Abstract:

The study presents one of the analytical fragments of the Armenian text of Russian poetry. The corpus of “Armenian” texts includes the poem “The Builder of Paradise, the painter Drevin” by Boris Slutsky, which is outwardly unrelated to Armenia. The purpose of the article is to analyze the semantics of the poem’s context, in particular, its indirect connection with Armenia. The author solves a number of problems: characterizing the artistic work of Alexander Drevin and the role of Armenia in it, including writing an essay about the tragic biography of the artist; designation of Armenia’s place on the scale of values in the poetry of Boris Slutsky; characteristics of the Soviet image of paradise and its embodiment in art and literature. Using historical, cultural and biographical methods, the study reveals the Armenian subtext in the “non-Armenian” poem “The Builder of Paradise, the painter Drevin” based on the poems of Boris Slutsky and the archival file on charges of counter-revolutionary activities against Alexander Drevin (GA RF).

Abstract:

Among the educational institutions of the Armenian city of Nakhichevan-on-Don, a special place was occupied by the Catherine women's gymnasium. This educational institution underwent an evolution from a three-year school to a female gymnasium, the appearance of which marked the manifestation of a rather conservative Armenian society towards female education. Unlike the parish schools Armenian educational institutions of the city, where the teachers were Armenians, the mentioned gymnasium was an educational institution in which a wide range of subjects were taught by teachers of various nationalities. The subjects studied here aligned with the subjects of the gymnasium program, including various languages, mathematics, physics, history, drawing, dance, etc. The city public administration of Nakhichevan-on-Don has always shown touching concern for the Catherine's female gymnasium, and all the problems that the Board of Trustees of the gymnasium faced were promptly resolved. Catherine's female gymnasium enjoyed great prestige among the local population, which was reflected in its overcrowding with students and the emergence of parallel classes.

Abstract:

The Greco-Turkish war, in its strictest sense, was a multifaceted conflict characterized by the varied actions of the combatants. Even though there were not any coalitions comprising military contingents, joint command structures, or coordinated military forces between the Greek, Armenian, and French nationalist factions, one can argue that each theatre of warfare – Armenian, Cilician, and Greek (Anatolian) – operated as a cohesive strategic unit. For many Greeks and Armenians, this conflict represented an extension of their national liberation effort, driven by territorial aspirations, a quest to realize their national vision, and an ambition to humble a longstanding adversary. On the other hand, the inhabitants of Anatolia and the Muslim refugees who had sought sanctuary in the region – individuals who increasingly identified as Turks rather than Ottomans – were motivated by their pursuit of national sovereignty and independence.

Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to provide a quantitative explanation of the migration balance and migration attitudes in Armenian society. A linear regression model has been constructed to explain the dependence of the migration balance on variables at the macro level, including annual GDP growth, the internal and external political state of Armenia. Data from the Armenian Statistical Service on statistics of border movements and annual GDP growth were used. The foreign policy state is represented by a variable taking the values “Truce”, “War”, and “Intense War”. The internal political state is represented by a variable taking the values “Open conflict”, “Latent conflict”, “Balanced”, “Positive expectations”, and “High expectations”. Based on the model, an estimate of the migration balance for 2023 was calculated. According to a sociological survey conducted in November 2022 using the structural modeling method (Structural Equation Modeling), two models were built that explain migration attitudes in society through the socio-economic characteristics of the respondent and characteristics of his political culture, including: the presence of a labor migrant in the family, the age of the respondent, approval of the 2018 revolution in Armenia, the realization of expectations from the revolution, a sense of political competence, political subjectivity and patriotism. The results of the study can be used to forecast the migration balance and migration attitudes in the society, as well as strategic planning and management of migration processes in Armenia.

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to analyse possibilities of including and conveying a variety of values in teaching mathematics through tasks in terms of their openness. In the first part of the introduction we present the theoretical ideas about values in mathematics education by Bishop and Lim & Ernest. The second part of introduction sets out the reasons why an emphasis on values seems advisable. Mathematics is not commonly associated with a variety of values. However, for mathematical education an orientation towards societal demands appear relevant. Scholars like Skovsmose and Fischer alike demanded the development of a reflecting ability. Some national state curricula depict some of the societal demands by calling for an orientation towards general values for all school subjects, but in this we see discrepancies to practiced teaching. The section “Tasks and Values” relates to justifying why tasks appear to be a useful means of influencing mathematics education. Several scholars have already investigated the possibilities of different task-types for teaching values. Here we connect this purpose to tasks characterized by their varying openness. As teachers are essential to unfold the potential of tasks, the present analysis is intendent to give them concrete ideas for mediating values in mathematics classes. In the main part we analyse traditional tasks from ancient textbooks, with experiences in Armenian classes, as well as an open task with experiences of Austrian students in partner work. The discussed tasks provide opportunities for mathematical values like control, openness and for epistemological values as well as for more general values like self-confidence, mutual respect, justice and mathematics educational values like accuracy and consistency. In conclusion, the encouragement towards discussions among and with the students during the solving process of the task appears to be essential. Our experiences show that students mainly react positively towards such discussing activities. This could be a motivation for teachers to take up this issue besides of idealistic reasons.

AbstractThe Matenadaran, Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, is a unique repository of Armenian and Oriental manuscripts. The Oriental Collection of the Matenadaran (known usually as Arabo-Persian Collection), including manuscripts in Persian, Arabic, Turkish, Hebrew, Indian and other languages (total ca. 2,500), is formed over a long time and is regularly augmented by purchases and gifts. This collection covers nearly all subjects of human and natural sciences and culture, including theology, jurisprudence, Qur'ānic sciences, Tafsīrs, Hadīthes, lexicography, literature, poetry, history, politics, philosophy, logic, astronomy, magic, mathematics, medicine, veterinary, and agriculture. Among them there are some Sufi codices from the period of the 15th to the 19th century, illustrated and illuminated in the various ateliers in Iran and the region. The article presents the analysis of some Oriental medieval miniatures from the Matenadaran Collection connected with the Sufi motifs in their compositions. The most important are illustrative cycles of a copy dating back to 1848-1849 of the Commentaries of the Seven Qasidas by Husayn Ibn Ahmad al-Zuzani (Ms. no. 1610); of the Afghan manuscript of the 18th century Gulshan-i Afghan by 'Ali Akbar Oraqzay (Ms. no. 538); of a manuscript (no. 599) dated from 1841-1842 and containing the poem Yusuf va Zuleykha by 'Abd ul-Rahman Djami; and of a manuscript of 1629 (no.1036), the travel diary of the Iranian diplomat Muhammad 'Ali Bek Isfahani; as well a number of single miniature compositions from the collection of Louise Aslanian (Paris) (no.1999).

Abstract:

<p>In this article, are considered the achievements and problems of the innovative educational project "Chess" implemented by Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Khachatur Abovyan in secondary schools. The purpose of the study: to identify the mechanisms of research and pedagogical interaction, as well as to analyze and summarize the results of many years of research of psychological and pedagogical support of the educational course "Chess in elementary school". The main research methods were the analysis and synthesis of the conducted studies, as well as the generalization of previously done empirical studies. Various empirical methods and methodological developments were applied: sociological survey, structured interview methods, focus group method, document content analysis, questionnaire method, testing, contextual questionnaires, projective drawing techniques, etc. The results of the research made it possible to correlate the educational results of the university subject "Theory and Practice of Teaching Chess" with the characteristics of qualifications in the specialty "Pedagogy" in the general educational standards for the subject "Chess". Accordingly, the methodological component was revised, providing educational results in the subject, which made it possible to ensure the diversity and expediency of the chosen teaching methods. Research results were taken into account, indicating the need to integrate chess with mathematics and other subjects, since chess have high potential for the development of such cognitive processes and skills of the 21st century as: decision making, critical thinking, cooperation and creative thinking is high. We determined the main provisions of the correlations between the research and educational activities of the university and educational institutions, and revealed the mechanisms of this interaction.</p>

Abstract:

The image of Our Lady of Copacabana, a gilded polychrome sculpture carved in maguey wood in 1583, is one of the most important devotions in the Americas. In former research, we have identified the use of gypsum, Armenian bole, cerussite and atacamite in its polychromy. In this study, a red sample taken from the Virgin's tunic and a blue sample extracted from the cloak have been analysed with the aim to identify both pigments and offer insights into the painting technique. Analysis by micro-Raman spectroscopy complemented with scanning electron microscopy–energy dispersive spectroscopy and high-performance liquid chromatography allowed the identification of carmine lake in the red sample. Analysis by micro-Raman spectroscopy of the surface of the blue sample and its cross section showed the presence of smalt—the blue-glass pigment—over a cerussite layer, bathed by a very thin ultramarine layer—from a probable native origin—following a pictorial tradition that would last even until the eighteenth century. This is the first time that lapis lazuli has been scientifically identified in a Spanish American colonial painted layer. Abstract:

The study of a development length determination according to Armenian and foreign building standards is presented. For analysis implementation different concrete classes (B20, B25, B30) and rebar diameters (25mm, 28mm, 32mm) were chosen. Reinforcement bar class A500C was taken. Two different cases were considered: in one case, the reinforcement is taken in tension, in the other case, in compression. The calculation results were presented graphically using the "Wolfram Mathematica" software package. The results are shown that in the cases of both tension and compression, the value of the anchorage length obtained by Armenian building standards is 23.1% more than by Russian codes received. In the case of tension, the value of the anchorage length obtained by American codes is 16.7-20.8% more than the one obtained by the Armenian building standards.

Abstract:

Atpresent, both in many countries and in Armenia, high school education is carried out according to differentiated streaming programs. An important part of our study is the problem of increasing the effectiveness of teaching mathematics in the humanitarian stream. Pupils in this stream show a disinterest in teaching math. This is evidenced by the results of a survey among students of the humanitarian flow of high school and math teachers teaching in this flow. The reasons are varied: the unsatisfactory levelof mathematical training of students in the humanitarian flow, the workload and complexity of the program material, the allotted time, the application background that is weakly expressed in the textbooks, the chosen teaching method, low motivation, and soon.Thus, the picture is as follows: the process of learning mathematics in the humanitarian flow is inefficient. In our opinion, in the matter of increasing the interest of students in the humanitarian stream, as well as increasing the effectiveness of teaching mathematics, we will have positive dynamics if we make the aesthetic potential of mathematics and mathematical education more obvious, and develop practical ways to increase the aesthetics of teaching mathematics. Abstract:

The problem of mathematical models' adequacy in assessing seismic risk is considered. It is demonstrated that the currently used methods of testing such models make it possible to assess only the consistency of simulation and real data by counting the number of earthquake epicenters that appear in the areas with increased values of the fields with various indicators. The paper proposes a fundamentally new approach to testing adequacy of the seismic risk assessment models based on examining statistical hypotheses. Application of this approach is considered in a seismic risk assessment model for the territory of Armenia and the adjacent regions. Practical implementation of the proposed approach and the results obtained convincingly confirm that the tested mathematical model is adequate. Normality of the seismic risk values general set distribution calculated by the probabilistic model for Armenia and the adjacent territories is presented. Correlation coefficients of theoretical and empirical frequencies distribution are 0.75--0.99. It is shown that adequacy of the seismic risk assessment probabilistic model should be checked taking into account the earthquake abyssal levels. Conclusions are provided on operability and possibility of further use of the considered method in checking adequacy of assessing the seismic risk mathematical models

Abstract:

The issues of enhancement the methods of calculation and design of the gas transportation system (GTS) in the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh are considered, taking into account the analysis of loading modes and the peculiarities of the system individual nodes’ operation. To calculate the pressure distribution at the nodal points and gas flows, the matrix method for determining the material balance equations for the linear-independent and nonlinear-independent contours of the gas pipeline circuit is used as a process mathematical model. On the energy conservation law basis, the balance capacities equation of gas supply sources and its consumption, distributed among the gas transmission network elements, is proposed. A mathematical model of the gas distribution process is obtained. Calculation methods that allow increasing the economic efficiency of GTS operation under optimal terms of GTS development are proposed.

Abstract:

In this article, we consider the features of the perception of student information in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, in order to draw the attention of researchers to the topic of learning in practice through field training. The article shows the results of these studies in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as an example) to reflect the global trends. For this purpose, we examined the expectations of students in Russia and the CIS countries from training related to lectures and field training. We created a questionnaire and distributed it in three Moscow-based universities (Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography—MIIGAiK, Moscow Aviation Institute—MAI, and Moscow City University—MCU). Our key assumption is that field practices in Russian universities are qualitatively different from the phenomenon described in European literature, where digital or remote field practices have already emerged. Abstract:

Abstract We present the facilities of the Aragats Space Environmental Center in Armenia used during multi-year observations of the thunderstorm ground enhancements (TGEs) and corresponding environmental parameters. We analyze the characteristics of the detectors, operated on Aragats, and describe the coordinated detection of TGEs by the network of scintillators, field meters, and weather stations. By using a fast synchronized data acquisition system, we reveal correlations of the multivariate data on time scales from nanoseconds to minutes, which allow us to gain insight into the TGE and lightning origin and their interrelations. Also, we demonstrate how different coincidences of multilayered detector operation can select various species of secondary cosmic rays.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la percepción que tienen algunas de las empresas del Quindío frente a la dinámica del teletrabajo y la implementación efectiva de esta modalidad. Se tomó una muestra de 71 empresas registradas en la Cámara de Comercio de Armenia y del Quindío a diciembre de 2020 que son catalogadas como mediana y gran empresa. La metodología de la investigación es cuantitativa, con un enfoque empírico analítico y descriptivo. Para la recolec-ción de información, se realizó una encuesta sobre el avance de las organizacio-nes en este proceso, la percepción de los líderes y colaboradores, y las dinámicas. Y como resultado se encuentra que existe un desconocimiento frente al tema, sus procedimientos y sus beneficios: el 67 % de las empresas no han contemplado el teletrabajo en su estrategia, el 24 % tienen claro que deben hacerlo y el 6 % no tienen intención de implementarlo. El teletrabajo tuvo una mayor implementa-ción en las áreas administrativas por motivo del aislamiento social causado por el covid-19 y esto permitió, en muchas ocasiones, la sostenibilidad. Sin embargo, el 73 % argumentan no sentirse preparadas o no querer continuar con el teletra-bajo en cualquiera de sus modalidades y afianzarlo en su cultura organizacional. Esta se convierte en una oportunidad para las universidades y el Estado al liderar procesos de sensibilización y formación en teletrabajo y cultura digital.

The purpose of the study is to assess the quantitative state of water resources in 50 European countries based on the FAO-Aquastat database on average annual indicators, to rank them, to assess the external dependence of water resources of countries, to identify countries with water deficit. According to the Falkenmark water stress indicator (m3/year/person), European countries are ranked as follows: a) the state of water resources is stable (>2500 m3/year per person) – Iceland, Norway, Russia, Croatia, Finland, Serbia, Latvia, Sweden, Georgia, Slovenia, Ireland, Romania, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Estonia, Slovakia, Austria, Lithuania, Portugal, Switzerland, Greece, Belarus, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Andorra, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, France, Italy, North Macedonia , Moldova, Bulgaria, Armenia, Turkey; b) existing water vulnerability (1700-2500 m3/year per person) – Spain, Great Britain, Germany; c) existing water stress (<1700 m3/year per person) – Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Denmark; d) existing water deficit (<1000 m3/year per person) – Cyprus; e) current absolute water deficit (< 500 m3/year per person) – Malta. The countries of Europe, the formation of water resources of which is more than 50% outside their borders, include Portugal, Latvia, Croatia, Ukraine, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Azerbaijan, Romania, Moldova, the Netherlands, Hungary, Serbia. The range of KZ for the list of these countries is from 50.9% (Portugal) to 94.8% (Serbia). The total water withdrawal in the EU is about 353 km3/year, which means that 10% of the total fresh water is withdrawn. In Europe, the majority of water is used from surface water bodies – 74% of total water withdrawals are from rivers and reservoirs, and 24.5% from groundwater. Water withdrawal rates are highest during the growing season. Water is used in agriculture (44%), industry (40%) and household purposes (16%). Increased droughts due to climate change exacerbate seasonal water scarcity. Abnormal heat in Europe was observed in 2003, 2018, 2019, 2022.

Современные высокоэффективные и надежные аналитические методы контроля востребованы как в целях мониторинга технологического процесса производства спиртных напитков, так и в целях выявления фальсификаций. К наиболее часто встречающимся способам фальсификации алкоголя относятся подделка продукции известных брендов, изменение предусмотренного рецептурой состава, использование воды, не прошедшей водоподготовку, снижение крепости, частичная или полная замена зерновых дистиллятов на этиловый спирт, замена этанола, полученного ферментативным способом, на технический этиловый или метиловый спирт. В статье рассмотрено современное состояние инструментального контроля качества и безопасности алкогольной продукции. Дан краткий обзор современных трендов в области инструментальных методов анализа, систематизированы основные аналитические методы, используемые в контроле качества алкогольной продукции, описаны их основные преимущества. Приведены межгосударственные стандарты, разработанные ВНИИПБТ, применяемые для выявления наиболее опасных видов фальсификации, не только в России, но и на территории Армении, Беларуси, Казахстана, Киргизии, Молдовы и других государств. Сформулирован вывод о том, что недостаточная разработанность методик анализа, направленных на определение химического состава спиртных напитков и выявление фальсификаций, делает задачу разработки современных инструментальных методов анализа для идентификации химического состава алкогольных напитков весьма актуальной. В целях повышения эффективности контроля химического состава дистиллятов и напитков, приготовленных на их основе, представлена методика, позволяющая одновременно, селективно, с высокой степенью достоверности определять 20 компонентов летучих органических примесей за 20 мин методом газовой хромато-масс-спектрометрии. Внедрение разработанной методики в практику контролирующих организаций будет способствовать выявлению фальсификаций спиртных дистиллированных напитков. The role of instrumental methods of analysis has increased significantly in recent years. Modern highly efficient and reliable analytical control methods are in demand both in order to monitor the technological process of the production of alcoholic beverages, and in order to detect falsifications. The most common methods of falsifying alcohol include counterfeiting well-known brands, changing the composition provided for by the recipe, using water that has not been treated with water, reducing the strength, partial or complete replacement of grain distillates with ethyl alcohol, replacing ethanol obtained by an enzymatic method with technical ethyl or methyl alcohol. The article considers the current state of instrumental quality control and safety of alcoholic beverages. A brief review of modern trends in the field of instrumental methods of analysis is given, the main analytical methods used in quality control of alcoholic beverages are systematized, and their main advantages are described. The interstate standards developed by VNIIPBT are given, which are used to identify the most dangerous types of falsification, not only in Russia, but also on the territory of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and other states. The conclusion is drawn that the insufficient development of analysis methods aimed at determining the chemical composition of alcoholic beverages and identifying falsifications makes the task of developing modern instrumental analysis methods for identifying the chemical composition of alcoholic beverages very relevant. In order to improve the efficiency of monitoring the chemical composition of distillates and drinks prepared on their basis, a method is presented that allows one to simultaneously, selectively, with a high degree of reliability determine 20 components of volatile organic impurities in 20 min by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The introduction of the developed methodology into the practice of controlling organizations will help to identify falsifications of distilled alcoholic beverages.

Abstract:

A method for express characterization of cognacs and grape brandies is proposed in the case study of their classification by geographical origin. The method is based on the use of informative fragments of fluorescence spectra of samples of different geographic origin and their subsequent processing using machine learning algorithms. Three types of fluorescence spectra were selected, i.e., spectra of synchronous scanning at a wavelength difference of 50 nm, and emission spectra at an excitation wavelength of 250 and 280 nm. These spectra were measured for 43 samples of cognacs and grape brandies, which were divided into 3 classes according to their geographical origin, the regions of the Russian Federation (except for Dagestan), the Republic of Dagestan (Russian Federation), and the Republic of Armenia. A training set consisting of 33 samples and a test set consisting of 10 samples were formed from the samples under study. To train the models, an extreme gradient boosting, one of the modern machine learning algorithms, was chosen as suitable for a limited number of samples in the training set. The correctness of the sample recognition of the test set (consisting of 10 samples not used in training) was 100% for models based on emission spectra and spectra of synchronous scanning. The results obtained demonstrate the fundamental possibility of using informative fragments of fluorescence spectra in combination with machine learning to characterize cognacs and grape brandies, including their classification by the geographical origin. However, the use of this method in regulated procedures of the product control is possible only for cognacs and grape brandies with a protected geographical indication (designation of the origin). The above approach can also be used to classify other liquid food products (juices, honey, etc.).

Abstract:

There is evidence of good performance against large magnitude earthquakes, of the buildings built with the I-464 system in Armenia and Chile. This is a system made up of prefabricated panels and slabs, which are joined through wet joints; rigid at the level of the superstructure and articulated in a continuous foundation of cast-in-situ reinforced concrete. However, the possibility of the appearance of potential seismic damage in buildings built in Santiago of Cuba is not ruled out, due to the state of deterioration of the elements and joints, as well as the structural transformations carried out by the residents. That is why this research is designed as a purpose, to analyze the seismic behavior in relation to the structural joints. To meet this objective, 16 hypothetical variants are evaluated, which are prepared based on the statistical analysis of the diagnosis made to a sample of 200 buildings, as well as 4 variants that correspond to the original typologies. Multi-mass models are used for the dynamic analysis by SAP 2000 v20, where the joints between the precast elements were not explicitly modeled and were assumed to be rigid. The calculation requests in the joints were obtained through 442 ‘section cuts’ in each of the five-level variants and 367 ‘section cuts’ in the four-level variants. Then, both the resistance of the concrete to shearing and the resistance of the weld seams that join the protruding steel bars are evaluated, as well as checking the possibility of creep of these bars. It is concluded that only in the 5-level variants, where pathological damage is contemplated, there is a danger of failure of horizontal joints because the steel can reach the design stress and flow. Likewise, vertical joints can fail due to shear and due to the creep of the steel.

Deciphering the boundaries of female identity in the history of thoughts has been a deep-seated problematic issue since the mainstream, throughout the centuries, put strong emphasis on non-feminist discourses. When specifically focused on the Ottoman Empire, the circumstances, and obstacles that women encounter had no difference than their European counterparts. Ottoman Empire which was a land of different cultures, religions, and ethnic groups, witnessed a fundamental shift in terms of women rights in the 19th century. As a pattern of the Empire, the Ottoman Armenian women writers shed light on some postcolonial issues as well as feminist ones almost a century ago before it is theorized. The concepts of unhomeliness and hybridity as universal ideas are proven to be also timeless in the works of Zabel Yesayan, an Ottoman Armenian women writer, particularly in My Soul in Exile. This study aims to analyze the cultural richness of the women’s rights movements in the Ottoman Empire fed by different shareholders, such as Ottoman Armenian women writers in this particular paper. To have a better and deeper understanding of cultural and historical roots of women’s rights movements consolidates the construction of a stronger female identity since it will prove where we started and how we proceeded. Consequently, this paper intends that hearing multiple voices raised from the same geographic location, as well as being aware of and informed about different challenges, would be a watershed moment in the history of women, consolidating our steps and enriching our cultural heritage.

Abstract:

We give a review of the most important scientific achievements of one of the greatest scientists of the XX century, the founder of the modern astrophysics in Armenia, Viktor A. Ambartsumian (1908-1996). He has fundamentally contributed in various fields of astronomy and astrophysics, cosmogony, theoretical physics, mathematics, and philosophy. We list the most important scientific results, including his revolutionary works on origin and evolution of stars and activity of galactic nuclei that turned over the development of astrophysics and gave life to our before unchanged Universe. He was one of the founders of the theory of planetary nebulae, stellar dynamics, protostellar dense matter, as well as he has contributed in other important areas of the theoretical astrophysics. Ambartsumian was also a great organizer of science, important political and public figure. He was the founding Director of the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory (BAO, 1946-1988), the President of the Armenian Academy of Sciences in 1947-1993, the President of the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 1961-1964 and the President of the International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU) in 1968-1972. He was the founder of the theoretical astrophysics in the Soviet Union, the founder of chairs of astrophysics in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) and Yerevan state universities, as well as the journals Communications of BAO and Astrofizika (Astrophysics).

The source of data is Scopus database, data are taken from Scimago Journal and Country Rank platform. The number of scientific articles of the Republic of Armenia published in high-ranking international journals has increased over the past ten years, except for 2020. However, Armenia’s position in Scimago Country Rank has worsened over time due to the higher growth rate of world scientific output. Science in Armenia has structural disproportions typical of the Soviet model of science. The leading areas of science are exact sciences: physics, astronomy, mathematics, earth and planetary science.

Abstract:

The creation of new composite self-lubricating polymer materials with the use of Armenian minerals, and the study of the filler influence on tribological processes and working parameters of tribojoints is an actual problem in machine and device building.The developed composites are characterized by increased wear resistance, improved strength characteristics, and a reduced coefficient of friction, which expands the range of possibilities of their application in modern friction units of machines.The processes of friction and wear of antifriction self-lubricating polymer materials are significantly determined by the phenomenon of friction transfer, which is an important aspect of the adhesion mechanism of polymer wear and plays a significant role in the mechanism of self-lubrication of metalpolymer friction pairs. The analysis of tribological tests of composite materials depending on test conditions is carried out. The tribological behavior of polyphenilene sulfide filled with molybdenum concentrate and polytetrafluoroethilene sliding against a steel counterface is investigated. The influence of the filler proportions, sliding speed and counterface roughness on the wear rate and coefficient of friction of the self-lubricating polymer-based composites has been studied. For this purpose pin-on-disk configuration and the design of experimental approach utilizing Taguchi’s orthogonal arrays are used, allowing to make a reasonable choice of composites with minimum wear.
