Abstract:
I de seneste år er begreber som det flydende og det processuelle blevet inddraget i byens teoretisering og design. Inden for bysociologien skriver forskeren John Pløger, at byen er som et rum, der formes af intersubjektivitet, latente kræfter, processer og praksisser. Pløger peger på, at arkitekturens virkningsmåder er “affektive, kropslige og kognitive”. Byen, som også er en fysisk og kvantificerbar størrelse, bliver intensiveret, når mennesker oplever og sanser arkitekturen.Det er derfor ikke længere nok at forstå byens rum og bygninger i relation til enmålbar menneskelig skala, som eksempelvis arkitekten Jan Gehl har argumenteretfor. Vi må også være bevidste om, at byens rum og arkitektur stimulererdet sensitive ved at bringe brugeren i en særlig stemning. I denne forstand erarkitekturen orienteret mod at skabe atmosfærer og artikulere den æstetiske ogindividbundne sansning.I denne artikel ønsker vi at vise, hvordan orienteringen imod det æstetiske,sanselige og processuelle karakteriserer vores tids byudvikling. Vi operererderfor med en kvalitativ forståelse af rummet, hvor det enkelte arkitektoniskeværk indgår i utallige relationer til sine omgivelser. Inspireret af urbanistenPhilippe Boudon er udgangspunktet, at “every building is perceived in relation tothe presence of its neighbours”.

Abstract:
<p>The intention with this article is to describe current exhibition practices at some Norwegian fine art- and design museums and to relate these practices to the visitors and their experiences, by comparing data concerning the plans and interior designs of gallery rooms and the organization of the displays.</p><p>This investigation is based on data from a survey of 19 permanent exhibitions in 12 fine arts and design museums, conducted in 2011–12; the Norwegian museum architecture and museum displays with its more than 100 year old traditions; and Charlotte Klonk’s book <em>Spaces of Experience: Art Gallery Spaces from 1800–2000</em>.</p><p>The survey shows that the purpose built museums to a large extent have kept their original layout and the organization of rooms. The non-purpose built museums tend to imitate the museums from the 1800s, within the limits of their given architecture. Different types of specially designed rooms are found in all buildings, regardless of age and purposes. Regarding the organization of displays, the most frequent principle is a combination of historically chronological types and themes. Almost as frequent are strictly historical chronological displays and thematic displays without any historical narrative.</p><p>Hence, the comparisons reveal that there are no fixed patterns regarding the historical types and the conventions concerning the relationship between the museum architecture and organization of the displays, which lead to the conclusion that today there is no general curatorial strategy in Norwegian fine art- and design museums with regard to the visitors’ experiences.</p>

arbejdspladsarkitektur og arbejdspladsdesign følger ikke længere få faste skabeloner for det gode eller effektive arbejde. I stedet bruger virksomheder i dag arkitektur og design til at vise, hvordan de er særlige, både i det de leverer og i den måde, de arbejder på. Selvom denne udvikling har givet en øget opmærksomhed på arbejdets konkrete hverdagspraksis, som det feks. kommer til udtryk gennem brugerundersøgelser i forbindelse med byggeprojekter, er medarbejderinvolvering, der går tæt på samspillet mellem rum og arbejde, fortsat ikke særlig udbredt. I den første del af denne artikel diskuterer vi med udgangspunkt i en konkret case, hvordan en sådan involvering kan styrkes gennem etableringen af såkaldte designdialoger, der tager udgangspunkt i en inddragende kortlægning af medarbejdernes eksisterende arbejdspraksis. I anden del af artiklen rejser vi spørgsmålet, hvordan designdialoger om rum og arbejde kan få større betydning for det konkrete byggeprojekt.

Abstract:
THE CULTURAL INJECTION OF DANISH CITIES – PERFORMATIVE ARCHITECTURE AND DIVERSE URBAN CULTUREThis article takes its point of departure in the pressure that the experience economy exerts on cities – a pressure which has been reflected in recent years in a number of comprehensive transformations of physical and architectural environments, leading to the emergence of new “event scapes” related to fun and cultural experience. The physical and cultural consequences of this development are discussed here. However, the article also focuses on the challenges and opportunities that this new “cultural grafting” also generates. It presents a survey that testifies that all Danish municipalities are directly engaged in drawing up strategies for cultural planning. Many interesting small and larger projects have seen the light of day. Three examples of such projects are presented, as they contribute to a new urban cultural agenda that consciously fuses the traditional shopping and café life of the city with knowledge, experience and play. They also contribute to the development of new performative architecture and urban spaces through a new orchestration and performative elements. The article concludes that if we seek strategies for the urban development of our Danish cities that include elements of learning, refinement and culture, factors which are often ignored in the more market-oriented discourses of the experience economy and experience city, then what we need is a broader approach and understanding of the concept of experience. In this case, “experience” will cover many analogous concepts such as discovery, practice and living through something. An approach like this will place new demands on cultural planning and urban design strategies. The examples of cultural projects presented in the article bear witness to an understanding of the experience economy as something with great potential when coupled with strategic thinking and cooperation between public- and private-sector agencies.

Ud fra John Deweys erfaringspædagogik, bygget op om begreberne erfaring, situation og samspil, undersøges aspekter af en strukturel adskillelse af målstyrede og projektbaserede undervisningspraksisser med arkitektuddan­­nelsen på Kunstakademiets Skoler for Arkitektur Design og Konservering som eksempel på en uddannel­­­se baseret på både et videnskabeligt og et kunstnerisk grundlag. Det dis­kuteres om den også konkret rumlige adskillelse af de to grundlags respektive pædagogiske platforme i henholdsvis kursusundervisning og projektundervisning er tilsigtet og hensigtsmæssig med særligt henblik på at opspore tiltag, der kan styrke uddannelsens forskningsbasering. I et bredere perspektiv plæderer artiklen for etableringen af fagstudiemiljøer til befordring af erfaringsdannelsen i samspilssituationer på tværs af grundlag - i dette tilfælde det kunstneriske og videnskabelige. John Dewey’s pedagogy of experience, inspired by the concepts of experience, situation and interaction forms the frame for contemplating the apparent conflict between curriculum and project based pedagogical methods encompassing both the sciences and the arts. Investigating a particular case, the article considers whether the spatial separation of practiced pedagogical methods relative to the scientific and the artistic, has been intentional and appropriate. The inquiry aims at identifying new ways of strengthening the scientific basis of the education framework under discussion. Considering Dewey’s understanding of a learning context as ‘total social set-up’ the article in a broader perspective, argues in favour of an understanding of ‘learning context’ potentially as ‘context which learns’: Accordingly, given that the total social set-up of learning is considered dynamic rather than static the article suggests to affect such dynamic processes deliberately. In conclusion such deliberations, as motivated by pedagogical intentions of integrating scientific and artistic disciplines in the total social set-up, are considered.

Metodología y objetivos: Con el objetivo de comprender las inquietudes teóricas y conceptuales que estructuraron la obra del arquitecto noruego Sverre Fehn (1924-2009), se han explorado los textos y dibujos contenidos en cuadernos cuyas páginas llenó Fehn a lo largo de sus más de 50 años de actividad profesional. El análisis de estas fuentes directas, conservadas en el Nasjonalmuseet for Kunst, Arkitektur og Design de Oslo y su puesta en relación contextos que sobre el arquitecto escribieron críticos y compañeros —destacando Per Olaf Fjeld y Christian Norberg-Schulz, ambos con vínculos biográficos con Fehn—, ha permitido concluir que dos fueron las ideas básicas subyacentes en la producción del noruego: por un lado, el horizonte, que entendió como desafío, patria de lo desconocido, motor de la imaginación de los hombres hasta que la constatación de la esfericidad de la Tierra mermósu capacidad para inspirar el pensamiento irracional; por otro, el encuentro de la arquitectura con el terreno, con esa masa que el arquitecto manipula hasta descubrir que es precisamente en la confrontación dramática entre naturaleza y hombre donde nace la belleza, y que en ese duelo la arquitectura reconoce sus límites. Resultados: Al comparar estas reflexiones —especialmente las relativas a la oposición entre arquitectura y naturaleza— con lospostulados defendidos por algunos de sus contemporáneos, se ha evidenciado un Sverre Fehn muy alejado de los planteamientos de otros arquitectos con los que compartió contexto geográfico y temporal como Reima Pietilä, al tiempo que se ha desvelado su profunda convergencia con el enfoque del danés Jörn Utzon, con quien había colaborado profesionalmente en su juventud.
