Abstract:
This research aimed to identify the extent to which the costs of intangible drilling affect oil extraction under strategic reserves. To achieve this objective, the research used the descriptive analytical approach. The research also used the questionnaire method, as a research instrument, where, (41) questionnaire forms were distributed to a random sample of employees working at the Sudapet Company- Sudan in 2021. Using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences program (SPSS). The research has reached, the fact that the end of service indemnity is expensive, which causes the company to incur a huge amount of money. The research has also reached the fact that roads need pavement, and modern machineries are very expensive. Needless to say, that machineries and equipment consume much fuel. The research, on the other hand, recommended the guarding of oil fields by the national army to prevent theft. The research also recommended the preparation of maps and geological survey, and the building of residences for experts and employees in the area of oil fields. This is in addition to remove the natural obstacles such as trees, and rocks that hinder the performance of machineries and equipment.

Abstract:
Abstract Continuous rock core was collected for 1764 m (5786’) on the Pohakuloa Army Training base near the center of the big island of Hawaii. The core traverses basaltic lava flows from the volcano's shield-building phase, and perched aquifers and higher temperature groundwaters were encountered. The collected samples record water-rock interactions of basaltic materials in a setting that may be a model for groundwater interactions on Mars. We collected visible and infrared point spectra of materials in the lowest portion of the core, where alteration was noted to become more prominent. We identified three types of phyllosilicate spectral signatures and three types of zeolites. The phyllosilicates show similarity to those identified on Mars using data from the Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars (CRISM). Based on the field survey, 25 depths were selected for sampling and petrographic analysis of thin sections. The spectral data and thin section work have a strong agreement in the types of materials identified by the two different techniques. Both the spectral and petrographic data indicate low to moderate temperature geothermal alteration occurred in the lower half of the core. The field spectra are a useful reconnaissance tool for selecting mineralogic diversity for subsequent higher resolution and more time-consuming laboratory analysis.

Abstract:
The state-of-the-art in airborne coastal mapping and charting technology is the Compact Hydrographic Airborne Rapid Total Survey (CHARTS) system. CHARTS is the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office program name for an Optech, Inc. SHOALS 3000T20-E. CHARTS comprises a 3 kHz bathymetric lidar, a 20 kHz topographic lidar, a DuncanTech DT4000 high-resolution digital camera, and a Compact Airborne Spectrographic Imager(CASI)-1500. The integrated sensor suite has the capability to collect lidar bathymetry, lidar topography, RGB imagery, and hyperspectral imagery. Beyond these products, the diffuse attenuation coefficient and seafloor reflectance at multiple wavelengths may be estimated by combining information from the bathymetric lidar waveform and the hyperspectral imagery. The Joint Airborne Lidar Bathymetry Technical Center of Expertise (JALBTCX) specified development of the CHARTS system and currently manages its operations for Department of Defense customers. CHARTS data collection rate of 21 square nautical miles per survey hour enables rapid completion of large nautical charting work for the U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers National Coastal Mapping Program uses CHARTS to collect engineering scale data for the entire U.S. coastline. JALBTCX continues to lead development in the field of airborne lidar and integrated technologies for coastal mapping and charting. Future research efforts include mining the individual data sets collected by CHARTS for information beyond elevation, combining data sets to further identify physical and environmental characteristics of the coastal zone, and integrating additional complementary sensors with CHARTS.

Abstract:
Technological advances have facilitated the ability of management to report finer sets of information in narrower time intervals (Kogan et al. 1999). Real-time reports are crucial for managerial decision making at all levels in a firm. The economic and technological feasibility of more frequent reporting has received increasing attention from the accounting profession and regulatory authorities. We attempt to shed light on the feasibility and receptiveness at the company level of more frequent financial reporting via a field study and a survey. Three publicly traded firms participated in our field study. The findings of our field study helped guide us in the development of our survey instrument. We used the survey instrument to examine our research questions. Our study expands the literature by (1) examining in-company accounting professionals' receptiveness toward availability of income statement or balance sheet accounts to external users on a more frequent basis than quarterly, (2) exploring factors (i.e., perceived usefulness, benefits/costs, economic reality, competitive disadvantage, and liability exposure) that affect in-company accounting professionals' receptiveness toward more frequent reporting, and (3) obtaining insights from in-company IT professionals on the technological feasibility of more frequent reporting (and comparing this finding with insights obtained from in-company accounting professionals).

Abstract:
The Russian invasion of Ukraine highlights the importance of strengthening combat readiness in the military. The purpose of this study was to devise a policy implementation that can ensure the appropriateness of the evaluation using the improvement elements of the current combat readiness evaluation in the Korean Army. To do so, the acts and regulations of combat readiness assessment and application cases in field units were analyzed, and the necessary improvements of elements were derived by collecting expert opinions using a Delphi survey. The analysis revealed that the weights for each evaluation element through the analytic hierarchy process survey were presented to assess the quantitative elements (troops, equipment, supplies, and competency) at the C-level, and the use of a judgment process was suggested to assist the commander in reasonably determining the level of qualitative evaluation factors when evaluating the grade (final decision of the level of combat readiness of the unit) at the mission assessment (MA-level). The results of this study can be applied to the assessment of combat readiness level to identify the poor elements of the field units objectively and report them accurately to the upper unit. Future, research must study topics related to the elaboration of assessment elements that can ensure the accuracy and reliability of the evaluation of combat readiness in terms of organizational competency development.

Abstract:
<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> In Japan, the political system was changed greatly and new Meiji government under Meiji Emperor was born in 1868. Meiji government made great efforts to modernize Japan to hold its independence, hiring many professionals from the western advanced countries, sending many students to the western advanced countries, establishing obligatory education system, and so on.</p><p>It invited French military mission to modernize its army. The mission arrived in Japan in 1872 and stayed until 1880 changing its members. It included engineer officers as follows: Engineer captain Albert Jourdan (1872&amp;ndash;1878), Engineer captain Ernest Vieillard (1873&amp;ndash;1876), Engineer lieutenant captain Lucian Kreitmann (1876-1888) and two other engineer officers succeed until 1880. They worked fundamentally as the teachers of engineering including survey and mapping. Jourdan had additional works as Coast Defense plan and military construction such as Military School.</p><p> Jourdan participated in the Japan Coast Defense Planning Mission headed by French mission chief and ordered by the Army Minister,Yamagata. Coast Defense Plan maps were drawn for Kagosima Bay, Hakodate Bay, Tsuruga Bay, etc. Japanese officers of the General Staff Bureau engaged in making base maps for planning and supported the Mission in the field. The mapping technology would be transferred to the Japanese officers on the job.</p><p>The French Mission members began various military educations in 1872. TIZU SAISIKI (Map Color Rule) was published in 1873, which was translated book by Tomohiro Kosuge (later, the founder and the first director of Japan Land Survey) and others from a French map book brought by Jourdan. Jourdan and Vieillard taught military engineering, based on the textbooks 1855 for French engineer regimental schools, which were translated by T. Kosuge and others and published as KOUHEI SOUTEN (Manual for Military Engineers) including Survey Division in 1873&amp;ndash;1875.</p><p>In 1875, Grand Military Field Exercise was held in Narashinohara near Tokyo, when the field was surveyed at 1/10,000 scale with six plane table teams including T. Kosuge directed by E. Vieillard and a map was compiled and published next year.</p><p>In 1876, the first three textbooks on mapping of the Military School were printed ; SOKUTI KOUHON (Land Survey Textbook), TIRIZUGAKU KOUHON (Topography Textbook) and SOKUTI KANHOU (Rapid Survey Method in the Military School. The former two were Kreitmann’s lecture records and the last one was translated book of a textbook of French Artillery and Engineering Application School Military Field Exercise was held in Narashinohara, when the field was surveyed with plane table method at 1/20,000 scale by the Military School pupils directed by L. Kreitmann. The compiled map was printed next year in the Military School.</p><p>In 1877, Seinan Civil War occurred in Kyushu Islan. Rapid survey maps were drawn by the members of the Survey Division of the Army Ministry. After the war, military field exercise was held in Shimoshidzu, when the field was surveyed with plane table method at 1/20,000 scale by the Military School pupils directed by L. Kreitmann. The compiled map was printed next year in the Military School.</p><p>In 1879, T. Kosuge was nominated to the head of the Survey Division, General Staff Office. He presented his second opinion, “Rapid Survey Plan of the Whole County “ without triangulation which remained as the object of study to the head of the General Staff Office and this plan was accepted.</p><p>In 1880 following the “Rapid Survey Plan”, the rapid survey began with plane table method at 1/20,000 scale in Kanto metropolitan area on a large scale.</p><p>In 1881, according the comparison of the results of the normal triangulation and the graphical triangulation on the plane table, it was concluded that the former should be adopted for the whole country control point survey and that the survey system and organization should be changed.</p><p>In 1889, Army Land Survey was founded by T. Kosuge following the model of Prussian Land Survey, Germany and the first director was T. Kosuge. However, KOUHEI SOUTEN (Manual for Military Engineers) Second Edition, Survey Division was published, translated from the textbook 1883 for the French Engineer Regimental School.</p>

Abstract:
Changing flight tactics and increased use of Night Vision Goggles (NVGs) has focused attention on the limited Field of View (FOV) of the Army UH-60A Black Hawk Helicopter. To improve the FOV in the next generation Black Hawk, the U.S. Army tasked an independent contractor to investigate the problem and propose alternatives. The study involved a comprehensive review of Army requirement documents, existing FOV studies, and accident data. Close attention was given to dynamic flight characteristics that affect FOV. Also, the study team collected technical data related to military rotary wing design, administered a survey to pilots; and interviewed users and other technical experts. The study revealed the current UH-60A design meets the requirements of MIL-STD-850B under static conditions. The only exception is the obstructed view that the door and windshield vertical structures create. However, under dynamic conditions the UH-60A cockpit design and normal flight characteristics substantially reduce the FOV in critical areas. The study produced eleven options that can improve and/or enhance the next generation Black Hawk's FOV if incorporated into the new design. Each option is presented and discussed.

Abstract:
A gravity survey was conducted over the Garber field in 1939 to ascertain if a gravity anomaly was associated with the Garber structure. Gravity station spacing was 805 m (2640 ft) on a 1609 m (1 mile) grid. I was party chief of the gravity survey which was terminated, prior to completion, because a gravity anomaly was not recognized by the client company. I was not satisfied with this decision and returned to the Garber field in 1950, to conduct an experiment to determine if closer station spacing would disclose a gravity anomaly over the Garber structure. I used gravity station spacing of 201 m (660 ft) on a 402 m (1320 ft) grid. This gravity station spacing was considered a microgravity survey in 1950.

Abstract:
Purpose – Study samples, having responded to similar survey content, allowed examination of suicide risk factors for deployed soldiers relative to nondeployed or home station soldiers. Specific research questions addressed by this study are: First, what is the prevalence of suicidal behaviors among Army National Guard (ARNG) soldiers – deployed or not, and how do these rates compare with known US national and international rates? Second, what are stressful life events associated with suicidal risk? How do these compare between deployed and nondeployed soldiers? Third, what specifically about combat exposure makes soldiers at risk for suicide? And fourth, is there any evidence of stress-buffering effect between risk factors and suicidal behaviors? The paper aims to discuss these issues. Design/methodology/approach – Three data sources were used. First, the responding sample for the Unit Risk Inventory consisted of 180 company-sized units with a total of 12,567 responding soldiers. Second, the responding sample for the Unit Risk Inventory-Reintegration consisted of 50 company-sized units with a total of 4,567 soldiers. The third data source was all ARNG suicides for calendar years 2007 through 2012. For each calendar year, a random sample of 1,000 ARNG soldiers was drawn to represent nonsuicides. This resulted in a study sample size of 6,523, including the 523 suicides for the years 2007 through 2012 plus 1,000 nonsuicide cases for each calendar year. Findings – Prevalence of suicidal behaviors among soldiers was higher (for thoughts, plans, and attempts, respectively, 4-6, 1.3-2.2, and 0.7-0.08 percent) than among civilian populations (respectively, 2.6, 0.7, and 0.4 percent). Risk was highest among home station than deployed soldiers. Stressful life events associated with suicide risk included personal feelings of loneliness, anger, and frustration, followed by interpersonal behavioral problems, such as aggressive behavior toward a significant other and having committed a crime. Also evident are the beneficial effects (as a main effect and buffering effect) of feelings of cohesiveness, quality leaderships, and job satisfaction on suicidal behaviors. Research limitations/implications – Findings here were consistent with the stressor-strain hypothesis. Stressful life events were associated with suicide risk, especially, personal feelings of loneliness, anger, and frustration, followed by interpersonal behavioral problems, such as aggressive behavior toward a significant other and having committed a crime. Evident, too, were the beneficial effects of feelings of cohesiveness, quality leaderships, and job satisfaction on suicidal behaviors. Soldiers reporting these events were less likely to report suicidal behaviors and social support lessened the cumulative effect of risk factors on suicidal behaviors. Given these findings, it seems that suicide risk in the military is not uniquely different from that observed in civilian populations. The higher prevalence of suicides in the military likely has to do with proportionally more individuals who have historically shown to be at risk for suicide, namely, young males. Practical implications – Strong association of individual-level attributes with suicidal behaviors, such as age, gender, and race, suggest individual-level vulnerability to suicidal behaviors. This expectation is consistent with the stress/suicide vulnerability theory (Bryan, 2014; Nock et al., 2013). Such vulnerabilities may include negative affectivity (one of the Big Five personality dimensions) and early childhood trauma to suicidal behaviors (Griffith, 2012a, 2014). Social implications – Suicide, related constructs, and their underlying processes need to be further examined in future research. Their understanding would be useful in screening individuals most at risk for suicidal behaviors, with referral and treatment, if needed. Practically, such vulnerabilities in relation to what specific experiences could be determined, potentially describing which individuals are suited best to adapt to which environments. Originality/value – There has been much research on the increased suicides in the military, and to date, studies have focussed primarily on traumatic events, such as, deployments and combat exposure associated with suicidal behaviors. Yet, studies have almost exclusively examined the combat-suicide connection without reference to suicide risk factors among nondeployed or home station soldiers. This study fills this gap by examining survey responses to standardized questionnaires administered to ARNG soldiers during calendar year 2010 – one sample of deployed units either to Iraq or to Afghanistan and another sample of nondeployed or home station units.

Abstract Today, sharing knowledge requires taking into account many aspects. Variable environmental conditions, the people factor, and the security of resources are just a few that should be considered for a noticeable improvement in the functioning of the company. Supporting this course of action requires the identification of all barriers that may exist in the enterprise. Only the owner and senior management by establishing system and organizational changes can influence this element of the business. The aim of the article is to indicate the problems in this respect that block the proper functioning of the company in the field of information and knowledge exchange. The survey was conducted with the help of a questionnaire among 189 respondents. The industry has significantly decreased in the last few decades, currently there are 307 companies operating in Poland. Conclusions from the conducted research were collected on the basis of a questionnaire survey. The further stage of the research will be to compare the collected results with the results from Western European countries.

Abstract:
The U.S. Army is forging a digital communication system for combat vehicles as we enter the Information Age. Justification for this investment assumes it will improve soldier and unit performance. This evaluation assessed the performance of an armor battalion equipped with digital command, control and communication systems that vertically linked its platoon, company and battalion echelons in distributed interactive simulation. Participants included 210 soldiers in duty assignments that included a fully-manned, point platoon operating under company and battalion level commanders. Findings indicated that digital communication systems can provide significant improvements, over voice-only communications, on some important measures tested under an armor battalion's maneuver functions: move on the surface, navigate, process direct fire targets, and engage direct fire targets. The evaluation's method provides an example of how soldier-in-the-loop simulation can efficiently assess performance improvements anticipated from technologies such as digital communication systems, prior to critical but costly field evaluation.

Abstract:
Thomas Blood was born in Sarney, county Meath in Ireland around the year 1618. The circumstances surrounding his early life are obscure but his father was said to have been a blacksmith and ironworker of ‘no inferior credit’. Blood's first real appearance in the historical record occurs during the survey taken in Ireland in the period 1654–6. In this he is listed as a protestant who had owned some 220 acres of land at Sarney since at least 1640. In between these dates, however, Blood had evidently undertaken some sort of military service. The evidence concerning this military service is both slight and contradictory and there is at least the possibility that his later claims about an army career were partly bogus, or certainly inflated to suit his particular company.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT We analyze survey responses from nearly 600 corporate tax executives to investigate firms' incentives and disincentives for tax planning. While many researchers hypothesize that reputational concerns affect the degree to which managers engage in tax planning, this hypothesis is difficult to test with archival data. Our survey allows us to investigate reputational influences and, indeed, we find that reputational concerns are important—69 percent of executives rate reputation as important and the factor ranks second in order of importance among all factors explaining why firms do not adopt a potential tax planning strategy. We also find that financial accounting incentives play a role. For example, 84 percent of publicly traded firms respond that top management at their company cares at least as much about the GAAP ETR as they do about cash taxes paid and 57 percent of public firms say that increasing earnings per share is an important outcome from a tax planning strategy. JEL Classifications: D83; G31, M41. Data Availability: Survey responses are confidential. Other data are available from public sources identified in the paper.

Abstract:
Tree work has a high accident rate compared to many other occupations. News accounts of recent accidents can be easily accessed through the internet, though this may not provide a true picture of the number and types of accidents occurring. U.S. government bureaus and agencies have produced reports citing the number and circumstances of fatal accidents in the profession. The government’s information is obtained from many sources and may not accurately identify types or frequency of these accidents. A survey of the accidents and safety training among tree care companies was conducted using a mail questionnaire based on the Tailored Design Method. The company managers responding to the survey overwhelming identified having trained field workers as very important yet only about two-thirds of their companies conducted any training. The training most often conducted was on aerial lifts, chain saws, and chipper, which was provided by company employees in a field setting. Driver’s training was not part of a formal safety program for most of the companies. Aerial rescue was practiced by about one-fourth of the surveyed companies. The most common fatal accidents involved contact with an electrical conductor followed by being struck by a falling limb. The relative number of fatal accidents by event or exposure in this survey was similar to that identified by two federal government reports on fatal accident in the field.

Abstract:
Abstract We measure the host galaxy properties of five quasars with z ∼ 1.6–3.5 selected from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and AEGIS, which fall within the JWST/Hubble Space Telescope (HST) CEERS survey area. A point-spread function library is constructed based on stars in the full field of view of the data and used with the 2D image modeling tool galight to decompose the quasar and its host with multiband filters available for HST ACS+WFC3 and JWST NIRCAM (12 filters covering HST F606W to JWST F444W). As demonstrated, JWST provides the first capability to detect quasar hosts at z > 3 and enables spatially resolved studies of the underlying stellar populations at z ∼ 2 within morphological structures (spiral arms, bar) not possible with HST. Overall, we find quasar hosts to be disk-like, lack merger signatures, and have sizes generally more compact than typical star-forming galaxies at their respective stellar mass, thus in agreement with results at lower redshifts. The fortuitous face-on orientation of SDSSJ1420+5300A at z = 1.646 enables us to find higher star formation and younger ages in the central 2–4 kpc region relative to the outskirts, which may help explain the relatively compact nature of quasar hosts and pose a challenge to active galactic nucleus feedback models.

Abstract:
The features of the brand formation of an entertainment company with the help of social media are considered on the example of the Jump Town trampoline park in Vladivostok. The study revealed the problem of inconsistency between brand identification (the opinion that the company plans to form in the minds of consumers of its services) and brand image (the existing image of the brand in the minds of consumers). The results of the field study of the formation of the Jump Town trampoline park brand (in the form of a survey) made it possible to assess the formed image of the company at the present time and develop a set of proposals to overcome the gap that has arisen. The presented methodological approach to the development of proposals for the formation of a brand of an entertainment company includes the research process, the structure of the questionnaire and the technology for processing survey results in a static package. The proposed technology for processing survey results in a statistical package makes it possible to test the hypotheses put forward using frequency and factor analysis. The results obtained made it possible to single out three segments of visitors and determine the list of brand attributes that are most important for each of them. The conclusions and results of the study are of practical interest for planning activities to build a brand for an entertainment company

Abstract:
The onboard training environment is important for the continuity of cadets’ maritime careers and for the wider industry. Various studies have been conducted with the aim of improving the onboard training environment of cadets in various respects including education, health and safety, and sexual harassment. However, there is a lack of research that details the problems associated with onboard training and how the safety of cadets is managed in the field. Descriptive and non-parametric statistics were used to analyze the data from 284 cadets from maritime universities and 41 shipping company employees in South Korea collected between March and July 2020. The results show that many cadets are not guaranteed enough rest time and the provision of personal protective equipment. In addition, some companies consider cadets to be crew members or temporary workers. To improve the training environment, recommendations include the evaluation of the ship’s environment to establish whether it is suitable for training, constant monitoring of whether the onboard training guidelines are maintained in the field, strengthening of preventive education on human rights violations, and expanding efforts continuously not only to physically improve the onboard training environment but systematically manage cadets as students.

Abstract:
This study focuses on the validation of load profile and energy usage of Itie-Ikpe, a rural community located in the southern part of Nigeria, for the purpose of designing sustainable optimal hybrid renewable energy systems. A two-year monthly estimated load profile data was obtained from an energy distribution company, monthly averages and overall annual daily load demand of 557.59 kWh/d were determined using mathematical method while a field survey was conducted to obtain the actual load demand figure 562.25 kWh/d for the study community with a difference of 4.66 kWh/d. The two independent results were comparatively analyzed with the field survey result higher than the estimated value obtained from the energy distribution company by 0.84%. Findings also showed that the error margin or difference was relatively negligible with little or no significant effect on the design of the optimal hybrid renewable energy system. Therefore, the daily load demand figure from the field survey result validated the average daily load demand value determined from the obtained estimates. This validation is a crucial step in designing an optimal hybrid renewable energy system for energy sustainability of the study community, as the modeling and selection of systems components of the hybrid renewable energy system depends on the knowledge of accurate average daily load demand in order to avoid design of ineffective energy systems whose performances might not be optimal.

Abstract:
The Army's acquisition process is transforming to meet the needs of a force that must be agile, adaptive, and responsive to asymmetric threats. Advanced capabilities and technologies, which are urgently needed to enable rapid response to evolving military needs, are being developed and pushed out to troops at unprecedented rates. As a result, not all systems have undergone an iterative design process, received usability feedback from their target users, or had design support from human factors engineers to ensure that unit and Soldier considerations have been addressed. Subsequently, these systems may possess characteristics that induce high cognitive workload, fatigue, detectability, or trigger events that lead to fratricide. When human factors engineers encounter a system that has not derived these benefits, they too must become more agile, adaptive, and responsive to ensure that Soldier feedback is collected and that serious issues are identified and resolved before the system makes its way to the battlefield. Lessons learned while participating in advanced technology and experimentation programs include techniques that facilitate working with small Ns, institutional review boards, rapid survey instrument development, and the collection of qualitative feedback as well as the importance of having a “usability tool kit” available to facilitate data collection efforts in an operational field environment.

Abstract:
By surveying legal entities headquartered in the FYR Macedonia, this research investigates the relationship between entity size, the independent variables and the adoption of budgeting, the dependent variable. The study also looks at the perceived advantages and disadvantages of budgeting. In order to obtain basis for the field research, existing literature and empirical results were examined. Then, a survey was carried out by contacting managers and finance staff from the manufacturing, merchandising and service segments. The field data came from a sample of 52 respondents, forming a response rate of 61 percent. The empirical findings indicate that the advantages of using budgets far outweigh the disadvantages and that Macedonian enterprises do not consider using other planning tools as alternative to budgets. Furthermore, the questionnaire demonstrated that there is a positive relationship between company size and the adoption of budgeting practices. This research suggests that budgeting deserves further study given its massive use as a management control tool.

Abstract:
AbstractThe Methanol Multibeam (MMB) survey has yielded over 1000 masers at the 6668-MHz methanol transition: a near-complete census throughout the Galactic disc, as evident from the discovery statistics, and corroborated by preliminary distance determinations. Each maser pinpoints a massive star in a brief early evolutionary phase. Follow-up comparisons reveal in most cases a matching IR source in the GLIMPSE survey. The methanol masers effectively distinguish the genuine high mass proto-stars from the many thousand IR mimics of similar color. Longer IR wavelength follow-ups by Herschel instruments, and in the radio mm-continuum, will refine the mass-range encompassed by the masers; and, complemented by radio measurements at short cm-wavelengths, will define the evolutionary stage of each site, distinguishing hyper-compact HII regions from an earlier phase. Follow-up studies of key molecular gas tracers, including closely associated masers (other methanol transitions, water and OH), reveal the extent of homogeneity in the population and environments of high mass stars.Distance estimates based on the maser velocities have already allowed useful exploration of Galactic structure. Future astrometric parallax measurements extended to the full maser sample will precisely define the geometry of Galactic spiral arms of our Galaxy and independently define the velocity field, allowing a model-free study of Galactic rotation and dynamics. Associated OH masers (present at about half of the methanol sites) are being exploited to provide the first Galaxy-wide grid of ‘in situ’ magnetic field estimates. Our detailed characterization of the Galactic methanol maser population provides a yardstick for extragalactic comparisons with M31 and the LMC. Notably, our survey of the LMC has shown its methanol maser population to be remarkably small relative to our Galaxy - a likely consequence of low LMC metallicity.

AbstractThe methodical recording and representation of spatial data are central to archaeological fieldwork and research. Until recently, centimeter-level precise geolocation equipment was the exclusive domain of researchers who could afford setups costing tens of thousands of dollars. However, high-quality measurements are being made more accessible by rapidly evolving technologies. These new tools, when used together with mobile technology for efficiently recording field data, open up the possibility of capturing the precise location of every find during an archaeological surface survey. An important step in reaching the desired outcome—centimeter-level recording for all—is experimentation with a variety of emerging low-cost setups. Accordingly, we tested the Reach and Reach RS, differential global navigation satellite systems (dGNSS) equipment produced by the company Emlid, during a surface survey in Armenia in June 2018. Our field application demonstrates that the use of dGNSS is already possible and that the described advances in precision enable improved recording and representation of spatial data.

Abstract Introduction Western militaries have consumption rates of alcohol and tobacco which are higher than the associated civilian populations, and are concerned about the negative effects on health, wellbeing, and military performance that such high rates may have. Materials and Methods A survey questionnaire which collected nonidentifiable data was distributed to all accessible members of an Australian Army Combat Brigade over the annual induction training and prefield exercise period between January and March 2019. The survey was composed of personal and demographic questions, followed by questions concerning the personal consumption habits of alcohol and tobacco. 1,606 complete and valid surveys were returned, representing 55.3% of the Brigade’s posted strength. Ethical clearance for this project was provided by the Australian Defence Force Joint Health Command Low Risk Ethics Panel (18-012). Results Almost one quarter of the Combat Brigade exceeded the Australian daily risk guideline for alcohol consumption, and over three quarters exceeded the occasion risk guideline; with 6.1% of soldiers drinking alcohol daily. 24.3% identified as tobacco smokers, with 15.9% smoking daily. Smoking rates and volumes were higher when deployed on field training exercises and on international training and operational deployments; as was the consumption of roll-your-own cigarettes. Overall, the main determinants of the negative consumption behaviors were gender (male) and age (under 25). Conclusions This study confirmed that the members of an Australian Army Combat Brigade have higher negative health consumption behaviors concerning alcohol and tobacco than the general civilian population. The results also identified a cohort of Senior Non-Commissioned Officers and Warrant Officers (E5–E9) between the ages of 35 and 44 who had high negative consumption behaviors which could result in poor health outcomes. This could be a suitable cohort for a targeted campaign to reduce tobacco and alcohol consumption and to assist to make healthy life changes.

Abstract:
This article aims to examine the impact of corporate social responsibility, trust, and sustainable business strategies on the diffusion of innovative solutions in renewable energy sources. In this context, the material from the edition of the reports of the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development on innovation in the renewable energy industry was analyzed. A survey was also conducted among enterprises from the SME sector on the creation of a business model taking into account the diffusion of innovation in the field of renewable energy sources. The SME sector consists of entities that usually do not have an extensive organizational structure or research and development teams. Nevertheless, in the current economic situation, it is required that they are highly competitive, including through implemented innovations. Conscious participation of SME entities in the process of diffusion of innovation may be a solution that brings innovative solutions closer. The author stated that social responsibility had a moderate impact on the diffusion of innovation in the field of renewable energy in the SME sector, as it contributed the most to building trust in uncertain energy sources. On the other hand, the study conducted by the author showed that greater experience in the field of social responsibility (the company has a CSR department, there is a person responsible for CSR in the company, the company has a CSR policy, the company has a Code of Ethics, social reports are prepared in the company) had a positive relationship with building trust and commitment to innovative activities related to renewable energy sources. Conscious participation of SME entities in the process of diffusion of innovation may be a solution that approximates innovative solutions.

Abstract:
Abstract Objectives Perform a community needs assessment of soldiers to determine the types of programs or interventions necessary to improve physical fitness. Methods A mixed-method analysis was conducted on thirteen soldiers from a seventy-member Medical Company (Med Co.) who completed two online surveys. Of nine key informants, one provided additional information regarding the community's background conditions. The online surveys consisted of an adaptive dietary history questionnaire (DHQ3) and a complimentary Community Needs Assessment (CNA) survey that provided insight into the subjects’ community and background conditions. Results Of the total participants in this study (n = 13), the average respondent was 28 years old and male (76.9%). The average APFT score was 230, and the average total Healthy Eating Index (HEI) score was 57.8. Researchers found an inverse association between APFT and HEI scores, a positive association between HEI scores and weight loss, and a positive association between total HEI scores and time in service. Conclusions Policymakers should promote increasing diet quality by utilizing existing resources, implementing programs that provide nutrition and exercise counseling from specialized professionals, and increasing the availability of healthy foods for Reservists. Funding Sources No funding was provided to conduct this research.

Abstract:
They sat in the Cubberley Education Lecture Hall to hear visiting experts. More often they could be found meeting in reduced-size classes, or working on small-group activities. They usually took notes; sometimes they took field trips. They memorized lists and sat for exams, but they also watched films and acted out scenarios. Rather than take regular courses in the disciplines, they studied an integrated curriculum referred to as “Area Relationships.” Some faculty collaborated, team taught, and drew on students' prior knowledge. Even some administrators joined in the role-playing for the big culminating activity. The head of the program explained the reason for such a break from the traditional Stanford experience: “Special effort must be made to supply the student with points of view and methods of procedure which will enable him most quickly and most surely to survey a situation, analyze a problem, and formulate a solution.”
