The study aimed at mapping the types of language activities of two CD-ROMs, one that accompanies the EFL/ ESL coursebook Interchange Third Edition 1 and one that accompanies the EFL/ ESL coursebook Touchstone 2. To achieve this aim, a framework of types of language activities, based on Hughes and Weir, was created. The analysis of the language activities of the CDs consisted of identifying the main features of each activity, comparing them to the features of the activity types described in the framework and finally, categorizing each activity of each CD as one of the activity types of the framework. The results of the analysis showed that the framework was insufficient because some activities in the CDs did not fit any of the types listed. Also, the results showed that Interchange CD-ROM offers more variety in terms of types of language activities, even though there are more activities in Touchstone CD-ROM. Another finding is that in spite of the variety of types of activities, there are an expressive number of Multiple choice activities in Interchange. Finally, neither of the CDs offers writing activities.

Abstract: The main object of this project is the digital documents preservation in the medias of COROM and CD-R. Initially, this project shows literature review of the studies and projects developed in this area, analyzing the medias of CO-ROM and CO-R in relation of physical and logic structure, showing the studies of the variables who degraded these medias. These studies are the bases of cause versus effect and the parameters to development of a software that can determinate a reliability of medias, that has reliability model developed based in system reliability theory and on the studies in this area. This software has functions of identify medias, data storage and module of reliability analysis. Besides, it does also object of this project an experimental analyses, which counts with visual observation methodology, optical observation and application of the software. This analysis is the base to understand the variables related to the reliability and durability of the medias, as well as, the fundament to propose digital documents preservation. At the end of the project is possible to show results, proposes digital documents preservation politics in medias of CD-ROM and CO-R and demonstrate conclusions and suggestions to the next projects

Full textThe ν₅, ν₃ and ν₆ bands of CD₃H have been recorded on the SISAM spectrometer of the laboratory, with a resolution of about 0. 020 cm-1, then assigned. 1174 combination differences led to 8 spectroscopic ground state parameters. The ν₅ band has been analyzed by diagonalization of the upper state energy matrix. 16 spectroscopic constants allowed us to reproduce the 1169 experimental data with a standard deviation of 0. 0047 cm-1. Both the ν₃ and ν₆ bands were processed simultaneously taking into account of the Coriolis interaction between them. The fitting of the 1648 experimental data led to 22 significant spectroscopic constants for the ν₃=1 and ν₆=1 states of cD₃H, with a standard deviation of 0. 006 cm-1. Absolute intensities have been derived for all observed lines in the three bands. Two Stark patterns of CD₃Cl with hyperfine structure have been assigned using a computational program where all resonances including the Stark interaction were simultaneously taken into account. Then the hyperfine doublets were calculated using a perturbation theory

Full textActually, the usage of nanoparticles (NPs) is more and more mediatized. They are used on a large scale in numerous domains. The mail objective of this thesis was to estimate the immunotoxicity of the NPs of Cd/S, Cd/Te and of Ag on 4 model species: human, mouse, rainbow trout and blue mussel. For the project, we defined four sub-objectives: 1) determine the impact of the NPs on various cells and immune systems; 2) estimate factors influencing the toxicity of the NPs; 3) identify mechanistic achievements of the immunizing answer 4 establish the toxicity of the NPs according to environmental stress. The project results demonstrate that the NPs induced immune system performance changes, according study species. Furthermore, we also demonstrated that this toxicity was influenced by the chemistry, the’ nature of the metal and NPs size. Our results also indicated mechanistic impacts of NPs on immune cells. Oxydative stress phenomena, metallothioneines production, apoptosis and necrosis were observed. Finally in situ studies, in France and in Quebec, demonstrated that organisms already sensitized by their life environment are more sensitive to additional exposure of NPs. This project contributed to improve the knowledge on NPs toxicity according to different models species. This allowed to estimate the sensibility of every species on the NPs toxicity mechanism. The results concerning could be used in the future studies of risk assessment
