Abstract:
The Special Article in this issue of Medical Problems of Performing Artists has the potential to usher in a new era in improving the lives of musicians (and potentially other performing artists) around the world. The Health Promotion in Schools of Music conference that was held in Texas in the fall of 2004 brought together a rich mixture of music and performing arts medicine professionals. Stimulated by the new National Association of Schools of Music accreditation standard that requires undergraduate music students to receive instruction in injury prevention and occupational health promotion, participants in the conference worked diligently for 3 days to discuss what we know, what we don't know, and how to approach the vital yet immensely complex issue of health promotion and injury prevention for college-level music students. While the recommendations in the Special Article are intentionally broad and allow each school to develop its own program, they are based on a true state of the art analysis of the field.

Abstract:
The article studies the development of guitar art in Ukraine at the beginning of the XXIst century. This topic is virtually not researched in domestic musicology. All the research is primarily devoted to pan-European trends or regional school. For the first time, this study analyzes various aspects of the activity of the Guitarists Association of the NUMU (National All-Ukrainian Music Union) presenting historical material on the formation of guitar art in Ukraine, and information on outstanding musicians of the past. Factual material on the history of the National All-Ukrainian Music Union and the Association of Guitarists as its creative center has been gathered. The article traces the development of the guitar movement in Ukraine at the beginning of the new century from the First All-Ukrainian Festival-Competition of Guitar Art of Valery Petrenko to the presentday events. It emphasizes ways of development of competitive activity, the case of Oleg Stefaniuk Open Competition of Music Masters (2019), online competitions of performers "Guitar Play" and competition "Compoguitar". The only specialized magazine Guitar in Ukraine, published regularly since 2008, facilitates the promotion of the guitar art. Hence, the active and diverse activities of Guitarists Association of the NUMU have significantly contributed to the development of Ukrainian guitar art in the performing and academic-pedagogical aspect.

Abstract:
Background: The Federation of Musical Societies of the Valencian Community (FSMCV) is a democratic association created 50 years ago, which represents and supports the 550 associations that make it up, with the aim of promoting, disseminating and teaching music. It promotes associationism and provides society with a way of developing cultural articulation, mainly developing its activities within the Valencian Community, although its national and international activity is very remarkable. Methodology: This article based on a prospective study using a qualitative methodology analyzes one of the proposals made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the FSMCV through the use and application of the collaborative creation system Soundcool where more than 100 students from music schools in the Valencian Community played with their own mobile devices. In order to obtain the results of this study: unstructured interviews; focus group; articipant observation and analysis of the audiovisual material collected through the different previous preparation meetings were taken into account, as well as the product of the final perforation collected by the researchers. Main Findings: The results obtained with the introduction of creative elements and strategies through new digital tools such as Soundcool, allow new spaces in the teaching of music students further integrating contemporary languages and creativity, as well as promoting their digital competence. Implications: Also with this type of proposals through the FSMCV, we reinforce the creative commitment through the production of sound by students of music schools.

Abstract:
Financial dependence of singing societies in the state of Serbia and Kingdom of Yugoslavia is particularly analyzed in the paper, with a view to pointing to problems which hindered the advancement of music culture in the civil society. As other similar institutions of civic type, choirs did not have at their disposal sufficient financial, social and symbolic capital independent of the state, so they did not possess the power to influence on the government authorities. Although the period between World Wars brought evident improvement in the state treatment of music institutions, it could not be interpreted as a fundamental shift. The treatment of the Yugoslav singing union (Juznoslovenski pevacki savez), which fought for promotion of music culture in the Yugoslav society, is particularly indicative. This largest music organization in the country, fostering ideology of integral Yugoslavism, strived to contribute to ethnic and social cohesion of different regions through singing. In its plans for improving singing practice this organization exhibited a clear vision for activism in favor of the nation and state, but the state authorities did not know how or did not desire to make use of it. Certain information suggests indolent and at times negative, discouraging attitude of authorities towards different ways of improvement of music practice, both art and society wise, which opens a new horizon for future studies and for better comprehension of contemporary problems as well.

Abstract:
In this article we study forms and methods used to popularize western classical music in a South Korean TV series. The main subject of analysis is the TV series Beethoven Virus (2008) devoted to a symphony orchestra in a fictional South Korean city. The main purpose of this TV series is the promotion of classical music, and the author of the article comes to the conclusion that its popularity among Korean audience is explained by its engaging, convincing artistic methods with respect to national cultural specificities, which were used to show the working environment of professional musicians. The series reveals real problems of modern Korean musical culture: “crisis of overproduction” of academic musicians; discrimination of graduates of South Korean musical educational institutions; prejudice that classical music is only for the rich. The author emphasizes that immersion into the atmosphere of professional musical life allows the viewers to apprehend the educational value of the TV series more clearly. Beethoven Virus demonstrates traditional Korean attitude towards European classical music determined by the Confucian roots; and at the same time, it depicts changes in the modern culture conditioned by gradual departure from traditional values. The two main characters — the young and the old conductors — symbolize the old and the new in the Korean musical culture. They interact in a traditional eastern way: the new spirit does not openly conflict with the established convention, but sprouts from it. The author suggests that the music is explained in the film through emotional associations which let the viewers fully perceive the musical idea. The author believes that this method, compared to other ways widespread in the West, corresponds to the nature of the specific sensation of European classical music associated with Confucian cultural roots. An opinion is expressed that methods of music education used in Beethoven Virus were chosen in accordance to the South Korean serial genre traditions: leitmotivs in the soundtrack and gesture clichés are of particular significance here. The author suggests that the South Korean experience of promoting musical classics by means of serial films can be used abroad — given that the differences in mentality and realities of musical life are taken into account.

Abstract:
A forgotten figure of the new Hungarian musical movement of the 1910s, Géza Vilmos Zágon (1889–1918) was a talented composer, pianist and music writer. He belonged among those young composers who turned toward French culture instead of the traditional German orientation and searched for new inspiration in Paris. He was, at the same time, one of the few to be personally acquainted with leading personalities of the city’s musical life: letters by Claude Debussy, Michel-Dimitri Calvocoressi, Louis Laloy, Émile Vuillermoz and Albert Zunz Mathot have survived in his legacy. During his stay in France between 1912 and 1914, he acted as the representant of the former UMZE (Új Magyar Zene Egyesület, New Hungarian Music Association), and did not only bring attention to himself as a performer of his own works, but was also instrumental in promoting those by Bartók and Kodály. In the present study, I seek to demonstrate that Zágon served as an important liaison for Bartók’s circle with some of the most influential groups of French avant-garde, the Société Musicale Indépendante, as well as Calvocoressi. In an effort to document these important relationships as well as Zágon’s activity, I publish a selection of his correspondence in original language, with French translation provided where appropriate.

Abstract:
Driven by the solidarity movements following the “refugee crisis” of 2015, the Brussels-based non-profit organization Muziekpublique, specialized in the promotion of so-called “world music”, initiated the Refugees for Refugees project. This album and performance tour featured traditional musicians who had found asylum in Belgium and had artistic, political, and social goals. In comparison to the other projects conducted by the organization, each step of the project benefited from exceptional coverage and financial support. At the same time, the association and the musicians were facing administrative, musical, and ethical problems they had never encountered before. Three years after its creation, the band Refugees for Refugees is still touring the Belgian and international scenes and is going to release a new album, following the will of all actors to go on with the project and demonstrating the important social mobilization it aroused. Through this case study, we aim at questioning the complexity of elaborating a project staging a common identity of “refugees” while valuing their diversity; understanding the reasons for the exceptional success the project has encountered; and determining to what extent and at what level it helped—or not—the musicians to rebuild their lives in Belgium.

Abstract:
The process of organizing musical life in modern Italy is analyzed through the prism of new management approaches aimed at the deployment of Italian musical projects in the general sociocultural space. The issues of management and marketing in today's musical life, which are a significant component in the creation of musical projects, are outlined. The main principles of new types of marketing in the context of the promotion of musical projects in Italy are characterized - event, empirical and territorial. The functioning of the national brand project — the Arena di Verona Opera Festival, the hundredth season of which took place in 2023 on the stage of the Roman Amphitheater Arena, is highlighted. The role of the "Arena di Verona" Foundation in the organization of the opera festival has been determined. Creative advertising measures are considered, thanks to which the project is popularized as an artistic phenomenon among the public. It was found that Italian festival marketing in modern musical life functions thanks to the cooperation of state, financial institutions, private business sector, associations and foundations. The specifics of the promotion of Italian music projects are revealed, which includes analysis, planning, implementation of a massscale event with the help of creativity in advertising, constant technological updating. The dependence of the success of musical projects on the exclusive decisions of the organizers, innovative technologies used in scenery, lighting, stage design, etc. is substantiated. The high artistic component of Italian music projects, which attract more fans, always take place in a certain place and time, strengthen the brand of the territory and make the region attractive both for the local population and for tourists, has been identified. It has been proven that the main goal of organizing musical life in modern Italy, working for a high professional result, is to show the world the historical and artistic sights of Italian cities and preserve Italian musical projects as a national cultural brand for future generations.

Abstract:
BackgroundSelf-management refers to an individual’s abilities and behavior to maintain and improve their own well-being and monitor and control the physical and psychosocial reactions related to their condition to maintain a satisfactory quality of life [1,2]. Self-management is an essential part of treatment alongside medical care. Peer support is based on sharing of information and experiential knowledge among persons living with the same condition. Peer support is seen more and more important in healthcare, and it has been used to improve overall health and promote health behavior and self-management. [3].ObjectivesTo promote the health and well-being of those living with rheumatic and/or musculoskeletal diseases, and to support their ability to cope with illness through peer-led “Reumatroppi” group activity. The aim of the group activity is to help participants notice things that increase well-being and health in their everyday lives and turn their thoughts to positive things.MethodsThe Finnish Rheumatism Association trains volunteers to become ”Reumatroppi” group instructors. Trained volunteers set up a group and receive a written material consisting of thirty nonmedical health-related topics that are scientifically studied and relevant in management of rheumatic and/or musculoskeletal diseases. Topics include, for instance, resistance exercise, cardiovascular health, nutrition, recovery and rest. In addition, topics such as literature, music, nature, and creativity are included to broaden the view of self-management. The group meets regularly to discuss varying topics and share their experiences and thoughts. In addition, the group does joyous tasks together both indoors and outdoors. A task related to the topic is also given at home before next meeting. Self-report questionnaires with quantitative and qualitative questions are administered to the participants at the end of the group.ResultsIn 2021-2022, 86% of participants (n=80) reported paying more attention to their health behaviors (incl. physical activity, nutrition, rest). Additionally, 91% of the participants stated that they had tried to improve their own well-being and health in their everyday lives. 76% of participants had reduced sitting and sedentary time. It is also noteworthy that 80% of the participants reported better mood, and 81% had experienced more enthusiasm in their everyday lives. In addition, 71% of the participants reported that they had been (physically) more active and found more arts in their lives during the group. 81% of the participants had also found new friends in the group.ConclusionPeer-led “Reumatroppi” group activity has been able to raise the awareness for self-management among those living with rheumatic and/or musculoskeletal disease. The participants have paid more attention to their health behavior and found new resources that promote their overall well-being.References[1]Barlow, J. et al. 2002. Abstract:
The present paper deals with the leading trends in the development of Russian jazz art. The authors substantiate high productivity of the “thaw” era in Russian art leading to the emancipation of society, the expansion of the range of cultural communication and formation of the auto-image of Russian jazz. The research explores refraction of jazz aesthetics in stylistics as a youth subculture with its own slang, musical preferences and behavioral models. While the negative consequence of the promotion of jazz as a musical reference point for representatives of this youth subculture was the narrowing and stereotyping of listeners' expectations, the emergence of new artistic types, themes and images that do not lose their significance at the turn of the 21 century came to be the positive side of the popularity of jazz among young people. The paper reveals how Moscow jazz of the 1950s and 1960s entered a period of active development of jazz improvisation techniques, as well as embraced the experience of foreign collectives. Basing on the study of bibliographic sources and musicological literature, the authors identify the leading trends of the Moscow jazz school of the given period: transformation of ensemble interaction strategies, intellectualization of the perception of jazz music, institutionalization of jazz in Russian musical culture. The paper specified socio-cultural factors that determined the leading role of the Moscow jazz school in the period of the 1950s and 1960s in the creation of youth clubs, amateur associations and jazz study centers, jazz festivals, the appearance of the first professional educational institutions of the pop-jazz profile.

Abstract:
Abstract Through detailed analysis of several case studies, this essay investigates a special form of sanqu 散曲 song, namely, songs that embed references to dramas (quzhong daixi 曲中帶戲). A long song suite (changtao 長套) by Yuan author Sun Jichang 孫季昌 (fl. 14th century) is the best-known example of a pastiche of zaju play titles and dramatic protagonists intended to stimulate and guide readers' imagination. When late Ming dramatist Shen Jing 沈璟 (1553–1610) imitated Sun's pastiche song suite, he painstakingly sought to disrupt the obvious association between lyric and invoked play in an appeal to the literati aesthetic of lyrical indirection. Another, shorter song suite from the Ming, this one by an anonymous author, incorporates chuanqi play titles with little literary embellishment, catering to popular tastes. Finally, set to the tunes “Pipo yu” 劈破玉 and “Gua zhen'er” 掛真兒, popular songs featuring chuanqi play titles appear in three late Ming miscellanies. As these songs describe their source play's main protagonists and plot elements, they may be seen as expressing the voice of commoners and at the same time promoting ethical values. Taken together, these examples illustrate that it was not unusual for sanqu songs to incorporate dramatic references. This blending of song and drama can be traced to the arbitrary Yuan dynasty definition of yuefu 樂府 (literally, “Music Bureau songs”) and its relationship with sanqu songs. Thus the heterogeneous and inclusive nature characteristic of sanqu songs can be viewed in a new light.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Cross-sectional and experimental knowledge highlight the contribution of various health-promoting behaviors, such as physical activity, regular sleep, and healthy nutrition to mental and physical health. Beyond these well-studied lifestyle behaviors, music listening and perceived respect in social interactions are just recently proposed everyday life experiences, which may act as health-promoting factors. Purpose This study tested the simultaneous contribution of several health-promoting behaviors and factors and examined listening to music and positive social interaction by means of perceived respect as new potentially preventive and health-promoting behaviors and factors using an ambulatory assessment design. Methods Seventy-seven young healthy adults (38 women, 23.9 ± 4.5 years) completed surveys on their psychological state (i.e., mood, stress, and fatigue) five times a day for four consecutive days. A saliva sample was collected with each data entry to explore the physiological stress markers salivary cortisol, alpha-amylase, and flow rate as further outcome variables. As predictors, perceived respect, self-reported physical activity, the sleep’s restfulness, daily coffee, alcohol, vegetable/fruit consumption, and music listening behavior were recorded. Results Overall, restful sleep, mean daily perceived respect, and listening to music were most clearly associated with more positive psychological states, that is, better mood and lower fatigue and perceived stress. Associations with daily alcohol, coffee, and vegetable/fruit consumption appeared rather minor. While perceived respect scores were associated with lower daily cortisol output, coffee consumption was positively related to daily cortisol and alpha-amylase. Self-reported physical activity was unrelated to either outcome measure. Conclusions These findings provide important insights regarding potential resources of health (i.e., music and respect), their covariation, and which psycho-physiological mechanisms may underlie the links between health factors and well-being. Findings also have implications for the development of interventions aiming to increase resilience and foster health. Here, strategies for improving sleep quality, the use of music, and approaches that emphasize mutual respect and appreciation appear useful additions.

Abstract:
Hegel, a well-known scholar of Jammani, has placed music in the category of love arts. Indian music has been called the essence of all four languages. Music has been worshiped extensively in India and has been worshiped as Veena Vavadani. Sa vidya or liberation is music. In the divine period, the reins of music were in the hands of Brahmins. In this period, music flourished in religious atmosphere. Samudragupta was self-effacing. In this period, music began to develop in Rajashraya. Classical and folk music was also promoted. Kaval Das and Bhasa, the great poet and playwright of Sanskrit, wrote important texts in this period. The Rajputs were ruled after the Gupta period. Indian music, which was embedded in the thread of unity, began to be divided into two streams, the music of North India and the music of South India. Important texts of music were written. In the Muvassalam era, Sharangadee wrote a famous book of music called Sangeet Ratnakara. During this period, Amir Khusro brought a new verse in the field of music. The origins of the plants became popular for singing songs and singing ghazali. Bhagakat music was emphasized during the Mughal period. Dhrupad Dhamar singing was popular. Abstract:
Relevance of the study: Along with the crisis of the "aging audience" of classical music in concert halls, which is noted by researchers and performers, in the last two years there has been a tendency to increase listening to classical music on digital platforms. The fact that, on the one hand, we are talking about the crisis of classical music audience reduction and, on the other hand, there are opposite trends indicating an increase in its popularity, actualizes the study of the communication mechanisms of classical music performers with the audience through digital tools. Main objective of the study: To identify the trends, principles and mechanisms that have led to the recent increase in the popularity of classical music, particularly through digital tools on social media platforms such as YouTube and Instagram. Methodology: Using the concept of "communication strategy" from the field of strategic management, we analyze the trends observed in the process of transformation of the way classical music performers communicate with the audience in the context of the evolution of media technologies. The study also used empirical (data collection, observation), general scientific (analysis) and theoretical (generalization, systematization) methods. Results and conclusions. Modern media platforms have become a great resource for the promotion of a cultural product. They offer opportunities to reach a multi-billion audience composed of different segments, analytical tools and feedback. The mediatization of cultural space and changes in the psychology of perception of cultural products among new generations require new strategies of communication of classical music performers with the audience. The answer lies in the tendency to create audiovisual content that can be broadly divided into those in which classical music is the central object and those in which it is the background. Reels and Shorts, short videos that use classical music as a background, have become a means of expanding audiences by attracting listeners who were not previously interested in classical music. Audiovisual content featuring classical music is evolving from the traditional concert video to the visualization of music through electronic means, plastic arts (photography, painting) and the creation of videos with a storyline (cinematography). An important trend contributing to the growth of classical music audiences is the combination of classical repertoire with more popular film or cartoon music. The study of communication channels and methods of modern classical music performers with the audience is important in connection with the development of the classical music industry in Ukraine and the development of a strategy for the promotion of Ukrainian classical music products in the world market of music production.

Abstract:
AbstractUnderstandings and discourses about age have tended to be instrumental to popular music in terms of production, promotion and consumption, and many studies of popular music have taken younger people, and especially ‘youth’ cultures, as their subject matter. Where older people have been considered, the focus has mostly been retrospective, that is on their experiences when young and their attitudes to contemporary ‘youth’ cultures, rather than relationships between the temporal dimension of the life course and music. As the case of danzón illustrates, stereotypes that older people are resistant to novelty, change and possibility are ill founded. Moreover, where age is used to justify rescuing ‘cultural traditions’, caution may be called for and analysis required to assess what lies behind such claims and why. In Veracruz, the older age of the majority of danzón performers is evoked to ‘authenticate’ this local ‘tradition’, and justify its ‘rescue’ and promotion by Veracruz's culture industries. Yet, older people are not considered repositories of ‘tradition’ or sought out as ‘authentic’ practitioners. Instead, many older performers are new to danzón.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine the process of policy changing in the Department of Music in the School Arts Education Promotion Plan, a document issued by th Ministry of Education from 2011 to 2020, and to find problems and improvements. As a Result, until 2015, the focus was mainly on quantitative growth by increasing th number and amount of schools supported, but after 2016, qualitative growth such as music programs, student satisfaction, and teacher education was pursued. Background of the initial policy began with the cultivation of personality for social requirement, then shifted to the student’s artistic value recognition. It expanded from the center of the orchestra to the musical, theater, art club, and art school. On the mid-term, the accumulated music and arts infrastructure was used to record musical development and established a system for business consulting. After the policy review, problems of mixed support for new and self-sustaining schools, consumer-focused music education, and musical instrument-biased support appeared. In order to improve these, it was confirmed that long-term planning and budgeting, support for various music areas, and mutual efforts of the Ministry of Education and the teacher group for music programs were necessary.

Abstract:
The place of music therapy in the spectrum of musical interventions in dementia care needs to be better understood in light of the ‘supply’ and ‘demand’ of this provision. A semi-structured, online survey of British Association for Music Therapy members and affiliates was undertaken in summer 2017. It asked respondents to report on employment practice and settings, and experience in dementia-related music therapy. It asked about training received and given, and what barriers prevent wider availability of music therapy for people with dementia in the United Kingdom. Replies came from 188 people, 142 of whom were working with people with dementia. Most respondents reported working in the public or voluntary sector, but one in five was self-employed. Most (61%) were employed in residential care or hospital settings, for an average of 20 hours per week. The main factor that would increase music therapy provision in dementia care was seen as ‘greater awareness’ of music therapy amongst the general public and within the National Health Service. Nearly one-quarter (23%) thought that training and development could help increase provision. This was the largest survey undertaken to date of dementia practice by Music Therapists in the United Kingdom. It has implications for recruitment, professional development, promotion of the specialism and research.

Abstract:
Abstract There are calls for innovation in health promotion and for current issues to be presented in new and exciting ways; in addition to creating engaging messages, novel ways to deliver health messaging are needed, especially where youth are the key target audience. When pupils in WHO Health Promoting Schools were asked what health messages would resonate with them, they also identified celebrities as the ‘messengers’ they would be particularly likely to listen to. Expanding on these discussions, the pupils quoted celebrity-recorded music videos containing health and lifestyle messaging as an example of where they had learned from celebrities. Their ability to sing phrases from the songs and repeat key health messages they contained indicated the videos had commanded attention and provided knowledge and perspectives that had been retained. We located on YouTube the video titles the pupils identified and evaluated the content, messaging and production concepts these celebrity-recorded music videos incorporated. All are good examples of the health promotion genre known as education entertainment, where educational content is intentionally included in professionally produced entertainment media to impart knowledge, create favorable attitudes and impact future behaviors. The importance of this genre is growing in parallel with the burgeoning influence of social media. Music videos resonate with youth, and celebrity recordings combine young people’s love of music with their fascination for the aura of celebrity. Hence, producing videos that combine an effective health message with celebrity endorsement offers potential as an innovative conduit for health promotion messaging among youth.

Abstract:
In the context of the digital era, music marketing has undergone a significant shift towards fragmented strategies, with the rise of the TikTok platform playing a key role. TikTok, as a new type of social media in digital media dissemination, has played a crucial role in music promotion with its short video format. The marketing approach of "music + short video" has thus emerged. Its fragmented content not only quickly attracts widespread attention in the era of digital fragmentation but also has a significant impact on music charts. TikTok's data-driven strategy provides precise audience preference information for customized music marketing. The platform's encouragement of user-generated content and the multi-layered, multi-dimensional integration and interaction between artists and audiences are the core elements of its successful fragmented music marketing. This paper focuses on analyzing fragmented music marketing methods in the digital media environment, using TikTok as the main case study and applying the 4R theory (Relevancy, Reaction, Relationship, and Reward) as the research framework. It emphasizes the transformative role of digital platforms like TikTok in promoting fragmented music marketing. The research includes its algorithms, user interaction models, and marketing strategies. It aims to present the dynamics of music promotion and consumption in the emerging digital environment, showing a trend where the future of music marketing will increasingly rely on flexible strategies adapted to digital trends, and will permeate the continuously developing user interaction and digital media environment in a fragmented form.

Abstract:
The development of the Internet has given birth to a new type of promotion mode, and the selection of promotion agents has become a hot issue. The influence index of the agent itself and the type of its association structure become the key factors affecting the degree of product promotion. In this study, we analyze different types of influencers and their community structure in social networks, study the influence of influencers' community structure and influence on information dissemination, and try to find out the agent selection strategy to obtain the highest promotion efficiency under the lowest budget. Based on these findings, this paper proposes an agent selection strategy for product promotion that integrates influencer type and association structure. The strategy suggests that firms first identify the social network structure of their target market and then select the combination of influencers that maximizes the effect of information dissemination. The findings of this study provide a new perspective and methodology for enterprises to promote their products in social networks, which helps them to utilize social network resources more effectively and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of product promotion.

Abstract:
The Association for Contemporary Music was initially founded in Moscow in 1923. It united Russian modernist composers, promoted the cause of ‘new music’ in print and in performance, and served as the Russian chapter of the International Society for Contemporary Music. Bowing to political pressure, the Association ceased to operate in the early 1930s. In January 1990, the existence of an Association for Contemporary Music was again announced in Moscow. Despite difficult economic circumstances, it remains active. The following is an interview conducted in July 1993 with one of its founding members and vice-presidents, Nikolai Korndorf.

Abstract:
Under the background of the new era, it has become an irresistible trend for music education theory to be deeply integrated into the curriculum construction of colleges and universities. Offering music education theory courses in colleges and universities is not only beneficial to improve college students' aesthetic ability, but also beneficial to cultivate college students' creative ability. On the basis of in-depth analysis of the actual situation of the theoretical curriculum construction of college music education, it is found that the low efficiency of the curriculum teaching and the weak strength of the faculty team are the main shackles that hinder the implementation of the national quality education goal and the promotion of the curriculum construction. Based on this, this paper puts forward three ways to expand the teaching resources of music course, cultivate the innovation consciousness of the teachers and enrich the teaching methods of music course, so as to provide a reference for the decision of integrating music education theory into the curriculum construction of colleges and universities. Abstract:
The year 1918 opens a new political era as well as a new period in the history of art. It is associated with the promotion and strengthening of new music, which was accepted by the public only after the First World War. After the "heroic years" of the 1910s, new music gradually formed its own secessionist culture in the post-war period. It gave the right to compose new music as well as an opportunity to perform, listen, and evaluate it. The article covers the activities of several local new music societies in Vienna, Berlin, and Dresden (Schoenberg Society for Private Musical Performances, J. M. Hauer’s Free Movement group, The Berlin Group of H. Scherchen, The November Group, and E. Schulhoff’s circle). The article explores the repertoire which had no stylistic, national, ideological, or political restrictions. However, due to organizational and economic reasons it was limited mainly to chamber compositions. The article also focuses on the criticism of new music (Abnruch magazine in Vienna, Melos magazine in Berlin). The historical evidence analyzed in the article allows us to re-evaluate the role of the secessionist culture of new music in the post-war years, which contributed to significant changes in its performance, perception and evaluation. This, in turn, marked the beginning of the era of new music as an “organized activity"—the heyday of the festival movement in the mid-1920s. At the same time, radical art was rapidly losing its unity: the confrontation of divergent aesthetic trends (the Schoenberg school and Neoclassicism) resulted in a split. The revolutionary impulse gradually exhausted itself, new music was academized and became a tradition.

Abstract:
Under the background of the current era, comprehensively deepening the implementation of teaching reform is a key consideration for schools at all levels, especially for colleges and universities. In order to carry out quality education and improve students' comprehensive literacy and professional ability, some colleges and universities have integrated traditional music culture into the vocal music teaching, and combined it with modern music art, which provides a brand-new development for vocal music teaching. At the same time, it also provides opportunities for the inheritance and promotion of traditional music culture. This article briefly expounds the significance of integrating traditional music culture into college vocal music teaching, summarizes the current problems in the process of integrating traditional music culture with college vocal music teaching, and proposes a positive and effective specific path, hoping to provide certain help and reference for the development of the vocal teaching activities in colleges and universities.

Abstract:
Disco music and closely related discos became a significant phenomenon in the late socialist period. The virtually automatic hostility of communist authorities to new musical genres coming from the West did not apply to disco music. It thus became a music genre associated with the lifestyle of young people and officially representing youth at many levels in the society of the time, from regime celebrations to commercial promotion of services and products. This paper focuses on capturing the transformations that Czech disco underwent during the period of its greatest popularity. It uses the metaphor of two generations of disco performers who approached the disco music they produced in different ways, from the superficial adoption of a new sound and rhythm in the late 1970s to the more successful performers who presented themselves as the voice of the young generation in the 1980s.
