Abstract:
Syftet med denna uppsats är att modellera och prognostisera Sveriges varuexport, varuimport och handelsnetto. Vi använder oss av data från januari 1975 till och med augusti 2010 för respektive serie. Dessa data testas och jämförs i olika ARIMA- och SARIMA-modeller samt skattas även medelst säsongsreningsprogrammet TRAMO/SEATS. För de modeller som bäst passar serierna genomförs därefter in sample- och out of sample-analyser med felmåtten RMSE och MAPE. Modellerna med bäst felmått och som därpå väljs ut för att göra prognoser för serierna till och med augusti 2012 är (3,1,0)x(0,1,1) för export, (2,1,1)x(0,1,1) för import samt (0,1,1)x(0,1,1) skattad i TRAMO/SEATS för handelsnetto.

Sammanfattning

Den senaste tidens förändringar då det gäller klimatet är en väl debatterad fråga i dagens samhälle. Att vi går mot varmare tider här på jorden är konstaterat, liksom de konsekvenser som uppvisats av ett redan varmare klimat. Eftersom det blir varmare här på jorden förändras också vädersystemen. Frågan är om en ökad temperatur påverkar både frekvensen och omfattningen av naturkatastrofer. Frågan om dagens klimatförändring skulle kunna leda till en större frekvens av naturkatastrofer är viktig att forska vidare i.

Den 4-5 augusti 2004 drabbade ett kraftigt regn- och åskoväder Hagfors kommun i nordöstra Värmland. Konsekvenserna av ovädret var stora, då vägen runt Rådasjön helt skars av på ett flertal ställen. Uppsatsen är kopplad till detta regnoväder samt den pågående klimatförändringen. Frågan om ovädret och dess konsekvenser berodde på ett varmare klimat är här aktuell. Vidare tar uppsatsen tar upp orsaker till detta oväder, samt vilka konsekvenser det fick.

Området där studien utfördes är extremt känslig för vattenerosion. Den senaste istiden har påverkat området och det består därför till största delen av morän. I och med det här är Rådasjön belägen i en sprickdal vilket gör den mycket djup, med branta sidor. Under ovädret 2004 strävade mycket material nedför de branta sidorna mot sjön. Det här påverkade inte bara vägarna, utan också människorna som bodde där under händelsen.


Abstract

Global changes in the climate during the last decade is frequently debated in today`s society. It is established that the climate is getting warmer. The consequences are already noticeable because of the warmer temperature. Since the earth temperature is increasing the weather systems around the world changes. The question is if the increasing temperature has something to do with both frequency and the extent of natural disasters. This question is very important and therefore research must continue to find new and improved facts.

The 4-5 of August in 2004 an area in Hagfors municipality was strike by a serious rain and thunder storm. The following consequences were severe and the road around Rådasjön was totally destroyed in several places. This study is connected to the storm in Hagfors and the current climate changes. The present question is if the storm and its consequences are caused by a warmer climate. Following this study also discusses causes of this storm and its consequences.

The area where this study was performed is tremendously sensitive to water erosion. The latest ice age has affected this area and therefore consists of material from till. Above this Rådasjön is situated in a broken valley that makes the lake very deep and steep sided. During the storm in 2004 there were at lot of material that strived down the steep sides to the lake. This affected not only the roads, but also the people who lived there during the time.

Abstract:
The purpose of this essay is to examine how peace journalism was expressed in Swedish newspapers´ reporting on the war in Georgia 2008. We did this by analyzing whether the reporting was elite- or people-orientated depending on how suffering was expressed and how the war players were described. The method we used was Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). It was applied on news articles from four Swedish newspapers that covered three different happenings in the war in Georgia. We found out that the reporting was mainly elite-orientated, both when it comes to how suffering was expressed, as well as how the war players were described. The newspapers tended to focus on only one party’s suffering and one party as evil-doer, which is elite-orientated reporting and also an indication of war journalism rather than peace journalism.

On étudie dans un premier temps le développement du cérémonial de l'aduentus a Rome depuis les origines jusqu'à la fin de l'Empire. On insiste particulièrement sur l'organisation du cérémonial a l'époque impériale, sous une forme civile et sous une forme militaire. La dynastie des sévères voit l'emporter ce dernier aspect d'où un rapprochement entre l'aduentus et le triomphe. Quand la conversion de l'Empire au christianisme élimine la célébration officielle du trilmphe, c'est une sorte d'aduentus trilmphal qui le remplace. Dans la bible, l'aduentus apparait aussi, sous des formes spécifiques. Dans la littérature païenne des IIIe et IVe siècles, l'aduentus est devenu matière a description ; on peut en établir une thématique, et constater son application dans différents genres littéraires. Cette thématique s'étend à l'accueil de l'âme aux enfers et a l'apothéose. La conversion de l'Empire au christianisme entraîne une christianisation de l'aduentus. Difficile à cerner dans le cas de l'aduentusaugusti, elle est manifeste dans la réception des dignitaires de l'église, des saints hommes, des hôtes dans les monastères, des reliques. Appliquée au Christ, la notion d'aduentus prend une toute autre ampleur. Dans la littérature patristique, on constate l'influence de l'aduentus augusti sur les représentations de l'aduentus christi, mais on sent toujours le souci de bien les distinguer, voire de les opposer. The author first deals with the development of the ceremony of aduentus in Rom from the ancient times to the end of the Empire. He lays stress on the organisation of the ceremony in imprial times, when it assumes a civil and military form. This latter form prevails during the severian dynasty, and the aduentus looks like a triumph. When the conversion of the roman state to christianity makes an end to the traditional celebration of the triumph, a triumphal aduentus becomes a substitute for ti. In the bible also, there are particular forms of aduentus. In pagan latinity of the iiid and ivth centuries, the aduentus has become a descriptive matter. It is possible to make up a "thematic" of it and to find an applying ofit in various forms of literature. This "thematic" is used also in descriptions of the descent to hell and the apotheosis. With the conversion of the roman world to christianity, there is a "christianisation" of yhe aduentus. Difficult to detect in the aduentus augusti, it is clearly noticeable in the welcome of ecclesiastical dignitaries, of holy men, of relics. When it concerns christ himself, the aduentus becomes much more significant. The aduentus christi is sometimes pictured as an aduentus augusti, but the author is always worry about expressing the disparity between them. About such comparisons can be noticed a kind of reticence which lessens with the more and more effective

Pour Cicéron, Rome se bâtit selon un modèle, consilium, fondé historiquement. De fait, l'accroissement de Rome procède d'une intégration des cités voisines, de leurs biens, res, et de leur population. Inversement la Grèce semble viser la démocratie, l'autonomie, la paix, la justice, excluant l'usage de la force. Des les Res Gestae Divi Augusti, la pax est l'unité d'un imperium après la victoire d'Octave sur les anti-césariens et la redistribution des richesses du butin à la plèbe, ce qui, pour lui, est la iustitia. Octave, renouant avec la politique romuléenne, est alors appelé Augustus, celui qui "accroît", de par son autorictas, droit d'étendre la ville. Abstract:
Debate over global declines of amphibian populations has focused researchers' attention on the lack of basic life-history information about and appropriate monitoring methods for amphibian species. We studied barking frogs ( Eleutherodactylus augusti) in a canyon in the Huachuca Mountains of southern Arizona. Annual (capture) surveys and radio-tracking revealed that most barking frogs in this canyon are strongly associated with limestone. Adults rarely moved between limestone outcrops and numbers of frogs on each outcrop were small. Subpopulations consisting of frogs on sets of neighboring outcrops probably function as a metapopulation. We evaluated four methods for monitoring population size of this species: mark-recapture, distance sampling, visual encounter surveys, and call counts. We found none of these to be able to detect changes in population size powerfully enough to alert managers to declines as they occur. We suggest resource managers focus monitoring efforts on distribution rather than population size.

Uppsatsen är en innehållsanalytisk studie av kvällstidningarna Expressen och Aftonbladet under augusti- september 2009. Syftet är att undersöka hur s.k. ”invandrartäta områden”/förorter framställs i kvällstidningarna under nämnda period samt att ge exempel på hur detta kan analyseras ur ett sociologiskt perspektiv. Urvalet av artiklar tillåter sig avgränsas genom att se till vad som skrivs om de förortsområden som under aktuell period tillåtit sig förknippas med ”problem”. Frågeställningarna vill således belysa vad som under aktuell period skrivs om dessa områden: hur kan dessa kan budskap tolkas, och hur kan de tolkas med sociologiska teorier? ”Invandrartäta områden” har länge varit föremål för negativ stereotypisering bl.a. i media. Varför uppsatsen använder sig av teorier som kan förklara hur mediediskursen kan vara möjlig, och i vilket Elias teori om figurationer bildar en yttre ram. Analysen av resultatet uppvisar att flertalet artiklar ger utrymme åt reproduktion av ”moralisk differentiering” och ”illusorisk korrelation”, och med detta en förstärkning av ”common sense” uppfattningar hos läsaren. En uppfattning där förorten och dess invånare alltjämt tillskrivs rollen som de ”Andra”. Emellertid är inte endast sådana artiklar häri förekomna. En rimlig hypotes är dock att; hur artiklarna påverkar läsaren är avhängigt dennes befintliga attityd, samt hur artiklarna är utformade, och där det ges mer eller mindre utrymme för attitydförändringar.

I augusti 1914 invaderade Tyskland sitt västra grannland Belgien, som förklarat sig neutralt i konflikten mellan centralmakterna och de allierade. Belgarnas försvar byggde på den uttalade politiska viljan att vara neutral och var därför inte kraftsamlat i någon riktning. Tysklands anfall inleddes med en attack på de stora fasta försvarsanläggningarna vid Liège. Försvaret var knutet till de fasta försvarsanläggningarna uppförda 40 år tidigare. Trots relativt små medel och dåliga förberedelser lyckades försvararna göra väl ifrån sig. Nyttjandet av fasta försvarsanläggningar är gammalt men det finns fortfarande mycket lärdom att dra. Den här uppsatsen är en teoribildande fallstudie baserad på kvalitativ litteraturstudie. Därför beskrivs slaget i förhållande till fördelar och nackdelar med nyttjandet av fasta försvarsanläggningar. Jag presenterar också ett försök att dra rimliga slutsatser ur det som inträffat som mynnar ut i en teori. Den viktigaste slutsatsen kan sammanfattas med att fasta försvarsanläggningar kommer bäst till sin rätt när de nyttjas av förband vars uppgift gör dem oberoende av hög rörlighet men ställer krav på hög verkan med kvantitativt liten trupp. De gör sig sämst då involverade med stora fältförband med uppgifter som ställer krav på mobilitet och knappa tidsförhållanden
Germany invaded its western neighbour Belgium in august 1914. Belgium had declared herself neutral in the conflict between the central powers and the allied but was still invaded. The Belgian defence revolved largely around the political will to remain neutral and was therefore ill prepared in either direction. Germany’s first attack struck at the great fortresses outside Liège. The defence of this town was tied to the local forts, which had been erected some 40 years before. The outnumbered defenders with poorly executed preparations were able to perform well against the German might. The use of forts is an old practice in war but there are still lessons to be learned from its utilisation. This study is a theory constructive case study based on a quality text study. Therefore, the battle with its pros and cons of the use of forts are presented in an attempt to derive reasonable conclusions towards the use of fixed fortifications These facts led me to form a foundation of a theory on the usefulness of fixed fortifications.

Abstract:
Intensification of agriculture and forestry during the last century has led to loss of grasslands and meadows, both important habitats for butterflies. Several studies show that different biotopes in the swedish forest also can be suitable habitats for butterflies, and that is what I am focusing on in my study. This study was conducted in the area of Bergslagen, Sweden. The area is dominated by production forests, mainly consisting of pine and spruce, along with clear cuts, peatland, lakes and agricultural areas. The aim of the study was to investigate if and in which way species, species diversity and number of individuals of butterflies are affected by fragmentation in the surrounding landscape. I was focusing on habitat area and number of patches. Landscape composition in an area of 1500 m in radius around each of the 12 transects were studied. Nine species in total was found. Gonepteryx rhamni increased in number of individuals with increasing area of peatland and higher number of peatland patches, they also increased in individuals with higher number of water patches. Pieris napi decreased in individuals with increasing area of water. Plebejus idas and Plebejus argus decreased in number of individuals with higher number of forest patches, clear cut patches and patches of open land, they also decreased in individuals with increasing number of patches in total. Species diversity also decreased with increasing number of forest patches. Responses to fragmentation seem to be very species specific, some species responded positively to habitat area and number of patches while some responded negatively and some did not respond at all. My results show that some butterfly species in Bergslagen are affected by fragmentation and it is important to take on a landscape approach in conservation of butterflies.

Det är nu 55 år sedan byggnationen av Berlinmuren påbörjades. I en värld där miljoner människor är på flykt från krig, orättvisor och elände är händelserna kring då Berlin delades upp av en mur högaktuella. Den 13 juli 2015 skrev Dagens Nyheter om den rådande flyktingströmmen till Europa från Syrien och kringliggande länder. Rubriken löd då: ”Ungern har påbörjat stängsel för att hindra immigranter”. Berlinmuren byggdes för att försöka få bukt på en okontrollerad massflykt från öst till väst. En sådan massflykt upplever vi även idag. Hur beskrevs 1961 beslutet i media om att uppföra en mur som skulle hindra människor från att ta sig till friheten och vilken information fick egentligen samtidens människor när de läste dagstidningen till morgonkaffet?

I och med internet har ett nytt medielandskap vuxit fram där mängden information är enorm. Etablerade medier har fått konkurrens från nya, alternativa medier och gränsen mellan åsikter, fakta och rena osanningar är svår att upptäcka. Med utgångspunkt från detta har vi i denna uppsats valt att undersöka Aftonbladet, Dagens Nyheter och Fria Tiders rapportering om två händelser i samband med demonstrationen kring ensamkommande afghaners rätt att stanna i Sverige; tumultet på Mynttorget 8 augusti respektive motdemonstrationen “Stå upp för Sverige” på Medborgarplatsen 19 augusti. Vi har sedan analyserat vilka rapporteringar som fått spridning på Facebook och hur dessa artiklar där har kommenterats. Ambitionen med en sådan analys har varit att undersöka vilka mediebilder som får störst spridning i sociala medier och hur diskussionerna kring olika nyhetsrapporteringar och medier ser ut. Vår studie visar att det är skillnad på de verklighetsbilder som etablerad och alternativ media visar upp. De två etablerade medierna påvisar likartade verklighetsbilder, medan det alternativa mediets skildring är annorlunda. Det alternativa mediet väljer ett annat huvudtema, där vilka som är goda och vilka som är onda helt enkelt byter plats. Uppsatsens analys av spridningsmönster visar att den åsiktsdrivna journalistiken får störst spridning, inte minst på invandringskritiska Facebook-grupper och sidor. I dessa sammanhang är den politiska selektiviteten ofta omvänd; man länkar till etablerad media i en form av confirmation bias för hur “fel” etablerade medier rapporterar om dessa frågor. Uppsatsen visar även på att frågan om huruvida filterbubblan existerar i större utsträckning borde ta hänsyn till hur individen tolkar den information som den exponeras för, och inte vilken information den exponeras för. Vidare visar även vår studie på ett upptrissat och aggressivt debattklimat där nätforum i vilka personer med olika åsikter kan mötas i en djupare diskussion lyser med sin frånvaro.

Abstract:
This thesis examines the ways in which the Magna Mater became an integral part of Augustan ideology and the visual language of the early principate. Traditionally, our picture of the Augustan Magna Mater has been shaped by evidence from literary sources. Here, however, the monuments of the goddess' cult are considered in their religio-political context. Works that link Augustus himself to the Magna Mater are shown to reveal that the goddess played a significant and hitherto unappreciated role in official propaganda. Part I examines the nature of the Augustan reconstruction of the Palatine Temple of the Magna Mater and challenges persistent claims that the princeps was disinterested in the metroac cult. Augustus' use of inexpensive building materials is shown to be, not a display of parsimony, but an attempt to retain the traditional appearance of a venerable structure. A reinterpretation of the temple's pedimental and acroterial sculpture, using the Valle-Medici reliefs, demonstrates that Augustus promoted the Magna Mater as an allegory of Rome's Trojan heritage and as a symbol of a new Golden Age. Part II investigates the topography of the Augustan precinct on the Palatine, and argues that the geographic linkage of the metroön and the House of Augustus became a topos in imperial imagery. It then demonstrates that several well-known works of art echo this connection between the princeps and the goddess. Abstract:
Augustan propaganda surrounding Apollo provided the perfect literary device through which Augustan poets could express their sentiments about the new regime. Augustus transformed Apollo from a relatively insignificant god in the Roman pantheon to his own multi-faceted god whose various attributes were meant to legitimize his new position within the Roman Empire. In this thesis I discuss how Ovid uses Augustus’ political affiliation with Apollo to comment on Augustan marriage legislation in two of his texts. In Ovid’s manual on seduction, the Ars Amatoria, he denies poetic inspiration from Apollo at the beginning of his work, preferring instead to draw from his own experiences. However, Ovid seemingly contradicts himself by having Apollo appear later on to offer him advice. In his Metamorphoses, Ovid ridicules Apollo’s failed pursuit of Daphne. However, Apollo is seemingly victorious after all, since he uses Daphne’s laurel as his perpetual victory symbol. In both these instances, Ovid veils his political commentary by initially ridiculing Apollo in matters of love, only to seemingly glorify him shortly after. By excluding Apollo from matters of love, Ovid indirectly is disapproving of Augustus’ involvement in social affairs in Rome. Ovid proves to be a master of language yet again as he plays with the literary tradition and political implication of Apollo in these two texts to convey his discontent regarding Augustan marriage legislation.

Marco Manílio, writer of the first century of our era, structure, from his work Astronômicas, the universe. Your manual, that showing concepts and themes that we currently divide between astrology and astronomy, bring us an organizacional comprehension of the heavenly bodies, beyond an explanation about the relationship between them. This relations not only cover the portion that we understand as Heaven, but also influence in the elaboration and action of the earthly life, or, in other words, stars and humans are interconnected by an infinite relation web. In that case, we understand this work from some key points: 1- the structure of Manílio’s work, his public and the knowledge gained; 2- the comprehension about stoic philosophy (or, an approximation of what it was), in seeking to understand the choice of your utilization and, 3- the understanding of the Manílio’s time, the Empire of Otávio Augusto. This division was made in order to make this dissertation intelligible for those who have the intention of studying this period – already too much discussed – from a new look. Seu manual, que aborda conceitos e temas que atualmente dividimos entre astrologia e astronomia, nos traz uma compreensão organizacional dos corpos celestes, além de uma explanação acerca das relações existentes entre eles. Tais relações não abrangem somente a porção que compreendemos como Céu, mas também influenciam na elaboração e ação da vida terrena, ou seja, astros e homens estão interligados por uma teia de relações infinitas. Sendo assim, visamos entender a obra maniliana a partir de alguns pontos-chave: 1- a estrutura da obra, seu público e o conhecimento apreendido; 2- a compreensão da filosofia estóica (ou uma tentativa de aproximação do que isto seria), na busca de entendermos o porquê de sua utilização e; 3- o entendimento do período no qual Manílio estava inserido, o Principado de Otávio Augusto. Esta divisão foi feita a fim de tornar o trabalho inteligível àqueles que possuem a intenção de estudar um período – já tão discutido – a partir de um novo olhar. In this dissertation we propose to present an analysis of the work of the Roman poet Horace (65-8 BC), in order to analyze the representations of the Roman Emperor Augustus and his domus in his book IV of the Odes and the Carmen Saeculare poem. Our hypothesis is that Horatio approximates the Emperor through the relationships of patronage, by the friendship of patrons and, thereby, the speech that the poet constructs about the Prince reflects the obligations of a client to their patron. In this sense, we have divided our dissertation in three chapters: in the first, we will present the life of Horace, the political dimension of his work and the importance of the rhetoric and the memory for the construction of his laudatory speech; in the second, we will show the rise of Augustus in the Roman political life and the gradual process of building his authority over the years, the amicitia and patronage relationships established with Maecenas and Augustus; in addition, the importance of recitatio and books for dissemination and circulation of his works among the readers and listeners; in our third chapter will present, in fact, the images of the Emperor Augustus in the poems of Horace, by analyzing the importance of the construction of the speech on its domus Augusta, the idea of rescue of the virtues of ancestors and, finally, the promise of a lasting peace and prosperity. For this purpose, we use the concepts of speech, memory, representation and power in the construction of the text. Thus, we will make a reading of the poems of Horace as a speech that maintains a close relationship with his political and social context, because he writes his verses on the idea that his work would be a monument that would bequeath to the future generations the memories of the Emperor and its deeds for Rome and the Romans.
Nessa dissertação, nos propomos a apresentar uma análise da obra do poeta romano Horácio (65-8 a.C.), de modo a analisar as representações do Imperador romano Augusto e sua domus em seu livro IV das Odes e no poema Carmen Saeculare. Nossa hipótese é a de que Horácio se aproxima do Imperador por meio das relações de patronato, por intermédio da amizade de Mecenas e, desse modo, o discurso que o poeta constrói sobre o Príncipe reflete as obrigações de um cliente para com seu patrono. Nesse sentido, dividimos nossa dissertação em três capítulos: no primeiro, apresentaremos a vida de Horácio, a dimensão política de sua obra e a importância da retórica e da memória para a construção de seu discurso laudatório; no segundo, mostraremos a ascensão de Augusto na política romana e o processo paulatino de construção de sua autoridade ao longo dos anos, as relações de amicitia e de patronato estabelecidas com Mecenas e Augusto; além disso, a importância da recitatio e dos livros para divulgação e circulação de suas obras entre o público leitor ouvinte; em nosso terceiro capítulo apresentaremos, de fato, as imagens do Imperador Augusto nos poemas horacianos, ao analisar a importância da construção do discurso sobre sua domus Augusta, a ideia de resgate das virtudes dos antepassados e, por fim, a promessa de uma paz e prosperidade duradoura. Para tanto, usamos os conceitos de discurso, memória, representação e poder na construção do texto. Assim, faremos uma leitura dos poemas de Horácio como um discurso que mantém uma relação íntima com seu contexto político e social, haja vista que o mesmo escreve seus versos apoiando-se na ideia de que sua obra seria um monumento, o qual legaria às gerações posteriores as memórias do Imperador e de seus feitos para Roma e os romanos.

Notre thèse est une monographie consacrée aux Soliloques d’Augustin, le quatrième de ses dialogues philosophiques écrit en 386-387, immédiatement après sa conversion au christianisme. Elle comporte deux volets. La première partie, doctrinale, propose une nouvelle interprétation du dialogue en voyant dans l’opuscule le lieu de l’interrogation de l’expérience de la conversion. Elle montre que les deux livres, sur la base du spiritualisme néoplatonicien qui vient nourrir en profondeur l’entreprise, se présentent comme deux anagogies qu’on examine donc successivement. Cette perspective permet ainsi de mettre à jour les sources philosophiques du jeune Augustin, et surtout comment, dès 386, apparaissent presque définitivement structurées plusieurs intuitions majeures de sa pensée. La deuxième partie de ce travail est consacrée à l’étude de la tradition manuscrite de ce dialogue de jeunesse, dont on propose une édition révisée et une nouvelle traduction, assorties d’un ensemble de vingt-et-une notes complémentaires
Augustine’s Soliloquies, a philosophical dialogue, were written in 386-387, straight after the author’s conversion to Christianity. The aim of this dialogue is to reach a firm knowledge of what soul and God are. The first, interpretative part of this doctoral work shows that, beyond the neo-platonician spirituality that deeply fills Augustine’s writings, this dialogue constitutes the inaugural meditation on the experience of conversion. Thus, such a perspective allows considering this dialogue as the first step of a continuous thought that will eventually lead to the Confessions ; it also allows analysing Augustine’s intellectual horizon in a newly oriented way that brings into light his philosophical sources ; lastly, it allows seeing how some intuitions, among the major ones of his thought, appeared in an almost definitively structured way as soon as 386. The second part of this doctoral work is dedicated to the study of manuscripts tradition of this early year dialogue, of which a new translation is being proposed, with a set of twenty-one complementary notes

Héritier de la culture classique antique et ancien professeur de rhétorique, Augustin d'Hippone (354-430) est l'auteur d'une oeuvre vaste et variée où il s'illustre comme un théologien, philosophe, pasteur à la pensée originale et puissante. Il n'est pas connu cependant comme historien et n'est pas l'auteur d'ouvrages spécifiquement historiques. Pourtant, comme évêque africain et autorité intellectuelle reconnue de ses contemporains, il a été amené à s'engager dans des controverses pour lesquelles il a utilisé une argumentation historique construite avec rigueur.Les méthodes avec lesquelles Augustin rassemble et critique ses sources et interprète l'histoire sont étudiées à partir de la Cité de Dieu et des traités anti-donatistes. Elles sont analysées en fonction du contexte culturel antique, à l'aide des réflexions historiographiques contemporaines. De quelle façon Augustin répond-il aux exigences d'un travail historique lorsqu'il aborde l'histoire de Rome et de l'Église ?Les recherches ont été menées en trois étapes pour envisager tout d'abord Augustin comme historien de Rome et particulièrement de la République romaine, puis comme historien du rôle de la religion (païenne et chrétienne) à Rome, et enfin comme historien du schisme donatiste en Afrique. Steeped in ancient classical culture and a former professor of rhetoric, Augustine of Hippo (354-430) is considered as a distinguished theologian, philosopher, and pastor, with original andpowerful thoughts. He is not known as a historian, and is not the author of historical works.However, as a bishop and an intellectual authority recognized by his contemporaries, he wasconducted to conduct controversies during which he used a rigorously built historicalargumentation.The way Augustine collects and criticizes his sources, and interprets history, are studied based onCity of God and anti-Donatist writings. These are analyzed taking account to ancient culturalcontext, and using contemporary historiographical approach. Does Augustin reach the historicalwork standard when he addresses the history of Rome and the Church ?The research was conducted in three stages ; first considering Augustine as an historian of Romeand especially of the Roman Republic, then as an historian of the role of pagan and Christianreligion in Rome, and finally as an historian of the Donatist schism in Africa. Neste momento, propomo-nos a analisar as imagens discursivas sobre Augusto nas Biografias e Histórias do Principado Romano, séculos I a.C. a III d.C. Para isto, selecionamos a obra de Veléio Patérculo, História Romana (séculos I a.C. – I d.C.), as biografias de Plutarco de Queronéia, César e Antônio (séculos I e II d.C.), as biografias de Caio Suetônio Tranquilo, O Divino Júlio e o Divino Augusto (séculos I e II d.C.), os escritos de Lúcio Anneu Floro, Epítome de Tito Lívio (séculos I e II d.C.), e, por fim, a obra de Dion Cássio, História Romana(século II e III d.C.). Através desse corpus documental, torna-se possível uma comparação entre as imagens discursivas sobre esse imperador Júlio-Claudiano, imagens estas que foram elaboradas em contextos diferentes, através de abordagens distintas e, em nossa concepção, partindo de múltiplas motivações destes autores. Ainda, faz-se possível compreender como as figuras de Júlio César e Marco Antônio são utilizadas nessas criações sobre Augusto, sendo que o primeiro passa a representar o modelo a ser seguindo; enquanto o segundo, a sua antítese. Nesta análise, partimos do pressuposto que os elementos da sociedade do Principado Romano não são homogêneos e que as diferenças entre os relatos, assim como as similaridades, também nos levam à legitimação da estrutura política do Principado Romano.
In this new academic trajectory, we propose to analyze the discursive images of Augustus in Biographies and Histories of the Roman Principality , between centuries I BC to III AD. For this, we selected the work of Velleius Paterculus, Roman History (centuries I BC to I AD), the Plutarch biographies, Caesar and Antony (first and second centuries AD), the Suetonius biographies, The Divine Julius and The Divine Augustus (first and second centuries AD), the writings of Lucius Florus, Epitome of Titus Livy (first and second centuries AD), and finally, the Dion Cassius work, Roman History (II and III century AD). Through his documentary corpus, it becomes possible to compare the discursive images of Julio-Claudian Emperor, which images have been developed in different contexts, through different approaches and, in our view, from multiple motivations of these authors. Still, it is possible to understand how the figures of Julius Caesar and Mark Antony are used in these creations of Augustus, the first of which happens to represent the model to be followed, while the second, its antithesis. In this analysis, we assume that the elements of Roman society in the Principality are not homogeneous and that the differences between the accounts, as well as the similarities, also lead us to the legitimacy of the political structure of the Roman Principality.

Ma thèse interroge la diversité des significations de la mémoire dans l’œuvre de saint Augustin. Le terme latin "memoria" s’y rencontre avec une richesse et une diversité sémantiques qui débordent son sens le plus usuel, la mémoire comme faculté psychologique de rétention des souvenirs. Cette polysémie inclut bien sûr ce sens psychologique, mais elle enveloppe aussi un sens cultuel pouvant signifier « relique » ou « tombeau ». Dans ce statut, la "memoria" – un objet physique investi d’une valeur religieuse et d’une fonction cultuelle – semble très éloignée de la mémoire comme fonction psychique. Enfin, cette polysémie peut encore être enrichie d’un sens liturgique en lien avec le sens cultuel : la "memoria" désigne alors l’évocation du souvenir du saint. À cette diversité sémantique répond un certain cloisonnement disciplinaire dans les études augustiniennes. Les aspects de la mémoire qui intéressent les historiens de la philosophie sont ceux où elle est traitée d’un point de vue psychologique et métaphysique. Par ailleurs, les aspects collectifs et sociaux de la mémoire sont principalement étudiés par les historiens. My thesis examines the diversity of meanings of memory in the work of St Augustine. The latin term "memoria" is encountered with a semantic richness and diversity that goes beyond its most usual meaning : memory as the psychological faculty of retaining memories. This polysemy includes this psychological meaning, of course, but it also includes a cultic meaning that can mean ‘relic’ or ‘tomb’. In this status, the "memoria"- a physical object invested with a religious value and a cultic function – seems very far from memory as a psychic function. Finally, this polysemy can be further enriched by a liturgical meaning linked to the cultic meaning : "memoria" then designates the evocation of the memory of the saint. This semantic diversity is matched by a certain disciplinary compartmentalisation in Augustinian studies. The aspects that interest philosophers and historians of philosophy are those where memory is treated from a psychological and metaphysical point of view. On the other hand, the collective and social aspects of memory are mostly studied by historians. The bibliography shows that memory and history are treated disjointedly by commentators. The scholarly studies devoted to Augustine’s works most often focus either on memory as a faculty or activity of the individual soul (with particular emphasis on "The Confessions" or "The Trinity"); or on memory as the constitution of a collective identity through history (with a focus on "The City of God", "The sermons"," The Commentaries on the Psalms" or "The Homilies on the Gospel of John")

On retrouve ce double niveau culturel et linguistique dans l'œuvre d’A. Roa Bastos. Mais l'originalité de cet auteur repose sur un travail d'écriture réalisé au niveau de la narration et de la structure des œuvres. A travers ce travail il parvient à l'élaboration d'une oralité de l'écriture. Il s'agit alors d'une oralité purement littéraire et non plus seulement traditionnelle
The problematics of writing and orality is important in Paraguay as much on the linguistic level (guarani was originally a spoken language) as on the cultural level through a certain amount of myths, beliefs and songs that are still vivelly spread nowadays. This twofold cultural and linguistic level can be traced down in a. Roa Bastos's work. But this writer's originality lies in a whole work on writing as it is to be seen in the narrative techniques and structures of his works. He thus manages to engender on orality of his writings, though his is a purely literary and not merely traditional orality

L'étude est consacrée aux officiers (des tribuns appartenant à l'ordre équestre) de quatre unités de la garnison de Rome sous le Haut-Empire : les vigiles (pompiers le jour et police urbaine la nuit), les urbaniciani (police urbaine de jour), les equites singulares Augusti (garde montée de l'empereur) et le prétoire (garde personnelle de l'empereur). Le sujet est traité de la manière suivante : en premier lieu le recrutement géographique, puis le recrutement social, ainsi que la carrière militaire menant ces militaires aux tribunats. Dans un deuxième temps a été abordé ce qui fait la spécificité de ces tribuns : leur rôle en tant qu'officier, puis leurs rapports hiérarchiques avec leurs chefs et leurs subordonnés, enfin l'organisation de ces postes de tribun. Pour finir on a été étudié ce qu'il est advenu de ces officiers après leur cursus militaire : leur carrière équestre et parfois sénatoriale, la place que ces officiers occupent dans leurs cités une fois leur service auprès de l'empereur terminé et enfin l'influence sociale qu'a pu avoir l'accès aux tribunats (et donc à l'ordre équestre) sur la famille et les descendants de ces officiers
That study is devoted to the officers (tribunes belonging to the equester ordo) of four units of the Roman garrison under the Principate : the vigiles (firemen during the day and city police at night), the urbaniciani (daylight city police), the equites singulares Augusti (the Emperor's horse guards) and the praetorian guard (the Emperor's personal guard). The subject is dealt with as follows : to start with the geographical recruitment, then the social recruitment, as well as the career leading those militaries to tribunates. The second part deals with what constitutes the specificity of those tribunes : their officer' role, then the hierarchical relationships they had with their superiors and their subordinates, to finish with the organization of those tribune' positions. Finally has been studied what became of those officers after their military cursus was completed : their equestrian and sometimes senatorial careers, the position those officers had in their cities once their service devoted to the Emperor had come to an end, and finally the social influence that their access to tribunates (and therefore to the ordo equester) may have had on their families and descendants

Augustas Strindbergas (1849-1912) – švedų dramaturgas, moderniojo teatro pradininkas, pirmasis literatūroje panaudojęs siurrealistinę stilistiką. Dramaturgo domėjimasis sapnais, pasąmone, mitologija, religija, ezoterika atsispindėjo vėlyvajame kūrybos laikotarpyje parašytose sąlygiškosiose pjesėse – „Kelias į Damaską” (1898-1904), „Sapnas” (1902) ir „Šmėklų sonata“ (1907). A. Strindbergas šioje trilogijoje atvėrė kolektyvinėje pasąmonėje slypinčius herojaus ir motinos archetipus. Herojaus archetipas išreiškia žmogaus dvasios įkalinimą materialiojoje realybėje – Žemės Motinos karalystėje. Darbe siekiama pažvelgti į tai, kaip šie archetipiniai įvaizdžiai yra atskleidžiami rašytojo sąlygiškosiose pjesėse ir pagal jas pastatytuose lietuvių režisierių darbuose. Darbe analizuojami šie spektakliai: G. Padegimo „Kelyje į Damaską” (1986, KVDT), „Šmėklų sonata” (1998, KVDT), S. Varno „Sapnas” (1994, PDT), J. Vaitkaus „Sapnas” (1995, LVADT) ir O. August Strindberg (1849-1912) – Swedish playwright, the first who used surrealist stylistics in literature, the father of modern theatre. He was studying dreams, unconscious, mythology, religion, occultism, gnosticism – he used these knowledge in conventional dramas, written in his late period of his creation: To Damascus (1898-1904), A Dream Play (1902) and The Ghost Sonata (1907). In this trilogy A. Strindberg opened archetypes of collective unconscious – the mother and the hero. The archetype of hero means imprisonment of human soul in the material reality – the kingdom of Terrible Mother. This work is dedicated to look how these These archetypal images are represented by writer and in the performances of Lithuanian directors: To Damascus (1986, KVDT) and The Ghost Sonata (1998, KVDT) of G. Padegimas, A Dream Play (1994, PDT) of S. Varnas and To Damascus (2007, KDT) of O. Koršunovas. The results of analysis of plays showed that the archetype of Terrible Mother in A. Strindberg‘s plays is conveyed through life-dream metaphor, when the material reality portrayed as a illusory dream world, consists of the contradictory poles of good and evil. The main actors in dramas embody an archetypal image of the hero, and secondary characters are portrayed as a number of different aspects of the hero’s inner world. Augusta Ada Byron was born 10 December 1815 as the only child of the poet Lord Byron and his wife Anne Isabella Byron. Byron did not have a relationship with his daughter.Ada was often ill, beginning in early childhood. At the age of eight, she experienced headaches that obscured her vision. In June 1829, she was paralyzed after a bout of measles. She was subjected to continuous bed rest for nearly a year. By 1831, she was able to walk with crutches. A proposta deste trabalho é o estudo do exílio e seus desdobramentos, principalmente através da imagem originaria do baldio, em textos (Barthes) de Augusto Roa Bastos. Tem como foco central, um livro sobre roteiro, cuja edição acompanha um de seus roteiros, intitulado Mis reflexiones sobre el guión y el guión cinematográfico de Hijo de hombre (1993) e os filmes Alias Gardelito (1961) e Sabaleros (1959). Existe em Roa Bastos uma poética do exílio. O exílio é o despojamento, o abandono de categorias como povo, nação e identidade. O sujeito se lança para um mais além do já consagrado ou já sabido. O exílio é a abertura a partir da qual se estruturará uma noção de literatura, cinema e comunidade.

En plus de ce qu’il avait écrit auparavant sur la libido dans le Traité du libre arbitre, Augustin a consacré deux passages de la Cité de Dieu à la question de l’affectivité. Dans ces deux textes, qu’on trouve aux livres IX et XIV, il s’affronte aux théories stoïciennes et platoniciennes et s’efforce de montrer la particularité de la conception chrétienne de l’affectivité, en liant les affects à la volonté ; ainsi réintégrés dans l’ordo amoris qui structure l’univers augustinien, les affects sont bons si l’amour qui les motive est orienté vers le bien véritable. Toutefois, dans ces textes, Augustin ne détaille pas ce que sont les affects : il n’en définit aucun, il n’analyse pas les relations qu’on peut établir entre eux. Pourtant, si l’on envisage l’ensemble de son œuvre, on découvre des descriptions variées d’affects nombreux. Ce travail cherche à rendre compte de l’affectivité augustinienne. Il découvre la structure essentielle qui la supporte, qui n’est pas l’ordonnancement de la volonté au bien, mais d’abord l’espérance d’atteindre lavie heureuse. Cette espérance éloigne tout à fait la pensée d’Augustin de celle des philosophes stoïciens ou néoplatoniciens. Elle permet de penser l’affectivité dans sa relation au langage, de comprendre que les affects sont portés par la voix, le souffle, le rire ou les larmes, et comment ils forment eux-mêmes un langage, qui raconte le cheminement (peregrinatio) vers la vie heureuse
First in De libero arbitrio, then in De ciuitate Dei, Augustine describes his theory of affectivity. In books IX and XIV of De ciuitate Dei, he objects to the Stoician theory of apatheia and the Platonician dualism. He points out the Christian idea of affectivity, which considers the affects depending on the will. In this way, emotions are parts of the Augustinian ordo amoris. They are good if they reveal a true love of the good. In these texts however Augustine does not explain what kind of emotions heis thinking about. He gives no definition of them and does not analyse their interconnections. But in the rest of his writings, we can find various descriptions of several emotions. In this work we try to appreciate Augutine’s affectivity, by understanding that it is not predicated on the good will, but on the hope in the beata uita. This hope makes the thought of Augustin different from Stoician or Neoplatonician philosophy. From this point of view, we can understand how affectivity is linked tolanguage, how emotions are embodied by the voice, the respiration, the laughter and the tears, and how they are also a langage, which tells us the peregrinatio to the uita beata

Questa tesi si propone di affrontare alcune specifiche questioni riguardanti il ius militare, ovvero quello specifico ius singulare, che, a partire da Augusto, disciplinò le esistenze dei soldati e dei veterani dell’esercito romano. Nello specifico, l’indagine si concentra unicamente sulle norme regolanti la condizione di milites e veterani nell’età del Principato. La ricerca si divide in quattro parti. Nella prima si propone una breve descrizione della storia istituzionale dell’esercito, a partire dalla riforma di Caio Mario fino agli interventi di Augusto in ambito militare. Con riguardo alla riforma militare augustea ci si è soffermati, innanzitutto, sull’istituzione del servizio militare professionale e, in secondo luogo, sull’istituzione dei premi di congedo (i cosiddetti praemia militiae) e dell’aerarium militare (ovvero della cassa specificamente preposta al pagamento dei praemia). Nella seconda parte si prendono in esame le norme che disciplinavano il procedimento di reclutamento e le condizioni di accesso ai differenti corpi dell’esercito, vale a dire le legioni, le truppe ausiliarie, le coorti pretorie e urbane, le coorti dei vigiles, gli equites singulares Augusti e le flotte pretorie e provinciali. Oltre ai requisiti fisici e a quelli giuridici, previsti per accedere a tali corpi, si è approfondito lo studio dello status civitatis attribuito ai milites di alcuni reparti (segnatamente i classiarii delle flotte pretorie e gli equites singulares Augusti), al momento della loro iscrizione nei ranghi dell’unità. La terza parte approfondisce un tema molto controverso, quello del divieto di matrimonio dei militari. Dopo un’analisi approfondita delle differenti opinioni formulate su questo problema, la mia tesi si rivolge ad alcuni nodi mai sciolti dagli studiosi, chiarendo che esso, certamente introdotto prima di Claudio, fu revocato soltanto da Settimio Severo nel 197. L’indagine ha poi affrontato due questioni tra loro connesse: da un canto la natura giuridica delle unioni che i soldati intrattenevano con le donne conosciute durante la ferma, dall’altro la condizione dei figli concepiti in tali relazioni. Quanto a quest’ultimo aspetto mi sono soffermato in particolar modo sui contenuti della nota epistula di Adriano a Ramnius Martialis, la quale concesse ai figli dei soldati di alcuni reparti (in particolare a quelli dei legionari) la bonorum possessio unde cognati. Nella quarta e ultima parte si affronta il tema dei privilegi concessi con il congedo ai veterani e alle loro famiglie. L’indagine si incentra sull’esame dei formulari dei diplomata militaria, ovvero di quei documenti consegnati, al momento dell’honesta missio (congedo onorevole), agli auxiliares, ai classiarii delle flotte pretorie e provinciali, ai pretoriani, agli urbaniciani e agli equites singulares Augusti. L’esame del loro formulario ha permesso di definire la specifica condizione giuridica dei veterani di questi differenti reparti dell’esercito. Lo studio dei diplomata propone, inoltre, altre spinose questioni: occorre comprendere, in primo luogo, perché essi, salvo alcuni casi eccezionali, non furono mai consegnati ai veterani delle iustae legiones. La tesi si chiude con un’indagine sulla natura giuridica delle cosiddette leges veteranorum, vale a dire quelle constitutiones poste a fondamento del rilascio dei singoli diplomi. A tal riguardo l’indagine tenta di individuare le ragioni per le quali le leges veteranorum concernenti gli ausiliari, i classiarii e gli equites singulares Augusti, si differenziavano, anche sul piano diplomatico, da quelle dei pretoriani e degli urbaniciani.
This dissertation aims to deal with some particular questions about ius militare, namely the specific ius singulare, which regulated the condition of Roman soldiers and veterans from the age of Augustus. In particular, the study focuses solely on the rules regulating the condition of milites and veterans in the period of the Roman Principate. The research is divided into four parts. In the first part there is a short description of the institutional history of the Roman army, from the reform of Caius Marius up to the interventions of Augustus in military affairs. With regard to the Augustan military reform, I have concentrated first on the creation of the professional military service and, secondly, on the foundation of the awards of discharge (the so-called praemia militiae) and of the aerarium militare (namely the treasury that would specifically finance the praemia). In the second part, I examine the rules pertaining to the procedure of recruitment and the conditions of access to the different units of the Roman army, namely the legions, the auxiliary units, the Praetorian Guard, the urban cohorts, the vigiles, the equites singulares Augusti, and the praetorian and provincial classes. In addition to the physical and legal requirements, necessary for access to these units, I examine in depth the status civitatis that was conferred to the milites of some units (in particular the classiarii of praetorian classes and the equites singulares Augusti), at the moment of their enrolment in the military. The third part examines a very controversial issue, namely the marriage ban for the soldiers. Following a detailed examination of the different opinions on this question, my dissertation investigates some complex issues which are still to be resolved, clarifying that the ban, certainly introduced befor Claudius, was withdrawn only by Septimius Severus in 197 AD. Furthermore, the research deals with two other related matters: namely, the legal status of the relationships maintained by the soldiers with the women that they met during the service, and, the condition of the children conceived in these relationships. As far as the latter is concerned, I particularly concentrate on the content of the well-known epistula of Hadrian to Ramnius Martialis, which conferred to the children of some milites (in particular those of the legionaries) the bonorum possessio unde cognati. In the fourth and last part, I examine the issue of the privileges conferred to the veterans and their families upon discharge. The research focuses on the analysis of the formularies of diplomata militaria, namely the documents delivered upon the honesta missio (the honorable discharge) to the auxiliares, to the classiarii of the praetorian and provincial fleet, to the praetorians, to the urbaniciani and to the equites singulares Augusti. The examination of their formularies has allowed us to clarify the specific legal condition of the veterans from these different military units. Furthermore, the study on diplomata proposes other thorny questions: firstly it must be understood why they, apart from some exceptional cases, were never delivered to the veterans of iustae legiones. The dissertation ends with a research on the legal nature of the so-called leges veteranorum, namely the constitutiones on the basis of the delivery of each diploma. In this regard, the study attempts to identify the reason why the leges veteranorum concerning the auxiliaries, the classiarii, and the equites singulares Augusti, are different from those of the praetorians and of the urbaniciani, also as regards their diplomatic structure.
