx’s penetrating study of money as a dehumanizing abstraction and self-replicating capital can be extended with minor changes to the main abstraction and “automatic fetish” of our historical regime: digital data. As money-capital tends to grow by itself independently of humans, so does data. AI is the main engine of this new dangerous cycle.

Abstract:
AbstractWhat is the argument against government? There are several. For one thing, there is automatic exit for failure: businesses that do not earn a profit go bankrupt, and their resources tend to migrate to other, more effective, managers. For another, entrepreneurs operate with their own funds, or those voluntarily entrusted to them. This does not apply to bureaucrats and politicians, in sharp contrast. Perhaps most important, in the case of each and every commercial interaction in the market, buying, selling, renting, lending, borrowing, there is mutual gain at least in the ex ante sense of anticipations, and usually ex post, after the trade, as well. This rarely occurs under statism, at least not with regard to its source of funds, taxation, since it is not voluntary. An exception would be the relatively unimportant cases in which a consumer purchases something from the government, such as a ticket to cross a bridge, or a producer sells something to this organization, such as an airplane. The present paper is an attempt to elaborate upon this considerations.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Staphylococcus aureus is the leading cause of community and healthcare-associated bacteremia and carries a high burden with a substantial mortality, ranging from 20 to 40 %. Evidence suggests infectious disease (ID) consultation improves mortality and adherence to the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) guidelines. Due to complications from a lack of ID consultation, a notification system consisting of automated e-mails to ID providers was implemented. The objective of this study was to review the impact of the automatic notification to ID consultants with positive blood culture results in a community hospital system. Methods Cases of staphylococcus aureus bacteremia were identified from the microbiology database by at least one positive blood culture. The automated e-mail notification system was implemented in December 2014. ID providers were encouraged to verbally contact primary providers for positive results. Cases of bacteremia prior to implementation of the automated notification system were compared with those post-intervention. Patients under age 18 were excluded. Data gathered included mortality, re-admission rates, and compliance with IDSA guidelines. Results There were no significant differences in inpatient mortality (9 vs. 18%, P = 0.180). 30-day mortality between the two groups (18 vs. 20%, P = 0.815). The 30-day readmission rate among surviving patients was reduced by 50% (40% vs. 19%, P = 0.014). Compliance with antibiotic duration in complicated bacteremia increased post-intervention (57% vs. 85%, P = 0.04). Conclusion An automatic notification to ID specialists reporting patients with Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia led to improved compliance with IDSA guidelines regarding antibiotic duration and reduced re-admission rates. There was no effect on overall mortality. All authors: No reported disclosures.

We see that many automobile accidents are becoming a significant safety problem in the current society. Both human and animal lives are damaged by vehicle collisions. Due to breaking problems and quick response times when there is an impediment, more crashes happen. Therefore, the automated braking system for cars is presented in this work. Consumers are increasingly using their cellphones and the internet to make direct purchases rather than going to conventional brick-and-mortar establishments. Thanks to the internet, conducting business has never been quicker or easier than it is right now. A transmitter and a receiver are part of an ultrasonic system that is positioned in front of the vehicle. Life’s price cannot be calculated. This device measures the distance between obstacles using an ultrasonic sensor and notifies the driver when one is present. This essay also demonstrates the automated microcontroller's operation. The car will automatically stop when the safe separation distance is achieved. Its typical response time is 0.90 seconds, and its typical error rate based on the actual distance of the barrier is 11.2 seconds.

These instructions give you guidelines for preparing papers for An existence without electricity can't be thought of since it turns into an integral part of human life. In a developing country, people use postpaid electricity for their own purposes. Be that as it may, they don't know the amount of electricity they have consumed and how much cost they have done likewise till they receive the consumption bill at the end of the month. Also, in prepaid meters, to see consumption details, people have to go in front of the meter. In this research, a system has been designed based on GSM technology to solve this problem. The prepaid meter has to be recharged; as a result, clients can use the electricity. The system alerts the client for any kind of emergency. Besides, when the client is away from the house, he can easily switch off the supply of electricity by sending an SMS. This project will support both society and country because it helps to reduce the wastage of electricity and to check electricity consumption and bill from remote distances.

Abstract:
In recent years, accelerative aging society is meeting the short supply of young and middle-aged labor. Particularly, most young people are reluctant to work in the construction industry, which has caused the labor cost of floor tiling to rise year by year. In addition, floor tiling requires workers to continuously bend over or lean over to work, which greatly jeopardizes the physical health of them. Therefore, advanced technology applied in floor tiling is highly demanded to replace the traditional manual method. On the context, the automatic method of floor tiling may promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry. Although a few robots for floor tiling have been developed, the automation of existing systems is still at a low level. This paper proposes a robot floor-tiling control strategy based on visual measurement feedback and finite-state machine, in which the calculation of tile position information in limited field of vision is obtained by an improved Canny edge detection and a Hough linear transformation. Moreover, an algorithm for complementing tile position information based on visual measurement is proposed, and the quality of tile laying is evaluated online. To evaluate the effect of the proposed control strategy, the experimental verifications are given. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method can complete the automatic floor tiling with high accuracy.

Abstract:
Purpose Level 3 automated driving, which has been defined by the Society of Automotive Engineers, may cause driver drowsiness or lack of situation awareness, which can make it difficult for the driver to recognize where he/she is. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to conduct an experimental study with a driving simulator to investigate whether automated driving affects the driver’s own localization compared to manual driving. Design/methodology/approach Seventeen drivers were divided into the automated operation group and manual operation group. Drivers in each group were instructed to travel along the expressway and proceed to the specified destinations. The automated operation group was forced to select a course after receiving a Request to Intervene (RtI) from an automated driving system. Findings A driver who used the automated operation system tended to not take over the driving operation correctly when a lane change is immediately required after the RtI. Originality/value This is a fundamental research that examined how the automated driving operation affects the driver's own localization. The experimental results suggest that it is not enough to simply issue an RtI, and it is necessary to tell the driver what kind of circumstances he/she is in and what they should do next through the HMI. This conclusion can be taken into consideration for engineers who design automatic driving vehicles.
