Remiantis atlikto disertacinio tyrimo rezultatais, pateiktos rekomendacijos pedagogams muzikos mokytojų rengimo praktikoje taikyti praktiškai patikrintas... [toliau žr. visą tekstą]

Full textIn order to help child victims of bullying, a greater understanding of the psychological empowerment process was needed, especially what type of activities support the development of empowerment and how empowerment is related to mental health. Artistic expression, an activity described as therapeutic, had received little attention in regards to its role in empowerment. Thus, this exploratory case study explored the role of artistic expression in psychological empowerment with child bullying victims specifically using the Nomological Network of Psychological Empowerment model by Zimmerman (1995). The research questions of this study were: (1) in what ways can individuals experience a sense of psychological empowerment from the artistic process; (2) how can the artistic process relate to the three components of the NNPE model; and (3) how are artistic expression, psychological empowerment, and psychological healing related. The archived data of four children involved in a 14- week art therapy program in 2007 in an elementary school in Ontario, Canada was explored. For this case study various data sources, such as pre and post surveys, were examined to uncover any experiences of psychological empowerment. Qualitative content analysis, with a directed approach revealed that artistic expression in art therapy provided experiences of psychological empowerment in a myriad of ways and psychological empowerment was experienced as a cyclical process for participants. Additionally, artistic expression, psychological empowerment, and psychological healing were experienced as an interactional process. Thus, art therapy should be considered as an intervention method for children experiencing bullying. Additionally, researchers should investigate empowerment as a cyclical process and conduct longitudinal studies to determine the empowerment process over time.

Full textThe work Estação da Luz: desenho e realização de um painel para o saguão 2 de acesso às plataformas de trem (Estação da Luz: design and realization of a panel for the Hall 2 accessing to railway platform) shows the trajectory of the Estação da Luz Panel creation by its author. The 120 x 85 x 1 cm panel is composed of 14 modules. It was installed on the walls at the sides of the Hall 2 fixed ladder that connects the Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos (CPTM) and São Paulo Metrô lines integration area and the central platform of Estação da Luz. The panel\'s goal, besides aesthetic, is to engage in an immanent relationship with Estação da Luz, beneath which it is installed. That determined the choice of oxidized iron as its raw material as a reference to the railway station material, cast iron , and of its design. The latter originated mainly from the station representative signs. Besides dialoguing with the railway station, the panel interacts with the architecture onto which it is installed, in terms of adopted proposal, ambience and local conditionings. So, the analysis of that artistic object inserts in the discussion about relationships between Art and Architecture. In the panel\'s realization, aesthetic issues also commanded the study of raw material and technique, and in this sense several essays were made.

Laband, Jordan K. "Rebuilding and Empowering Psyche After Trauma| A Survivor's Journey Toward Healing, Self-Expression, and Artistic Creation." Thesis, Pacifica Graduate Institute, 2015. http://pqdtopen.proquest.com/#viewpdf?dispub=1692138.
Full textThrough the use of artistic-creative methodology and alchemical hermeneutic exploration, this production thesis examines the creation of images and the process of dialoguing with them as a therapeutic tool, helping to heal and empower female trauma survivors. By acknowledging and interacting with images from the unconscious, one may begin to reintegrate split or dissociated parts of the Self, ultimately leading to the reunification of psyche. Drawing upon the theories of Jung, depth psychology, and expressive arts therapy, the author presents her personal journey toward healing, selfexpression, and empowerment, which involves active imagination and dialogues with created images. The production, two original paintings, illustrates the process of accessing the unconscious through interaction with images as a way of making meaning and healing from trauma, splitting, and dissociation. Using these ideas, mental health clinicians can gain an additional modality for the successful treatment of trauma survivors.

Full textThis project is based on eight weeks of fieldwork at an independent theatre in Beijing in the spring of 2017, based on anthropological and artistic methods. It is an attempt to develop the concept artistic ethnography, and apply it practically. In this, art is seen not mainly as a product or a form of presentation, but as a way of thinking, of relating to the world. The material consists of field notes, video, pictures, movement material, personal stories, the memories of smells, sounds and tastes and of something as vague as atmosphere – the pace of the city, the feeling of a rehearsal situation... How can the stage render a place and its people? Can I bring my experiences to life, making them relevant for anybody else? The practical artistic work with an exposition is an attempt to answer these questions. What images do we have, and what do we see when we mirror each other? What does it mean that our worlds are already intertwined? The mirror as image and play appear both as a theme and a method. Concepts like exoticism, representation and the encounter with the other are discussed, as well as the movement between identification and othering, contributing to understanding. How are people’s lives affected by China’s rapid social changes, balancing between socialism and capitalism? What role do the performing arts have in this? Questions about freedom of expression are discussed, along with the relation between politics and styles of acting, the so called “fake realism”. The research questions are tied together in a discussion of authenticity, to finally return to the personal encounter and a story of seeking contact, of friendship.

Full textThis work has as its main objective to analyze how the multiplicity of spaces that exists in Syria forms regions of artistic expressions different among them. The music and dances of this country have, intrinsic to their scales and gestures, elements coming from the space noticed by the man. In this research, it is emphasized that the space interferes, but do not determines theses choices; other factors considered here also contribute to the artistic elaboration. In this work, the space, constituted by the landscape plus the relations set in it, is not considered neutral. It acts on people as they act on him; man is in continuous - and not always conscientious - connection with his environment attributes. As we analyze here, the special structure, the temperature and the humidity of a region, its sonorous landscape (sounds to which a place is submitted), the daily sounds ahd gestures plus other major structures interfere in the sounds repertoire that is chosen to make music. Furthermore, these elements will impress postural marks and marks of muscular tonus that affect movements used to dance.
Kiel, Jeannette Larino Wooden. "Women's stories of ecofeminist activism and artistic expression| A transdisciplinary spiritual feminist inquiry into transformative and spiritual connections." Thesis, California Institute of Integral Studies, 2016. http://pqdtopen.proquest.com/#viewpdf?dispub=10183257.
Full textThis dissertation explores the stories of seven women spiritual-ecofeminist-activist-artists, including myself. It answers the question, What transformative and spiritual connections does one have with her ecofeminist activism and art?
This study connects different ways of knowing from the mind, body, heart and spirit; and it has three significant dimensions. The first dimension—transdisciplinary spiritual feminist inquiry—allows the researcher to interconnect several disciplinary ways of knowing, and it presents feminist ways to inquire about experiences with activism and creative artistic expression. The second dimension—exploration of transformational and spiritual connections—explores how study participants experience spiritual connections within their spiritual-ecofeminist-activist-artwork. The third dimension—inspirational narratives—holds the hope for the reader to connect to these stories, ecofeminist activism, and artwork, and become inspired to become agents of creative social change. After the conclusion of each of the interviews, I created a reflective art-piece, inspired by each artist-activist.
The research methodology combines transdisciplinary inquiry with feminist and women’s spirituality methods. Epistemological approaches are rooted in women’s spirituality and feminism.
The responses of the seven women spiritual-ecofeminist-activist-artists revealed, upon analysis, nine shared themes: Inspiring Others; Finding One's Voice, Connecting to Ancestors, Healing; Honoring/Connecting to Nature, Finding Community, Traveling, Greening Daily Life, and Discovering/Honoring the Goddess. These themes, along with the three main themes—Early Inspiration and Goals, Art and Activism Interconnections, and Spiritual Dimensions—affirm that numerous spiritual and transformative connections exist between their activism and creative artwork, and that these connections are dependent upon the person’s background, history, chosen spiritual-ecofeminist-activist-artwork, and creative media. Their responses indicate that there is a spiritual component to their spiritual-ecofeminist-activist-artwork and that their activism and artwork are interconnected. Their responses show that each of the seven women spiritual-ecofeminist-activist-artists defines ecofeminism in her own unique way, while making connections to nature, women, the sacred feminine or Goddess, and healing. And they utilized art and spiritual sources to heal and regain balance in their lives. The voices in this study, through storytelling, create a space of “multiple consciousness,” where the multi-dimensional voices of the seven women spiritual-ecofeminist-activist-artists are heard and valued.

Full textIn this work theoretical analysis of possibilities to improve skills of artistic expression qualifying teachers is presented. Working with students of different age groups showing possible ways of expressing themselves and improving skills of artistic expression is very important. To improve skills of artistic expression is the main goals set for the qualification course. It enables young people to create positive atmosphere and cultural environment in reality, and prevents them from being only consumers. Improvement of artistic skills is assumed to be the major goal when developing any personality. This aim could be achieved by appealing to students' skills of sociocultural expression. Therefore development of sociocultural skills is relevant while preparing teachers for their future job. The questionnaire has been prepared and the research has been done to educe possibilities for improving skills of artistic expression during the teachers' qualification course. Different ways of artistic expression has been observed. 183 students of Siauliai university and 60 teachers currently working in Siauliai schools have answered the questions given and participated in the research. The empirical part of the paper determines how skills of artistic expression effect professional development of a teacher. The most important implications of the research done are: 1. Students, who participated in different extra curriculum activities and clubs at school, tend to join clubs and art groups... [to full text]

The present study, entitled “The importance of education through art in skills development in students with specific educational needs: Perception of the teaching staff of a Swiss Institution”, aims to know the perception of the teaching staff on the importance of education through art in the inclusion of children with SEN who attend La Branche Institution. According to the problematic and the set goals it was adopted an exploratory study (descriptive) of quantitative character. It was applied a questionnaire survey to a non-probabilistic convenience sample made of 21 participants, the majority, 71.4% females. From the results obtained it was found that the teaching staff values education for art and believes that art promotes the development of skills in children with SEN, develops learning in the different areas of knowledge and is an instrument of social inclusion. In this regard, respondents reinforce the idea that education through art allows the development of a wide range of capacities, including personality, the ability of expression, critical consciousness, knowledge of different cultures and respect for them, creativity and imagination. It also has a wide range of symbolic and emotional experiences that contribute in a special way, to the affective and emotional development.

Full textIn adolescence, the development of personal maturity gains acceleration and consolidates the basic maturity aspects, which in the sense of their stability do not change for many people throughout their lives. Different visual expression helps a person to learn the language of art. According to J. Kievišas (2007, p. 6) “by acting on a person’s system of spiritual values, intellectual, emotional and physical capacities, the art stimulates the development of individual culture and socio-cultural integration and in such way adds to the general personal maturity process.” The variety of visual expression is a way through which the art can reach a person’s perception, act upon it and educate a versatile personality. The age of 5th –8th graders is a very special stage of personal development. Children become adolescents with changes in their thinking, reasoning, wishes and attitudes. Often children lose motivation to learn, “do not know how” to draw, express protest against surrounding environment. This stage of development is a turning point in a person’s creativity. In order to develop children’s further creativity, additional stimuli are necessary. The variety of visual expression is supposed to be a key in solving various creativity education problems. The subject of this work is the importance of the variety of visual expression during art lessons, and the role of such variety for the creative education of 5th –8th graders. The purpose of this work is to reveal the importance... [to full text]

Abstract: Encompassing the ways of artistic practice and theoretical thought, this research intends to investigate the building of the expression knowledge held by dance artists. It briefly evaluates the means of teaching and creating scenic dance, for grasping today's artist needs to become the creator and performer of his expressive language. It highlights the importance, to the worker of the art of movement, to be pliant to one's boundaries, towards a consistent corporeal mastery, able to produce engaged and original responses both to one's creative longings and to new demands of contemporaneity. Through resources provided by the fields of Somatic Education and Movement Analysis, a path is presented that proposes expressive potential enhancement through the perception/action flow - an approach that pursues reaching the very foundations of expressivity. Engaged on conceptually supporting the artist and on a creative bodily experience founded on authenticity, it points to a sensible and dynamic sight of Laban/Bartenieff s system as a tool for a new contextualization of dance teaching and creating processes. The goals of this research are achieved with its practical application to two choreography creation projects that weave the author's poetic drive to the open space which hosts and stirs the performer-creator artist to the quest of his expressive singularity.

Full textThe Lebanese political identities have often been linked to the existing religious identities. Lebanon has known in fact a number of civilizations and cultures, and has continuously been a place of political and religious tensions. From a methodological point of view, this thesis is based on readings and analysis of the press and the media, in addition to the literature of different artistic expressions. In the first section, the thesis focuses on the problematic. We present the multiple Lebanese political parties, their ideologies, their relationship with power and their history, especially after the Taef agreement (1989). We also study the political institutions and the political practices in Lebanon, as well as the multiple forms of political engagement. The thesis also tackles the important role of the traditional Lebanese families and the charisma of politicians. In the second section, we study the link between the political identities and the religious identities in the Lebanese public space. It focuses on the different kinds of relations that bound those two identities, in addition to the religious implications of wars. Also, this section analyses the geographical distribution of the political and religious identities in the country. In section number three, the thesis highlights the expressions of the political identities. It suggests an approach to the representation of these political identities in the media, in the fiction (literature, cinema, etc), in the songs and in fine arts. Finally, the last section focuses on the censorship, important concept in Lebanon, in the presence of a number of political and religious powers that influence the process of communication. We will define censorship, and focus on different kinds of censorship (political censorship, religious censorship, invisible censorship). We will also highlight the procedures and laws that lead to censorship, and the different ways followed by journalists and artists to face it

Full textIn the fields of artistic mediation, psychoanalysis has very rarely focused on the circus as a therapeutic medium. The hereby approach attempts to articulate this connection. The proposed thesis shows that the practice of circus arts can be a conveyor of psychological reorganizations, within a sensitive transferential framework. From the perspective of the distinctive features of circus arts, I bring forward psychological specificities that play a role in this therapeutic space. The circus appears as a subversive heterotopic space (Foucault), where balances are rendered unstable. This imbalance, which is inherent to circus arts, could also be a concern for psychological authorities. The circus ring could be considered as a borrowed superego. A clement superego, similar to the one described by Freud in Humour (1927), allowing to experience the world as a child's play. A superego that reconciles with the self, allowing movement in the sensory space. Etymologically, the ring is the place of trace, a marked surface, that aliows the notion of footprint, by approaching the sensory dimension as the initial matrix, through the experienced body. Thus, it generates the update of several native echoes that I describe from the perspective of feeling, sight and composure. The circus is also a real space, reanimated by the experience of animal nature. In this respect, it allows a space of silence, necessary to the articulation of language. It is an unavoidable pretext and pre-verb that resonates a somewhat worrying familiarity. The circus ring thus appears, where the unpredictable can emerge, and where an exit from the stasis is possible, so that a subjective dynamism takes shape
