Abstract:
Creativity research has gradually moved away from controlled laboratory settings to more naturalistic and real world domains. As a result, new research methods are required to systematically analyze the artistic experience that includes the artist’s perception, behavior, and conception throughout the creative process. We use research findings from the Cognitive Science literature to create a framework called Perceptual Logic to categorize different types of artistic experience. This framework is applicable to open-ended artistic creativity. Empiri- cally validating such a framework requires new tools that provide insight into the naturalistic creative process. We describe the initial design of a set of digital sketching tools that enables creativity researchers to quantitatively analyze the artistic experience. These tools focus spe- cifically on understanding how visual digital artists perceive and interact with their drawings and paintings throughout their creative process.

Abstract:
Artistic labour markets present some features that can be considered paradigmatic of work in the contemporary gig economy. Extant literature identified these features by focusing on how artists can be deemed exemplars of new and more flexible ways of organising a workforce. While studies examined workers' conditions in contemporary economy, the literature on artistic work has not delved into the role of space in artist's work experience. Thus, this study aims to look at how space can be harnessed by artistic workers to respond to the most pressing needs they express. To this end, the paper presents the results of a qualitative study conducted on young artistic workers in the city of Reggio Emilia. The authors propose three mechanisms (anchoring, framing, belonging) through which space can serve as a personal compass that helps mitigate the effects of the precariousness of work.

This article reflects on the influence of the artistic atmosphere on the university organization development, emphasizing that the artistic atmosphere should be regarded as the strategic objective. Universities must use technology and aesthetics to build an artistic campus environment, influence the values of its organization members through an artistic atmosphere, and then integrate the humanistic factors of artistic aesthetics and creative awareness in the university culture, awaken more humanized communication and interaction, and shape the behavior of organization members, ultimately make the members of the organization have a strong sense of collective creativity, finally improve the effectiveness of organization management to promote the development of the organization.

Abstract:
Artists are known to manage low income and work insecurity by holding multiple jobs. Through an analysis of interview data, this study explores the narratives of 20 visual artists in Sweden regarding breadwinning work. Positive and negative experiences of such work are analyzed in relation to the artists’ work behavior and identity as either ‘bohemian’ or ‘entrepreneurial.’ Breadwinning work may be seen by artists as either enabling autonomy from the market or hindering the construction of a professional identity, depending on these behaviors/identities. However, conditions such as low wage, temporary contracts, and low control over work hours ultimately decides artist’s experiences of breadwinning work. This article adds to the existing knowledge on artistic labour markets by highlighting the role of multiple job holding in mediating between an understanding of the bohemian art for art’s sake artist role and the entrepreneurial role of the artist.

Abstract:
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine artists’ experiences of involuntary career transitions and its impact on their work-related identities. Design/methodology/approach Semi-structured interviews with 40 artists in the Netherlands were conducted. Self-narratives were used to analyze the findings. Findings Artists who can no longer make a living out of their artistic activities are forced to start working outside the creative realm and are gradually pushed away from the creative industries. This loss of their creative identity leads to psychological stress and grief, making the professional transition problematic. Moreover, the artistic community often condemns an artist’s transition to other activities, making the transition psychologically even more straining. Originality/value This study provides in-depth insights into how artists deal with changes in their work-related identities in the light of involuntary career transitions.

Todays video games use diff erent aids to help players navigate and proceed in a 3D-environment. It is common that players are assigned an objective to complete and have to navigate from point A to point B, often with the help from navigational aids. This study contains an experiment where test-players had to navigate through a set of 3D-environments to complete an objective, without navigational aids. Instead the author used artistic techniques (geometry, lighting and texture) to see if they could aff ect test-players decisions in how to proceed. Results where compared to predictions in how test-players where believed to proceed. The results from the experiment states that some artistic techniques can aff ect test-players decisions in how to proceed.

Abstract:
Growing concern for the popularity of art competitions that encourage participation of secondary school senior art students is reflected in debate by many Australian art educators. It appears that acceptance of the external goal of winning a prize may demonstrate that many students and teachers have not fully considered the adverse implications of extrinsic rewards on learning strategies relevant to artistic behavior. On the other hand the benefit of exhibitions of student art work appears to be overshadowed by the prevalence of art competitions. This study surveys attitudes and perceptions of art teachers and secondary senior art students towards art competitions supported by the school. Subjects include secondary senior art students and teachers from selected Brisbane Independent Schools. It appears that participation in art competitions is more frequent in these schools. Results may prove beneficial to art educators who are concerned with the issue of extrinsic rewards for artistic behavior.

Abstract:
Background: We currently live in a time when consumers trust more on social media and less on traditional advertising as a source of information for their purchasing decisions. Social media and traditional advertising must be integrated somehow so that marketers can communicate more effectively with their target market. In this investigation, the influence of music influencers on consumer behavior is analyzed, getting to the conclusion that the benefits of influencer and social media marketing increases customer experience and credibility, as it gives a brand the ability to communicate with its customers and develop a long-term relationship. The music resource is combined with the influence of the artist's personality to generate strategies that are effective but not totally rewarded by the consumers. Purpose: The purpose of this study is therefore to explore what influence Latin American artists have on the behaviour of Latin American consumers and how companies can use these motivations to structure their own marketing campaigns. Method: In order to carry out the following research work, the following stages are proposed: Firstly, a theoretical framework will be elaborated using the methodology of literature review, secondly a qualitative research which will consist of an empirical analysis the instrument chosen for this is an interview with a professional in the sector. And finally quantitative research The survey is the instrument chosen to collect the information that will drive the quantitative research proposed for this study. Conclusion: The results suggest that artists have an influence on the purchasing behaviour of Ibero-American consumers. By establishing connections between literature review, empirical data and surveys, a significant relationship was found that affirms the theory. The study reveals evidence that consumers in general can be influenced by music as a formative variable of the environment or atmosphere. The benefits of influencer and social media marketing increases customer experience and credibility, as it gives a brand the ability to communicate with its customers and develop a long-term relationship. The music resource is combined with the influence of the artist's personality to generate strategies that are effective but not totally rewarded by the consumers. From there, marketers should take this research into account when implementing artists in their campaigns in Latin America.

This paper presents an investigation that has been developed at the Federal University of Amazonas through projects involving concepts of collaborative systems(CS) and humancomputer interaction (HCI) in artistic-cultural and entertainment events scenarios. In the artistic scene, there have been projects involving music and interaction through sounds. In the scenario of large entertainment events involving crowds, the projects consider issues such as engagement, interaction and collaboration. In these unconventional contexts the importance of the integration between the SC and IHC areas is observed in order to achieve relevant results to change the behavior of the audience aiming at an active, participatory and interactive attitude in the field of the arts and entertainment for the crowds.

Abstract:
Abstract In design synthesis, engineering prototypes make an ideal representation medium for preliminary designs. Unlike parametric design wherein a pre-specified design is parametrically varied, design synthesis demands artistic creativity and engineering experience to transform the previously known components, relationships and designs into a new form. The process compels the designer to ascertain which prototypes will, in some sense, best satisfy the design task. The challenge in this assignment lies in selecting the “right” design prototype. This selection process typically entails an objective evaluation of different designs that perform the same functions or have similar intended behavior and comparing trade-offs between alternate designs. This paper introduces a multi-objective spectral optimization algorithm for the selection of design prototypes based upon their functional representations. The optimization algorithm returns an index of rank, scoring the functional similarity of the proposed design to the goal design. Two illustrative examples apply the algorithm to the selection of a heat fin and beam.

Abstract:
One of the greatest difficulties faced by Work Safety teams is keeping workers committed to and focused on safety practices in their day-to-day work. With time, the worker tends to become accustomed to the way safety information is fed to him and he becomes indifferent, allowing lapses that can result in incidents and/or accidents. In order to break the routine that provokes such lapses, PETROBRAS/ENGENHARIA/IEDT developed the HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) MOBILE project, using educational-and-artistic tools for training in the field; a much more enticing method than conventional presentations in training rooms. The dynamic approach includes 15-minute theater-and-video presentations at the worksite and conveys messages of awareness and prevention related to Health, Safety and Environment – HSE. The goal: encouraging workers’ attentiveness and commitment to safety practices. The HSE MOBILE project aims to prevent lapses of safety practices and to reduce the number of incidents and accidents through the use of HSE points considered priority for the construction of pipelines. An analysis of the performance record in HSE shows that the Mobile HSE project has two distinct benefits. It improves behavior and attitude in the field, by increasing the perception of risk and recognizing work safety. It also produces positive results in audits by reducing the number of accidents.

Abstract:
"A central theme in the present study is the assumption that the influence on the human behavior is mediated by different internal processes in the career choice. Emotional intelligence is defined as a variable which is a cause for the relationship between personality traits and the choice of a certain career. Three causal paths to the dependent variable were tracked – a path to the direct impact of the emotional intelligence on the career choice, a path to the influence of personality traits on the emotional intelligence as well as a path to the impact of personality traits on the career choice via the emotional intelligence. The aim of the study is to show the mediating role of emotional intelligence in the relationship between personality traits and career choice. A total of 100 Bulgarian secondary and university students (42 males and 58 females), aged 17-40 years, were included in the research. The following measures were used for the purpose of the study - Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire – Short Form (TEIQue-SF), The Big five questionnaire and the Big six method for career choices. The Bulgarian version of the emotional intelligence questionnaire was translated and adapted for Bulgarian sociocultural context by Antonina Kardasheva (Kardasheva, 2012). The Big five questionnaire and the Big six method for career choices were adapted for Bulgarian conditions by S. Karabelyova (Karabelyova, 2015). The results showed that there was a direct positive impact of the emotional intelligence on the relationship between the enterprising type and conscientiousness, the artistic type and neuroticism and a negative impact on the relationship between the conventional type and extraversion. The conclusions derived from the study could be used for further psychological research in the field, as well as for enhancing the knowledge of one’s personality."

Abstract:
This paper presents preliminary results on the dynamic modelling of a cubic flying robot referred to as the Tryphon. Several Tryphons and other similar cubic flying robots have been built in the course of this project. They are used for artistic performances in museums, art galleries or theatres. Although the Tryphons are functional, they are difficult to control because of limited knowledge of their behaviour. Hence, the development of a dynamic model has the potential to significantly improve the control performances. Based on models found in the literature, the aerostatics, aerodynamics, gravity, buoyancy and inertial effects of the Tryphon are combined into a dynamic model in this paper. The parameters of the proposed model are adjusted based on experimental data obtained with the Tryphons. It is shown that a proper selection and optimization of the parameters can accurately predict the dynamics of the robot. Further extensions of the model are discussed and potential applications are proposed.
