Abstract:
Plastic welding method is a widely used technology for the welding of pressure and vacuum bags using plastic valves. Conducting this process with traditional methods creates disadvantages in terms of production speed, product quality and economical aspects. Today, assembly costs make up the majority of total production costs, manufacturers pay more attention to assembly automation and work in this direction in order to reduce costs, speed up the production process and increase efficiency. In this study, it is aimed to design and manufacture a single Automatic Valve Welding Machine that can do all of these operations and integrated automation system instead of cutting, punching and plastic welding process that can be performed with multiple machines and workers. In this context, a new automated machine was designed in 3 D, and engineering analyzes were carried out to manufacture a prototype. In design, the machine has been made suitable for developing technology by using PLC (Programming Logic Controller) and pneumatic system. In addition, static analyzes of the machine were made. With the inclusion of a production-specific automatic controlled plastic welding machine, manufacturing can be done faster, with higher quality, lower costs and less wastage compared to the traditional manufacturing process.

The industry is at the heart of a country’s development, and robot automation is the key to this. The automation of industrial robots is extremely beneficial to industrial development. Although China has been increasing its investment in industrial robot automation and control research, there are still many problems in the field of automation and control in the application of industrial robot technology, and there is still a certain gap between the developed countries. On the one hand, this is a serious obstacle to the development of industrial robotics in China, and on the other hand, it has a direct impact on the automation of industrial production, which has a very restrictive effect on industrial development. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on the value of computer technology, automation control technology, and sensor technology in the field of automation. The use of industrial robots can replace monotonous manual labour, reduce the intensity of operations, and increase productivity through high operational precision values. Scientific progress has driven the development process of industrial automation to a new level, allowing fully automated production equipment to become mainstream and gradually replace manual operations. In recent years, the development of industrial automation has led to the development of a series of related industries, of which automated manipulators are one. As a new automatic production line operation equipment, the development of manipulators can greatly improve the automation production level of enterprises and improve labour efficiency. This paper explores the development status of automated manipulators and explore the optimal motion path of manipulators in automatic control engineering by combining simulated annealing algorithm and PID algorithm, so as to greatly enhance the application of truss manipulators in production lines.

Gas content measurement is a common technique in the prevention of coalmine gas disasters. During the measurement, the gas desorption amount of field coal samples needs to be obtained by an instrument working under the principle of gas collection by water displacement (GCWD). The instrument is poorly automated, and susceptible to the influence of subjective factors. To overcome these defects, this paper designs an automatic detector of gas desorption, aiming to realize automated detection. Firstly, the authors analyzed the gas desorption detection process, and clarified the contents and features of the information to be collected. On this basis, the hardware and software systems of the multi-data automatic detector were developed based on digital circuit design and multi-sensor detection. To further improve the measuring accuracy of gas desorption, the multi-range multi-stage mode was introduced to the automatic detector. Application results show that the proposed detector can automatedly collect and store gas desorption amount, ambient pressure, and temperature, greatly improve the degree of automation, and minimize the influence of subjective factors. The popularization of this detector will make gas desorption measurement more efficient and effective, laying a solid basis for the prevention of coalmine gas disasters.

Currently, the spring machine tool is fixed by means of manual clamping and positioning by bolts. The automation of the tool change is low, and the accurate value of the tool position cannot be determined. The automatic tool change system for spring machine was designed by using the standard functional parts of the automatic tool change system of the machining center. It mainly includes the design of the automatic loose clamp device and that of the multispindle automatic tool change arm. After static analysis, the deformation of the automatic tool change arm is 0.153 mm, which satisfies the requirements for usage. Kinematic analysis of the designed automatic tool change arm was carried out. After actual verification, the designed automatic tool change system of spring machine realizes the functions of the tools automatic replacement and positioning of the spring machine, which improves the automation of the spring forming equipment.

Transplanting of plug seedling is one of the most important operations during vegetable and flower production. Due to the higher labor intensity and lower efficiency for the operation, it is difficult to enlarge production scale for vegetables and flowers. Although transplanting of plug seedling is now common method, all operations are still manually conducted in China. To enlarge productivity for increasing food supply, it has become an urgent task to achieve automation of plug seedling transplanting for Chinese horticulture industry. This paper deals with the automatic transplanter for plug seedling, which is significant to promote development of production automation of seedling nursing and transplanting in China. Then, the simple, practical automatic transplanter for plug seedling, including manipulator, conveyor system for plug tray and flowerpots, overall structure and PLC control system was designed. Finally, Prototype was manufactured and performance tests were conducted. Results showed that the automatic transplanter had reliable transplanting performance.

The UML activity diagram, as a frequently used business process modeling notation, is used as the starting point for the automated generation of the UML class diagram representing the conceptual database model. Formal rules for automated generation cover the automatic extraction of business objects and business process participants, as well as the automatic generation of corresponding classes and their associations. Based on these rules we have implemented an automatic generator and evaluated it on a real business model.

Abstract Industrial automation has become an area in full development and of great importance for all industrial sectors since it allows to improve the productivity of companies and the quality of their products. Currently, factories (i.e., small, or medium) must implement new technologies to increase its production and provide qualified products to enter with force in regional markets and nationals. This article shows the design and start up of an automatic palletizer which will have a manual mode in which each actuator in the system can be operated independently; and an automatic mode that will organize the input elements in the previously established way. For companies that produce in batches, is important to reduce storage spaces in warehouses, dispose of their products in an orderly and practical way for their subsequent dispatch. This last process must be effective and fast so as not to generate inconveniences in the delivery of orders to buyers. Our project is focused to the footwear sector, especially, how to seek greater development and performance of these companies where the packaging time of their products can be optimized so that it can be used in other tasks within the company. Also, the result of this investigation shows the engineering process carried out to obtain a prototype of a functional, automatic, productive, quality, and economic product that meets the customer’s requirements. Improvements that will do and future work are included too.

We formulate an optimization problem of Hamiltonian design based on the variational principle. Given a variational ansatz for a Hamiltonian we construct a loss function to be minimised as a weighted sum of relevant Hamiltonian properties specifying thereby the search query. Using fractional quantum Hall effect as a test system we illustrate how the framework can be used to determine a generating Hamiltonian of a finite-size model wavefunction (Moore-Read Pfaffian and Read-Rezayi states), find optimal conditions for an experiment or "extrapolate" given wavefunctions in a certain universality class from smaller to larger system sizes. We also discuss how the search for approximate generating Hamiltonians may be used to find simpler and more realistic models implementing the given exotic phase of matter by experimentally accessible interaction terms.

The objective of the research described here is to develop and demonstrate use of automatic design methods for preswirl nozzles. Performance of preswirled cooling air delivery systems depends critically on the design of these nozzles which is subject to manufacturing and stress constraints. The best solution may be a compromise between cost and performance. Here it is shown that automatic optimization using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to evaluate nozzle performance can be useful in design. A parametric geometric model of a nozzle with appropriate constraints is first defined and the CFD meshing and solution are then automated. The mesh generation is found to be the most delicate task in the whole process. Direct hill climbing (DHC) and response surface model (RSM) optimization methods have been evaluated. For the test case considered, significant nozzle performance improvements were obtained using both methods, but the RSM model was preferred.

For improving assembly quality and automation of electric connectors, a solution of automatic assembly is discussed in this paper. With the machinery vision system, defects of the parts to be assembled can be real-time surveyed. By using the complex image recognition technology, the recognizing accuracy and reliability can be achieved. The designs of NC dividing head and smart positioning unit can make the process of transmission and assembly more perfect and effective. The optimal design of the mechanical structure has been made by virtual prototype technology. The designs of PLC control system and pneumatic system which are used in the automatic assembly machine have also been discussed. The control strategies of assembling process are quite challenges. The control profile of three stages has been used in the pressing assembly process, which can punch the parts assembled properly and smoothly without any surface damage. Also the application shows that the design is effective.

Purpose The paper aims to leverage the importance of the integrated automatic structural design for tall buildings at the early stage. It proposes to use an automatic prototype to perform the structural design, analysis and optimisation in a building information modelling (BIM)-based platform. This process starts with extracting the required information from the architectural model in Revit Autodesk, such as boundary conditions and designs different options of the structural models in Robot Autodesk. In this process, Dynamo for Revit is used to define the mathematical functions to use different variables and generate various structural models. The paper aims to expand the domain of automation in the BIM platform to reduce the iterative process in different areas such as conceptual structural design and collaboration between architects and structural engineers to reduce the time and cost at the early stages. Design/methodology/approach The paper begins with an exploratory research by adopting a qualitative methodology and using open-ended questions to achieve more information about the phenomenon of automation and interoperability between structural engineers and architects and gain new insight into this area. Furthermore, correlation research is used by adopting quantitative and short questions to compare the proposed prototype with the traditional process of the structural design and optimisation and the interoperability between architects and engineers and consequently, validate the research. Findings As an outcome of the research, a structural design optimisation (SDO) prototype was developed to semi-automate the structural design process of tall buildings at the early stages. Moreover, the proposed prototype can be used during the early stage of structural design in different areas such as residential buildings, bridges, truss, reinforced concrete detailing, etc. Moreover, comprehensive literature regarding using automation in structural design, optimisation process and interoperability between architects and engineers is conducted that provides a new insight to contribute to future research and development. Research limitations/implications Due to the time limit, the paper results may lack in a comprehensive automatic structural design process. Therefore, the researchers are encouraged to expand the workability of the prototype for a comprehensive automatic design check such as automatic design for the minimum deflection, displacement of different types of buildings. Practical implications The prototype includes implications for the development of different automatic designs. Originality/value The focus of this paper is the optimisation of the structural design in the BIM platform by using automation. This combination is one of the novelties of this paper, and the existing literature has a very limited amount of information and similar work in this area, especially interoperability between architects and engineers.

To the subsurface safety valve testing, an intelligent automatic test system is designed based on the control computer and programmable logic controller. Based on modular concept, the entire system is mainly composed of mechanical components and computer control system. The working principle is analyzed for the subsurface safety valve test. The control system based on the Labview and PLC can accomplish hydraulic and gas testing with functions of the testing process control, data collection and analysis, automatic generating test report, friendly interface and high degree automation. Experiments prove that the test system can achieve expected effect and satisfy the test requirement, and the procedure is simple and convenient. The system has great significance to improve the subsurface safety valve test accuracy, efficiency and automation level.

However, there is a strong need for a mobile robot that can move to paint residential interior walls. In this study, we aim to design and implement an automatic painting mobile robot. The conceptual design of the proposed wall painting robot consisting paint mechanism with a spray gun and ultrasonic sensor. The spray gun is attached to a pulley mechanism that has linear motion. The ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the spray gun when it reached a certain limit. The DC motor rotates clockwise and counterclockwise based on the ultrasonic sensor condition made. The experimental results indicate that the robot was able to paint the walls smoothly vertically, and horizontally. The spraying gun structure's speed is at a tolerable speed of 0.07 m/s, which could be increased, but to provide high-quality painting without any gaps, the current speed was selected as the most suitable, without any harm to the working process.

This paper proposes a design scheme of Six-station Automatic Hydraulic Stretching Machine (SAHSM) according to the practical production. The overall 3D structure of SAHSM is designed based on Solidworks to prove the theoretical possibility of the program. Then modal analysis is operated based on FEA of the key components of stretching machine module to improve reliability of the product and overcome the disadvantage of the traditional checking method, the first two-order modes are obtained to prove the impossibility of the resonance. At last, ADAMS-based virtual prototype is analyzed to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the SAHSM dynamic design proposed in this paper

Java short message service (SMS) application programming interface (API) and Bluetooth technology is used for sending schedules through SMS. Radio frequency identification (RFID) systems use many different frequencies, but the most common and widely used and supported by our reader is 125 kHz. Machine tool bed consists of supporting chassis and cast iron sidewall, which has little deformation, good rigidity and high mechanical strength. And the operating floor features 3-Degree of Freedom with high precision. Guideway adopts imported linear guideway, featuring high precision, high load - bearing redundancy and long life. Scraping tool holder is stably installed in the hole at the end of the piston rod. By the electrical control system the cylinder can control scraping tool to do reciprocal motion stably. Scraping points on the surface of workpieces are captured by a CCD camera with high detection efficiency and accurate test data. The results show that the system is designed to greatly reduce labor intensity and improve scraping efficiency under the precondition of keeping good scraping quality.
