The Abstinence-Related Motivational Engagement (ARME) scale was developed to assess motivation to remain abstinent after a smoking cessation attempt. The ARME demonstrated reliability and validity among a small sample of ex-smokers. This study expands the psychometric evaluation of the ARME and tests the ARME as a predictor of smoking status among a sample of participants quitting smoking. The parent trial tested the efficacy of a self-help smoking cessation intervention (N = 1874), with assessments every 6 months. Internal consistency and factor structure of the ARME was evaluated at each assessment to confirm use of the measure as designed. Discriminant validity was assessed by comparing the ARME to the Situation-specific Abstinence Self-Efficacy (SSE) scale via inter-correlations and prediction of future smoking status. Finally, the trajectories of both the ARME and SSE were compared among continuous abstainers and continuous smokers. A single-factor structure was observed at each assessment. Cronbach’s alphas ranged from 0.88–0.91 for the total sample. Correlations between the ARME and the SSE ranged from 0.38–0.47 (ps <0.001) among smokers; and from 0.09–0.15 (most ps > 0.05) among abstainers. Among current smokers, the ARME and SSE were independent positive predictors of subsequent abstinence (AORs 1.28–2.29, ps <0.001). For those currently abstinent, only the SSE predicted subsequent abstinence (AORs 1.69–2.60, ps <0.05). GEE analyses showed different trajectories for the two measures, as well as between abstainers and smokers. In conclusion, the ARME is a reliable, valid measure with unique predictive utility for current smokers and a distinct trajectory among those who have successfully quit.

O setor sucroalcooleiro brasileiro tem apresentado um expressivo crescimento nos últimos anos, entretanto, a manutenção das indústrias apresenta um elevado custo devido à perda de metal dos equipamentos por mecanismos de desgaste. O objetivo deste trabalho é estudar a aplicação de revestimentos duros por soldagem com arames tubulares quanto à resistência ao desgaste de facas picadoras de cana-de-açúcar, comparando os resultados obtidos em laboratórios com os aplicados em campos. Foram utilizados quatro tipos de consumíveis utilizados na indústria sucroalcooleira: um eletrodo revestido da liga FeCrC de 4,0 mm de diâmetro e três arames tubulares autoprotegidos de 1,6 mm de diâmetro, de ligas Fe-23,1Cr-4,11C, Fe-22Cr-4,5C-6,5Nb, Fe-1,8C-7,5Cr-1,5Mo-5,26Ti. O metal de base utilizado foi um aço SAE 1020. Foram construídos corpos de prova para a avaliação de desgaste em laboratório com abrasômetro Roda de Borracha segundo a norma ASTM G65-91. Posteriormente, foram construídas facas picadoras de cana-de-açúcar, revestidas com as mesmas condições de soldagem e montadas no picador de uma destilaria de álcool. A avaliação de desgaste foi feita via perda de massa. As soldagens com os arames tubulares foram efetuadas no modo de transferência por curto-circuito, com mesmos valores de corrente e tensão de soldagem. O arame contendo Nb apresentou a maior resistência ao desgaste em laboratório e devido à presença de trincas e ao lascamento do revestimento, a menor resistência ao desgaste em campo. O arame FeCrC e o arame contendo Ti e Mo apresentaram resistência ao desgaste similar, com o pior desempenho em laboratório e o melhor em campo. Comparados ao eletrodo revestido, apenas o arame contendo Nb apresentou similar desempenho em laboratório e o arame FeCrC e o arame com adição de Ti e Mo, similar desempenho em campo.

New developments in the field of continuously operating earth moving equipment demand a new way of improving wear resistances of these equipment parts which directly involved with different types of sand and rocks during their operation in harsh field environment. Wear caused by the impact and abrasion action of hard particles is a major problem in the area of earth moving machinery. The objective of this study was to enhance the useful life of the excavator bucket teeth in order to decrease the idle time required to reinstate the teeth periodically during working. The objective was carried out by means of hardfacings, where the effect of the hardfacings on the extent of wear and the wear characteristics of the excavator bucket teeth were examined. Four types of ironbased hardfacing electrodes with a wide range of C (0.75-5% by weight) and Cr (2-33% by weight) were selected to deposit by manual metal arc welding process on the low alloy steel. It was observed that the wear rates of the hardfaced low alloy steel were significantly lower than those of the un-hardfaced steel, indicating a great improvement in the wear protection provided by hardfacings.

La première occupation datée de la fin du VIe et du début du VIIe siècle, se matérialise par un ensemble de fonds de cabane associé à des structures excavées, de type fosses et trous de poteaux. Cet habitat, structuré par un réseau de fossés, a livré un imposant lot de mobilier céramique, osseux et métallique. La raréfaction des structures datées des VIIe, VIIIe et IXe siècles pourrait signaler un déplacement de l’habitat hors des limites de fouille. Dans le courant du IXe et au début du Xe siècle, l’implantation de grands bâtiments de plain-pied d’architecture mixte caractérise la seconde grande phase d’occupation. Ces bâtiments sont associés à des silos, des fours et à diverses structures excavées.

Les fouilles préventives menées entre 1988 et 1994 autour de la place Parmentier à Ivry-sur-Seine ont mis au jour une succession d’occupations depuis l’Âge du Fer. À l’époque mérovingienne, une nécropole s’installe sur les ruines de bâtiments du Bas Empire. Les inhumations s’y poursuivent durant le Moyen Âge. Au XIIe siècle est construite la chapelle Saint-Frambour, sur l’emplacement légendaire de l’ermitage de Frambaldus. L’épitaphe chrétienne d’un enfant, datable selon toute vraisemblance entre la fin du IVe et le VIe siècle, gravée sur un élément d’architecture, permet de s’interroger sur l’éventualité de l’existence d’un sanctuaire chrétien, peut-être à l’origine de la chapelle. L’emplacement privilégié pour les inhumations, au sein des ruines antiques, pourrait indiquer la réutilisation de ces murs pour une chapelle funéraire. Les données issues de la fouille ne permettent pas de préciser la nature et l’importance de l’habitat avant la période carolingienne.

La production de champagne est aujourd'hui aux mains de deux grands groupes d'acteurs : les négociants aux marques reconnues qui élaborent leur vin à partir de raisins achetés aux vignerons, et les récoltants, vinifiant et vendant sous leur propre marque le produit de leur exploitation. Deux groupes complémentaires et interdépendants qui s'affrontent depuis le début du siècle dans la conquête de parts de marché comme dans la construction d'une image commerciale : aux grandes Maisons, l'image « internationale » de vin de prestige du champagne ; aux récoltants, une image beaucoup plus récente et encore inachevée fondée sur la propriété et sur l'authenticité du terroir. Fruit d'une concurrence accrue, cette différenciation d'image repose sur deux types de qualité et semble servir d'argument dans la lutte qui oppose ces deux groupes : lutte économique, mais aussi lutte sociale et professionnelle, pour renégocier l'organisation socio-spatiale en place.

In this experimental set up, solar cooker with thermal storage unit was connected to evacuated tube collector through connecting pipes via a low flow rate pump. The design of solar cooker was such that the following fluid transfers its heat to PCM and cooking vessel simultaneously. Commercial grade acetanilide was used as latent heat storage material in the solar cooker. Cooking experiments were conducted during noon and evening with different loads and PCM storage processes were carried out simultaneously. The result include that cooking lunch for a family is possible simultaneously with heat storage along the day. Closing gate valves afterward allows cooking the dinner with the retained heat up to late evening. This expands the applicability of solar cooking and sustains the possibility of all the day around cooking using solar energy with a low inventory cost.

Or, même si ce syndrome n’a jamais été reconnu officiellement dans le domaine médical, il semble constituer une arme efficace utilisée par le mouvement pro-vie pour décourager les femmes de recourir à un avortement. S’inspirant d’une perspective féministe, cet article examine cinq difficultés pouvant avoir une incidence sur le bien-être des femmes qui interrompent une grossesse : les impacts d’une grossesse non désirée; l’oppression religieuse et patriarcale; les facteurs socio-économiques; les violences envers les femmes; et l’influence négative du mouvement pro-vie. Des pistes d’interventions pertinentes au champ du service social sont proposées.

Abstract. This article investigates the potential of W-band radar reflectivity to improve the quality of analyses and forecasts of heavy precipitation events in the Mediterranean area. The “1D+3DVar” assimilation method, operationally employed to assimilate ground-based precipitation radar data in the Météo-France kilometre-scale numerical weather prediction (NWP) model AROME, has been adapted to assimilate the W-band reflectivity measured by the airborne cloud radar RASTA (Radar Airborne System Tool for Atmosphere) during a 2-month period over the Mediterranean area. After applying a bias correction, vertical profiles of relative humidity are first derived via a 1-D Bayesian retrieval, and then used as relative humidity pseudo-observations in the 3DVar assimilation system of AROME. The efficiency of the 1-D Bayesian method in retrieving humidity fields is assessed using independent in-flight humidity measurements. To complement this study, the benefit brought by consistent thermodynamic and dynamic cloud conditions has been investigated by separately and jointly assimilating the W-band reflectivity and horizontal wind measurements collected by RASTA in the 3 h 3DVar assimilation system of AROME. The data assimilation experiments are conducted for a single heavy precipitation event and then also for 32 cases. Results indicate that the W-band reflectivity has a larger impact on the humidity, temperature and pressure fields in the analyses compared to the assimilation of RASTA wind data alone. Besides, the analyses get closer to independent humidity observations if the W-band reflectivity is assimilated alone or jointly with RASTA wind data. Nonetheless, the impact of the W-band reflectivity decreases more rapidly as the forecast range increases when compared to the assimilation of RASTA wind data alone. Generally, the joint assimilation of the W-band reflectivity with wind data results in the best improvement in the rainfall precipitation forecasts. Consequently, results of this study indicate that consistent thermodynamic and dynamic cloud conditions in the analysis leads to an improvement of both model initial conditions and forecasts. Even though to a lesser extent, the assimilation of the W-band reflectivity alone also results in a slight improvement of the rainfall precipitation forecasts.

A síntese de estruturas envolvendo o carbono, de um modo geral, necessitam de energia considerável para a sua formação. Neste artigo, os autores empregaram uma cavidade ressonante cilíndrica que excita o modo dominante transversal elétrico TE111, no qual as ondas superficiais que transportam energia atingem níveis de até 100 W/m3sr. Como fonte de energia, foi utilizado o magnetron, responsável pela geração das micro-ondas, necessárias para formação de plasma em pressão atmosférica, no interior da cavidade. Os resultados obtidos, verificados via Raman e microscopia eletrônica de varredura, foram bastante satisfatórios, uma vez que, foi possível sintetizar, a partir do plasma, desde nanotubos de carbono, esferas de carbono, e o diamante hexagonal. Na formação dessas estruturas foi utilizado o álcool isopropílico, como fonte de carbono, o arame galvanizado, como catalisador e a energia proveniente do plasma. As condições de processo são controladas através da temperatura de um calorímetro, onde é mantido o álcool isopropílico, entre 4ºC e 15ºC, resultando em diferentes estruturas. Portanto, a utilização de uma cavidade ressonante cilíndrica, tendo as micro-ondas como fonte de energia, abre caminhos na síntese de diversas estruturas envolvendo o carbono.

A geração de energia elétrica a partir de dejetos orgânicos da agropecuária ainda é muito incipiente no Brasil. Diante disso, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a viabilidade técnica da utilização de um conjunto motor gerador, monofásico de 30 kVA, para geração de energia elétrica, por meio da combustão do biogás purificado. Utilizaram-se três processos físicos e químicos de remoção do sulfeto de hidrogênio: Filtragem via úmida (0,1 m3 de H2O mais 20 kg de CaO e 10 kg de carvão vegetal); filtragem via seca (50 kg de arame liso recozido no 06 e 10 kg de carvão vegetal); filtragem em série (filtragem via úmida seguido da filtragem via seca) com os recheios dos filtros nas mesmas proporções. Avaliou-se o desempenho do conjunto motor gerador em função do tempo de funcionamento. Com base nos resultados, pode-se concluir que os sistemas de filtragem, em média, reduziram as emissões de CH4 e SO2 do conjunto motor gerador e mantiveram constantes as emissões de H2S. A filtragem via úmida com hidróxido de cálcio possibilitou o maior rendimento teórico e observado do conjunto motor gerador, que foi de 29% e 12%, respectivamente.

Le mépris, assorti de l’ironie et d’un sens féroce de la polémique, apparaît alors comme une arme de choix pour disqualifier l’adversaire et se construire simultanément une stature morale. Ce sont ces mécanismes que l’on tentera de cerner à travers les discours publics de Victor Hugo, son œuvre littéraire et ses dessins. On s’attachera à mettre en évidence les stratégies à l’œuvre dans ces combats : l’attaque ad hominem et l’atteinte physique ; les procédés de monstration et d’exhibition par lesquels le poète soumet ces cibles à l’opprobre public ; les procédés de reductio ad absurdum des raisonnements de l’adversaire, vidés de sens et ridiculisés.

AbstractModelling the rare but high-impact Mediterranean Heavy Precipitation Events (HPEs) at climate scale remains a largely open scientific challenge. The issue is adressed here by running a 38-year-long continuous simulation of the CNRM-AROME Convection-Permitting Regional Climate Model (CP-RCM) at a 2.5 km horizontal resolution and over a large pan-Alpine domain. First, the simulation is evaluated through a basic Eulerian statistical approach via a comparison with selected high spatial and temporal resolution observational datasets. Northwestern Mediterranean fall extreme precipitation is correctly represented by CNRM-AROME at a daily scale and even better at an hourly scale, in terms of location, intensity, frequency and interannual variability, despite an underestimation of daily and hourly highest intensities above 200 mm/day and 40 mm/h, respectively. A comparison of the CP-RCM with its forcing convection-parameterised 12.5 km Regional Climate Model (RCM) demonstrates a clear added value for the CP-RCM, confirming previous studies. Secondly, an object-oriented Lagrangian approach is proposed with the implementation of a precipitating system detection and tracking algorithm, applied to the model and the reference COMEPHORE precipitation dataset for twenty fall seasons. Using French Mediterranean HPEs as objects, CNRM-AROME’s ability to represent the main characteristics of fall convective systems and tracks is highlighted in terms of number, intensity, area, duration, velocity and severity. Further, the model is able to simulate long-lasting and severe extreme fall events similar to observations. However, it fails to reproduce the precipitating systems and tracks with the highest intensities (maximum intensities above 40 mm/h) well, and the model’s tendency to overestimate the cell size increases with intensity.

Abstract. The western Mediterranean Sea area is frequently affected in autumn by heavy precipitation events (HPEs). These severe meteorological episodes, characterized by strong offshore low-level winds and heavy rain in a short period of time, can lead to severe flooding and wave-submersion events. This study aims to progress towards an integrated short-range forecast system via coupled modeling for a better representation of the processes at the air–sea interface. In order to identify and quantify the coupling impacts, coupled ocean–atmosphere–wave simulations were performed for a HPE that occurred between 12 and 14 October 2016 in the south of France. The experiment using the coupled AROME-NEMO-WaveWatchIII system was notably compared to atmosphere-only, coupled atmosphere–wave and ocean–atmosphere simulations. The results showed that the HPE fine-scale forecast is sensitive to both couplings: the interactive coupling with the ocean leads to significant changes in the heat and moisture supply of the HPE that intensify the convective systems, while coupling with a wave model mainly leads to changes in the low-level dynamics, affecting the location of the convergence that triggers convection over the sea. Result analysis of this first case study with the AROME-NEMO-WaveWatchIII system does not clearly show major changes in the forecasts with coupling and highlights some attention points to follow (ocean initialization notably). Nonetheless, it illustrates the higher realism and potential benefits of kilometer-scale coupled numerical weather prediction systems, in particular in the case of severe weather events over the sea and/or in coastal areas, and shows their affordability to confidently progress towards operational coupled forecasts.

A análise das regiões de soldagem em revestimento, principalmente nas sobreposições de cordões, é de suma importância. Essas regiões apresentam muitas vezes comportamento diferente na zona sobreposta, apresentando uma região as vezes refundida, como também ausência de uma agitação adequada para revestir o material menos nobre, surgindo as zonas parcialmente diluídas (ZPD), que são regiões que alteram a dureza e características dos materiais, sendo normalmente regiões de nucleação e propagação de trincas, problemas catastróficos quando visto no revestimento. Com isso, torna-se necessário estudos que visam analisar as ZPD. A adequação dos parâmetros de soldagem e ajuste do processo pode reduzir ou tornar não presente essas zonas. Por meio de soldagem TIG-P com adição de arame frio (AWS A5.9 ER385), em substrato de ASTM A36, com tecimento, foram analisadas as regiões nas zonas sobrepostas, na sobreposição horizontal de dois cordões. Notou-se uma maior dureza nas zonas sobrepostas, analisados por meio do uso de perfil vertical de microdureza, e a presença de zonas parcialmente diluídas do tipo praia e ilha. O estudo serviu para o melhor entendimentos dessas regiões sobrepostas dos cordões aplicados a revestimento, com dois materiais dissimilares à base de ferro pouco visto na literatura.

Parfois stigmatisé par certains gouverneurs militaires servant dans la péninsule, le service de la gendarmerie d’Espagne n’en a pas moins été éprouvant pour les corps et les âmes. Les 900 gendarmes décédés par-delà les Pyrénées font de la guerre d’Espagne la campagne napoléonienne la plus meurtrière pour la gendarmerie. Avec la moitié de leurs pertes concédée au feu, les escadrons sont plus sévèrement frappés que le reste des armées impériales, infirmant l’image d’Épinal d’une arme exclusivement destinée à réprimer les excès de la soldatesque en campagne. L’étude de la mortalité permet de faire apparaître la précarisation matérielle des militaires de l’Arme – notamment des sous-officiers, gradés et gendarmes –, mais aussi l’aguerrissement des insurgés, la montée en puissance de leur armement et le recul de l’influence française dans la péninsule. Au final, bien plus qu’un simple aspect comptable et statistique, l’analyse de la mortalité des escadrons d’Espagne s’impose comme un formidable révélateur des conditions de vie et des évolutions d’un conflit.

This article investigates the rise of urban policing of itinerant poor in the Northern Low Countries in the late medieval period. Practices of prosecution show important variations between cities (selected cases are Deventer, Kampen, Haarlem and Gouda), both in chronology and compared to urban bylaws and other regulations, such as the 1531 edict issued by Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. A combination of external factors such as war, conflict, dearth, disease and the socio-political ambitions of urban authorities were at play and could lead to regionally different outcomes. In the course of this process, we see the complex making of vagrancy as a social and legal category to negotiate the reality of a highly mobile society, with a major impact on the attitudes towards itinerant poor and on the latter’s lives. Dit artikel bestudeert het ontstaan van maatregelen rondom arme migranten in vier steden in de Noordelijke Nederlanden tijdens de Late Middeleeuwen, namelijk Deventer, Kampen, Haarlem en Gouda. Het onderzoek naar hoe deze vervolging van rondtrekkende armen in deze steden in de praktijk werd gebracht, legt belangrijke verschillen bloot wat betreft de chronologie van de maatregelen, alsook in vergelijking met de stedelijke verordeningen en andere voorschriften, zoals het edict van Keizer Karel V uit 1531. Een combinatie van externe factoren, zoals oorlog, conflict, voedselschaarste en ziekte, en interne sociaal-politieke ambities van stedelijke autoriteiten, was bepalend voor deze verschillen. De bestudeerde maatregelen demonstreren de complexe totstandkoming van landloperij als een sociale en juridische categorie, die door lokale autoriteiten werd gebruikt om controle te behouden over een zeer mobiele samenleving. O processo de revestimento, seja para proteção mecânica, corrosiva, ou para obtenção de dimensões finais desejadas, é uma técnica difundida e de grande aplicação no cenário atual. A tecnologia da soldagem cresce, e com ela surgem novos processos de soldagem que buscam um controle acurado das características morfológicas do cordão de solda, aliado ao benefício de suas propriedades metalúrgicas, que para revestimento, se destaca a diluição, bem como homogeneidade de sua estrutura. Entretanto, além de estudos de processos de soldagem que buscam diminuir o aporte térmico, com o objetivo de reduzir a diluição e distorções geométricas, surgem pesquisas de metais de adição com boas propriedades, baixo custo, aliados a metais de base cada vez mais leves, em detrimento de sua espessura. Somado a isso, a aplicação de métodos estatísticos, como Metodologia de Superfície de Resposta (MSR) e Box-Behnken (BBD), são ferramentais fundamentais para, além de contornar a problemática da crescente sofisticação dos processos e requisitos dos projetos, buscar a otimização do processo, reduzindo custo e tempo e orientando na tomada de decisão final. Nesse contexto, foi proposto com o trabalho, a aplicação BBD, e otimização em soldagem MIG/MAG – PV via método “desejabilidade” empregando como metal de adição AWS A5.9 ER385 (análogo ao AISI 904L) em posição (1G) sobre superfície livre (bead-on-plate) em substrato aço-carbono ASTM A36 de 6,35 mm de espessura. Os resultados mostraram possível a aplicação do processo, uma vez que apresentou boa morfologia do cordão em conjunto com diluição mínima de 1,27 %. Ainda, os valores de altura máxima de 5,13 mm e largura máxima de 20,54 mm, com erros de 8,8 % para otimização de altura e 13,72 % de Ar o creditam com elevado potencial para aplicação com apenas uma camada, reduzindo custo e tempo no processo de revestimento.

After the Second World War, an ambitious fish farming project was set up in the Congo by the Belgian colonial government on the basis of scientific reports indicating the state of fish resources. The aim was to feed the indigenous population, especially in rural areas considered to be the poorest, and to make economic production profitable, which could contribute to the well-being of the Congolese workers. By placing this project in the long history of sustainability, this article presents the main economic and socio-environmental issues regarding food and the use of fish resources that drove this project, as well as the measures put in place by the authorities associated with the experts to respond to them. The last part provides and discusses arguments that allow for the evaluation of the extent to which the fish farming project met the conditions of interconnected economic, social and environmental sustainability, as defined by the concept of sustainable development. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog ontwikkelde de Belgische koloniale overheid in Congo een ambitieus viskweekproject op basis van wetenschappelijke rapporten over het welzijn van de visbestanden. Het doel was de lokale bevolking van met name de arme plattelandsgebieden te voeden, de economie rendabel te maken en het welzijn van de Congolese arbeiders te verhogen. Door dit project in de lange geschiedenis van duurzaamheid te plaatsen, presenteert dit artikel de belangrijkste economische, sociale en ecologische problemen die aan de basis van dit project lagen en de maatregelen die experts en autoriteiten hiervoor voorstelden en namen. In de laatste paragraaf wordt beoordeeld in welke mate het viskweekproject voldeed aan het ideaal van duurzame ontwikkeling, waarbinnen economische, sociale en ecologische dimensies van duurzaamheid als onderling samenhangend worden gedefinieerd.

Introduction La surveillance des inégalités en santé vient en soutien aux politiques destinées à réduire ces inégalités tôt dans la vie. Notre étude visait à examiner l’évolution des inégalités dans six domaines de la santé en fonction du genre et du statut socioéconomique. Méthodologie Les données proviennent de cinq cycles quadriennaux de l’Enquête sur les comportements de santé des jeunes d’âge scolaire (Enquête HBSC) menée au Canada (échantillon groupé : 94 887 participants). Les différences sur le plan de la santé en fonction du statut socioéconomique (d’après la défavorisation matérielle) et du genre ont été évaluées à l’aide d’indices relatifs et de pente d’inégalité dans six domaines de la santé : activité physique quotidienne, surplus de poids, symptômes physiques fréquents, symptômes psychologiques fréquents, faible satisfaction à l’égard de la vie et état de santé auto‑évalué comme passable ou médiocre. Résultats En 16 ans, l’état de santé déclaré par les adolescents du Canada s’est graduellement détérioré dans quatre domaines de la santé, les déclins les plus marqués ayant été constatés dans le groupe socioéconomique le plus défavorisé. Les différences selon le statut socioéconomique se sont accentuées sur le plan du surplus de poids, des symptômes physiques, de la faible satisfaction à l’égard de la vie et d’un état de santé passable ou médiocre. Les différences selon le genre se sont aussi approfondies. L’état de santé des filles était moins bon que celui des garçons dans tous les domaines sauf celui du surplus de poids, et les différences selon le genre ont augmenté au fil du temps sur le plan des symptômes physiques, des symptômes psychologiques et de la faible satisfaction à l’égard de la vie. Conclusion Les inégalités liées au genre et au statut socioéconomique sont persistantes et elles se creusent chez les adolescents au Canada. Mettre en place des mesures est nécessaire pour s’attaquer aux facteurs matériels et sociaux qui contribuent aux inégalités en santé durant l’adolescence.

Die Behandlung der chronischen Pankreatitis ist stadiengerecht und beinhaltet mehrere Arme: Schmerztherapie, wenn möglich je nach Pathogenese der Schmerzen; Therapie der Komplikationen, wenn möglich interventionell endoskopisch, bei Versagen chirurgisch; Therapie der exokrinen Insuffizienz mit Pankreatin; Therapie der endokrinen Insuffizienz mit Insulin. Pseudozysten lassen sich je nach Lage transgastral, transduodenal, transpapillär, perkutan drainieren. Distale präpapilläre Pankreasgangstenosen lassen sich mittels Stents überbrücken, ebenso Gallengangsstenosen. Pankreasgangsteine, die zu einer Obstruktion führen, lassen sich mittels extrakorporal applizierter Schockwellen (ESWL) lithotripsieren und nach Papillotomie endoskopisch extrahieren. Transgastrale endoskopische Drainage von retroperitonealen Nekrosen ist noch experimentell. Prospektive Multicenter-Vergleichsstudien Operation versus interventionelle Endoskopie liegen noch nicht vor. Bei Versagen der endoskopischen Therapie oder bei Karzinomverdacht besteht die Indikation zur Operation. Eine spezifische Pankreasdiät existiert nicht. Beim schweren akuten Schub setzt sich zunehmend die enterale Ernährung via Jejunalsonde durch, obgleich überzeugende prospektive Vergleichsstudien parenterale versus enterale Ernährung noch fehlen. Auch der prophylaktische Einsatz von Antibiotika bei nekrotisierender Pankreatitis wird wieder kontrovers diskutiert. Bezüglich des Einsatzes von Probiotika zur Reduktion der Gefahr einer bakteriellen Besiedlung der Nekrosen liegen ebenfalls noch keine überzeugenden Studien vor. Die Hypothese mittels Radikalfängern wie Selen, die Schubfrequenz bei chronischer Pankreatitis zu reduzieren ist ebenfalls nicht durch Studien belegt.

O estudo das características geométricas e morfológicas do cordão de solda é de fundamental importância para que se busque uma aplicação visando um revestimento de qualidade, com o objetivo de reduzir custos e aumentar produtividade, muitas vezes. Para tanto, torna-se necessário avaliar condições e parâmetros que objetivem aumentar a área de reforço e reduzir a diluição, da mesma forma em que resultem na correta combinação da altura de reforço com a largura do cordão de revestimento depositado, fazendo com que se obtenha um índice de convexidade (h/l) e área de reforço projetada adequados para otimizar o passo entre os cordões e reduzir a sobreposição horizontal, sintetizando ao máximo a sobreposição vertical. O objetivo do estudo, utilizando da aplicação de projeto de experimento Box Behnken, foi analisar as características morfológicas e geométricas do cordão de solda, com base na largura e altura de reforço, bem como suas correlações com a área total da seção transversal em relação à diluição, afim de analisar e comparar a influência dos parâmetros na geometria do cordão mais adequada para o revestimento. Foi empregado cladding via processo TIG - P com tecimento em chapas de ASTM A36 depositados com arame frio de AWS A5.9 ER385 (análogo ao 904L). Os resultados mostraram uma relação direta da geometria do cordão frente a resposta, tanto da área total como também da diluição. Pode-se observar que quanto menor a diluição, maior a área total do cordão de solda e maior o índice de convexidade.

Abstract. A decision support system to aid in the risk evaluation of airborne animal diseases was developed for Ireland. The system's primary objective is to assist in risk evaluation of the airborne spread of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). The operational system was developed by Met Éireann – the Irish Meteorological Service and CVERA (Centre for Veterinary Epidemiology and Risk Analysis), in co-operation with NOAA-ARL (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration – Air Resources Laboratory) and ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts). The infrastructure largely relies on the HYSPLIT dispersion model driven by both ECMWF meteorological forecasts for longer range simulations, and HARMONIE-AROME meteorological forecasts, a high resolution local area meteorological model, ideal for shorter range national emissions. Following on from previous work by the Bureau of Meteorology, Australia as well as the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, further modifications were made to the HYSPLIT source code to improve the model's characterisation of the Foot and Mouth Disease virus. FMD is a highly infectious disease among cloven hoofed animals that can transmit via airborne means. Biological characteristics related to temperature, humidity, lifespan as well as atmospheric washout were all incorporated either through new or existing functionality of the dispersion model. Combining the model dispersion capabilities of HYSPLIT with a virus emission model and GIS mapping software with farmland zoning, the disease dispersion system becomes a powerful analysis and decision support tool. This airborne animal disease atmospheric dispersion system helps improve emergency preparedness, as well as aid confinement and eradication strategies for relevant Irish authorities, during a disease outbreak.

The authors of the monograph, reflecting in a liberal vein, discuss the trend in the modern education system at both the global and regional levels. In particular, we are talking about the fact that the advent and development of Internet technologies have created a new world – a new communicative space, which is characterized by a certain virtual unity. In this space, if we compare it with the classical educational systems, almost everything has changed, from programs and their focus to the participants in the educational process, the psychology of which has also changed. New technological approaches, the use of forms of online education, were able to make education more flexible and close to the consumer. At the same time, the mobility of educational systems made it possible to actively introduce them into the labor process, reaching the goal of staff development, which is especially necessary in the conditions of innovative development of the economy. In addition, the coverage of territories has expanded. Education in its various forms came to all types of settlements, encompassed poorly developed regions. Despite such an intensive development of educational technologies, a large number of problems remain associated with the pace of development of educational programs and the presence of regional specifics, which impedes the introduction of universal solutions. This gives the authors of the monograph reason to discuss the trends that characterize the modern world education system.

L’existence même d’une telle brigade spéciale en zone de guerre, le discours sur ce que représente le patrimoine culturel dans la vie des sociétés, sur la nécessité de préserver cet héritage, tous ces éléments continuent de retenir l’attention aujourd’hui. En cause, les destructions récentes d’oeuvres et de sites archéologiques majeurs dans des conflits actuels au Moyen-Orient et en Afrique, où le saccage devient une arme de guerre. En revisitant la genèse de ce film et sa mise au présent, il apparaît désormais que The Monuments Men aurait fait oeuvre utile.

Résumé Ilya Ehrenbourg a été un exemple parfait de composition artistique avec un régime politique, devenant ainsi l’écrivain soviétique par excellence. Partagé entre deux mondes, entre deux cultures et deux religions, il se choisit une foi, celle dans le socialisme, et un ennemi, le bourgeois, pour contrecarrer cette ambivalence identitaire. Dans sa première phase, c’est la critique du monde occidental qui lui permet de repousser les doutes de sa nature sceptique. Puis, la construction stalinienne des années 1930 lui offre un nouveau type d’écriture : celle de romans de production réalistes socialistes mettant en scène l’utopie d’un nouveau monde en devenir. Mais cette esthétique se révèle vite une impasse. La Seconde Guerre mondiale permet de revitaliser le conflit inhérent au récit avec l’apparition d’un nouvel ennemi bien déterminé : l’Allemand. Ses textes de cette époque, très diffusés et très lus, sont une violente exhortation à tuer l’ennemi, sans état d’âme. C’est encore le rôle de serviteur du régime que prend Ehrenbourg dans la dernière période de sa vie en illustrant littérairement la très relative libéralisation du Dégel. Ainsi Ehrenbourg aura-t-il choisi d’être lu et d’être utile : resté dans son pays malgré un régime qu’il n’accepte que partiellement mais dont il devient le porte-parole, il fait de l’écriture sa raison de vivre. La littérature-action est une arme pour lutter contre l’ennemi extérieur, mais aussi contre l’ennemi intérieur qui menace un moi fragile.

Charia Le terme désigne en arabe la « voie » à suivre, directement inspirée de la pratique du Prophète et du Coran. Dans les sociétés islamiques, elle réglemente la vie privée autant que l’espace public, et remplace toutes les formes de droit, jugées inférieures car étant créées par les hommes. Guide suprême Créé dans la Constitution de 1979 pour l’ayatollah Khomeyni, ce titre désigne le chef d’État iranien. Depuis sa mort en 1989, il ne fut porté que par son successeur, encore au pouvoir en 2023, Ali Khamenei. Il doit être un théologien chiite. Mojahedin du peuple Organisation armée, marxiste, nationaliste et islamiste, créée en 1965 contre le régime monarchique. Le mouvement joua un rôle important pendant la révolution, avant de s’opposer au régime de Khomeyni jusqu’à passer à l’ennemi lors de la guerre Iran-Irak. Il fut durement réprimé comme les autres partis de gauche ; 30 000 personnes furent exécutées en 1988. Il a été dirigé par Massoud Radjavi et demeure conduit en exil par son épouse, Maryam Radjavi, notamment depuis l’Albanie. Fatwa Entré dans le vocabulaire occidental à cause de celle lancée par Khomeyni le 14 février 1989 contre l’écrivain Salman Rushdie, après la publication de ses Versets sataniques et réclamant son exécution, ce terme désigne en arabe un avis juridique délivré par un jurisconsulte (mufti) . Basij Force paramilitaire iranienne, fondée en novembre 1979 par l’ayatollah Khomeyni. Pendant la guerre face à l’Irak, ces miliciens, souvent très jeunes et mal équipés (ils avaient parfois une arme pour deux), ont servi de force au sol et étaient appelés à mourir en martyr. Ils sont aujourd’hui plus de 10 millions, et jouent un rôle important dans le contrôle social de la population.

<p>L. Mavrommatis</p><p>Identité romaine, identité hellène (XIII-XIV s.) </p><p>L'étude des sources montre que les Byzantins revendiquaient l'identité romaine. Cette conception fut contestée par la Chrétienté Occidentale qui avait besoin de cette arme idéologique qu'offrait un lien direct avec l'ancien empire romain. Les Occidentaux imposaient aux Romains l'identité de Graeci/Γραικοί mais les intéressés ressentaient cette dénomination péjorative et humiliante car elle sousetendait leur soumission à l'hégémonisme du Saint-Siège et aux aspirations de l'Europe occidentale.</p><p>La perte du caractère multi-ethnique de l'empire offra, surtout à la classe dominante, une homogénéité axée sur trois éléments indivisibles: l'Orthodoxie, la langue hellène et le passé commun. Durant des derniers siècles de la vie de l'empire, les Romains n'hésitaient pas à employer le terme Ἕλληνες sans pour autant renoncer à l'identité romaine. Il s'agit d'un phénomène d'osmose entre les deux concepts, résultat d'une fermentation permanente due à la réalité quotidienne. Les trois éléments énoncés (langue, culture, passé) étaient des points de référence stables et omniprésents.</p>

(1978) pour les tests de différence et KRAMER (1956, 1974) pour les tests de classement. Ces dernières ont été remises en question par JOANES (1985) et SMITH (1985) préconise le test de FRIEDMAN. Les méthodes d'analyses multidimensionnelles (AC.P. et A.F.C.) permettent l'interprétation de dégustations descriptives (notation ou appréciation d'un vin sur plusieurs paramètres). Des exemples sont donnés pour développer l'utilisation de ces méthodes en oenologie.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">+++</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Statistics seem to be essential in a sensory valuation, not only to interpret the results but also to define the experimental protocol, to distribute samples in a balanced way, to avoid the effect of sytematic mistakes (SAUVAGEOT 81).</p><p style="text-align: justify;">A lot of authors proposed methods of calculs and tables: KRAMER (1956), KRAMER et al. (1974), ROESSLER et al. (1978), LARMOND (1969), TOMASSONE et FLANZY (1977).</p><p style="text-align: justify;">A. JOANES (1985) has just called in question again validity of KRAMER's tables (very used in œnology) it was important for us to present with few examples, some methods of interpretation of difference and preference tests.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">We especially use « duo trio and triangle tests ». The last one, more difficult, must be done with a expert panel. ROESSLER and al. (1978) proposed tables giving critical values (number of correct answers) at different probability levels.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">So we advise the FRIEDMAN's test; it's a non parametric method, with which you can know if one wine is different or not. Two wines are different if the difference between their rank sums is rank above a value determined with the NEWMAN's test.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">The descriptive tasting (appreciation of a wine with several variables: colour, arome intensity, sourness, bitterness...) give more informations.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Two methods of multidimensional analysis are proposed to take into account the entire information:</p><p style="text-align: justify;">- The principal components analysis if the results are presented as quantitative variables,</p><p style="text-align: justify;">- The correspondance analysis if the results are presented as qualitative variables.</p><p style="text-align: justify;">Examples of interpretations are proposed to develope the use of theses methods in œnology. That's easier with the introduction of the micro-computer.</p>

AbstractThe first Dutch book on P2P “Save the World” by Michel Bauwens had a good reception in Flanders. Even for the critics, the emerging way of ‘getting things done’ through global cooperation on “what is light” and re-localisation of “what is heavy” is making a lot of sense and is indeed the way to go. In this article, we examine two criticisms of the book: the feasibility of an unconditional basic income within the present system and the possibility to move gradually to a P2P society without “overthrowing” capitalism. Apart from the “low road” to peer-to-peer (after an economic collapse) and “the high road to peer-to-peer” (through neo-Keynesianism) a third way could open up, based on a reformed partner state facilitating peer production. Our conclusion is that under the present circumstances, with exponentially growing bottom-up initiatives, open source alternatives and the Internet as a new means of production, value creation and distribution, past failed experiences of ‘socialism in one country’ could today have more chances of succeeding on condition that a progressive government arms itself with a commons transitional plan. Such a transitional government would undoubtedly face many difficulties, but it would at least open the horizon for a better future. And it would certainly enjoy a wave of solidarity throughout the world. PODE O CAPITALISMO REFORMAR A SI PRÓPRIO E SE ENCAMINHAR PARA UMA SOCIEDADE P2P? ResumoO primeiro livro holandês sobre P2P “Save the World” de Michel Bauwens teve boa recepção em Flandres. Mesmo para os críticos, a nova forma de “conseguir fazer as coisas” através da cooperação sobre “o que é leve” e a relocalização de “o que é pesado” faz muito sentido e é, sem dúvida, o caminho a seguir. Neste artigo, analisamos duas críticas feitas ao livro: a viabilidade de renda básica incondicional dentro do sistema presente e a possibilidade de mudar gradualmente para uma sociedade P2P sem “derrubar” o Capitalismo.Além de uma “low road to peer-to-peer” (depois de um colapso econômico) e “the high road to peer-to-peer” (através do neo-keynesianismo) uma terceira via poderia ser aberta, baseada num estado parceiro reformado que facilitasse a produção do tipo “peer”. Concluímos assim que nas circunstâncias presentes, com iniciativas “bottom-up” crescendo exponencialmente, alternativas de código aberto e da Internet como novo meio de produção, criação e distribuição de valores, experiências falidas de 'socialismo em um só país' no passado poderiam agora ter mais chances de sucesso sob a condição de que um governo progressista se arme com um plano de transição dos comuns. Tal governo de transição poderia sem dúvida enfrentar muitas dificuldades, mas pelo menos abriria os horizontes para um futuro melhor. E certamente gozaria de uma onda de solidariedade no mundo inteiro.
