Full text
Abstract:
The paper describes an automated method for grinding small ceramic elements using a hyperboloid wheel. The problem of automating the process of machining elements made of nonmagnetic materials with a small area and low height has been solved. Automation of the grinding process was possible thanks to automatic clamping of workpieces in the machining zone and sequential processing by a specified number of grinding wheels. The workpieces were passed through successive machining zones. The division of the allowance of individual grinding wheels was made taking into account the characteristics of the workpieces and the requirements for the results of the machining. Obtaining a long grinding zone and the effect of automatic clamping of the workpieces was possible due to the inclination of the grinding wheel axis in relation to the plane of movement of the workpieces. Innovative aggregate grinding wheels were used for grinding. The aggregates containing diamond abrasive grains, connected with a metal bond, were embedded in the porous structure of the resin bond. The aggregates ensured high efficiency of grinding, and their developed surface contributed to good holding in the resin binder. The durability of grinding wheels was 64 h, which enables the machining of 76,000 ceramic elements.

Abstract:
Semantic technologies are the keys to address the problem of information interaction between assorted, heterogeneous, and distributed devices in the Internet of Things (IoT). Semantic annotation of IoT devices is the foundation of IoT semantics. However, the large amount of devices has led to the inadequacy of the manual semantic annotation and stressed the urgency into the research of automatic semantic annotation. To overcome these limitations, a device-oriented automatic semantic annotation method is proposed to annotate IoT devices’ information. The processes and corresponding algorithms of the automatic semantic annotation method are presented in detail, including the information extraction, text classification, property information division, semantic label selection, and information integration. Experiments show that our method is effective for the automatic semantic annotation to IoT devices’ information. In addition, compared to a typical rule-based method, the comparison experiment demonstrates that our approach outperforms this baseline method with respect to the precision and F-measure.

Abstract: The world faced so many problems during the Covid-19 pandemic. Washing our hands was an integral part of preventive measures of the Covid-19. But it is found that it wastes so much water in the world. Many people do not have access to clean drinking water and face water scarcity. The sanitizer is also used by many people. But excessive use of sanitizer with high alcohol concentration leads to dry, itchy skin. The indirect consumption of sanitizer through the hands leads to the risk of other health conditions. In this proposed system, fog making technology is used for dispensing sanitizer. So that only the required quantity of sanitizer is dispensed and it covers the entire surface area of hands, guaranteeing the disinfection of hands. This system is proposed to reduce water usage by around 90%. It also saves 20-30% of the water that rolls over the hands while washing the hands and also the water required for washing hands. This system did not completely replace the handwashing method but it helped in saving a remarkable quantity of water. It also helped in preventing skin diseases and other potential health hazards. Abstract:
Introduction: Selecting the appropriate Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device sizing for the treatment of wide-neck bifurcation aneurysms (WNBAs) remains challenging. The aim of this study was to evaluate different volumetric-based imaging methodologies to predict an accurate WEB device size selection to result in a successful implantation. Methods: All consecutive patients treated with WEB devices for intracranial aneurysms from January 2019 to June 2020 were included. Aneurysm dimensions to calculate aneurysm volumes were measured using three different modalities: automated three-dimensional (3D) digital subtraction angiography (DSA), manual 3D DSA, and two-dimensional (2D) DSA. The device–aneurysm volume (DAV) ratio was defined as device volume divided by the aneurysm volume. WEB volumes and the DAV ratios were used for assessing the device implantation success and follow-up angiographic outcomes at six months. Pearson correlation, Wilcoxon Rank Sum test, and density approximations were used for estimating the WEB volumes and the imaging modality volumes for successful implantation. Results: A total of 41 patients with 43 aneurysms were included in the study. WEB device and aneurysm volume correlation coefficient was highest for 3D automatic (r = 0.943), followed by 3D manual (r = 0.919), and 2D DSA (r = 0.882) measurements. Measured median volumes were significantly different for 3D automatic and 2D DSA (p = 0.017). The highest rate of successful implantation (87.5%) was between 0.6 and 0.8 DAV ratio. Conclusion: Pre-procedural assessment of DAV ratios may increase WEB device implantation success. Our results suggest that volumetric measurements, especially using automated 3D volumes of the aneurysms, can assist in accurate WEB device size selection.

Abstract:
Musculoskeletal disorders may affect labor efficiency, cause disability, impair one’s work ability, and lower one’s quality of life. This consequently leads to a larger expenditure of medical resources. We aimed to design easy-to-open assistive devices for pneumatic tube systems to improve ergonomics and reduce musculoskeletal complaints of workers. We followed a design control process, including designs of motors, gears, sensors, and V-shaped connecting rods. Efficacy was evaluated by examining risks based on job strain index, user satisfaction, and musculoskeletal complaints of operators before and after the system’s implementation on a Nordic musculoskeletal questionnaire. We designed three assistive devices: two semiautomatic and one automatic. Each semiautomatic device costs about 300 US dollars and required space of 10 × 18 × 38 c m 3 . The automatic device costs about 3000 US dollars and required space of 28 × 38 × 50 c m 3 . The job strain index score decreased from 36 (very high risk) to 3 (low risk) with the semiautomatic devices and to 0 with the automatic device. Musculoskeletal complaints in the neck and upper limbs were reduced, with a significantly higher satisfaction rate for female operators. Our novel design of an automatic cap opening device for a pneumatic tube system was effective in improving ergonomics and reducing musculoskeletal complaints.

Abstract:
Introduction Smartphone-compatible blood pressure devices may be a good alternative to enable self-measurement of blood pressure by patients. Furthermore, automatic transferral of data to the hospital allows for remote monitoring. To our knowledge, no study has compared four of these smartphone-compatible blood pressure devices. Methods Patients who were followed up for acute myocardial infarction were asked to participate during their outpatient clinic visit. After five minutes of rest, six blood pressure devices were applied. The order was randomised. Four devices were smartphone-compatible. One device was an automated oscillometric device. One device was a handheld aneroid sphygmomanometer (reference device). All measurements were compared using a linear mixed model. Results A total of 43 patients (62.7 ± 11.3 years, 79% male) were included. Compared to the reference device, four blood pressure monitors yielded a significant higher mean systolic blood pressure and four monitors yielded a significant higher diastolic BP. One device yielded a non-significant lower mean systolic blood pressure and one device yielded a non-significant higher mean diastolic blood pressure. Except for one blood pressure device, all mean differences were smaller than 5 mmHg. Conclusion In this study, average inter-device variability was shown to be statistically significant, however four devices remained within the predefined range of 5 mmHg for both systolic and diastolic blood pressures.

Abstract:
The automatic suspension device (REHABOT) suspends the patient's body in a standing position allowing the patient to walk around the circular handrail without forward propulsion. Reduction of body weight is accurately maintained automatically while safely supporting the patient. The device was used for 23 patients with orthopaedic disorders or central nervous system disorders who were chosen because of their initial difficulties with gait training in parallel bars. Its advantages are that (1) it may be used for patients with open wounds or cardiac problems, or patients using prostheses or orthoses, (2) preparation and walking practice are simpler both for patients and staff than the therapeutic pool and walking trolley, (3) running costs are lower than the therapeutic pool. Its drawbacks are that the initial cost is relatively high, only one patient can be trained at a time, and the effect of warm water is missing. The automatic suspension device will become one of the new and fundamental pieces of equipment for gait training, especially for hospitals where there are many elderly patients and also severely and multiple disabled persons.

Abstract:
There are several methods returning scattered books in library, such as asking visitors to put them back to the bookshelf, recruiting more employees, or creating system that can return the books automatically. But, by using the system, visitors no need to walk to certain bookshelf. The system itself called Automatic Guided Device included of Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV), RFID tag, scissor-lift, and book thruster. Every books have RFID tags which contains the book database. There are name of books and shelf location inside of the database. Visitors just need scan the book(s) and laid on the device, then the system will begin to operate. After that, this Automatic Guided Device sensor equipped will start its journey and go through to the location of bookshelf by following tracked line on the floor. To show them, it uses ASCII Table in the C Source Code Program. This table is to represent information substitutes which contains certain number, then it will be declared as the bookshelf location spot. After reaching certain distance, scissor-lift lifts as high as the table. Then scissor-lift stops, while the book thruster removing the book from device into bookshelf. So, this system not only returning the books without any manual operation but also can do more things such as lifting and putting the books automatically at once. Based on several tests, AGD reaches at certain spot within an average 60% of successfulness by using ASCII Table numbering format.
